Reviews
The hotel has a great location in Times Square, with friendly and helpful staff. However, the rooms are small and in need of renovation, with issues such as thin walls, noisy air conditioning, and poor temperature control. Some guests also experienced long wait times for elevators and slow Wi-Fi.

Please do not book a taxi via the hotel. We ended up being charged 45 dollars more than the original price. I am still waiting to hear from the hotel how a charge can be updated without my consent after I have left the country.
- 3/5
The room was quiet, the front desk guy was nice. The price was good for NYC, but you get what you pay for. The AC worked great and it was blazing hot in NY. Overall, if you don’t have high expectations then it works, except the shower that doesn’t work for anyone.
- 3/5
Good stay.
- 1/5
The room was dirty and old.
- 3/5
These 47th st hotels are a crapshoot. Some are really nice, some are not to great. This one is not the worst but far from the best. The mattresses are ok the bed frames are cheap and the room is small. The bathrooms are small and old, the housekeeping is rushed and not too thorough. The elevators are the main pain point. Slow, small, and only 2 of them. But the location is great and the staff is helpful. As a "budget" option, it's probably on the high end but I'll never stay there again.
- 3/5
I was hoping this budget hotel would be a little bit better for the price that we paid. It was an expensive weekend in NYC in general. But we paid $370 for one night. The hotel is very budget hotel-esque. The location was GREAT and we didn't have any issues with noise level. But the furniture in the room is the cheapest barest furniture around. The bed was so loud every moment that someone moved. There was a metal night stand on one side of the bed but not the other and then one wooden shelf. Our bathroom towels were tiny and although overall the room seemed clean, there was a long hair (not ours) hanging on one of the towels. The bathroom shower left something to be desired as well. Low water pressure and took a long time to get warm. There are other similar priced and similarly located hotels like The Edison, The paramount, Hampton Inns that seem much higher end and we will choose those over OYO again in the future.
- 1/5
The room photos online are very misleading and do not accurately represent what you actually get. Our first room had a broken air conditioner, was significantly smaller than advertised, and was in poor condition. With two beds in the room, you practically had to climb onto one bed to access the other. The walls were filthy, covered with stains, scuffs, and large patches of missing paint. Overall, the room felt dirty and poorly maintained. Thankfully, the front desk staff was accommodating and moved us to another room. The second room was slightly larger, but still nowhere near what was shown in the photos. The air conditioning worked, which was an improvement, but the room had visible BLACK MOLD. The water pressure was extremely weak, and the hot water was barely warm. The only major positive, aside from the staff, is the location. The hotel is right in Times Square, putting you within walking distance of many of the city’s main attractions and hotspots. Unfortunately, this stay was a total waste of money. Under normal circumstances, I would have checked out and booked a different hotel, but due to circumstances beyond my control, that wasn’t an option. Overall: Staff 10/10, Hotel Rooms 0/10. Great employees and a great location cannot make up for the poor condition, cleanliness
- 4/5
The first room we had, the AC didn't work. We didn't use the blankets we were so hot. But we got in pretty late to begin with. I inquired about the AC the next morning. Turned out, it wasn't working. They did move us to a different room. Then in that room, the TV didn’t work. They did move the TV from our original room to the new room (my dad needs his sports). All in all it was a decent room. However the last day of our stay, the outlets stopped working? The ones on the side of the window, they were very loose. Could probably use some more updates but all in all the staff was great! Very helpful! It was clean. Bed comfortable enough, pillows were nice and big. For being close to times square, i felt like it was a very decent hotel for the price we got it for, being budget friendly with a private bathroom.
- 3/5
The hotel is a half a block to Times Square and close to theaters. Some evidence of deferred maintenance. A painter could be kept working for quite a while. The front desk staff is friendly.
- 4/5
The location was great and the food at the restaurant next door was very good.
- 5/5
Staff was lovely, a very fair rate for NYC on a budget with a great Times Square/Theatre District location.
- 3.5/5
Location is great. Great on the fact that they had a room to accommodate 4 people last minute since the hotel we booked had discrepancy on their room description. They will hold your luggage for you. Polite snd helpful staff. The beds not very comfortable but when you're exhausted you can still sleep. Our key cards stopped working 3 times which very inconvenient when you need it to operate the elevator. Bathroom fan didn't work. The restrooms in lobby need a good scrubbing or pressure washing.
- 3.5/5
The hotel was very clean, and the location is absolutely amazing. The reception staff were the best part—they provided excellent service and made both check-in and check-out incredibly smooth and easy. Overall, it was a great experience with a wonderful staff. Thank you, OYO Times Square! The rooms are quite small with limited space to move around. Also, the housekeeping schedule was a bit confusing: on the first day, they brought fresh towels and took the trash. On the second day, they took the wet towels but didn't replace them or empty the trash. Over our 3-day stay, full room cleaning was never done, and I wasn't sure if we had to explicitly request it.
- 3/5
The Times Square location is great! The room was meh as far as cleanliness goes. The ceiling of the shower had dead bugs on it and the corners/ floor felt a bit unclean. The bed was fine - definitely not the most comfortable but did the job. The cleaning staff was incredibly kind and helped us out with towels a few times. That said, we would not stay here again. You get what you pay for!
- 3/5
Staff was unresponsive to the problem.
- 3/5
I like the place is convenience.
- 5/5
This is an older hotel, it has some worn furniture and the tiniest little elevator you've ever seen, very much like what you'd find in Europe but it also has a great deal of charm. The beds were comfortable, the sheets were very soft, the bathroom was clean and the staff was fabulous. I requested a fridge it was there in 5 minutes I requested an iron for a shirt it was there in 5 minutes on the second day we needed more shampoo and towels they were there in a matter of minutes. Marie behind the front desk was the absolute best. Additionally it couldn't have been better located. Coffee straight across the street Times Square 2 minutes down the road and a good many popular New York sites in walking distance..I have to mention the food, great street food everywhere, good restaurants everywhere and the best ice cream in the city inhouse. We had a blast
- 2/5
Location Neighbor slamming doors all day and night got to the room the TV didn't work had to wait for maintenance to swap TV no fridge
- 2/5
Room was not clean. Towels & pillow cases all had some sort of brown or yellow stain. One even had hair on it. They could’ve at least switched it out. Bed sheets were dirty too. Shampoo, Conditioner and body wash are complimentary which is understandable but were literally empty. The only good thing was the location of the hotel. Everything at a walking distance
- 2/5
We checked in Wednesday only to find the AC in our room was NOT working. Tried to switch rooms but the hotel was full so had to suffer with no alternatives. They did move us to another room Thursday. The TV did not work properly, the AC (that did work in the new room) was incredibly noisy and basics lacked in the hotel. Then in trying to get some retribution for Wednesday night’s issues, I hotel staff was helpful but totally got the run around between the hotel, the OYO customer service and Hotels… no one could and it was the other parties’ fault. Worst hotel experience I’ve ever had (and I travel often for work). Will never go back to OYO and would not recommend it.
- 5/5
The property staff tries to accommodate all your requests to the best of their abilities, very friendly!! We are returning guests!!
- 5/5
Great location, clean hotel!
- 2/5
The room was poor in the following ways: very small; insufficient AC; very uncomfortable mattress; noisy box springs making it hard to sleep; tiny bathroom in which it was challenging to turn around; bad soundproofing where door closings in hallway was very loud making it hard to sleep. I will never return.
- 4.5/5
Locatuon, price No early check in
- 4/5
Maria checked us in. She was marvellous throughout our stay…very helpful without being pushy.
- 3/5
Great location, small rooms, air conditioning not cooling enough, friendly staff, overall it was a nice stay
- 2/5
Dirty, it looks nothing like the pictures. Smells bad. Shower pressure is super low. Had to fight to get toilet paper. So much noise, staff not friendly. Definitely not recommending this hotel.
- 3/5
Bed makes too much noise and is bent. Couldn't even turn without it making a bunch of noise. My bed more noise then Timesquare.
- 5/5
Exceptional
- 2/5
Unfortunately, there was very little that I liked about the property, as the room, service, and overall experience did not meet expectations. The room was extremely compact and much smaller than expected. The bed was positioned only inches away from both the window and the toilet area, making the space feel cramped and uncomfortable. Basic amenities that are commonly provided by hotels were missing, including a kettle, complimentary tea and coffee, and bottled water. The upstairs corridors appeared old and poorly maintained, and the carpets looked dirty. I also found what appeared to be a price tag left behind by a previous guest on the floor near the waste bin, which raised concerns about the standard of housekeeping. The overall room was very basic and offered poor value for money. While it provided a place to sleep, it fell far short of expectations given the price we paid. The service was equally disappointing. The receptionist who checked us in was unwelcoming and unfriendly. During check-in, she asked for my first name, but when I mistakenly provided my surname because I had not heard her clearly, she responded abruptly by saying, “I am asking for your first name.” She then informed me that a US$100 deposit was required and asked, “Are you giving me cash or card?” without explaining the purpose of the deposit. After checking into the room, we contacted reception to report that the air-conditioning unit was extremely loud and requested that someone inspect it. Unfortunately, nobody came to the room to address the issue. Considering we paid US$575.33 for just one night, the experience represented very poor value for money. We have stayed in far better properties for less. Based on this experience, we would not return and would not recommend this hotel to family or friends.
- 4/5
Good overall. Great location. Comfortable room. Courteous and friendly staff.
- 4/5
Great location if your going to Broadway Shows. Staff was friendly. Rooms are tiny but space is at a premium there. No fridge or way to get ice from what I could see if those are things you care about. Probably wouldn't stay there if I was with a family. But if you want to spend less on lodging and need something that gets the job done this is a great place. No issues with my AC or outside noise.
- 3/5
I like its close proximity to Broadway. That's it.
- 2/5
This hotel is a much older hotel. It was clean enough, but do not expect it to be pristine. Upon arrival, I was given a room that was already occupied and walked into luggage open on the bed. I was given another room that had poor water pressure and limited hot water. The staff was nice and helpful during the stay. My main issue is checkout. I still have not be refunded my security deposit for two rooms. I have called customer service multiple times. They say it has been released. I have sent them my credit card statements with the charges and showing no refund from the hotel. I have to call them back every time. They never follow up with me with any progress. When I call the hotel directly, I can never get any one to answer the phone. I checked out in March of 2026 and still do not have my refund in June.
- 4/5
When I arrived at the hotel the room wasn’t ready. Check in time was 3pm I just got there to early. Once I got my room the air condition wasn’t working and the city had the water off. The water didn’t come back on until about 8 or 9pm. The staff moved me to another room where the tv wasn’t working but, yet again they replaced it a new one out the box. So, even though I had some hiccups they made sure they fixed it. So and the end of the day I was happy.
- 4/5
Very good
- 4/5
Two elevators which are super tiny, also rooms are very small and the bed frames will hurt if you run in to them, hot water was spotty. However seredipity is right down stairs, staff is amazing and the location is a can’t beat for the price
- 1.5/5
Great location Rooms are not the cleanest, blinds were faling apart, beds were awful, sidewalk would have been more comfortable. Not enough towels for a double queen room.
- 2/5
Low water pressure in the shower along with the water being cold
- 4/5
Hotel was in the perfect location, staff was helpful, Maria was the best.
- 3/5
Smaller, older rooms. Bed, pillows thin and uncomfortable. Bathrooms older, towels small and forget about any water pressure in the shower. We had no hot water for the first four hours and when we did get it, it was a trickle. Maintenance came to look at it and said they would be back to fix it, but it was a pacifier because they never showed up again. Will never stay in again.
- 1/5
Very poor
- 5/5
Room was old and beds were basically on Springs and the bedframe was squeaky. The entire place was old and dated and dirty. The elevator you can barely fit four people .
- 3/5
and Maria at the desk was particularly helpful. Air conditioning worked well. Our room safe did not work and shower was out of body wash. If you want a basic stay (especially if you're only sleeping in the room and will be out and about all day and evening) this will do just fine. It's not phenomenal but for the price, it's okay.
- 4/5
Vey nice
- 2/5
Worst bed ever. Nothing in room but bed and bathroom. Weird. Uncomfortable. Do not recommend
- 3/5
Amazing location. The room was very basic and tiny. I guess that’s to be expected in NYC. The bed frames were horrible. Our poor legs were tired of hitting them by the end of our stay. It was ok though bc we were pretty much just in the room to sleep. Location made up for the small room.
- 3/5
El Aire acondicionado sonaba muy fuerte pero de lo demás bien
- 4/5
I liked the staff who were very helpful
- 3/5
The hotel needs to be upgraded. The bathroom is small and antique. The sink is as old as the 70s. The bathroom tile is old, which makes it look dirty. There is no place to put anything. The beds in the room were comfortable but noisy. Every time you moved, there was a noise as if all the springs needed greasing. There was nothing else in the room, such as a cabinet, desk, or table, or even a small refrigerator. The safe was broken. They fixed it, but it did not work. I decided not to use it.
- 2/5
The room also did not have a fridge so I ended up throwing a lot of my food out. Also had 2 times in the mornings where someone was able to open my door. It was not hotel staff because immediately after they opened the door, they yelled sorry. Not sure how their keys opened my door, but if I wouldn’t have had the lock on, they would have been able to just walk in. I did love how close it was to Times Square. Made things a lot easier!

Room was very small.i am wheelchair bound and room too small to get chair in and beagle to move around for my disability.
- 3.5/5
No complimentary water or drinks for sale available in the room
- 5/5
Nice place, small rooms but nice!
- 3/5
Front desk was very friendly, helpful, and attentive. Great location in the midst of Times Square. I shared a King "Deluxe" room with my mom. The room and bathroom are very small. Just enough space for the bed itself. Was also charged a "facilities/resort fee" for amenities like internet. I guess it's worth the price for Times Square, but anywhere else would not cut it.
- 1/5
The property is in terrible conditions - I have pictures. While the staff was lovely and helpful, DO NOT BOOK this hotel. Dirty rooms, terrible bathrooms and Expedia ( understanding is the middle man ) charged me 1600 USD for two bedrooms two nights. It is a total joke - look at the shades on the window and the duct tape !!!! It is absolutely unacceptable. The lifts are super small and very very slow. The only positives are location and staff but the rooms are miserable... and I am a very well traveled person, believe me. Again, DO NOT BOOK. AVOID THIS PLACE.
- 1/5
This hotel needs to be shut down! The room was nasty. The shower was filty. I could not use it. Rust and very dirty. The air conditioner made a very loud noise. when I reported to staff. they shook their heads and said they were begging the owners to make repairs and the owner refused. Hotels.com refused to help when I asked for refund. OYO guest relations also refused to help. Beware and book here at your risk!
- 3/5
The room was dusty , some outlets were not working , elevator too small but there is 2 elevators ! Staff was nice !
- 5/5
Yes
- 1/5
Location is good. Bed was thin and squeaky on a basic metal frame. Pillows were flat. Towels were tiny. For sure- not comfortable at all. Even if you are just asking basic accommodations like sleep.
- 2/5
Air conditioning barely worked
- 4/5
Location was the best part about this place.. literally right on the Time Square plaza.. great places to eat and close to the subway line
- 3/5
Everything was fine air conditioner worked. The bathroom was clean. Everything function well the only issue I had was the television picture would cut out after two minutes of turning on the TV and there was no microwave in the room.
- 3/5
What is that????
- 3/5
The air conditioning wasn’t the best in our room.
- 5/5
The Serendipity restaurant in the hotel was really a highlight. Room was small, but it was fine- clean with climate control that was in good shape. Super location, was able to walk everywhere. Friendly staff as well to talk to.
- 1/5
- 3/5
Nice lobby! The room had all that you need for a short stay, extremely budget friendly no frills. Will be great if the carpets and bed got upgraded!
- 4/5
We enjoyed our stay, the room was spacious for the location, regrettably the beds weren’t the comfiest.
- 5/5
My air conditioner did not ever cool the room
- 5/5
The staff was nice! The rooms were alright, not really updated and old but it was clean.
- 3/5
Great location and friendly staff. However, rooms are tiny, bed not very comfortable and washroom cramped.
- 1/5
The property needs an update and fast it’s horribly disgusting and dirty mold plus jagged edges plus I’m pretty sure I saw blood on the railing
- 4/5
Locación excelente, limpieza y servicio excelente pero los cuartos son pequeños.
- 2/5
Location near Times Square if that is what you are looking for. The room was directly opposite the signage for a theater and the blinds didn’t work so it was like daylight all night. The TV also didn’t work.
- 3/5
Staff nice. Bed ok. Lukewarm water in shower with empty body wash bottle. Air/heat so loud I turned it off. Carpet was dirty. The room/halls could use a fresh coat of paint
- 4/5
Negatives : Was it a bit run down - yes (a new paint job would really help); Did one of the metal bed frames squeak - yes (but not the other one); Were the rooms small - yes (and I think that is shown in the photos); Did housekeeping forget to leave a toilet paper roll - yes (called down and they brought us a roll); were the towels small and thin - yes; was AC Unit loud - yes (but worked well); was our view bad in the 2nd floor room - yes (but not inportant to us) Positives : Late Check In (we flew in from CA and arrived at 1:30am); added safety with limited access elevators; mattresses were comfortable; able to leave our luggage after checking out to still explore before we headed to the airport; classic revolving doors
- 3/5
Small room and loud. Bed was making noises.
- 4/5
Room was clean and tidy, very basic - no kettle or cups. The bed was a little lumpy, but the size of the room was very good for the location. It is literally in the middle of Times Square and fully soundproofed!
- 5/5
Tout était parfait
- 2/5
Good location but thats where it ends. Marked as a 3/4 star hotel and the room was a 2 at best. Bed was basically a cot. There were holes in the walls. I travel to NYC often and would not recommend this hotel.
- 3/5
Felt pretty unclean. The room was VERY small and my bathroom was poorly cleaned. Bed was not comfortable.
- 5/5
central, cleanliness and friendly staff
- 1/5
Unless its an emergency just dont do it. Over priced motel. Dirty and out of date. Major repairs needed. Ac/heat unit was so loud I could barely sleep. No real privacy as there are huge gaps under the doors and you can hear EVERYTHING. Just don't
- 4/5
Small rooms, horrible elevator.
- 4/5
The hotel was very cute and clean. The hostel staff was very nice. The roads are very small and need to be updated a little bit but overall we had a really good day. I would stay there again great location to Times Square.
- 4/5
Great location if you want to be near Times Square. Rooms are good size with basic amenities but no refrigerator. The bed is not sturdy, creaks when you move. If you just need a place to stay near Broadway and TimeSquare this is a great alternative.
- 1/5
Tiny rooms. Air shaft view only. Zero amenities. Nothing to justify the additional daily $51 + “facility fee”
- 2/5
Dingy outdated room with a lumpy old bed with deep ruts. Hot water in the shower had to run for 5 minutes before turning warm each time.
- 3/5
The staff was amazing. The venue is old and worn out. There is one elevator, I waited 10 minutes to get to my floor. Housekeeping does a good job of making it as clean as possible, but the bed creaks, and the rugs are in need of replacement. As is everything in the room. Although it was not cheap, for a NYC hotel room, it was affordable. The room was quiet. TV worked well.
- 4/5
Good location
- 2/5
The location was wonderful. Steps away from restaurant, shopping, shows, concerts. The room was small, the shower leaked water all over the floor, the blinds were broken, windows dirty, bed was squeaky, walls were dirty, the furniture was old and flimsy/
- 5/5
Excellent location.
- 3/5
Room was very dirty and run down. Smaller than depicted in picture. Very conveniently located though.
- 3/5
But this hotel is truly only if you need a mattress to sleep on. Even then the mattress is thin. The bed frames are wobbly and they creak at every movement. The room are in need of a deep clean for sure but it wasn’t crazy bad. No fridge no counters other than 2 small side tables. Room are small!!! Barely any room to walk and my bf kept bumping into the tv while leaving the room. ——— So I would recommend if all you need is a bed to sleep on and like to be right on Times Square. Other than that I would look for another hotel.
- 3/5
But to much noise could not sleep
- 3/5
The hotel needs some work. Lobby looks nice but as soon as you get near elevators you see it’s not very clean and walls are very beat up. Elevators hold maybe 3-4 people and it takes forever to get to your floor. The rooms are dingy and dusty. The A/C sucks and it’s either freezing or hot. No in between. Very loud at night with construction happening all night long. Horrible water pressure in showers. As we were leaving for the airport a worker in the lobby tried to convince us to take a “discounted taxi” through the hotel and took us out to an unmarked SUV and said it would be $75. We said no and took a taxi instead for $60.
- 1/5
asked for a fridge and microwave and never got it. wasted food
- 5/5
We loved our stay, the staff was great, super nice and helpful would defenitely stay here again.
- 3/5
Also no hair dryer in my room.

Fabulous stay

Very quiet and very nice
- 4/5
This place was really about location. And it's located in the heart. Very walkable distance to all the Broadway shows, good restaurants, & Central Park. Nothing much to the room. There was a bed & a tiny closet. No coffee pot/tea & we had no view of anything except a wall. The room was freezing when we entered- 50 degrees. It was so uncomfortable that I had to walk in & out of room waiting for it to warm up. The staff was friendly & responsive to any questions and concerns. I loved that they have a later check-out (12:00pm) They also stored our luggage after check-out because our flight didn't leave until 5:00pm. Small hotel with only 2 elevators..Cute restaurant next door. Would definitely stay again for the price and location.
- 3/5
Starting with the positive: the location is great. It was very accessible for the sight seeing we wanted to do in the city. The staff were friendly, helpful and quick with bag holding, check in and check out. The elevator was also very fast. Our room was surprisingly large (2 queen beds) and the beds were firm, but comfortable after a long day of walking. The bedding was fresh and clean. The room was also a good temp. The negatives: there is WEAR on this property. The chairs in the lobby and our room were worn and had stains. The floor was lumpy in our room. The shower curtain had stains on it. There was some paint chipping on the windows. Speaking of the windows: these were not insulated glass to block noise. There was construction all night long: jackhammering, loud banging, grinding literally the entire night long. Only my child was able to sleep and that’s because she’d walked 20,000 steps that day. None of the adults got much sleep. To be fair- this hotel was fairly inexpensive and we were only there for one night. The hotel also can’t control exterior noise. So it was fine: 2 stars and a middle of the road ranking feels fair to me.

FLY/NATS IN SHOWERS. HAIR IN “CLEAN TOWELS” Stains on bed sheets. Weird smell coming out shower drain. Rude security guard AND front desk workers. The ONLY convenient thing is the location being in Times Square. Other than that throw it away. And the lobby looks nice, but the rooms are like little jail cells. I wouldn’t recommend this place to a wicked man. OHH and a cleaner opened my door while I was in bed because I didn’t respond to “housekeeping”. ( this was around 9am BEFORE the 12pm checkout time). I’ve NEVER in my life written a review. But this place right here. Nah I want my refund—still waiting for them to respond to my email sent DAYS AGO. Be careful with this catfish place.

Staff was nice but the hotel is small and old. Beds are stiff and not comfortable
- 1/5
Rudest front desk person Maria so well rehearsed on explains the extra cost only visible after she pulls of 3 screens. Check in took over an hour. The rooms pictured were either aI or from another property. More false info. To pass to the 2nd bed you need to be a very small person and drop your head to not hit the tv. No dresser, the bathroom had mounds of mold . Dirt on the walls in the room also. Rude maria at check in was doing nothing and just making me wait for fun. Until I showed her proof of a medical situation and need to get a room, it then took a second to getting a key. The only plus was the very nice man at luggage hold, always smiling, seemed to always be there. Stay far away from this property unacceptable in every way… lies at every turn

Bastante aburrido , una habitación pequeña, olor horrible , baño a medio limpiar , la cama parecía de alambre , sin duda de los peores lugares en los que me he hospedado.
- 1/5
Hidden $140/night fees whether you pay ahead of time or not!
- 3/5
Clean Room, near Shops and Dennis tried to accommodate due to TV not working in rm#701 and then moved to rm#401 but the heat did not work in that room so we were given a portable heater
- 5/5
There really aren't too many amenities but that is not why we chose this hotel. It was perfectly located for our needs (shows and shopping). The rooms are small so will probably need two rooms for a family of four, but I was able to get a last minute room for a great deal. Would definitely visit again.
- 5/5
The staff members were nice and friendly. When we arrived with an early flight they didn’t have any rooms available to do early check in but they did have an option whereas they keep your bags so you can explore the city until time to check in. However, at around 2ish we came back and they had a room ready along with a free upgrade. The luggage man, front staff, and housekeeping were great and helpful! The only downside was the room carpets need to be cleaned but it wasn’t too bad just kept my shoes on. The shower water was extra hot which was amazing. I can go on on but the stay was a 10/10.
- 5/5
The hotel
- 4/5
Great location for a decent price. The elevator was very slow and had to wait a while for it, the property itself can use a slight upgrade but again for the pricing it was good overall.
- 1/5
I was not comfortable. First and last time!
- 4/5
Ok Hotel in a great location at the best price.
- 4/5
The only good thing about this property is its location and overall cleanliness. We traveled in summer 2025 and the staff was unhelpful, if not rude. We asked to hold our luggage before check in and after check out only to find it hanging out in the lobby at some point without any supervision. There are only a couple elevators in the building and they take very long time to arrive, so if you can, book lower floors and just use the stairs to save yourself waiting full 5 minutes for a small elevator to arrive. with people checking in and out all the time, its hard to fit in one of those anyway. The rooms are tiny tiny. Yes, its new york, so its not surprising, but the bed took about 90% of the room which wasnt obvious on the photos (we had a king bed room). The room description (at least at the time) mentioned a mini fridge, which wasnt there but the staff did supply us with one, which didnt really fit into the room and we had to jump over it to get on the bed. AC was very strange too. in a few nights we spent there we couldnt figure out how to make the room not hot as hell or freezing cold, so we kept switching between the two. the bathroom didnt have a single place to put your makeup near the sink and we ended up flipping the trash bin upside down and using it as a low shelf. All and all, it is not a terrible place, but wasn't very good, even for new york. Better than Gallivant, but if you are okay with a tiny tiny room, i d recommend checking out the Pods instead.
- 1/5
friendly staff but terrible bed, and unclean
- 1/5
No pool
- 5/5
Tiny room, but the perfect crash pad for the area of NY I needed to be in for my trip.
- 5/5
Very friendly staff. The front desk attendant (Diana or Maria) was very kind and helpful. Even gave my daughter some fresh cookies at check in. Danny the floor attendant was kind and responsive. Our double double room had squeaky beds that slept well. Great central location to subways and the madness of Times Square. Would definitely stay again.
- 1/5
We did not feel safe at this hotel. A man who was not a guest was trying to gain access to a room key and was allowed to loiter in the lobby and public bathroom. The room conditions were very old and dirty. I absolutely would not stay here.
- 4/5
Excellent location and great value for the price. A place to sleep and shower. Beds were not that comfortable
- 1/5
WARNING!!!!! DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!Hotel was horrible! Not sanitary at all! Rooms at hotel 6 would be better than staying at this hotel! The whole hallway smelled . When we checked in and saw the room, we IMMEDIATELY CHECKED OUT!!!! I was traveling with my 2 children and senior mother!
- 5/5
Clean room
- 4/5
Great little hotel in the middle of everything New York had to offer. Maria at the front desk has a great personality and it’s very helpful. Totally recommend this hotel.
- 5/5
N/a
- 4/5
Staff was excellent, friendly and helpful.
- 3/5
Practically IN Times Square, which is good. But be prepared for all night noise…beds were….no box spring. Really squeaky
- 5/5
The hotel was in a great place. The staff was nice. Check in and out was easy. Tip if staying let the water run for a little bit to allow for the water to warm up. I would definitely stay again.
- 3/5
On the not so positive front, the hotel is dated. The room I stayed in had duct tape around the window to seal it. The bed mattress was not comfortable for me.
- 1/5
The wasn't clean. The bed was terrible. The room was o small it looked like a prison cell. It had no nothing in it at all.
- 4/5
I was charge $179 more than full payment for hotel amenities. Hotel was old and not well maintained. Elevator hold 2 people + bags at best. LOCATION IS EXCELLENT!!
- 2/5
The rooms were small and restroom was dingy especially the shower
- 1/5
Bad staff and no AC
- 1/5
Not as expected
- 2/5
The bed frames are cheap and not sturdy. Overall I will not stay at this hotel again.
- 4/5
The room was poorly insulated and the room was cold. The heat was very noisy and we had to keep it on 80 for it to be remotely warm.
- 3/5
There were bugs in my shower and not very clean. Other than that it was a decent stay.
- 1/5
The room is dingy yeah and just overall looks dirty.
- 2/5
It was a really tiny, and run-down hotel. The only nice thing about it is the lobby. Would not recommend.
- 2/5
It is a shame they don’t update this hotel because if you need proximity near Time Square this is a good location.
- 4/5
Very clean room, well located. Quiet
- 5/5
The hotel was nice and the room was nice too especially for the price as compared to other hotels nearby and location was amazing!! Just steps away from Times Square. The area feels very safe even at night. The staff was helpful and friendly, they stored our luggage for free on day of checkout so we could walk around NYC a bit more. I'd definitely stay here again.
- 5/5
Super convenient to everything i wanted to do! The room was clean and the staff were welcoming.
- 2/5
Upon checking in, we found the room to be very damaged with dents, scratches and marks on the walls and baseboards of the room. In the bathroom, we found paint peeling from the walls and ceiling, hair that didn’t belong to us on the walls, mold in the cracks of the shower and in the shower the water would collect at the bottom and not drain properly. The wifi kept disconnecting when trying to do simple Google searches. The door of the room leading to the hallway would rattle when latched and locked. Staff were friendly but there wasn’t much interactions other than checking in and out. One of the most frustrating things is that this has been logged in their Google reviews and they say that they are sorry and have sent the review to management for them to address, however despite the reviews dating back months and months we still had a hotel room in poor condition.
- 3/5
The lobby was very nice and full of character, though you can tell the building is older. The windows were a bit drafty and didn’t provide much soundproofing. The bed itself was comfortable, but the pillows were extremely flat. Noise was an issue — you could clearly hear doors slamming from neighboring rooms. That said, for a short stay it was fine, and the location was excellent, with easy access to Times Square and Grand Central Station.
- 5/5
Perfect location in the heart of Times Square
- 1/5
No.Could be much better.
- 5/5
Property was ok. You would hear doors slamming all through the night but I really was ok.
- 5/5
Perfect location!!
- 2/5
Check into a room with people all ready in it
- 3/5
Needs updating very old property
- 2/5
You get what you pay. The room had a window to nowhere.
- 1/5
Received a $200 extra charge on my card
- 3/5
The hotel was in a perfect location and was clean but the rooms were so small that you hit your shins on the bedframes trying to get around them. You have about 2ft between the beds and probably less than that between the foot of the bed and the wall.
- 2/5
Room was not clean
- 1/5
very old dirty furniture in all lobby areas, no ice machine had to get ice nexxt door or somewhere else. Tv in room dint work had to move rooms!
- 5/5
Clean room. Nice staff. Great location. However: no refrigerator. No Ice machine in entire hotel. The drain in the shower was incredibly slow, causing the shower floor to fill with water during the shower. All in all a nice place!
- 2/5
Location is perfect. The rooms are uncomfortable and run-down. They are also smaller rooms, which is normal in NY, so I didn't take off for that. I only stayed one night, and I got up earlier than I had planned so I could get out of there quickly. Only stay here if you literally have nowhere else to go.
- 5/5
Personal was amazing and very helpful I will recommend 100%
- 2/5
The first room had a broken tv, door, and bed. We requested a room change to the second room having a broken bed and fan in the bathroom. We could hear the NYC life as if we were outside. No insulation between us and the outside world. Not worth the price per night.
- 4/5
Room was small. Took forever to check in. Otherwise, cute hotel in the middle of everywhere.
- 5/5
The room was small and clean. The beds were very creaky but comfortable. It was quite warm in the room and we could not turn the temperature down at all. We were on the second floor and it was a little noisy outside the room until about midnight.
- 3/5
The beds are very squeaky. Anytime someone moved it was so loud both people would wake up. Non stop squeaking means poor sleep
- 1/5
The staff were great. The shower was stopped up with extremely slow drainage. Overnight stay so was worth the money.
- 5/5
Very small but clean room!! Staff was super friendly and helpful!:)
- 5/5
The room was clean and the staff was friendly, and the bonus part is that you're there in Times Square!
- 3/5
Staff were really nice. Bed was really squeaky.
- 5/5
Excellent
- 2/5
The tv did not work, the room was cold because the thermostat did not work , no bath rags to take a shower, disappointed for a hotel in manhattan
- 5/5
The rooms were clean and tidy, with comfortable beds and nice shower gel, shampoo and conditioner in the shower. Good service and no issues at all. Excellent location, which was why we picked it!
- 1/5
Staff was good besides manager, room had mold and dirty, dirty sheets with hair all over them floors dirty overall terrible room
- 4/5
So close to Times Square. Everything was convenient. Room was surprisingly quiet. Clean. Smallish elevators but all good
- 5/5
Staff was very courteous. Room temperature was perfect and blackout curtains were great. Location excellent
- 5/5
Excelente
- 5/5
Room was clean and staff was friendly.
- 5/5
Rooms need TLC
- 1/5
The rooms were very tiny. Despite this, my husband used a debit card to cover the hotel fees in case something breaks. He still hasn't gotten refunded for this. We've called the hotel multiple times & nobody seems to be able to take care of this. There's no manager to speak to and the email that they gave us bounces back & says its incorrect. He's out $180. I won't be coming back to this hotel EVER!
- 4/5
Great lobby! Helpful staff! Convenient location. Rooms really need an update. Small but who goes to NYC to stay inside?!
- 1/5
Provide us with the wrong room
- 5/5
Easy process and great location. Room is good for you need for a stay while you’re in the city
- 3/5
Great location but would not have it ranked as a 4-star hotel otherwise. The air conditioner/heater were very loud and the bathroom was not clean. Overall facilities could be updated.
- 5/5
room was great for the price and conveniently located walking distance from anything and everything. restaurant was also amazing
- 3/5
Rooms need to be upgraded
- 1/5
No TV, no appliances,no table to eat on, parking isn't free like it stated on the app. Rooms smaller than my closet. Just a waisted weekend trip... I will never stay there again
- 4/5
Room was cleaned daily.
- 5/5
Great for the price. Right next to time square.
- 4/5
room was fine. great value for location.
- 5/5
The first night our TV didn’t work… in fact it didn’t work the whole trip. Hopefully they will do some sort of credit, but they did apologize and make a few calls to try to get it fixed or replaced.
- 3/5
Terrible phone expense no-one ever
- 3/5
It was awful. Worst hotel ever
- 5/5
Breakfast available at attached restaurant
- 4/5
The location was great, and the staff was fantastic. The hotel is a bit dated and needs some updates.
- 4/5
All the staff were wonderful & the location was perfect.
- 2/5
Room is cheap. Bed is cheap no internet on the tv. Only reason why its even 2 stars was, the front desk early am check out on 1/19/26 was very helpful and friendly and the guy helping the bags storage. Checkin is a hustle took 30 mins for check in with 1 guy ahead of me. Another thing is the elevator so narrow it can only fit 2 check in and 2 carry with 2 people. No microwave, shower drainage is awful. Too many to mention. The only good thing facility wise is the lobby.
- 2/5
Beds were cheap metal frames that squeaked at every movement. The sink had large cracks developing. The shower area had bad water stains and just did not look inviting at all. The TV did not work. And they said sorry it can't be fixed, enjoy your night. Not a great experience.
- 4/5
Only problem was no heat in room and staff accommodated this with a portable heater.
- 4/5
Staff was amazing walls are super thin lmao rooms are smal but for the price your paying it’s worth it
- 3/5
Very basic room. Our heat didn’t work the first night. Got a heater the next day. Staff was friendly and attentive. They made the stay
- 1/5
.
- 4/5
Cleanliness was ok, yiy have turbover is high so theres a little bit of grime & dirt from previous patrons My huge beef is the Hotels.com ad says "free self-park" when you check in and pay your deposit then youre told by the front desk parking is 3 blocks aways at $40usd sedan/$50usd suv vans per night I have yet to be refunded by hotels.com
- 1/5
room horrible and bed was a mess
- 5/5
Maria was amazing. She made our stay perfect. Unfortunately Breakfast was not explained to us and we were not aware it was offered.
- 4/5
Room walls were dusty, otherwise clean. Surprisingly quiet for the front facing room we had. Staff was very friendly and accommodating
- 1/5
The rooms look nothing like the pictures. The walls were peeling off. Weird things were coming up from the toilet when you flushed. There were hairs in the bathroom. You can see through the ceiling. The smell was horrendous. We were afraid to even touch our feet on the floor. Better off just sticking to the main brands (Hilton, etc.)
- 3/5
Too expensive
- 3/5
Staff is great though. Awesome location.
- 2/5
We had two identical rooms reserved, one room was not the one we had booked. We got one room and hour and a half past checkin time. The tv didn't work in either room. Maria at the front desk was rude both times that I spoke with her. On a positive note, however, every other employee that we encountered was exceptional.
- 1/5
I absolutely hated everything about this hotel. The elevators were so slow and the smallest I have ever seen. Only 3-4 people could fit, and that’s it’s you had no luggage. The rooms were small as well. The bed, omg, the bed reminded me of a dorm room. Bolted to the wall and squeaked with the smallest of motion. The bathroom had absolutely no space to put anything! The tissue was almost to the floor in placement. The heater to the room made noise as soon as it clicked on. There was no hand soap but bar soap! This was the first hotel I’ve been to that had actual shower curtains, yuck! I hated it! Very dated and not clean. I slept on blankets we had on the flight. This was by far the worse hotel I’ve ever been too. Despite that, the staff was friendly and the expensive restaurant downstairs was cute, very pink, and the food wasn’t terrible. Would not recommend.
- 2/5
When I stayed there a few years ago I thought that it was clean and well maintained, but the management has really let it go. The paint on the floorboards in the hallway and on the elevator door was chipped and the paint was peeling in the bathroom. Also, the furniture in the lobby was worn and dirty. I also was surprised when i was charged a facility fee at check in because I thought I had already paid for the room in full. I think that this is a deceptive practice and Orbitz should require hotels to state the entire cost of the room up front.
- 2/5
Description says, "self-parking included." Wording is misleading. Parking is not included with your reservation. It is $40 a day. So be advised and factor that into the price when researching. Water takes an eternity to heat up. Heat in the room barely worked. TV did not function. Location, however, was spectacular.
- 2/5
The process is slow - nearly 10 minutes per guest. The line was to the door and there were only 2 people doing the check ins. The black out curtains were worn and had several holes in them, making the windows speckled with light at night. The hot water took over 5 minutes to get warm. The heating unit worked fine but was obnoxiously loud.
- 1/5
No heat and it was 18 degrees and they didn’t help
- 1/5
Unsafe, Rude staff members. Incompetent staff and management.
- 2/5
Room stinks. Room is dirty.
- 2/5
If you get a little earlier than you check in, they want to charge you $75.00 to go in an hour earlier. Also, the rooms are horribly small that I couldn't open my suitcase, and the bathrooms are moldy and dirty. The shower was filthy, and the towels provided were very old and had lost their threath.
- 1/5
Worst hotel ever, not breakfast included, way too expensive. After you pay the hotel you need to pay a fee at the check in, the hotel said “view at the city” and when we get there we saw two white walls. Not parking included, the bed was way too cheap, when you move it sounds, the mattress super uncomfortable. Not clean at all, I didn’t even wanted to touch the windows because of the dirty, the pictures didn’t match the hotel at all. Not recommended 0 stars out of 5. NOT RECOMMENDED!!!
- 4/5
Amazing staff!! Room was chilly despite the heat being on and high, better windows definitely needed, other than this, no complaints!
- 2/5
Bathroom shower was dirty and unusable. No bar fridge and single plain windows so a draft came through the window so we slept in sweaters. Would not stay hear again.
- 5/5
The staff here was amazing with every interaction. The room is small and bed is mid but the location makes up for it. The lobby can get a little busy because of the restaurant attached which wasn’t ideal. Overall, would stay again and appreciate the staff!
- 2/5
Room, no housekeeping and payed for a service fee and got no service
- 4/5
staff is great
- 5/5
Excellent location!
- 1/5
No breakfast, room had a blood stain on the dirty carpet, bed frame was broken and zip tied together, holes in the walls with mismatched paint. Complained to desk and was told to complain to Expedia. Hallway was unpainted and leaking water with holes in ceiling and spackled everywhere, including on carpets. Broken camera hanging from the ceilings and worker was in the hallway after hours at 10 pm in and out of rooms working? Outdated Heating system barely worked and was so loud you can’t sleep. I have pics and videos of this atrocity to support my review. Stay anywhere but here. OYO stands for own your own which is exactly what you are once they swipe your credit card. Beware.
- 5/5
Great location.
- 3/5
The housekeeping staff is good
- 1/5
I paid extra for a bigger room, was given a smaller one, parking was closed, when I could have parked next door. We’re in NewYork city parking is expensive, right. It was good for one night.
- 4/5
Staff were great and room was spacious and clean!
- 4/5
The room was clean, but the bed frame squeaked when you got into bed. The room was tiny—no microwave, coffee pot, or desk. The door was noisy when you opened it. The TV had a tear in the screen.
- 2/5
Very good location, not the best if you are looking for good rest
- 3/5
The room was nice but everything’s too old. The bathroom was moldy and there was 0 sound proof. The AC was loud as well, the elevator tight
- 5/5
Location Location Location!! It was perfect and the on-site restaurant was an experience all by itself. Pleasing to the eyes, staff were present available and pleasant.
- 4/5
Convenient walking to shops and time square.
- 1/5
After repeatedly reporting the problem, I was told there was a system issue. Dennis specifically stated that the $44 facility charge would be refunded due to the inconvenience and unacceptable conditions. Later, I was informed that no refund would be issued, meaning I was lied to, and I received no reimbursement or compensation of any kind despite the situation. I was still charged the facility fee even though I never received a clean, usable room. This experience was extremely frustrating and unprofessional. Being moved multiple times, promised a refund, and then denied it entirely is unacceptable.
- 5/5
Yes
- 3/5
Walls snd floors need repairs and painted, rug replacement.
- 3/5
While the location was decent and having Serendipity next door was fun, I would not stay here again. The beds were wobbly and thin, the towels were a step up from a hand towel. The pics were cute online, but in person it's very different.
- 4/5
Staff were really friendly, cannot fault the location at all. Room was a bit dated, but it was mainly just somewhere to sleep when not exploring the city! I’d visit again.
- 4/5
Staff and location were outstanding
- 3/5
Rooms were much smaller than in the pictures, walls very very thin, bed comfy but squeaky
- 3/5
Great location and staff lovely but rooms are tiny and very poorly maintained. We had an enjoyable stay for the price over Christmas but an eye mask and earplugs are mandatory with all the flashing lights and noise.
- 2/5
Do not book here. The rooms do not look like the photos. Our bed squeaked even if you breathed. Facilities broken, offering no replacement and rudeness from staff when asking for some water. The bathroom fan was louder than a helicopter. Sure the only positive is its right near time square but I would recommend to book elsewhere for a better stay. Did not feel clean.
- 4/5
Doorman and luggage holding!
- 5/5
Do not use the parking garages on this street. They jack the price up way to high. Other than that, the hotel itself is amazing
- 2/5
Yes room felt neglected, carpet smelled, tv didn’t work, room was extremely small, heater was not working efficiently cause room was still very cold.
- 5/5
Nice
- 2/5
Staff was friendly. But the room was cold with only a little space heater as the only controllable source of heat. Bathroom and shower were not clean at all. Perhaps I just got a bad room. Affordability for the location is the only draw here with OYO.
- 1/5
the experience was very disappointing. The room was not clean and had a strong urine smell, despite being told it was the best room available. When I requested to cancel, the staff member said the manager would handle the cancellation the next morning. However, after contacting Expedia, the cancellation was refused. Overall, poor service and lack of transparency. I would not recommend this property.
- 5/5
Did not have breakfast
- 4/5
Staff was amazing. TV didn’t work but we weren’t there to watch TV.
- 3/5
Toilets in lobby were a disgrace.
- 1/5
The worst hotel stay I’ve ever had. Dirty, walls had unpainted patches, stairwell locked, extremely long wait for elevator, room small and dirty, extremely cheap bedding.
- 4/5
Room was adequate and clean and right next to times square. The location is the best part if you want to be right in it at the heart of Manhattan and all you need to use the room for is a place to sleep
- 1/5
We booked a double deluxe room which was supposed to be two queen beds. We were given two full size beds with zero ability to walk around the room. The staff at the hotel did not attempt to resolve this issue.
- 2/5
clean room but staff not the best
- 3/5
The room is too small. The staff and location is good
- 4/5
$300 deposit back , I have emailed but no response as yet .. annoying!!!!!
- 1/5
Not as pictured
- 2/5
Room was freezing, bathroom dated, bed very squeaky, air conditioner loud as a jet-engine… not what you would expect… and certainly not at $750/night
- 1/5
Terrible hotel, it’s a scam. It’s extremely expensive and dirty. They charged me almost $1,000 for a supposed smoking incident, and no alarm ever went off and no one smoked. They added the charge after checkout. I tried contacting the hotel but the manager is never available, and they just tell you to dispute the transaction with your bank. I will never stay at this hotel again and I don’t recommend anyone staying there. The pictures are not real and the bathroom was dirty
- 3/5
Prime location adjacent to Time Sq. Excellent staff, especially the cleaners who did an amazing job against adversity. Comfortable bed. Bad: Windows leaked air, -8c outside and we had to request extra blankets due to the badly fitting windows. Shower was tired and dated as was the decor and furnishings. Our room was described as a Deluxe King so we naturally expected higher quality than we got.
- 4/5
Great location for NYC. Could hear traffic noise, but expected.
- 2/5
Rooms were supposedly recently renovated but paint was peeling, shower didn’t drain properly, and caulk was damaged in bathroom. Bathroom tiles filthy. The “heat” was on but it was just circulating cold air throughout the room in the middle of winter so I was freezing all night. Requested a late checkout of 12:30 so I could grab some extra sleep after a late night of work, but housekeepers banged on my door right at noon anyway.
- 3/5
Maria was fantastic. She remembered our names and was very helpful. As far as the hotel? Not worth the money. Furniture in lobby was dirty and old. Ice machine was broken, no coffee or breakfast available.
- 2/5
The heat was not working. The towels are paper thin.
- 1/5
I received a large sum of in unauthorized transactions from the hotel and when trying to get a hold of their support they have not helped
- 3/5
Rooms are basic but relatively clean. Excellent location with a 1 minute walk to Tines Square.
- 2/5
Room disgusting with stained moldy torn shade, wall and mold paint chipped.
- 2/5
The property is affordable and very well located for walking to many notable ny locations. The lobby and bar area are very attractive and well maintained. However, once you go beyond the lobby, the elevators hallways and rooms are sparse, small, and need some maintenance. Our particular room had a seperation between windowpanes which made the room very cold and the road noise very loud. The linens and shades were all thread bare and and small. The shower was mildewed.
- 3/5
We have stayed at the OYO twice. You can't beat it for location; a literal.stone's throw from Times Square. We were disappointed this time, however, as our bed was extremely uncomfortable: thin matress and a very wobbly and janky bedframe. One of the legs was a piece of wood zip-tied to the frame! The rooms.could.definitely do.with an upgrade. If you just need a place to sleep and don't plan on being in your room very much, this place is pretty good.
- 5/5
Okay
- 3/5
The room was small and not very clean
- 2/5
You were practically in the shower curtain while trying to shower. Room needs refreshed, air system was very loud and woke us up each time it came on. You could forgive all the scratches and dirty feeling of the room if there was a decent bed. Unfortunately if you are looking for a comfortable bed. You’re outta luck. Unless spring frames are your thing and you like the feeling of falling out of the bed every time your partner moves…..then this is your spot
- 3/5
Make Things are Working
- 2/5
Rooms were too small no amenities like refrigerator coffee maker no bottle water price too expensive for no amenities
- 1/5
Hotel needs improvement, looks gross and stains everywhere. And while i was in the middle of showering, brown water starts coming out and when i told the front desk when i was checking out, and showed her photos, she didnt even apoligized and asked me if i called maintenance.
- 3/5
Cobwebs in bathroom window. Room could be a little bigger. Felt like I was in the hall.
- 5/5
Needs ice machine access. Otherwise a nice stay. Simple bit all that i needed
- 5/5
Very good
- 4/5
Hotel muy céntrico...necesita mejorar la calidad de las camas.
- 4/5
The room was small, but it was just 2 of us so it felt very comfortable. Staff were very nice and even left us a microwave outside our room when we asked, as there are no microwave’s inside the rooms. I will say there was no hot water to shower with, it was warm-cold. Room was cleaned very well on your 3rd day there and they very much respect your privacy.
- 4/5
Location is excellent for proximity to Times Square
- 5/5
Great Place
- 5/5
Otherwise the hotel is few steps from Timesquare. The street noise is barely non existent apart from NYPD and FDNY sirens. Would not hesitate to book again.
- 2/5
The staff at the front desk on the best days were short and direct and on average days we're just down right rude. I do not feel as though the price matched the level or lack thereof for the room. It is close to Broadway and Times Square which is great for the location but I would never recommend this hotel.
- 2/5
The only thing saving this hotel was the staff (well some of them). The hotel is insanely overpriced for what it is, mould in the bathroom, broken plug sockets, even little things like no bed side table is just something you’d expect from a “4 star hotel”… it’s a 2 star AT BEST. Don’t waste your money, go 20 minutes away from time-square and you’ll be happier for it.
- 4/5
Price was a bit hot for the quality of room. Worth every penny for the location. Beautiful lobby area. Italian lady checked us in and she was fabulous, warm and welcoming. She’s a keeper! Bellman was courteous aswell.
- 1/5
Not as advertised, queen beds were full instead and they weren't pillow top as advertised. Broken lights, TV didn't work. The hotel was advertised as newly renovated. The room had missing grout,,range on walls and stains on the blind.
- 4/5
Beds/room were mediocre, but location was great (times square) for a reasonable price. Would recommend if you want to stay near times square on a budget. Hotel does not serve breakfast but there is a 24 hr dunkin donuts right across the street.
- 3/5
Have at least a vending machine for water. Room and bathroom cleanliness can improve. Bathrrom looked as it if had mold in the shower grout
- 5/5
Close to restaurants and theaters
- 3/5
Staff was friendly but room was filthy. Not sure why this hotel has 4 stars??
- 3/5
Pros: very centrally located, literally metres from Times Square so excellent for transport and entertainment. The recreates is clean, spacious and nicely decorated Cons: temporary sign on the front of the building makes the hotel look very cheap and low budget, it appeared to be a tarpaulin sheet tied to the wall. Our room was on the 9th floor and overlooked an alleyway. The window frames were rotten in places with cold air getting in. The room was TINY, barely enough space to walk around the bed to get to the bathroom. The furniture was cheap and poor quality, the flimsy metal bed frame creaked and squeaked with every movement in the bed. The bathroom was very small and strangely laid out - the toilet roll holder was located on a wall under a sink which required a contortion to access. The room was so small anyone over 5’6” will have their knees touching the wall when sat on the loo. The shower had seen better days and had broken / cracked tiles. Hot water felt like a luxury with most days starting with a cold shower. Sadly the hotel fell short in most of the areas we consider to be ‘non-negotiables’ when booking a place to stay and, whilst not the most expensive place to stay, it certainly wasn’t the cheapest either. We won’t be returning.
- 2/5
The location and front desk staff was great BUT the room was VERY unclean, dust everywhere, sheets didn’t look very white, almost like dirt in them, the shower walls had strands of hairs from guest before and sink was dirty. Felt very uncomfortable.
- 3/5
Bed lumpy
- 5/5
Everything was great. Staff, rooms were spacious. Would stay again.
- 2/5
Room was dirty.
- 5/5
Maria was the best. So helpful and great energy to be around. Would def come back to stay here.
- 2/5
The only benefit was the location outside of that of very poor amenity
- 2/5
Not good . That is why I rated it low
- 1/5
It’s amazing there weren’t bed bugs. Leaves so much to be desired. Very loud street noise. No blackout curtains.
- 5/5
To keep it simple we had a blast love the location the service and will be looking forward to our next stay at OYO Times Square
- 3/5
Hotel is conveniently located and affordable. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The property is worn down and could use some renovations. Breakfast was not available but there’s many options for food just outside.
- 5/5
Shoutout Maria!!! she made me give 5 start rating.
- 3/5
The location is perfect as long as you are okay staying super close to Time Square. The lobby bathroom look like airport bathrooms. The couches from the lobby are cracked and the lobby overall seems dirty. It definitely looked better in pictures. The staff seemed friendly enough.
- 1/5
The room was the size of the bed. That's all there was. There was barely hot water and no water pressure for showers. The elevator was so small, I used the stairs. NYC is expensive but there has to be somewhere better than this
- 4/5
Weekends are so busy and lots of noise if you sleep early. The location is excellent, right at the Time Square .
- 3/5
The staff is amazing and very helpful ! Everyone working there is so kind and sweet. Reason why I’m putting okay is the quality of the room - no cover on the duvets, the shower is very bad and cold, and the beds are broken! But if you need a cheap place to stay it’s perfect for that and it’s in a good location.
- 1/5
Room was dirty, duct tape used to keep windows closed, paper thin towels, barely any hot water from shower and very low pressure. Walls and doors are paper thin, can hear everything happening in the hallway. Charged $800 USD for smoking in the room even though we are NON-smokers. Only positive is the front desk staff, they were very friendly and helpful. After about 1.5 hours of discussing false charges, they were able to reverse them.
- 3/5
The size of the room was good, location was great. However, the cleanliness of the rooms were mid. I did also ask for extra blankets and towels and they were not provided after asking a few times.
- 2/5
The room was not properly cleaned, no chair or desk in the room and no refrigerator to store beverages. The towels were terrible and the bed noisy as hell and uncomfortable 0/10 in this.
- 4/5
Staff was very helpful and attentive. We did attempt to early check in but couldn't - thankfully they hold luggage as an alternative, this was very helpful.
- 5/5
Was a good location and Maria at the front desk was awesome!
- 3/5
There was never hot water all four days. The towels were so worn you could see through them. Cracked window with a torn shade. I had a TV but had to ask for a remote that didn’t work.
- 3/5
The staff were lovely throughout our stay! I thought the $100 per night deposit was quite high, but it was released immediately upon checkout which was great. The room was very small. It didnt even have a wardrobe. The bed was quite uncomfortable and extremely squeeky. We had to ask reception to tighten the bed every day but it didnt really help. So it wasnt necessarily a relaxing stay but was fine as a place to sleep and shower. You really cant fault the location of the hotel for tourism and sightseeing. Its conveniently located nearby all subway lines so its a great base. It doesnt have the perks of higher star hotels, it looks a bit worn down and its a shame because with a bit more investment into the upkeep and quality of the furniture, it could be a great hotel! Overall, the hotel is fine. If you're looking for high quality you will be disappointed but if youre looking for a place to sleep in a really convenient location, OYO is a good option.
- 1/5
Stay away!
- 1/5
Shower just dripped. Paid almost $600 for two nights with the addition of excess fees.
- 2/5
The TV screen was cracked and didn't work. mattress and pillows were uncomfortable. Blanket was thin. bed frame was very noisy. very noisy pipes (or something in the walls). window drapes were visibly dirty. bathroom was a little grimey as well.
- 1/5
This hotel is terrible. The rooms look like prison cells. The beds are very uncomfortable and squeak with the tiniest movement. The safe in the room is just sitting on a table. You can just pick it up and leave with it. Our room was so hot we couldn’t get dressed without sweating. They couldn’t get it fixed and we had to pack up and move rooms. The towels are old, thin and dingy. The elevators are small and only one works. There is a $44/day facility fee, yet you get nothing for it
- 3/5
Safe in room did not work Bldg needs better elevators (very small and slow)
- 5/5
Like new restaurant Due to airport /weather I missed the first night of the trip Rescheduled flight thru American the next morning( all night in airport) Will pursue thru Expedia for reimbursement I have insurance
- 3/5
Problem was there were no chair, desk, hungers and hair dryer in the room. Best for just sightseeing.
- 5/5
Great location and great staff- Maria took great care of us at reception!
- 1/5
The room did not match the pictures- and didn’t match the ‘newly refurbished’ description on the website- only the foyer did
- 1/5
Looks nothing like the photos, and the hallway and elevator were extremely dirty/run down. The elevator was also tiny and took an extremely long time to operate and call.
- 4/5
For me, the most convenient thing was the location.
- 5/5
Amazingly
- 2/5
we would not book a room here again…. I guess the price was right!!!!! and the location was good to Times Square ….
- 4/5
The window in my room was stuck in an open position. It got a bit breezy and cold.
- 1/5
Staff not available for help, hotel is run down
- 3/5
No breakfast to rate and no coffee in rooms.
- 5/5
It was a wonderful time in New York- the hotel was close to everything;however, the highlight of the stay at the hotel was “Maria” front reception staff. She was full of love, concern and was over the top accommodating. Sure is great when you are away from home- when you walk into the lobby and “Maria” makes it feel like home❤️❤️
- 3/5
The window of our room was duct taped!
- 4/5
The room was decent for our stay. Could use a bit of updating but otherwise safe and comfy. I love the location and easy access. The staff are always lovely and helpful.
- 4/5
Very centrally located in Times Square. Close to everything. The rooms are very small. But for New York, it's great.
- 2/5
Ok
- 3/5
The staff were friendly, but this hotel is very tired and there is little comfort in the rooms. Mine was clean enough (although dusty) but a colleague got a terrible room. Only in New York could they charge this for such a basic room. Location is lively but easy enough to get all over Manhattan from.
- 3/5
There was no breakfast included
- 4/5
Basic room, great location
- 3/5
Room 901. Door was LOUDLY grating. Hot water issues during our stay. Bed(s) were squeeky with even with the slightest movement. Previous guests left a full drawer of clothes that housekeeping did'nt bother to clear/remove.
- 3/5
The front desk in the morning were very welcoming and helpful. The location of the hotel is great. It is near Times Square. However, the bathroom was way too small. I would prefer a coffee station in the front lobby. The elevators were too slow.
- 5/5
Clean room, however they do need a bit of a refurb. Area around the hotel is very convenient and has easy access to broadway, Times Square and the Rockefeller centre. Beds aren’t the best but the staff is helpful
- 2/5
There is an extra fee on top of the hotel expense when you arrive and I believe it would be cheaper at the Hilton than this hotel.
- 4/5
The room was quite large, more so than expected based on reviews I had seen. It had 2 queen sized beds, however both beds were extremely creaky and felt unstable. The TV in the room did not work. It would turn on, then 90% of the screen would turn black. The reading lamps also didn't appear to be working, and it was difficult to access the plug sockets. When you could access them, for example when using the hair dryer, the plug would fall out. The shower was temperamental in terms of getting a good water temperature but it was a walk in which is useful if you have access needs. There was an AC unit in the room, but the windows would not open and they had duct tape on them which was strange. The room was quite clean but certain things such as old worn towels and a stain on the bedding made me feel a bit uncomfortable. Good things though were the storage cupboard that we used for hanging up clothes and also had an iron and ironing board in etc, the location was excellent and close to Times Square, The Rockefeller Centre etc so the hotel is perfect as a base. There is also luggage storage which is very useful. Downstairs is very bright and modern which is nice. I would stay here again and I would recommend it to others if they're looking for somewhere.
- 4/5
The bathrooms need remodeling.
- 1/5
Dirty rooms . Rooms smelled like urine . Run down hotel . Patches on walls , furniture stained with black marks . Did not stay a single night . Checked out instantly
- 3/5
.
- 4/5
Overall we had a great stay. Rooms could have used some updating, and the elevators were very small for the property sometimes causing longer waits. Staff was great, and location is so convenient to everything.
- 3/5
Staff was very nice, room was clean, hotel is in shambles. The elevator situation is dire and will keep me away. And my room had an AC noise problem that didn't let me sleep
- 4/5
Good location to access the musicals
- 3/5
No really good 😌
- 5/5
It was good, Only that the shower take too much time to turn hot. But in general was good, you had everting you need so close
- 3/5
King bed was uncomfortable and very squeaky!
- 1/5
The room and entire hotel were dirty, and unkept. The place was horrible we were supposed to stay three days and left after one night the bed was old and hard, and we listened to a squeeky door slam all night long.
- 5/5
The room was small but it was only about a hundred yards from the middle of times square so who stays in the room anyway and it didn't cost that much
- 5/5
Exactly what I needed for my stay. Great location. Clean room. Good cost. I’m definitely staying here again.
- 2/5

- 1/5
when we went up to the room, fridge and microwave were not in the room and that lady said that you can only get it b request. I told them that I don't need so give me my money back, she said even if you don't use it, you still need to pay for it. the room was soooooo small, you can't open put a suitcase in there. and it was dirty. towels were very old and torned out. there was a strange smell in the hotel. the only good thing about this hotel is the location, other than that I wouldn't recommend it to any body.
- 3/5
Room shouldn't have had 2 beds. The room was too small for 2 beds. You could barely walk around 1 bed to get to the other. Really dark.
- 2/5
This hotel was not well-maintained at all. It was dirty throughout the entire property. Our room had peeling walls/ceiling and a bathroom that was only meant for one guest. The bathroom floor did not look mopped & the hotel room floor had “dents” throughout where your foot would sink. It was so small, we had to put our suitcases under the beds so we could walk around. The shower was disgusting & the water pressure was the so weak & the shower head was so small that it was difficult to even get all the way clean. There are so many hotels to stay in in NYC, don’t be fooled by this price.
- 5/5
Loved my stay
- 5/5
Staff was very helpful.
- 4/5
Our room (2 queens, very comfy) had plenty of space for us (Family of 4). Really, more room than I anticipated in a location so close to Time Square (1/2 block away from TKTS), and most budget friendly spot I found. Noise from street is very noticable, but we brought an Alexa for sleep sounds to cover most of it. AC only goes down to 68 which was okay, but it was unseasonably warm, so would've loved to be able to drop 1-2 more degrees at night after long days out exploring. There are only 2 SMALL elevators, so just be prepared to wait, use the stairs, and/or pack in like sardines, otherwise, it was a great location and stay!
- 3/5
Front Desk staff jazz and Rachel are wonderful and very accommodating. I rate these ladies with 6 Stars. Thank you Ladies !
- 1/5
Small and very dated. AC was working but only just about. Very strange smell when entering the room. Cheap and not too cheerful
- 4/5
Regular is too much for price and the room wasn’t comfortable
- 5/5
.
- 4/5
Prime location in Times Square. Updates definitely needed for rooms. No towels for 4 of us in the room. Could use a dresser instead of some small bins for use. 1 window shade was torn and broken. Vent in ceiling was dusty and right over one bed and you could see wires above. Overall, location was the best and staff were kind and helpful.
- 3/5
Staff friendly! Just not sure it was worth the $$$
- 5/5
Staff were really nice and changed me to a different room when I informed them that my room was not cleaned.
- 5/5
This was a great place for us that worked with our plans and budget. Would highly recommend.
- 3/5
The best thing about Oyo is the location!!! The room was average. Like many other hotels in the area, the rooms are tiny. Room needed a little upgrading and the bed was squeaky. However it was so easy to get around and walkable to the subway and many locations we wanted to visit. Overall I would stay here again.
- 2/5
Staff are helpful, but the hotel is tired and worn out.
- 1/5
Very bad
- 5/5
Brilliant location in the middle of it all. Close to all the broadway theaters. Great price for the location, clean rooms with ironing board and iron and hairdryer. Staff incredibly helpful and lovely. Highly reccomend.
- 1/5
very dirty
- 3/5
The thing I must say when we gathered our things to go check out is the gentleman at the desk was wonderful and refunded the deposit to me and was very nice. The pictures online are from when it was built…not what it looks like today.
- 5/5
Nice lounge
- 5/5
Clean Room/ staff friendly
- 5/5
Great
- 5/5
We had a wonderful stay!!!!
- 2/5
The room was in horrible shape. Paint was chipping. The sink was cracked. Staff were rude. No one came to clean our room or change our dirty towels. The room was missing an iron. Horrible experience.
- 3/5
Room was tired looking, AC was super noisy in excess of 90dcb. Tattered blinds and in general I was disappointed with the room. Not enough to contact reception as it was just a squeaky bed for the 5 nights. I had stayed across the road in July but too the OYO to save some cash. Wish I hadn’t. A noisy fan on the outside of the building as well. Good location.
- 3/5
We really loved Maria and Effrin ( bell man) at the desk. She was super helpful. The hotel itself could use a little bit of work. Definitely no frills blinds broken room smelled a little like dirty rags. But the location was great.
- 5/5
Nice small and compact!
- 3/5
Location was fantastic
- 1/5
Long wait at check-in, outdated, extremely noisy Airco, kind of bunk bed, flies in bathroom. Felt like a student dorm and definitely not worth the almost USD 400 (incl tax) pn.
- 5/5
It was great and simple. Quick one night stay had exactly what we needed. The room we had was spacious for 3 ppl!
- 3/5
Clean, quiet room in the heart of Times Square.
- 5/5
Smaller room, but the beds were comfy! I did bring my own Roku for the TV which really helped, mostly because I couldn’t find the tv remote. I wasn’t overly concerned about it, but it was convenient to have my Roku with me. Enjoyed dining at Serendipity as well!
- 5/5
The room was literally sterile. The elevators were quite good and the man running the luggage room on the first floor was very helpful. The hotel's advertising said it was one minute from Times Square. We walked it in 30 seconds. All in all, a good value for the price. We'll be back!
- 5/5
Loved the location.
- 4/5
The room is small, good for 1 person or a couple. Also, there is no closet to hang up any clothing, only hooks. The color of the room was very dull and makes it look very dingy. The bed was not comfortable and the pillows were not that much better. The bathroom was ok with the necessary amenities. Overall, I think the rooms need some upgrade.
- 2/5
Horrible bed small room water was lukewarm
- 2/5
Have really low expectations. Bed was terribly squeaky just sitting on it. Elevator takes forever. Paint just globbed on imperfections. Curtains ripped. Like everything was bought at a yard sale and thrown in a room. Would not go back.
- 4/5
Clean room. Though very small. But has everything you need and right in Times Square so very walkable
- 2/5
parking is very limited
- 3/5
Tv and air conditioning didn’t work first two nights. Brought it up to guest services after first night but they weren’t able to get us a new room until the next day. Only refunded 2 days of service fees which was $90. Felt like we should’ve been comped or refunded a little bit more. Hotel is in great location right in Times Square. Very basic though and doesn’t offer much other than a place to sleep and clean up but for the price it isn’t bad.
- 5/5
The hotel itself was a little dated and the bathroom could use a modernization but really everything else was awesome. The staff especially were fantastic.
- 5/5
Great stay. Stairwells need to be unlocked as elevators are small and slow.
- 2/5
Outdated rooms, the room smelled horrible, the bathroom was very small and dirty. For the price the room was very small and overpriced.
- 5/5
Good place
- 5/5
As described
- 1/5
very very bad
- 3/5
The rooms could use a good paint job and refresh. My only real complaint is that the AC would shut off at night causing the room to get stuffy. As soon as I’d get up and move around, the AC would kick on making me think it was motion detecting.
- 5/5
No fridge
- 4/5
Friendly and responsive staff.
- 5/5
Great location/great stay
- 2/5
This room felt like an upgrade in county jail if it were an option. It was nice to be in time square but this place felt so run down. No fridge, no gym, no microwave. Even open request we never received a fridge. Staff as kind but this place is a NOT refrain kinda place.
- 5/5
Location however is fantastic.
- 4/5
The location was spot on for my son and I to walk to the places we wanted to visit. I only heard people in the hallway once. Didn't hear any noise from the outside. Water pressure in the shower could have been better, but it served it's purpose. Would like to see a small refrigerator in the rooms to hold some water and snacks. But, overall, we had a good experience.
- 5/5
The property is very nice rooms are very small
- 4/5
The AC didn’t work very well and it was a little dingy but overall pretty great for a quick trip
- 5/5
Great location exceptional staff
- 1/5
the staff is awful there was this guy in the front that made my life so difficult
- 4/5
The room was spartan. A refrigerator would have been nice. But clean. Staff was good. The real saving grace to this stay was the location which was superb. We were a few feet from Times Square! The location itself made you forget the few discrepancies.
- 4/5
They need to change the sofa in the entrance lobby; they are old and dirty.
- 3/5
Great location. The elevators take forever to be available.
- 4/5
The staff were very understanding about letting me check in earlier and the room was very comfortable to stay in! It may be smaller for other people, but I got my requested queen bed so i was happy!
- 5/5
Being so close to Times Square was amazing! Just a short walk and BOOM! action. It was also nice to have the TKTS booth close too. We were able to see multiple shows and walk there with ease. Not to mention the food. Serendipidy 3 was a great place for ice cream drinks (iced hot chocolate). Long Acre Tavern and Grill was across the street and had great food too.
- 1/5
Not a fan and won't be staying here ever again.
- 1/5
The pictures of this hotel are very misleading. This property is far from being a four-star. The rooms were extremely small and dirty, and the overall condition of the hotel felt more like a rundown motel than what was advertised. Even the doors did not close properly—they barely latched, which felt unsafe. Don’t be fooled by the photos posted on Expedia; they do not reflect the reality of this hotel.
- 5/5
Staff were so sweet. The room was quite dated but was clean overall.
- 3/5
Nice looking, well situated. However, the lobby was very hot and humid. Between 3-4pm peak check-in there was only one clerk. A lineup had formed and it took a very long time to check in. Also a very loud AC unit in room.
- 2/5
The room was fine but the bathroom wasn’t very clean and looked run down. Great location and good for a short stay
- 5/5
Great staff, very friendly and accommodating, rooms need an upgrade
- 5/5
.
- 3/5
Absolutely loved the location of the hotel. It was easy to walk to most places we planned to visit and also near the train station for an easy commute. The staff were great! My only complaint is the bed, it was a mattress (no box spring) on a bed frame. It was not comfortable for sleeping.
- 1/5
Dirty rooms
- 3/5
Food options, central
- 3/5
It was overall great
- 3/5
Good convenient location and affordable- but place needs some fixing
- 2/5
Didn’t like anything. For paying almost $400 for the night, this place is a dump. The room wasn’t worth the price. The price range should be like $69 at most. Crappy!!!!
- 3/5
The service was great but the rooms are in extremely bad condition.
- 3/5
Location was perfect. Rooms were clean, but a bit outdated.
- 3/5
The bed was terrible very uncomfortable , dirty bedroom rug
- 5/5
AMAZING STAFF EXTREMELY HELPFUL!!!!!
- 5/5
Everything very nice
- 5/5
It’s clean and you will surely enjoy Time Square. It’s a perfect spot if you wanna enjoy the whole Time Square.
- 3/5
All in all, you’re getting what you’re paying for here: a subpar facility in midtown near all the action. The staff makes up for it a bit, and the price is decent. Still, I’d probably just look for something a few blocks south that would be a bit nicer.
- 3/5
Friendly check in staff, hotel is in disrepair, my room was dirty, blood on wall, cracked paint and bathroom tile was oxidized. NO staff to check out in the morning
- 4/5
The location is excellent. All the staff is very nice and professional and they addressed my concerns.
- 3/5
The room is TINY. This hotel was clearly renovated but is not at all luxurious. Fine for a quick trip and to lay your head for the night. No frills.
- 1/5
It was a horrible stay. Bugs in shower. Reported it to the front desk night of check in. Was harassed by a guy in the hallway with a uniform they claim it was from the restaurant. Hotel is old and outdated and not in clean condition. The metal bed frame was literally breaking. Stay was horrible. Was promised a return for the stay for my money back not gotten yet. Elevator is super small like 4 people maximum no luggage.
- 2/5
Listen. I need you to hear me out. I walked in. And I was flabbergasted. The lobby was very nice, the staff were great, and the environment was homey. But, the second you take the elevator to your room. You realize that you have been conned. Upon entering the elevator, something felt off. I stayed on the 3rd floor. The CRAMPED hallways with pain peeling off SHOULD have been my cue to evacuate. Once I entered my room, I was left in a state of shock. The walls damaged. The bathroom floor: repulsive. The mere thought that a human can inhabit this area is against the Geneva Conventions.
- 4/5
Excellent location. Rooms are tiny and mattress on the bed was not great. But staff was very accommodating and made the stay great
- 5/5
Very good spot in Times Square. Service is excellent, i recommend it.
- 4/5
Small but suited all needs.
- 3/5
Rooms were much smaller than photos make it seem and had a view of the AC unit. However, lobby and staff were nice and it was clean. Also convenient location for walking and traveling around NYC.
- 3/5
Bed was terrible
- 1/5
pictures definitely didn’t do justice and the ac was not working correctly and it was hot it in the room
- 1/5
Not quite sure how this hotel can claim to be a 4 star hotel but its far from having that status. Thw only thing this hotel has going for it is location. Elevators were some of the smallest ive ever been in, the room wasnt much bigger than the elevator. Our family of 4 were beyond cramped in this little room with 2 beds. The beds frames were so cheap it looked like they came from Wish.com. There was not even an ice machine on any floor or in the hotel for that matter. Ac sucked, hot water sucked, the toilet seat was so loose it was abt to come off. Dont let the lobby fool you, this place is a dump thats in a good location next to Times Square and what they charge per night and parking is a damn joke and is just ridiculous!
- 3/5
Location is great. Right in time square, lots of food options right outside the front doors. The rooms are small, and the air conditioner is very loud and makes different sounds. Most staff were great, there was one staff who yelled a lot but otherwise everyone else was fantastic. Would recommend based on location.
- 5/5
Great customer service, great area, and great staff
- 3/5
The staff was really nice and responsive but I did feel the property itself was a bit tired and grubby around the edges. My bathroom had patches of paint peeling off the walls and a few small patches of grime. When I arrived the over-the-sink shelf was hanging off at risk of falling off. Things like that -- nothing dire -- but did impact my overall feeling about the place. But the room was comfortable, if compact, and clean and neat.
- 3/5
Staff was very friendly and room was good sized overlooking Times Square. Unfortunately the curtains didn’t work so the room was totally lit all night. That being said, the staff was wonderful.
