the hotel basement flooded and I was forced to leave the hotel even though I paid for more nights and I was not refunded
- 1/5
When I reached the hotel stay itself was not available. The hotel management mentioned they renovated the property last week and we didn’t receive any prior notice either from the hotel or Expedia. and we were left stranded in the middle of the night. The hotel management then sent to an alternative place but there were no vacant rooms in that place either. This is the most unsafe and unpleasant experience I have ever faced especially in a city I’m visiting for the first time.

Next time I am in nyc.

The hotel was lovely. It was very close to shops, a laundry mat & public transportation. The staff were very nice, helpful, approachable & easy to talk too. We only used the hotel to sleep in & it served its purpose fine. The staff, condition of the hotel & the shopping made it a very nice stay.

The room was very small. There was no closet. Check in was easy. Our first room had no shower curtain, so we had to move rooms. They supplied soap shampoo and conditioner. There was a sign that said if you forgot something see the front desk, however they didn’t have toothbrushes.
- 3/5
They have a sign by the sink in the bathroom that says, if you forgot any toiletries, that they’ll will be happy to give you some as a courtesy; so sadly me and my daughter forgot our toothbrushes and toothpaste, when she went to ask at the lobby, they said they had none. Also the vending machines in the floor we stayed were out of service. Also on the picture it shows a coffee machine in the room, it didn’t have any. :(

The veiw from my window was beautiful and among peace of mind. Will go back and stay longer next time.

It wasn’t a person stay
- 3/5
The room was adequate. I’d say overpriced but it’s NYC. The signs at check in did not give much confidence in the safety of the property or the neighborhood. First, there was a sign demanding $60 cash deposit, no exceptions. Fortunately, I was not asked: I do not give cash deposits at hotels I’ve reserved with credit card—but I wondered immediately what kind of place I’d booked. Second, the signs announcing “no prostitution will be tolerated,” far from giving me confidence, made me wonder if I’d made a huge mistake. The hotel would be smart to discretely ask people to sign something at check-in acknowledging these policies rather than scaring the living daylights out of people upon arrival with big signs.
- 4/5
Quiet clean and very convenient.
- 3/5
The location
- 1/5
The best thing about this property was the price. Upon arrival, the property had signs up about prostitution and visitors. The property did not accept any cards, just cash with an ATM that has a convenience fee. I also left like there was black mold in the room I had. Property did not have an iron for guests to use. Wouldn't recommend.
- 5/5
Clean, convenient and quiet
- 1/5
The basically overbooked our room and told us when we arrived that they give out our room to someone else mind you we came from far away 4 hours ride and when we got to the hotel this is what we got. We slept in our car
- 4/5
The two young men at the front desk were extremely accommodating and kind. i woke up a bit after midnight and was parched and the night guy was kind enough to offer to accompany me to.the store and offered me a water. Very nice people......
- 5/5
We were attended our friends wedding and this hotel was perfect for us, absolutely all service was very good, thank you so much for welcoming us 💯💯💯
- 5/5
Very affordable, convenience,
- 4/5
The rooms do not have a closet
- 4/5
It was great. Clean, tidy and safe environment
- 5/5
The hotel was close to the Barclays center and that was convenient. The staff was friendly and helpful.
- 1/5
There was no heat and they didn't even try to make sure we okay try moving us to another room still no heat
- 2/5
Check it was like a interview and be prepared to have $60 cash ONLY and make at check in was rude Other Gentleman at check out was nicer
- 3/5
This place is ok right smack of a really seedy neighborhood . The young man at counter was friendly and not a problem checked in, it's a shelter on the top floors but no issues here, it was quiet enough. They say it's full breakfast but it's nothing that resembles even continental only bread slices jelly and cream cz coffee regular no decaf hot water for tea and cold tea and cold water half a carafe of fruit loops cereal and not even enough milk THAT WAS IT!!! I got a small cup of coffee and left. SHAME ON THIS HOTEL FOR ADVERTISING BREAKFAST! Don't go out late either looked so dangerous even for my husband who grew up in Jersey. No parking so hopefully you can find one in front of the hotel. All in all I would not go there again. Tina
- 5/5
We had an amazing time at our stay. Awesome costumer service. Can't wait till our next stay at this establishment.
- 1/5
He told me he'd refunded the money, even though I explained to him the night before that i didn't care about a refund, and said he was doing me a favor by doing that! He may have been the rudest person I've met in new york - which is saying a LOT. He suggested i try the hotel down the street, and being desperate (i had gotten up at 3:30 a.m. that day to make my rescheduled flight) i walked there ... and found it was a cash-only hotel, and the lobby was festooned with signs noting that prostitution would not be permitted on the premises! Draw your own conclusions from that.
- 3/5
The only complaint that I have that the breakfast did not include fresh fruit. Otherwise, the hotel is close to public transportation and stores were within walking distance.
- 4/5
It was a little strict with the rules but the bed was nice. The other people staying in another room were kinda loud but other than that it was ok for the price.
- 2/5
I believe the hotel is way overpriced. It was extremely noisy, especially during late hours. I would not stay here in the future, nor would I recommend it to anyone.
- 2/5
Our second room 607 was a little better. There were no parking spaces. Nothing was good about this hotel stay. It was expensive, dirty, smelly and not in a great location.
- 4/5
in town to visit friends. room very small (its Brooklyn...) but clean. Parking was horrible (again its Brooklyn)..I had to park up the block because there is no designated parking. the only other issue I had was, the hotel also doubled as a shelter. I heard kids playing loudly in the hallways in the evening and the next morning. Also the housekeeping staff were very loud...maybe the walls were thin??? oh lets not forget the constant smell of Marijuana in the elevator
- 4/5
Its was OK... Spend two nights with my boo an we both felt comfortable...
- 2/5
I arrived late like I always do at other hotels because of my work schedule. I never worry because the rooms are always guaranteed for late arrival. Well, not here. I arrived late and they told me my room was given away. I waited over a half hour while they "cleaned" a room for me. Finally I go into the room and notice that it was not very neat but I was tired so I tried to make the most of it. I layed in the bed for a while and finally realized I couldn't breath well. I was smelling cigarette smoke which I am allergic to. That's why I always ask for a non smoking room. I turn the light on and notice there is a pile of ashes prominently displayed on the night stand. So much for cleaning the room. I got up and decided to leave. Long story short, the hotel booked my room to someone else, I tried to make do with the room they gave me but could not because of smoke allergy. They refused to give me a refund. Very disappointing! I've been booking rooms through expedia for years. This is my first truly bad experience. Avoid this hotel. It should be rated one star not two.
- 2/5
Bathroom looked dirty. Floors did not look mopped and sink/shower did not look clean. Shower curtains were filthy. Packaged soap was old.
- 2/5
cigarette and the smell of cleaning agents makes one unable to breath. not good for someone with allergies.
- 2/5
They were short on face clothes, I killed a bedbug that bite me 4 times, although the bed looked very comfortable. Watchout because they have bedbugs!!
- 1/5
This hotel is in the worst part of Brooklyn. It is in the projects! The hotel staff is very sketcy and some weird business was going on when we checked in. We felt very unsafe here. We got up to our room and noticed there wasnt a "do not disturb" sign so we went down to get one. The front desk person thought it was very strange that we wanted one. Our "non smoking" room smelled like smoke, there were ashes in the toilet, and there was gum all over the floor. We smelled our neighbor smoking all night and could hear doors slamming througout the night. The breakfast had stale bagels and fermented waffle mix. The sausages and eggs were hard and cold. We left our hotel to venture out and took ALL of our valuables with us. We literally thought our room would get broken into. It seemed as though this hotel caters to homeless people in the area too. There were a lot of transient people hanging around inside the building. DO NOT WALK AROUND IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD AT NIGHT. We made this mistake when we came back too late from the city. Just save yourself and dont do it! We have been in rougher neighborhoods before but this was more than rough. We had to be on our toes inside and outside of this hotel. This hotel should honestly be taken down from Hotels.com because its just not safe.
- 5/5
It was great and very Quiet
- 4/5
My son travelled to attend an event, he states everything was okay and he would stay here again.
- 1/5
I paid for a queen bed room and got a tiny room with a full size bed.
- 4/5
Staff is very helpful with information needed to locate services while in NY. Good breakfast.
- 1/5
The hotel smelt like weed and had a lot of people from the shelter as its residence. I didnot feel safe there and would not recommend it to anyone.
- 5/5
the mirror felt on my toe when i walked in and closed the door
- 3/5
It is a quaint hotel, the only complaint is that the cleaning staff is too noisy. One morning at about 5:00 am the cleaning staff where hitting the door while moping. The excessive noise did not let me sleep through the morning. The breakfast has great variety and is pretty good.
- 2/5
When I arrived the staff was very nice and accommodating, however once I entered the room I noticed that there were no curtains present except for the very thin ones that are typically under the regular curtains. Not too big of a deal, except that I was on the ground floor and could see everything going on outside, so I am sure they could see me as well. Also, since I was right by the check in, I could hear everything that was being said, dropped, and mishandled throughout the entire night. I suppose both of these issues are more specific to the particular room I was given, otherwise the room and hotel met typical standards
- 3/5
It served my purpose, staff was helpful. The price was good.
- 4/5
Breakfast was great . Fresh made waffles awesome!!!
- 1/5
Horrible. NEVER WOULD STAY AGAIN. NEVER WOULD RECOMMEND.
- 1/5
the turn down service was terrible. The room was orderly at first site but upon further inspection the sheets and pillowcases were covered in make-up (no one changed the sheets)they made the bed with the same sheets the previous guests had been rolling in!!! the bathroom appreared clean but there was hair all over the shower when I pulled back the shower curtains and there was a d*ck drawn in the mirror ( visible only after the steam from the shower fogged up the glass). Also the glasswear had dust protectors placed on them but there was visible lipstick stains on them from the previous guests. Horrible!!!!!!!
- 1/5
We did not even stay at the hotel. It was in an unsafe neighborhood and the gentleman at the front desk was extremely rude. I cannot believe that this hotel was on your site. I trust hotels.com to show me the best options and this was clearly a misstep. I highly suggest removing this hotel from your website.
- 4/5
Scrupulously clean and comfortable with an excellent buffet breakfast and very friendly and helpful staff. The quality of provision is of a standard higher than anticipated. The only problem (about which the hotel can do nothing) is the location. It is not a question of safety (I felt wholly safe and, anyway, the hotel is just around the corner from the bus stop) but of access: to get to downtown Manhattan requires a B60 bus (every fifteen minutes or so if you are lucky - I once had to wait for 25 minutes) to Rockaway Avenue (Blue Line C) which means getting the local C train to Utica before being able to transfer to the A Express train. This can take about one hour to get to Grand Central.
- 5/5
The cleanliness and friendliness of this hotel was a true surprise!
- 3/5
For the price it was good. The area is bad, off of pitkin ave. lobby needs security. A lot of sketchy people hanging in the lobby. Hotel room and hallways was great.
- 1/5
I checked in late on a Wednesday night (after calling to say I would be late) and my room was booked through check out on Saturday. I had to leave early on Thursday morning to make funeral arrangements for my mother that passed and the hotel checked me out on their own, threw away all my sons special food I had purchased (due to his allergies) and took my bags and any belonging I had in the room and put them in the breakfast/food area scattered all about where any guest could have went through my things. The hotel did nothing for me but give me a room back.
- 5/5
6 of us needed a place to stay for Halloween. This hotel was perfect. It had 2 beds that fit 3 ppl, very clean and warm. easy check in and check out. they even called at 10 to wake us up so that we wouldn't get a late fee. Definitely a contender if you're looking for a place. The area around it however was sketchy, we had to walk from the subway to the hotel and we were fine. at night do not go outside, we took a lyft/uber to go out. check it out!
- 2/5
This was our second time staying at this hotel. We had traveled all day and did not reach the hotel until 2 am. Luckily, I had called for a late check in. There were not enough towels and bath cloths for us ( people) and we had to call a couple of times to get our supplies. The linen on the bed is all white. There was a dark stain on one of the comforters. Could have been anything but we did not take the chance and pulled the linen off the bed. We checked out first thing the next morning and found another place the stay for the second night.
- 3/5
When we got back much later that day, we was given a room that I am pretty sure someone else was using because there was a bottle of some kind of hard alcohol on the stand and the room was untidy. We went back down stairs and explained that the room was dirty so we were given another room. This room was small but enough room for two people. The bed was comfy and there was a fridge and flat screen T.V. you can tell this was renovated and it was nice. I would stay there again. My friend went and grabbed some bagels from the breakfast area. I wish they had cream cheese but no they did have jelly. But I don’t eat breads so that also did not help. The door did have a safety lock that was so weak I hoped that no one would break in because that lock was a joke. Housekeeping was good one day the next day they bothered us several times. We needed one of the do not disturb signs but we did not have one. We asked the guy down stairs but he said it was on the back of our door but it was not. That is ok because it was out last night. They do like to charge fees for everything her

This hotel is a fabulous deal! We knew the neighborhood and exactly what to expect. If you are looking for a ritzy hotel in Brooklyn or Manhattan, then this isn't it (nor is the price you will pay). This is a local neighborhood where people work and live. But I enjoyed that. We parked on the street for 3 days and we didn't have any issues. We felt very safe walking to/from the train station and in the area in general. We went to a couple shops on Pitkin Ave and were treated well. We will be back! It is close to a local shopping district (Pitkin), public transportation, and restaurants. Although this is probably one of the smallest rooms I have stayed in it was new and comfortable and had everything we needed. The bed/bedding was very comfortable, nice TV, small fridge, storage, AC/Heat worked as expected and up to date furniture and fixtures added a nice touch. There was no sign of bugs (my main concern in a room). Just a few small tips: They asked for a refundable $40 cash deposit. When checking out, they didn't initiate giving it back. We had to ask and he checked our paperwork. After a room inspection we did receive it. Also, the rate on the receipt wasn't the rate I paid through expedia. He assured me I wasn't charged anything extra so I will have to check my card statement to verify.
- 5/5
My husband and I loved our stay it was very comfortable. I am visiting again.
- 2/5
All of the hotel towels were not very clean and the bathroom had women hair all over.
- 3/5
There were stains on the sheets and duvet, but they were clean. The rooms were smaller, but had everything that you would need. The elevator smelled strongly of pot, but the rooms were just fine. The breakfast was decent, but the room gets very very crowded. If you want in without having to rub up against a bunch of fellow travelers, get your breakfast early. There aren't a lot of good restaurants nearby. Plant to eat before you get back to the hotel. When you leave to go to Manhattan or another part of NYC, be prepared not to come back to the hotel until later that evening. Going back and forth to your hotel to freshen up, add a jacket, or get dressy for the theater is not an option. Prepare for your entire day and bring a backpack. Refer to Apple Maps to help with transit directions. It will save you a lot of time figuring out the subway and bus system. It takes about an hour to get to Manhattan via public transit, which is your cheapest option. If you are wanting to pinch pennies for your trip, this is a good spot. Getting a cab into Manhattan everyday will wreck every bit of savings you had from staying at this location. As to the safety of the location, it was fine. By "rough neighborhood," a lot of reviewers refer to a neighborhood with a lot of brown, poor people. If you have a problem with that, stay somewhere else. We would definitely stay here again. We'd rather spend money on shopping, good food, and Broadway rather than an overpriced Times Square hotel.
- 1/5
Terrible neighborhood, not safe at all.
- 5/5
The hotel was great for the price. The staff was friendly and very accommodating. The rooms were nice as well. The only down side is the location. It's not THAT bad but just know it's not the best. Over all I had a great stay.
- 2/5
the hotel was fine but : very far away from the public transportation and the tourist area the neighborhood horrible and dangerous , nothing to do around to expensive for nothing. I don't recommended that all
- 3/5
The Hotel is good but the management were not helpful. They refused to let us in for early check-in even though there were many available rooms. There is no lobby!! The Breakfast area is very small.
- 5/5
It was a calm relaxing get away that my girlfriend and friends was looking for
- 3/5
This hotel ended up being a very far walk to the 3 train to Manhattan, which was even farther because the most convenient stop is closed. When I finally made it, my non smoking room smelled like weed and cigarette smoke, with cigarette butts still on the floor. One worker at the front desk came with air freshener, but it wasn't much help. The neighborhood has a lot of families, but it's still pretty dodgy. The room itself had a very comfortable bed and fluffy pillows, and was pretty quiet all night.
- 4/5
The hotel is in a rough neighborhood but we did not have any problems while walking through it, even at night. The subway station is about 20 minutes from the hotel and it takes about 45 minutes to get to the hotel from Manhattan. The hotel is nice and clean and the staff was always friendly to us. The only negatives of the hotel was how far it was from Manhattan and the neighborhood, other than that it is a great hotel.
- 1/5
The hotel was in a crime area. We decided not to stay and we did not receive a refund.
- 2/5
There are times when looking for a hotel, we are willing to give up many things but cleanliness is not negotiable when the property is managed by a brand name chain. Upon checking in, it was noticeable that the room was not very clean. In particular the bathroom was visibly dirty with stains on the toilet, the shower, sink, light switch and floor. We told the staff and they sent a person to come clean the bathroom. When I observed that the person used a face cloth to clean the sink and then the same cloth for the toilet and about to use the same cloth to clean the shower. I asked him to stop. I was appalled. I highly recommend that this hotel's management assess their cleaning process and sanitary protocol. I need not say more.
- 4/5
Nice hotel that was very clean and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The big problem is the neighborhood and the location where the hotel is located is a very bad and dangerous neighborhood where a couple of police officers told me not to go out of the hotel after 7:00 PM due to it was in the most dangerous location of Brooklyn.
- 4/5
Great price and comfortable, clean hotel. Neighborhood a bit scary at night.
- 4/5
I needed a hotel for a two night layover and I picked this one from many in New York CIty. The hotel itself is very new, I think I was the very first person to use my room. The doors had been open only the day before. The area is in a state of urban renewal, there are a couple of new businesses and other new hotels going in. Bus service is available with in a short walk, which will take you to the subway. There are several local cafe's and a McDonalds close by. I would not recommend this hotel for anyone who likes to roam around at night, lots of sirens and there is a police presence which is good for safety, but not so good for wondering why. I got along well with the people at the hotel and on the street as well. The locale food was good, a fish shack right around the corner puts out a nice meal in a box, way better than going to Mac's. The hotel breakfast was their 1st day I think. Lots of confusion and very little in the way of taste or selection. It is on par with a much cheaper hotel chain.
- 4/5
Excellent hotel with 99.9% staff also excellent. Perhaps not the best part of Brooklyn, but the rooms & facilities made up for that
- 2/5
The area is a little rough but the Hotel is clean and newer. I would not stay again because of the lack of sleep I got the second night.
- 1/5
I got the holt at 10pm and my room was not ready until 11pm . Finally got in my room and found the sheets and pillows was dirty.
- 3/5
The neighborhood was dirty, no restaurants except fast food, almost an hour to get into Manhattan. However, the hotel itself was very clean and the staff helpful. Breakfast was good and ample. The price was very good. I would not stay there again or recommend it to others because of the location.
- 4/5
We just needed a place to relax and this place was nearby and the experience was very nice, the room was clean, the staff was nice, and the quality of the hotel was good for the price.
- 4/5
It was ok rooms r nice and clean free breakfast is gd.
- 5/5
everything on my expectation was great, i was so glad and so satified of my trip...i love it and love everything
- 4/5
overpriced because of the holiday. Room was ok other than the one bed having a stained comforter. Lady next door said her linens were dirty too. Far from train in great shopping area though.
- 2/5
When the subway, metro train person called the hotel 4 times no one answered. I called for directions 7 times that afternoon no one picked up the phone for either of us Iended up two hours trying to get back to the hotel because no one would answer the phone and then my room had not been cleaned.
- 3/5
nice staff, clean location, good location if your from the city originally. close to the local neighborhoods, hopefully it doesn't get ruined to quick.
- 2/5
The room are too small, the service was bad, and theirs no parking
- 3/5
Great value
- 5/5
I loved everything about it... But being your own coffee theirs is watery.
- 5/5
great stay, great hotel.
- 4/5
The 1 night I stayed was fine. Nothing wrong with this hotel.
- 4/5
We stayed there just for a night as a layover in NYC. We checked in late at night, around 10:30pm due to flight delays but the hotel staff was courteous and efficient in checking us in. We were extremely hungry so we ventured out into the neighbourhood to see what was open around the time. The area is a bit rundown and unlike other Brooklyen areas, there aren't too many open places around at that time of night, but we didn't feel unsafe walking around the street. For our brief stay, this hotel was perfect. The bed and pillows were extremely comfortable, the staff was very nice and we had a great night's rest. Wifi is reliable. The breakfast is included and it's basic but not too bad. The area where it is served is very small so it can get crowded in there, especially around 8am and later (breakfast stops being served at 9am) but we found it manageable. Overall, it was a pleasant experience.
- 1/5
Worst hotel I've ever been to. They rooms are SUPER small and what I was sold I didnt get. I ask for a room for 4 and got a room for 2. Pipe was leaking the whole 2 days, I had to dry up the floor feom water that leaked onto it. Try to get out the 1st day I got there but I was told a couldn't. Told the hotel rep about the leak and was told they'll fix it after I leave. My intial Rm603 was not made and dirty and smelled of smoke. They changed me to 503 and that's is the one that had the pipe leaking. WORST HOTEL I'VE EVER BEEN TO. I can't see hiw you going to sell someone a room for 2 as a room for 4 adults.
