This visit was a 70th birthday gift so I could dine with friends a few times in Fashion Island. So although I’m grateful for the experience, I think the hotel is over priced for what one gets.

Beautiful hotel however we weren’t aware the pool and outside bar was going to be closed for an event. That was one of the reasons we booked this specific hotel. We wanted to do dinner as well but it was beyond packed. Overall beautiful hotel.

The staff there is amazing! The housekeeper went above and beyond to decorate my room for Valentine’s Day. Everyone greets you as you walk about. Just amazing 10/10

The staff was all very friendly. The restaurant and pool were beautiful. I was thinking the pool bar might be open late into the night but wasn’t and closes around sunset. The rooms were nice but the bathrooms were like half remodeled. Hallways were a little creepy. But overall it was a great stay. Rented an e bike for an hour rather than going to the gym which was fun. Also had breakfast there and it was good.

The room had an absolutely gorgeous view. Everyone who worked on the property was so nice. I will definitely be going back.

The bed was extremely comfortable and facility was clean. I loved the gym. Limit day trippers, when we arrived on Sunday, the pool was packed (parent weaving through chairs chasing her kids while carrying another) staff said they had never seen it like that with kids and people NOT staying, towels in room were itchy and felt like a cheap hotel, the Nespresso machine- waste - just wanted a cup of coffee, no ventilation in the bathroom at all the tissue box was soaked after one shower even with the door open. You NEED 2 pools, like years ago (one for adults only). I preferred the Thann toiletries over Molton Brown - smelled better and made the place smell nice. Do not like the upgrades-felt like Vegas. We stayed 11 years ago and Loved it. Stayed again 7 years and room needed upgrading, but this time disappointed with the stay and place. I would have stayed someplace else had I known what it was like. I even considered leaving after the first night but did not think I could get a refund. Car battery dead upon departure as lights were left on. Overall, not a great experience.

Don’t bother when we did go down to breakfast we had to wait 15 minutes before being seated even though there were lots of empty tables. Other guests who weren’t staying at hotel sat down before us. The weather was bad whilst we were there and the hotel doors downstairs were all open so it was also very cold to sit in the bar and restaurant. I was there for 13 days and 2 or those my room wasn’t cleaned. Also we hired a car and to put it into the car park cost us $64 then another $57 taxes per day plus car park attendants expecting tips for retrieving the car. Also there is a golf course at the back of the hotel so that’s why I booked it. Everyday the course was empty photos for hotel gave the impression this was included but to play on the course cost another $449 per round per person. So please be careful people before you book

The room was clean, front desk helpful and the speakeasy bar was over the top! So fun and intimate. The valet was great and showed up the minute we called. We would stay there again in a minute!

The entire staff was incredible, especially the bell captain and housekeeping. The only issue that did not sit well with me was that valet parking was the ONLY option. I knew that they offered valet parking, however, it was really vague regarding self-park. I had to do a lot of digging, to include calling the hotel to find that self-parking was not an option.

We had an amazing stay at VEA. Excellent service, the staff was amazing. Our room was very clean and the property was gorgeous! Would definitely go back! Strongly suggest taking in the sunset on the sunset lawn next to the fire pit!

This is my favorite hotel in Newport. The staff go above and beyond to make sure you have a great stay. They really make this hotel. The rooms are clean and bed comfy. The pool is great with a beautiful views.

Very clean and great staff

Property owners did an excellent job renovating a dated property. The rims were nice bed very comfortable.

Overall experience was ok. We stayed on the convention center side which was a bit of a walk to the restaurant and facilities. In addition, pool was reserved for a private party so it was unavailable for use.

There were several conferences and the PGA Hoag event going on it was so busy. Wasn’t able to relax by the pool, people everywhere.

I had an amazing stay! The staff is so awesome and they were so nice!

Kudos to the following VEA employees who made our stay a wonderful experience: Edward @ check-in, Rachel @ check-out, Tiffany Beau Danny Jake Rashaan Grant @ parking valet A few suggestions include providing in room slippers & personal toiletries, and consider lowering the very pricey $60 daily charge for valet parking (no self park option on-site)! Will certainly consider VEA again on our next family visit in Newport area.

The elevators were very far away. We overlooked the roof of the hotel. The light that goes on automatically in the bathroom is not enjoyable in the middle of the night. The water pressure in the shower is extremely light.

Went for a girls weekend over Labor Day and had the most relaxing, wellness and lovely weekend. Staff and service was great~ truly went out of their way to keep us smiling- Betsy at the front desk (super nice), Anthony at the Pool Lounge area (super accomodating and friendly), Christina provided friendly lounge bar service, and so much more. It really made our quality self care weekend the most enjoyable (we both have kiddos, and this was surely relax free time for us!). Thanks VEA.

The hotel is very nice and clean. The staff are not attentive poolside and at the restaurant. We asked 3 different waiters for menus to order poolside. The only two staff that were exceptional were service were Rachel from housekeeping and Shiela.

Great property with a sunset view. Only downside is no public parking, valet only. And the rooms felt a little disconnected in style and taste from the resort part.

Molly at check in, was very friendly and very helpful. Our concern is with valet parking; they ignored us; we left our car in front of the hotel but still no one asked if we needed help. Finally, after several minutes, we had to snag someone and ask for service.

Everything about it is great. Bar and pool close pretty early though and valet and resort fee is very pricey. You’d think it’s already part of the nightly rate but that’s how most hotels get you now.

Wonderful hotel in a great location. Wish they had additional pools as it got crowded on the weekend, but otherwise a perfect stay. Loved the bike, umbrella, beach chair, boogie board, and towel rentals included in the resort fee. No need to pack these large items if you’re coming to VEA.

Its such a beautiful hotel and walking distance from Fashion Island and different restaurants. I would definitely come here again anytime I come to Newport Beach.

Victor greeted us and welcomed us to the property with lots of enthusiasm and kindness. He even upgraded our room. We were always welcomed back as we returned to the property. My wife thoroughly enjoyed her day at the spa. We would highly recommend the VEA Resort and Spa to others.

Trip started off rough because at first we didn't get the room that I paid ahead for and the first replacement wasn't sufficient. However, the staff found and excellent accommodation room with exactly what I had originally expected. Service throughout our stay was FABULOUS! Everyone was on top of their game and my wife and I had a wonderful experience.

Outstanding Property

I was honestly disappointed by this hotel as I expected more for the price. Bed was not as comfortable as it should have been. Sheets were not soft. Amenities of the hotel seemed better than the rooms themselves. Overall, probably would not book here again for this price. You’re paying for location I guess but they could really make the rooms a little nicer for $400-$500 a night on a weekday.

We had an amazing time at our stay, the hotel location is amazing, the food in the hotel is super yummy, the stuff were super friendly and helpful. We highly recommend this hotel and we will definitely go back.

We enjoyed cocktails and dinner in the dining room/bar area. California Roll is superb.

For the money spent, we unfortunately regret booking. Everything felt like a wannabe luxury. We did not get the room we reserved online, the room was not very clean, noisy all night- some sound that sounded like a dryer with change inside, the food was insanely overpriced and not great, and the cappuccino was just hot milk. Beds were not comfortable and the bathrooms had zero privacy. Very awkward when you’re staying with a friend. 60$ for overnight valet parking and it’s not even covered/protected from the elements. Love the day spa, but will not stay again.
