Sunset Inn

We travel with two small dogs, so we were looking for a clean place with easy in-and-out access. considering the value and facilities, it’s definitely very good. The Portage Bakery behind it is a local gem.

Nothing really bad !! Just you need to ask for anything that finish in the room there is no cleaning service ..

Close to everything and Clifton hill only 14 mins walk. No hot water in our room so couldn’t take a hot shower.but the staff got us to go into another room to use the shower there

Yes, is a good place for stay

It was nearby to the main touristic places The bed were uncomfortable. The other guests were outside their rooms, smoking cigarretes and weed the most of the afternoon. Also, they were drinking a lot of alcohol.

The place smelled of cigarette smoke. The mini fridge wasn't working but they ended up switching out for one that did work. There was no ice machine, no hand towels to use and the tiny bar soaps they provide was not enough to wash your hands with. There was no coffee maker. Only one outlet for a fridge, tv and microwave to share. The curtains weren't black out so a lot of bright street lights from outside shined in while your trying to sleep. The place was decent to stop and rest but I wouldn't stay again.

The owner was very friendly and kind. The room was clean and had everything we needed.

Location is the only good thing about this place. I could make a list of things i disliked. The very loud dog that barked all night long in the room below us. the stench of stale cigarettes. having to stand outside in the freezing cold while I try to call the number taped to the door because they refuse to staff the office. I could go on and on. The footprint on the bathroom door that wasn’t cleaned off.

add more stuff that is needed like blower, at least paper cups for coffee or tea or disposable utensils to use since no breakfast or restaurants where to eat. most guest bring food.

The location was good, and free parking was a great benefit. Overall, it was worth the money.

The room was clean and cozy. The staff was very friendly. The only negative at this motel is no coffee maker but thats not a deal breaker will deffinately stay there again.

I met the owner and he was very friendly to having our two dachshunds with us. We kept things tidy ourselves though as housekeeping didn't visit us until we left. But we did get towels and trash bags from the owner as needed.

Great value, convenient location, very clean. The linens were unexpected very white and new looking considering it’s a 2 star motel. Was quiet and well kept. Microwave in the room was a nice surprise. Shower pressure was great. Beds comfortable. Staff friendly. About 15 min to the falls.

Property was decent, everything we needed was provided. Is in a great location within walking distance to the falls and all the fun.

The property location is very accessible from all the services needed.Staff service is excellent ,we check in late(1:30 am) but they make sure they leave our room unlock for us to get in.The only thing that I want to suggest is to give a good cleaning in the room especially the bathroom.

Didn’t like that you had to pay cash for a deposit fee. My credit card was already on file. There was no need to take cash as well.

Owner was very helpful, he give me keys even at 1pm(2hrs earlier), plenty of Parking spots, parking is not mention in app but it was for free and you can even park infront of your room, shopping, food, 24hr convenient store 3 mins walk, falls only 20 mins walk, rooms were cleans, fridge, microwave, hair dryer, everything was in the room, outdoor pool open 10am to 10pm, quiet area. And it was cheap, you can’t beat the price with this one

Unbeatable price for the location . The property is old and it shows . The inn is adequate for a short weekend trip when you will be spending most of the time at the local attractions. Clean , and no frills. Sometimes “just okay” is perfect for the occasion.

20 min walk to the falls.

Very friendly and helpful staff, rooms were clean, checking in and out was a breeze. We stayed because they are pet-friendly, but we'll be back for the hospitality!

The property is dated but it was clean and very comfortable. I dealt with a Shaeky and he was extremely polite and pleasant. Would have no issues with staying there again.

There was no room available when we reach for check in.

I was very impressed with my stay here at the sunset inn. Check in was great and easy! I was with a group of 8 people and they nicely accommodated us with rooms next to eachother. The rooms were perfect, just what we needed. Spacious, had tv, fridge, bathroom with tub and shower and microwave. The people that greeted us at the front were soo nice and very humorous! The sunset inn is also perfect walking distance from everything so it was great to be able to not have to worry about parking. I would highly recommend this place and we surely will be coming back!

What really made it awesome was that the owner was extremely friendly and curteous, offering to let us keep our car at the site after checkout so that we could walk around a bit longer (which we were not going to do because of parking, so this actually allowed us to stay s little longer in the area). The only issue is that a few things could be updated.

Few minutes walk to most places. A variety of places to eat. We enjoyed our stay.

The falls is a very close walk with lots of places to eat in or take out. The inn is very clean with an outdoor pool that was safe and comfortable to be with your family. The view at nights were spectacular, and you can stand on your balcony and see the fireworks at 10pm from the falls. I recommend Sunset Inn to anyone looking for reasonable accomodation for a truly fun experience.

La chambre manquait de propreté, une personne a réussi à entrer dans notre chambre en pleine nuit avec sa clé. Heureusement que c'était juste une erreur. La clim faisait un bruit d'enfer, le frigo coulait, la toilette était bouchée. Endroit à éviter!!

The beds had small hairs and random lint all over the bed, banging all throughout the night sounding like someone was trying to brake in to the room.

Rooms were not cleaned, beer can was laying on the floor. Electric sockets in room no 33 were too old and loose. Towels were damp and smelled bad. Razor found in couch cushions. Overall very bad experience. Ruined our day.

The staff was so incredibly nice. The room was super cute and clean. A good short walk away from our favorite restaurant in the area. And a walkable distance from the main strip. We would definitely consider staying here again!

A great affordable place to stay. Very friendly staff and very helpful. Beds were very comfortable and good central location so that you could walk to most attentions in the area and lots of food options close by. We would gladly use them again.

Basic hotel room with excellent service! We could not have been made more welcome by staff. The rooms were very clean, the beds were comfortable, and we had a mini fridge and microwave in the room. Free parking and walking distance from the falls - an amazing deal all the way around!

Absolutely love this place!

Parking is very limited and inconvenient to rooms. Stairs to go up are pretty scary wood. The pool is like in the parking lot,above ground. Pictures of this place are just not true to the reality of what this place looks like. The staff in office was super nice and accommodating! Feel bad that they have to take care of this wreck. Hope the owner pays them good !

reasonable priced , easy walking distance to the falls

Wi-Fi only worked outside and not in the room. It was dusty but the toilet was clean and the beds were okay. The tv only had a few channels and had electronic streaks on the screen.

Manager/owners were very nice and helpful. We got the last room on a busy weekend because our other hotel (Ramada River Road) cancelled all reservations due to renovations, and we didn't find out until we were crossing the border patrol station on the I-190 into Niagara Falls, Ontario. Thankfully this last room in our budget had not been taken off the Expedia website. Our family of 4 had 2 queen beds and plenty of towels to use for 2 nights. The towels are a bit scratchy, but we were happy to have a room. This location is very walkable to restaurants and Clifton Hill. The owner even checked on us as we were leaving, to see if we all had our phones and chargers, then wished us safe travels and God be with us

Rooms are so-so when it comes to cleanliness (you may encounter a cockroach or two). Especially if you're on the ground level, the rooms are quite noisy and without much privacy. Most other guests seemed to be smokers, and I suspect smoking was done in our room as well by other guests. The advantages of this inn are, however, the proximity to Clifton Hill, restaurants and other attractions, as well as the reasonable prices (at least compared to other places in the Niagara region).

Room was TERRIBLE. Tiny corner room with three dressers, a desk with no chair, a TV with disconnected cable and no remote, no AC, no fridge despite advertising as having refrigerators in the rooms. One of the electrical outlets didn't even have a cover on it. We were told "no refunds" and just had to leave. Room was dirty and smelly, obviously only made non-smoking recently. The bed was on risers that were at an angle, I was afraid to sit on the bed in case it came crashing down. Had to unstick the door lock repeatedly, and the privacy chain had been removed. DO NOT BOOK.

But it was not a clean place. But was ok .

The room was ok. Found the heater ran all the time. But the big jet tub was great to have. The plug didn't hold water to long. It was in a great location to walk to see the falls and clifton hill.

My family and I are very satisfied. We are not looking or expecting it to be a 5 star place to stay. What matters was that we found a place to stay with our 2 small doggies 🐕. We will definitely go back.

Only good thing was the location. It's a motel so you can't expect much. Definitely not worth the price. We wouldn't stay again. Terrible smell of smoke in the room. A really bad fight broke out outside our room, the police had to be called. That isn't the property's fault which i recognize. The washroom was depressing. Everything was just very run down, we weren't comfortable staying but we didn't have anywhere else to go. The 2 owners didn't wear masks. The male owner had a terrible cough that he didn't try to hide, also maskless. He made my daughter uncomfortable with the attention he was giving her and he even tried to touch her head, which made it worse. I wouldn't recommend here unless you were literally only looking for somewhere to sleep. I wouldn't bring children here.
