Quality Suites Lake Wright - Norfolk Airport

I absolutely love this place! Ive been bragging about it encouraging my family and friends to take a chance on being 15 minutes from the beach. It is well worth it. There are several restaurants in the parking lot and the have a restaurant inside the hotel. Its amazing.

I never completed my stay because the property SOLD my room! I was skeptical as to whether I would stay here, but took the chance and booked a “Pay at the Property” room. I contacted them at 5pm telling them that I’d arrive around 30min. I was told that they tried to charge my card, but it was denied, and they tried to contact me, but no answer. I booked through Expedia, so I know this was not true because they DO NOT have that information to do so! It was also confirmed by a hotel representative when I called back AGAIN to inquire if my room had truly been canceled. There were no other rooms available in the area due to a basketball, which I was there to coach. I also made it a point to tell my organization to NEVER use this hotel for ANY future stays! I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL!

By the time you check in and get dinner and stuff the pool closes before you get time to go to it. Same with the next morning if you are only there a night and you have kids don't plan on swimming you have to check out before it opens. I had a pull our couch and no linens in the room For it. Front desk said you will have to come to tge front desk to get stuff, I went and they didn't even have a pillow for on th. e bed. Tgey also had 2 wash cloths and 4 towels for 5 people in my room (it skeeps 6). You would think you would have everything to utilize all beds and enough towels and wash cloths for 6 that it sleeps.

Very dirty room, old food and wrappers all over the floor. Betting incomplete. Staff surprised by the issue and minimally interested in helping.

For the price, the food was great. The chef was cool. I mean, bro I spent like 500 bucks for a week and it was six of us as spacious. I have privacy very good so what are the pools cold It was good enough for me. I was grateful to stay there. It was hard to find a good hotel with reasonable prices. God bless Jesus is God remember that

Nothing The rooms were not clean. The house keeping only gave us one set of clean towels. And our stay was over 4 days long. The restaurant was never open. The staff was unwilling to help in a timely manner. And the staff was price gauging.

Breakfast was decent, cleanliness was good but the property looked a bit run down. Property was a bit rundown, no vending machines, I was most upset that the booking website showed there was a hot tub but upon arrival there was no hot tub. I spent a long time on the phone before I booked it too, trying to find out if there was a hot tub or not, the receptionist over the phone didn’t know if there was. It felt like money wasted.

The cleanliness of the furniture in the rooms were not up to par and the tubs could have been re-done. The pool area reeks of cigarettes. I can say, the breakfast was fresh every day and the common areas were clean. The staff was helpful and nice but for the price that I paid nightly they could do a better job with keeping the furniture and fixtures clean and up to date.

There was dog poop under the bed and when asked to clean it no one showed up. There were loud neighbors fighting and then targeting our door because we seen them fighting. The front desk was called and it took hours for something to be done about it. The pull out bed was made of nothing but springs and we had to buy extra padding to be slept on. The door had been previously kicked in and was not fixed well and barely secure. There were neighbors with dogs constantly barking through the night and morning as well as neighbors playing loud music early in the morning waking up my children. The laundry room was disgustingly dirty.

The pool was so cold none of us including older children couldn’t tolerate it. Our room did not have but one towel. When we asked for more towels (there were four of us) he gave it one more towel. I had to come back and specifically ask for 2 more towels. Our room was not clean so we left and went to another motel. The front office did not even say he was sorry.

The room was clean and spacious and the staff was courteous. However, when I was deciding where to stay and called the hotel, I was told that there was a free 24 hour airport shuttle and free parking. When we arrived and tried to schedule an airport shuttle for 5 am the next morning, I was told that the shuttle did not run until 9 am. So we had to drive ourselves to ORF and pay $72 for long term parking. I will be sure to take this into consideration next time and let others know. I am not a fan of false advertising.

No seating at the entrances for waiting on rides, ie. Uber and/or Lyft. A bench on each side of the doors entrances would be customer considerate. Standing or walking back and forward waiting wasn't convenient.

When I arrived in my room my toilet wouldn't stop running, Had to call maintenance as soon as we walked in. After we flushed the toilet. It was clogged, Maintenance was called again. Now we go to the pool, Two hotel for one pool. Unacceptable. Breakfast was a joke. Again two hotel for one breakfast area. Waited in line for waffles for 40 min. To add to it i left my Favorite engraved cup with my name on it. Called and 20 mins later, but was going over the cheasepeake bay bridge and She said she will put a note on the room not to throw it away. Called 2 hours later they still havent cleaned the room. I said. She asked to call tomorrow and when i called she said it wasnt in the room. Know I left it and shouldve turned around to get it. Smh Never again

We booked a room at this hotel at 8pm for my son who was trying to get back to college ahead of hurricane, he arrived at 945pm and was told he could not check-in because he was under 21. I called the hotel front desk who was rude to me and my son saying it was policy, so i asked for a refund for the room, they said i had to talk to Expedia they could refund, Expedia says hotel has to approve cancellation. So back and forth with both the hotel hung up on us twice and then stopped answering the phone for us and Expedia. I still have not heard back from either about a refund. It was not clearly stated that you had to be 21 to check in you had to read fine print, but we booked the room an hour and 45 min before check in and they would not refund, Luckly i had friends in the area that my son could stay with.

They are suite and they only give you 1 extra cover per room and dont keep Towles at the pool you have to go to the desk .....so they are greedy with covers,towels, sheets

The hotel had big rooms that was a real nice. The location was very convenient. Near shopping mall outlet. Lots of restaurants, that share the same parking lot. The facility had a nice snack bar that sold beer and chips. You are not able to walk around the hotel with an open alcoholic container. The pool was very dirty!!! So much so we went to the beach to swim and felt like that was more sanitary. The carpet in the room was also sticky that was a bummer. All in all a good stay, nice staff.

I had a 10 hour drive from NYC TO VA I get there at about 11pm I called to let them know I would be checking in late okk that wasn't an issue...I checkin in I go to swipe my boa card payment hoes though then they tell me it didn't when it did I looked at the text I received staying a payment was charged to my card then I opened my banking app money gone for the transaction then I even called the bank the transaction was accounted for..the checkin people still saying they didnt get it being it was so late and I had my kids I had to pay for a single night which was $120 on top of the $520 that was already charged to my card following day Im busy with my son and his college entry I had to stop what I was doing with him & school get on phone with the hotel and my bank finally the bank was able to let them understand that money was taking out for my stay so tje hotel was about to get the money cleared and the extra night I payed for I said dont refund it Just add another night the hotel lady ober the phone said okk the extra night was never returned or added to another night so I had to pay for an extra day again $250.00 with a $50 deposit When I tell you I had so much trouble with my stay. Had me in tears and I was already emotional cause I was already there to drop my son to college 😪 I just paid it cause got to stay with my son another day but the room was nice got housekeeping when I needed the guest I meant in the loddy during breakfast was nice. Between a small area runny eggs dried out sausage and wafffle irons that don't work properly and coffee at anytime NO... they hide cups and condiments at Night.. Then BUGS yes BUGS crawling on walls by waffle maker yes COCKROACHS.... and in rooms got bit by spiders on my arm and legs have pics if you would like to see... Said something to front desk personal totally ignored on top of my wifes pearl necklac eended up missing and asked for no service...

The stay was not bad but our pull out was broke at the end, the second floor hallway smelled horrible and the paint at the bottom of the pool came off when my kids touched the bottom. The staff was super friendly though.

This is a budget hotel not at all a 5 star hotel but it was not bad the room was super clean and the beds were comfy the bathroom was perfect for what it was needed for the pool was run down but it was a pool and the breakfast hit the spot in the morning what could you ask for my car was safe had dinner at the restaurant in the same lot didn't need to drive at all and it was cheap like better than cheap if you hear people complaining about it go somewhere else it was about 120 a night slept 6 comfortable and was clean a had AC and a pool plus free breakfast and lots of coffee no need to complain

I am very happy with the price & amenities at this hotel. I was looking for a hotel with breakfast & a pool. Which is hard to find at a good rate. The Quality inn was within my budget. I was able to feed my whole family a good breakfast without spending a fortune. The pool was nice. The staff was very nice. The only thing that I could complain about was that they only gave us 1 roll of toilet paper for 5 people, to last 2 days. I had to ask for more & they only gave me 1 more roll. I ended up buying toilet paper. This is why I gave them 4 stars. The hotel wasn’t fancy but nice & comfortable for the price. I would recommend this hotel & hotels.com to friends. I was able to get cash back on this stay, which is always nice.

When I walked into check in even though I had already paid for my room I still had to pay another $50 which was unexpected. I went to the pool to swim because that was the main reason for me coming and there was mold and dirt everywhere. What especially was alarming was the mold that was floating and the pool right next to me I wouldn't recommend that anybody go here and they should at least close it for a while to give it a thorough and deep cleaning.

Good location but booked for 6 people and did not have any linens for pullout sofa bed. when called front office, was told I had to come down to front desk and pick up, they would not deliver them to room. Blanket has holes in it. Also did not have enough towels for everyone!

I was a little disappointed, from the last time I stayed here, the website displayed grills were you could cook/grill outside like our previous stay, so we put meat in our cooler, and we I arrived both grills were removed, so we wasted our food. And the mini fridge couldn’t hold much, I wish they removed that from the pictures on the actual website

I have stayed at this property before over a year ago. This hotel still has overflowing trash cans out by the elevators, bad smell in the corridor and elevator. The breakfast lacked any fruit to select. The parking around the building with all the other businesses is awful.

Also, frustrating that neither room (we stayed here at front and back ends of trip) actually served as a suite because no linens were provided for the folks out soda bed. ALSO, neither toilet was working well. Had to get out of bed to tap the flapper so that they would stop running. This all happened with two separate rooms. Also, not impressed with overall comfort and upkeep. In general, not my accustomed experience with Quality Suites!

My stay was great even when I saw a roach on the wall behind the nightstand and a small black bug crawling on the sheet of the bed I slept on. It may be a good idea to spray the rooms and beds ever so often.

Definitely cheap for a suite. So you get what you paid for. little things like bathroom door I had to push like He-man to get in. Dresser drawer wouldn’t pull out. Coffee machine missing the piece to hold coffee in. Living room gets warm if bedroom door shut. Breakfast was suppose to be served til 10am. We went at 930 and they were putting it up. I stated I thought breakfast was til 930 and the person behind it just ignored me and continued to take away food. So even though little things like that I would definitely stay again because of location and the cost is great for a suite. Daily room service is nice. The receptionist was nice. All in all I like the place as the little things don’t outweigh the overall stay.

Lots of places near to eat and a very short drive to shopping at the outlets. The rooms were comfortable. The hotel was fine for what we needed. Looks like the ownership changed and things need to be updated but that didn't cause us any issues.

I called the number online and was directed to a call center. I advised the agent of a late arrival and was told I was ok until 7 a.m., now if he meant 7 pm, is not for me to decide. I was pumping gas about 25 mins from property and missed a call. I immediately called back, was hung up on, and upon reaching the front desk I informed him that I was en route and assured that he saw my reservation. Now, upon arrival the cost is more than quoted and I'm being told by THE SAME guy who I had JUST spoken to that my reservation was cancelled when I didn't answer and they created a new one (when I called back I guess). Well, when was someone going to inform me? He did not honor my initial rate and advised cancelling and trying again (on Labor Day weekend, yeah right). When checking out I noticed an empty beer box propping the back door and stupid me kicked it outta the way, bc I was unable to use my key (and it was raining). So I move my car to the front and inform the front desk. The agent said she can "send a signal"...now how exactly does that help me when I'm standing in the front lobby now? I was not pleased with treatment of the staff. Guests were friendly and some staff were cordial, but I will NOT stay here again.

I will nit recommend this property to anyone. Hallway, dining area and entryway floors visibly dirty during entire stay. Room coffee maker dirty. Air conditioning unit dirty and vents were broken. Microwave filthy and had to be changed out. Couch extremely soiled. Customer service curt and cobdescending except two staff members.

The check-in process was smooth. The young lady at the desk was courteous and attentive. I get on the elevator... It was torn up! vandalism scratches and marks were all over. The hallway looked run down with filthy carpets and dim lighting. The room was a great size, but that's where the appeal ended. The furniture had stains, hair, and crumbs all over. The walls were covered in random splatters and the carpet was FILTHY! I was traveling with a 2-year-old who would find a needle in a haystack if given the opportunity. There's no way he's staying in a room filled with the remnants of snacks past! I inspected the bed... more hair and crumbs. I checked the hand washing station...the towels looked used and the sink was covered in a random pink substance. At this point, I knew I would not be staying. The icing on the cake was that on my trip back to the lobby, another guest was holding a folded napkin with a bedbug she found in her room. Needless to say, I will NEVER stay here again. I was granted a full refund with no issues and found another hotel.

When we checked in it took an hour to get our room key. No receipts because I booked on line. The place was DISGUSTING. The carpet was stained and the elevator floors were really sticky. Go to our room and get off elevator and there is trash everywhere. Bathroom fan hasn’t been cleaned in years. Refused to take a shower due to cleanliness of the shower. Checked out again no receipt. Receptionist was rude.

I was traveling, and told that breakfast was 6-9, I waited until 615 and no breakfast. Faucet in room was not bolted down.

Everything is perfect with this place, except some of the people that stays here leave a strong smell of Marijuana that reeks loby, elevators. They should control more this because there are families and kids that stay here too. Also pillows are way to small.

Okay hotel for an overnight stay for family. Could use remodeling though. Currently looks like an old building that has had some cosmetic work done and needs a bit more. Fine for price we paid.
