Reviews
The hotel staff is consistently praised for being friendly, welcoming, and accommodating. The rooms are generally clean, comfortable, and spacious, with some guests highlighting the comfortable beds. However, there are recurring issues with room cleanliness, including dirty sheets, unclean bathrooms, and lack of regular housekeeping. Additionally, some guests have expressed dissatisfaction with the hotel's policies, such as no-refund and early check-in fees.

All is well for a one night stay

I enjoyed the buffet breakfast variety. Also, the separate seating area for watching television was nice. The front desk clerk was very helpful with my booking discrepancy that I encountered. The indoor pool was a plus.

Internet was fast. Very accommodating staff and had very good breakfast.
- 4/5
The staff was helpful and friendly, and we loved the large room and later check it time. A microwave in the room and a softer bed would have bumped this to 5 stars for us.

Very good free breakfast every day

Was convenient to everything we needed. We were in town for baseball tournament. Staff was very helpful, breakfast was enjoyed by our family. Only thing I could complain about was 1 elevator was out of order but we dealt. Would stay again.

The rooms were large, the breakfast was excellent but was late coming out one day. There is no microwave in the rooms, coffee is not 24 hours a day, pool was closed, rooms seemed to need a little more attention to cleanliness, the area around the hotel is run down.

Breakfast was excellent, extra care when computers were down when we checked in. Nice suite. Water pressure in the shower.

Bed was very comfortable Location is not good- unless you are looking for outlets close by and fast food joints I think it’s overpriced for what it is It was not super far from Charleston historic area but at some points in the day it could take you 45 minutes to get there due to traffic . Very inconvenient. I do not see why other reviews said excelled location. The room was questionably clean. We found stains not sure if it’s blood or food on the bathroom sink. Little spiders in the bathroom floor.

Price was good. Lack of staff. Arrived at 2:55 pm and told the staff woman just arrived at work and wasn't ready, made us wait 15 min so she could get situated and then checked us in. One elevator did not work. Alarm continually going off in entryway. Shower barely had any water pressure. Breakfast no clean plates and only a few clean bowls, no coffee first morning and asked if more was being made, told yes, but when asked again 20 min later, actually put the staff member in a huff saying she was trying to close down. So overall if price is your deciding factor, this is your place, otherwise stear clear. Usually only one person on the desk apparently covering everything.

“My husband and I recently stayed at the Hyatt on Ashley Phosphate after our home caught fire. We had already booked and paid online before arriving. While I understand hotels may require deposits and have non-smoking policies, the front desk employee’s tone and treatment toward us during check-in felt disrespectful and judgmental. We were exhausted from work and already dealing with a difficult situation, and instead of being treated with empathy or professionalism, we felt looked down on. I wanted to bring this to management’s attention because no guest should be made to feel that way.”

The evening staff was not very kind or helpful. We were not aware of the complementary water until we were checking out. We were buying it as we needed it. We were not supplied with clean towels every day and when asked we were told that she had to check to see if they had any dry ones, as if we were interrupting something important.

The lady that checked me in was absolutely fantastic very cordial very customer service oriented. The hotel was very clean as I walked in the hallways were clean. The elevators were a little slow, but they were admittedly having some issues with them at the time. Four hours on was very clean and the room was extremely nice. When I called down to see about the Wi-Fi they said that I did not have access to Wi-Fi even though I signed up for membership when I was in the room. But maybe it was because I went through an online website that got me the room cheaper. The breakfast was was good however they ran out of coffee and they also ran out of plates so I had to wait for about 15 to 20 minutes just to get a plate so that I could eat breakfast. There was one lady working and unfortunately the other person called in sick on a very busy day, which was a long weekend. I’m sure she did the best she could and I’m not complaining, but they were probably 30 people that drifted in between 830 and 10 o’clock looking for plates and coffee and had to wait. I didn’t see anyone else jumping in to help her unfortunately.

Nothing, property staff canceled my reservation, without my knowledge upon arrival. My reservation was reserved for pay at the property. Which wasn’t honored leaving me to scrambling for another hotel. The entire experience, staff were rude and unprofessional. Didn’t offer any accommodations or accountability for there mishandling of my reservation. Location was very inconvenient for activities and experience for this beautiful city.

Not a very pleasant stay breakfast was good being fair. But the snail slow moving elevator, unavailability of staff in DAYTIME i cant speak for the brother who worked the desk at night. I guess they were working on things, but in my view seemed like no urgency on it. So id expect nothing will change in a year.

The room was nice and clean. Because I live within 50 miles of this hotel I was charged a fee of $325. They initially did not tell me it was refundable. After about 10 minutes of me trying to figure out why being "local" is a penalty the manager finally told me it was refundable.

Only one elevator was working in the entire building. The one that was working was extremely slow.

Clean , spacious rooms . Breakfast poor . Location ok , about a 20 minute drive into downtown.

Your front desk staff are not personable or friendly at all and make you feel like you are bothering them!
- 3/5
The room was comfortable and quiet. No microwave, one of the clerks was not friendly; another wore a hat all the time. ONLY ONE OF THE TWO ELEVATORS WORKED! The door worked very slow, and it took 3 to 5 minutes before the elevator would come sometimes.

Breakfast and the good space in the room. no more. The old lady was not nice when I got to the hotel front desk. After the complicated check-in, the keys didn't work. I had to make them check 3 times. The bathroom was not perfectly clean, the doors had grease on them, and the bathtub had hair. I found food in the refrigerator, and I gave it to the guy at the front desk. The elevators weren't working properly, and only one was in service, The fee for the pet wasn't very clear at the moment when I made the reservation. My dog is officially certified as an emotional support animal, and I wasn't allowed to get into the breakfast place with him. Pay $75.00 just to be in the room?

Clean room, but the hallways are stinky. Pool had a smell and a weird shimmer to the water, we didn't go in. Not in a walkable neighborhood

Room was big and food what they had was good All the conferences at hotel
- 2/5
The second floor hallway had a terrible smell, the elevators were in disrepair (cracked tile, door opened very slowly like it was going to break, up and down arrows on second floor taped over), very sketchy area of town.
- 5/5
The rooms were very spacious. Darrin the front desk clerk was nothing absolutely AHHHHMAZING!! I would definitely book here again! I couldn’t get the TV remote to work but that was the only thing.
- 5/5
Check in was a breeze, room cleaned , shower was great . Peaceful environment. Close to stores and food
- 3/5
There would have been a 5 star here and there if the second elevator had been working and the 1st elevator worked efficiently. Housekeeping was terrible, we didn’t have any soap or body wash when we arrived and when we asked for some it took two days to get. Never had our bed made over three night stay. Operations manager was not attentive and borderline rude when we tried to get basic service. Front desk staff was wonderful.

Very good Very good
- 3/5
The breakfast menu was okay. The egg felt to dry and not fresh. The potatoes were good but not very many healthy options. They had good tea and big apples. The elevator was scary because it was too slow to open and close and the other one was not working. The room seem clean . The halls needed sweeping. Overall the hotel. was okay but the price reasonable It was not easy to walk to stores. I wanted a latte but I had to get an uber because it was not walkable.
- 4/5
Elevator broken and was on the 4th floor. That was hard since I had been traveling since 7am and it was 8 pm! Of course, not their fault just so tiring and the end of the day.
- 3/5
Breakfast was ok. Hotel was smelly and hot. Elevator was on its last leg. They were supposed to have cold drinks but fridge was broken. And had to ask for service for our room for clean towels
- 5/5
Quick check in. Friendly staff. Breakfast is good, variety. Good location, close to shopping, close to major high ways. Ample parking, but you have to come early to park close to the building. The one elevator working is really slow. This was our 2nd stay. Affordable and clean rooms.
- 5/5
The elevator did break for a while. Staff had a repair person fix it ASAP.
- 5/5
Very convenient location! The staff was very accommodating!
- 3/5
The Breakfast was fresh, however, fresh sliced tomatoes, avocado, or boiled eggs would be a great addition to breakfast. Parking felt safe, however, very close to an extended stay property. Really wish that I had taken photos of the hall and carpet which was very dirty. Not what I am use to having stayed several times at the Hyatt on Rivers in Savannah and also the Hyatt Regency in Baltimore, Maryland.
- 5/5
Excellent Breakfast and very clean property
- 4/5
The breakfast was great and parking was amazing. A pair of shoes was taken from my room and no one could account for them.

This hotel is the worst hotel we have ever stayed at. First off they only have one working elevator and the door takes forever to open. Their elevator certificate says 2023, we are now in 2026. When we let the staff know they relied with “we know we have let our boss know for weeks”. Second issue, we stayed for five days we asked everyday for house keeping and fresh towels and we kept hearing we will clean it within the house. As we were out and about for hours we came back late evening to nothing clean and no fresh towels. We had to go to the front desk where one single employee was working who was extremely overwhelmed get us out towels. The employee said your on our cleaning list for tomorrow, on the third day it was finally cleaned (same sheets used to remake bed and new towels). For two days the TV didn’t work and the front desk said they would call the provider. We had three rooms and no tvs worked so we knew it was the internet or service not our room. Our shower head didn’t have any pressure and when we mentioned it to the front desk they didn’t have maintenance available to look at it for a few days. My mom tried to get a glass of wine that was on the shelf and advertised and they didn’t have any wine left. Worst stay ever.
- 1/5
Very disappointed in our room. Hair on the wall of the shower, blood stains on pillow cases, room smelled musty, shower stopped draining, soap bar in shower actually fell off! Never again. Save your money and sanity and stay somewhere else.
- 5/5
Breakfast was fresh made each day and a nice variety each day.
- 3/5
The facility is quite old and needs an upgrade. The carpet is dirty.
- 3/5
Breakfast was ok, room was dirty, no toilet paper in the room, hair in the tub and on the floor, and the guy at the desk front(late night) was rude.
- 5/5
If I ever come back to Charleston, I would definitely stay here.
- 4/5
I would stay again.
- 1/5
Hotel.com didnt send over my reservation. The hotel charged me double for my stay. But before they charged me they locked me out my room. No one called me and I was so hurt. The staff was yelling with the rep from hotel.com.
- 3/5
Upon arrival I could not access my room due to squatters. The night staff worked tirelessly to get me another room. The elevator was moving very slow both up and down. Again despite the two issues the staff was GREAT
- 4/5
Everything was great except only 1 elevator was working and that one was barely working. Very slow.
- 5/5
Hot breakfast buffet was great, with new choices each day. Parking lot was spacious & easy to navigate. Staff was friendly. Overall it was a great stay—we’d definitely go back again
- 3/5
Room smelled bad and refrigerator did not work in room.
- 5/5
Great place
- 2/5
This hotel needs serious upgrades! The shower pressure is nonexistent, walls are thin, no USB/C cable in the room!
- 3/5
Goid breakfast, plenty of parking, nice staff
- 3/5
Nice selection for breakfast and kind staff. Parking was easy. The hotel seems a bit on the older side, but okay. If you’re easygoing, I can see you enjoying your stay, but if things like visible rust or older appliances bother you it may not be your cup of tea.
- 1/5
The hotel gave away our reservation after we didn’t come on night one, even though we’d pay for the entire stay. They provided no notice of this until I tried to check in. The staff was not nice and offered no help or compassion. “We had it say and now we’re sold out”, was all we were told.
- 3/5
Only one elevator worked. Carpeting showing age along edges.
- 5/5
Staff was very friendly and helpful. And I love that the hotel was pet friendly for my 2 fur babies
- 5/5
Everything was really good!
- 3/5
Elevator was slow and only one working. Carpet in room had burns and old.
- 1/5
The room were okay. But when we were trying to extend our stay for another night the staff were no help. They did offer anything. They basically said that you booked through Expedia you talk to Expedia. They didn’t even offer to book the extra night with them. So we booked the extra night somewhere else
- 4/5
The only thing I had a problem with was the Placery. They offer a little menu and everything seems great, but anytime I tried to order food from there, it was never open. I recommend showing the hours for the Placery and/or updating the website to say that it is closed. That would clear up some confusion for travelers.
- 3/5
Staff was kinl
- 3/5
They refuse to let you check your bag before the room is ready. I had to drag my bags around Charleston for eight hours from meeting to meeting. Entirely unacceptable amd the reason I could not stay here again.
- 5/5
Everything was great
- 3/5
Overall, the place was OK for 1 night; one elevator was not working.
- 2/5
The property is in terrible condition. Rooms are dusty, the key card doesn't work, no water pressure and the elevator is very slow. The staff for most part is courteous. Breakfast is typical.
- 4/5
Short staff. One person!
- 5/5
Breakfast was top tier. Linda, who hosted the breakfast area, was welcoming and beyond competent. Great experience !
- 5/5
we'll stay there again
- 1/5
Ok
- 4/5
Not really any complaints other than the choice of channels on the tv which is an individual choice. The room was nice and breakfast was good. The elevator needs attention!
- 5/5
Amazing stay with our pup. The property is super clean, great staff and only like 20min down to king street and all the lovely attractions. Oh and the breakfast was amazing! Def will stay here again
- 5/5
Smooth stay. The hotel was conveniently located near major expressway. I was pleased with the hotel conditions and the breakfast spread was well above average. Finally the staff was pleasant especially the kitchen chief.
- 4/5
Staff wasn’t available for room cleaning
- 5/5
Didn’t use either
- 4/5
Good value. Only complaint was that the elliptical machine and one of two treadmills in the workout room were out of order.
- 3/5
The pool area was nice for the kids morning. Breakfast was good. What I did not like was that there were no microwaves in any rooms having to go down to the first floor to heat food or too accommodate my family within the hotel was a hassle. It was nice for what I needed it to be, but it would not be a place that I will stay again. The staff were excellent kudos to the staff.
- 5/5
great staff cleanness breakfast good location out off the high way definitely ill stay again !!!!
- 5/5
Great stay
- 5/5
It was great
- 4/5
Room was very good, only complaint would be the shower…..very little water coming out/very low water pressure.
- 3/5
Staff is very nice. Best part of the hotel. The utensils at breakfast and plates were dirty. No microwave in the room. Slight power outage but not a big deal. One slow working elevator. Dumpster trash pick up was very loud next to our 4 th window. Housekeeping did not provide two extra blankets when requested. The nice night housekeeping provided them upon request later.
- 5/5
The staff was very friendly and helpful. The pool and workout room were great. Breakfast was delicious!
- 5/5
Being successfully self employed for over 40 years The ladies that work the front desk morning and evening shifts are overworked, trying to check people in and others wanting to buy snacks that have to be made in kitchen area. They were broke out in a sweat. You need to provide help for them or give them a big raise. We appreciated their commitment to satisfy everyone with a smile nevertheless the work load.
- 5/5
The staff was exceptionally kind and professional. They made us feel very welcome and they were proud of their work! And the breakfast was great! Lots of variety, hot and cold foods. Yummy!
- 5/5
Staff was so very friendly and always smiled. The amenities were great and I loved there were baked goods. I could get coffee or tea anytime. The room was so comfortable and felt like a home away from home.

No microwave in the room, bathroom light kept going out very limited hotel
- 5/5
We were there for a family matter and appreciated the professional and courteous staff, a clean and spacious room and we really enjoyed the breakfast. Compared to other hotel's complimentary basic breakfasts that are usually subpar. As always thank you Hyatt!!

Large modern room. Very Clean. Lobby was very nicely designed (my wife likes to have a cup of coffee at 6 AM and sit in a warm, inviting area). The fron desk staff was very friendly and wanted to do whatever we needed.

I give it 3 star because the staff was really nice and attentive. The hotel itself was dirty. The curtains were dirty like from a crime scene. The bottom ofsheets were stained yellow. You can smell lysol and clorox. The breakfast was not hot. I've stayed with thelis chain of hotels before and it has been excellent. But this location really needs some updating. I wouldn't stay here again. I was just passing through and it was one night so i delt with it.
- 5/5
All of the above. It was a great experience
- 4/5
It’s always a pleasure to stay here, it’s convenient and I feel safe. The staff is amazing . Now I have 1 complaint my bed wasn’t as comfortable as it usually is I felt the spring in mattress. Which has never happened before. Other than that . I was good
- 5/5
Our room was clean, spacious, and comfortable.
- 5/5
Thank you!
- 4/5
The front desk and breakfast staff were wonderful. I did find the furnishings a little dated and some cabinet doors could use a repair.
- 5/5
The receptionist named Beverly was upstanding, professionalism was amazing, she was truly knowledgeable with immaculate customer service etiquette. You need a Ms. Beverly in every Hyatt Place in The country. Give her a pay raise, she’s definitely deserving of it!
- 5/5
Staff was very friendly and helpful room was clean but had mold in bathroom shower Conor’s other than that it was nice comfortable room pool was very nice and a perk for the kids and big kids lol breakfast was very nice too my husband and kids ate down there no complaints we enjoyed our stay

Toilet was stopped up after 1 flush, part of the wood came up and out of the wall which is very dangerous with young children. The tv kept kicking us off and signing us out of everything at least 6 times in an hour and 99% of time the tv remote didn’t work.
- 5/5
Staff
- 5/5
Excellent
- 5/5
the staff very friendly
- 4/5
Very large room
- 2/5
The bathroom was so small you had to get in the shower or next to the toilet and wall just to close the bathroom door. The shower had someones hair in it. My husband had to fix the sink so it would drain. The couch gave me a rash sitting on it. No microwave in the room. For a Hyatt it was very disappointing. Would not stay at this hotel again. The only thing going for it was the breakfast and friendly staff
- 3/5
Staff very nice, breakfast was good It did have more hot options than most. Only one elevator working so very slow. Extra sofa sitting area was nice room felt larger. No safe or microwave in room. Air conditioner ran all the time didn’t seem to adjust on wall thermostat. Indoor pool was nice and warm enough to swim. Overall descent stay
- 5/5
Room was wondeful just like the picture when u booked it…staff was amazing especially ms.Tasha Washington beautiful personality helpful and goes up and beyond for the guess.
- 5/5
Very accommodating!
- 4/5
Friendliness of the staff!
- 4/5
The staff is very friendly and helpful. The first room that I was given had not been cleaned yet. The breakfast was excellent every morning.
- 5/5
Clean and spacious room. Hospitality was great, daily greeting from every member you met. Pool was warm. Breakfast was hot and served for a longer period. Only complaint was being in a room where the trash was collected/emptied at 450am several days during our stay. Will go back.
- 1/5
I finished my business so I decided to checkout two days early. This was a whole new problem. I booked my stay through Expedia. When I went to checkout, the staff told me I would have to get a refund from Expedia for the two days that I already paid for, so I called Expedia while standing at the front desk. The person on the phone from Expedia clearly told me, while on speakerphone, that the hotel would have to refund me as they ran my credit card. The hotel was steadfast that Expedia had to refund me. The representative from Expedia told them directly, from my phone, that they had to refund my money. They hotel staff personnel then said they couldn't do it as they were not authorized and their manager would have to do it. Of course, the manager was not in that day. I have yet to receive my refund. On top of all of this, my room always smelled musty. I would not recommend staying here.
- 5/5
Everything was fresh and on point
- 4/5
Clean
- 3/5
Decent Breakfast, no other good dining options during the day

When we arrived we immediately noticed issues 1) elevator was not functioning correctly the right side was not functioning at all the left side was slow and the door opened as if we were in a scary movie, creaking and super slow. Check in how ever was perfect the tiny young lady at the front desk was super nice, efficient and went over and above. We initially were given room 106 which once we got our selves and dogs unpacked our television in that room did not work so she immediately moved us to another room but we had the inconvenience of having to move We were expecting a restaurant as advertised but there was no food on site so I used door dash but the dashers are not allowed to bring food to door so I went down to lobby to wait for my food where I encountered a vagrant whom seemed to be waiting until I was going back to my room when I noticed his lingering I called my husband he realized what I had done and took off before my husband could get to me again because of the elevator that was not working properly. I suggest not staying on the north side but if you do choose a different hotel
- 1/5
I sat at the front desk for like 15 minutes while the from desk guy kept answering phone call after phone call. Arguing with one person on the phone repeating the same thing over and over again about a card issue. Was very frustrating as I was already there with 2 kids. With multiple bags. It was like 7/8 pm. It was cold outside. And I was ready to get settled. And then he tells me oh it’s gonna be double what you were already charged from Expedia because you are a “local” I was not a local. I tried explaining my license was not updated yet. And I lived an hour away from this exact hotel. Then after him getting on the phone with his manager she waved that fee and let me stay for the original amount that I already paid. But told me that I would not be getting the $15 convince fee back that the would keep it - okay whatever fine I was ready to be done. Room was ok. My bathroom walls were dirty. Then - I shut the bathroom door once (apparently you aren’t supposed to do that) so I had to call the front desk because it locks itself if shut. The front desk guy who also checked me in said “oh just stick a coin oh your nail in the slot to turn it it’ll open then” well guess what I didn’t have a coin. And my nail was NOT working. So I had to find a plastic piece out of our trash can to open our bathroom door back. I will not stay here again. An honestly - I wish I could just get my money back because I left immediately the next morning. Check out wasn’t till 12 and I left around 7.
- 4/5
Only one of the elevators was working and it looks like it’s been a while since it stopped working. Room was good no issues
- 3/5
Rushed out of breakfast area at 9:00 a.m. Coffee was cold. No offer to fix another pot. Left room at Noon on Sunday and returned around 6:00 p.m. to unmade bed, and no clean towels in bathroom.
- 5/5
LOVED my stay!! The room was nice, the staff was friendly and the beds were so comfortable. The only thing I really didn't care for is the microwave not being in the room, having to go downstairs all the time is annoying. But the breakfast was very good loved the options everyday, they just really need more than 1 person in the kitchen. Would stay here again!
- 5/5
My room was great! The staff amazing!
- 5/5
Good hotel for family
- 2/5
The room had dog hair and the beds was not clean
- 3/5
Bathroom tile and grout was quite dirty. Overall, the building and room were quite warn and in need of many updates

Hotel: Hyatt Place North Charleston Check-in: January 14, 2026, around 8:00 PM Booking: Expedia (fully prepaid) This was one of the worst check-in experiences I’ve had, and it was completely unacceptable for a Hyatt-branded property. Excessive wait time at check-in Upon arrival around 8 PM, we were left waiting at the front desk for an unreasonable amount of time, with no explanation or apology. Unprofessional and disrespectful front desk behavior I booked this stay through Expedia and the reservation was fully prepaid. I provided: • The credit card used for the reservation • A valid government-issued ID Although my last name matched exactly, the reservation was made using my commonly used name (not my legal name), which I have been using without issue for over 10 years when traveling. Instead of handling this professionally, the front desk agent became dismissive and deliberately difficult. He even said, in a condescending tone: “It’s my first day on the job. I don’t know.” This did not come across as an explanation—it felt like an attempt to lecture or embarrass a paying guest while avoiding responsibility. Abandoned the check-in process In the middle of the check-in process, the front desk agent walked away without saying a word to handle matters at another property, leaving us standing there. After several minutes, he returned and continued as if nothing had happened. This was extremely unprofessional.
- 1/5
There was a lot of noise that I heard from people on my floor. I had my door closed and could hear other guest talking in their own room. The entire 5th floor smelt like weed. Only 1 working elevator that was extremely slow. My room was also pretty gross…. Soap scum in the shower, hair on the couch, and it didn’t seem as if the floors were vacuumed.
- 5/5
Staff was helpful and friendly. The room was very clean.Good size room.
- 5/5
Friendly staff.
- 5/5
Rooms were spacious and clean. Staff was super nice
- 4/5
The front desk staff lacked personality. The young lady doing the food was bubbly and friendly going about her job. The shower head had a lot to be desired, curtains were falling. Room was clean
- 4/5
Great Service by the front desk. Rooms need a little updating. Breakfast coffee was terrible.
- 2/5
Service was terrible. Poor hot water - took 10+ minutes to warm up. Only one elevator worked. The other was on it's last leg. Waited 45 minutes to check in as only one person was at the front desk. Breakfast was very poor quality.
- 5/5
Breakfast was great. Larger room than most other hotels. Beautiful facility.
- 5/5
Super quick and easy.
- 5/5
Everything was nice!!
- 5/5
The staff was amazing!!! It was a little unexpected not having a microwave in the room. Also, I recommend a seated area for smokers, especially disabled ones. The breakfast was great and the chocolate chip cookie was delicious! The staff heated our cookies up...they went above and beyond my entire stay. I will definitely recommend this particular location.
- 5/5
Everyone was pleasant!
- 2/5
The room was old, dirty, and had an unpleasant smell. We asked housekeeping to clean the room, but the service never arrived.
- 4/5
The front desk staff were very kind and helpful. Room was clean and comfortable. One of the two elevators was out of order so there did tend to be a long wait.
- 1/5
Staff members are rude. I could not find the hotel. While booking through Expedia, it projected to be closer than where the Hotel is located. I paid for 2 days. Upon late arrival there was no room available that I already paid for. No refund was given. It appears like Fraud to me. Be careful with any hotels that takes your money up front.
- 5/5
Staff was extremely mice
- 4/5
Overall the property is nice. The bathrooms are very outdated and need upgrades. The water pressure was low in the shower. There was only one elevator working which was cumbersome during check-in/out hours. Also, there is a veteran’s community under construction adjacent to the property. I am not sure how it will affect the hotel.
- 5/5
Breakfast was good with nice variety. Lots of parking
- 5/5
we requested a pack and play for our baby to sleep in and it was immediately brought to us.
- 4/5
For the price, this is reasonable — no complaints. The staff were friendly and cheerful. And given the price, you shouldn’t expect much for breakfast..
- 5/5
The room was spotless and the night staff was very friendly. Breakfast was not the best, but it was okay.
- 5/5
My stay couldn't have been better. Thanks!
- 4/5
Good bed, great breakfast, friendly service, clean room, but slight smell of like wet dog or something in the hallway.
- 5/5
Nice accommodating staff, nice rooms
- 4/5
Room was clean, one elevator under repair the other one very slow, but a good stay.
- 3/5
The staff was professional. There was vomit in the elevator from 8:30 am till I checked out at 12:00. I let someone in housekeeping know and the front desk.
- 4/5
Staff were friendly and helpful would stay again just based on the service
- 4/5
good staff...
- 4/5
staff was always very friendly and helpful. our dirty towels were not replaced and room wasn't cleaned. had to ask to replace the used towels. great breakfast buffet!
- 1/5
The front desk staff did their jobs well enough but we found a bed bug in our bed a couple of hours after check in. We have 2 young kids so we can't always inspect immediately but once we got a chance to, my husband found it.
- 1/5
I did not get a chance to stay. I was not informed of a $250 deposit, and would like a refund.
- 3/5
Everything was except for the shower water didn’t get hot
- 5/5
Very friendly staff, only issue was only one elevator work and it was very slow.
- 5/5
Clean room, friendly staff.
- 4/5
It’s a stay in North Charleston don’t expect much more than that
- 4/5
The room was nice. But there was no microwave and no charging stations for our phones. The light plate in the bathroom was broken, and the bulb burnt out on our last day. We let the front desk know and we were checking out that day so not a problem.
- 5/5
Thanks
- 5/5
Room was clean, staff was very nice. The experience was great as always.
- 2/5
This hotel was extremely disappointing. We picked this hotel specifically bc it had a restaurant and bar. We wanted to be able to have nice meals and drink without having to worry about driving. However, once we checked in and inquired about the restaurant/bar, we were told that the restaurant hasnt been in operation since BEFORE covid!! There were still signs for it in the Elevator! And on their website! And the 'bar' was a little 'cooler' with a few beer type drinks and white claw type drinks in it. We were very annoyed but, hey, atleast there was a continental breakfast right? Wrong. There was def food down there but what was actually sparingly there looked rubbery, cold and gross and there was water leaking from something and was all over the floor. Needless to say, we went across the lot to Cracker Barrel. Only 1 elevator works and has been that way for some time apparently and the 1 that does work is EXTREMELY slow and the door takes a full 30 secs to open. That may not seem like a long time, but trust me, it is. The bed was comfortable but the rooms are outdated. The carpet appeared clean but was bunched from repeated walking and needed to be stretched. The shower had pubic hair in it when we got there and we never were able to take a HOT shower. The water never got over luke warm... at best. The rooms do not have microwaves and considering they removed the restaurant, they need to supply the rooms with microwaves. The temp was hard to regulate as well. 10/10 👎
- 4/5
Staff was really friendly very comfortable room.
- 3/5
I found my room to be ok except the TV didn’t work. After a call to the front desk we were transferred to another room. In this other room the light in the bathroom was out and the thermostat would not allow me to change from cooling to heat mode. I was however able to turn the cooling off. Exhausted I resigned myself to the fact it wouldn’t get any better and went to bed. Other than poor maintenance our stay was satisfactory.
- 5/5
Was good few things did not work in room but was good overall
- 5/5
Clean room, clean hotel, and the staff was professional and very courteous!
- 5/5
We love the place
- 5/5
Room was very clean. Staff was very helpful and efficient.
- 5/5
Nice spacious clean room.
- 3/5
The stay was okay. The hotel is close to the airport so you will hear airplanes which I was not expecting. The light in our bathroom would randomly go out. I was also unaware that this was a pet friendly hotel and the room next to us had a dog that continuously barked until almost midnight. The hallway floors were in much need of vacuuming. The manager was very friendly and helpful.
- 3/5
Room was clean bathrooms are old tub leaks on floor Door is water logged. Breakfast food fine but ran out of hot foods 2 days in row Romany guests not enough food toaster oven not
- 5/5
Great place to stay for a weekend charleston trip
- 5/5
It was really comfortable the atmosphere was really welcoming. The staff was really engaged with the guests making sure that everyone was okay and Happy. When we travel from this point forward. The Hyatt is where we will stay.

- 5/5
we will be back yummy coffee cozy beds
- 5/5
Check in was great!
- 3/5
Good price. Old and outdated. No coffee in the lobby 2 days in a row
- 1/5
I think that the whole management of this hotel was rude and didn’t concerned about my well-being. I did not stay the two days I book ‘ We were in an We were in a relationship and it wasn’t Had an emergency and I will pay for two days. They could have offered some type of refund to accommodate my situation that occur, but they didn’t, very rude. What do you think?
- 5/5
Breakfast was the best! Always stayed full of options. The staff was so nice and wonderful! I wish there was a hot tub, but other than that we had a great stay! There was homeless down the street and even caught one looking in cars but it was a good location otherwise.
- 1/5
We got caught in the elevator. This so so terrible
- 5/5
The staff was amazing
- 5/5
Amazing
- 5/5
stayed one night, safe area, very clean hotel
- 4/5
I spent 3 nights as I was visiting friends. It was a very comfortable stay.
- 5/5
Only complaint I have is there was only one elevator working.
- 4/5
Check in and customer service was top teir.
- 5/5
Great!
- 3/5
All I can say is It was OK.
- 1/5
Check in was a nightmare, waited 45 minutes because a hockeys teams rooms were not ready due to laundry. Room was so noisy, outdated, only one elevator, no WiFi ( lied to many times that IT was working on it ). We left a day early and the mgr never asked why. Just a sad situation
- 5/5
Clean room, friendly front desk and comfortable stay. Couldn’t ask for more
- 4/5
The refrigerator didn't work. They only had one elevator working. My room was ready at check in.
- 5/5
Overall, our stay was excellent. There were two minor problems; one elevator was out of operation and the bathroom vent fan in our room, made a rumbling noise. The room was clean, the staff professsional and friendly, the breakfast menu was varied and delicious. The atmosphere was family and business friendly.
- 2/5
Hotel itself is not that bad. But the employees are either not trained, or overworked or just bad and should not to work in the hospitality industry. Stayed here for a couple of times and all the front desk team are just mean ladies with horrible attitude
- 2/5
There was something seriously wrong with staffing. I arrived at 2:30 to check in and waited for two hours in a line of people to get checked in. They mentioned having trouble with housekeeping andb getting times cleaned. While one person worked the desk, two were in the office eatting for an hour. I finally got checked and got to my room by 4:30 pm. I was supposed to be at a work event by 4 pm. When I got into my room it was a mess! It has not been cleaned at all. Dirty dishes in the sink, no toilet paper. Not at all what I expected for Hyatt. When I got back from my work event, the room was clean and breakfast in the morning was nice, however, I could not find anyone at the desk desire trying 3 times to talk to them about the previous day's issues. I have pictures of you would like them but someone needs to check up on this location. I plan to travel to Charleston again but am hesitant to book at this hotel.
- 5/5
Room was clean, shower was fantastic
- 5/5
Did not use
- 5/5
Everything was great. Only thing was pool was cold but the kids didn’t care so we were all good!
- 5/5
The staff was amazing and attentive. The guy at the front desk suggested that I buy some cookies and I was not disappointed.
- 5/5
Very roomy and comfortable new couch. Bed was great also. Clean property. Breakfast was also good.
- 4/5
Place was great overall but it would be better if they added a microwave in the rooms.
- 4/5
Easy check-in & Check-Out. Good Breakfast. No Complaints.
- 2/5
I asked for room service to clean our room the house keeper did not come and clean it not once the whole stay very upset asked for clean towels and rags had to keep going to front desk for that the housekeepers were rude and the area was not a good area so I was not very pleased with this hotel and the walls are thin I could here the washing and dryer going
- 5/5
Breakfast was fabulous!! Price was great, loved the king room with large sleeper sofa couch and coffee table. A great room to relax in. Would definitely stay here again!!
- 4/5
Nice
- 5/5
Staff were attentive. All went the extra mile.
- 4/5
Not much nearby
- 4/5
The room was fine, however, when you first walked in it, slight smell to the room/
- 4/5
Nice hotel, nice rooms very quiet very busy
- 1/5
Really enjoyed the hotel, our second night there our vehicle was broken into. There were no cameras present so we had nothing to go on. Cops came and did all they could but still a great loss for my business there. Probably won't return to area again.
- 5/5
Only Bathroom shower corners & outside the shower had mildew. Housekeeping was good too.
- 5/5
We enjoyed the breakfast
- 4/5
Night front desk clerk not very friendly. She had a hard time finding reservation. Took her a bit to be able to find it. May need training with their computer system. Some areas are dingy and worn. Overall ok place to stay.
- 5/5
The hotel was great and the staff was very accommodating. Breakfast was great with plenty of options.
- 2/5
Entering our room, there were 2 red straws under the table. I was done. It’s old and needs to be renovated.
- 5/5
Good breakfast and nice rooms
- 2/5
Booked this room for the size but ended up being the smallest room I have ever stayed in. Description says 500 sq feet. That's a lie. More like 200. Staff was excellent and breakfast was wonderful. However wanted to spread out but could not. Should have just brought my camper
- 5/5
The rooms were clean and the lobby was as well, the breakfast selection wasn't wide but it was good.
- 5/5
Great Spacious Room with Walk in Shower. Loved our stay
- 5/5
The staff was extremely friendly and helpful each time you encountered them. The room was clean as expected. Even though it’s right off a major road, you couldn’t hear the noise.
- 4/5
The staff was very friendly and the breakfast was amazing. The elevator was down but it was not a deal breaker. We had a big bug in our shower the first night but I didn’t see any others during our stay. I would suggest an update of carpet and bathrooms. It was clean and comfortable. I would stay there again.
- 4/5
Breakfast
- 5/5
Good service
- 1/5
The hotel stay was not comfortable and they asked us for $25 extra because we checked out 50 mins late.
- 5/5
Solid
- 5/5
Great place.
- 5/5
Stayed a week and every staff member we ran into was pleasant and friendly. Enjoyed our stay, breakfast was decent, not bad at all.
- 4/5
It was appropriate for the price. Clean and well maintained. Breakfast was hot, fresh and varied. One elevator is down but it appears they are replacing it at the moment. Pool was clean and well maintained. One service error when I asked for new bathroom linens to be brought to my room, the front desk said they would. Then failed to follow through. Possibly a misunderstanding as I expected daily service. Apparently this is no longer normal at most hotels. If front desk could focus more on their incoming guests, I think this hotel would be spot on. All that to say my wife and I will be staying there again in the future. Mostly well done Hyatt.
- 3/5
Ok no better
- 5/5
The staff were amazing! Friendly and helpful. Linda in the kitchen is an awesome cook and the front desk staff were outstanding
- 4/5
Breakfast was good
- 5/5
Staff were polite. Room was clean. I will stay again
- 5/5
Awesomeness
- 5/5
Staff members were very helpful!
- 5/5
Very clean and the very friendly staff
- 2/5
The property has food grading of a “B”. My family did not eat anything from the hotel however, when I went to check out there was an unauthorized charge billed to my room. The hotel manager never came from the back room to address the issue or apologize for the inconvenience.
- 5/5
Everyone is pleasant when entering check in is a breeze
- 5/5
The property is clean and the hosts are friendly. This was a repeat visit and will continue to be our hotel of choice for the area.
- 4/5
First time in my life I was charged $50 for early check-in. So, they had available rooms. But! If you arrive a few hours earlier than 2 p.m. (check-in time), you have to sit in the lobby (or wherever) or pay $50 to get the key to your room, which is already cleaned and ready. I think it’s ridiculous. Hyatt made $50 but lost a frequent traveler. Congrats.
- 5/5
Couldn't say anything bad. Thanks for the hospitality.
- 5/5
We had the best time..Staff was great, room was big, food was great. Microwave in room would've been convenient but my friend went back downstairs to heat up food i had that got cold. Overall, I would stay again if ever in Charleston.
- 3/5
The people that run the property were absolutely amazing. It is starting to show his age for sure. The Workout Center was absolutely miserable. It was so hot with no AC. The elevator has been broken since 4/8/ 25.
- 5/5
Only stayed here one night, but it was a peaceful night quiet the continental breakfast was outstanding the staff at the front desk. It’s very pleasant if I’m back in Charleston again I will recommend this hotel.
- 5/5
Out everything was great
- 5/5
Good property very clean except bed cover stained
- 2/5
Tv was oudated. Blankets were old and dingy. Pet hair was seen all over room. Shower pressure was low. Ice was dirty. Very poor experience!
- 2/5
Upon entering the room, a strong smell of urine was present. As a pet-friendly hotel, it is essential to ensure the rooms are cleaned thoroughly. I went to take a shower, and the shampoo and body cleanser containers were empty. It seems to be a problem in all the hotels, and one I wish they would revert to using small bottles. That way, we know we have shampoo and body wash when we step into the shower. Overall, I was very disappointed with this stay, considering the amount of money spent.
- 3/5
There was a trash bag forgotten by the staff at the entrance of the hotel when we arrived, it did not look good. The furniture in the living room was out of place as if they have not reviewed the room before the expected chicken in time. I order a coffee of coffee because it was advertised as Starbucks, they gave me water w coffee flavor. They should not sell Starbucks if their staff is not properly trained as baristas.
- 4/5
Lots of traffic and very slow elevators in the building
- 4/5
They can not help our others act!
- 5/5
Great place to stay! A few negatives- there is never anyone at the front desk to help. They need more staff. The pool was under maintenance and the air was broken in the gym. However, it was very clean and the room was big! Also, great buffet breakfast!
- 5/5
Dontae was amazing at helping us. I needed a few things and without hesitation he jumped right in to assist. He also gave us food options which helped out a lot. Charleston is bigger than my city with double the traffic. The young man that checked us in was very nice as well. Great energy I don't know if it was Michael but he is very positive and a great face at the desk. I manage a resort in Myrtle Beach and I would hire both of them. Thanks for the impeccable service.
- 5/5
Nice stay, place was clean and not too far from activities
- 5/5
Hotel staff was super helpful and friendly!
- 3/5
Right in the middle of a large family reunion. Requested another room due to the level of noise at 4:00 pm and the parking lot about half empty. “Nothing available” was the response. At breakfast, could not get someone to refill the decaf coffee urn for over an hour.
- 5/5
Such great service from the staff! Very helpful and friendly all the time!
- 5/5
Very nice and quiet hotel, great clean rooms
- 5/5
Loved everything
- 5/5
Room was good, clean. Updated shower. Cold water in a pool ;)
- 3/5
Overpriced for sure. Our room was only cleaned once during our 3 night stay. When I requested some clean towels I was told I needed to come down and get them at the front desk. The staff was pleasant enough but they all seemed a bit lackadaisical. I wouldn’t stay here again.
- 5/5
Would definitely stay here again. For the price it was fantastic. The TV is in the middle so you can use it at the couch or bed. They need a mount that can swivel the TV more.
- 1/5
I paid $160 a night and it was not worth it. They never cleaned my room and the pool was nasty. After my first night there I seen on the sight the rooms were $107 a night and felt like I was ripped off!! They never cleaned the room and I had to clean it myself and ask for towels.
- 3/5
Had 2 rooms , AC not working in 1 room , called twice . Someone came and tried to fix it, but couldn’t and called again and no one ever came.or followed up

Good hotel for the cost. AC did not cool room properly, and they were short staffed in the evening.

They had an amazing hotel breakfast. They had a variety of breakfast for different food intolerances. The staff was consistently welcoming. We felt very spoiled.
- 5/5
Property was very nice, the service was very friendly. Property was clean. Property is very kid friendly. Only thing i didnt like was there was no sitting benches outside.

nice room good breakfast. however a little farther from downtown then I thought. very busy hard to get around. would not stay there again due to the traffic situation.

This place left a very bad taste in my mouth. I will not recommend anyone staying here unless you want an invasion of privacy by the maintenance man walking into your room without knocking when he knew someone was in there bc the tv was on and you can here my fiancé and I talking. There is no microwave in the room and there was no room attendant the whole time we stayed.

Nice, clean, friendly staff. Breakfast bar was great.

Trust me the cheap rates arent worth it! On our 5 night stay, we got clean towels once and i had to go down to the front desk 3 times for that. Elevator takes at least 5 min. Long black hairs were in the bed sheets! Rooms smell like mold and weed! Another family staying beside us had her car broken into. I also have no way of proving but all the money out of my wallet went missing in the room. Which is why I think the staff refused to go in there. We booked this place for a baseball tournament. My family stays in hotels about 30 nights a year. This was by far the worst. AVOID AT ALL COST!

The. Staff. Was excellent.

I would rate much higher but, when we checked in room wasnt ready and had to get another room. Had to consistently ask for toiletries and towels. Rooms were cleaned once every 3 days as opposed to our stay the previous year which was everyday. The elevators were consistently down and lines were forming at the one working elevator. Night shift staff was cold and indifferent and made us felt more of a bother than welcome.

OK enough.

Just OK. Room was next to the dumpster as I found out at 3:45 Friday morning when the sanitation truck backup beeper and dumpster emptying happened. The hotel was clean enough but parts of it are starting to show their age. Only one of the 2 elevators worked, and even that broke the day we checked out and we had to carry our luggage down the stairs. Luckily we were on the 2nd floor. They were unable to change the date after booking through Orbitz and trying to get them to change the date (both through Orbitz and calling directly), so make sure you have selected the correct date. Reserved another room for the correct date and stayed 2 days instead of one. The breakfast was above par for a hotel breakfast, and the location is convenient to get to.

Fix ELEVATORS
- 2/5
It's just okay, I expected better from Hyatt. One of the elevators didn't work the entire stay, and today the other elevator was down for some time this morning. My daughter ordered food from the hotel, the desk man had no clue about the soup on the menu, she decided on the turkey sandwich, and he gave the round around. I've never heard of turkey thawing for 40 minutes. The pool was small but decent and the breakfast was good. The staff was a nice group.

Good, solid location.

Huge, clean rooms. Massive, delicious breakfast! Some minor damage to the room (peeling wall paper, door stop jammed into the wall, etc).

The staff was great, but the elevator was broken on one side. One elevator was working and the other one wasn’t. The light in the bathroom was broken. I reported it and it was looked at , but still didn’t work. The hallway trash by the elevator stayed full and began to smell after 4 days of not being emptied . I had a dirty spread on my bed upon arrival and had to get that changed. They never had enough towels. I always had to make a trip downstairs to pick up towels and washcloths after our room was cleaned. The pool was unusable. There was no restaurant as mentioned in the brochure and on the website. Very disappointing.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. Overall the hotel was a great option as it was close enough to the areas we wanted to go, but fit within our budget.

The male receptionist was wonderful.

I really liked how close the motel was to the Interstate. My trip was for a funeral, so I needed convenience in traveling. The continental breakfast was good (I had gluten free options) plus we were within walking distance to Cracker Barrel.Although the room didn't seem as updated as other motels I've stayed at, the facilities seemed clean.

Staff friendly clean

I except amenities this isn’t my first time staying in this Hyatt. Breakfast was not good potatoe was spicy eggs dry. Room didn’t even have complementary water. Like I said this isn’t my first time in the Hyatt hotel. I I chose this hotel over area of the hotel area because of the history that I have had with them and it was very disappointing.

Great place
- 4/5
The hotel had a funk about it, but was overall ok, especially for the price. The pool had a sign saying the county closed it, so that was sad for my kids and sketchy for the overall cleanliness of the place.
- 4/5
No vending machine in the floors. It was hard to get any water to drink. Needed to go to front desk late night. Toilet did not flush properly also.
- 3/5
Breakfast was ok - typical food. Easy to get to off the freeway, and close restaurants.
- 4/5
Very nice people at the front desk. Nicely maintained property. My room was large and quiet and very comfortable. Overall a great hotel. The area around it is not so great with an abandoned hotel across the street and a sketchy old neighborhood behind but you don't notice those while staying. One complaint: they played club type music very loudly in the lobby area which was not pleasant.

This place is clean and quiet!
