Best Western Burbank Airport Inn

There were people smoking in the parking lot, homeless people wandering through the lobby, and the area rug in the lobby was stained and filthy. The “receptionist” was nice enough to cancel my reservation after I called Expedia and told them there was no way I was going to stay at that property. Expedia should remove it from their site!

Great location, handy for bus to take you to the north hollywood metro. Tasty breakfast, comfy beds, parking underneath the hotel. Some furniture a bit tired and worn, see attached photos of chair and bedside cabinet. There are double parking spots on one side of the garage, it would be easy to get blocked in. You are meant to leave your car keys with reception to prevent this happening.

This place is pretty much what you would expect an average hotel would be in the middle of North Hollywood. The place was clean and the staff were all very friendly. It feels a little dated at this point, but that wasn't a real negative. Parking is a little odd with the tandem parking. The breakfast was all that great, but I didn't really expect much to begin with. It is a good spot to stay if you need an overnight before a flight out of BUR or are on a business trip.

This hotel is very nice...it's very clean...the room was very nice. We were there for 1 night, and flew from Burbank airport the next morning. Did not get to have breakfast due to early flight and 7a breakfast start time. We didn't have a car, and there was very little to do and see within walking distance. Also the lack of restaurants was very poor within walking distance. Like I said, the hotel itself is very nice, but the area doesn't offer much...and the noise level outside the hotel overnight was a distraction. As nice as this hotel is, it's not likely we would stay here again.

PROS - clean room, mostly quiet, free breakfast, comfortable bed, free parking. The guy who checked me in was nice. Note that for parking there are limited spaces, and double parking is necessary toward the end of the day, meaning that an employee would be moving your car (in my case a rental car) if you blocked someone in, and your own car may be blocked in by someone else, in which case you would need to wait for that car to be moved by an employee before you could leave. I don’t want to hand keys to my rental car over to a random employee. CONS- Despite the name, it is NOT an airport location. It’s several miles away from the airport and in ANOTHER WORLD in terms of surroundings— the GPS route from the airport took me past rundown buildings, graffiti, car repair shops, liquor stores, homeless encampments, and trash. I was praying that I would turn a corner and the hotel would be in a nicer neighborhood, but that was not the case. The hotel location is bad. There’s extremely limited dining in the vicinity, and as a solo female traveler, I would not have felt safe walking out of sight of the hotel. Cable TV was “out” for my entire second day and night, as well as the morning of my departure day. The front desk worker said it was a “hotel-wide problem” and left it at that.

A coffee maker in the restroom is disgusting. Shower head was moldy. And the only parking space was double parking only if the single parking spaces were taken, in which you’ll need to hand your key off to the front desk for them to move your vehicle if you were the one who double parked in the event that the car who is blocked in needs to get out. None of this is shown in any of the hotel photos. Also, the toilet paper rolls are entire reach away from the toilet itself. If you have short arms or not flexible, good luck.

The property is aged, but they have done well to keep it up. Breakfast completely exceeded expectations and Laura was a great and gracious host every morning. Housekeeping was great and did wonders cleaning up after our kids despite us trying to do it ourselves. Between free parking and the breakfast, this place is a diamond in the rough. Easy access to Universal and the staff is all so kind.

Rooms were nice and there was a full breakfast every day (eggs and either sausage or bacon, toast, yogurt and juice). The cleaning service was good. Parking was double parked. So if you parked behind someone, you had to leave your keys at the desk. That was odd but it worked. We were third floor and heard quite a bit of street noise. So not very quiet. If you want a workout room, this is not your place. It is a small office, glass door and three pieces of equipment.

Breakfast was an okay hotel breakfast. There were some form of eggs each day and a meat. They had a make your own waffle station and included chocolate chips and whip cream along with butter and syrup. Breakfast was very friendly and greeted us each morning.

Parking: They require double parking in the garage. There is a reasonable chance that your car will be blocked in by another car. That person who double parked is "supposed" to leave their keys at the desk so that the car can be moved if needed. They need to disclose this. Once we were able to get a parking spot that would not likely be blocked, we were reluctant to leave the hotel and go out for dinner. The neighborhood is horrible. The breakfast was average. The coffee was almost undrinkable. The clerk working the desk was helpful and honest. Next time we visit this area we will try another place.

Hotel is located in a rough neighborhood but the room was very nice, clean & comfortable, the staff was friendly and accommodating (we wanted to leave our car on the premises for a few hours after we’d checked out) and the free breakfast had more variety than expected and was replenished constantly.

The room was clean, quiet. The staff was nice, but the vending machine (the only source of bottled water) was broken the whole time I was there. Breakfast was meager. But I’d come back for the cleanliness and polite staff.

Check in is 3 pm and got there at 2 pm, the Staff is charging us us $20 to check in 1 hour early. Getting in and out of the building is hard because of the Location, other than that I guess it’s ok .

Room is basic, adequate. TV is rather large and easy to navigate using the channel guide. No apps necessary. Rooms are not sound proof or close to it. Street is rather noisy. Not the best neighborhood, but really close to airport. There was no hot water for my shower this morning. Would not stay here again.

Morning / Breakfast staff (Laura & the lady during the weekends) were very helpful and efficient. They make sure the food is restack during the period and they are very friendly.

The room was nice, pretty quiet for a bigger city and they had a nice breakfast too. But as I was packing up my things and double checking the room I found a used condom under the bed and was then rushed out by housekeeping after asking and being told I could have a late checkout.

Hotel is clean parking is easy. The housekeeper Ms. LAURA is absoutley amazing and so friendly what a gem she had a smile every time we saw her. Our room was facing a busy street with loud traffic all day and night, making it dofficult to sleep. But overall it was a nice place to stay.

This was the last night of our 2 week West Coast trip. We checked in after 8pm and left early morning without b'fast. Check-in was fast and comfortable. The hotel doesn't look much from outside but it is nice and clean outside. I doubt the area has much for families though. Room was nice and clean. Staff was pleasant and helpful. Good wifi.

This hotel felt unsafe. I really would not recommend it, especially to family's. Definitely should not be showing up as a suitable alternative as a place to stay nearby Universal Studios. SHAME ON YOU EXPEDIA. I will be using other websites from now on.

My 3rd time staying here, and all staff has been great, the rooms are very clean and very quiet, all rooms are accessible by passing the front desk, and doors stay open till midnight or later, which at that time they have a ring bell. Great spot!

What wood out the most was the breakfast. Service person (Laura) was extremely accommodating, friendly, and on top of it all!!!

Overall, this was a decent experience. The road that the hotel is on is a noisy road. My room was located by the street so this unfortunate. Also, on the weekend the breakfast does not start until 7, this was inconvenient for me. Still though, given the few negatives, I’d stay here again.

The inside of the hotel is in very good condition and allof the hotel staff were pleasant and helpful. The surrounding neighborhood is not the nicest, but it is a convenient and central location, which worked great for us to attend Universal Studios and the beach.

If I am going to visit LA I do not stay in this area but because we have a reason to go specifically to this area that is why we stayed in this hotel. Not that the hotel is bad but the area is not the best area.

I was pleasantly surprised by the free continental breakfast! They switched up the menu each day but also had standards as alternatives. The staff was all very friendly.

This is my second time staying at this hotel. The inside of the hotel is clean. The outter part of the hotel blends in with the LA streets. Other than that, my room was clean and the pillows and bed made for a peaceful night’s rest. The breakfast area is also clean. Not bad for what it’s worth.

The bed was wonderful. Soft, large, and extremely comfortable. Lots of lofty pillows. The breakfast was well done. Eggs cooked just right and same with the sausage. Coffee was hot and tasty, but the lid on my cup leaked all over my white tee shirt and it was on as tight as it possibly could have been. I was very disappointed with that. The towels were thin and got soaked quickly. I didn’t like that. The refrigerator didn’t keep anything cool, so that stunk. The shower head sprayed water all over the floor during showering making a soggy mess. But the thing that bothered me the most was the filthy carpet. It was certainly well swept but dirty, dirty, dirty. Finally, the iron in the room never got hot enough to press my linen shirt and I couldn’t get it to spray water. I tried to use the “business center” to print off a couple docs. But the equipment was so old that I couldn’t get it to work. The girl at the front desk told me to email the doc to her and she would print it from the front desk. This took quite a long time. She said her printer was old and slow but newer than the one in the business center.

The property is centrally located near the Burbank Airport, it is tucked away in between buildings. There is limited parking in an underground lot, but when I visited there was ample parking. The room was spacious and comfortable. I liked that the rate included a full breakfast and my room on the 3rd floor was adjacent to the breakfast room. It was quite noisy from street traffic and also the air conditioning unit was very loud. I traveled alone and felt safe. The staff was friendly and accommodating.

The hotel is well maintained, rooms are in very good shape, there is daily room service comoared with other hotels, breakfast is decent, but the outside of the hotel, because of the neighborhood make up, there were some beggers, some alcohol and maybe other kind of abuse fellows that made it uncomfortable to walk by, not an issue if you drive in and out, but if you dare to walk outside, i would strongly advice not to think about....

The king bed was so comfy and the pillows. Went for breakfast in the morning and was super surprised of all the options Waffles,eggs,bacon, cereal, yogurt,bread and bagels

The carpet at the hotel is old and dirty. The rest of the hotel is in good condition. The breakfast is awesome and delicious. I appreciate Laura on the breakfast area for always help us and prepare the delicious food for my family.

My stay was nice. Room was always well cleaned and housekeeping was just kind and friendly. Parking worked ok. Safe place to stay.

The bed was broken. They couldn't offer any solution. All rooms were apparently booked. I had to go buy a cot. I asked for a discounted price of the stay, was told no because i booked through hotels.com. i had to ask for additional towels everyday. We have a family of 4, they have us 2towels everyday for the 4 days we were there.

Kinda old

Unfortunately, this was a last minute stay for me so I didn’t do the proper research. The pictures are very deceiving. I was in town for a fitness certification course and just wanted a place to sleep and study…would have been better off staying in my car! Hotel is in a ghetto area, on busy street with cars driving by non stop. There was water on the lobby floor (a potential slip and fall) yet when telling the front desk/manager Rohit about it, he replied “oh one of guests must’ve walked out with something wet” instead of going to dry it up. Room had a lingering odor, comforter was dirty, coffee maker is in the bathroom (yuck) and had mold in it. My room 303, was directly next to where breakfast is served and at 6 am, with the bed headboard on the wall, I heard the entire prep and constant slamming, wheeling, and beeping. Then breakfast started at 7, so add loud talking from guests until breakfast was over. Not an ounce of sleep or peace at this hotel, and no studying done whatsoever! Rohit the manager is very rude and not helpful at all. To top everything off, the “refrigerator” froze my food that I bought for lunch the next day. Worst hotel of my life, DO NOT STAY HERE, $180 down the drain!

Our room had a pretty strong smell (must, mothballs, cleaning supplies somehow). We happened to be underneath the breakfast room so it was quite loud early in the AM. We knew this wasn’t the nicest option and everything else was adequate.

My criticism has nothing to do with the motel itself but with hotels.com. I specifically requested to stay in Burbank and the name of the hotel was best Western Burbank airport, but in reality it was located in North Hollywood. The neighborhood was very sketchy at best. The neighborhood was not walkable. There were very few food choices close by. The reason why hotels.com said that guest appreciated the covered garage was because if your car was outside, it would get stripped. The hotel itself was fine. It was clean and quiet with a good bed, but the neighborhood was just terrible. Not good for families. Pictures are very deceiving.

Reception Staff is Untrained or don't have complete information, I requested a Roll-Away Bed while booking via Expedia (i even called them twice for confirmation and availability of extra bed) after reaching there they told me it would be a fire hazard for this size of room, when i ask for an upgrade which was extra $70/day finally reception guy told me there is no such thing available. Facility is quit old as the carpet with very bad smell also they have limited parking spots mostly for compact size cars need to drop keys to counter if parked in double, there breakfast is good and healthy, server lady Laura was Nice & amazing serving fresh supplies

Our room smelled like urine. The manager suggested the room be sprayed with deodorizer and for us to keep our window open. My husband demanded we be moved since the smell was overwhelming. We were finally moved to another room. That sink in the restroom was clogged and after the water drained it was full of hair. Disgusting

Every thing was good but the scenery around the hotel not so good.

The room is enough for a family of 4. All carpets need to go and replace with hardwood or tiles flooring. They are old, ugly, and moldy. Shower is also bad. The longer you shower, the less water pressure you get. AC needs cleaning as well. You can see the dark thick dust on the vents.

Was the perfect place to lay our heads for the night with reasonable pricing. The continental breakfast was such a plus! The cafeteria staff, Laura, was awesome. She helped with everything we needed and was a pleasure to have. Very nice of her to go out of her way. All staff was helpful! Will be staying again.

There was a sewer pipe leaking overhead in the parking area. We stayed on the second floor. At 5:44am, we heard above us chairs and tables being drug across the floor. It didn’t just happen once but repeatedly...3-4 times within a few minutes. Then nothing for 5-10 minutes. Then it did it again. It continued to happen until just after 9am. We were very disappointed in our visit and will not be recommending nor returning here again.

Efficient and clean but not an inviting neighborhood at all.

This hotel was conveniently located for what we wanted to do. Parking is wonky, but doable. Half of the garage you have to park 2 cars deep and if you are the front car, you need to leave your keys with the front desk in case they need to move your car. I would go down first thing in the morning and move it myself which worked out for us. Fortunately I never parked in front of an early riser.

Need to vacuum carpets. Too dusty everywhere in the room like the lamps,headboards,tables and it triggered our allergies

Woken up in the middle of the night by the front desk to move our car. Unsure why this couldn’t have been dealt with at check in when staff checked our license plate. Dingy room, people being arrested outside the hotel upon arrival.

2 hours before my check-out time, the floor staff started coming to the door constantly and disturbing me. While I was getting ready to check out, the floor staff lady entered my room while I was inside, even though she had no authority to do so. Later, she claimed that she did not do this and made unpleasant comments. I definitely do not think I will stay here again.

Housekeeping and breakfast staff kind, did a good job. Free parking also. Location was a little far from where we wanted to be but all in all a good stay.

I didn’t spend much time at the property, other than to sleep, as I was in town for a wedding. The property itself was fine but coming back late at night every night, I didn’t feel the safest as a solo female traveler. They had parking on site, which was a relief but was still on high alert when walking from my car to the lobby.

The property and staff were nice. The location was not super, with lots of loud yelling on the streets. There was even a car accident with someone drunk driving that we saw out our room window. These are things the hotel can't do anything about, though, and we never felt unsafe at the hotel.

Love the lobby and the rooms, inside of the building and rooms feel a lot safer than every other inn/motel we’ve stayed at over the years. Definitely will be coming back! Nice set up and seems very clean.

Ever since I began booking this Hotel, it was simple to book, I called to make sure we were able to check-in at a later time than 3pm and they were flexible. When we checked in, they were already expecting us, and they were welcoming and quick to give us our room key. During our stay, the hotel staff were friendly and made sure we had everything we needed (extra towels) the menu to place food orders, etc. During check-out, they were also ready to check us out. Overall, I would recommend a stay here. It was quiet throughout our stay. It was a staycation and we will book here soon again!
