Dead cockroaches outnumbered me. If I saw them, you would think the person cleaning the room would have as well. I discovered bedbugs, and the streets are loud, even at night. There is no lobby if you get there early to wait in before checking in. It is a very distressed area with lots of homeless/street people, but they don't bother you or panhandle. I had photos, but it would not download them.....maybe that's by design; said file not supported. I took pictures with my phone with .jpg format. Well needless to say, I did not sleep well and was exhausted by morning. Look to stay somewhere else if you can.

Check in was quick and easy. Parking was good. Area quiet. Room itself is the most basic and what you would expect for an inexpensive motel room.

Well. I like this hotel and been a guest here since 1996. But, I haven't been to the Big A since around 2002. I needed a place that didn't need a major credit card to check in. I stayed just to go to the Angels game. I checked in, paid the cash deposit and showered and went to the game. I came right back because I forgot something. Omw back to the room someone came running and yelling in a mad way, I explained I am a guest and just left something. In the morning I crap and go the paper and there is literally two squares. I called and asked if they could bring me any they said no. I asked if I can check out a couple of minutes late they said no. But I left my Torah accidentally and came back two hours later and they gave it back to me.

It was a nice room, the only thing I didn't agree with was the $75 charge to switch from a king size bed to 2 Queen size beds. They also need to put more than 2 towels and 2 washcloths in the room. They should also provide hand towels. Had to use wash cloth to dry hands after washing. I think they need to put a little shelf in the shower to put your soap, shampoo on. Had to set it on the shower floor. I felt the owners were friendly. I'd stay there again . I'd recommend it to family and friends. Convenient location. All in all a good clean place to stay.

Staff was great to work with my disabilities however the floor was dirty and my partner and I struggled to sleep due to loud noises in and around the property.

The housekeeper looked dirty and sat on the stairs for hours smoking outside my room. The staff is unfriendly and charged me $84 to check in 4 hours early. The nightly rate was $88 😡.

Pillow sheets had blood stains , furniture outdated , bathroom tub super nasty & there was birds flying on the top floor over your head when you walk by.

We had to book in a pinch. The room was cleaned but felt dirty because of the old amd worn furniture. My daughter cried because it was “scary”. No way any of us would shower in that shower!

Last minute stay in the Santa Ana area, and we chose this place. Room was ok but the bed was hard and there wasn’t enough towels. No bath tub stopper either.

This property is not up to par. It’s upper hot in the rooms and ac barely worked and even switched rooms. Had to just check out 3 hours after I got there because the room was unbearable.

The guy at the desk wasn’t very friendly and my room was gross! Omg, I’ve never been in a room that felt this dirty and uncomfortable. The bedding was thin and I decided to sleep in my clothes to stay warm and protect myself from whatever may be on the sheets. The chairs in my room had stains and holes. The walls were dirty and the shower was so bad I decided to skip it. Would NOT recommend.

The location is excellent as my son is attending Chapman University and the Big A Motel is really convenient. It is a great value! Very clean, excellent staff!

Considering the area, I felt very safe during my stay. The only con I have of my stay was that the room was well kept but it did not feel “clean”. The furniture was dusty, there was a used soap bar in the shower, and the pillows were extremely yellow as if they were stained I brought my own blankets and pillow so I slept on top of those. There was also a distinct smell, like dirty sheets and dust. Other than that the service was excellent.

Stayed here for one night being close to Honda Centre for a hockey game. Check-in was professional & lady at the check-in window arranged for our rooms to be close to each other. Older style motel with free parking. Room was basic & clean. Very spacious with a king bed , timber floors, table & chairs, microwave, fridge & ac. It's not fancy & I found it comfortable & room was reasonably priced. There are dining options nearby. Honda Centre is walkable , about 3 miles. Big A Motel suited our purpose fine.

The staff was nice enough but the pictures of the property are misleading. Looking out the second floor room you can see the dumpster piled high with garbage as well as the surrounding area, the room seemed to be missing furniture and looked a bit empty. Walls were stained as were sheets, so not sure if the linen had been changed. The area itself was decent and there was plenty of stuff within walking distance and a 7-eleven just next door. I wish the shower had hot water but at least it wasn’t freezing cold. Not sure id recommend this place because the bed was uncomfortable and there was no box spring and I did not look at the checkout time which is usually 11am at most places but this place was 1030am.

The bed had old style springs that squeaked every time my wife or I turned in the bed. The bed spread was dirty and the cloth style overstuffed chair in the room was filthy! The bathroom was old and it took me 5 minutes to figure old the cold was hot and hot was cold!

So bummed about this. We basically checked in got ready, went to our event and didn’t even stay the night. The hotel was dirty and cold. There was only a sheet and the thin little blanket cover in the bed. No blankets! It was cold and dirty. Waste of money

Nice spot to stay in if you just need Quiet place to sleep. Staff was very friendly, and we appreciated that there were no surprise charges or fees when checking in. Room was overall clean and average. Good space, working mini fridge and microwave. Bathroom was still visibly a little dirty like hairs from previous stayers around and the shower is a bit small. Room smelled kinda old and weird, and the beds left us a little stiff and sore but you get your moneys worth. And if on a budget, we would stay there again

The motel was okay. The first room we had been given we couldn't open because the keys didn't work. I had to go down to the office multiple times to tell the guy that key didn't work. Then he came up with a different key that didn't work either, only his master key worked. He let us into the room and he went down to get a key that worked but we got into the room and the tv didn't work at all. So he changed our room to a down stairs one which the key worked to but the tv only had the news chanel. The remote didn't work to change the channels. Over all the room was okay but we wont be staying there again.

The customer service is excellent!!! They really helped to have a good stay, the only issue I could find that was a definite issue is the beds are way to noisy me and my gf couldn't even adjust ourselves without waking each other up other than the bed being very noisy to the touch the hotel is in a good location near the Angels Stadium and would definitely recommend for a good cheap stay.

Staff here is amazing and very welcoming, however this place could use a upgrade. Everything in our room was clean, it could use some more lighting in the rooms, and my tub had a little bit of mold. This was the GROSSEST hotel/motel I have EVER stayed in!! There was hair everywhere, it smelled, the door did not seal and you could see outside light shining thru. Not enough space to tell you how gross and uncomfortable this hotel was. NOT AT ALL LIKE THE PICTURES!!

The stay was selected out of need, and last minute, ending a long day at a nearby family attraction. Had there been more time I would not have selected this hotel for me and my niece. The room was bare and basic, uncomfortable beds, with thin sheets and pillows. No amenities included. We were awaken several times by the room above ours (running water noice, moving furniture or other, and loud, squeaking mattress)- clearly unquestionable neighbors doing whatever business through the night. It is not a place for family. There is no security, and the costumer service is bare minimum. I will not consider staying here again.

This was a “bare bones” motel with absolutely zero amenities— not even a blanket, paper cups, or a chair to sit in. Not stocked well, not in good repair, located in a sketchy part of town, and just generally uncomfortable. The housekeepers, however, were very kind and friendly. I appreciated their optimism and willingness to haul a HUGE heavy heater up flights of stairs when the heater in the room next to ours (family traveling with us) didn’t work. This motel was a dive but it made it easy to leave in the mornings and at least the workers were nice.

I needed a quick, simple place to stay for an overnight trip. This was indeed that...the lodging left something to be desired though. The room smelled like Pine Sol (or whatever cleaner they used) for most of my stay. The bathroom was bare bones as well, and didn't feel all that clean. The bed was as hard as a rock, and very squeaky as well, did not get a good night's sleep at all! Overall I would not recommend this location, and I am certain that I could have found a nicer place for the same price.

Staff was extremely nice and room was ok.The beds are old and uncomfortable and have little tvs for a lrge room.There was no sitting area, coffee maker, or coathangers.It was very noisey early in a.m. around 4-5.I thought the room would be a little better for the price and to me this would only be a 60 to 80 dollar room not double that.

This is just a place to crash. They don't require anything to get a room just pay and be on your way, that's a plus side. It's very quiet. However the rooms definitely are not the pictures and I definitely didn't want to shower there. Bed was clean. Air worked. Fridge worked.

Not bad not great, a little on the dirtier side but just the floors and bathroom really. Left over wrappers from the stay before us. Mattress was larger than the frame it was sitting on so we’d accidentally tip the whole mattress when we sat on the edge. Last minute grab at a motel so given the time and price, it wasn’t bad.

Definitely wouldn’t stay here to relax on vacation the beds are super hard and noisy almost feels like a jail bed or something. Bedding has stains and is out dated I wouldn’t get in the bed under the blankets. The room has two plastic department store hangers so ghetto. The motel Definitely needs a upgrade. But does it’s job if your stays only a few hours. Shower had hair in it. Neighbors were slamming there door all night.

Use of NIGHT WINDOWS at 6:30 PM. DIRECTED by the NIGHT CLERIC that the parking spot i i was using near my LEASED UNIT, specially unmarked, was RESERVED and as a CLEINT I was directed to relocate to a different open parking spot. A very very basic unit.

The bedspread had blood stains. Moved to another room and those ones were dirty.

The room was a good size. The floor was super dirty. I don’t think the floor has been mopped in a long time. I choose motels/ hotels with no carpet due to them being super dirty. Our bathroom door wouldn’t shut. The safety rail in the tub kept falling. Other than that the stay was doable.

I had to take my own cleaning supplies to clean the whole room and bathroom. Towels and sheets smelled dirty. Seriously got me so upset that I had to clean the whole place to feel a little better staying there

If the picture was a 10, the actual room was a "ONE"! The comforter was atrocious! We had a Black shower curtain. Yikes!!! Not a second roll of toilet tissue and the one on the tube was almost out! No pictures on the dark colored walls (on the site, the walls were light-colored), no clock, no table lamps! It was no where near worth the $90 we paid for the stay! Not even an ice machine --- REALLY!? As hot as California gets and you can't invest in a stinking ice machine! The only good thing about the room was the flooring! Nice clean and fake wood. The rest of the room and bath was abysmal! The housekeeping lady was very helpful and was the only other best thing about our stay! But unfortunately, we will NEVER be back, and Expedia needs to hold these properties accountable to what they are advertising on their site! Because this was just unacceptable and the photos of what they are presenting was just totally deceiving!

Could be a bit cleaner. Floor of room should be mopped between guests. I got dirty feet and socks from walking around room. Also, plumbing should be checked... Our sink mysteriously filled from below overnight leaving dirty water and pipe scum in sink.

It was the cheapest in the neighborhood. This was only an overnight trip. No refrigerator. Room smelled like curry. AC worked on and off. The top mattress was longer than the box spring so sitting on the edge of the bed you might slip onto the floor. Even though I didnt request an Accessible room, they gave me one. Someone slipping on the bed like that is not good. You get you pay for but I wouldn't stay here more than one night. Well, I don't think I'll come back. There are other cheap motels in the area.

The tiles on the bathroom sink were broken, remote for the tv did not work, tables were wobbly, toilet was uneven, every time I went to use the restroom and got up the tank would hit the wall, water was no clear, looked like there were dead ants in the bathtub and on one of the tables, comforter was badly stained, I feared there may have been bed bugs, the hotel room door latches but did not seem reliable, wall plug sockets were either loose or coming out of the wall, bathtub rim was stained, one light switch did not do anything, no tissue boxes, looked like there was some substances that was dripping down the wall and they had not bothered to clean the wall.

I booked a room on the 21st. - 22nd of August In room 111 I wasn't really satisfied the fan whole night was blowing like in fan mode But was on AC. I talked to the clerk about changing rooms, said she didn't have any extra non smokingrooms. I should get another room for free cuz my money was wasted on a room that wasn't

I got a rash from the bed, it was hot since summer is here and the AC was not working WHATSOEVER. I had to check out because I couldn’t even spend the night there.

Terrible place. Immediate bad impression with chairs being stained and no toilet paper. Sprayed lysol and tried to make the best of it. Realized that there was no batteries in the remote and that the fire detector was low on batteries or something because it would beep loudly every 2 minutes. Once we got batteries for the remote, realized the tv itself wasnt even installed or connected. Tried to fix it myself but couldnt. No form of entertainment. The wifi doesnt work. Went to go tell the front desk of all the situations since the room wasnt as advertised. He said he couldnt do anything since his boss wasnt here and we had to wait 30 min. 4 hours later, no one came. Went to go tell him again since the beeping wasnt going to allow me to sleep. Or if he could give me a different room. Didnt help. Said he cant do anything without a boss. He didnt even try to help, was dry and didnt give options. Slept horribly that night and realized they didnt care, i booked a two night stay but there was no way i was gonna stay another night so i left. Wasnt worth it. Id rather lose money. Went to tell a new guy at the front desk of the situation to prevent a bad experience for future guests. He wasnt there, he was exercising, jogging around the parkinglot. Once we met up with him, he had zero interest in what was said. Not worth it. Cheap. Non refundable for a reason. Spending a couple more dollars for a better hotel.

Got there service was bad the front desk person looked like he was asleep. Got my room key. Walked all the way up room wasnt ready just a bad experience.

Their ice machine was just a small “box” of ice which meant you had to grab a handful of ice with your hand (not very healthy or safe in my opinion).
