Reviews
The hotel reviews are mixed, with guests appreciating the cleanliness, quietness, and proximity to local attractions. However, there are consistent complaints about outdated facilities, inconsistent customer service, and issues with room amenities.

Somebody open the room door in the midle of night. The shower faucet was leaking all the time. This is the second time I stay there, the first time was not bad.

My family and I booked a two-night stay at this hotel in mid-May 2026. We checked in around 3:00 PM, and while the property was already disappointing in terms of cleanliness and overall condition, the worst was yet to come. By approximately 11:00 PM that night, both my children and I were being repeatedly bitten by bugs. I stripped the bedding and inspected the mattresses. What I found was absolutely unacceptable. The mattresses were filthy, and the room itself was in a condition that should never be offered to paying guests. I immediately went to the front desk and reported the issue. The guy at the front desk was awful. Although we were moved to a different room, the damage had already been done. We had planned to spend the next day enjoying activities in Orlando, but after a sleepless night of scratching and discomfort, we decided to cut our vacation short, pack our belongings, and leave a full day early. Once we returned home, I spent hundreds of dollars laundering clothing and other belongings out of fear of bringing bed bugs into our home. We’ve had to discard items that could not be safely cleaned or treated. What should have been a fun family vacation turned into a stressful and expensive nightmare. Between the unsanitary conditions, the bed bug infestation, the lost vacation time, and the additional expenses incurred afterward, this was one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had. I would strongly recommend choosing another hotel if you're visiting the Orlando area.

Was sleeping on the second night there. Woke up cause I felt something on my face. After turning on the light and looking over by the stand. I saw a roach walking around. Packed up my stuff and left at 12am

Old hotel and bad quality
- 2.5/5
Bed super comfortable Shame that after paying $100 for just a few hours there no complimentary breakfast Parking lot is not right in front or behind the hotel, no complimentary breakfast and the front desk dude change the dates of my stay
- 5/5
I didn’t like that the stores were too far
- 3/5
Only issue was there was lots of tiny ants in are room and halls had a bit of a weird smell other than that not bad hotel
- 3/5
The carpet was dirty and floor was wet. The TV didn't work and they replaced it with a smaller TV I have in my kitchen. The water coming out the faucet smelled it sewer water.
- 5/5
Very quiet - only one person as attendant
- 5/5
All the staff we interacted with were very friendly. Our room was nice and spacious with a beautiful view of the pool. The pool is big and has shallow areas where little ones could swim with supervision. Overall, our stay was great and we would definitely come again.
- 1/5
I liked the pool but that was it In our booking we picked this place because it stated it was pet friendly as well as sound proof rooms both of those are complete lies! My girlfriend has legal license emotional support dog and this place after being there for two days wanted to see the paperwork which didn't matter because he said that our emotional support animal wasn't good enough and told her that our doctor was wrong and we didn't have the right kind of paperwork and that her diagnosis didn't matter proceeded to Kick us out which ruined a whole day of our vacation due to having to pack up early, and go through the hassle of finding another place to stay after driving over a 1000 miles. So if you want a hassle and a lot of bs and lies then this is your place to stay oh and the rooms ARE NOT sound proof I could hear a woman's phone conversation 4 rooms down from ours!! Nothing but lies!! I would not recommend this place to anyone!!
- 4/5
I didn’t mind the stay at all. Was good for what we needed. There were definitely strained areas throughout my room that made the experience slightly unpleasant but the price was why we booked.
- 4/5
The only problem was the rooms aint got no microwave there one on first floor but its for everyone then you gotta walk my opinion be better if every room have microwaves
- 1/5
The room had mold and wet carpet I got moved to a new room and the towels smelled like vomit
- 2/5
The hotel is in very bad shape. It is falling apart, everything in the room is stained, rusty, or missing pieces; even the hair dryer was half melted ( the plastic). The smell to extreme old property mixed with humidity and old carpets are unpleasant. I'm not like to give bad reviews but in this case I have to, I don't understand where or when came some reviews that I read before make the reservation but is nothing like the picture. Even the pool was green. The only thing good was the staff...and the tv ( that works ok). The days of Glory the it should had have are way gone.
- 0.5/5
Not letting other people smoke in the hallway and their rooms were mine was located and getting accused of smoking in. The room when I and my kids do not smoke also other people a cross or few rooms down smoking pot. They didn’t care very rude people smelled up the hallway and probly threw everyone’s vents in their rooms.they charged me a fee of 250.00 extra saying I smoked in the room, funny thing never smoked my whole life and my kids. I kept arguing with them about it so I just gave up and didn’t matter they weren’t going to give me my money back. I have traveled all over the states and this was the worse place I ever stayed at and I travel at least six to seven times a year. Never again here , pictures looked great till we got there with no other available hotels to go elsewhere.. would not tell people to stay here
- 4/5
The building is old but is kept in excellent conditions. The rooms are big and very clean.
- 1/5
Arrived 20 minutes before check in and they wanted to charge me $50
- 2/5
We gave this hotel a try because the pictures made it look nice and clean. It was definitely not like the pictures, very deceiving. Unfortunately very outdated, not clean, and smelled like weed in the hall and in the room. We are frequent travelers and for the first time ever in my life I checked in and checked out less than 1hr later. Still waiting on an approval for refund.
- 2/5
It is a very old building with poor maintenance. The bathroom or rather the whole hotel had an odd smell. The towels were dirty. Cloth material for the bath curtain which was very unsanitary cause I don’t think those were ever cleaned. The toilet had no cover. There was mold inside it which I didn’t know until my toddler pointed it out. There were hairs on the chair like somebody had a haircut on it. The fridge was old and did not keep my drinks cold enough. The microwave was downstairs in the lobby where the ice machine is which was also very dirty like it was never used or maintained. The breakfast was ok and the staff was friendly. The pool outside was probably the only nice looking part of the hotel and my kids loved. It was a good pool for toddlers to play in if they don’t know how to swim they can play in the front of the pool where it’s shallow. There was also a hot tub.
- 1/5
The hotel looks rundown it smells. The rooms are not super clean. The staff was not helpful. The front desk offered a buffet for nine for $10 a day per person. It was just eggs, bacon, stale pancakes, hard waffles, coffee, orange juice that is it that was the buffet menu for the entire state. I could’ve gotten a doughnut for less than $10. You have to ask for an iron because my room didn’t have an iron at the front desk. The towels are for kid size. They only give you one per person super cheap quality towels. I didn’t even bother to go into the pool super super disgusted with the hotel. I could’ve done better. This is not a seven star eight star that Expedia had rated to me. It is a one star.
- 5/5
Clean room
- 1/5
Total dump. Dark, dingy and scary to walk around at night.
- 1/5
The property’s actual condition was significantly different from the photos provided in the listing, which I find misleading. This cost me $300 extra out of my budget to find a new hotel. During the check in I was not feeling safe there either. When I was doing check in, at midnight, the person in front desk was taking too long even to give me my id back and do the check in, and was speaking in another language with another male employee, which I found it very disrespectful because both speak English and I was by myself; this situation make me feel uncomfortable. The carpet I’m and lobby and in the room had the carpet stained and dirty same as the towels in the bathroom. The room was also smelly as well as the hotel. I did check out a couple on min after and the hotel did not wanted to refund at least one night. I am disappointed with the hotel's decision to decline the refund. Do not recommend it.
- 2/5
This property shows very well on line however it is old and dirty.
- 1/5
Not a good place to stay not clean and lights didn’t work in the room and we had a family member pass away so we couldn’t make our first night and despite the situation they refused to modify our booking.
- 4/5
Everything is old and dirty even in the Lobby. Room carpet smells bad carpet is like 1000 years old and dirty. Beds are awful. Refrigerator doesn't get cold. Furniture in room is old and dirty
- 3/5
Rooms are dated, staff interaction professional
- 4/5
Great place great price
- 2/5
It is well-located, but it suffers from a lack of maintenance and service; at the very least, they should have provided water in the room
- 2/5
The pictures were misleading.

Weve stayed here before and had a wonderful experience 4+ day stay. This last time was a 1 night trip. Carts that were available are broken (wheels popped) rendering them inoperable unless your planning on hurting yourself. The morning of check out we asked for late check out and were told we could stay til 12 free. At 10:45 am my husband took our stuff to the car leaving my daughter and I alone. I had just gotten out of the shower and was completely nude when my room door suddenly opens no knock no "housekeeping" alert the worker just let themselfs in and then ran out of the room realizing we were still in there. I have no idea if this was a woman or man employee. When calling the front desk the only thing offered was check out for 3pm free. At that point I didnt feel safe anymore and just wanted to leave. No refund no apology no call or email from the manager like we were told we would recieve just told that "Gladys may have gotten the rooms confused". Which I can totally understand if someone had atleast knocked or made themselves known before entering my room. We were planning on making this our go to hotel since its so quiet but after this experience I would recommend staying far away.

The price doesn’t match the facilities. The facilities should be better
- 3/5
Hotel did have a lot of deferred maintenance nothing on property to really do does have a pool. Towels unavailable at pool.
- 4/5
Good
- 5/5
Nclean room , Good staff and shops nearby
- 1/5
The hotel smelled bad and things were broken and dirty
- 4/5
Pool and hot tub were fine and only a few people used them. Cleaning staff were very accomodating and the locatiin was close to Seaworld, Epic Universe, Duacovery Cove. However, security is an issue because you park behind the building in a secluded lot and anyone can enter the building and pool area without a keycard. Front desk staff stand behind a glass divider and parking pass has a warning about leaving things in your car and theres no security presence. Hotel's a large building with very few people.
- 3/5
Hotel does look run down, and needs updating. Bedroom had stains all over the carpet. Bathroom needed a good clean. Red ants all over the floor near pool area. Bottom of the pool was very dirty also
- 5/5
Everything was great N/A
- 3/5
Great pool and hot tub. Bed was broken and sunk in the middle. There was only one microwave for the whole building to share in a common area. This place seem outdated.
- 5/5
Quiet and very clean the hot tub was amazing the beds were so comfortable Older but still very clean and the pool closed so early
- 5/5
Hot tub and pool were great. The rooms need an update specially the beds and the floors.
- 3.5/5
Pool was great for toddler to play in. Super close to Seaworld and traffic was never bad even for the weekend. Hotel vs motel, felt safe and enclosed. The room size was great! Very spacious for me and a toddler. Although the rooms were spacious, the room was outdated with carpet and no USB ports for charging. The place has potential but for the price it is worth a 2-3 night stay!
- 1/5
The room seemed although they have not deep cleaned, or even just throughly cleaned the rooms. I had to immediately call down upon checking it because my bathroom was gross and appeared uncleaned. Instead of assigning me to a new room, they had housekeeping come clean the toilet immediately. The carpets were gross, and risen from the floor. The furniture (end tables, desk etc) were visibly not wiped down properly (or at all). The fridge did not work- it was running loudly & not cold at all. Unfortunately I didn’t have the option to wait for a refund (10 business days) and go book another hotel. I was very disappointed and grossed out. I even teared up at the situation I felt stuck in. They also seemed short staff. This gave motel vibes when in the room. The pool however was beautiful and was the only positive thing. I cannot believe they run the hotel this way.
- 5/5
I have stayed here every year for 8 years in a row. I have never felt more at home outside of my own home than at Monumental. The staff have always been extremely accommodating and friendly. Rooms and property in general have always been clean (gives old florida vibes which I love) and the pool area is always beautiful and ready to enjoy. Quiet, Relaxing, Family friendly with spacious rooms and just an overall amazing experience.
- 3/5
Overall okay stay. The towels are very small so I would bring your own. Everything was pretty old. Felt like nothing has been updated since the 90s but the pool and the hot tub were pretty good.
- 3/5
There was plenty things do once you left the hotel and it was one bus ride from everything.
- 3/5
It was ok. Beds were hard as a rock, very outdated hotel. Would not stay again
- 3/5
1 staff member at the desk and the rest of the place looked like a ghost town. A ton of old furniture and run down facilities. Ok, if you sre just there to sleep, but for the price, I was expecting something a bit nicer.
- 3.5/5
Really wish they had breakfast or offered something for lunch. They definitely have a kitchen but it seems closed.
- 4/5
Good Location
- 2/5
Pretty outdated. Can tell stuff is done very minimally. Towels and sheets had stains on them. The hot tub also stained my swim suit. Unfortunately won’t be staying again.
- 5/5
Everything was very exceptional great
- 4/5
A bit old and musty. The bathtub in particular was a bit rusted and worn, but worked fine.
- 5/5
Great pool and hot tub , staff very friendly and the space of this hotel is humongous, and with it’s location on international drive plenty of food and places to go 👍
- 4/5
Lady checking us in was very rude, acted like it was an inconvenience to do her job.
- 3/5
Great location. Friendly staff. Huge room. Unbeateable rates. Free parking. I've stayed in this hotel many times because of the great location and rates. 1. But, it would be fantastic if the carpet in the halls and rooms could be steam cleaned or something to get rid of a mixture of dust and the strong pungent smell of whatever cleaning fluid they use to attempt to mask the old carpet smell. It always makes my eyes water and my nose itch. It takes me a couple of hours to get used to it. 2. The mattresses are saggy and uncomfortable. If they could have better ones, with a set of more comfortable pillows too, that would bring up my ratings quite a bit. 3. The ACs are very noisy and the temperature is unpredictable. I usually turn them off in the middle of the night, so I can get some sleep. A good night's sleep is all I need when I'm there, so if they could improve these items, it would make the experience much better.
- 2/5
The booking online and check in/out was easy . The rooms were very outdated, pillows were paper thin, no fan in the bathroom so it was wet and humid, the toilet wasn't able to flush appropriately I had to fix myself, the rugs felt dirty on your feet, the pool towels were thin and all stained, it felt dead in the hotel hallways, the ice machine was leaking water whenever you went to get ice, the room felt dusty and old.
- 2.5/5
Pool area. Lack of attentive cleaning. Pool area had hard little balls from the tree all over the place making walking not fun. Ants everywhere on the pool area. Got bit several times. Haven’t cleaned the elevators in what looks like years. They are doing the least to keep the doors open.
- 2/5
Not the best
- 2/5
It was in a quiet location. The bed was broken. The pillows were beyond flat. My husband asked for an extra blanket and never received it. Part of the hot tub was broken.
- 3/5
This is a lovely ole days Floridian hotel. Unfortunately no one loves it anymore. The room was fine but the windows locks are broken and windows don’t open. The sitting area w tables is closed. The bar is closed. The only amenity the pool was dirty. They aren’t even cleaning the pool now. Beautiful worn out hotel
- 1/5
Gross
- 2/5
This hotel looks haunted lol. And feels a bit haunted. Honestly, I was a bit weirded out by the fact there were very few guests, outside lighting, the parking lot was almost deserted the pool cabanas are just skeletons of cabanas. This place looks like I may or may not disappear at any moment. Yikes
- 4.5/5
The bed was awful
- 2.5/5
Bed was comfortable & room/linens were clean. The staff was friendly and accommodating. I was just disappointed that the pool and hot tub didn’t seem to be cleaned thoroughly and the restaurant is closed permanently. We actually got a resort pass to Hilton to swim and enjoy the sun because we don’t feel confident about swimming here. It was definitely more affordable that many other resorts and allowed us to stay an extra week but was really hoping to have food available during our stay.
- 5/5
Loved how the staff was very friendly went above and beyond for us,the rooms were spacious, close to parks and entertainment, and it was private feeling loved it.
- 3/5
The building has potential to be great. Some updates to the rooms would be very helpful. Our towels, sheets, and pillow cases had stains most of the time. Not the most clean but got us by. We also got in the hot tub and it bleached my swim suit. Unfortunately, wouldn’t stay again.
- 5/5
Stuff was nice. Please was pretty clean would definitely recommend
- 5/5
Great pool and hot tub! Very spacious and staff was amazing! No breakfast or even complimentary coffee
- 1/5
Hotel was nasty, carpet nasty, tub not clean, hair in the sink and tub! Hotel smells like mold.
- 5/5
I love the friendly staff at the front desk I love how quiet and relax it is and definitely the pool I will be stayin here again soon
- 1/5
Bad services
- 5/5
Enjoyed my stay my son loved the pool it’s not heated but they do have a hot tub as well. Location was great.
- 3/5
I arrived whitout pets. Pool area and the pool was very good.
- 3/5
Room was clean. Staff were friendly and welcoming. The pool and hot tub area is well kept. The only thing I wish they had is a breakfast option in the mornings.
- 4/5
Everything was great except for the room air conditioning. It was really noisy and had a smell like gas or some mechanic oils.
- 3/5
The room was ok. However, the pool was extremely unkempt. Hotel is pretty far from activities so an uber is extremely necessary if you don’t have a rental car. Staff are friendly so that’s a plus.
- 3/5
The room was not clean. The blankets had stains, and hair. The towels had stains. Very outdated, and old. nothing is replaced or new. Bathroom floor was very sticky.
- 4/5
Nice stay
- 2/5
They advertised having a complementary breakfast and a bar/resteraunt and have neither. The room and pool/spa were great but disappointed they didn’t have the amenities they were suppose to.
- 4/5
The vending machine and food options need to be better for me to stay again however that is on ownership, not the local staff.
- 4/5
The room was nicely renovated.
- 2/5
Ridiculous walk to check in and then again from the parking lot. Looks like the 90s are frozen for them accept for the pool. Room had several unclean issues that staff said "sorry about that" and got back on a phone call. Bed uncomfortable roll to the middle. All the smoking goes on right outside the back door which is most of the places in and out. Spend a couple dollars more and stay somewhere else.
- 1/5
Everything is extremely dated. Anywhere in the bathroom that was once chrome is now rusted. The rooms, hallways and elevator smell of mildew. The elevator was filthy. I’m embarrassed and disappointed in myself that I even stayed. They had no food to offer thank god. Whoever owns this hotel should feel embarrassed.
- 5/5
Comfy beds
- 1/5
Everything was good till it got cold, the room didn't have no heating at all it was freezing cold
- 3/5
Room was very outdated. Certain aspects of cleanliness weren’t meet.
- 3/5
strong smell in the rooms, phones are not working in rooms
- 3/5
the room was outdated. could have used at least a paint job. You can tell that at one point, this was a very nice hotel, it is just in need of a good scrub with updates. staff was super friendly.
- 3/5
Honestly for the price its understandable, not too bad a place but not amazing either.
- 1/5
0/5 stars . Wouldn’t recommend to my worst enemy .
- 2/5
Staff was nice. Lobby is in a weird place, very long walk, hotel is very dated, ants everywhere. Beds are motel beds.
- 1/5
The hotel seems to have been stuck in the past. The rooms look like they were from 2004, the carpets are disgusting, the place stinks, the furniture is in terrible condition, there is no cleaning service for the room, the facilities are poorly maintained. In short, don't stay there.
- 2/5
The rooms were very dirty, blood on sheets.
- 1/5
Front desk Spanish lady has a terrible attitude. Rooms look ancient. Towels cheap, pillows as flat as paper, bathroom shower curtain dirty and stained, and the mattress so thin you can feel the springs. Terrible with so may option in the same area I would not recommend.
- 2/5
Outdated and old. Looks decent from the outside but thats about it.
- 1/5
The place was outdated, the rooms were still from the 1960’s. Dirty rugs and curtains. The bathroom floor was sticky. Outdated decor, the bed was so old I felt all the springs in it. No breakfast at this resort. Was told to go down the road to ihop. Vending machine was horrible. The pictures are deceiving, do not stay here…. Waste of money!!! The smell in the whole place was masked with so much febreeze it takes your breath away!!! The bathrooms were old and rusty!!! Don’t waste a dime on this place… This is not a resort!!!
- 4/5
Good place
- 4/5
There was a drunk guy who did not know how to behalf around children and families. However, the hotel crew didn’t care. The guy was vaping and openly drinking. His kids were showing their private parts to other kids. This was not appropriate at all.
- 5/5
Super friendly staff. Clean rooms.
- 5/5
Wonderful and very relaxing. The jacuzzi was amazing. Very close to everything. A lot of restaurants nearby. I’d definitely stay there again.
- 3/5
The room was neatly clean and spacious but the beds were to low and unstable. It feels like sleeping in a water bed. The Front Desk were very polite and friendly.
- 5/5
I had a great stay at the Monumental Hotel. Bed was comfortable, room was cozy and the staff at the reception desk were very polite and helpful!!!
- 5/5
Buena atención y muy buena estancia
- 1/5
I was traveling with my 7-year-old daughter, and she literally had to cover her nose every time we walked through the hallway. This was especially disappointing because at check-in, the no-smoking policy was emphasized and enforced, which I appreciated. However, the third floor consistently smelled like cigarette smoke everyday of our stay. I do want to mention that the staff member we interacted with was great. The hotel room was clean but the condition of the floor made the stay uncomfortable and disappointing. Thank you for taking the time to review this feedback.
- 2/5
Advantages of this hotel include its close proximity to Universal Orlando, a safe and quiet environment, and competitive pricing. The pool area is also well-maintained. However, the website's promotional images do not accurately reflect the current condition of the rooms, which appear to be in need of updating. Furthermore, cleanliness was a significant concern, with dirty carpets, bathroom floors, and elevator floors observed, alongside a pervasive strong odor throughout the premises. The mattresses were also notably firm.
- 1/5
We were unable to stay at this hotel due to the state of the property. There was a heavy mildew smell. My husband went into the bathroom and all the urinals were taped up. The floor molding area had a dark ring around it where there had been overflow and the floors were clearly not cleaned well. The carpets in the lobby were heavily soiled and the smell of incense was intense (I assume to cover the smell of mold). I requested a refund from the property due to the fact that I have asthma and was unable to stay in a moldy environment. They declined to do this even given the situation. There were only 4 cars in the parking lot- which should say something. We booked online unknowingly. They say it is a 3 star hotel. I have stayed in Laquinta's that are more sanitary. DO NOT STAY HERE. The pictures on the website are not what you will walk into.
- 3/5
For a large hotel it could use more of its resources to make the amenities better. It’s good just to sleep in but not much to do there.
- 5/5
nice quiet and close to everything. will stay again!
- 3/5
Charge for the Wi-Fi and didn’t know till we got there.
- 1/5
Upon arrival to property there was a very unpleasant odour, smelled damp and musty felt like walking into a funeral parlour! There were towels in areas on the floor I assume due to water leaks.. fans/ dehumidifier’s blowing… when checked in the elevator to our room was dirty and had build up in the corners! The unpleasant odour carried through the building and to the rooms… rooms felt dirty and musty, obstructed views from the windows looked like garbage and debris below… we had two rooms booked and one of the rooms my sons feet were sticking to the bathroom floor!Gross!! Service was terrible as when we voiced our concerns/complaints we were only given an “I’m sorry”… we felt this was an unsafe place to stay for our health… we felt itchy and dirty leaving after only being in the building 20 mins at max. When inquiring about a refund we were told to go through Expedia which was how we placed our booking and they could receive a waiver for us for refund. We did the same only to be told that our booking was non refundable! Totally unacceptable from a facility you voice concerns about only to be told there’s nothing they can do for you and you are left to find new accommodation plus the extra expenses associated with the same!It is now past supper hour getting dark we are already out money for a 3 night stay and uber cost of $75 just to have to book a new accommodation and extra cost of that and transportation!Horrendous gut wrenching experience. Disgusted and disappointed !!

The hotel looked ran down, we were so disappointed. It was a smell once we walked in the hotel hallways it made my stomach upset
- 4/5
We had a great stay. The room was clean, as well as the hotel. Staff was friend and helpful. The amenities were limited, no breakfast or bar at the hotel. The reception is located at the front on the building and not as the drop-off entry door.
- 2/5
They charge $6.75 for the parking and no one is there watching
- 3/5
The only staff that I see was the counter clerk and he was very gentle.
- 1/5
Please avoid this place if you can, smells like mold, everything is old and stained. The carpet in the rooms have mold, the sheets are stained and the smell of the hotel almost made me leave. I was only there for one night.
- 3/5
The tub faucet was continuously leaking.
- 1/5
Dirty, very old carpets and furniture. Probably has been there since the hotel was built!!
- 1/5
Smelly room, towels stink like athletes foot, wouldn’t recommend, booked the hotel for 3 days, couldn’t stay more than a day, they didn’t even consider giving a refund
- 4/5
This place needs some serious updating. The hot water in the room was great but shower and spout all leaked so pressure was horrible. Tv doesn't have options for streaming, so you can watch infomercials for hours if you can get the remote to work. Pool was nice though
- 1/5
I booked two nights and only stayed one night. There was a horrible smell on the third fooor I was staying on. The room was dirty. I took photos. The hotel was run down and old and dirty. I hardly slept. I left the hotel at 6.00am the next day. I contacted my credit card company and requested a refund for the night I did not stay.
- 5/5
Great location and great price point. The hotel is somewhat run down but the pool and hottub are great.

Very unfriendly staff, not a comfortable environment in the facility. Toilet leaked onto bathrfloor. We were told they would adjust our bill for it but at check out they refused.

The floors and rugs throughout the property appear tho not have been cleaned in 10 years. Very uncomfortable vibe to the whole place.
- 2/5
Very old and everything broken and tv not working

It is really outdated. There is an overwhelming smell when you first enter the hotel like dirty carpets. The ac in our room leaked so much the carpet was almost entirely wet. The towels and washcloths that were provided were really dirty. It wasn’t worth the price at all. The only thing good was the location and the bed because the bed was pretty comfortable.
- 1/5
The carpet smelled bad. The room was old. The air conditioner and sensor were noisy. The bed was not comfortable at all. The room was not cheap. They only allowed check-in at 3 p.m. and had to pay 28 yuan in advance. It was a really unpleasant experience.
- 3/5
The hotel room was not clean, and the bathroom looked like it hadn’t been cleaned at all. The bathroom was especially dirty and very disappointing. I expected better cleanliness and maintenance from this hotel.
- 3/5
Overall my stay was quiet, relaxing and I felt safe for the most part. I would say the front desk is in an inconvenient area, there should be umbrellas in rooms since it is a rainy state ( especially for a $100 incidental hold ) and maybe security after hours.
- 5/5
Muy bueno par su precio
- 4/5
The first room we checked into was dirty. Towels in the sink and smelled so musty. Staff was great, switched us to a new room immediately. The pool is absolutely gorgeous. We love laying in the sun every day and there was hardly anyone there so it was quiet and peaceful. I will add property is old and outdated, doesn’t seem like current owners are putting any extra money into it for sure.
- 5/5
The room was clean and spacious. Pool and patio was in great condition.
- 5/5
Parking lot leaves alot to be desired but everything else was great
- 5/5
The only thing I don’t like Ethel property is that
- 3/5
The receptionist was asleep
- 4/5
We went in the off season so there wasn’t many people but it was quiet no yelling of course weed smell but now a day no one can control that but I enjoyed it
- 1/5
Housekeeping did an atrocious job. Yesterday my makeup was left in disarray, as well as my hair products. When we returned to the room last night, I discovered my hair oil had been turned on its side as well as opened, leaving a puddle of oil on the counter. Personal belongings were moved to different locations, as well. For example, different makeup products were moved to the opposite side of the sink. All of my makeup was left in the pouch I packed it in once I was done getting ready, so I'm not sure why it needed to be moved in the first place. The hallways and lobby area smell of mildew. I now have rashes on both arms and one leg after staying here.
- 5/5
Minus a few things that could be fixed around the facility, we enjoyed our stay as we always do. Staff was great.
- 5/5
This is a beautiful hidden gem in Orlando. The property is a bit age and it shows in some of the areas but the rooms are fantastic and the staff is very polite and helpful.
- 5/5
Hot when j walked in but guess they had the doors opened and I’m not use to the weather out here .. other than it was a beautiful stay hot water in the hot tub the jets work and everything went so smoothly I’d say it was a great deal.
- 3/5
No room service for 3 days.
- 1/5
A/C not working properly was hot carpet sticky and smell bad elevators nasty hallways hot and smells bad definitely don’t recommend they need to update and clean
- 5/5
Relaxing! Will definitely go back. The pool was so nice
- 1/5
Did not like the condition of my room to look & smell of it. Lasted 4 minutes in the room & decided it wasn’t for me & left requested a refund & am still currently waiting for a refund.
- 3/5
The hallways are hot and room too. AC not work very well. Bed was very uncomfortable. The internet is very weak. Is good just for the location and price.
- 4/5
Better clean the pool
- 2/5
The whole property looks absolutely abandoned. I can’t believe this place was still in business. I arrived a bit on the early side around 1:30 PM and asked if I could check in early and was told no. There was absolutely no way there was not one room available at that time. From the amount of cars in the parking lot, I’m gonna estimate there is maybe 10 guests in the entire hotel. The whole Property is in desperate need of some upkeep and landscaping. One morning my wife and I were leaving to go grab some breakfast and there was a homeless guy sleeping on the floor right outside the elevator. I have pictures to prove this. Not a very safe property at all, and it feels very spooky because it feels abandoned.
- 3/5
This place is a little run down.
- 2/5
The pictures and descriptions are clearly not up to date. It's an old hotel with little to no maintenance, old furniture, broken AC units. Almost looks vacant or abandoned. Never again staying there.
- 5/5
I absolutely love this place.! We have stayed here both times we have been in Orlando.!!
- 3/5
The respect was very run down. Quiet and safe but extremely run down, compared to photos they posted.
- 5/5
Beautiful quiet space nice to get away from the business touristy city
- 1/5
American Horror Story-esque. Drugs on site, filthy, bed bugs.Air conditioning did not work in 100° weather. Did not stay once we saw the conditions. The front desk girl had to be woken just to try to get help. Terrible service all around. Do NOT RISK YOUR SAFETY OR HEALTH.
- 1/5
⭐ 1/5 (Would give 0 if I could) This was by far the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had — and I didn’t even stay the night. From the moment we walked in, we were hit with an overwhelming stench of mildew and something foul. The entire building was hot, humid, and smelled like it hadn’t been cleaned in years. There was no air conditioning in the hallways or in our room, which only made everything worse. The room was filthy — mold on the walls and ceiling, bugs crawling around, and layers of dirt in every corner. It was absolutely disgusting and felt unsafe to stay in. When we went to the front desk for help, we literally had to wake someone up. Once we got their attention, they were rude, unhelpful, and made no effort to address any of the issues. When we told them we wouldn’t be staying and requested a refund, they refused to take any responsibility and told us to contact the third party we booked through — even though the condition of the hotel was completely unacceptable. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place at all costs. It’s not just unpleasant — it’s a health hazard. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone.
- 1/5
The hotel was beautiful on the exterior but once you get to the room is different the first night the pool had green floors and the hot tub was not working. The second night the headboard fell on my head from the wall, the bed fell apart. The hallways were really hot no ac. We had to check out early.
- 4/5
Nice place
- 5/5
Staff was very friendly. Helped us in the middle of the night when the fire alarm started beeping
- 1/5
Never informed us that EVERYTHING was not in use. No atm, no restaurant, if we wanted ice we had to go to the first floor. Very poor.
- 1/5
The room was extremely dirty. Stains on carpet dirty pillows . Never in life have we staid in a hotel like that . We asked to have our room changed and they said we would have to pay a fee.
- 3/5
Property is VERY old, there is no longer a restaurant on site, pool was cold and the hot tub was roped off while I was there. Beds are AWFUL and after 3 nights by lower back was in excruciating pain which made flying home very uncomfortable. Common areas don’t seem to have A/C which makes the whole area muggy and gives it a weird smell. Basically anything you want to go to is a 20 minute Uber right which wasn’t awful, but wasn’t ideal at times. Also, I went to turn in the tv (which was VERY small for the room by the way) and it wasn’t working. Flipped to remote over and there were no batteries in the remote! Turns out it ended up being the entire wrong remote. I would avoid if possible.
- 2/5
The hotel has so much potential, but it is rundown dirty, and stinks. Furthermore, if it’s a hotel where lots of people stay, they shouldn’t be rigging stuff up like the air conditioners that they have rigged up to the wall instead of a central AC. The pool is gorgeous and again has so much potential, but it is rundown, nasty and dirty.
- 2/5
Very dusty.
- 3/5
Mold on the baseboards in the lobby. AC in back half of lobby wasnt working. Smell was old and musty. Carpet was dirty
- 4/5
Areas for improvement - update signage and website. Restaurant, bar, breakfast no longer available. main office is located away from the main entrance. None of those things bothered us. Cheap stay at a great location with an awesome pool.
- 2/5
Really old place and cost the same as new hotel whit full amenities
- 1/5
I was very let down by my stay at the Monumental Hotel in Orlando. From the moment we arrived, the entire property had a strong, unpleasant odor. The air conditioning wasn’t working in the common areas, making it uncomfortable to even walk through the lobby or halls. The gym was tiny, outdated, and not air-conditioned — completely unusable in the Florida heat. One of the main reasons I booked this hotel was the on-site restaurant they advertised, only to find out it had been closed for over a month, with no notice given. The photos online are extremely misleading. What looks like a clean, well-maintained hotel is actually full of sticky surfaces, foul-smelling water, and an overall run-down vibe. The most frustrating part? For just $5 more per night, I could’ve booked a stay at a much classier, better-maintained hotel nearby. Definitely not worth the price or the hassle.
- 1/5
It started with the front desk being barely courteous. The beds were the first obvious disappointment. Some kind of foam mattress with pillows that were approx 2” thick. The room was at a blistering 75 degrees so we turned on the air to wait for maintenance to fix the cable because the tv wouldn’t work. The cable was fixed and we went to the pool. There were ducks swimming in it, fruit/nuts from fallen trees were everywhere around and in the pool which created ants around the pool. The lawn chairs were in poor condition and the area was unkept. We quickly returned to the room but it was still 75 degrees. Checked the vents and no cold air. We called maintenance and the same guy came and looked at the thermostat and told us to wait 5 min. Approx 20 min later we requested a new room since they would not refund our money until Monday when a manager was on duty. We were stuck. We did get a new room with a window unit and it was much cooler. The beds were not foam but springs, however were just as uncomfortable. We only saw 2 staff members the two days we had booked. The restaurant “Pineapple Lounge” does not exist or is not operable. The vending machines consisted of crackers, 3-5 bags of chips total. I have never taken issue with a hotel before this one. Good customer service goes a long way but is absolutely crucial when your product is barely tolerable. Could not possibly recommend this place when there were so many other options for a little more or same price.

Outdated hotel, smelly, dirty rooms and rude front desk.
- 1/5
Very outdated. Looks better in picture then it is in person. Everything is old and antique
- 2/5
Has a nice pool. This hotel need a renovation. The parking lot is a little far away from the entrance.
- 5/5
We loved our stay clean , quite, and very safe property!
- 1/5
First of all, I’ll start with the positive the young lady behind the counter behind the glass wall like it was in a bad neighborhood was very nice. When you walked in, you could smell mold we figured well let’s give it a chance Rome only staying for the night I’m recovering from bone cancer And we walked into our room and the mold was so overwhelming. It was horrifying. I wouldn’t want my worst friend to stay there we should’ve known when we pulled in Memorial Day weekend and there was only four cars in the parking lot where every hotel and motel right around was packed Expedia you should be ashamed of yourself for having this on your website. I understand hotels can be old, but they don’t have to be filthy, dirty, and moldy the fact that you’re giving me a hard time about refunding my money is pitiful so I will be posting pictures to prove everything I said. also, why would the manager not be on duty in Disney World area on Memorial Day weekend? I would not want my daughter working by herself in this large building with literally no one around except to guys by the pole making a mess I did not take their picture because I wasn’t looking to get into a fight.
- 3/5
The overall look of the property is good. It is not trashy or anything. The pool area is big and nice but the gazebos are dated. The rugs throughout the hotel are old and could use a good cleaning especially in the room. Customer service was good though and I have no complaints there
- 5/5
It was great
- 5/5
Excellent
- 3/5
The price was good, but the outside of the property isn’t taken care of as they should. Looks more pretty in pictures. The elevator was smelly and dirty.

Got there Friday & our first room was dirty, toilet handle broken, AC extremely loud & not cooling even after the “maintenance man” acted like these were not issues, the particle board headboards are screwed to the walls & are falling apart, the carpet was heavily stained, bedding was not clean(did not even pull back comforter), completely unacceptable & nothing like the pictures on hotels.com. I called down to get moved to another room, we walked into that “non smoking room” & it wreaked of marijuana, was not AS disgusting as the 1st room from what I could see in the short time we were in there, I was with my young daughter who is allergic to smoke & is the reason we were in Orlando for a cheer competition so I couldn’t have her getting sick. We went down stairs with our things so I could better explain the situation as it was hard to understand the woman on the phone. The answer I got from her was to have hotels.com contact the manager on Monday morning & they would take care of refunding my money, fast forward to now Tuesday and I still have not received refund and now have to go through my bank as the hotel is saying no refunds, so I paid for 2 hotels the same weekend because this hotel deliberately misrepresents the condition of it’s rooms with old photos and descriptions, wouldn’t let me load video so I tried to take screenshots from the video. Don’t understand how they have such a high rating on hotels.com but save yourself the headache and stay elsewhere. Good-luck!

Not recommending this hotel at all
- 4/5
The google information stated restaurant, pineapple grill was open for breakfast. Amenities needs updating since there was no restaurant available. Roons didnot come with a microwave. Pillows very thin. Housekeeping very accommodating and brought more. Aside from all above would stay again. Very close to stores, restaurants, discovery cove.
- 1/5
Really ran down , room service only every two days , broken windows , upkeep is really bad and staff is rude
- 1/5
The bed need work
- 3/5
It was dirty, I found five different sets of hair in the bathroom and the floor was dirty.
- 1/5
The most uncomfortable beds I’ve ever seen. You would be better off sleeping on an air matresss. Ultimately left and checked into another hotel because I couldn’t sleep on that bed. Second, you would think they could have a tv bigger than 24 inches. Do yourself a favor and spend the extra 20 dollars to stay at a different hotel and don’t waste your time or money at this hotel. The pool and hot tub were dirty. The rooms haven’t been updated since probably the 80s. The sad part is the architecture in the building is beautiful and with some updating and money spent this could be a nice hotel.

The fact that there were only 3 cars in the parking lot on a Friday evening should have been our first clue. Second clue was that during the long walk to the front desk we didn’t see ANYONE! “It’ll be quiet at least”, we thought to ourselves. Third clue was when the lady at reception said our card wouldn’t go thru for the $100 pre-authorization charge for incidentals so she took a photo of our ID and credit card with her phone. After arguing with her we finally got to our room wich was very dated and worn. We thought we could live with it for two days until we saw how filthy the bathroom was. We turned around and went back reception where the lady said we would have to contact Expedia for a refund. We left and found another hotel. Expedia was no help and we lost the $ for the two nights. Long story short, don’t waste your time with this dump!
- 1/5
Property was in its offseason i guess. Place felt abandoned. Overall conditions was dirty and poor all around. Room smelled like a cheap highway motel room. Rust everywhere. Pool was closed and half the water gone. Price is the only reason to choose this place. Felt like i needed a tetanus shot after checking out.
- 2/5
Had to have fridge replace twice, the other room we had the faucet was sitting on the sink not attached they had to get a new tv because it stopped working
- 1/5
Seemed like a haunted house. Very little people staying there. We actually didn’t even finish our stay. Just moved hotels. Uncomfortable. Fridge broke in our room cigarettes burns in the floor. My son sat in the hot tub and his back was covered in green slime
- 1/5
This hotel was outdated nothing like the picture show carpet dirty full dirty Jacuzzi dirty everything was discussed like a haunted hotel

Really nice property recommend for easy access to parks
- 2/5
Property was not in good condition. Bed was very uncomfortable tv was too small.
- 2/5
Property is very outdated, maintenance is very poor, pool and jacuzzi were dirty.
- 4/5
The hotel was classified as a resort. There was a pool and a hot tub with a water fall. The bed was very comfortable. The coffee maker in our room did not work and there was no breakfast. It was great for the price.
- 5/5
Just a 2 day quick trip. Hotel was comfortable, great price, great location, I will stay here again.

Had a smell that made my wife sick. Dated no well kept. window unit caused mold smell. bathroom fixture not attached.
- 2/5
I wouldn’t stay there again
- 4/5
What a shame because this property has such potential. Needs major updating but pool and hot tub is nice. Not much pool furniture. Carpet is stained. Lack of maintenance hurts this property. Shame nice bar and restaurant not open. Staffing wasn’t the best or friendly. It is worth the money to stay short term.
- 1/5
extremely dirty , there was bed bugs in my bed . i didn’t stay and left as soon as i saw them. DONT STAY HERE
- 1/5
Very dirty
- 4/5
Walking in there was an air of cigarette and/or cigar smell in the hallways and lobby. But the room was perfect. No bad smells. Room was clean. On check in we hit one small snag, I have a service dog and the desk receptionist asked me for documentation. This is actually illegal under the ADA. You can ask if it's a service dog and what tasks does it do. I quickly explained there is no federal or state recognized paperwork or documentation but I answered the questions that should have been asked. Anyone who flashes papers they got online, those are the frauds. She didn't argue with me about it and everything went off fine. AC worked, TV worked. We received back our security deposit without an issue. This is a good hotel for anyone looking for a clean place to rest
- 5/5
Everything
- 3/5
It was a good location for us and close to Sea World. But the room was shower didn't work that good and the pool was ice cold
- 1/5
I booked this hotel because it was a good price and a good star rating, convenient for what i needed. I got there early so they kept our bags for us while we went shopping that was great. We only got back after supper and checked in. We were walking down the hall, the carpet were filthy, elevated was also gross floor was sticky under our sneakers. Got in our room and the carpet was also so dirty and also wet feeling. I ended up not even staying there because i was so grossed out. We left and booked at another hotel.

- 3/5
Cleanliness needs to be improved.
- 5/5
I like this hotel and the building it’s in! The staff were friendly and helpful. However, the sheets were a little dirty and stained :(.
- 3/5
Elegant but strange vibes here, Someone built a luxury hotel 25 years ago and it's been made into a cheap hotel since then. Really nice lobbies and hallways. The rooms were nice. I saw only 1 person of the staff during my visit. Bar and restaurant has closed permanently some time ago. No breakfast. I didn't see any ghosts. That would have been cool. Hotel is on the local ghost tour.
- 3/5
When the hot tub quit heating, the staff were prompt to get it back up and running. The stay was all in all good. The one complaint I have which is why I’m giving 3 stars is every time housekeeping refreshed the towels, stained towels with fecal stains were left. Laundry needs to pay more care to actually making sure the linens are stain free before sending back to the floors.
- 4/5
First impression, even though I booked through a travel site, the hotel was so accommodating and let me change the check in date at no cost when our plans changed. We arrived at 8pm, and the person at the front desk was sound asleep. I said "excuse me" and "hello" so many times at varying volumes that I almost felt bad to wake her. When she did wake up, she was very sweet and accommodating. (I did not for one minute get the impression she was using, she just seemed genuinely exhausted, and wasn't "nodding off".) She told us everything we needed to know, and when we returned to the lobby for pool towels 30 minutes later, she was chipper and helpful. My daughter, grandchildren and myself had the giant pool and hot tub to ourselves, and I had an amazing time in the pool with my grandbabies. The water was chilly (too chilly for my daughter), but didn't stop us from having fun. When I saw it in the daylight, I didn't love how much it needed to be cleaned, but okay. Definitely some serious updating could stand to be done. Carpets weren't awesome, and some towels were stained. But, if I'm being honest, it's a fraction of the cost of lots of the places around it and was less than ten minutes from the park we were visiting. I wouldn't recommend that you stay as part of super special Orlando vacation, but for people who pretty regularly drive a couple of hours for the parks, this place was a treat who's cost justified not making the trip up and back in one day. We'll stay again.
- 4/5
The elevator floor was very dirty and sticky. Public bathroom in first floor was very dirty. The sign "Check in " in front of hotel had a lot of mold on and looks very bad for first picture of hotel. However, the clean room made me positive picture and I will take it again probably.
- 4/5
The water tap from the shower doesn’t work well
- 3/5

Love this place. Stay here at least once a year. Affordable, clean, and quiet. Great pool and hot tub area.
