Pacifica Beach Hotel

This is little more than a "converted motel" quaint but very outdated, our bed was very uncomfortable and probably very very old, an inner spring mattress and just was janky, the staff was nice and apologetic about that. The bathroom and the shower in particular was tiny I've been in a bigger shower on a cruise ship. For a quick one night stay out of SF this will do in a pinch but an extended stay here would be against my better judgment.

Location and jacuzzi tub were amazing but that’s about it. Shower drain was moldy, loose access panel and TP holder in the bathroom. Rose petals (fake, lol…) still in room. Ew. Restaurant opened at check out.

When I arrived the room had red liquid in jacuzzi tub I called front desk she came and looked and said she had no other rooms to move me to. She said she was messaging the manager to give me a discount which never happened. The room had mold and was dirty I will never stay here again

Tile on floor was broken, bathroom counter was missing pieces, in room jetted tub wouldn’t drain, air conditioner was loud/noisy, walls had patches, carpet stained…was VERY disappointed

There are some very good things, including the price and also connected to a great restaurant. The beach is a half a block away and that's a great thing but the place is pretty well rundown they had to move us out of our room because the lock was broken and the next move they moved us into the bathroom door, barely opened and closed, so it rubbed against the floor. It made so much noise but once again price was right restaurant was good and the staff was good. I hope this helps.

This was one of the most beautiful properties. I’ve stayed at in a lot long time. The rooms are immaculate with fireplaces, built-in your suite and a balcony that overlooks the beach is always a plus the pool area was beautiful also with an incredible view, and the staff are very friendly and always willing to help.

*The tile flooring in front of the toilet was not level - tiles next to each other were significantly different heights - tripping hazard. *The laminate on the counter top was peeling off, and was actually missing in some areas. *The plugs were ALL very loose, such that it was hard to find a useful plug for even charging phones --- much less my wife using her hair dryer.

Cost for condition of room was not worth it. Outside looks better than rooms. Clean but carpet is worn, shower is small, baseboard in bathroom was missing a chunk etc. bed was ok but not uncomfortable. Need updated. Our room was partial ocean view and you can see the ocean but lots of noise from the highway

I absolutely love this place. I appreciate the room with a beach view. I enjoy watching the sunset from my room or if I choose I can walk across the street and enjoy.

The view was amazing! Complimentary Coffee in welcome room is yummy !HOWEVER … the water for our jacuzzi was cold! The room needed some TLC - paint needed touch up’s - molding in bathroom was rotted & needs replacing toilet paper roll falling off the wall.

This is a fantastic location but they really need to upgrade these rooms to reflect the price they are charging

The large patio in front of the room, shared by those on the third floor had lovely ocean views. The room was fine, it would get another star except that the view as we turned into the parking area was of overflowing trash dumpsters and the door to our wing didn't close well. A bit disconcerting. We were told at the front desk that breakfast was available in the adjacent restaurant. However, we found out that it was not open during our stay.

I loved the experience. The room was super clean, big and bright. The hotel is in front of the beach which was lovely. Also Kid friendly =D

They are remodeling the rooms. I got luck and got a room that was not remodeled.

We went for one night. It was in walking distance from the beach. Our room had the view of the ocean. It is an older building so it does have some issues like you can hear people walking above you outside the doors talking next-door talking but still pretty nice hotel issues that we had was addressed with staff. It was just minor repairs that needed to be done to the room, such as drawers and the door hinge being loose. All natural wear and tear. The manager said that she was going to address it at our checkout would definitely stay there again.

The location and view were excellent. We were upgraded to a coastal view. The room however is in need of an upgrade. A very tiny shower and showing age around the bottom and all the baseboards. The chairs on the patio were old and broken. The hairdryer on the wall was also not working. Saying all this, the bed was very comfortable but pillows could also be replaced.

Clean room, quiet as necessary. The vents in the bathroom and above the hottub were just noisy when you’d turn it on. Otherwise a great stay.

The indoor pool was excellent and so was the view. Right across from the beach is great. They need some serious maintenance … to return it to its former glory. I stayed 6 nights snd ended up really sick and coughing… damp/ maybe mold set me off

There is a serious parking problem. An excellent restaurant is on the same property and all spaces are taken by restaurant guests in the evening. I rented the night so that I could attend an event in Pacifica. When I came home at 8 pm all spaces were full. I waited for someone to leave the restaurant and parked downhill from the motel. I was told lots of spaces would open up later. Actually there are 4 handicapped spaces that are clearly labeled as having $250 fines if anyone parks there without a handicapped sign hanging in their car. There are also 4 electric charging spaces where you cannot park without an electric car. These were all empty in the morning but there was no tenant space for me to move my car from the restaurant. If there are no tenants that are handicapped or need to charge a car, there should a way for people paying to stay in the motel to display their permission to park. I believe in these parking services, but they have taken 8 spaces formerly for guests, making guest parking unavailable for at least half of the guests in my wing just because the special spaces are not needed. And why do restaurant guests have the privilege of taking any place they want, even if they are not handicapped or charging their car? Also there was no desk clerk available by phone, email, or in person for unexplained lengths of time. I really liked the motel until the practical needs became unavailable.

The staff was extremely kind and helpful, but unfortunately the hotel was in poor condition. 2 of the main issues I had was the TV didn’t work and there was no hot water in the morning (I had a 6 month baby to bathe.) Also, our tub in the room didn’t drain. There was a huge hole in the wall of the closet and hand prints all around the room. It just felt like one problem after another and all I was accommodated was a small discount. I would definitely recommend staying at another hotel, one that has breakfast.

I was looking forward to enjoying a partial ocean view, relaxing in the indoor pool when it got chilly outside, and unwinding in the jacuzzi. However, none of these met expectations. The jacuzzi in particular was not functioning, and although staff seemed aware of the issue, they kept suggesting I “fill it up and submerge the jets,” which didn’t make sense—the unit didn’t appear to even be connected to power. There were also several basic maintenance and safety concerns in the room, including a missing hair dryer, a deadbolt that wouldn’t lock, and missing window lock latches. When I raised the jacuzzi issue, I was told a manager would follow up, but I never heard back, which was frustrating and disappointing. Given the price point, I cannot recommend staying here. There are far better options available at this rate. I would only consider returning if the nightly rate were significantly lower like $50.

This is our 2nd time staying here. First time was for a 4th of July last min trip. We had a room with a balcony overlooking the main road and gorgeous view of the ocean. This time we had a partial view. The location is perfect! Close to Starbucks, grocery, Ross, lots of places to eat and right across from the beach. But it’s dated, beds are not comfy at all, the room was not clean properly.

I like this hotel because its close to the beach. I dont like to much the way its build by sections and to get ice I have to go to the main level

First off, the view will alway make this property stand out above all other hotels around the area. The staff were friendly and accommodating. The room was aesthetically pleasing. Bathroom was beautiful. My only complaint about the room was the floor. It felt dirty even after I cleaned the floor with one of the towels. Other than that I would highly recommend if you are looking for nice beach escape with a view.

I received the wrong room upon check in. No explanations and no options. It was like oh well your room is gone. I can't rate the hot tub since the room I received did not have one as originally booked well in advance.

I will admit, I booked the hotel without really reading reviews. I didn't look till a night or two before our arrival, but when I did, I got a little nervous. We arrived and we were impressed with the location and thought the property itself was beautiful. If you're looking for a luxury property, I'd venture to say you're better off in the city, but if you want a comfortable, safe, and accessible property to the beach with restaurants, a market, etc within a reasonable distance, this hotel is amazing. Our room was clean, had an awesome view, was easily accessible with parking. Only one night did we get back a little later and had to park a little farther away, but I genuinely don't understand some of the negative reviews. We were here for 4 days. My only complaint was the walls being a little thin, but generally our neighbors were quiet. My experience with the staff was great. Front desk was helpful, polite and was there when I needed something printed, no questions asked. The pool though smaller, is indoors and heated. My son has special needs, and when we travel as a family, there's things about some hotels that make the experience just better than others...and he really loved coming here and was comfortable.. Thank you so much for the wonderful stay and giving my little family a fantastic Spring Break. We loved it, and we'll be back soon for sure!!

Jacuzzi tub was broken and there were signs that the entire room had flooded at some point, including mold in the bathroom.

The water didn’t work in the hot tub. We were unable to use it. The Wi-Fi continuously kicked us off and there’s zero cell service. The room was falling apart in the shower was so small. It looked like it was out of a motorhome. I tried continuously calling the front office and no one ever picked up. I’ve been told that a manager will call me back and they just continuously. Tell me that they’re not in they’re not in I stay there was terrible.

Nice upgrades but bathroom door wasn’t hung properly so it wouldn’t close. The room was nice otherwise with fridge and microwave. The back area by the upper parking area needs to be cleaned as there was quite a bit of trash over there but otherwise it was clean.

Pacifica is beautiful. The Hotel is a good score at the right price. Amenities are slim to none, but there are great places to go and great places to eat. Rooms are big, and there’s a jacuzzi in the bedroom. Views are absolutely stunning.

I would only complain the jacuzzi in my room didn’t have wiring jets or light.

Staff and cleanliness of property were exceptional, however, the room needs some “TLC.” The curtains were broken and would not close completely letting in the very bright hallway lights all night. Not to mention lack of privacy. The walls were painted, but missing several spots. The air conditioning unit was dated and very loud. There was a nail polish stain on the sheets, and the fan above the tub was loud and took away the calmness of the soothing tub experience. Overall would definitely stay here again, only we’d request an updated/remodeled room based on the advice of the front desk attendant.

For a community that never gets hot, our room was always warm and stuffy. The A/C was almost always on and set to 62, but it was still warm. We had a nice door that opens to the Beach, but there was no screen. So it was often left closed. Having something to provide cool and fresh air would have been nice.

Def get the balcony partial ocean view room. The first one they put us in (no balcony) was JANKY. The balcony room was SO nice. The night staff was awesome. I forgot her name but she made us so comfortable and was really kind and fun!

We had stayed at this hotel a few months ago and the room was a lot nicer- possibly recently remodeled as compared to this stay. Parking is limited- had to park in restaurant lot, only towels were 2 bath size- no hand towels. Bed not comfy. Room was spacious but laid out weird with a lot of unused space. On the plus side, it was affordable and they serve Peet’s coffee in lobby.

Good location, good staff. TV was cable only which most of hotels now of days aren’t. There was a light by the door that didn’t work, a lamp that didn’t work with a USB port to charge my phone that didn’t work with the one I brought (Mine was too big to fit). There was a wall that had a patch, wasn’t painted in still. There weren’t remotes in the room, I had to ask for staff to bring one up. When I told them about the lamp they just brought another one to the room, handed it to me, and asked me to replace it myself. Which I had no clue how to do. Overall, a mediocre experience. Although most of the staff were nice I did not find that lamp situation very helpful. I am not sure if I will be staying here again.

My stay was substandard. The amenities that most hotels or motels have this place did not. It was not as clean and the tv was ridiculous. Not one Chanel that I recognized and the picture quality was poor.

The hotel is a lovely place with comfortable, if slightly dated, accommodations. The rooms were clean and the views were unbeatable.

Staff was amazing, parking was like trying to shove a sardine back in the tin, not everyone drives a small compact vehicle and for disable parking you had to fight with the restaurant to get that. For the building being built and open since 2003 I expected more the outside is beautiful and grand the entrance is gorgeous but the rooms inside looks like it’s been living a hard life fridge wouldn’t stay cold, carpet torn and worn. Blackout curtain hahahaha ours was broke wouldn’t shut, the outside light flooded the room to say the least it was like sleeping with the lights on all night! The wifi is laughable as well every 5mins cutting you off, then making you sign in again. No ice machine, vending machine out of order…. So romantic date night in a place I’ve always wanted to go to sadly was a let down

Only 1 towel. Went to call housekeeping and the phone didnt work. Found a housekeeper and was told it would be 5 minutes. Towels never arrived. No coffee in room. Nothing on the walls. TV was blurry - on all channels. And the housekeeping came to clean room next door at 8:45 and were very loud - woke us up. The whole experience was extremely odd. I wanted to live it but regret choosing it.

Everything was great. The bathrooms could use a bigger mat in between the shower and tub. Other than that everything was great. Will come again.

Room was comfortable, spacious and the fireplace was a nice added touch. The indoor pool was perfect for a rainy day. The location was convenient. The hotel is by great surfing beaches and also close enough to spend the day in San Francisco. Would highly recommend!

I stayed in a room that was recently destroyed by remodel. The main room, lights were so bright, I got a sun burn. They down sized the Jacuzzi, and put it in the bathroom. They did increase the size of the shower. No more microwave, or refrigerator in the room. . If I stay here again, I would as for a room with out a remodel.

Room was is horrible shape. No safety lock on the door, rust on the window sills, make up table cracked and chipped. Lighting was horrible.

Destiny at the front desk gave us phenomenal customer service. Room was great with a beautiful view.

Parking!!!! Your parking lot is atrocious and your staff lacks sympathy for patrons just trying to park anywhere near the hotel. I shouldn’t have to hike my belongings in from the road up the hill behind the hotel.

Great stay overall! The location is unbeatable, right on PCH, making it easy to enjoy the ocean and walking trail. The property was very clean, and we felt comfortable throughout our stay. The pool could have been better maintained during our visit, and we did wish there was a jacuzzi for a more relaxing experience. Parking near the rooms is limited, but there is additional parking available on the property, which was helpful. We loved staying here and would happily come back!

Awesome little hotel. Cozy, not crowded, and super nice staff. You'd expect to pay much much more for a beachfront hotel in Pacifica, but this was pretty affordable. Deluxe king room had comfy bed and cool hot tub. Why pay stupid SF prices and pay for parking when you've got this little gem 20 minutes away. Will return !

Mattress it’s too old

I called in advance to be sure I have one of the best views bc I found a cheaper room directly through the hotel that seemed like a better view but was told the one I booked was the best option. I was put by the noisy office where there’s mostly a parking lot view. The room did not seem clean, there were dark stains/marks all over the bedding and the pillows were tossed in the middle of the bed. Toilet flushing broke in the middle of the night, the chain broke. Not my best stay here for sure

The staff is so friendly. The room was so clean. The best thing is near by the beach.

This hotel has so much potential, but falls flat when it comes to cleanliness and general maintenance. The room has a dirty, musty odor, multiple bathroom tiles were cracked or broken, the walls desperately need a coat of paint, the carpet and headboard need to be cleaned or replaced entirely. The staff is helpful and the location is fantastic, but the accomodations are not worth the price.

The cleanliness of the room was a major issue. The pillow had some fluid-like stains, and the pool was not clean enough. There were also no towels available.

Room was clean, quiet and comfortable! I absolutely loved the in room jetted tub. Puerto 27 the restaurant next door was excellent! Amazing view of the ocean from the room. We will definitely be back!

Clean room

Staff was great. Room was decent although the bathroom door did not lock. The Spa tub in the room was not used although the upstairs until was and it was quite loud at night. Closet doors stuck in their rails and the bed seemed to be missing its duvet. The location is prime and the view was one of the best in that area. Parking was tight in the garage area but fine in the outside slots.

My family loved this place so much that we started and ENDED out trip here. We booked on a whim based on proximity to SFO and the beach. We were pleasantly surprised by a clean, friendly, out-timey feel of a hotel. It was quaint, had everything we needed, and was just a short walk to the beach where the surfers were plentiful. The bathrooms were spacious and clean, the beds comfortable, the sights amazing. The town (which we had only driving through in the past) was so sweet with great places to pick up snacks or meals. We WILL be back again.

The bathroom wasn't cleaned properly , some outlets didn't work, there was no extra sheets and the room was very cold. The WiFi connection was terrible and the people next door had guests coming late hours :( Only good thing was the view..

The staff are amazing, they helped me check the roads for my drive home and were so kind and caring. I absolutely loved my room. This my last motel stay from my trip on the coast. I loved having a jacuzzi to relax before my long drive back to Utah. I loved the patio to see the ocean right by my room. I got great pictures.

Booked the hotel for the pool but pool was closed due to “high winds” unsure why it would effect it since it was a indoor pool , I would’ve picked a beach view hotel instead with no pool.

False advertising!!! The pictures on the website didn’t match the room I selected and booked. The room was outdated and the bathroom lights and phone to front desk didn’t work. The hot tub didn’t have the plug available to use, so I had to use my cell phone to get a hold of the front desk. The room was freezing and blankets weren’t provided, so it made for a cold night. Last but not least, the room was not clean. There were inappropriate items left behind and when I checked out reported it to the front desk and they promised a manager would call me, but I’m still waiting and I tried to call and ask for one, but keep getting the run around!! Overall, I will never book this hotel again!

Light fixture was broken and falling from ceiling. Dead bolt on door was broke and loud shouting for hours during the night. So bad that I left at 3am and went to another place to try and get some sleep before my long work shift the following day. Staff attempted to calm down the partying but the lock being broken and the lights falling down…I had enough. Asking for a full refund as this was a costly waste of my time.

Everything was amazing..view was better than expected. Our room had lil swans made out of our of the towels as we were celebrating a birthday.

Just outside of the city of San Francisco so it’s easy to get in and out The dramatic ocean views really give it a wow factor and the in room hot tub caps it off nicely especially for the decent prices point

The great thing about this place is the location and the view. It is a good escape from the city and we plan on returning.

I would prefer an ice machine to be able to go get ice from instead of having to go to the office when you need ice. I think there should be more than one coffee cup in the room and I think there should be two hand towels, and two washcloths at least and an extra blanket in the room. The air conditioner/heater goes on and off continually, the plug-ins on the lamps by the bed are so close to the lamp that you cannot hardly plug anything into them. If you're trying to charge your phone, the curtains on the front windows are lousy so much light comes through them at night it's like I'm trying to sleep during the day. I will say the refrigerator works great.

King room with partial beach view, their viewing tower or their restaurant is blocking the view completely of the setting sun which was the whole reason we booked the room To watch a westcoast setting sun only one set of towels when we had two people in the room The microwave door was broken so it wouldn’t shut Had trouble even finding the room to begin with and they didn’t have breakfast but they had a restaurant so we said, “oh no big deal we can eat breakfast in the restaurant and watch the view in morning,”, it doesn’t open til evening time They don’t serve breakfast at all😟 The jet tub was very short My girlfriend is tall, so that wasn’t pleasant for her as we had hoped. For the money this place is lacking a lot If you want and ocean view make sure you book the end room all the way at the end We also were mislead thinking we had access to a balcony to view the ocean but our room was the only one that didn’t have a balcony or access to the balcony We booked the room so that we could watch the sun set from our balcony The website said in the description partial or shared balcony, that was a lie Website also said blackout curtains which I loved because I hate morning sun coming in the window Pictures below of the curtains They aren’t curtains at all Blinds!!!! Did not block out anything !

The fireplace didn't work when I noticed that a lot of the plumbing hadn't been done very well.Because you could see visible mold... It was okay for what it was.But I think mostly you're just paying for the beach that you're near.

The room was nice aside from the parking. The hot tub was very tiny, really only for one person.

No hot water in shower

The room smelled moldy. Black spots and rips on sheer curtains. No cell service inside the room (had to physically leave the room to send and receive texts). Heater didn't work consistently. Heater power was inconsistent and way too loud to have on during the night. No caffeinated coffee in the room (had to call the front desk). Staff is kind and friendly. The location is perfect and the ocean views are stunning, but I will not be staying there again. Very disappointing.

Beautiful, clean room with a wonderful view of the ocean. Staff ( Tina, Destiny and Heather) at the reception were very friendly and helpful. They helped to make my stay even more enjoyable!!! I loved the hot tub in the room. Very good value. I look forward to staying at the Pacific Beach Hotel again!!!

We enjoy our two nights stay in two queen bed room . Clean spacious room . Amenities great with ref and microwave and a balcony . It’s a walking distance to the beach and trails .

Place was nice a few things is the toilet seat was so loose Not as clean as I'm used to. Parking was a little difficult I have a truck. If you have a small car it would be OK There was no parking on my level Had to park down a little ways There was no hot water in the morning when we were checking out Had to take a cold shower. It would have been nice if they had signs directing you towards the beach

We checked in on Saturday Sept 20, but unfortunately we checked out a few hours into our stay. The room was disgusting with mold and rotted wood on the floor boards on the bathroom and the hot tub bath was also dirty. I spoke with the front desk and they told me that they would speak to the manager and get us a refund but guess what the manager never approved our refund. Would not recommend this property to anyone. I really wish I took some photos so you all could see what I am talking about .

I got room 111 which was bottom floor by the front and the employee areas were quite loud. There’s no screen door on the slider and it opened to the parking lot so I couldn’t enjoy the ocean breeze. The air conditioner was super loud and was either freezing or wouldn’t turn on. I think it would have been great if it wasn’t for the location of the room.

Literally was dirty and the towels had stains, the bed sheets as well.... cracked tiles glued together... paint missing on the walls... Literally paid extra for the view and jet tub and the view was the traffic lights off of the highway....

It was very quiet. I was able to get the good rest that I needed . the beach view, was great .I was able to wake up for the crashing sounds of the waves and look at the beach. I will. I will be back. Yes I will. This was very relaxing for me and I enjoyed being here

From the outside everything is very nice but the inside of the room had damaged walls and the toilet was clogged, also no towels in the room until I asked for some

The shower is too small

Customer service stood out to me. I believe "Destiny" at the front desk was my guardian angel. There was a mixup of rooms in the system but she handled it like a champ. Also when i had Uber Eats delivery i was left with no utensils, but yet again Destiny to the rescue!

We stayed here for a beach weekend. It's right across the street from the beach (walkable!), and for bonus points, there's a Taco Bell Cantina nearby. I think we got a renovated room, as we read some previous negative reviews, so we went in with low expectations just in case. But our stay was great. We got a text the day of welcoming us to the hotel. We ended up getting in later than expected, and the hotel was responsive and accommodating. The room was nice. The beds were clean and cozy. The bathroom was nice with good water pressure in the shower. The only small things we noticed are that the shampoo & conditioner bottles were small (we're a family of 4), and there were only three towels. But those are easy fixes! Also, we saw reviews about parking being limited, which it is, but we did not have a problem; even with checking in late in the day, there were still a few spots open. Basically, one spot per room, I think, but we had two cars for our group, and we both found spots. Overall, we'd stay there again. PS: No hot tub in our room, which we prefer not to have, glad to see our room did not come with one (we saw some in prior reviews).

Room was dirty as hell. Stains on the curtains, towels, each corner of the room had dry boogers, dirt that hasn’t been cleaned off in years. Gave it a chance but checked out 6 hours after check in cause I didn’t want to leave there with either scabies or bugs bugs. 350$ to stay in a dump like this? Motel 6 is looking better and better.

The bed was really old and there was chipped paint around the baseboards. The faucet for the tub was really loose.

Pacifica Beach Hotel was a nice place to stay. There were beautiful views of the ocean and beach. It was quiet and peaceful and the area surrounding the hotel was nice.

There was broken tiles with broken edges between the sleeping area and the bathroom. The in room hot tub/jacuzzi didn't work and then wouldn't drain the water after we tried using it. Overall a subpar experience.

The real issue happened at checkout. We asked for a late checkout and were told there would be a charge after 12 PM, which we were fine with. We were getting ready to leave around 12:45 when, unexpectedly, the staff called the police to have us escorted out. This was completely unnecessary and disturbing, especially since we had communicated clearly and were willing to pay the late checkout fee. The police didn’t do much—they simply told us we needed to leave. They left shortly after, and we finished getting ready and checked out without any further incident. The entire situation felt excessive and honestly left me questioning whether bias may have played a role—possibly related to our race or orientation. I can't say for sure, but the whole experience felt off and deeply uncomfortable. It’s unfortunate, because the hotel itself is nice. But the way this situation was handled really overshadowed what could’ve been a positive stay.

We didn’t have any towels in the room. We had to go to the front desk and grab them. Halfway through the stay are keys to unlock the door to get in the room didn’t work. Got another set and they still didn’t work. Got the staff key worked for like maybe two hours and the same problem. Had to get another staff key and it worked the day n half we had left.

This is my go to when I am in this area. This hotel looks so nice, I call it similar to the Hotel Del in San Diego. The location is excellent. Beautiful views and in August. I have seen baby gray whales playing and swimming around the bay from my room or the 3rd floor viewing deck. It looks like an old top notch hotel, that has been partially renovated, but is a tremendous value based on location and views.

Located across Hwy1 from a public beach. My room had an ocean view and an in-room jacuzzi. Built on a hill with a steep driveway. Has an elevator. Attached to a Peruvian restaurant but I didn’t try it. Lots of other options a few miles away in in heart of Pacifica. I liked PBH. Good price. Would definitely stay there again.

I got two King rooms, they were not near each other. One room had a “private balcony” with a spring bed. The balcony was not as private, it was a small 3ftx6ft that had waist-high open mental bars with the next room. They smoked outside, so you can’t really enjoy the balcony. The other room had an “partial view” with a foam bed. The view was just the patio that everyone walks by to get to their rooms. The rooms were old, smelly, and dingy. The hot tubs are next to the beds, and the laminate flooring from the hot tube to the carpet was less than a foot. I’m sure the water has soaked up the carpets before, because it smells damped. The heater/AC didn’t work in one room. The pool is indoors, in an isolated building, so it was freezing leaving the pool to get to our rooms. The pool building had showers, we wanted to warm up before leaving out the building, the water never got hot. I hope they can invest in upgrading the rooms. Would not stay here again.

The bed was comfortable and there were four pillows which is never. There were a few busted tiles around the property and trash was not picked up on the grounds.

I was very impressed overall with this hotel. I will for sure stay here again. Short walk to the beach. Food and store within walking distance. Room was better than i expected, clean and comfortable. Had a fire place to end ur day with. Friendly staff. The balcony wrapped everything up. A perfect touch. The Pool area was disappointing but we spend most of our time at the beach anyway. 10 out of 10 recommended

This is a great spot, close to the beach, if you like the ocean if you are a surfer or if you just want a nice beach to walk on... THIS IS IT! The staff was great, the coffee machine at the front desk AWESOME. Close to SF check, inexpensive CHECK, made my stay the best, CHECK! I will come back here again next time business brings me up to SFO, San Jose or SF

My only complaint was that in our room we could hear an intermittent very loud noise that seemed to ‘be come from the pipes or plumbing systems, which would not stop all night and continue on throughout the rest of our stay . The hotel staff stated that they would give us a discount or break on the price yet it had to be requested by Expedia since our reservation was made and paid through you , also there was a price discrepancy between what we paid Expedia and what the hotel actually charged to Expedia. I’m not very happy with Expedia , I might not use them anymore for my traveling needs, unless they work a discount with the Pacifica Beach Hotel and refund me some of my cost and make it up to me.

I wish we’d had more time to enjoy. The jacuzzi controls were confusing and the bathroom fan stayed on all the time which bothered my husband. A screen on door to our balcony would’ve been-better so we could’ve left that door open at night.

This is a great place to stay

We stayed in an updated room with two queen beds. The room was pretty basic, nice balcony with a partial view of the ocean. The location is perfect—right across the street from the beach. Noise in the hotel was a huge problem. I guess it’s probably more of a parenting problem, but there were children running and screaming in the hallways until 2:30am. I also have two young children and we all struggled to sleep. It was so loud that it sounded like they were yelling right outside our door. We could also hear our neighbors as if they were talking in our same room. If you stay here, but sure to pack a very loud white noise maker if you want to sleep!

Parking was better sitting the second stay but still isn’t great. The door to our room was broken and we had to make sure it was closed all the way and locking it was difficult. Also there seems to be plenty of empty rooms yet we were put right next to another family. They seems to have many people and a baby. They were very loud. Seems like we would have been spaced out a bit.

Staff was very courteous and the restaurant was delicious

The rooms are spacious, and the beds are comfortable. We are always reserve the room 208 because of the full ocean view and the two person Jacuzzi with massaging jets. The staff are always friendly and welcoming. Destiny knows us when we call for reservation and she’s always treat us like close friends. Tina is the manager of the hotel and she is the best. We always look forward to seeing her on our trip to Pacifica.

The staff was very friendly. The room was nice, it needed a few repairs but nothing that would make us not want to stay again. There is a restaurant and bar on the property which was really convenient. We enjoyed the food. The best part was it was right across the street from the beach. Parking was difficult at times because all the parking spaces were full.

Very steep parking lot and little to no parking

The shower window did not stay up or have a screen. Could not work the TV because I had an old guide that two staff members knew of but did nothing about. The tub plug would not drain, also told two different staff members about. Neither did they know what to do and basically shrugged their shoulders. Took baths in the same water for the two nights. One of the jets is not functioning, and the light is not working. The visit could have been much nicer.

The hotel wasn't as great as i thought it would be. The bottom of the door was open and felt a bit unsafe. The tv wasn't great either and that's important when i want to relax and unwind. I did, however, enjoy their coffee machine in the lobby.

Terrible service

Nice view of the ocean/beach. Even though it's across hwy1. Easy walk to the beach with a light and crosswalk. The room is somewhat dated but I've heard they are remodeling. Bed was good and a/c worked well. Our room had a Jacuzzi and we tried it, worked good. The bed was comfortable. TV was basic cable and dated, lower resolution. Parking was tight and limited due to part of the parking blocked due to a large (remodel?) dumpster and a graduation party at the restaurant next door. But, location is excellent and overall a good place to stay.

Granted, there was a great deal of renovation going on and there is no carpet in the hall outside our door and our door had about a 1 inch space underneath it and whenever someone walked by or talked out in the hall, it was clearly heard. Still, there was a nice welcoming staff, and it looks like the building is under some major renovation which when it is done, I’m sure it will be quite nice. We probably would stay there again, but not until the renovation is over. One other thing, there’s no breakfast offered, but they do have coffee in the lobby.

But the room had a balcony that I could sit on and have my coffee. This was very relaxing.

Very noisy! Could hear neighbors playing music all night, the cleaning crew vacuuming and crashing into stuff. The lights in the hall shine through bottom of door - should be able to turn off; same will balcony lights. Parking is also difficult- cars parking everywhere- making in hard to pull out of the small spaces.

The location is great. There is a great restaurant next to the property. Our room was clean and had a great view of the ocean.

Been staying to Pacifica Hotel For 20 years plus. It’s in a perfect location., Ocean view rooms are absolutely amazing. The hotel has been doing some renovating, which is looking great.

This property is under construction. Complete renovation. Cant understand why it is not postes anywhere. They shoud definitely inform people prior to arriving on property. Limited parking, constant noise, i really like the place but the idea of a relaxing stay while a man lift is running around and they are repairing a roof is beyond frustrating.
