Great stay!

The view of the ocean was nice. But nothing else was. The hotel was quite dirty. The carpet in my room was sticky, wet in spots (when I tried to mop the wet spot with tissues, to make sure it wasn't urine, the tissue came up damp and absolutely filthy). The staff were sometimes nice, often grumpy and didn't seem to be focused on guests. Lots of cigarette butts laying around the property, especially in the parking lot. Strange smells. The whole experience was uncomfortable. The place needs a full renovation and new management.

Dinner at MoonRakers is a must on the property, all seats face the ocean and sunset was amazing. Outstanding service!

My room was not cleaned the entire time I was there. Was given a complimentary drink but not allowed to use it in Room Service. Whats it matter if you're still purchasing the entree as expected. Everything else was fine.

The hotel was like a maze. The pool was really hard to get to and the staff made wait for about 20 minutes at the front desk before they came down to get my room . When I got to the room, my key card didn’t work. It was quite a walk like a maze down the hallway up an elevator then I had to come back down to the desk where they made me wait again to reprogram my card . I could smell the restaurant below my room. The view of the ocean was very nice, but for the price to look at the top of a restaurant and smell them cooking fish wasn’t the best.

The location and convenience is hard to beat. Close to the city, on the beach, with stores, restaurants, activities and nature nearby. Room view to the the ocean. Bed was comfortable. Staff was friendly and accommodating. add one more trash bin to the room. Noisy neighbor arrival after 10pm. ceramic cups for coffee, as an option.

They offer a room with a balcony view. Yet the balcony is literally 1ft. lol. Everything is old at this place. Would definitely not recommend this hotel to anybody.

The building is in need of repairs, the room was nice for the price although there was no A/C, and the staff was helpful. Having the restaurant attached was cool but slightly pricey. All in all it was ok.

Spacious room. peek view of ocean. Help from Victoria Room wifi was horrid. This was my 4th stay here and 1st with wifi problems. I responded to the welcome text right away that asked to be notified of issues and never got a response during my 5 night visit. I got back too late that day to request help. The next morning, I used my phone walking down the hall to see where I got a better wifi signal. I asked at the front desk if I could get a signal booster or switch to a higher numbered room based on my research vs mine near the elevator. Lynn only said wifi was bad all over the hotel, there were no boosters, and all the 'rooms in my class' were full and I could check the next day. the next day, I spoke to Victoria, who asked if I would be ok with 2 queens instead of 1 king. When I agreed, she quickly found a room on my floor in the number range I had requested, gave me a key for the new room so I could easily move down the hall without having to wait til later in the day, and put a note in my november reservation to try to ensure I got a higher numbered room next time.

Spa worked. The pool was good. The view was great. Location fantastic. The price is low for the San Fran area. They need to fix the outside. It looks run-down. Also, they need to fix the elevator.

On the beach! Older and classic but in need of some upgrades

Booked a room here drove four hours to find out the elevators were not working half the hotel was shut down so they couldn’t move my room from the fourth floor and mind you. I am disabled and can’t walk very far refuse to refund the room. Try to look for a hotel in the area, but everything was booked because of the holiday weekend or was it two night minimum and I was only gonna be there for one night. They had a young staff. Member help with all my luggage having to carry it up for flights of stairs, which was completely hard for myself as I am unable to walk long distances, so I unfortunately tripped going up the stairs, which was more embarrassing than anything but leaving both my legs looking like I had just left an MMA fight. So due to this a couple of the events that I was supposed to attend, I did not because I knew that I could not walk up and down the stairs several times, which caused me to not do the things which was the whole reason for my trip! While staff was very apologetic, they still did nothing to make the situation right and when you’re paying that much for a room, they should definitely compensate you in someway. I travel a lot from work and stay in this area, but will not stay at this hotel again.!

Location was about it. Housekeeping and staff were nice enough. The place is falling apart. I’m surprised they haven’t condemned it. Even the elevator went out, we were on the 4 th floor . Was down there for surgery for my hubby he was not to exert himself 4 floors of stairs ugh!

We love staying here! We brought our two month old baby for our first family vacation and it was awesome. We got the king bedroom facing the beach and it was beautiful and peaceful. Really close to the beach very clean spot and close to a bunch of different foods. I would definitely be going back and wouldn’t change anything about it.

The outside of the property does not match the inside. It looks a little run down on the outside but the inside was very clean, a little dated but clean. The restaurant inside the hotel. Moonraker, was excellent. Food was delicious, drinks were top notch and loved the piano player.

Great view & Location! However, the room was not cleaned during our stay. There was no cream available with the complimentary coffee. The fitness center was tiny.

There were dirty tissues under the chair. The toilet didn't want to flush every time it was used. The tv leaned bad to one side and wouldn't go straight. The tv remote was pretty worn out and the buttons didn't seem to want to work. The wall paper was peeling off the walls. Parking is horrible if you have a full-size truck. My truck barley fit in every aspect of the parking garage. I know it was out the hotels control, but to the WWE wrestling match that was going on in the room above us at 7a.m. still curious who won?

Nothing really, it was close to the beach, where men fish. plenty of parking everything else was nasty, stank of cigarettes or Ganga. You have to call in every night to request room cleaning. And they want you to tip the staff for doing what you’ve already paid. It was walking into an old 1970’s nightmare. Old, ugly, and dingy!!

No maid service unless you schedule it! I have never encountered this before. Then when I asked for coffee and clean towels, the front desk clerk acted annoyed. It was then 6pm, the maids had gone home. Hmmm, not my problem!

I love the location, being on the water and hearing the waves 24 hrs a day was very relaxing. It was very outdated and half the hotel rooms and parking lot was closed down due to a recent bad storm. The pillows were also super flat.

Location Requested ADA room. Ground floor if possible. Neither achieved even after requesting at check in. No microwave in room. Refrigerator was not clean. Room view was of a/c units on 3rd floor roof.

Great ocean view. Lovely room, the property itself appears dated and in need of some updates, carpet, etc. The person who cleaned the room sprayed (room freshener?) the carpets using a stream spray, so there were wet spots on the carpet, therefor wet socks - I saw her do that as we entered the room and she was finishing up.

Older hotel on the way out. The parking garage appeared partially condemned. We left a day early to get away from the funk and run down conditions.

It was okay. Staff were friendly. Underneath the beds we found trash when we were double checking before we left. Beds were really comfortable. Our phones deactivated our room keys are we got locked in the pool area. We had to walk out the emergency gate and through the parking lot. There were no pool towels in the gym like posted. Overall was okay. For the price it was great. Couldn’t beat the price really. We would probably stay there again.

The view was very nice. The beds were very comfy. The staff were very friendly. I don’t really have anything to complain. It’s just one thing with the price with that high. I would probably include some type of mini little breakfast because there isn’t many breakfast spot options right there. You have to drive a bit.

This property was good. The property itself was very clean, although it is very old and needs updating… The location is wonderful. The pool was closed, unfortunately and the hot tub was running, thankfully with wonderfully strong jets. It could’ve been hotter… There were no towels available and no one mentioned anything about pool or hot tub towels. Like I said, the property was clean but very rundown.

Love the location and proximity to great restaurants and the ocean. The property was great but we paid for a full view and basically all we could see was a big thick wood railing. The chairs were mostly comfortable but so low that all we could see from a seated position was the dang railing. So disappointing.

Hotel is located right on the beautiful Rockaway Beach. And easy walk to Pacifica State Beach and the most amazing taco bell in the world.

We stay here often. It's not fancy but it meets all our needs. Comfortable, great views and clean. The area around here is fun and safe.

Hotel is very clean but old. Wifi was poor and basically unusable. The junior suite is an odd room, it's a very large room but with nothing in it. It was particularly maddening that the bathroom was very small and one small bar of soap was provided for the widely spaced double sink.

The view was beautiful, front and center, though there are a lot of passer byers so not much privacy on the deck and I might mention the deck is only for standing, not enough space to have a seat or put a seat. If you need more towels, more coffee, cups, anything really be prepared to call them twice and remind them before they bring anything. They will not clean your room while you are there even if you request it. Location was cute restaurants everywhere but very expensive for basic food. Cute little gift shops, a dispensary, ice cream parlor, you name it all in one location. The hotel pool and hot tub were clean and very nice. The ice machine will dispense ice only, so bring your own water. No microwave in rooms, one on the second floor in the corner. Elevator doors close extremely fast so if you have children hold your arm in the opening so the doors don't close without you in with them. There are luggage carts everywhere which was very useful and nice. Beds were comfortable, TV channels were very limited but we didn't mind, we weren't there to watch TV. Beautiful State Beach two minutes down the road, hard to find parking the later in the day you go. Great location but come prepared with your own things cause the hotel itself isn't very accommodating a d to eat out will cost you a pretty penny anywhere within walking distance.

Walking distance from this hotel is the beach, dinning and shops. Clean room and spacious. I use a walker and could get around by myself.

This hotel was a hidden gem! It was very clean, my room was quaint and comfortable. I had a wonderful view of the ocean, even though it was listed as a partial view. The bar across the street turns into live music and after hours dancing. My friends and I had a blast there, and the morning after we had a delicious meal there too! I will definitely return!

Front desk was rude. I arrived to check in at 4 which is what the check in time was. She told me “my room wasn’t ready, and that I could check in whenever I want but I can’t go to the room until it’s ready”. Told me they would call me. The beds are hard and the rooms are outdated.

From start to finish: we drove up and the building itself looked pretty run down. I was questioning my choice until we got inside. Clearly that had been redone recently and I was quite surprised. Our room was big, clean, and had a nice front row view of the water. The bed was okay at best. Very bouncy, which meant I could feel my husband move throughout the night. The one thing that I did not like was the feeling that they were trying to kick me out too soon. Normal check in usually starts at 3:00 PM. This hotel starts at 4:00. At 8:00 in the morning, I received both an email and a text asking me what time I was planning to check out. Then at 8:45 AM, housekeeping was already knocking at my door. Can I please enjoy the room I paid for? Beond that, I would probably choose to stay here again.

Room was decent size. Sheets were not clean. Overall not a horrible spot. Still have Nicks next door for cocktails, and dancing. Although not many good shops any longer.

Service was very pleasant and helpful. Hotel well-positioned near restaurants and beach. Room had a really nice patio (although my room had a limited beach view). A couple downsides-- it can be difficult to get around the hotel (up a stairs, down a couple hallways, elevator up, down a really long hallway to room) and the room air/heat was a touch noisy and cimplicated to control.

Clean spacious room

When I arrived, I discovered that I was given one king size bed when I had reserved 2 queen size beds for my nephew and I. The woman at the desk was very kind, but said the only other thing available was a king with a hide-a-way bed for my nephew. When we settled in the room, we discovered that the wifi was so weak, we were not able to do anything on our devices. Overall, a big disappointment.

The bed and pillows were uncomfortable. Soap dispenser had to be pumped multiple times to get poor quality soap. We can hear the neighbors. Facility is a bit run down and needs remodeling including the parking area. The lady at the front desk when we arrived should smile and be welcoming.

The front desk staff were super nice and very helpful. And the views and ocean ambience is spectacular. But this place needs some serious TLC. Rugs made our feet black. Room keys kept being disabled(probably the most annoying thing). Entire room shook if we walked too fast Desk chair falling apart. Sink drain was very slow. HVAC was just a thing on the wall. Fireplace not functional. No complimentary anything. Nothing offered as Silver Expedia member. Walls surrounding the pool area look like they’re about to crumble and there was tons of caution taped areas of the parking area. Tbh I’d come back but if the building is falling apart, a few more guest perks wouldn’t be a bad idea.

I stayed at the Lighthouse Hotel, and it was a great experience! Right across the street, The Sea Breeze restaurant serves wonderful food — everything was delicious. The staff there were kind and absolutely awesome. Highly recommend both the hotel and the restaurant for a relaxing and enjoyable stay!

We arrived a little early and the Sophia at the front desk was great about getting us in early. Room was clean and all of the staff was friendly. We ate at the Moonraker which is connected to the hotel. Great views, service and food.

Front desk woman was not the most friendly and seemed new. She struggled a bit to get us checked in. We were out and about most days so we didn't really have any other interaction with staff.

Receptionist was extremely rude! Rooms are outdated and felt dirty. Parking was easy.

Good restaurant - Mortimer where staff were super helpful. Hotel is tired but still comfortable with great views. I was there three nights and room was never serviced.

The attached restaurant, Moonraker, has a decent happy hour, but the fish and chips was lacking. Three small fingers of battered cod with some fries for $21 seems a bit much.

Overall very disappointing have you made a promise of receiving two bottles of sparkling wine in my room per past. Arrive there only to be placed in the wrong room and spent 30 minutes trying to find that room. Had to come back to the lobby just be given the right room. Very annoyed

Absolutely loved my stay! The hotel is spotless and welcoming, but the real star is Moonrakes Restaurant. The food was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared, and the ocean view is unbeatable—especially at sunset. Friendly staff, great service, and the best spot to relax and enjoy the scenery. Can’t wait to come back!

Under remodel. Appears to have been built in the 60's. Beachfront units have no a/c, was not mentioned in booking. Only have a box fan. Should be torn down and rebuilt. If you like and old run down unit, by all means book there otherwise stay away

You're paying mostly for location with this hotel. Very walkable to small beach and a few minute drive to larger beach. I'm surprised the rating was this high. The building is old and needs remodeling of everything inside. When I'm on vacation, I want to feel like I'm being taken care of (especially since spending my hard earned money). At this hotel, I felt like, really this is it? They also charge additional for a "skyline view" which had a big building blocking the view of the ocean. What we actually saw from our balcony was the side of a restaurant, top of an old building with garbage cans and custodian carts on the side, and some ocean on the sides of the restaurant. Very misleading. Feels dishonest that they call that a skyline view and charge extra for it. I will not come back here again. Wasn't worth the proximity to the beach.

Beach was a major plus. My first room key didnt work i went and found the maintenance guy and was very help he could'nt get oit to work but they switched my room for me.

The room was clean

Pacifica Lighthouse has been my get away for over 20 years. Recently was the first time ever that I had a problem with rude, obnoxious, noisy and inebriated individuals late Saturday night (2300 hours) under my room (rm 123). I was awakened by several loud voices, laughing and cacophony, called guest services to report and noise went well into 0230 hours. Never has happened before. The coffee in our room was not good, had no cable for movies either. Bath tub drain backed up during shower also. I will try one more visit maybe next year, or possibly in several weeks from now, and if I have the same experience - sadly will not return. Management needs to have some form of security patrol, especially on weekend, to deal with problem of revelers disturbing the peace (of paying patrons).

We have stayed at this hotel many times but this time we had issues with the wifi. It was very weak and kept kicking us off. We may not stay here again due to the internet issues.

The room and hotel were very nice, but the views are not nearly as good as the photos would lead you to think.

The hotel itself is not great. Our rooms were a little run down and had a strong odor of cigarette smoke. The fridge looked clean but was in what looked like a moldy cabinet and had a horrible odor that made everything smell that we put in it. We visit Pacifica/ Half Moon Bay a few times a year and have stayed in nicer hotels for the same price.

Right by the sea. Nice pool area, with towels. Good garage.

ALSO in the room on the mirror and on the laminated sheet it states that the room will have maid service each and every day! When i requested new towels the receptionist shoved a printed sign that said every 3 days. I was NOT shown this on check in. Get the story correct and get rid of incorrect signage! I was treated as if i could not read nor could i accept something i had not seen....also the bath area floor was always wet 253 rm

Moonraker is absolutely delicious Super clean room

The hotel was run down. Everything was outdated and rusty. It’s sad because it has beautiful view with sunset and whale watching from our window. It’s a shame that that it has not been taking care of otherwise it would be a fantastic place to stay with the super view of the ocean.

Terrible experience the initial staff was very friendly and then it turned into a nightmare between Expedia and the hotel it’s self, I had, had a confirmed reservation through Expedia only to arrive at the hotel that I had no reservation planning on a week stay to be informed they had no rooms and they were completely unwilling to help and I was on my own to deal with Expedia which wound up being over to hours on a phone call to have nothing resolved other than getting a refund back and being set on my own to find another hotel for a week with my family as to this hotel and the way they handled trying to resolve a problem or coming up with a possible solution they fully seemed to care less I would never recommend them or to anyone wanting to stay there unless you like to be treated like you don’t matter and yes I’m extremely disappointed with what should’ve been an amazing week being at what the pacific coast.

Property was clean and staff were friendly but the AC cut off halfway through the night and staff were not helpful in that regard. Plenty of parking but not too many outlets in the room. Elevator very slow but works.

This place is definitely not as nice as it looks and sounds online. It needed refurbishing about 10 years ago. The outside, and some of the inside, is very dilapidated…I know the beach environment is extreme, but this place clearly does not invest in upkeep. With that said, the rooms were clean, the bed was fairly comfortable, and the location is fantastic…but that’s all it has going for it. We did not go to the restaurant, but it looks very nice.

We do like this place overall- the proximity to the ocean and usually the price is right... We’ve enjoyed the Moonraker restaurant as well. However, the front desk experience each time is super lackluster to poor (slow and unfriendly service and telling me I caused them more work by doing the pre-checkin thing that Wyndham texts you the day before). It does also truly need some TLC from top to bottom, but I’m afraid if that happens, the rates will go up too.

Love this place and have been staying here for 25 years. However one of the buildings has been out of service for over 3 years and you can’t get a luggage cart.

Beautiful views, restaurant a bit pricey for a long stay. The diner just outside was fantastic though.

7/13/25 I paid for an ocean view, but I viewed a wall , backyards, parking lots & rooftops. I left.

Hallways and outside the rooms stunk of marijuana constantly. The smell was coming into my room. Reported to management they did nothing.

Older hotel but the room was very nice and big with a great view. Perfect for a weekend stay although some amenities and the building were a bit outdated. Did not like the front desk worker.

Room was clean, bed comfortable, water pressure great, and never ending hot water. Cons- Hotel in general looked a bit dated and weather worn. We were disappointed with the slow wifi and glitchy tv. We could also hear the footsteps loud and clear from the floor above. Would we stay again? For the price and location, yes!

The property does not look as advertised in the website, it is need of improvement.

First when i arrived it was 15 min before check in. But i figured I would see if we could check in a little early. There wasa sign saying be back at 3 but there was a lady at the computer so i wasnt quite sure what i should do and she didn't respond to me at all for quite awhile. Then she asked me in an irritated voice if she could help me finally. I said i had a reservation and sje just looked it up and said your room will not be ready until 330 or 4. That was it and she went back to her computer. I had checked in online on the way. So maybe a text saying that would be nice. When i came back to check in i had to fill out all my info agaim that i had already done online so that was a little frustrating because my grandbabies were waiting in the car with my daughter. I thought i was saving time by doing it online. I liked the proximity to tbe ocean. But you cant go in the water there because harmful bacteria. The hotel is very dated. The outside in some places looks like it is falling apart. Part of the hotel was roped off. Maybe they are renovating in. Not sure. The room was dated but comfortable and fairly clean except the bathtub had lots of hair and the carpet was so dirty. If it were not for having grand kids it might not have bothered me so much. But I either had to leep washing their feet or puting clean socks on which would get so black. There is pretty much no cell service. I requested towels and coffee but didnt get it. It could be a really nice place with some wo

Everything was excellent, comfort, view, location, except paper thin walls making normal conversation and laughter in the next room like it was in yours.

They offered free glass of prosecco with purchase of a meal… I didn’t take them up on it, but it was a nice surprise. I checked in ahead of time to cut down on check in time when arriving. Didn’t matter since the same things I gave on advance check in were asked for by the front desk. Unfortunately I could hear some type of motor running outside all night.

Rude ladies at the front desk. Not inclusive for a child on the spectrum. Rundown facilities. No microwave in the rooms. No ice machine on our floor. The key machine was not working.

What I liked about the property was our room had a good bed. I am a heavier person than many and the bed didn't sag. There was a working refrigerator in our room. The room was clean. The room has carpeting so there is some concern about bugs, but we don't think any got into our luggage. We have been to the breakfast restaurant next to the motel and really liked it. There is a microwave oven in the hallway which we used. I thought the motel was a good value.

Hotel is in a great quiet location by the ocean but a little dated. Beds were extremely comfortable and rooms are spacious. Didn’t try the restaurants for dinner or breakfast

Th&is is a great property! There are 3 good restaurants to walk to and the beach access is walking distance. My room had a beautiful view of the ocean.

The room said a sofa bed and robes. Had neither. Extra towels weren’t available after 5. Patio was nice and large. Beds were comfortable.

Great location for surfer watching and a lovely breakfast diner is right outside the hotel

For this reason I highly recommend you reconsidering your stay at this hotel

It was affordable, easy one night stay. Pillows were awful tiny little cubes. Asked for more and got we got two more little cube pillows. Looked as if they’re just opening a hotel inside of an old worn out hotel that needs many improvements.

Reserved a king room, they didn't have it and gave me a double queen room. Something was wrong with the TV and many channels kept pausing. Room was out of conditioner and almost out of tissues. They were working on the balcony upstairs and the debris went all over ours while my husband was on it.

Love our staff

The room was spacious and clean. The hotel itself needs major updating. We were lost as to actual access and location of our room. There are no signs indicating buildings as A,B, and C. We were in building C but could not see how to access the building from our parking spot under the whatever building we had parked. also we had booked and paid through Expedia and provided a credit card but the hotel wanted our home address which was weird. Major repairs are needed at this hotel.

The room was very clean. We actually spent a lot of time in Half Moon Bay and took a ride to Santa Cruz.

Perfect location with a view of the ocean for a reasonable price

The property is directly on the beach. However, when we reserved a view room, we expected to not be seeing trash cans and a roof that needs repair directly below our room. Check in staff was not very friendly, however the check out staff was friendly. The hallways and rooms are good but the overall condition of the property needs serious maintenance. Also, very little signage to find the hotel.

My husband and I come back here every year for anniversary and usually the front desk is not too nice, but there is a nice lady that is up there now and our stay was very pleasant. Our room was very clean and we were very happy. Of course, we will keep coming back here every year that we can.

Quiet area, this is a fairly large hotel. Outside looks a little rough and needs updating, but the rooms were nice. Couple places walkable to restruants. Beach area, views are awesome. Small pool for guest.

After my stay I was charged by the hotel for my stay even though I had pr purchased through hotels.com and even checked in under that reservation…. It’s almost a month later and it still has not been resolved. The customer service has been terrible to resolve the additional charge

The parking garage ceiling needs remodeling. The elevator door does not open properly. A frequent guest informed me that after ten seconds the door usually opens. There are no cameras on property other than the check-in area. The guest i saw looked at me like i was in the wrong place. Once I got to my room, the door was very loose. This property doesn't have cameras on the hotel floors. I reserved a partial ocean view. My actual view was a cocktail and dance establishment and another run down property. I could not believe Wyndham has their name on this property. It's nothing like the pictures on Expedia. I would never recommend this place to anyone.

The view

I rated this place so high because i was so pleasantly surprised by how good it all turned out. From the simplicity of operation of everything, to the spacious feeling in the room. Nice place, and definitely take advantage of the connecting restaurant, the Moonracker

I see people saying this place is run down, but while there is some truth in that.. the place was clean to me. My room was in great shape, the view was incredible, the staff was friendly and kind, it was easy to navigate around, and I had a really pleasant stay.

You can't swim here but the views can't be beat! The restaurant is top notch and reasonably priced. We will stay here again . Property could use updating , beds were comfortable, rooms appeared updated.

We have stayed here at least 25 times through the years. For a Wyndham class hotel and taking it from someone with travel and hospitality professional experience, this was unacceptable and the person left in charge was incompetent and was making up excuses and telling flat out falsities as we spoke. She clearly lacked training.
