I will not be staying at a IGH hotel again, even though I am a member.

Close to Stanford and a great place traveling with kids.
- 5/5
I checked in after 11 pm after working 14 hours Stanford children's hospital. Checked out 6 am . I was impressed with front desk staff. And plan on going g back when I can enjoy this great hotel . I liked everything

Crown Plaza Cabana is our favorite in Palo Alto. The pool, the restaurant and bar are always welcoming.
- 5/5
We love our room though it was too far from the entrance at first but we found a short cut

Bed Nothing

The staff was amazing and very friendly. I think they make the difference. The location was amazing. I stayed almost a week. Everyday the breakfast was the same. Pancake and patatos . Breakfast literally did not have any other proper options. I am not a picky person but it disturbed even me. The rooms are okay but a bit outdated.
- 5/5
Room was clean and spacious. Beds were comfortable. Close to the parks where our son had his soccer tournament. Definitely will come back.
- 5/5
Great hot breakfast
- 5/5
could have used the dinner/hot tub to be open later. Was not told about the options in the pantry next to the desk, saw in the morning upon leaving that having a sandwich was an option or a salad. Would have been nice after a long day of driving/sightseeing
- 5/5

We decided to specifically stay there for the first time because we wanted, firepit, lanai, food, alcohol and a room with a jetted tub!! This is hands down the best jetted tub around! We travel a lot and stay in rooms that only have tubs, lanai, and fire. The staff was sooooo friendly and very helpful. The room was huge and had everything you could want for fabulous comfy stay! We're already re planning a trip just for the hotel.
- 4/5
I liked the hotel. It was comfortable and near the event where we were going to at the Stanford Stadium to watch the BTS Concert. None

This is a very nice hotel. Very clean and staff were friendly. It was really quiet and not loud like other hotels. They did have breakfast but when we checked in the lady didn’t let us know that our reservation didn’t come with breakfast so we at elsewhere. They also charged for parking. The refrigerator didn’t work in the room and the ice maker on our floor wasn’t working. Other than that we enjoyed ourselves. We probably won’t stay here again because of the breakfast and I don’t think we should have to pay extra as some hotels have complementary breakfast for around the same price. They wanted to charge almost $27 for each person.

I don’t like about the breakfast is apart and parking too

I loved the layout of the property. The pool was too cold. The property is big so make sure you ask where the best place to park for your room number.
- 3.5/5
The staff was very friendly. The rooms were nice and clean and the beds were very comfortable. There was a nice big swimming pool with lounge chairs and umbrellas which was really nice. Although there was a jacuzzi the water wasn't hot. It was lukewarm at best and the jets didn't work.

Very old hotel. Needs a wrecking ball. Not a staff issue. Not worth what they are charging. Staff is nice and accommodative they deserve better surroundings.
- 5/5
I loved the bar area
- 4/5
The breakfast was delicious. A good selection of fruit, eggs, meats and bagels. The beds were comfortable. I will say the furniture is really beat up and outdated. The tub is super small. The pool was dirty and full of leaves.

Clean. No telephone in the room. Could not order Room Service. After 3 complaints on three consecutive days, the maintenance person informed that the Room cannot have a Phone. Why did they even rent the room. to us if it was defective? Also, the walls were bare - no art. Looked like a Hospital ward. They did not charge us any less. Terrible experience.
- 3/5
Also, very annoying that there was no mirror above the sink in the bathroom because of the silly shutters which opened out into the bedroom.
- 5/5
Nice and quiet
- 3/5
No body wash in the shower... The body wash container was filled with conditioner or something...
- 2/5
No travel bassinet even though call in advanced and was assured one. AC was out in our room had to get another one
- 5/5
The staff was quite helpful and so friendly. The rooms are a bit old, but extremely quiet and comfortable. Nice large bathroom! Will stay again.
- 2/5
When checked in the room was isolated and plumbing issues in the bathroom and once complained and got it changed the room, hair dryer is old and sticky and the mirror is not working no good janitorial services. No coffee in the room and no creamer
- 2/5
I did eat at the bar and the salmon tacos were good and the staff wonderful and attentive. The ambiance there along with the tired decor everywhere really dragged the place down.
- 5/5
Absolutely loved this hotel! The room was nice and clean and comfortable with a nice view and balcony area! Will definitely be staying again!
- 5/5
Front desk, restaurant, breakfast staff very cordial and knowledgeable
- 3/5
my roon was really cold
- 5/5
Everything was very nice.
- 2/5
The extra room was ice cold. Thinking it just needing the heater turned on I turned it on and waited. The heater only blew cold air no matter how hi I turned it up. Also was checking out of hotel and had the maid go through my items trying to help herself. SHE ASSMUSED i had checked out when I was starting to move items to my car.
- 1/5
Very thin walls and noisy no sleep was had
- 5/5
Yes ,great staff
- 3/5
Also, the hotel was freezing cold and the heat in the room did not work, burnt out light in bathroom. The only great thing about our stay was Sam the bartender! A fantastic mixologist!
- 4/5
Nice front desk staff and plentiful coffee in the AM!
- 2/5
Room was great Expedia needs to either tell the hotel very clearly if customer has paid in advance or provide payment details in the email confirmation. Took 10 minutes to find the receipt due to wifi issues and the hotel explained that Expedia is not clear in their confirmation whether the customer has paid Expedia or if payment needs to be collected. Not the hotels problem
- 3/5
Stay was overall a very good experience that was tarnished by an unexpected room damage charge after checking out. After contacting the front desk, I was told housekeeping reported an iron was missing from the room. I was asked to check my luggage. After confirming I did not have the iron, I was transfered to the housekeeping supervisor's voicemail and have not yet received a response after a day and a second call to reception.
- 1/5
Not
- 1/5
Horrendous. No hot water entire stay! More like a camping trip for $400/night.
- 4/5
Did not have a refrigerator or a microwave in the room
- 1/5
No hot water and the hotel knew about the problem two days before my arrival and never noticed me
- 2/5
I turned up the heat on the thermostat but it didn't work so I had to sleep in a cold room.
- 5/5
Beautiful hotel. Loved it!
- 1/5
The hotel charges whatever they want and it doesn’t match what the app says you will be charged. The rooms are terrible and the front desk wasn’t helpful except for one wonderful lady.
- 4/5
Decent. Beds comfortable, clean, rooms well appointed, easy parking and check in check out. late check out standard which was nice. Pool and Hot Tub were great, Restaurant menu was limited but good and wait staff (the bartender) was super nice. Only reason for the mark down, the ice machine on our floor was broken and the filtered water dispenser didn't work. It felt a little overpriced for what it was but hey it's Palo Alto so probably on par.
- 2/5
Way overpriced
- 4/5
Rooms are worn and dated. Bathroom had remnants of others (hair).
- 5/5
The pool and jacuzzi was amazing
- 1/5
Very very poor stay. A poor reflection on the Crowne plaza brand. Will avoid Crowne plaza hotels is future.
- 3/5
The one thing that’s truly horrible about this place is that there aren’t more elevators! Not having one for guests and staff at the far end is bad bad bad. For gosh sakes take out one room and put one in! Another thing i noticed is how narrow the stairways are and seems like a major safety issue. For older folks this far end is horrible for getting to and from. Great staff!
- 4/5
Older hotel in a convenient location. Room was nice and spacious, but dated. Overall, very convenient and walkable to several restaurants. One star off because of $20 fee for parking. Other hotels in the area don’t charge for parking.
- 3/5
Upon arriving to the property, they had no A0A walk in shower rooms. Available. I was accommodated with a first room floor one twelve close to the entrance. But there was a repetitive buzzing noise that happened in the room.Every fifteen minutes for a minimum of 3-5 minutes. I attempted to unplug items in the room just so I can get a good night's sleep. But it didn't help alleviate it.And the sound kept going throughout the night consistently. And I was actually visiting the property for a funeral. So my sleep was extremely important. But the front desk staff did provide 2 complementary breakfast buffets as a jester, which were mediocre at best.
- 4/5
This is a great hotel. It is a little dated, but it is spotless—so clean! I am a stickler for clean hotels, and I have been often disappointed by high cleanliness ratings, but I love that even though this hotel is somewhat dated, it is super clean. Additionally, there is a lovely area at the back of the hotel to enjoy food or just take a break. The only reason it was not 5 stars is because of the food. I had breakfast and dinner. Breakfast was not worth the price of the buffet. And, I wound up vomiting up my dinner a few hours after eating it. I would not recommend eating on site. There are plenty of options within walking distance. The staff are very friendly!!
- 5/5
Always love it here when the ol lady andni need a break
- 5/5
it was a great hotel. I would stay there again. The staff was friendly in the room was clean.
- 4/5
It’s an aging nice hotel. There are robes and room service but everything feels a bit dated. Not by a lot but just enough to take it from a great hotel to a fine one. Also, the AC isn’t that great so if you run on the warm side bring a fan.
- 5/5
Clean
- 5/5
Clean room, friendly staff. Didn't use hot tub, etc.
- 5/5
Loved my view of the hills, thank you !!!
- 5/5
Wish I had more time to stay and check out the pool. The room was quiet and clean.

Enrico did every job, all other staff members we unhelpful or I knowledge of the job. He needs to run the place!!! His customer service and professionalism was outstanding! Keep Enrico and hire new staff! There were 3 people at the counter when I checked in and all of them passed me me on to someone else until the last guy sighed and was like I guess I’ll help u. Nothing but lazy lazy people! I heard the entire hotel complaining at one point! Not worth the frustration, stay elsewhere!
- 3/5
This hotel's infrastructure was nice a decade or so ago. There are small things today that rub the wrong way. Though there are acres of outdoor parking in a neighborhood with lots of street parking, they charge you $20 for the privilege to park on the premises. If we had known in advance, we might have stayed somewhere else simply because we thought the price was competitive. The in-room coffee machine didn't work. The thermostate wouldn't change from a really cold setting so we had to turn it off. The dining room is open to the main hallway and there was a crowd of kids in line to take the PSAT test passing next to the tables so it felt like we were dining in a bus terminal. Definitely a decline since my first stay here.
- 5/5
Amazing!
- 5/5
Beds were comfortable. Room was clean and spacious. Pool was great.
- 5/5
Beautiful hotel and pool area front desk associate so kind and very nice
- 5/5
Great location, excellent staff!
- 3/5
Once we actually got to our room it was clean and comfy but the AC didn’t work. It said it went down to 60 degrees but only actually got down to 75. And kept turning off so the room was stuffy and we had to keep opening the door to the hallway for airflow.
- 5/5
Quiet and comfortable.
- 4/5
Pool was great, friendly staff, lots of amenities. Gym, restaurant, bar, etc. Convenient neighborhood. Lots of restaurants nearby.
- 5/5
Friendly staff.
- 5/5
Very comfy and cool hotel. Beautiful architecture. restaurant and bar is open late into the night. Really cool pool hot tub area. Super friendly and classy staff. 10/10 would stay here again!
- 4/5
A little run down. Staff are helpful :)
- 5/5
Large room, convenient, nice lobby, good price
- 5/5
The room was clean. I like the fact that they have an on-site restaurant which is convenient for the family and the food is very good.
- 5/5
Check in was fast Hotel is quiet and close to everything we needed (Stanford children’s hospital)
- 5/5
Older property, but well maintained and really nice amenities, including pool, hot tub, restaurant, bar, and good location in Palo Alto.
- 5/5
Good clean rooms
- 5/5
It was wonderful.
- 4/5
Nice pool
- 4/5
The beds were very comfortable, our room had a beautiful view of the pool, the room had a fridge but no microwave, but the hotel does have a microwave in the lobby. The night staff and morning staff were very polite, helpful, and nice. The room does need some TLC, but it was very comfortable to have a restful night.
- 5/5
Very good staff and nice pool area.
- 2/5
After You checkin and find out that you have to pay a unecessary deposit . Not a very friendly staff and , i felt the crowd kind of sketch . Kind of an escort “ environment . Not ever coming Back . Don’t recommend this .

We stayed in this hotel for our daughter’s graduation at Stanford. It’s expensive but we picked this hotel bec we wanted to have a nice stay. It’s ok except for 2 things. One, we waited for abt 30mins just to check-in bec there’s only 1 receptionist (name is Dayana) & she’s dealing with some lady with an issue checking-in (used her mom’s cc to book, mom not w her). So she called her mgr on the phone, talked for a long time, then handed the phone to the lady, who again explained her case to the said mgr. While she’s doing that, instead of Dayana at least greeting us, apologizing to us about the wait, she didn’t say anything to us, as if we’re not there. So we stepped in, tried to ask her if there’s anyone who can help us since we’re just checking in. She just told us it’s only her, no apology or offer to service us first since the other one’s still on d phone. We wouldn’t have minded the wait if she was smiling and offer us at least some water. We drove 9hrs to get there! More minutes went by & the lady was allowed to chk in anyway. Dayana checked her in, disappeared in the back bec the lady requested toiletries. When it’s our turn (still no smile or welcome from her), we gave her our check in info & it only took like 2 mins! Fast fwd, our family’s in our room. There were only 2 towels (we booked for 4). We called CS, asked for 4 more. We were surprised she even asked why 4? Just give em! We felt we weren’t welcome there. Cancelled our dinner reservn there & dined out.
- 5/5
Excellent, as all our stays here have been
- 5/5
Staff was amazing during check in
- 3/5
Hotel room and building was fine. Included breakfast was very good. But we stayed there because the pool looked nice and there were so many dead floating winged ants in the pool it was almost unusable. We reported a flying ant infestation in one of the pool skimmers to the front desk and to their credit somebody took care of it within 24 hrs, but that didn’t reduce the number of dead floaters in the pool, which we found unfortunate. Wouldn’t stay there again.
- 3/5
Hotel is quite old. Decent location. Parking is adequate and only a short walk to lobby. Relative clean.
- 5/5
Good thank you !
- 5/5
Good
- 5/5
I wrote was amazing and the staff was great
- 3/5
Central location
- 5/5
Property seems a bit outdated and run down- but it’s clean and staff did a great job.
- 4/5
Love this retro hotel and have stayed here a few other times. Since my last visit the hotel conditions have not been kept up to date. The lobby, restaurant and bar are in fine condition, but the room was in need of repairs and updating.
- 5/5
Great place. Very nostslgic
- 5/5
The hotel is relatively close to Stanford Campus. The staff are courteous and helpful. The food and cocktails are excellent. The courtyard was beautiful.
- 5/5
My son loved the pool
- 5/5
We enjoyed our stay. We will be back.
- 3/5
It was a pleasant stay.

Great value, comfy beds, excellent customer service and amenities! Allows early check in, always plenty of parking and appreciate the good coffee and tea choices.
- 5/5
The rooms are a little dated but overall the rooms were very clean and so was the property.
- 4/5
Quiet. Nice pool. Weird bathroom set-up
- 4/5
Rooms were quiet, clean and spacious. great layout for the bathroom. Everything new and functioning well.
- 2/5
The stay was not what we were expecting at all. We went valentine’s day weekend in hopes to have a relaxing mini engagement celebration. The hot tub did not work. The pool was not and had not been cleaned it what looked like weeks. We chose this specific stay to enjoy the water and have drinks. We instead stayed in, tried to order room service for over an hour with no one answering. We tried calling for the front desk and after no response for more than 45 min I get a call explaining that there is only one receptionist (for more than 12 hours) and that the kitchen was now closed.
- 5/5
Staff was excellent, check-in was easygoing. Very helpful. The room was clean. Best of all parking was free and plenty of open spaces.
- 5/5
LOVE THE MATTRESS.
- 4/5
room is a good size, clean, good amenities and good location. the one thing that was a little bothersome is that the room is absolutely freezing if the heater is not on. the floors are very cold no matter what. we had to have the heater on the whole time we were there.
- 5/5
great location
- 2/5
They now charge for parking. So, I will stay somewhere else
- 4/5
Very clean and quiet, lot of dining options nearby.
- 4/5
Not fun lugging our bags to check in and being told that we should drive around (although they offered to have someone carry them). Also, getting charged to park there seemed a little off, though staff said, "All the hotels charge for parking." No information offered as to any amenities the hotel had, like an ice machine or vending machines etc. Hmmm. I'd rather stay at a simpler hotel with a free breakfast included.
- 5/5
Breakfast was plentiful with hot entrees as well as continental items. Breakfast was available till 11am on the weekend. We weren't hot on the sausages but the bacon was fine. Only negative would be the sound that travelled through the connecting doors. There were 2 sets of connecting doors in that room, one to the room on the right the other for the one on the left. If we should be in that area again, we would staying there again.
- 5/5
Great
- 4/5
Quiet, nice property
- 5/5
Good bar/restaurant on site
- 1/5
Unhappy with their lack of staff availability and support.
- 4/5
Comfy bed, good shower, clean room, nice on-site restaurant/bar, if I had a complaint it w/b the pillows — too squishy … otherwise a nice place to stay at a reasonable rate
- 1/5
The infrastructure is crumbling. Heater wasn't working in our room. The doors and handles are super tight. Would advise everyone to explore other hotels in this area rather than stay at this hotel.
- 5/5
The staff is excrement and they’re always willing to accommodate us with Stanford hospital rates. We’re extremely happy we found this hotel.
- 4/5
Needs renovation property dated and need of repair.
- 5/5
Staff are always helpful and friendly.
- 3/5
Outdated old hotel
- 5/5
Our 2nd time staying here. Amazing customer service. They really go above and beyond at this hotel. Room & bathroom are very nice and clean. 5 stars to all staff from checking-in to our bartender. Very polite and efficient! Food was amazing too. Very tasteful. Thank you for another amazing experience!
- 5/5
Good place to stay I do recommend it
- 5/5
Christine was fantastic and welcomed us as we checked in. She was friendly and very knowledgeable about the hotel. We signed up for the rewards program and was blessed with complimentary goodie bags.
- 4/5
The putting green needs improvement along with driving range. Dog park fence needs attention and area cleaned of tree debris. Only one elevator was working on a holiday week. Overall had a decent stay.
- 4/5
Was a nice stay for a single night. I would recommend it the price is reasonable.
- 5/5
Good hotel to stay for business trips.
- 5/5
reasonable price and convenient to where I had to be.
- 1/5
I picked it for the jacuzzi by the pool. Most other affordable hotels in the area offered free breakfast, they did not. However, I was willing to fore go the breakfast for the jacuzzi. I paid to much for that place. I could’ve got a comparable room for like $180. The pool was closed & all tore up- a mess. No jacuzzi as marketed. Bartender couldn’t make a lemon drop martini. What I hoped to be a relaxing night - was not. . Also., only one elevator was working. No usb/c plug ins in room. No screen on window. It goes on. 🙄
- 2/5
If you text a front desk for help in night, please expect them respond the next day. And you have to request shampoo separately…
- 4/5
knocked off a star bc the body wash was missing from the bathroom and there was a $38 per night charge for parking when the lot was mostly empty with just a few cars
- 5/5
Sam at the bar was great!!! Personable, professional and efficient! Made my night perfect. Thank you.
- 5/5
We came up to Palo Alto to celebrate my wife's birthday, hook up with friends and clients, and take in the last Stanford Football home game of the season. Great dinner on Friday night at Sundance Steakhouse. Stanford Cardinal came from 14 points down i. The 4th quarter to win on a walk-off field goal to end the game. Saturday night was dinner at Giorgio's in Los Altos in honor of our late friend. The Crowne Plaza was perfect for getting to and from these activities and had all the necessary amenities, including a decent buffet breakfast and a bar for a nightcap. Looking forward to returning when it's warmer.
- 2/5
The stay was fine but the room was a long way from the elevator. Although I had initialed it and it was on the bottom of the hotel.com website, I was surprised to get hit with a $15.00 parking fee. (Higher on the website, it said parking available.)
- 3/5
I came for my birthday weekend. I was very disappointed with the facilities. There was little to no pool side service, the hotel was overrun with other families with children who defecated in the pool and it took the entire afternoon to get the engineering department to deal with the issue. Further I called later to ask for a partial refund because I was unable to use the pool which was the purpose of my stay, but no one returned my call.
- 5/5
Over all great stay thank you
- 4/5
Great location; economical place to stay
- 4/5
Nice property. A little dated but nice.
- 5/5
excellent
- 4/5
Layout was a bit confuring.
- 3/5
Bar and waiter lacked knowledge and over charged us by $50. Bartender said he would comp us for the mistake and charged us anyway. Bar staff supervisor Jose was rude and didn’t help his employees.
- 4/5
Convenient and easy to go to and fro other areas in sf
- 5/5
When visiting Stanford Medical, we always enjoy the pleasant stay at the Crown Plaza. It is a relaxing environment after a long and busy day. Staff are always friendly, warm, and accommodating.
- 5/5
The hotel staff were great! So nice and friendly that you’ll feel welcomed! Add the breakfast— there were options for a variety that certain dietary restrictions can enjoy. Overall a good experience. Thank you!
