Rodeway Inn Phenix City - Columbus

Hotel staff was really friendly! The owner was really friendly and personable. His son was courteous as well. I asked for extra towels and they were accommodating! The room had some new elements. It wasn’t necessarily national chain quality but truly it was nice. It’s a budget price motel but it’s not run down or sketchy. The towels were nice and there were plenty of nice pillows which helps! You could tell that the owner takes pride in his property. We appreciate a budget motel that’s clean with accommodating staff.

The room was clean, the property mediocre, there are no amenities. The breakfast was rotted fruit, cereal with no milk, and Lil Debbie's. No pool. Security was excellent

The inside was very nice! It’s very noisy, couldn’t not rest comfortably because of the noise! People standing in front of my door and window made me very uncomfortable. Ice machine in front of building don’t work.

The staff was very rude with my mother. They did not have clear signs stating there were mandatory cleaning check ins every 3 days and were rude when explaining why they wouldn’t extend the reservation

It was unclear that the hotel used Columbus GA time zone. The hotel alarm clock was set via Phoenix City -CST time zone.

I have never been disappointed. Staff is very friendly , location is perfect and clean. Been coming for 5 years now.

When checking in, the fella at the desk kept talking about no smoking over and over and if you do smoke to go outside (which is understandable) and make sure the room door is closed . He said I don't smoke and I can smell smoke on y'all. He gave us the key and started giving the spill again which was kinda suspicious but ok then. Walked up the stairs and seen 3 steps chipped, broke and wobbly, which I almost fell through one of them... Parking lot had "activity" going on throughout the night and my car alarm went off at one point... Let's fast forward to check out. Go to hand key to the lady at front desk and she said she had to check the room, she left to check the room and came back and said I can't give deposit back because the room smells like smoke, I even smelled it 3 times.. yeahhh ok ( now remember there was never any smoking in room, went outside 2 times and both of which went down to vehicle. Husband looked at her and said so you lied, knew something was up with the way the guy was acting last night...we then called Expedia who called the hotel directly which I was quietly on the line. The lady at front desk told Expedia that she smelled smoke on us when we walked in to check out. Expedia then said I want you to prove to me they smoked in the room. The front desk lady said umm umm I can't but they're not getting their deposit back either way and hung up the line.. see it's not about the lousy $50 they wanted it's the fact of theft by deception

Location and security. The beds and pillows are uncomfortable. Poor cleanliness.

The bed was a bit hard for me.

The pillows and sheets and towels need to be updated sheets are worn-out towels to thin pillows to flat had to put 3 together to sleep comfortably

The ONLY confusing thing was trying to get to the hotel. We missed the side riad the hotel is on and we had to drive to Georgia and turn around(we still have a good laugh about).

We stayed that night only and the next day early we left. We had reserved 4 nights and they only refunded me one night .

This hotel is newly renovated and everything is new, clean, and spacious. I enjoyed my stay.

Room smellled of smoke , tabbaco tar build up on walls, and a pubic hairs in the sink. Front desk person was pleasant and had no issue canceling reservation.

Just to list the things that were wrong: booked a room downstairs and they gave us one upstairs. Going upstairs is a challenge for me since I am handicapped. That air conditioner did not work right. Too hot. Holes in the drapes. Toilet needed a new wax ring every time you used it. It would rock back and forth. Since I was evacuated because of Matthew I needed internet to keep in touch with family. We had no internet for all three nights. Beetle bugs we spent time killing them not a pleasant thing. I should receive a refund for my trouble. Also the man who checked us in did not speak English and each person checking in had to write their name down. He received a call and asked a guy checking in to speak to the person and write down what they said. Horrible experience. You need person on the desk who speaks English. I also went down the next morning and the girl said nothing could be done until Monday.

Hotel is Over priced cable kept cutting out. Front office personnel was nosy when curtains were open. Was clean

I have been in worse hotels. I'd give this place a 1.5 star rating. There were blood stains on the box spring, and on the door jam to the bathroom. The safety rail in the bath tub was broken. There was an iron burn on the carpet but no iron or ironing board. The carpets needed a good vacuuming. Good thing I just needed a place to sleep.
