Reviews
The hotel staff is generally friendly and helpful, but the rooms are often dirty and in disrepair. The location is convenient for some, but others find it sketchy and unsafe.

Bed too soft for my taste
- 5/5
Staff is friendly and professional! Rooms are clean and well maintained. And there’s plenty of parking.
- 1/5
I liked the water pressure. It was mind blowing. I told him what he should do to make the facilities better. And how badly the situation was and the curtains were. And the owner was right there and it it was like through one ear and out the other. I was cleaning up super good to even convince my partner to stay there with me. And their cleaning crew bugged me before checkout time. And it really pissed me the hell off.
- 0.5/5
Location, vending machines had good variety Office staff unfriendly, room smelled bad, floor was dirty, bed was squeaky and sagged badly. I ended up leaving and going to another motel.
- 2/5
The room 101 I requested was on the ground level The bathroom room 101 was not ada. The grab bar by shower was loose on bottom , toilet seat wobbly and exhaust fan did not work. Only stayed in that room 2 nights and moved to another. No refrigerator in 2nd room why not one in all rooms???
- 1/5
The room was outdated. Dirty. Load and lights from out side were to bright.
- 5/5
It met my expectations. No issues but nothing to write home about.
- 0.5/5
Freaked of cigars and tobacco in the non smoking room
- 0.5/5
We stayed here once before, and it was perfectly fine. The location is good. The front desk person Carl was super helpful and nice. This time we tried four different rooms and three of them smelled horrible, from marijuana to spoiled milk. Another room was in complete chaos, with a fan going and upside down mattress for some kind of water damage mitigation. Unable to find an acceptable room, they refunded us our money.
- 1.5/5
A lot. Housekeeping unlocked and stepped into my room numerous times when I was paid for a few more days. Very frustrating!! Front desk calling and telling me that I had to move to a different room, me twice. Blood splatter on the ceiling. Dogs barking, couple with a baby right outside our door one morning shortly after 11 and they stayed out there until 4:30 pm. Awful .
- 3/5
There was a blood splatter on my ceiling directly above my bed. Shower area was not clean. Toilet wasn't clean. There were stray long black hairs in my bed.
- 2.5/5
The staff went above and beyond to help us. I just had a transplant and couldn’t carry much and the office to the maintenance were absolutely amazing to us It isn’t exactly in the best area.
- 2.5/5
Close to OHSU The noise and people not picking up after there dogs!
- 0.5/5
The location The room was disgusting, smelled of cigarette smoke, the towels and linen were filthy, the floor was covered in dirt and the bathroom shower was appalling.
- 1/5
All the staff I encountered were really great--super cool and conversational, but the room was a real disappointment. I walked through the door and walked into a wall of stench. It smelled like wet dogs had vacationed in the room. I usually sleep like a rock, but the stink kept me awake for a while. The shower was also not clean.
- 1/5
Not much Hard to believe they had no soap in the room or on request (they did provide shampoo though). Toilet leaking continually. Noisy neighbors late into the night, a bit dirty, a bit run down. Wifi was intermittent at best and very slow when it did connect.
- 0.5/5
Nothing The cleanliness of the place was horrible. Like staying in a trap house.
- 5/5
Quiet cheap and clean
- 2.5/5
To pay the amount of what customers are paying there was no way to heat or to keep your beverages or food cold
- 3/5
Excellent staff. Good location. Safe, clean. No hair dryer, no shampoo.
- 0.5/5
The location and value Bed bugs and most of the clientele I saw were transient.
- 0.5/5
Nothing - very unacceptable and i left Dirty unsafe
- 4/5
Parking easy to access. Lot's of dogs
- 1/5
It’s just terrible . Not cleaned .. will not go back ever again
- 1/5
They stole my phone, the rooms were as hell, extremely hot and ac not working, customer service hostile
- 4/5
Staff was great checking in. The bathroom lights over the sink did not work at all. It was very dark in the bathroom.
- 2/5
Staff was nice. Location was sketchy. Rooms not the best quality, no refrigerator or microwave, bathrooms outdated showers dirty falling apart.
- 5/5
My favorite spot to stay in Hollywood
- 5/5
Clean room
- 2/5
Very sketchy and unsafe. Bed composed of a box spring only. People screaming until well into the morning.
- 2.5/5
The room was cheap. The room was small and the police patrolled the motel all night.
- 3/5
The shower had no pressure and both the shower and the sink leaked with no way to stop it. I did report that at the end of the stay. Bathroom was super tiny and no place to put anything. Towels super thin and definitely one use only. I try to reuse to save on water. It also turns out that it’s a party hotel for people hooking up and doing party drugs. Found that out from locals once I told them where I was staying. Parties when until 4am often banging up against the wall behind my bed. People walking by and knocking on your door for laughs at 5 and 6 am. Or just people super loud laughing and having fun while they smoked outside their rooms at 4am. And when it says Continental Breakfast, it’s just a coffee marker, dry cereal in a dispenser and milk in a mini fridge. Most of the room had boxed equipment in it. I feel bad for the owners because it seems this is not the clientele any hotel/motel wants. But for the amount we paid the photos and description were extremely misleading and I could have stayed at a Motel 6 and felt safer.
- 5/5
The room was pretty clean considering I've not had the best experiences staying
- 0.5/5
Bathroom was moldy. Doors were full of holes. Floor was sticky. Room smelled of cigarettes and had orange ceiling that was running down the walls. Bed was horrible and dryg addicts frequented outside our door whistling all night.
- 2/5
Some of the staff are good natured genuine and are a good pick for this job. The best parking at the exit area is reserved for employees. Not customers I have a handicap and cannot park in their "reserved handicap" spots even if my room is literally right there in front of those spots. Seems that employees can park in any number of spots. To take the best ones seems to say to everyone "we are more important than you". In addition will not clean your room unless you deliberately ask them to I was there over 3 weeks never once cleaned my room. I work 2nd shift 12pm till 12:30am. Only stop to ask if I'm going to pay.
- 1/5
Tv kept cutting off, no picture. Sometimes wouldn't change the channel or slow down at least. Couldn't get into your vehicle when it was raining without getting your shoes and socks drenched. The engineering of water flow in the parking lot couldn't be worse, especially the handicap spot in front of the office. 6" of water in a puddle over the width of a vehicle. Black mold on the tiles in the handicap rooms. Handicap room, bathroom door will not open all the way because it hits the bed. ADA regulations are abused. The bathroom floor is slicker than ice when wet.
- 4/5
Was what we expected. Room was clean.
- 3/5
Hopjacks next door is a big plus as is the Afgan restaurant across the street.
- 3/5
Had to complain to front desk because of partying in room next door with outside activity also! Room upstairs had to be reported for excessive noise! Vehicles were being worked on in front of room which is against motel rules !
- 1/5
Police were called for a distressed neighbor. I was charged twice for a stay that was barely even a nap because I wanted to leave so bad.
- 4/5
Good price
- 1/5
Room was disgusting and wreaked of smoke - not just a little, but extremely noxious cigarette smoke smell.
- 2/5
Overpriced. No microwave in rooms. Not the cleanest rooms. Stayed in nicer Motel 6s.Not sure why its a later checkin & earlier checkout now. Its terribly inconvenient. It used to be at least a 24 hr stay or more not 1/2 day or less.
- 3/5
As far as the room and the location goes, I like it. And the woman who checked me in remembered me from the last time I was there and was very nice. It's my 4th time staying there and unfortunately the comfort wasn't as good this time due to the people in the room above me that moved furniture around ALL night and allowed their young kids to run back and forth on the balcony above. It was just a bit annoying. Maybe next time will be better.
- 1/5
Very sketchy area, front desk wasn’t friendly and wouldn’t even let us check in the night of arrival.
- 4/5
It was on the sink was cracked
- 5/5
Clean and safe
- 1/5
Room smelt of cigarettes and was definitely not clean
- 2/5
No microwavek1
- 2/5
I think you guys need to take the surrounding properties east and west and remove the mud and grass spots and apply asphalt.
- 1/5
The key coder didn’t work, so I could only access my room with the on-site worker letting me in. Television was broken, and WiFi was so slow I couldn’t load my email, much less work. Shower head was leaking. On my last night, a worker had an altercation with an unhoused woman outside my room that went on for some time — lots of swearing and screaming.
- 3/5
Stain on the ceiling. Smelt like an ash tray. Staff was ok. Parking was ok. Heating was noisy.
- 3/5
Staff were great! Room was a bit run down and the tv didn’t work.
- 3/5
Parking is easy. Sheets were clean but stained.
- 3/5
There were 3 dark hairs on one of the towels in the bathroom. That was gross. Other than that, the place was totally fine for an overnight stay.
- 4/5
Staff was very nice
- 4/5
Convenient location, room clean, property quite despite being in the middle of the city
- 1/5
Disgusting!! I was welcomed by two cockroaches upon arrival! The room was smaller than my bathroom at my two bed room apartment! The bathroom ceiling was caving in and moldy! The bath tub was black and the floor was moldy as well! I wouldn’t dare sleep there! Checked out as soon as I checked in.. the room reeked of cigarette smoke even though the lady at the front desk insisted that the room was smoke free she didn’t even offer to change the room!
- 2/5
The room was ok the tv didn't work tjr shower wss dirty when i called about the tv nothing was done.
- 4/5
Everything was satisfactory with the room with the exception of only having towels for one shower, so I had to go find the maid to ask for another set of towels
- 3/5
Very basic room. Came with soap but no shampoo. AC was standard wall mounted unit.
- 5/5
Great time and service fto me and mine
- 3/5
Not enough room given on both sides of the bed (a room for two?). Mattress was lined up with headboard, yet against the wall. Move the headboard?
- 5/5
Parking was good safe
- 3/5
Yes, kind of
- 4/5
The parking lot was safe. TV's remote was new and very easy to use. Had single closed captioning button without having to go through eight steps of settings screens.
- 2/5
Had a handicap room. When you shower water goes all over entire room which makes floors extremely dangerous if you use a cane
- 3/5
We were there for a week as family member was hospitalized at OHSU. Access to hospital was easy and 15 min away.
- 3/5
Affordable, Room was clean, staff was nice, and a good brewery next door
- 3/5
Main light didn’t work, there were ants, nearly a two inch gap between door and floor so heard everything
- 3/5
Poor area full of homeless other people that they were stay here not respect others at 3 am 4 am fighting, talking loud no one cares about nothing at arrival bed was super dirty the matress sheet was terebile not clean at all not recomended at all
- 1/5
The room smell like an ashtray, is very noisy, I would not recommend this Motel.
- 1/5
They checked me in but told us we couldnt both staay and wouldnt cncel my room. Charged me anyways. It was super messed up. Ive never had such terrible service from motel 6. Im going to write reviews on yelp googlend facebook. Im also contacting better buisness bureau since i cnt seem to get anyone to reply to me or call me back
- 5/5
Staff is wonderful
- 5/5
The staff, the room... everything was fine... my only issue was some knucklehead was outside my door at 1am talking very loudly on his phone.
- 4/5
Everything good!
- 5/5
The only problematic thing about the room was the mattress slid around on the platform bed frame. It was just me & I'm small, but it still moved around quite a bit. With 2 people, it would be a PITA. The room was clean & smelled nice. It was fresh looking & modern. Everything was clean & tidy. The staff that checked me in was just fantastic & so friendly. They knew I was disabled & checked to make sure I didn't need further accommodation. I just stayed the night prior to my early morning surgery & it was a totally peaceful experience. Thank you so much. Can recommend & would stay again.
- 1/5
The room absolutely reeked of pot smoke and stale cigarettes. The AC was vandalized. Car alarms and drug use right outside our window, and suspected prostitution in the parking lot and nearby room. The shower pressure and temperature were decent, so that's something I guess.
- 5/5
Great staff
- 2/5
Dirty, very uncomfortable bed. Security guy turned on his car alarm every 3 minutes.
- 5/5
The front desk personel are always very kind and helpful. They call me by my first name and make me feel as they truly enjoy my company.
- 4/5
Make sure to ask for shampoo, they don't provide unless you ask. You get 1 bar of soap.
- 1/5
The receptionist was behind a bullet proof glass wall. Need I say more
- 5/5
Quite
- 2/5
The room was dirty. There was hair all over the bathroom sink and the shower. There was a huge spider and spiderweb by the TV. The bed felt uncomfortable. The property itself was not well maintained. There was a huge pile of feces in the middle of the parking lot when we were leaving that everyone kept driving over and spreading. Overall would not stay here again. It’s affordable but that’s it.
- 5/5
Great front desk staff and super sweet room service ladies! Love!
- 5/5
Best staff work here. They are always the nicest!
- 5/5
Staff is always so nice. They are the sweetest!
- 1/5
Unfortunately, we’ve had to limit access to the building due to the environment staff creates here. This is not only an unsafe environment for families, but it is an accident waiting to happen!! Due to miscommunication among staff members in regard to room service we were left without toilet paper or access to proper amenities such as “laundry and housekeeping”. I have never experienced a stay like this at Motel 6 in my life. I cannot even get a room with a fridge/freezer to properly store milk bags. I have asked, time and time again to get the same answer. Which is nothing. The lady’s at the front desk talk and sit around while everybody else does the work and Brenda cannot do it all by herself.
- 4/5
They are pretty chill here. Don't ask alot if questions which is nice.. Easy check in. I stayed a week here and after day 3 of no new linens or towels I had to chase down a housekeeper to get some and in return got a snarky reaction. No more towels the rest of the week after. Phone didn't work and my husband needed it cause he left his phone in the car which i was driving.. The front desk said they would send someone to fix it right away and he could not use front desk phone. nobody ever came. Other than that it's alright. It's cheap, you get what you pay for.
- 4/5
Non smoking rooms still reaked of smoke. The receptionist was very helpful to help locate rooms we were comfortable in.
- 1/5
My room was stopped up with a dirty toilet for 2 days after I asked them to fix it and then I wrote a review for the lady because she said she'd switch my room if I gave her a good review so I did and then she put me in that one and the TV didn't work and curtains didn't shut so everybody could see me laying in my bed that's right in front of the window
- 5/5
If it weren't convenient for visiting, I would stay somewhere else. Very iffy clientele.
- 1/5
They only changed the linens. They didn't even attempt to clean the room: all the surfaces had something questionable, sticky or dingy; they didn't move the trash cans to sweep so there was lots of hair and dirt; shower was scummy and black; floor hadn't been mopped in a long time; identified 3 different bug species. I let my 1 year old crawl for 5 minutes and had to wash the black off her knees, feet and hands. Ice bucket smelled like spoiled milk. Sink wouldn't drain.
- 2/5
My sheets had a burn hole in them.
- 1/5
Area is quiet and seems to be safe. But room is too small for double bed, mattress is so uncomfortable even make loud noise when you moved around, comforter is dirty looks like it's haven't been washed for sometimes.
- 1/5
I gave you my review. It was my opinion, as all reviews are opinions. My opinion also held several facts. I did it without using profanity, and the other criteria listed that you did not want the tenants to share. Therefore, I am not going to change it.
- 3/5
Its a cheap motel 6, we didnt expect luxury, we got what we paid for. The sheets were stained but they happily replaced them quickly and the staff was friendly. The tables and floors were a bit dirty but not absolutely disgusting.
- 3/5
Geeat Value reasonable clean excellent staff
- 3/5
None
- 4/5
Clean room friendly staff best price around
- 4/5
Surprised to get a smoking room. But other than that, clean and comfortable in a gois location. Check-in staff was friendly and service oriented. Very good for a budget hotel.
- 5/5
Great option for sole traveler. Comfortable and nice.
- 3/5
The staff were really great. The walls were thin and neighboring guests were boisterous. The overall clientele seemed to perhaps be longer term residents - houselessness transition project? Not our scene. When we left my 13-year-old said, "yeah, that place was sketch." When I asked her what made it sketch, she said,"the people."
- 5/5
Quick and easy
- 1/5
No shampoo, looks like there is human trafficking here but am not sure. Could hear a lot of interesting activities on the room above me, would not let me sleep. And someone involved in that activity, had a loud sounding car in the parking lot and would rev up the car when parked and speed out of the parking lot like 5 times in the middle of the night, not allowing me to sleep. I was very tempted to call the police because there was a lot of suspicious people and activity going on. I lost a lot of respect for Motel 6 and will never stay at one again
- 3/5
The faucet in the bathroom was not working properly.
- 3/5
Room smelled like urine upon entering. I got used to it, but wasn't ideal. Definitely not the best conditions for $100 a night.
- 4/5
I mean, I didn't pick the motel six for the experience. Was just okay, pretty rough neighborhood but we're from Portland and knew all that going in! Totally decent and the ladies at the desk were helpful.
- 2/5
Black mold on the ceiling of our bathroom and brown stains down the walls
- 4/5
Pretty okay for a night stay. Lots of gomeless around the building and an active drug deal happened outaide our unit.
- 1/5
Room right next to an office. Noisy from the office and parking lot.
- 2/5
Full of homeless people, no fridge in the room while in the add says room with a fridge
- 2/5
Smell dirty and smelled like an Ash Tray
- 2/5
A non smoking room that smelled smokey. Long term guest above who were "bouncy"noisy at 12:30 am one night and at 5:30am on another.
- 1/5
Very sketchy area. Would have changed locations if I had more time.
- 3/5
The front desk resolved a problem with the room the next day.
- 2/5
This was a smoking room turned into non smoking. Still smell bad. I was too tired to switch the room so I slept and got out as early as possible
- 4/5
Convenient location to event attending. Service by Marie was top notch!!
- 5/5
Good
- 1/5
I've been trying to get a hold of them I reserve the room that I thought was for the 31st but it was I tried to call for a refund nothing said I would at least have liked to call back for acknowledgment of the money they got for free
- 1/5
This was the worst hotel I think I have ever stayed in.For what we paid I at minimum expected a clean room. The room was disgusting.Non smoking room smelled like a smoker had lived in there for months. It was so bad we had to wash every item we took into the room to get the ash try smell off. The floors were dirty, A/C didn’t work and had food in it, not even shampoo in the room, and the front door didn’t seal at the bottom. People honking in the parking lot at 2 am, diesel truck checking in at 3 with the engine running for 30 min and yelling from other rooms. If you want to get any sleep or not smell like a nasty cigarette butt, stay else where. We had to cut our weekend short because all of our clothes smelled so bad.
- 5/5
I’d never stayed at a motel in Portland and it was a pretty clean MOTEL 6 compared to some of them that I have stayed at
- 3/5
Too noisy around complex. Doesn’t have microwave or mini fridge if you need that.
- 3/5
Stayed at this hotel while doing clinicals for school. The room I had had a smell when first entering. There was a gap at the bottom of the door. I was only there to sleep so it was an okay stay.
- 5/5
C
- 1/5
They removed my belongings with out notifying me when they had my phone #
- 1/5
This is the worst motel ever and I would never stay here. They are honored there when you have a reservation they give it away to somebody else.
- 5/5
It was just a little more rundown and shabby than what I usually get with motel six with very few exceptions. Ironically, when we moved to Portland in 1964 it was actually six dollars! Lol and the same McDonald’s hamburgers was across the street where it still is and the burgers were $.19
- 3/5
Negatives: Upon check-in I asked for an upper stairs corner room, if available. She said rooms are pre-assigned & fully booked. This was sun-thurs in the middle of winter, the dead season. The room was out front, ground level, right next to the ADA rooms which meant parking was a bit away. The room had a strong Smoky smell even though I requested a non-smoking room. Basic room - no fridge or microwave. The card key kept losing memory, so I had go to the office daily to reset it. Positives: Hot water was instant at both sink & shower. Heat worked good. Bed was comfortable. Sheets & towels were clean. No noise issues. All communication with the staff after the check-in was positive.
- 4/5
I did a lot of calling around and this seems to be the only place in town that is inexpensive but nice enough. There are cheaper options in town, but those are all grimey and buggy. Motel 6-central is cheaper than the other 6's in town. If yr also trying to find a deal, this was the best I could find, so I'd recommended them. Very cozy and clean.
- 1/5
The lobby door was missing all of its glass. They had anoyher patron who ser their car alarm off all through the night. It went off more than 20 times. Last was around 1AM. We asked the office to do something, didnt help. The shower floods onto the bathroom floor. The bathroom sink took 45 minutes to drain and then the sink was fullbof nasty stuff afterwards. Garbage spilling out of trash cans everywhere.
- 3/5
We had some issues with the wall light switches not wanting to work and the bathroom door splitting in half, also the shower seemingly had paint all over the floor but drained fine and had good water pressure. The only concern: At one point the front desk called me and let me know someone who was not a guest was attempting to break into my vehicle, but the on-site security removed them from the property and the police were called. Thankfully my vehicle was not damaged. I would not leave any valuables in a vehicle during a stay here but the staff keep an eye out and there are security cameras all over the property, and the parking lot is well lit. I’m very thankful this was the only incident worth mentioning. A perfectly okay if a little worn out choice. You could do a lot worse.
- 5/5
We always stay here when in Portland.
- 5/5
Don't bother you , very nice about check ins and check outs
- 3/5
Found a lot of hair at the bottom of shower stall before i took a shower. Shower curtain to short making the floor wet and slippy even with towel on the floor to absorb the water.
- 4/5
Looking better all the time
- 5/5
Release meet updated
- 3/5
WiFi is horrible
- 4/5
Changes all the time
- 2/5
All in all, a solid 2 stars. You could do a lot worse, even if there’s a lot to improve on. The property does have a pool but it wasn’t open during our stay.
- 5/5
Could use some spirit
- 1/5
Nothing
- 3/5
It smelled bad like smoke etc. I couldnt get the tv remote to work. Sketchy people hanging around. Didnt give me a real good feeling about safety.
- 4/5
Very convenient and affordable
- 1/5
I found cigarettes in the bathroom and the television control needed batteries.
- 2/5
Only one TP roll (really?) - had to go to office for more. Internet either slow or useless. TV indicated Netflix but didn’t have it. Absolutely no extras of any kind (coffee, microwave etc) Huge puddle in the driveway.
- 5/5
Surprisingly clean n remodeled . Would definitely stay here again
- 1/5
Really awful. No soap or toilet paper not just in the room but the front desk says they don't have any either. Burn marks on every surface with a plastic bag over the smoke detector. People running around the property yelling at each other at 2 am even though there's armed security? Like holy s*** unbelievably bad 0/10
- 4/5
Very helpful and friendly staff. Would stay here again!
- 1/5
The bottom of the shower was gross and in desperate need of resurfacing. There’s evidence of homeless person living by their trash can. Management wasn’t honest about whose policy it is for no refunds if you leave early.
- 3/5
Bad energy, loud, beds were like cardboard.
- 2/5
Internet didn't work! That was the biggie. Thank you.
- 3/5
We love staying at motel 6 because theyre generally really cheap and we only really need a place to sleep for the night. We did pay for a room with a refrigerator but didnt realize there wasnt one until we already unpacked. There was also people outside from around 1:00am to 4:30am being REALLY loud. But the lady in the office did call and check on us and was really kind. We would stay again because of how close it is to the alladin theater.
- 5/5
Nothing fancy but super easy all around.
- 5/5
As a solo traveler I didn’t appreciate the random guy knocking and talking to me through the room window upon settling into my room, but it happens. If you’re traveling solo keep your wits and always be aware of your surroundings.
- 5/5
I am so happy with service and with the property
- 1/5
Staff was very nice and helpful but the area was very unsafe. Rooms smelled very heavy of cigarette and the beds themselves were stained
- 1/5
Tv don't work
- 5/5
Thank you
- 1/5
Dried boogers and blood on walls the door conecting to next room didnt even lock they had it tied shut the lock just went in circles
- 2/5
The property was ok, for the money I spent. But the bed was awful. The springs where totally worn-out on one side. Can't believe they still make people use it.
- 3/5
Convenient location to 24 hour Plaid Pantry store
- 2/5
Was chanced a refundable of 75.00 and have not received it back. There was no coffee and the room was okay.
- 5/5
Clean room. Delightful staff.
- 2/5
The staff were very helpful. But the area around my room and the small area of carpet in my room reeked of urine
- 5/5
Room very clean and tidy lots of towels roomy quiet very friendly and helpful staff! I would highly recommend this for your stay!
- 1/5
They should really view the reservation yo make sure the customer is not disable or requesting and ADA room. Furthermore not following ADA guidelines is against federal law. So a bit of a warning Brenda the property can be sued and well you can be also.
