Breakfast was barely any and you have to request for your room to be cleaned
- 4/5
Nice hotel a tad aged and nothing fancy but you can’t beat the location to PSU and easy access to riverfront areas. Parking was $13/night. The pool was nice the room was larger than expected. We would stay there again
- 5/5
The staff, especially the manager, was exceptional!
- 4.5/5
Superb
- 5/5
Good place with good price
- 2.5/5
Easy to navigate, looked good from the outside and the lobby was nice too. The rooms are SUPER outdated. Both of the hotel rooms I stayed in had hairs in the shower/tub. These were the most uncomfortable hotel beds I've ever slept on, feels like wooden planks on springs...
- 5/5
Very clean, staff were very pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was good. For me the bed was too soft. But it was clean and smelled good.
- 1/5
Best to avoid. I'm shocked they show an 8.0 rating on Expedia, which fooled me into booking here. Toilet was broken. Lights out and poorly maintained. Super dated and unfriendly staff.
- 2/5
Not a good place to stay.

- 5/5
The room was clean. All staff I encountered were very friendly and helpful. It was very quiet there for the night I stayed. The breakfast was as good as any hotel that included a breakfast. The room for breakfast was very large with lots of tables and chairs. The different breakfast options were spread out so it was easy to get what I wanted to eat without feeling crowded. Air conditioning was good and kept me comfortable all night long. I felt safe and secure there. The cost of the hotel and parking was way cheaper than other hotels in the area. I would definitely stay there again.
- 4/5
Let us in early due to my husband having surgical procedure. Very considerate!
- 3/5
Poor breakfast Clean and nice staff
- 3/5
I give this stay a C. Staff was nice. But property itself was a bit worn.

Nice experience overall. Fast serivice, quiet, relaxing. Nice pool. Good people at the front desk. Decent breakfast spread

Breakfast
- 5/5
Room was very clean and well stocked. Breakfast was sufficient. Will stay again.
- 3/5
The first time I stayed at this hotel, everything was great - The staff, breakfast and comfortable. This second stay the staff were kind and greeted us upon entry, but the towels were not all that clean (they had hair on them) and when we went to check out staff were a little rude. Those were the only downfalls.
- 4/5
The room was comfortable and the staff was nice. It was conveniently located near OHSU. Would be 5 stars but we found a little bit of trash around the room upon check in that made us concerned (pre-op cleanliness instructions made me more wary than normal) but still not enough to actually bring it up bc I was exhausted and just needed to get to sleep. I’m sure they would have done something if given the opportunity. Overall a good and convenient place to stay with above average parking accommodations for the area.
- 4/5
There was some dog's food on the floor. And the window was so thin that we could hear outside noise directly like the door open. But except these, it was good.
- 4/5
Excellent staff Shawer water pressure was very bad, I have to stand in the shawer for a long time to bathe. I understand, we need to save water but long shawer is a waste of water.
- 1.5/5
I wasn’t happy with the room that we got put in, it was all the way on the other side of the building and we were unable to get in on that side because they had it locked so we had to travel extra to bring our stuff up from the car instead of it being easily accessible. Our refrigerator did not keep things cold.
- 1.5/5
Located next to the PDX with a food truck corner across the street outdated room, poor breakfast, water pressure issue. Could barely take a shower with the water flow from shower head.

Very good
- 4/5
Cute but very dated. Parts of the room needed small repairs. Bath tub didn't drain well. Smelled clean and staff were kind though. Proximity to OHSU was ideal for our visit.
- 2.5/5
The pool, the dining area, the glass hallway The cleanliness, the smell, old building, the room was small

Good hotel for Family stay, price is quite decent for the facilities provided
- 5/5
Room was very clean and AC worked great! They had a pool but I did not use, they had breakfast but I had to check out beforehand. Customer service was great nonetheless!
- 5/5
Clean room. Professional, friendly staff.
- 4.5/5
It was quiet. The location is central to my needs in the area. I enjoyed the continental breakfast each morning. The TV in my room was broken. Despite multiple notifications, no one came to fix it prior to my checking out.
- 5/5
Staff very helpful, we even did our laundry there.
- 5/5
Everything was great. The pool was open. The breakfast had something to please everyone including protein! The neighborhood is lively, Portland is lovely. We will be back.
- 5/5
We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights and overall we were very satisfied with our stay. Considering the price we paid, it was definitely worth it. The room was clean, the staff were friendly, and the location was convenient. We had a comfortable experience
- 4/5
Great location..easy access to public transportation. Fridge & microwave in room was a plus. Breakfast was good but more hot food such as bacon & sausage would’ve been great.

- 5/5
Staff was very nice, the room was clean and it was a convenient area for us to visit Doernbecher Children's Hospital!
- 5/5
The continental breakfast was good, but not overwhelmingly fancy. The staff was very helpful and told me where to go for dinner. There are food trucks 2 blocks away.
- 5/5
Clean room
- 4/5
Room was clean. The breakfast is ok. They have waffles and oatmeal as the only hot foods. You have to pay to park if you bring your own vehicle.
- 5/5
Always a easure
- 5/5
From check in to check out the staff were friendly and helpful. Very welcoming the room was clean and comfortable. We will be back
- 5/5
Clean breakfast area, nice big bathroom. Long hairs in the bed and bathroom though. Tv had no sound.
- 3/5
The breakfast here is really bad; room is clean and staff is nice, air condition work alright
- 5/5
Staff were very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our stay!
- 3/5
The room was very clean. Plenty of towels. Plenty of parking. Hard to find my way around. Pool was green but it’s off season- but it could have been cleaned up a bit. Property seemed a bit run down. But was cheaper and only $13 to park where most hotels downtown wanted 36-52. Room had tile floor. Felt much cleaner than carpet. Free continental breakfast basic but fine, waffles, bagels, hard boiled eggs, yogurt and lots of bread. Fine for the price. Close to the hospital.
- 5/5
the staff were friendly, everything was nice i felt safe and happy while staying. thank you for making it a comfortable stay
- 5/5
Nice room. Great location near public transit. Close to PSU and the waterfront
- 5/5
Very clean room, nice linens, quiet, great breakfast, excellent location, very good price. Would stay again & recommend to others.
- 5/5
Excellent price, decent continental breakfast, inexpensive parking. A number of food trucks are a short walk away. A low-frills hotel for travelers just looking for a place to sleep.
- 3/5
Room was just ok. Black staining on the bathroom mirror and food on the ground that wasn't vacuumed from previous occupants. Staff was awesome. Lobby was really clean. As soon as you lerave the elevator you are transported back to the 70's with the carpet and walls. Damp smell from the ice machines.
- 5/5
Very nice place to stay for long weekend.
- 5/5
Overall room was great and clean, loved the soft pillows. Not a lot of breakfast choices however, but great area and easy check in and friendly staff
- 1/5
All in all, they violated my ADA.
- 2/5
Check in person was nice, he didn’t explain anything about the hotel at all, no breakfast hours, wifi or anything, he just asked me if we had a car, gave us the keys and that was it, he didn’t even say where the elevator was or anything, it was a very brief check in, it was a bit disappointing to say the least. We stayed Friday and Saturday night, Friday was fine, Saturday night we had very loud neighbors next door, we called the front desk to let them know, this was after midnight since we got back around 12:15am from being out and about. The front desk clerk said he was gonna send someone to check on that, I don’t think that happened because they continued all night til about 6am, sounded like there were several people in the room partying, we called again and then just gave up and eventually fell asleep to be awoken again several times, they were being intimate very loudly, I think the beds in the rooms are side by side because our wall was continuously banging non stop, I stopped at the front desk at check out, the front desk girl was very nice but didn’t offer anything or even apologized, she just said she saw on the notes that someone had called in to report it. I wasn’t expecting anything adjusted, it just seems like the employees don’t really engage with guests on a deeper level. Breakfast was very limited, we didn’t eat there as there were no tables available. We probably won’t stay there again in the future. This place is in a great location.
- 4/5
Breakfast line was to long. Didn’t even bother going.
- 5/5
Great place for family’s
- 3/5
Outdated. Little run down. They cleaned the carpets and the odor was strong. Bonus. We knew the carpets were clean. Next to the train. Close to downtown and the University
- 5/5
Our stay was good
- 3/5
More attention to cleaning is needed.
- 5/5
Great place to stay! Great location. Pet friendly. Easy parking. Free continental breakfast. Quality and affordability.
- 5/5
Not many amenities but staff are very friendly very convenient location
- 5/5
It was very convenient for our appointment at OHSU
- 2/5
The manager asked if I was going to have a party when I checked in,I was by myself. I said no. I woke up to a full blown party in the next room at 1am in the morning. Loud music, people yelling and running down the hall. Called and complained. Left next morning. Never got my refund.
- 4/5
Parking : Not Free Sound Proof : Not that great but okay, at the room I stayed at, and kinda sucks that they clean early because you can hear it
- 1/5
The outlets were in the wrong locations, and not enough of them, a lamp didn’t work and was unstable, the microwave was old as hell, most of the buttons on the remote didn’t work so I had to use the tv itself, the mattress was way too soft, low water pressure in the bathroom, the breakfast was a joke, the front desk staff didn’t know anything. The elevator was old as hell and small and very worn. The whole hotel needs to be remodeled and the walls are thin
- 2/5
While booking it shows that pool is available and next day when we there they said it is closed for maintenance till Memorial Day. Kids were excited for the pool and now imagine how disappointed they were. They should clearly mentioned it, so that we could go for another hotel.Worst experience with the dine in staff as well as he was so rude during breakfast buffet. His word sounds like we are eating for free. So much disrespect.
- 5/5
Lucas and matthew take good care of me for breakfast in the morning.
- 3/5
great location and decent place to stay.
- 4/5
I liked the lay out and the very 80's aesthetic.
- 4/5
Room is very clean and the staffs are very friendly and helpful. Bed is very comfortable, too! Light rail station is just right in front of the hotel door. The room can hear the traffic noice outside though.
- 5/5
Everything in room was clean and breakfast was good and fresh. I would stay again another time.
- 5/5
Nice room and set up
- 4/5
Good and bad at this hotel. The room was okay, but needed work. The carpet had stains, the TV had major problems, the sink faucet was tricky and the bed was rock hard. To the good side, I liked the pillows, extra blankets on hand, the breakfast was ordinary, but well presented and fine, lots of places to eat close by, lighting was good, felt safe. Over all, for the price, I would stay again if I needed to be in that area.
- 4/5
They do charge $13 a night for parking and there is a $75 deposit for the room.
- 5/5
Room was clean and looks to have had a fresh remodel. The king bed was soooo comfortable, like sleeping on a cloud. It was quiet- no neighbor noise, no road noise, no train noise. The staff are extremely friendly.
- 5/5
The room was clean good AC the staff was great and good breakfast!
- 4/5
It’s go
- 5/5
Everything was fresh staff very nice ac worked good
- 2/5
In the room the curtain was right above heater/ac which seems like a fire hazard and we couldn't pull it away
- 2/5
And their breakfast is another big disappointment. It's a cold breakfast. They charge so much, at least they can serve fresh hot breakfast. We felt like we were ripped off.
- 5/5
Great location with friendly staffing and nearby public transportation
- 4/5
Location is good. Breakfast was not much, not sure if they reduce quantities on weekdays, perhaps. Bathtub was not fully clean. This is the second time I stay here, I would again as long as it is no longer than 2 nights and I just need a place to sleep.
- 3/5
Hotel needs updated in hall way The roof in room was water stained and smelled
- 3/5
The breakfast was a bit underwhelming but not terrible. Waffles and cold cereal.
- 5/5
Variety of options for breakfast, staff were very polite and helpful
- 3/5
Not to much to the place.
- 4/5
The breakfast and coffee was the best part for sure. Great selection. Fresh fruit and other healthy options beyond the standard cheap hotel processed foods. And locally roasted coffee was great for a budget hotel
- 5/5
I often stay at this hotel when I come to Portland as the value and location are excellent. Reasonably priced room, clean and tidy, good breakfast, friendly staff and quick access to downtown and the freeway.
- 4/5
Clean room
- 4/5
Stop all the dumb rules
- 5/5
Good location and excellent customer service. The rooms were comfortable. I wish they had down pillows and better soap.
- 4/5
Affordable and friendly staffs
- 5/5
Excellent place to stay when we need to go to OHSU.
- 5/5
Great hotel overlooking downtown and the riverfront.
- 3/5
The only hot option for continental breakfast is waffles. There is a parking fee. Continental breakfast should always include a hot protien and parking for paying guests at the hotel should always be included. Hotel was clean. Staff were friendly. Close to public transit.
- 1/5
horrible
- 4/5
Clean room, pretty good breakfast. Nice to be able to stay in the same place as the conference. The gym waws tiny and not well equipped but nobody else was there so it worked out.
- 5/5
Nice clean room. Friendly staff and great location.
- 2/5
Room
- 2/5
The hotel has some drawbacks that affected my stay. You have to pay for parking, which feels inconvenient and adds to the overall cost. They also don’t offer complimentary toothbrushes or toothpaste, which is disappointing since most hotels provide basic toiletries. These issues made the stay less convenient than expected.
- 4/5
Great location, clean rooms, interesting layout, and good continental breakfast.
- 4/5
The room was nice, but dated. The bed was super comfortable. The walls are very thin. We could hear the next room at 4am just chatting away. Breakfast was great for quick bite. The front desk staff didn’t really acknowledge the guests.
- 2/5
Room was old with cheap furnishings
- 5/5
Good job guys!
- 3/5
Lost/left item behind, took to long to recover
- 5/5
Energetic
- 4/5
Bed was comfy room was extremely out dated
- 2/5
2. Parking for additional fee.
- 4/5
Staff was awesome! Place was nice!
- 3/5
The room was clean but not many amenities. tiny fridge no freezer. Reminded me of a motel 6 if I’m being honest I guess I was just a little surprised and the breakfast was not what I expected either it’s a huge eating area you would think they would have hot foods but it was just quick items no hot meat or eggs. Probably won’t be coming back unfortunately.
- 5/5
Good vibes
- 1/5
The front desk staff was incompetent and extremely slow. The hotel parking is a rip off. The parking lot has signs everywhere stating that you need to pay at the kiosk for parking. I paid at the kiosk, and then the hotel desk made me pay again because the parking kiosk parking ended at midnight. The hotel lobby had a mass of ants near the seating area. The one bed in the room was so bad that I could not sleep on it. When I tried to lay on it, it literally sunk in such a way that is shoved me off the bed, My son and I ended up having to share the other not so comfortable bed, so that I could get a little sleep. The breakfast at the hotel was limited with the only hot items being make your own waffles and bagel or toast. The person who was running the dining room was the only bright spot during breakfast. They were very on top of keeping the dining room clean and the breakfast area stocked.
- 5/5
Wasn’t a fancy place, but folks were nice and the room was clean, though dated. Good price honestly
- 4/5
Clean, staff, amenities
- 3/5
Location is great. I have stayed at this hotel every year for about 10 years. The place is starting to look a bit shabby and needs some attention/updates. Breakfast was handy and fine. Staff was helpful.
- 3/5
The staff was great and the location is nice for work. But this place is in serious need of updating. We are talking about some things from the 1980's, maybe even the 70's. popcorn ceiling, the microwave was so noisy and very dated. Coffee maker worked.... sometimes. Hallway paint from the 80's. We were here for a convention, and that was convenient, but it would be nice if that place got a reboot.
- 4/5
Carpet in room was a mess with stains and discolored.
- 3/5
I was given room next to freeway when there was definitely not full vacancy.
- 1/5
There was a fight and an arrest the first night my husband stayed here. He packed his stuff up and didn't go back. Didn't even request a refund it wasn't worth it!
- 2/5
Lights are faulty and don't work well. Toilet hard to flush. Bed was very uncomfortable. Great customer service experience checking in, decent breakfast, easy parking.
- 5/5
Clean room staff was very nice
- 5/5
Had to pay for parking !
- 3/5
Not very friendly front desk staff.
- 1/5
The biggest issue was the HVAC system. The temperature was wildly inconsistent — heat was uncomfortably hot, while switching to cool air made the room too cold with an aggressive fan. There was no way to achieve a comfortable middle ground, which made sleeping difficult. The room itself had several quality-of-life problems. The curtains did not fully cover the windows, letting in exterior light at night and early morning. The windows were also drafty, which compounded the temperature issues. In the bathroom, the shower dispensers were clearly not refilled, which felt careless. The lobby and hallways had a musty, stuffy smell that made the entire property feel run-down rather than welcoming. Again, nothing overtly filthy — but the atmosphere suggested deferred maintenance and a lack of attention to detail. For the cost, this stay felt significantly overcharged. I wouldn’t return unless there were meaningful updates to the rooms, HVAC, and overall upkeep. There are better options in Portland at this price point.
- 1/5
This place is garbage!
- 4/5
Clean rooms but old, staff courteous
- 5/5
clean room, the best pillows!!!
- 5/5
The room was spotless it did an awesome job of taking care of us
- 3/5
Rooms are a bit outdated as stated by most of the reviewers. The hotel is very well located. It is almost 50 steps away from the tram station, which can take you almost anywhere in Portland. The check-in process was seamless. The staff were all kind and helpful. The breakfast is average. The coffee served at breakfast was good quality.
- 5/5
The rooms were clean, there was a great selection for breakfast, and the people running the front desk were kind!
- 3/5
Beds were uncomfortable in the room we had. They had sink holes in them.
- 4/5
Could have been vacuumed
- 5/5
They were good
- 5/5
Yes
- 4/5
The vanity light in the bathroom did not work, so you couldn't even shave. The USB charging ports in the lamps did not work.
- 3/5
It was ok. Cereal, wafles, yogurt, super standar.
- 4/5
Older but solid
- 3/5
The staff was great, with the room had a couple issues. First the USB charging ports in the lamps did not work, second the vanity Glide over the sink for the bathroom did not work so you could not see nothing couldn't see the shave or brush my teeth other than that it was great
- 5/5
Breakfast was delicious :)
- 5/5
Had a wonderful time
- 5/5
The room was excellent, the staff friendly I always enh=joy staying there.
- 5/5
Everything was clean. The beds were so comfy.
- 4/5
Staff was awesome and were attentive to our needs. The place was accessible to public transit and the airport is not too far away. About 1 hour by train vs. 45 minutes by ride share.
- 4/5
Probably the best for "cost vs. performance" in all properties inside downtown Portland. The property isn't in the best quality but the location is convenient to browse downtown.
- 4/5
Location was great
- 3/5
Parking should be free
- 5/5
Okay
- 4/5
Room was clean and nice. Only problem was usb ports did not work.
- 3/5
Yes
- 4/5
The staff was friendly from start to finish, the hotel was clean and even though not super updated it was comfortable and nice enough. I would definitely go back and recommend this property to others.
- 3/5
THe location is off the 'beaten track' but there are a couple of restaurants and quite a number of food trucks in the area
- 5/5
Very good
- 3/5
Room was great. Loved the late late checkout for only 15 more. The breakfast went downhill though, now it's just plain basic and it used to not be.
- 4/5
The hotel itself was good. My only complaint was that we had to pay to park! I've never EVER had to pay to park at a hotel when I'm paying to stay there. In my opinion that was absolutely ridiculous, do they not make enough off the price of the room to pay for parking?
- 4/5
Clean and quiet
- 2/5
The carpet throughout the hotel smelled and needs to be replaced.
- 5/5
Great location. Close to food trucks. Breakfast didn't provide anything warm except do it yourself waffles, which I couldn't wait around for. Overall good.
- 1/5
Parking is not free
- 4/5
Room was very clean including bathroom. What maybe needs more attention is the breakfast selection. I think it needs more variety, food wise. Ex. scramble egg, sausage links, bacon.
- 4/5
Yes, it was great.
- 5/5
Nice and clean. Dated but fine. All of the usb plugs in the lamps were damaged and unusable. Friendly staff. They say room service is by request only on the posters on the walls but they will come through anyways unless you put out the do not disturb placard.
- 4/5
Courteous staff. Clean rooms. Very accessible
- 5/5
Very nice and comfortable easy access to everything very happy 😆 AAAA+++
- 1/5
Room was dirty and dingy. WiFi didn’t work. Bugs in my room. Hotel phone was unplugged from my wall. Saw dirty towels in the bathroom
- 4/5
Clean room and facilities. Friendly staff. Spacious room. I could hear traffic outside, but not too bad.
- 5/5
Close to OHSU
- 3/5
Room was good, bed awsomes, water pressure in the shower was low, and thwy make you pay a $75 deposite that they say you get back after check out that i never got back
- 4/5
Great, safe location. Friendly staff. Rooms and breakfast were very basic, but nice.
- 5/5
Very nice person at tte desk. She was super helpful!! Breakfast was phenomenal!!! So many choices.
- 3/5
Room was ok. Stayed 2 nights. It's just ok.
- 2/5
The room was dirty all the furniture and the carpet look really dirty, the room smelled weird. The room did not match the pictures
- 5/5
Nice clean quiet hotel in perfect location for us. Breakfast is continental but lots of choices and excellent. Room clean, bed comfortable. Staff friendly but mellow (perfect).
- 5/5
It seems like a nice property. Our tv didn't work but they tried to fix it for us and offered to move us to a new room (we declined it was late and we were tired). We didn't get up in time for the free breakfast so I can't review that. All in all it was a nice stay!
- 4/5
Convenient, clean, and reasonable room
- 5/5
Front desk was amazinggggggg so helpful and kind we loved coming here and will be back every time we go to Portland!!!!
- 4/5
Staff was very friendly. Everyone we saw greeted us with a smile
- 3/5
Hotel- smelled like marijuana Breakfast- just okay
- 2/5
The room need a complete reburbish. Their was some yellow stain around the entire ceiling.
- 4/5
did not have breakfast, room was clean everything worked well, and customer service was great
- 3/5
There was a humming noise that kept going on and off at night and i couldn't find the source. Otherwise everyone was nice, it was a basic clean hotel.
- 4/5
Clean. Ok breakfast.
- 5/5
yes to both. My second time staying in this hotel
- 2/5
When I book The Room it said all fees were included, I had to pay a parking fee
- 5/5
Great staff very friendly and engaging. Loved there was an indoor pool and hot tub great way to relax after a long drive.
- 5/5
Clean room, very quiet.
- 3/5
Not the nicest place to stay but I knew that because of the price
- 5/5
This is my third stay at this hotel. Each stay is constantly a good value: friendly staff, clean, comfortable room, great price and centrally located.
- 5/5
good
- 4/5
We really like this hotel for the most part. The room was dated but fine. The water pressure was not good in the shower and the bathroom could use some maintenance to make it look better. And we are plant based, the breakfast is very limited.
- 4/5
Everything is cool with this hotel, except for that continental breakfast. One of the weakest I've had. Other than that, a really excellent place to stay!
- 5/5
The staff were friendly checking in and out. The room was clean. The remote for the TV was horrible, you had to have it at a certain height and angle to work. The microwave sounds like it was going to break, but did work. The bed felt comfortable at first until it wasn't. Little sleep because the toilet would run then not run then run again. We missed breakfast due to doctors appointment, so cannot comment on that. Would I stay here again? Probably not. I don't like giving negative reviews, but this was our experience.
- 2/5
They charge to park 12 dollars a day and a deposit they take their time giving back to you d 75 dollars. Won't ever stay there again Oh and the breakfast, talk about a joke. They had a waffle maker, which was the only good thing, and I got their peanut butter packets. The pb packets were so old 1/2 way into opening I notice the pb is hard! And the ham slices they had on ice, OMG DISGUSTING AND GREY
- 4/5
Room is clean, staffs are so friendly
- 5/5
Clean room
- 5/5
Ac worked very good, pretty godd for the price, would stay again
- 5/5
Staff was nice, its close to a max station, and restaurants are within walking distance.
- 4/5
Place is just about right

All staff was friendly. Rooms were clean. Pillows could have been better. Breakfast wasn’t bad. Would stay again no problem!
- 3/5
My biggest complaint is the noise from 405 freeway outside my room. My room is just next to freeway less than 50 feet away, constant noise even from late night.
- 4/5
Thank you

Location was great, I just hated the fact that the hair dryer didn't work the lamp table was broken and didn't work. I honestly couldn't really get sleep I kept hearing the door slam every 5 minutes around 10 pm I didn't go to sleep till 4 am. I couldn't really get rest. The breakfast was very good and lots of options. Towels smelled like mildew. I just feel like it could of been better.
- 5/5
I’ve stayed here often. It’s easy, nice and not too expensive.
- 5/5
I wish I had found this hotel for previous stay. Overall met my needs. Parking great and staff excellent. I tried calling direct to book reservation and call was highjacked and tried booking direct and highjacked on line.
- 5/5
Clean room,staff are friendly
- 4/5
Good bargain. Walking distance to downtown. Close to places of interest.
- 4/5
No frills safe place to park and sleep at a reasonable price. Rail passes right in front and easy access to freeways. Short walk to food.
- 5/5
What a wonderful experience staying at the University Place Hotel. It was great to relax at the hotel after spending the day at OHSU. It is so conveniently located. Then, the next morning it was time for the amazing, complimentary breakfast. What a variety of delicious foods to choose from, including waffles, which is always a treat when away from home. It was also just a short drive to the Southwest Water Front area and back. I will without a doubt stay here again when in the area.
- 4/5
It was fine and felt secure. It's getting a little tired and dated here and there but all in all considering the price and the location we are happy.
- 4/5
We were happy the property was close to the hospital. It’s an older building but was well maintained.
- 3/5
The room was clean, but the property is outdated.

Everything Good
- 5/5
Good WiFi and access to public transport.
- 5/5
Room was clean, but a bit outdated. Still the location was excellent and the ability to have our dog with us was great. We were able to have fun, visit friends and enjoy local food choices with out paying an exorbitant amount of money.
- 5/5
Clean room. Comfortable bed. Good parking.
- 4/5
Although we did not make it to breakfast during our stay . Nice ! Convenient for our stay and front desk very nice!
- 4/5
The breakfast options we lacking. I was very disappointed they got rid of their scrambled eggs and sausage/bacon.
- 4/5
The staff was very nice
- 4/5
Pool is nice.
- 4/5
Close to Dr. appointment

Absolute trash, won’t check you in at night… not worth it if need a hotel asap.
- 3/5
I had to pay to park my car first time ever for me also I was suspicious that the sheets had not been changed they had creases in them and the desk had a big burn mark in it which I thought was absurd to leave that in the hotel I sure didn't appreciate it
- 5/5
Nice place to stay for downtown access
- 3/5
Needed to drive or get tram
- 5/5
Nice and clean place
- 5/5
Good location, although I saw few car break-in
- 1/5
It was terrible. They gave me room 329 and I was promised to view and when I opened up the curtain the entire window was completely covered by a tree and I couldn't look out and see. Next, the bolts that hold the toilet down were broken and I almost fell over in the toilet and a whole toilet almost fell over. I was assigned another room and I found that there was no USB ports to charge my appliances. The door didn't shut by itself. They closed the pool on me and I was very disappointed.
- 3/5
They didnt disclose that there would be addional fees charged as a security hold and that we had to pay for parking.
- 3/5
The hairdryer and microwave could use an update. Other than that the stay was nice.
- 2/5
Everything in my room was broken. The place was really rundown. I do not recommend it whatsoever.
- 4/5
Staff was unprofessional
- 4/5
It would be nice if there was a restaurant/bar as part of the hotel.
- 5/5
A nice sleep over. Thanks
- 3/5
A very dated hotel. It looks good from the outside but ... Bedside lamps were loose and difficult to keep on. Shower tile needs attention. The oh so dated cottage cheese ceiling was stained a brownish color around the perimeter where it meets the walls. Toilets are way too low to be comfortable. Furniture has seen better days. The elevator is too small to use the luggage carts comfortably. Basically, the property needs interior refreshing. Scrambled eggs and bacon/sausage would improve the carb and fruit breakfast fare immensely.
- 3/5
My drain in the shower did not drain very well. At the end of a shower there was 3" of water in the tub. Kind of gross.
- 5/5
Not the newest or most updated in comparison to other hotels in the area but it’s centrally located and great value for the money. The staff are super friendly and helpful. I absolutely recommend the hotel to anyone going to Portland.
- 4/5
Very affordable and had a nice continental breakfast each morning. Overall cleanliness was acceptable.
- 5/5
This hotel is centrally located at Portland State University and easily accessible. The trolley/metro train stop is just across the parking lot. The room was very clean, well equipped and comfortable. Highly recommended.
- 4/5
Overall good stay .
- 3/5
It is close to OHSU
- 2/5
Got charged $13 to park which we've stayed here before and never been charged for. We also had a $75 hold on my card which has also never happened when previously staying here. Will not be coming back to this property.
- 1/5
When checking in they charge you $75 incidental fee, from that fee they charge you $13 a night for parking. I was not told of the $13 night parking and I find it to be sneaky and underhanded. The hotel is run down many of the features are dated and worn out. They had prostitutes checking into the hotel when I was there. So if you don't mind spending the night with Trixie and or bubbles turning tricks in the room next door it's a great place to stay!
- 3/5
I stayed at this hotel in a recent business trip and chose it mainly to save a few bucks and not overpay for parking fees for the four days I was in Portland. You definitely get what you pay for at the end of the day. The hotel is old AC systems Carpet wallpaper all extremely dated. Smells like that a retirement home when you walk in. The fitness center wasn’t great as most of the machinery didn’t work, TVs had been removed and other than having it to myself really had no upside the continental breakfast consisted of bagels instant oatmeal, and hard boiled eggs. Quite frankly, this reminds me of an Econolodge or a Travelodge or some other thrifty price point hotel likely to find a better deal or just pay the premium to stay at a nicer hotel next visit.
- 5/5
Amazing experience , hotel has everything you need and staff is friendly
- 4/5
Walking distance from downtown.

Customer service was great at check-in, I did not like that the front desk didn't advice me about a back door for easy access to my room instead of carrying everything thru the lobby and all the way to my room, bathtub was a bit dirty, also beds were little, and another thing is that I had to pay for parking which I feel should be free because I'm staying at property.
- 5/5
Great service, good food less than 5 minute walking and transportation near by! Very welcoming!
- 5/5
I loved staying here beds were comfortable and the pool was refreshing with all the beautiful plants surrounding it. Breakfast was very good
- 5/5
The bed was amazing and room was great
- 4/5
Evening staff a little rude.
- 4/5
Breakfast was really simple I remember awhile back they served bacon and eggs.
- 5/5
They just need to update their breakfast
- 4/5
The price drew me to this property but with that price, you are going to get some rust stains on the tub & they don't clean your room during your stay. However, it is easy access to walk downtown & it is right next to a food truck area. It is nice that they have breakfast in the morning but breakfast can get really busy during peak hours (8:30ish). The front desk employees are helpful. It's a no frills kind of place but if you're planning on spending your days walking around the city or hiking, it's really all you may need.
- 4/5
I enjoyed my stay. This hotel is in a good location that’s walkable to convenient stores, food, and shopping.
- 3/5
Our room, and the hallway, had a distinct cigarette smell despite the hotel being non smoking.
- 5/5
It was a quiet place.
- 5/5
We spent two wonderful days, the service and location were excellent. We enjoyed the pool. The breakfast was very filling. We had a wonderful experience at the hotel.
- 5/5
The property is older and our room was quite small with basic amenities. A decent value for the location and almost free parking
- 4/5
Great for the price!
- 4/5
The location is very convenient to walk around. Area is safe . Honestly I did not experience any issues concerning safety. The property is kinda old but the staff is super friendly. The only thing is all the noise and crying during my staying. Bunch of kids making noise like ever .
- 4/5
The hotel was older and more worn looking than expected by the photos online. There were also tiny ants in the bathroom. The beds were extremely firm, so if you like that, you’ll love these beds. Overall the place was fine but the “excellent” rating on the site was not matching the actual experience with the room/hotel.
- 3/5
The hotel is conveniently located near the Pearl District and walkable to the Art Museum and History Museum. The room was fine but had way to soft of beds that were uncomfortable bro us. The TV remote only tuned the tv on. The breakfast was fine but the loud commentary by the staff was not appreciated.
- 3/5
Rooms are a cheaper rate but you pay for everything else. I’ve been there twice in one year but won’t go back.
- 4/5
The bed and pillows are so comfortable!
- 5/5
Family of 10 stayed one night. Comfortable stay. Helpful front desk staff. Ok breakfast. Beds a little too soft but sleepable. Good for a short stay.
- 4/5
Very close to downtown and the university (who runs the hotel), and access to main roads was a plus. It's a bit old, and some things are worn and need replacing (carpets in outdoor areas were in bad shape). No frills, but it was clean, everything worked, and there was pool in the courtyard, which I didn't use, but families were enjoying. The price was reasonable, and I'd definitely stay again.
- 5/5
Safe, clean hotel. Perfect for a one-night stop with the family. The kids especially enjoyed the pool, even though it was a bit small for how many people were in it! We also enjoyed the breakfast-lots of variety and a few healthier options (almond slices, pumpkin seeds, with plain yogurt!)
- 5/5
Good
- 5/5
It was clean, fashionable and good service.
- 5/5
Great location, facilities need a bit of an upgrade
- 3/5
Communal areas were clean but the room we have could do some refreshing - paint was peeling off the walls above the air con unit (hidden by a curtain which also covered the air con output, defeating the purpose of the air con unit). Very strict policy regarding smoking & vaping (absolutely nowhere on the property, inside or outside) - when we choose to vape outside away from any entrances, we were threatened with a fine for vaping outside in the car park - when I pointed out the were cigarette ends everywhere in the car park, the person from the hotel just blamed the homeless people. More signage to this fact should be put up in the car park, as the signs on the various entrance doors just state "no smoking or vaping anywhere within 10 feet of any entrance". Pool was adequate to cool down on the days it was 38C.
- 4/5
Love the location of the hotel.
- 2/5
Never coming back to this hotel
- 5/5
It was an unseasonably hot weekend and the AC worked perfectly.
- 4/5
Great beds. Good value for money.
- 4/5
If this was actually disclosed in the hotel.com listing, i would have avoided this property.
- 4/5
Leading up to our stay, I called a couple times to try to coordinate an adjoining room. They said they were not able to fulfill my request but upon check-in, they said that they had figured it out. This was much appreciated and we really enjoyed our stay. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. We would definitely stay here again. The property seems a little dated in the beds are not very uncomfortable, but other than that it fit our needs.
- 4/5
I am a busy mom, I live in the area and I am an alumni at PSU. I have found University Place to be a great spot to hang out during a summer heat wave when I want to live by the pool and don't want to struggle with the AC at home. I also sometimes rent a room here if I am needing some time alone to unwind. It's a decent hotel for a decent price and I plan to keep coming back.
- 4/5
You can’t beat the location, price, pool, free breakfast, cheap parking, and good staff. However, this hotel is absolutely outdated. Our room was clean with everything you need, but there was a wet area on the carpet where something is clearly leaking (near the bathroom door and along one wall) and the sliding door didn’t shut completely/lock (we were on the 3rd floor and so not totally worried about it).
- 4/5
A tad outdated but overall we were pleased with all aspects.
- 5/5
closer to city and safe.
- 5/5
It is a clean and beautiful hotel. The beds are wonderful and the rooms are very clean. Lots of towels and helpful amenities in the rooms. The wall paper is old and peeling. I would give the whole experience a 9/10
- 4/5
The Mattress is too soft

The hotel is a bit older but it’s very clean and the staff is friendly! Would definitely stay here again!

- 3/5
I’d say the overall rank for this property was average. The staff talked really quietly for me to hear them most of the time, but other than that it was okay. Breakfast area was nice but very limited options. The room was clean and the parking lot was spacious. If I’m staying here for only a night, yes, but no longer than that.
- 5/5
Very kind management. The room had everything we needed and it was clean.
- 5/5
Affordable and reliable
- 3/5
With all that said, we would stay here again as it is close to transportation, the hospital, restaurants, and the people that worked there are super nice.
- 3/5
The pool opening 24/7
- 4/5
Good place to stay if you want to walk and explore the downtown Portland area. I’ve been in cleaner hotels but staff was great and complimentary breakfast plus the cheap parking was unbeatable.
- 5/5
Definitely will stay here again if in the area!
- 2/5
Front desk was odd checking in, I felt like I had to ask about all the important information instead of it being provided. Parking is paid only and you’d think they would immediately discuss it. Instead it felt like pulling teeth getting clear info. The decor hasn’t been updated since the late 80s, for some reason the outdoor hallways are carpeted and the carpet is ripped up in many places. The pool was small and packed. My ac unit was right under the black out shades and the airflow would just get caught underneath the shades without circulating in room. Only solution is leaving shades open. The shower had the same pressure as a garden hose and it took forever to wash the soap off. I’ve seen bigger tv’s as menus at breweries, the size was laughable.
- 4/5
And hotel. Lots of kids and families. Was convenient to get to places by car in Portland and easy access to local transport which we did not use. Breakfast worked for us Paid parking was more affordable then all other hotels in downtown Portland
- 2/5
The hotel was conveniently located with a lot of parking in the parking lot. That’s nice, because sometimes you have to pay a lot of money for parking and garages or for valet parking. Yet, they charge $13 a night for parking which is definitely cheaper than many places, but just seem a not so reasonable garbage fee. Our room was dark. And a king size bed, and the door faced out onto the parking lot. Next year, your hallway just had lots and lots of laundry in garbage bags. The swimming pool was sort of fun, but that’s the only amenity we used. We actually went and got a different place to stay because There are definitely better more upscale accommodations in downtown for a similar price. The staff was super sweet! Everybody’s very kind, our check-in was super smooth, and all of our questions were answered. I think if one’s looking for a budget room that’s conveniently located in Portland, this would be it.

Great location to enjoy downtown Portland and an easy MAX ride to the Moda Center or other areas. Room clean. Bed VERY comfy. Quiet. Pool was small, but was a nice amenity. Breakfast was very strictly controlled, so get there early. (Even a cup of coffee!) Was able to accommodate an early check in no problem. Room furniture aged and in poor condition. Health/fitness center needs love - both treadmills out of order and an inclined bench with no free weights. Would stay again.
