Reviews
The hotel is praised for its outstanding service, comfortable and spacious rooms, and convenient location close to downtown and the river. However, the decor is described as dated, and some guests found the dining options limited. The property is generally well-maintained but could benefit from renovations.

Stayed 6 nights, and would happily return. The room was clean and comfortable. I appreciated exercise equipment and pool and coffee machine and TV on the 7th floor. Staff were very helpful.
- 5/5
I've really come to love this place! 2nd stay in 3 months and enjoyed ourselves the same.
- 4/5
Very convenient. Walk distance to the river walk
- 4/5
Check in/out was a breeze. Very old building but well maintained. Pillows were to die for! We purchased 3 to take home. Located directly across from the Truckee River and the Riverside Walk. Entire outside wall was glass and gave a great view of downtown Reno. Would definitely stay here again.
- 3/5
The pool area is pretty nice and the have a whole floor dedicated to public space ( pool, pool table, coffee area, workout room and conference room. Location was pretty good. One block from the river parks and two blocks from casinos. On site parking is available but if you have a tall vehicle it may not be able to get up into the parking garage. We couldn’t decide if we liked it enough to return, which tells me to try somewhere else next time. It is an okay value
- 5/5
I have stayed here before and was very pleased. This stay didn’t disappoint. The staff was friendly and very helpful. Room was wonderful and I slept wonderful..will definitely stay there again.

Nice hotel and nice staff and a very great location!
- 5/5
We r Nv locals that have stayed here several times over the years whenever we want a Reno overnighter. We love the location close to the river and walkable to so many great eateries, museums, and colorful pubs. Biking along the river is just one of the available outdoor activities. The beauty of the hotel’s woodwork and amenities on 7th floor including a huge indoor pool, fitness room, billiards table, AND quiet speakeasy bar with a history all its own are just a few of the amenities. So nice to stay in a “Euro/ San Fran style resort that is NOT a casino.
- 5/5
We loved our stay at Plaza. The rooms were spacious as were the bathrooms. We enjoyed the view from the 15th floor. We parked our car in the garage and everything we needed was close and walkable. The themed floors added to the ambiance.
- 5/5
A little older hotel but has a very large and clean rooms. Good bedding. Felt very comfortable. Parking in an inside garage was a bonus. We will definitely be back.

We had so much fun there!
- 4/5
We had a nice 2 day stay at this hotel. The room was clean and the hotel is in a good location but it is definitely showing its age. It could use a bit of a refresh. We enjoyed our time at the Speak easy that is on property.

I truly love staying at this hotel, it is generally my first choice. It is close enough to walk to Greater Nevada Field, or the event center. Midtown depending on how far you want to venture you can walk or drive a short way and park and walk through the rest. Everyone in the hotel is accommodating. Whenever I have prepaid, if they can let me check in early they do or at minimum part all my stuff in the lot and then I walk around downtown. Family friendly, unique and nice bathrooms too. Love being able to relax in a good bath after a day of fun.
- 5/5
Parking a pick-up truck (limited height) is first come first serve - fortunately I was lucky and had a spot. Would definitely stay here again!❤️❤️
- 5/5
While this property is not glitzy or new, it is clean, comfortable, and cozy. I would certainly stay here again if I were to be in the Reno area again.

Definitely a gem to Reno. 7th floor is a must visit. Rooms are great size comfortable bed and great views
- 5/5
Room was incredibly clean. Loved everything about the 7th floor: wonderful pool and quaint cocktail lounge. Although didn’t use it - had I had my family there, I’m sure we would have enjoyed the Rec room with the pool table. Although main elevator was broken, the service elevator worked fine. Hotel price was great - room was a spacious suite with a king bed, microwave and frig. Cocktails were the best price in town. They even gave coupons for the cocktails which I totally forgot to use! Will definitely stay again.

We enjoy the bar, the staff, the large rooms, the comfortable king bed and the free parking. The property is close to the river and it is an easy walk to restaurants and entertainment.

The staff went out of their way to make sure all of our expectations were met. The vibe was very relaxing, and the decor amazing. I loved being so close to the Truckee River! There were bars and restaurants within walking distance too. Nothing.

It's clean, the people are Awesome. I loved the antiques all over the place, and how each floor has a team.

We have stayed here many times. Older local hotel with theme based common area decor. No gambling (a big + for us) Great location (close to UNR). Friendly staff. Great indoor pool. Wonderful beds. Garage is a bit funky = best for smaller cars. Wonderful India restaurant across the street (+ food court) Sometimes night noice from the establishment across the street, otherwise nothing to complain about.

Retro, spacious, very friendly hotel. The only issue is the street noise.
- 3/5
The floor carpeting looked old and dirty. The decor was strange. The TV sound didn't really work very well. The beds did look nice. We didn't know how to get back into the hotel after parking. I was having a hard time sleeping and so I went down to the lobby but I was kicked out after a bit.

Embracing the 70's kitsch in a cool way. Comfortable bed. Good water pressure in the shower. Lots of space in the room. Even had a small breakfast table, fridge, and microwave. "Speakeasy" bar had a great vibe and delicious drinks. Ask for.the rye in a rat pack. It was amazing!

Our room was extremely spacious and the jacuzzi bathtub was perfect; the view from our room was amazing; and the pool was clean with a comfortable temperature. The parking was a bit tight.
- 5/5
We thought the hotel was a bit dated but overall had an excellent experience there. Housekeeping did a fantastic job every day. Desk staff friendly and helpful. In room coffee every morning was delicious. Breakfast, lunch venues right across street. Enjoyed walking along river every day. Garage parking convenient but set up a bit quirky but learned the ropes after staff suggestion. All in all the Plaza Club Resort was a good fit for us. We would stay there again and recommend to others.

We enjoyed the city view from our spacious room. The hotel is near the Riverwalk which was undergoing work during our visit. Fortunately there is a nice neighborhood with sidewalks where we were able to get some exercise. We utilized the fridge and microwave as well as taking advantage of the free coffee/cocoa/tea during our brief stay.

This hotel is from the days of Reno’s top places to stay. It still has that charm and feelings of the good old days before Vegas. It’s full of history and tales of Reno. The rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. It’s a walkable area less than 3 minutes to the Trucker River walk and restaurants. A 6-7 minute walk to the Reno historic arch and plenty of casinos within a 10 minute walk. This location was perfect and the staff made you feel at home. ***** five stars
- 3/5
I really wanted to like this hotel, but it just didn’t work out that way. The decor and furnishings are run down and generally lack luster. The blankets were so thin as to be non-existent. The staff were ‘meh’- literally never got out of their chair to help us. Seriously, the bartender sat and shouted instructions on where I could find a fork and the front desk gave an exasperated sigh when I called to ask for the WiFi code. No one was overtly rude… I just got the distinct impression that I was keeping them from important relaxation while they were serving us. Bar noise kept us up, the elevator was broken, blah, blah, blah. Not a terrible experience, just not impressive in any good way.
- 5/5
Parking was safe and easy. Loved the old style decor, very comfortable room.
- 3/5
The bar is only open Fri and Sat nights, for anyone that enjoys a drink. They gave us coupons for the bar at 11:30 on Sat night and it wasn’t open again until we had left. Randy at the front desk was very nice and worked with us to stay until 1:00 on the day we left and then the housekeepers came at 11 and told us we needed to be gone, immediately called by Vicki at the front desk that argued with us and hung up on me then called back a 3rd time trying to be nice and said we could stay until 1:00. We were so upset at that point we couldn’t leave fast enough. When we opened the curtains the first night there were hand prints on the large windows overlooking the city. Loved being by the river walk but the rest was truly a disappointment. The parking garage has very low ceilings, be careful what you drive in.
- 4/5
The only discrepancy was the loud noiss from the bar in front of the hotel. Two of the 3 nights spent there was spent listening to drunks shouting.
- 1/5
Comfortable bed Bathroom was clean Decent shower Old and scary Popcorn ceiling Room tilted
- 5/5
Has everything I'd want in a hotel room and was in a great location. Across the street from convenience store, easy to walk to local restaurants and attractions. Friendly staff, spacious, clean room. No complaints.
- 5/5
Not exactly the areaI would personally walk around at night but we walked in the day time and it was fine. Great river area nearby. Hotel property is older but very well maintained. Room was very clean yet didn't smell of cleaning products. (YAY) Heater/air conditioner worked great. Nice little shop inside. Staff at Reception was very helpful. Really appreciated the parking structure and it was kept secure at night. They loan you a garage door opener to open and close the gate. We will definitely be back.

Location ok. Large room. A bit tired feel. The air in the room smelled like cleaning fluid and the windows do not open. Could hear the elevator running even though we were not next to it.

While this is an older building, the room was very clean as we're all the amenity spaces.

This hotel was a pleasant surprise, it looked very dated when we arrive but the room was very clean, clean bedding, towels and the view from my 15th floor room was EVERYTHING!. I will be staying here again. Thank you to the staff for a great experience at Plaza Resort Club.

Great location on the River Walk Pillows were WAAAAAY too hard - the hardest foam I have encountered - I had to take off the pillow case and put my puffy coat in it to be able to sleep - also the fan in the room was very noisy.

Location, indoor pool, free covered parking with a remote for each customer, non-smoking Could use updates but it has its charm
- 5/5
The parking was okay ,but the parking elevators weren't working during my stay. It was a nice quiet weekend with walking distance to casinos and restaurants. I'll return for its convenience and cleanliness.
- 2/5
We visited for our Wedding for the weekend. We got two room, our girls found a bag in the bathroom with 5 marijuana joints. This was unacceptable, thankfully our girls let us know, I can’t believe the drawers were not checked while cleaning staff clean the room for the guests before us. Additionally, when we checked out the front desk staff said they would leave the manager a note and they would provide a complimentary stay and we can expect a call from the manager. It’s been a week since our visit and we have yet to hear from the manager. I was very disappointed with the customer service and management not calling me back.
- 5/5
The only bad thing is they lock the garage at 7:30 that means you have to put a deposit on a remote to let yourself back into the garage for 75.00 dollars. You do get it back in 14 days. So we just left our car and didn’t get the remote.
- 5/5
Beautiful, clean hotel. Rooms have nice sturdy vintage furniture. It was a little confusing figuring out which floor to go to for what (coffee, pool and lounge on 7th floor,
- 5/5
The hotel and room itself were very clean and comfortable. The location was good and was easy walking distance to all of the strip casinos. This is not the place for you if you want gambling and all the luxuries of a casino "on-site". The hotel bar was very small so we decided to go elsewhere. The room was clean and comfortable and we had a nice view. The staff were friendly and helpful. The parking garage is a 2-way drive but with a little confidence and stopping to honk before going around the corners, it was manageable. All around a good stay and would likely stay here again.
- 4/5
Good location, rooms are pretty older than showed in photos, no doors between rooms.
- 4/5
Spacious room and good location in heart of Reno
- 3/5
Not bad for 1 overnight but walls are paper thin. I heard another guest sneezing from 2 doors down. The noise on the streets was horrible.
- 4/5
It was a nice stay. Elevator at parking lot needs some updating but otherwise staff and room was good.
- 4/5
Parking was secure but blind going up into the garage.
- 5/5
The afternoon front desk lady is amazing! So kind and helpful! The rooms are huge and the view is amazing definitely a hidden gem in Reno ! It’s our go to stay now when traveling thru the area !
- 5/5
The pool is very clean and the sauna.
- 5/5
A quirkily dated hotel — but spotlessly clean, with new carpet, mattress, and bedding. Great location. Wonderful staff. Definitely would stay again.
- 4/5
Nice staff, very clean, Parking was nice, cool older hotel. For in late didnt have a chance to check out the bar or the Huge pool. Walking distance to the casinos/river walk. I would stay here again .
- 5/5
The staff was great, location is ideal. Even the mattress n pillows were damn near perfect! I would stay again. Reno is certainly the old timey feel n this resort holds true to it.
- 5/5
Beautiful, quaint and quiet older hotel. Spacious rooms, with large bathroom and plenty of vanity counter space. Great location with excellent view of downtown and surrounding foothills. Lots of gorgeous antiques throughout the building. Sky/sun deck provides additional beautiful views. Did not have a chance to use the pool or take advantage of weekend bar/lounge, but both looked inviting and fun. We appreciated the quiet atmosphere. No casino or slot machines; a plus for us. Easily walkable to mid-town or downtown. Parking garage is a little funky- it’s super-short, so leave your giant pickups at home :)
- 1/5
No Air Conditioning, in 702. Although the room location was great. Love the antiques. Then the garage elevator brook down during the day. The night staff did give us a fan for that night. It was 77 degrees all night in the room. Just too stuffy! Truly the staff needs to never let this stuff happens again. Maintenance maintenance maintenance.
- 5/5
This place was quite the find. Located just a few blocks off the strip. Not a casino hotel but within walking distance to everything including the Reno Events Center. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and the room was so spacious with amazing view. Just so lovely especially if you appreciate vintage decor. Just so quaint with all the amenities. We truly enjoyed our stay and this will our go to place when visiting Reno in the future. Thank you again for a wonderful stay.

- 5/5
Love this place! We’ve stayed there several times, and every time has been fantastic. Walking distance to so many great places to eat and drink. Walk along the river. Enjoy the speakeasy. Such a unique and fun place to stay that isn’t a casino!

Great with room with everything you need
- 4/5
The room was clean, Bed was comfortable, Shower pressure was good, room size was excellent, can just use an update to a more modern look and have a better layout of the room. I didn't get to use the pool or gym when I was there. The location good as well. But well worth the money compared to other hotels in the area.
- 5/5
Clean room
- 4/5
We have stayed here several times. Love the place and location - just 5 min from UNR. The staff is really nice. Great indoor pool. Love the historic theme on each floor - the things I did not know about Reno. Will explore more next time. Love the Indian restaurant across the street. Need to bring better ear plugs because of the party goers across the street. ... which is a bummer and of course nothing to do with the hotel itself.
- 5/5

Wonderful staff, clean, well appointed—lovely.
- 5/5
Wife and I love it, but it may not appeal to folks seeking a casino-style hotel.
- 5/5
Muy bueno
- 5/5
Complimentary water bottles were a nice touch. The location is very close to the Strip, and the free parking was a huge plus. We stayed for two days, and when we returned to our room on the second day, it was spotless—which is rare nowadays, as many hotels only provide housekeeping upon request. The front desk staff were polite and welcoming. We loved our stay and will definitely be coming back.
- 5/5
The view was amazing! The pool and pool table were fun for the family ?
- 5/5
Very nice staffing
- 5/5
The room was very clean. I especially liked there were xtra blankets because it was very cold outside. It was quiet and very restfull. I loved going to the bar for a nightcap. The bartender was great. He makes a lot of different drinks that i have never heard of. Had a great stay and if im in town again i will stay there.
- 3/5
I was put on 17 floor, which made me happy so I could see all around me. But the fun began at night when they started to remodel above my room. I was woken up in the middle of the night by construction banging and smell of paint. Not a relaxing night I was looking for.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay! The rooms were incredibly spacious and clean, which made traveling with the family so much easier. The highlight for us was definitely the heated pool—the kids had a total blast and didn't want to leave. What really stood out, though, was the staff; everyone was so friendly and welcoming. We loved everything about our experience and will definitely be back!
- 4/5
Everything was great just a little old.
- 5/5
They have the best staff here. Location is perfect and love the underground secure parking. Very large rooms with some nice views, appreciate having a fridge and microwave. Inside you jump back into the 80s with all this old oak furniture and old school finishes. No clue how they keep it all looking brand new.
- 4/5
There was a pool table and a small banquet room. They have an indoor pool that was used a lot by other guests. There was also a free coffe machine that does specialized coffee. I thought it was a great little hotel. Parking was included, make sure you vehicle is small, it can't be talked than 6'4. The elevators in the parking garage were very slow. Over all the hotel was great. It just needs a little update. Thre best: The bathroom had a heat lamp!! The worst: The heater had a hard time heating the room at night. Get a few extra blankets from the front desk.
- 3/5
Room was spacious but this place is OLD. The parking garage is like a roller coaster…
- 5/5

I loved it. I liked everything about the property
- 4.5/5
The location was great, staff was super friendly. We came to visit for the pride festival and will stay here again on our next visit to Reno. The bathroom could have been a little cleaner

Excellent bed. Huge room. Interesting vintage decor. Great location
- 5/5
Fantastic stay
- 5/5
I absolutely love this vintage hotel. It’s so cute and most people have no idea it’s there! With an indoor rooftop pool we had a blast with our daughter. The parking garage was easy to access, though the elevator was out of commission they did allow guests to use the service elevator. They also provided us with a garage clicker to access parking after hours. Within walking distance of everything downtown. The room was clean and had a great view. They also had a pull out bed so our daughter didn’t have to sleep with us. You definitely get the value for your money.
- 5/5
Clean, rooms are big and a old school Reno feeling!
- 5/5
😊
- 5/5
Everything was perfect
- 5/5
This was our second stay and it was very good like the first one, room was clean, my daughter really enjoyed the pool and the staff it’s very nice and friendly.

Staff and cleanliness
- 5/5
The service was amazing — the staff was very warm, friendly, and attentive. The hotel has a classic style, but it is in excellent condition and very clean. It is also located in a very convenient area, just a 5-minute walk from the main casinos.
- 5/5
Check-in was easy, parking was aplenty and room was comfortable and spacious. I will definitely be booking another stay here when I return to Reno.
- 5/5
Carpets were very dirty. Other than the carpets , excellent stay.
- 5/5
Room was fantastic and spacious for our family of 4. The pool facility was a great amenity and our kids loved it. Wonderful and helpful staff.
- 5/5
The gentleman that checked us in was so nice and helpful. My son loved the big window and view from the room. We ate in our room each night just for the cool city view! This was a great hotel and we would definitely stay again.
- 5/5
Staff was very courtious and willing to attend to our needs. Clean room, and everything we needed from a microwave to a refrigerator. The 7th floor is also an amazing attribute to the hotel.
- 5/5
Very clean and enough space for us, the emploess is so nice.
- 5/5
Great location in downtown Reno with free parking. The room includes a fridge and a microwave, which are very convenient. There is also a heated pool on the 7th floor, which is a nice bonus if you’d like to go swimming.
- 4.5/5
Fabulous large room. Terrific staff.!!!
- 5/5
Clean room, awesome staff
- 4/5
Very nice and helpful staff, large room with very comfortable bed, quiet location away from the glitz of downtown but only a 5 min walk away when we wanted to check that out! Nice to have parking included too.
- 3/5
Hotel is so old and looks as though it needs a big refresh
- 5/5
Great customer service rooms are clean and the bed and pillows were comfortable.
- 5/5
Clean room comfortable bed. Nice staff
- 5/5
The venue was spot on. An old style historic hotel had all the detailed looks and feel of the old days. Very quiet, very clean, very old style and the hotel staff was on the spot very nice, polite and extremely friendly.Thank you very much for a pleasant experience. Slept extremely well for 3 nights!
- 5/5
Best hotel in Reno that no one knows about.
- 5/5
Highly recommended
- 5/5
Room was soo spacious. Loved it.
- 2/5
The room furniture appears old but reasonable clean. The elevator in the garage was broken when we were there and we had to use the staff elevator. There are random loud street car noise in night if your room faces the West street.
- 5/5
Arriving at the hotel was the least impressive but the hotel lobby was beautiful and the staff very helpful. Our vehicle was too tall for the garage, and staff made sure there was space for us outside the main lobby. The room was huge and the view amazing. Very roomy. From what I read the rooms were once time shares, so meant for longer stays. If you smoke there’s a huge outdoor area on the same level as the bar and indoor swimming pool, billiards room, TV room and Gym. The hotel gave off a sort of classic, well made feeling in comparison to the cookie cutter hotel chains. I’m not much of a gambler but if you are you do not need to go far find it. Hotel was great for walkability, near excellent restaurants and the River.
- 5/5
Great staff. superior room. good location. Awesome!
- 5/5
What a place!!! And the price was great!!
- 5/5
Clean, big room, comfortable bed, huge windows, easy parking. Great value.
- 5/5
Loved the comfortable bed and cozy feel of the hotel
- 5/5
When I visited each floor had a themed display of art which blended well with the hardwood, tile and brass in the establishment.
- 5/5
Loved to bed
- 5/5
No casino at this location
- 5/5
Everyone was friendly, facility and room clean. Room/king bed larger than many. Very quiet. Delicious coffees available. Just could’ve used more bath towels for 2 people. Thanks
- 5/5
Nice staff. Fun decor. Walking distance from most stuff.
- 5/5
Great place to stay
- 5/5
We slept well.
- 5/5
The room was spotless, large, and well furnished. The 7th floor lounges and pool deck are amazing. Great coffee and water machines, too.

- 5/5
Amazing place with a speak easy right downstairs! Wonderful stay!
- 2/5
Very old property. Room with old carpet. Clean bathroom, but shower knob was very tight to adjust.
- 5/5
Nick helped us check in. Very polite and got us right in. The room was nice and clean as well as the lobby. Parking was convenient as well. Would stay here again.
- 3/5
Very noisy area. We were on the 15th floor and the street noise was so awful all night long. Not the fault of the hotel, just know that you won’t have peace and quiet here
- 5/5
Nice economic hotel. Too loud at night due to nearby event.
- 5/5
Good location, very cute hotel. A little outdated. We were disappointed, because pool was broken and nobody notified us. We were really looking forward to using the pool.
- 5/5
Clean room, nice and quiet place
- 5/5
Gentleman during check on and great guy
- 5/5
Awesome
- 5/5
Hotel is in an area under construction with narrow streets. Thankfully goggle maps helped.
- 3/5
Close to casinos
- 4/5
Great decor
- 2/5
The area is not safe at all. Had to pay extra for a remote to open parking gates just to park. The area was quiet during the day and a zoo at night. Partying in the streets and street racing. We stayed for 2 nights and did not sleep.
- 5/5
This is a hidden gem in downtown-the Soeakeasy bar was the bomb, the rooms are large and comfortable and the location is convenient!
- 4/5
There are walkable bars and restaurants, in the daytime. The neighborhood could use a little upgrade, I’ve stayed here twice and haven’t had any problems, but I also don’t walk around outside at night in this area of Reno.
- 5/5
We will be back ;)
- 5/5
If you appreciate not having to traipse through a casino lobby to get to your room, then this place is gold.
- 5/5
This hotel is in a great location. Close to the river walk and has lots of restaurants within walking distance. There's no casino in this hotel which was a big reason I chose it. Lots of casinos a short walk away if that's what you're after. There's also no restaurant but there's a great little place across the street for breakfast. The decor of the rooms is dated but everything is really well maintained and very clean. Very comfy bed too. I would not hesitate to stay here again.
- 5/5
Staff were all great.
- 5/5
Went for street vibes motorcycle rally. Everything downtown was close I walked everywhere location was perfect.hotel was clean has pool, pool table and bar very convenient. Front desk was helpful and professional. Store was on the corner 2 blocks from the row 2 blocks from the j resort and 2 blocks from calneva.
- 5/5
Everything was perfect
- 5/5
Wonderful beds and fluffy pillows!
- 5/5
It was a great place to stay
- 5/5
Stayed here several times, the property is a little older but the rooms are clean and comfortable. The staff is always friendly and prompt. The swimming pool is great and location is convenient for university events and places to find out.
- 5/5
We really liked the secure lobby and parking. The hotel is just a block or two away from a bunch of restaurants and things to do. Completely nonsmoking was perfect for us!
- 5/5
It's been a wonderful check in experience!!
- 4/5
The staff is very friendly and helpful. The room is clean and the bed is comfortable. The bathrooms are updated but the rooms are dated. I wouldn’t take my girlfriend here but kids would think it was a nice experience.
- 5/5
Old style hotel full of charm and friendly staff
- 4/5
Fri nite: Bar across the street very noisy. Couldn’t sleep until after MN. Sat: Slept half the next day away then walked river walk. Requested rm change. New room sheets smelled musty.we changed new sheet set in room. Sat nite: Finally rested. Rm was spacious and very clean but needs refreshing. Popcorn ceilings & dated carpeting.
- 5/5
All was good had a great stay
- 4/5
Nice big room, very clean, free tea/coffee, next to riverwalk. But front rooms face a bar that bumps music all night, seriously, until 6am. The a/c kinda muffled the sound but not enough. If you book, ask for a room facing the back.
- 4/5
Very cool old vibe. Very clean and comfortable beds.
- 5/5
The property was unique as it is a very short distance to the RiverWalk. Lots of restaurants and casinos within a block or so of walking. I love the Historic and Vintage room and decor of the property. Free Wi-Fi. No Resort Fee. Perfect for someone who prefer a quieter hotel to stay. The parking was limited but I checked in right on time so I had plenty of spaces to chose from. If you want to go to the bar in the hotel, it is only open on Friday and Saturday nights. My kind of place to stay.
- 5/5
The property was homey. We enjoyed the stay. The hotel bar hours could have been extended for the long weekend.
- 5/5
Very cute dated back to the 1980s like walking in to a Agatha Christie novel, i will definitely stay there again. Not a single slot machine in the hotel ( a plus in my book). The bar was First Class, played pool late into the night. Great staff and secure garage parking.
- 5/5
Clean room , close to casinos
- 4/5
I found it difficult to unload & load luggage. Need more bell carts
- 5/5
I picked this hotel mainly because the garage was supposed to be secure with the gate shutting at night. But when we arrived, I was told the garage gate was broken. It wouldn't be fix till Tuesday. Of course, we checked in Saturday and leaving Monday. So I'm very disappointed with that fact.
- 5/5
Great time in Reno. We have stayed here at least 8 times. Close to everything and walkable. They need ice machines on every floor. Going down 7 floors to get ice then back up 7 floors was a bummer.
- 4/5
Great views and super spacious room and bathroom. Even though I didn’t need it, I loved that there were lots of extra pillows and blankets.
- 4/5
Great location and easy access from the airport and to the old downtown.
- 1/5
We stayed 3 nights at the Plaza. Staff was friendly, free parking in a secure garage, clean room but quite dated in furnishings. Every night from about 9pm till 4am the noise from the partiers on the street was a nightmare. Music could be heard rumbling from a nearby club. Hooting, hollering, and cars with music so loud it shook our windows on the 10th floor made sleeping next to impossible. It’s not the hotels fault - but due to the location, we would never consider staying here again.
- 5/5
We stayed here for 2 nights the room was clean and had a great view. The furniture was a bit out dated but adorable. The staff is really friendly and helpful. There is alot of night life right around the hotel. The river walk is a must(some homeless around the river walk but no issues) would stay here again no doubt! The only down side is I have a large truck and it does not fit in the parking garage. Make sure you bring a car or small SUV. The staff was very accommodating in letting me park in the front of the parking garage.
- 2/5
Wifi didnt work for entire stay, room freshner was so heavy couldnt breath, sneezed coughed, windows sealed shut, last straw was when partners leg got sliced open on sleep sofa. Checked out day early no refunds is what front desk said never asked how leg was doing.
- 5/5
Service was amazing
- 4/5
Lighting in hallways reminded Me of American Horror Story-too dark.
- 4/5
We love this hotel! Located right on the Truckee River. In close walking distance to many restaurants, coffee shops, art, river walk, bars, outdoor entertainment and centrally located just on the out skirts of downtown. Has a lovely indoor pool, large dining area, pool table and in house speakeasy bar, and roof top lounge. It was loud enough outside at night on a Saturday to make me feel lively yet quite enough to wind down when ready to rest. Only complaint was the small parking garage made me nervous while parking my large suv. There is plenty and felt safe enough parking on street surrounding building and large 4-5 story parking garage if needed just a block away.
- 4/5
Rooms were big and clean
- 4/5
Love the old historical decor of the hotel! The lounge with free coffee and pool table is a nice touch. The indoor pool is awesome. The beds and pillows are very comfortable. Check-in was easy, and the staff was very nice. The parking lot is interesting but it’s free and feels secure! Short drive to UNR. My only complain is that the carpets need to be cleaned. Our family would stay here again.
- 5/5
Such a great place to stay. The rooms were big with a fridge and microwave, the beds were very comfortable, and the pool was perfect temperature. While the hotel does not have a restaurant in site, you have many dining options just a few steps away. This will be the only place I stay from now on in Reno.
- 3/5
Staff was not able to fix the issue.
- 4/5
Place was clean. Not much around. Felt unsafe in the garage. Restaurant was closed on a Sunday night.
- 5/5
Above my expectations!
- 1/5
The hotel canceled my reservation because on my previous stay i asked for a late check out of noon. The hotel didnt say anything to me and acted like a normal hotel and let me stay an extra 30 minutes. The hotel was nice and quiet as long as you dont mind it being outdated with the original oak furniture from the 70s.
- 5/5
Can make 1000
- 5/5
My family and I always stay at the Plaza Hotel when we go to Reno. I love the vintage feel and history of the hotel, not to mention the wonderful staff that always makes our stay extra comfortable. 10/10!
- 3/5
Place was adequate for a night stay. The lobby area is nice, but the rooms are in need of modernization.
- 5/5
Friendly person behind counter to check in
- 5/5
Overall for being a older hotel and older furnishings everything is well kept, clean. They have nice bar and heated pool that was a nice addition
- 5/5
Cleanest hotel in Reno! This hotel has a 80’s Reno vibe but in the best ways. Large but with an intimate feel, quiet, clean indoor pool, large rooms, great water pressure, comfy big beds, free coffee and billiards, free internet, lots of common area space to relax, onsite parking, close to the Row casinos and River Walk restaurants, clubs, and bars, and the most helpful and friendly staff we’ve come across in quite awhile…and we travel a lot! It was also priced right. Nice to see places like this still exist! We would definitely stay again.
- 5/5
Wonderful
- 5/5
Comfortablee
- 5/5
It is mybfavorite place to stay in Reno it is comfortable.
- 4/5
Spacious rooms. I liked this hotel because it’s right by the river and it’s not a casino. The rooms are very dated, but nice and spacious. The bathroom was large with a separate bath and sink area. I also liked that the garage seemed very secure.
- 4/5
Older hotel. Huge rooms, nice bed, large indoor pool that was nice and warm.
- 5/5
Great old school rustic vibe.
- 5/5
My favorite place in Reno

It is my favorite place to stay in Reno. It is quiet clean and bery comfortable. We can relax here.
- 4/5
The hotel was good, staff really friendly and helpful.
- 5/5
It was a wonderful place to stay. Had a great time.
- 4/5
The hotel is very dated, but the room was large, clean, and the bed was comfortable.
- 5/5
Really enjoyed staying there over the weekend in July. Beautiful room with a character, very spacious and comfortable. Blackout curtains, comfortable bed and pillows, a lot of convenient tables and storage space. Nice bathroom. Every floor has a different theme and is interesting to walk around and look at the pictures or items related to the theme. Will definitely stay here again, next time I go back to Reno!
- 5/5
Went above and beyond felt like the good old days of hospitality!!!
- 5/5
This place is great!
- 5/5
Location, very clean and staff was amazing
- 5/5
Close to the River Walk. Everything is walkable. Very spacious room, strong shower. Definitely stay again.
- 5/5
Great, would book again for sure.
- 5/5
Best rooms in Reno, love that it is non-gaming and family friendly.
- 5/5
Rooms were huge, will maintain and the staff were great.
- 5/5
Staff was super friendly and helpful. The hotel was clean and nice. Will stay here again.
- 4/5
Decent enough for the price
- 4/5
It was okay. Not fantastic not bad. Kinda old place
- 2/5
The room was dirty and old. This hotel is in need of upgrade/improvements. Never again... especially for 300.00 a night
- 4/5
Carpets in the room is very old and stained.
- 5/5
Clean room, but very dated. Staff was nice. Lack of restaurant on site is a bummer, but I honestly didn't check that before I booked.
- 4/5
The pool was lovely and Thirsty’s had delicious cocktails. The location was close and convenient to restaurants, bars and stores. Although our room was spacious and relatively clean, our room did have an unpleasant scent. I appreciated the free parking as well. Overall, a pretty good experience.
- 4/5
Nice place, but louder at night when we expected so far from casinos. Evidently there is a night club across the street that has no closing time. It was loud the Friday night we stayed….from 2am to 3 am- difficult to sleep when we were expecting quiet down by the river…. Otherwise very nice place
- 5/5
Everything thing was excellent. Very friendly and helpful staff. Room clean and quiet. Will definitely go back.
- 5/5
My stay was good the staff was very helpful and friendly. The room was comfortable and spacious we enjoyed our night together with the big window wall in the room.
- 4/5
Good plase, no far from downtown
- 5/5
Experience was great of staying there.
- 5/5
Great last minute reservation, staff and hotel was perfect!
- 5/5
Man oh man.. the front desk lady was super nice and accommodating. Thats what we call EXCELLENCE customer service.
- 5/5
We stayed here at the end of our 140 mile section hike of the PCT. Everything was Great! Waking distance to good restaurants, quiet, excellent check-in staff. Would definitely stay again!
- 4/5
Pretty good place to stay overall- my only complaint is that the hotel is dated and smelled like mold especially in the hallway.
- 5/5
7th floor is really great.thats the pool, coffee, gym etc area. The staff was great. Assisted us with a few oops's we made. I look forward to staying again.
- 4/5
Loved the big room and view from the 17th floor. The pool was great. Morning coffee very good, but I’m ready for coffee at 6 and it started at 7. Parking went well. Bringing luggage to room from parking on dolly was awkward but doable.
- 3/5
It is an oldie establishment, but very out dated. They do not allow guest to use the stairs and there are only two very small, old, elevators. There was a huge crack in the floor foundation in the room I stayed in, and that had to be checked out by the maintenance personnel- no known result from that.
- 5/5
Wasn't offered anything "VIP", feels like a wasted use of the term. Still a good spot though.
- 5/5
The location is close to a river, which is nice if you want to walk around the city
- 4/5
The Hotel was quite a bit out dated but was very clean. When I checked in the lady was pretty rude and not very friendly. We didn’t use any of the amenities basically just slept and showered. The only reason we stayed there was because of the price.
- 5/5
It was excellent. This hotel has a wonderful old feel style to it. I love it. It’s my favorite hotel that I’ve stayed at in Reno. The room was clean. The lobby was amazing. The amenities were great.
- 5/5
Gentleman on front desk professional and friendly. Room spacious and comfortable.
- 5/5
Spacious clean room. Conveniently located close to the highway and downtown.
- 4/5
Hotel is nice and clean. Good location. Staff is friendly. The bed was comfortable, but the pillows not so much. Overall it’s a good hotel and I would stay here again.
- 5/5
Great hotel with a great view on the downtown area from the top floors. Had the chance to be staying on the 17th floor!
- 5/5
We really enjoyed our stay. The room was large and comfortable. We loved the pool, although we did have to wait for clean towels. Very friendly staff.
- 5/5
The rooms were downright spacious, the staff was super helpful and friendly, and the atmosphere was absolutely gorgeous!
- 5/5
Beautiful hotel. Will be my go to!
- 4/5
3am
- 5/5
Liked location, staff & clean room. Disliked room was little outdated, and parking was not convenient.
- 2/5
We were visiting family. Got back to our room late. Our tv would not work and called front desk number. They said nobody was avaliable to help and to call back after 8am.
- 3/5
Classic, not modern. Added security makes access more difficult
