The toilet was backed up all 4 days I was there. The TV kept turning off every 10 seconds. The smoke detector decided to randomly go off at 2 in the morning because the room next door to me were smoking weed. 2 guys were in the courtyard fighting and also woke me up and about 8 police officers had to come arrest them as they were yelling and fighting. I did NOT feel safe as a lone female traveler this time.

Went to hotel and the check in person never showed up after 40 minutes gave up. There were 6 of us waiting in lobby. The place was dirty and run down. Stay away.
- 4/5
The room and bathroom need a bit of love. Otherwise a solid stop while I worked and waited to move into my apartment.
- 1/5
Place was so dirty with some kind of bugs roaming around in the corners. Bathroom was do dis functional . Faucets were spilling water to the sides. I found a small roach as well. I would not recommend this place to families and kids.
- 2/5
It is close to Reston center and most businesses you need to speak with. There is also close walking distance to eat. No hot water for Shower, Room had a unpleasant oder, There is nol breakfast, Only coffee and dry small packaged muffins. As for muffins, there was only 2 or 4 available. Holidayvinn is also close by but more expensive, but at least you get a free real breakfast. Pricing is overpriced for what you actually get. Will never stay here again.
- 4/5
Clean room. With there was an elevator walking the stairs with luggage is hard.
- 2/5
Room was outdated, paint on wall coming off. Restroom ceiling was falling apart and landing in the sink. Ceiling above bed was separating from ceiling. Floors were really dirty. Needs major cleaning and updating.
- 1/5
Absolutely low budget and scary place to stay so unless you are desperate do not stay there. The property is very run down, the staff is not helpful and miserable, the rooms are horrible. This seems to be some type of halfway house for transient or homeless which is not a bad thing however there are obvious drug activities going on. The rooms in the back of the hotel, where I was supposed to stay, had grills outside the doors where people were gathered like it was an apartment dwelling and they were drinking, smoking, and it was not a safe feeling. A lot of cars in the parking lot with people coming and going and it looks like they might live in them.
- 1/5
Felt dirty. I should have lowered my expectations. Staff was nice and friendly but this is definitely a budget motel.
- 1.5/5
The place was in ill repair. Many things in the room did not work. There are many folks living there that are loud and unruly at night, drinking and being loud late at night. It was sketchy the entire experience. Definitely would not recommend

Arrived on May 5th and the 2 gentleman at the front desk were very kind and helpful- we were told that the elevator was not working or that there was not one and needed to take the stairs. The next morning I realized I did not have a shower curtain- took 20+ minutes to get one and the ladies at the front desk were extremely rude and unwelcoming. Our room was dirty with food stuck to the counter, heavy accumulation of dust on higher items, no trashcan or bag in room, and stains dripping down walls. There was one muffin out for breakfast and coffee was bad. terrible look for Extended Stay America
- 0.5/5
Nothing. Maybe location. The room was not clean or prepared. They don't accept cash payments. There was no shower curtain. Staff were not helpful. For the money paid it was like a $80 motel room. I had 8 channels in tv nothing. One thing I didn't see is cockroaches but Iam sure they are there

Really outdated, overpriced, the bathtub was peeling and shower curtain was moldy. There was police there all the time for sketchy guests. Very loud at night. But the bed was clean which was a saving grace.

Location. No soap or bathroom toiletries. They didn’t even have utensils to use for food. The place looked like it was falling apart. AC unit was loud like it was barely going to make it through the night. The place smelled like mold. I would never stay there again or even recommend it to anyone

The worst hotel i have ever stay in. Service horrible, smoking odor even room says non smoking, door locks not working properly. A disaster

Nice and clean. The location is Great and the Staff is Nice!

- 1/5
The carpet was unvacuumed, there was one very thin blanket on the bed during an 11 degree cold snap and no additional blankets in the room, a mattress on a platform rather than a box spring, one tiny bottle of shampoo (no conditioner), one trash can in the kitchen where you were also supposed to dispose of your bathroom trash, very old and threadbare towels, and most significantly for a woman staying alone: the door opens out to the open air (not an interior hallway) and the deadbolt had been removed. The breakfast had no utensils or napkins available. I realize this is a business and not a charity, but the relentless focus on saving every single penny veered toward ridiculous.

Very little Smells; cigar smoke; odd food smells. Very noisy.

Carpet was so dirty, the bottoms of our feet were black. Had to wash them and wear our sandals getting out of bed to go to the rest room. We were also awaken by staff looking for a plunger.

It took the receptionist about 10 minutes to actually come up front and check me in/out. My room smelled like cigarettes and didn't look properly cleaned. Would not stay here again.

clean room
- 3/5
the room was 50 degrees when I got in (it was 25 outside) it took 4 hours to warm up to 70. and the fire alarm was beeping all night and the remote for the tv didnt work.
- 4/5
The room was clean except for the pet stains on the carpet in several places. Although we were staying during the Thanksgiving holiday and did not need the kitchen at all, there were no kitchen amenities even though the website says “fully stocked kitchen“. There were no glasses, silverware, cookware, utensils, plates, etc… Just one kitchen towel.
- 5/5
Low expectations were not met. Place was falling apart and service was non existent. Never again. Terrible hotel in a wonderful location.

- 2/5
My room smelled terrible. Like the inside of a shoe. Room was clean but still smelled.
- 2/5
No hot water. Room in poor condition; stains on walls and carpet. Clogged toilet. Exterior and sidewalks very dirty. Worst hotel I’ve stayed at in many years.
- 2/5
location was great and the room was OK. close to restaurants and shops. steps away from RTC. staff missing from front desk. unengaged and indifferent. worn facilities - lobby, exterior, hallways, stairs. unpleasant smell in the lobby
- 2.5/5
Only a 10 minute walk to Metro. Bed was clean and comfortable. No desk clerk available for 8 or 10 minutes when I arrived. Old garden style building with insulation strewn about in breezeway. Room smelled slightly of cigarettes and smoke residue on door frame.
- 5/5
Everytime you would leave your room - the next time you went back in, the key wouldn’t work. So that meant that you had to go back to the front desk anytime you got back from somewhere because the keys needed replaced. Ridiculous.
- 0.5/5
no breakfast cockroaches, dead room phone.not handicap room as requested

2. Room was smelly and dirty 3. AC was not working when i turn on it was making lot of noise
- 4.5/5
The after hours staff was very friendly and helpful.
- 1.5/5
Free parking and easy access to room No one at the front desk to pick the calls and/or attend the guest arrival Room was muggy probably due to bad/old carpets. Refrigerator leak caused a water puddle in the middle of the kitchen Extra blankets request was refused due to lack of supply
- 1/5
We promptly left the room and told the lobby attendant what we found and that we would not be staying there. They did not give us any trouble and promptly refunded our money.
- 2/5
Don’t stay here! Unsafe. People in the room next to me smoking weed on the balcony. Cops came and arrested a guest in a room below me. 5 cop cars. Room was horrible. AC unit was acting up. Way too loud. Carpet was disgusting. Couldn’t walk barefoot. Stay away!
- 0.5/5
Everything - Hotel was smelling, extremely dirty the air conditional was very noisy and goes on and off every 30 minutes, I just couldn't sleep. I regret staying there I had very horrible experience. Even for free it still not worth staying
- 2/5
Customer service is okay. Room is veru dirty. Smells like cigarette upon checking in. Someone took off the smoke detector. Stove doesnt work..carpet os so dirty.
- 2/5
The room was clean(ish), has all basic needs and has airco (nice bonus). The room is advertised having a kitchen, but upon arrival all cabinets are completely empty (no plates, eating utensils, etc.), rendering the kitchen essentially useless. The most disappointing experience was however the arrival. After a long flight of 8 hours, I wanted to check in, but I was denied my keys before paying double for my first week. Apparently they didn't receive my money from booking.com (which I paid well (2 months) in advance). I showed the guy at the desk however my proof of payment of booking.com, as well as the transaction on my banking app, but still he didn't want to hand me the keys before paying double (assuming every oversees tourist can just spit out 700+ dollars upon arrival in the US). This issue only got solved a week later when the manager got involved, for which I am thankfull. I understand issues can happen and do often occur with payments etc., but the sheer disinterest and lack of help from the guy at the desk was just shamefull. Other than that the stay was rather enjoyable.
- 2/5
Location Bedsheet was not clean. There is no identifiers for room. It was challenging to find the room. There was no water bottle in the room.
- 5/5
Everything was good and the reception so polite.
- 2/5
Breakfast offered doesn’t deserve that name, just some instant oats, coffee and hot water for tea were the only options.
- 4/5
One of the rules they let you know on a brochure they handout to you along the key ( card ) to open your room's door , is to be courteous, respectful and not to be noisy from 10p-8a on my 2nd night stay from 3 nights I was suppose to work on a Sunday and be there at 7a. I couldn't I had to call out from work at 4a because the fire alarm started to go off, I got scared and it hurted my ears the sound was too loud, I had to go out my room and I saw other tenants out , we were all scared. It all finished around 6a and I decided to go to the lobby for some coffee and breakfast treats, as I was there, a tenant spoke to the rep in the office and said that ppl on the 3rd floor caused the alarms to go off, apparently they were so noisy that tenant could go to sleep and they were so disrespectful. I didn't like that experience, and the garbage cans they have close to the stairways where full like they dont empty and take care of them daily, other than that my room was comfortable and clean. That I did liked and close to a dunkins Chick-fil-A and a bank.
- 1/5
The room was not clean it smelt like pee, very uncomfortable the walls are black and I would like my money back I had my 6 month old baby there I not pleased
- 3/5
Convenience location
- 2/5
Bugs were also an issue. In a humid environment and older building I do expect to see a lot of bugs outside; however, I expect NOT to see them coming out of the walls in my bathroom or scurrying under my bed. Roaches are a fact of life, but if someone is paying to stay in your hotel it behooves you to combat infestations in your rooms. The wall unit AC was not verry effective in keeping the room comfortable, and there were oddly exposed wires running from it. Some of the other guests seemed to be on drugs and wandering the premises at night. It made for a rather uneasy feeling during a business trip where I really needed to be focused. Old popcorn ceilings too, which isn't necessarily a problem, unless they contain asbestos... which judging by the state of the hotel, I'd be a little surprised if they have been tested for it. The hotel staff banged on my door like they were the Police about 5 minutes before my checkout time to ensure I was leaving on time. Trust me guys, I had no intention of staying longer...
- 1/5
Showed up and waited 10 minutes for someone to show up at the front desk. They told me there was not a room available. Horrible experience.
- 4/5
The property area is across the street from a major subway/metro station (Silver line), so getting to DC is a breeze. The office is clean. The room though, is a different story. Upon entering my room, I could smell the mildew and mold. Furniture and decor are dated, but still very much usable. No bugs except for one spider in the shower. The room itself is clean. The fridge was very clean, like someone took a lot of time cleaning it. Some burnt food marks on the cooktop, but that’s to be expected for what it is. The sheets, blanket, and pillows are very clean - I couldn’t find dirty spots using my UV and black lights. The main door, however, has a gap on the bottom, and you can smell whatever your neighbors are smoking. At night, it was somewhat loud until 2am; people were walking around and moving furniture upstairs, and people were checking in late and talking loud outside. I never felt unsafe at any point. This area is well-patrolled by the Fairfax County Sheriff office. You have 3 eateries within 2 minute walking distance, but you could always Uber to the Reston Town Center for a lot more options just 5 minute drive away. Overall, I’d recommend this place for single females with kids.

Convient location. However. Very loud area

Breakfast was two types of bag muffins? Front staff hard to understand, air conditioner roars on and off all night no matter how you set the fan, parking lot dirty. We won't return.

Front desk was not manned as stated and had to call out for someone. Room was clean but there was a definite strong smoke smell. Bathroom in need of repair and upgrades would be helpful. Outside was dirty and littered. Would definitely not stay again.
- 3/5
I think I almost got mugged in the parking
- 3/5
Needs maintenance. Some areas clean, some not so much. Room smelled like dog.
- 4/5
Staff were nice and a accommodating. The room was clean but the furniture was older. Parking was an issue-they had the smallest parking lot I’ve ever seen at an Extended Stay. I parked in a handicap spot jgst so i could be closer to the room.
- 1/5
Worst experience ever
- 1/5
This is not like it looks on the pictures. Its very unclean and shouldn't have the rating it does. I wouldn't recommend staying here. I refunded my money after just a few minutes.
- 1/5
Not cleaned properly
- 1/5
Place is placed with misplaced families and drug addicts. Not a good look for someone disabled and looking for a few nights to stay. Place inside is filthy and not sanitized well, carpet stinks and they should remove it due to a bunch of dogs that stay there.
- 1/5
Booked and paid for room thru Expedia. When I got there they said they were out of Queen rooms and that I would have to pay $50 extra for King size. Total dishonest attempt at a shakedown.
- 5/5
I like that there was a stove, a refrigerator, a microwave oven, a hair dryer, and a bathtub, and that the room was clean and quiet, all for a very reasonable price. I would have liked it even more if my room had an ironing board, but I couldn't find one there, even though there was an iron.
- 2/5
Sketchy individuals loitering about on the adjacent street, I did not feel safe walking about. Non smoking room next to me had pot smoke wafting thru the air A garbage can at the end of the hall & visible to me every time I walked out my door was never emptied even when garbage was spilling out onto the ground. At one point the housekeeping cart was parked right next to the can & you’d think the garbage would be taken care of but it was not . One afternoon I was returning to my room & there was police activity in the parking lot investigating a van. Inside the lobby smelled like cigarette smoke. My Room wasn’t too bad but had a heavy artificial scent that I was sensitive to, turning on the A/C took care of the scent after awhile. several lamps were not working @ the drain plug in the shower was broken .I won’t be booking at any Extended Stays In the future as my sister-in-law had a similar experience in a different state.
- 1/5
Room locked was kind of broke. Too much trash in different areas of hotel.
- 5/5
Spacious
- 5/5
Great value. Nice rooms well equipped.
- 1/5
DO NOT STAY HERE THEY HAVE ROACHES WHEN WE ASKED FOR REFUND WE WERE TOLD TO GO THRU EXPEDIA AND THEY KEPT OUR PEE FEE ANYWAY ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING
- 1/5
The property said non smoking but the room smelled like cigarette. Not safe with the baby at all.
- 3/5
Semi last minute booking as ive been in the process of moving. There’s nothing fancy about the facility but it was clean and convenient to everything. I locked myself out of my room and someone was able to assist me at 6:30 am. Dependable stay!
- 5/5
Area around hotel is nice -- restaurants. Is about 10 minute walk from the metro
- 3/5
Room was not really that clean; stains on the sheets and bathroom could have used a lot of help. There was nothing in the kitchen (no pots/pans or utensils) so unable to cook. Also there was no coffee maker. I was down at the breakfast area at 8am and there were 3 breakfast bars - that was it for food - so basically a terrible selection. Not worth the money and the area seemed a bit unsafe. At 4:30AM there was a woman yelling for her kid to get up so pretty thin walls. Will never stay there again.
- 2/5
most certainly not be staying there. outside not clean, room not clean, water pressure in shower poor.
- 4/5
Nice and clean and affordable hotel in Reston, VA near the Reston Town Center Metro stop. It is a "long-stay" setup so no daily cleaning or tower amenity updates, which are OK as the supply at check-in is enough. They do offer clean for stay longer than 7-days without charge.
- 3/5
I booked two rooms. They were not near each other.. we had an issue with the bathroom. Needing a plunger.. they couldn’t find one.. their solution was for us to use a bathroom on another floor..
- 1/5
I strongly urge you to consider other options before booking Reston's ESA. My two cents: AVOID it. Your ROI will be hugely negative. I experienced multiple issues, including safety, cleanliness, broken furniture, unhealthy conditions, and rude personnel. Please SEE the attached images. I am unsure if ESA corporate sends compliance and standards inspectors regularly, as there are at least 15 areas of improvement in a single stay. The website is not allowing me to upload photos, but I will. My experience at Reston's ESA has been one of the worst I have had in over 1,500 nights at hotels worldwide.
- 3/5
Free breakfast at most other hotels are more than just coffee and breakfast bars!
- 5/5
I stayed at extended stay Reston for a couple of months. The staff was wonderful actually they became like family. All of the staff was awesome however Jose, Nora and Kumar were the the ones I came in contact with the most and they were all awesome. Nora Auto maternity leave and I'd like to say congratulations on your new bundle of joy! If I ever needed a place to stay in Reston again without a doubt I choose this place because of the excellent customer service from this wonderful staff. Cheers to extended stay Reston. Take care!
- 1/5
Rough people sre in these rooms. Woken up at 1:30 am by a number of people screaming and cursing. Very unpleasant.
- 3/5
The room was quite run down. Cabinets and drawers were broken, bathroom sink was stopped up, tub dripped heavily the whole time, etc. The room was not very clean. And the breakfast? There was no breakfast! Coffee and NutriGrain bars is NOT breakfast.
- 3/5
Nice surroundings but facilities are not well maintained.
- 5/5
It is cost effective
- 5/5
I only needed to stay here for 2 nights but the room was comfortable overall. Parking was easy. The only downside in the room was the refrigerator which worked but wasn't very cold which was a little concerning since we needed to keep some medication cold during the stay
- 3/5
Old run down. Franchise needs to step up.
- 5/5
easy to check in convenient. best breakfast ever
- 3/5
In general it was clean - some vague stains on towels and sheets but they were still washed and clean. Very thin, lightweight blanket on bed which was the main uncomfortable factor about the stay. In general, it was totally fine but little quirks had been overlooked - the toilet flush was a button hidden by the counter in the bathroom and only one night stand on one side, that kind of thing.
- 1/5
Bugs in the room. No pillows.
- 5/5
fantastic service convenient and value
- 5/5
Located close to the Metro and the Reston towncenter it was what we were looking for
- 1/5
The bad: no breakfast including coffee during breakfast hours. Had to request another room. First one stank bad. Second one was ok in this respect. No shower curtain in room. Generally not very clean. Conclusion: I would not stay here again. It is a run-down property with poor management. I mean, no spoons for oatmeal and front desk could not come up with one? Come on!
- 5/5
Very neat and tidy, the staff was very kind and helpful, if you need anything all you have to do is ask and they'll help you out
- 5/5
Older property so keep that in mind, but room was clean & bed was comfortable. Location is good. Front desk staff were very friendly.
- 2/5
Or toilet, no one came for housekeeping too. Booked it very last min at a fairly high cost , it did not match the price charged.
- 3/5
I liked the property was close to a target and a gas station.
- 1/5
This property is quite dirty though the rooms are clean.
- 2/5
Able to walk to downtown is the only reason I selected this location.
- 2/5
It is made to look like a hotel in photos, but its actually a motel. It was also not very clean. Marks in toilet, dirt/drbris on counters and table. Blood spot on one of the pillows. Loud, doors not well sealed either.
- 1/5
Smella like mold
- 2/5
It is cheap for the area so you can save money. But, outside was not clean and inside had minor stains and scratches. So, you get what you pay for. If you just want a bed to sleep on in an area where activities, stores and the metro are easily accessible, this fits the bill. If you want something a little more cleaner, but more expensive, then this is not the place.
- 1/5
A complete dump. Trash piled up in front of rooms. Hair on “clean” towels. Cabinets were all broken or chipped up. No utensils, glasses, anything…..for an extended stay. Other guests slamming doors all night. Stay away.
- 3/5
The staff was very polite and pleasant. The areas is awesome, walking distance to a bunch of restaurants. Bathroom shower was not cleaned. The bed was a bit rough but what I would expect in a budget hotel.
- 2/5
The staff was always helpful and responsive. The condition of the room's furniture was as expected given the low price. However, the cleanliness was subpar. We found several bugs during our stay, floor was dirty. They sprayed bug poison when requested, and tried to clean the room, but it wasn't up to normal cleanliness expectations. In addition to that, there seem to be several people living there, not just passing through, they stay outside and sit in chairs at the front of their room. It didn't feel unsafe, but was close to it. The surrounding area is nice, and it's only a short walk to the Metro. Breakfast as expected, only a couple things like muffins and nutrition bars, but had coffee and hot water for tea.
- 4/5
For the very reasonable price under half the more upscale local options, everything was as expected. The only exceptions of overflowing garbage bins near the walkways to the room and the non-adjustable AC direction blew towards the bed. Slight annoyances, otherwise perfectly basic stay with a kitchen I didn't use.
- 3/5
Worked out well for what I needed
- 3/5
My one night stay was fine. I did notice that the exterior walkways and stairs were dirty. Some of the people staying there looked unsavory.
- 1/5
Not a place to stay for a family
- 2/5
I spoke with several customers and they had the same issue When i went to check in, the general manager saw me but picked up a blue cleaning towel and started dusting. And I had to wait 15 minutes to check in. He speaks roughly to customers. As CFO for a company, I would not have him represent our company.
- 4/5
The hallways and stairs were dirty. A good power-washing can clean the area up.
- 1/5
The room over all was horrible. It stinks all the time something weird. Whoever was smoking weed, the weed smell was always in the room. There were bugs in the bathroom. They were supposed to provide cooking materials which are mostly unavailable when you request from the front office. In your website, you claim hotel provides breakfast. First of all, there was no breakfast. It is so called "grab-and-go"; however, they didn't either have snack bars or hot water. You should do a through research before putting that information on your website. There was no house keeping! I stayed 7 nights and my room was never cleaned! Stay away from this hotel.
- 4/5
The units were efficient and clean. The beds were comfortable. It was easy to access the property. There were several places outside to relax with friends. I did not like that I had to go to the office and request the coffee pot, the coffee, plates, silverware and cups/glasses. The breakfast left a lot to be desired. Staff was friendly.

Other rooms on the 2nd floor were fine. They are dark and not 5 star but what would anyone expect for the price. Buyer beware, if you are a person who is looking for the cleanest, fancy type spot, this IS NOT IT!!! Keep in mind there are people who use places like this to stay when they have no where else to go and along with their belongings they can bring passenger of the insect kind. The plus side above some of the more expensive places is the cost and the kitchen.

There were no hangers, hair dryer, nor dishes in the room. The coffee in the lounge was bad. The bathtub porcelain was worn and streaked. No uce trsys in freezer.

Right in the heart of everything great, but the room had dead and flying bugs. There were no provisions for cooking or eating. I will never stay there again.

The room was falling apart. Laminate on the cabinets was peeling off. The floor was bubbling up in kitchen area. The carpet near the bed was soaking wet. I put a towel down so I wouldn't step on it and it soaked through and it was so brown and gross. Not to mention the 5 dead beetles on the kitchen floor I spotted as soon as I walked in. If you choose extended stay, go to Herndon. It's better.

Its good for long term stay and the management should add proper breakfast instead of only coffee and tea

Place is okay. Not for you if looking for super new, high end accommodations. Not really the hotels fault regarding the other patrons. The sidewalks outside the room could really be cleaned. The rooms are not hateful just a bit old. I would stay again forna few days when needed but not somewhere I could see spending more than a week. Be sure to bring any kitchen items you would need like pots, pans silverware, plates, bowls etc. Everything else seemed to work.

Pull out couch was a full size mattress, and it had a twin mattress in it. Roaches in the bathroom. Microwave was terribly dirty and had no glass circle inside.

Terrible service, if you are looking to stay in a place that has a kitchen this is not the recommended place, it has a kitchen that you cannot even use because it does not have absolutely any utensils, they say that you must request it through an application and that they will bring them to your room, which apart from being ridiculous is a lie, when we arrived and realized this, I tried to use the application to purchase the kitchen utensils and I could not do it because they warn you that if you did not book directly with them you will not have access, I called reception without any response, we went to reception and did not find anyone who would help us, I contacted the hotel's customer service line for almost half an hour so that the only solution was to tell me that there was already someone at reception and that I should go request them there, when I was finally able to make the request to the receptionist, the surprise is that he tells me that they had nothing to provide me, that everything had run out, at my insistence he only provided me with 4 plates, two spoons, a carving knife and a glass, I asked for at least one pot to be able to use the stove And he told me that they didn't have one, not to mention that all this happened after we arrived in the middle of a storm, why do you want a kitchen if you don't have anything , not even to make yourself a coffee? They have a stove, a fridge and a microwave, but you have to bring everything else. Does this make sense?

The property was old and a little run down.

The place was not well maintained in parts of it. Our first room was dumpy, and the a/c didn't work, they did move us to a better room with working a/c, very nice encounter with front desk clerk.

The bed was clean but the room had grimy carpets, chipped countertops and general maintenance issues with paint and esthetics. Hot water worked so at least I had a good sleep and shower after a transatlantic flight.

I have stayed at this location before, but now I find it is not kept well. There were people hanging outside their room doors smoking drinking and talking loudly. The first room I was given had no TV and the door was held to the hinges with duct tape. I demanded another room. Needless to say I was disappointed. I stayed but got out early.
