When you work or own Hotel you have to take 1.5% of lost of Linen including (wash cloths and towel) also expect Room be a little Messi not much bc the floor was stick He abandoned me from return his property talos bc linen (2) wash cloth (1) towels according to him was washable Also try to keep my $100 deposit bc his (2) wash cloth and floor was sticky In addition Was NO DAMAGE IN THE ROOM working TV no hold in the wall bathroom was very functional For that being said Never Again return with this however or property of this Hotel and the worse part the the representation by CHOICE I’m putting a complaint with the took bc I work for them Thx you

Check in was really easy. I was allergic to something in the room once I checked in but staff was very accommodating & moved me to another room with no issues.

Conveniently located. Room was dirty, bathroom light slowly burnt out. I thought the shower curtain rod was red, but it was just rusted. Noise from traffic in the parking lot in and out through the whole night. No internet, and most of the time, no one at the front desk.

During my one-week stay I had several problems with my key access to my room. I paid ahead of time for the full week my room access card would not work on at least 5 occasions. Each time I had to go to the office to have my keycard "fixed", and had to wait in line behind other guests who were signing in to even talk to the counter person. The Motel seems to be understaffed. Having said that, the room was clean,; and otherwise adequate for my needs. My phone didn't work for my entire stay, I was told it needed a part, but the part never came. As a result of this I had to walk to the office when I needed to contact the front desk.

The Sheets were stained and bathroom had hair in it and a left over hair pin. I asked for this to be corrected. Someone I believe maybe a manager came to my the room and looked over everything and apologized and said that he would have housekeeper take care of this. I came back to new stained sheets and a somewhat cleaner bathroom. I asked again for new sheets and got another set of stained brought to my room. I took these back and gave up…

Room was filthy when we checked in. Tons of hair in the bed, mystery stains, weird smells, dirty toilot/tub, clogged sink. When we went downstairs to inform the manager, there were multiple cockroaches on the porch. We didn't even stay the night.

The toilet didn’t flush no one was around to help. We literally had to use the outside bathrooms. The staff kicked us out and was extremely rude after being minutes behind check out. This place wouldn’t be worth 20$ a night, don’t waste your money here.

For the price I actually expected kind of a poor place but we really just needed a place to sleep for a few hours before hitting the road again. I was VERY surprised at how clean and updated the place was. The beds were very comfortable. We checked in last minute, we thought we would be able to drive straight through to our destination. Because it was after midnight, all the other places were wanting us to check-in at 3 in the afternoon. And we needed something now and it was like 1am. I really liked that I was able to check in last minute. And the staff were friendly. I will absolutely stay again if in the area. I wish we could have had 1st floor as my spouse is an amputee, however we were very thankful for the late check in and the comfort and cleanliness so that honestly the 2nd floor did not even really matter to us and we managed just fine getting him to the second floor.

The rooms were clean and comfortable

Terrible, ther room smelled bad. The cob webs on the ceiling, bedding not clean, i had to buy my own while there. I checked out a day early because I couldn't take it anymore. They tried to charge my card after they refunded the extra night. There was a 100 dollar security deposit that was not mentioned before checking in. This was absolutely the worst room I've ever seen.

Parking ok. Beds supposedly Queen but were very small I believe it was a full. Tv was not good. Remote would only change with number key in. Staff was hard to understand and not real friendly.

The rooms are clean, the location is convenient to where I was going, and the price is just right.

Different lighting as well as a light brightness switch

We were told we would receive a refund for one night; however, Expedia has since informed us they have been unable to reach the property to process it. The situation was concerning and left us feeling uncomfortable. I cannot say for certain what prompted their actions, but the experience did not feel handled appropriately. I would not choose to stay here again. I would also advise others to be cautious when traveling with guests who are 18–25 and may appear younger, as they may be approached for ID when the primary guest is not present.

All the negative reviewers need to adjust their expectations and chill. Econolodge is a BUDGET hotel. No-frills budget. If you want luxury, go to the Ritz-Carlton! My room was clean, bed was comfortable and the staff was accommodating. I arrived 1.5 hours early for check-in and they got me in a room that was in the process of being cleaned within 10 minutes. They could have made me come back! This will be my base of operations from now on when I go to Richmond.

It was fine for the price. The AC/Heat was incredibly loud when it came on. If not for that then 3 stars

The room was nice and simple. Nothing special or exciting. The AC unit struggled a bit, made a loud noise and did not stay on like it should have. It also caused a weed smell to come through when it was on. We had to spray a air freshener directly into it to get the smell to not be so prominent. It was super noticeable each time we came back to the room. The bed was decent but not as comfortable as most hotel beds and it did squeak, a lot. The toilet was also experiencing some technical difficulties where I had to manually lift the top to the tank and get the system to work so we could flush the toilet. We also had a bug on our bag as we were heading out. Not the greatest experience but did the job while we were there.

Rooms are clean, area is not noisy, and prices are good. Housekeeping is attentive.

The metal bed made noise every time you got up. They provided just a little soap. The television had a line in it. I needed it because it was close to the hospital where my son was staying. I will never stay there again. A continental breakfast was a joke.

Room was acceptably clean and beds were reasonably comfortable. Smelled faintly of smoke/musty but not too bad. Staff were professional.

It's Fair

Went back 20 mins after checkout to get my charger. Cleaning staff had already gotten to it. Front desk got my cable but not the brick. Housekeeping is not trustworthy these days. Never stay there again. NEVER!!!

I really don’t know what people are complaining about. It’s an older building, but the room was updated and very clean (see photos). The bad was comfortable. The man at check-in was polite. Breakfast was minimal, but fine (as described, anyway). I would stay here again.

I had kids with me, they gave us smoking room. We asked for transfer but they said no. Although there so many options to change. The room smell so bad.

I had to request new sheets, bathroom was dirty, and a lollipop was on the floor. was told someone would come clean room in am, we were gone from 8-12 the next day no one came to room till after 2 and all they did was change the sheets I changed the night before. They said they would be back to clean bathroom, never came back. I also requested non smoking and was put in smoking room and could not change room

Used this as just a quick sleep and go spot on our way to cherry blossoms in DC The room was clean and pretty updated The breakfast was surprisingly nice and included waffles It’s a no frills place but comfy and clean for a place to sleep Lots of restaurants around the hotel.

The fridge was so thick in ice that it didn’t cool off our stuff,very disappointed I will not go back to This type of hotel , false advertising.

Was very noisy. The people in the room above me sounded like they were using a blender often on all night into the early hours of the morning someone came pulling in in a car with loud music around 1 AM then at around 6:30 AM someone was outside the room Talking very loudly back-and-forth to someone else while they were loading their vehicle. The room was clean, but the split unit that was in the wall made very loud noises when it cut on and off that woke me up. The second night there was someone out in the parking lot bouncing a basketball until after 11 PM. Could also hear someone had their radio/TV on very loudly

The worst experience of my life. I arrive at check in and I’m told I booked a smoking room. I would absolutely never book a smoking room. I don’t smoke and I hate the smell. The front desk rep kept arguing with me telling me I booked a smoking room until I showed him my receipt. He continues to check us in. I ask him if the room is non smoking and he says yes. We get to our room and it reeks of smoke. Immediately, we return to the front desk. He gives us another room. This room also seems like a smoking room. Sheets are dirty with holes in multiple areas. There are bugs. Again, we returned to the front desk, instead of offering us another room. He offers to cancel and refund. At this point it’s 1130pm, my son and I had to figure out where to stay in an area where most hotels were sold out. It was a nightmare!

Had money disappear from my room while I was out.

The room was clean and well made up. We did request a non smoking room and it did not smell like cigarettes, but it did reek of weed. It may have been coming from the neighbors, but I am pretty sure it was our room from a previous guest. Also, when I book and pay online I do not like to have an additional fee upon check-in, hotels.com already has my cc#. Lastly, while the was comfortably clean my mattress was not particularly good. I am a side sleeper and I woke up with sore hips.

Really glad we chose this place. Saw tons of reviews of bugs in hotels in Richmond and surrounding area. Did not want bugs. My favorite thing about this place was the cleanliness. I had a good, comfy night’s stay in a decently-priced place with a safe parking lot (in my experience), clean room, and the staff were fine. Came down in the morning and had coffee and clementines. Hubby had a waffle, cereal, cranberry juice and coffee. They had bagels, sliced bread, cream cheese, basic breakfast for an econolodge. No hot bar, which was expected. Only downside of our trip was when we came to check in at 4pm (check in at 3pm), they checked us in, gave us keys and we went and found the housekeeper wasn’t done. She needed 15-20 more minutes. Took about 10. That put us behind our schedule but no complaint other than that. She was a nice woman. Would stay, again.

I have to give it a poor rating, we were charged 100.00 dollars for possible damage, essentials, etc. I was told it would be refunded, but it was not. We left the room clean with no damage and completed our own cleaning. Their cleaning service never cleaned our room. She was either on her phone or drinking coffee. She would only change towels. We had our own cleaning products and cleaned daily. We left the cleaning products there in the room. We left the room cleaner before our arrival. No damages. There are many other hotels to choose from, so I will choose more carefully next time. The reviews were good when I chose but I will upgrade next time. i would like t have better service and honesty.

Lazy house keepers did not sweep floor or replace soap or replace cig-burned bedding in non-smoking room. Breakfast was waffles or cereal, no eggs or meat (not good choices for a diabetic).

The phone in the room wasn’t operating, but other than that it was fine

My first "Non-Smoking" room reeked of cigs. The front staff quickly got me another room which was ok, until I discovered a cig burn hole in the mattress pad. I asked for another mattress pad, the housecleaner turned the burned one sideways thinking I would not notice. Breakfast was ok, but the only hot item was waffles, no eggs or bacon/sausage. Booking thru Expedia/etc is much cheaper than booking directly.

The floor was disgusting. Either it wasn’t cleaned at all or someone used dirty mop water. Thankfully I brought some extra shoes. The bathroom light didn’t work or the bathroom fan. I had a flight change and was looking for a cheap place to stay for the night. This place was worse than I was expecting

The floors of the room itself seemed clean; the sink was clean and so was the toilet. But, when I think of the other unclean stuff, who knows how clean things really were.

The smoke detectors light red and it appears someone is watching. Through the microwave. And screws in the walls and on the floor. Small enough to be a nail. Showers may also have cameras as well.

The hotel was a mess. I reserved a nonsmoking room which they did not offer when I got there. The bathroom was full of mold and black water stains throughout. There was dirt and dbree all over the floor. It was a dirty room that is not what I reserved. In addition to this it stunk.

She was amazing but the room, the bed, the property overall were terrible! I clicked on 3 stars or better when choosing where to book. This wasn’t even worthy of 1 star. Your sorting algorithm/system for quality need some serious attention!

The bathroom sink drained very very slowly

For starters this is the second room i have booked through this site that shows me one rate and when i check in its actually more! Secondly, the First room issued to my wife and myself was occupied, unfortunately i didnt find out until we tried entering the room! We traveled all evening and didnt get there until after midnight. Thankfully for our sake the other occupants didnt harm us! Go back to front desk and get no appology, no anything.

Property was ok, but area to eat breakfast was too small for the amount of guests. Not many selections. Did not even waste time trying to eat. Looks like they only had waffles and cereal. Went to Cracker Barrel on the way home. Front desk lady was too soft spoken and may have been overworked. I’m not sure, she just was not personable. She may have been going through something or had a lot on her mind. Overall the stay was ok for the one night I stayed!

Booked for econo lodge ended up staying at it's sister location(same area different named hotel) only one of the lights worked in the room besides the bathroom light. The shower curtain was moldy, and the bed was so hard( I like a firm bed too) I only got a couple hours of sleep, I could have spelt iny car for free and got a better sleep. Will never be staying here again.

They don’t respect every guest each guest gets treated different. They need to clean teach the housekeeper to clean not do haft a job . They was dead bugs and the bathroom was not clean good.even when you brought it to the front desk.

I like the customer services from the receptionists, had an issue with the room and the receptionists was able to switch to a different room right away, but the room had a strong smell after spraying and leaving the door ope for 30 minutes the smell kind of went away.

The room itself was nice. The floors were very sticky as if they hadn’t been cleaned for a while. Staff was very dry when speaking. Didn’t try the breakfast since there were so many other options available in the area.

I couldn’t tell if someone with a motorcycle was idling outside my room or if it was just the loud AC. Ok, if you just need a bed/shower. Breakfast was a few bagels/bread, cereal & a waffle maker.

Our initial room smelled like cigarette smoke, so we were offered two more rooms, which also smelled strongly of smoke. These were all smoke free rooms. The one we ended up with wasn't as bad. The front desk person was very friendly and accommodating. I just wish people didn't smoke in their non-smoking rooms.

Room was not cleaned and beds were not even made. Told the front desk and they gave us new room. Went to the room and room had a bad smell of smoking. Told the front desk that we paid for non-smoking. They changed the room but new room has ants on the bed. It was just terrible. Went to front desk for 3 times and not a single time staff apologized for any of this.

It was a little dirty, like they do the bare minimum and hope you don't catch it. And have roaches... And when complained the guy told me that they can not control things that come from the outside...

Walked into our room and went to the bathroom only to find a dirty pair of underwear behind the bathroom door! We were there for a baseball tournament and needed breakfast on the go… my kids went to make a waffle to eat in the car on the way to the game (didn’t have time to stay and eat) and was told (by the staff) the were not allowed to take the waffle with them. I’ve never heard of this! It was ridiculous.

The room smelled bad. They had tried to mask it with some spray but the stink was bad. Terrible odor. And the noise from the parking out front was relentless... car doors banging shut, the beep beep of car locks. Very noisy. The room itself was large and in good share. But the stink was really awful. Kind of nasty. Not a good stay.

Beds had chest/beard hair on the sheets and pillows, toilet had (you can imagine) hair in it as well. The bed frame (metal) was visibly dirty and had a sticky substance on it as well. The smell was almost unbearable. The AC unit had a large amount of black/brown dust built up in the filter

Newly renovated and spotless.

We arrived very late and it took 20 minutes of the desk clerk on the computer to check us in (there was no one in front of us). First we were charged more than it was reserved for (he did fix it). Then we couldn't get in the room, went back he rekeyed the cards and still couldn't get in, this time waking the elderly man already in the room. Went back again and was assigned to a different room, luckily empty but was not the king bed we had reserved but two full size beds. Said something at checkout in the morning and all we got was a "I'm sorry."

Didn’t really know what to expect was told the hotel was not in the best neighborhood the room was fine no carpet which was great all hotels should rip up carpet and put in hardwood floors over all for the price the room was fine

We had 2 rooms. One of them was missed by housekeeping most of our 5 day stay.
