Nothing We just stopped by to spend the night, we had two mini dogs, we checked into a room where pets are allowed, but the room smelled of cat urine. I’ve never seen a more terrible hotel.

First off I was checked in to the room 148. The smell was off of the tub was nasty dirty so I went back up there and got a different room sent me the room 254. That was OK. It stink in there too, but it was better than the first one at least I thought no phone in the room no ashtray in the room so I had to run around and ask the housekeeper for a phone then the maintenance man finally bring it then later on need more towels call to the front desk told me to come up there. I go up there no towels and gave me two rolls of toilet paper. They tell me that the laundry room was closed. I worked in housekeeper for 30 years, you always supposed to have extra towels and washcloths up at the front desk for your guest when the laundry room closed so the next day I went out to go get washcloths and towels from the housekeeper she was on the phone told me to wait a minute. I told her get off the phone to give me my washcloths and towels I am a guest so I will never ever stay there again and I would like half of my money back.

Room has been updated. Exterior looks old. It is a building behind an Econo Lodge.
- 5/5
Loved this place. Perfect price for a long stay. Nice and clean freshly renovated.. Breakfast has too many rules, but besides that... best place around.. No bugs, room was clean and TV worked perfect.. AC/Heater unit is aged but works great... It's a GEM in the rough.. Had to leave a few places because of sub-par conditions.. This place was my finally spot and extended because it was perfect fit for me.. 1) Fast Internet. 2) No Bugs. 3) Nice Bed. 4)AC/Heater working. AND at a good price.

only really giving a 2 star cause they were understanding when i cancelled our second stay. however, the room we stayed in was horribly gross, and even though it was one of the smoking rooms the condition could have been A LOT better. there were something of burn holes in the coned cover and the bed felt like laying on cardboard. it was a plus that there were no bed bugs… but that’s about all i could say. i would not stay here again and would not recommend staying here. we were in the rear part of the inn with almost no lights. staff was okay… a bit snippy but nice enough

- 1/5
Room had hair and particles on one of the beds. Pictures listed are false
- 4/5
My room was not as clean as it should have been. There was hair in the sink and I don't think the sheets were changed
- 3/5
Breakfast was limited. There was no coffee maker in the room as listed in the amenities.
- 4/5
Bed base is sheet metal and sounds like a very loud drum if at minimum, brushed against. Suggest some spray foam coverage on inside, or glue some fiberglass batting to dull or negate the noise. It's troubling to hear (I wear hearing aids) if spouse brushes up against it while walking by.
- 2/5
There were clothes from the previous guest left in the room, The shower was dirty, the refrigerator was dirty and did not work, no ice machine to be found, not enough parking, Some of the lights in the room did not work, "breakfast" area was in another building and was minimal. I would not stay here again.
- 4/5
The room and the area itself is a lot cleaner than before when I’ve stayed. It was a great deal for the whole weekend. The shopping and restaurants around the area is also great!!
- 3/5
Ok
- 3/5
The room was cleaned every day staff was very accommodating but i had a plumbing problem for three days i stayed for a week
- 1/5
Staff upfront had no idea what he was doing. Super rude and inconsiderate. He makes you feel dumb when the problem is on his end. Super unprofessional.
- 5/5
Awesome
- 5/5
Very clean room, can control temp to choosing. Daily house cleaning for fresh towels.. On site vending machines, free ice machines, and coin pay laundry machines.. Price was fair... $50 deposit for under 1 week. $100 deposit for over 1 week stay.
- 1/5
The staff were very rude and uncooperative. The front desk man even told me to never come back. Says I’ll never get a room when I wasn’t rude or anything and was just trying to check in a little early which they’ve let me do before.
- 5/5
waffles for breakfast were amazing!!!
- 1/5
This was the most disgustingly disappointing, waste of money motel I’ve ever stayed in. Not ONE thing clean, and so many broken things I had to leave and didn’t stay the night. First of all, the bathroom was absolutely vile. the shower was dirty with footprints, used soap, dirty used shower rags hanging on the shower pole, the toilet was broken (it had a leak, then eventually it overflowed onto the floor). The bedsheets/pillowcases were NOT washed at all, and had stains and hair on both beds. There were pieces of food everywhere, and the TV didn’t shut off at all, even when I tried to get some sleep. I’d figure I would tough out everything since I was only there to rest from a long drive to Florida, but I literally couldn’t take it. I left at like 3 AM because when the toilet overflowed everywhere at 2 AM it was my final straw. DO NOT stay here if the bare minimum you’re looking for in a cheap motel is cleanliness and functionality, that’s what I did, and even though it was cheap I think I would’ve paid a lil extra somewhere else if I would’ve known it be this trashy, and trust me I’m extremely easygoing and hate complaining , I NEVER leave reviews, but this was just too much!

Hard to find main office. Pictures of the room were nicer than the room

We had a wonderful stay nice clean hotel room. Staff was very friendly we will definitely stay here again
- 4/5
Breakfast was not the best and they charged $50deposit
- 3/5
Great for the price. Rooms has been updated some. Other items have not been updated like microwave and mini refrigerator and chairs. The rooms were clean. The stay was quiet.
- 4/5
Very clean. Would stay again.
- 3/5
As to the room itself, it was reasonably clean, but had that air of "lipstick on a pig" - if you looked close, there were some pretty questionable elements, like a microwave with the interior shielding broken off and rust underneath (ewwww). The bed was clean and fairly comfortable, and all-in-all for a quick stay (we were only there one night), it was doable, but if I had to stay longer, I would pick another hotel. On the upside - even though we didn't go swimming, the pool looked really clean and sparkly, and the area around it seemed to be nice. One last thing - if you book a stay here, be warned - finding the entrance into the hotel is challenging, as it is not well marked. The Rodeway Inn shares the lot with the Econolodge, which is closest to the road. Look for the Econolodge sign on the front of the building, and turn in there.
- 5/5
Room was nice and spacious it was a plus for me being that they offer smoking rooms when most dont would definitely stay again
- 4/5
Not bad good one
- 2/5
If you're going to sleep overnight while on a long road trip, this place is barely acceptable. I would not recommend staying here much longer than that.
- 2/5
Booked as Rodeway Inn but when arrived booking was a EconoLodge. Walls, doors and baseboards grimy, bedding had red stains, Holes in wall where stacking patio style chair instead of upholstered chair had bashed into wall. Bathroom was clean, breakfast was on par with most motels.
- 5/5
The staff was not very friendly and I lost money in vending machines and not even told how to get the money back...
- 1/5
The stay was very bad was treated really bad
- 3/5
Beds where comfy Water pressure was good Pool was clean Breakfast was ok waffels, fruit, cereal and bread Frig and freezer in room Air conditioner worked great Cons - wouldn't let us bring waffels back to the room for the sleeping children so i had to wake the 3 of them up Pillows where tiny you only get 2 per bed Beds where tiny not queen size Onky 2 towels per room had to ask for more since there was 4 of us in one room
- 2/5
Bed was not comfortable. Slight mildew smell. Questionable people standing outside
- 5/5
Great 😊
- 5/5
I liked everything about my stay
- 5/5
There wasn’t any thing at all wrong I’m really enjoying my stay everything is just wonderful 🤗
- 1/5
Creepers who watched me as I unloaded stuff from my car. They just stood in the parking lot and stared at me. Staff family members looked at us in a way that we felt unwelcome and out of place. When I woke up the next morning, I noticed there was some brown, hard stuff stuck to the wall by where I was sleeping. I can make a guess on what it was, but won't type that guess here. Dirty. A quick glance under the bed found dead bugs (not bed bugs, but obvious that the room isn't very thoroughly cleaned). The tv was snowy. I hadn't seen reception like that since the 1970s. Wifi was slow and unpredictable. I would never, ever stay here again.
- 2/5
Pool looked refreshing. But we never had time to use it.
- 5/5
Peace and quiet
- 3/5
About what you'd expect for the price. They change your towels but don't make the beds. They have a breakfast--but it kind of sucks: I'm not fussy about bagel quality, but they were really terrible. Vague smell of weed in our room. Still... it was dirt cheap and I was buying rooms for a number of students, trying to save the families money... so we got what we paid for.

Easy to miss the driveway, a sign needs to be closer to street view.

Worked for a short stay but seemed a bit unsafe. Would not even give water when we missed bfast. More motel drive up style. Very poor bedding.
- 5/5
My overall stay was good
- 1/5
The place needs a really deep cleaning. The rooms were not as what they projected online. There were people hanging out everywhere drugs everywhere it was horrible. It was just me and my kids.
- 5/5
Great stay and great price
- 4/5
A fine establishment for the price. Clean room, simple breakfast, and near some restaurants.
- 2/5
The level of gross was amazing.
- 4/5
Clean average hotel with a great price. No bells or whistles but perfect for a place to crash and feel safe.
- 5/5
Very nice room, clean and quiet the front desk staff was friendly and respectful
- 3/5
I didn’t like the way the front door lock was bent and felt unsafe. I was in room 248.
- 3/5
You get what you pay for, property needs updating, bathroom had repaired damage to the tub faucet and the non-slip coating on the tub was peeling off and could be a cut hazard. The heat/air conditioner was noisy.

Managers attempted to unlock and open the door while i had no clothes on, claiming to have said im late checking out and they are calling the police. I feel like i was profiled because of the color of my skin because there were other people checking out as well and nothing was said to them.
- 2/5
I’m new to the area, and I checked in a little after midnight, I noticed random people walking around the parking lot. One guy watched me get out of the car and walk to my room. I am a female and was by myself. Once I got into the room, the latch for the door was broken off. The staff were nice and refunded me for the rest of the stay because I felt unsafe.
- 3/5
Toilet seat was loses
- 3/5
I asked for a ground floor room and was told there were no ground floor rooms... and yet when I drove to the building, it has a whole ground floor. HUH??? Then the lock on the door didn't work well. The room was nice and clean, had a microwave and a fridge. At checkout I wasn't allowed to take my breakfast out, so threw it away. Silly rule.
- 5/5
Pretty surprised at how decent this place was. The AC was cold, the bed was pretty comfortable. It was really quiet too. Will stay here when i return to Richmond.
- 4/5
The staff was very accommodating when I requested a change of rooms when I detected hints of smoking in a previously assigned room. The surroundings are safe, the location is walkable to a strip mall with lots of dining options. Breakfast was decent. Worth the one night stay on the way to NC.

The man at the front desk would not let me check in at the motel because he said I have to be 21 years old but it did not say on their policy that I could see and I am 18.
- 1/5
I had to get one of my rooms changed because there were BUGS in it and the bathroom was disgusting to start off. When I asked to change rooms I was given an attitude about it by the staff member up front. And yet the second one still needed new linens but when asked for linens the same staff member said “they did not have a key and could not get linens”. To top it off the other room we had had a couch in it that had MOLD all in and on it! My husband is disabled and it is DANGEROUS for him to be around things like that for prolonged periods! And not to mention another dirty bathroom , dirt all behind the toilet and on the toilet , a ring of dirt on the bathtub , used toilet paper and even a used soap bar still in the bathtub. And it doesn’t end there ! Pull back the sheets and find stains on the linens as well as some green powder in the corners of the bed for god knows what. I would never go back to this hotel and I was completely disgusted with the entire stay. Let’s not even begin to mention the noise levels all times of the night, we barely were able to get any sleep because of people fighting and screaming next door and people running around outside back and forth. I didn’t even get a working microwave and one of the rooms didn’t have a pull out couch like it was supposed to. I didn’t even feel safe here !

Convenient and affordable, however the room smelled like marijuana.

Great price.. super clean quiet and fresh towels and sheets changed perfect stay

This is the first time I’ve ever had to leave a hotel immediately because it was unsanitary. The website pics are a joke. Despite booking a non-smoking room, the rude kid at the front desk put me in a smoking room. I didn’t complain. Well, the room was so full of smoke and yellow dinginess that the bedbugs had emphysema. There so much “biological matter” on the comforter that Maury Povich could host an entire season of “You are not the father!” episodes. Oh and the mold… so much of it that it evolved into its own superbug resistant to both Pall Malls and baby batter. When I let the kid at the front desk know that I was leaving, he called me a liar and threatened to I’ll the police. Huh? He needs to call an Infectious Disease Specialist. The police would probably much more interested in the Peeping Tom employee pressing his eyeballs against the windows of each room. You’ll save money by sleeping in a dumpster outside out of drug clinic than staying in this dump. Oh yeah, they’ll overcharge you too.
- 4/5
Quiet
- 5/5
Was what we expected for the price. We did find 1 cockroach in the bathroom.
- 3/5
The stay was comfortable
- 3/5
The room was clean and comfortable. The room ac unit had dial readings that had been worn off so it was hard to guess how to set the temp. Nothing fancy here, just simple. But everything you need for a stay. Had refrig and microwave. And the water was hot.
- 1/5
Was charged a breach fee because of greedy management that chose to speak to an occupant of the room instead of the person who booked it.
- 4/5
Ice machine not working
- 5/5
All i cam say is Great vibes, good spirit, very professional and very polite. Had a pleasant time
- 5/5
Pool was not useful
- 3/5
Our room had no towels. I went to the office to get some and didn’t even get an apology. Customer service just isn’t what it used to be. 😞
- 4/5
Very comfortable bed, but frame was a noisy tinny box. A/C and heater worked well. 42” TV but very limited Hi Def channels, the rest were terrible lo def. Refrigerator worked well and there was a microwave, but wasn’t used. Awesome water pressure in shower and toilet and sink were good. Hotel is located on a busy street, but located far enough away from road that noise wasn’t a problem. Breakfast was minimal and I didn’t partake except for morning coffee, which was good. Other offerings were: juice; bagel; cereal; and a waffle maker. Fresh towels and wash clothes were given every day of my stay and bed was made up every other day. Wasn’t anything fancy, but served my needs well.

- 1/5
Lied to us about being booked up.
- 3/5
Also the picture showed a working pool which is why we wanted to stay. The pool wasn’t even half full of water and very dirty
- 1/5
I have rarely stayed anywhere, where there are so many roaches and the room was not clean
- 1/5
My wife and I stopped for the night on the way to a family vacation to Myrtle Beach and didn't want to drive the full 14 hours trip from CT. Checked in at 11p and was gone before 9a, and I was rudely spoke to by the gentleman at the desk. When I asked to speak to the manager, he snobbly told me that he was the manager, and I told him I would be calling and speaking to someone else.
- 4/5
Convenient to Amtrak. Combined with other hotel with small breakfast area made slow breakfast.
- 4/5
My wife and I stayed the night and the customer service from Peter was exemplary - he was very helpful and accommodating.
- 2/5
Check in was quick but asked they guy please give us clean room and he said of course but when we open room door it was water under the bed and on floor dust every where
- 3/5
was good.
- 2/5
It is hard to get in you couldn’t eat breakfast in your room. The pool was closed. They wanted to change ac while I was in the room not a good idea
- 4/5
It is a average place. Did like that they put clean toes in each day but they didn’t clean anything. Far better than a hotel 6.
- 3/5
Room had a smell to think where it’s located it will be clean an up to part no will not be returning
- 5/5
The room was clean and well put together . It was odd that the pool was shut down in the beginning of August.
- 3/5
Check in was fast and efficient..the room was clean but there was a few lights that wasn't working and the batteries were dead for the tv and we couldn't reach the front desk for replacements the pool never opened and we didnt get a reason why
- 4/5
Just what we wanted, pool was closed. Check-in good. Breakfast pretty good.
- 1/5
I did not stay at the Rodeway because at check in they were going to charge me a $20 Check in fee plus a $50 deposit for one night. And also the front desk associate was very rude and unprofessional.
- 4/5
Dead bolt worked, however the slide lock was broken off.
- 2/5
todayis May 1, 2022. They held $ 50 dollars on my bank card Did not say a word. Had a plaque on counter high lighted somewhat for customer to read Another sheet of a lot of small writing Did't read until i got to room . The room had a couple of bugs in sink and garbage from a previous customer stuffed underneath TV desk. I took a picture because I didn't trust mgm't . The female that checked me out was not pleasant. She informed me that someone has to go check out the room. Why couldn't the room be checked out while I was there ? If i hadn't taken pictures she probably would have said garbage under table Glad I took pictures.

Has pool rarely opened though

While trying to celebrate my fiancée birthday we needed somewhere to stay for the night after being out all day. We decided to come to Rodeway Motel and the staff took a long time to come check us in and he was not at the front desk. He finally came and decided to check us in and ask which one of us was putting it in our name with a rude attitude. He then tells us we need a $50 dollar deposit just to turn around and have roaches crawling on the chair and bed in the room he gave us. The room was non smoking and it still smelled like smoke a lil & last they had cigarettes stuff all down in the chair & no one still bothered to clean that. They don’t deserve to ask no one for a deposit for a filthy nasty room like that. I was very uncomfortable and could not sleep. When we told the staff about the experience he gave us another room and the whole room smelled smoked up. Don’t waist your time and money. I deserve to get my money back after what I experienced they are non refundable and I think that is very wrong to do that to someone who had to pay and this is what you get
- 1/5
not enough towels
- 5/5
A real good value. It’s a newer property, real clean and for the price - comfortable. Theater is also a supermarket about a block away which I appreciated. I was very happy staying there.
- 1/5
Booked a non smoking room but when I arrived they told me since I wanted 2 beds I had to take a smoking room in Chrome there were 3 of us so we had to take 2 beds. The room smelt like cigarettes so bad that I was nauseous the whole weekend. And everything we brought back from the hotel reeks of cigarettes.
