The location was great and the staff let us check in late as we got in after midnight. The beds were reasonably comfortable. The building is old and in need of a general refresh. Our suite room was just a regular hotel room that had a strange alcove with a sad 2 seater sofa and no overhead lighting. Additionally, the sofa is clearly not meant to sleep an actual adult Human (despite being advertised as a sleeper). While the beds were reasonably comfortable and had clean sheets, the room had clearly not been deep cleaned in a long time, as the carpets were stained, the grout was dirty in the shower, and the corners of the room showed obvious accumulated dust and dirt. This is not housekeeping's fault, but it seems that management does not prioritize room maintenance. This hotel is technically 'fine', however it looks like management does not care about the guest experience at all. The building is generally outdated, the rooms need some serious attention, and the included breakfast was sad even by hotel standards. I felt that the hotel was a bad value even at the low price I paid. The quality felt closer to what you would expect at a Motel 6 than a Hilton property.

Staff were helpful in transferring me from my first room to a room where where the refrigerator worked, and in lending me an old desk chair for my room. The refrigerator in my first room did not work. No microwave in either room. Also, by default there are no desk chairs, which makes the desk not useful. Staff did help as they could with these things.

Best staff ever, super friendly, I booked two rooms and without me even asking they booked me two rooms next door to each other. 24 hour fresh coffee available for free in the lobby with a mini store if you need to purchase anything in the middle of the night, everything was spotless and I mean spotless! The hotel is pet friendly so keep that in mind, we love pets so it didn’t bother us at all, free parking and great location with easy access to every road we needed. We enjoyed the hotel.

The Spark property is seemingly brand new and beautiful. The room was spacious, bed very clean and comfortable, and the bathroom excellent. The bathtub was larger than most, and clean. Breakfast offered choices and was very good. Location was safe with ample parking. All in all, the hotel far exceeded our expectations, especially for the modest cost.

absolutely nothing The staff was rude, reservations phone people and front desk people especially the morning one. Very dismissive. No pool, no restaurant, no hot breakfast, no shuttle service, no patio or outdoor areas. It was a disaster from the minute we tried to check in and couldn't bc we were too early. Didn't even ask us to pre check in for later, which we learned we could have done that afternoon but that person was the same since we only had a booking.com confirmation number and they don't use those. Not sure why it was so hard to look up our name but she couldn't find the first 3 times she looked. Never ever again. For one night if you need something it'll do if you're not looking for anything but a room. Don't expect a warm welcome and don't ask too many questions. It was not great!!

It was cold breakfast. When I was getting coffee putting in creamer to coffee cup, because the creamer bottle plumper was tight, I was pushing it a little slow, the staff was passing by said ‘yeah take your time’ nothing wrong with that phrase, but I felt embarrassed because she wasn’t face me to say that, she was talking loudly to other guests sitting there… I will not stay there again.

Seemed to be construction happening on my floor until about 10:30 pm. Was not at all a quiet experience and frankly unsettling.

Had to switch rooms because there was hair and grime in the tub. Giant wet spot on the first floor just outside the room we got moved into. Not the best but not the worst either. May not book again though.

My daughter and I were in the area for a college open house. It was closed to the college. Very clean. Friendly staff. We did not use the breakfast amenity but it seemed adequate for Continental style breakfast.

Front desk associate was helpful and patient with everything i needed to know. Was friendly and offered a “goodie” bag when i checked in. I think his name was Donald Nigel or Nigel Donald. He is the overnight scheduled Team member

This hotel has two things going for it: it is pet friendly, and they have multiple electric vehicle charging stations. The staff is friendly. The only negative is that the breakfast options are quite meager.

This hotel was okay. If you just want a quick place to spend a night and that’s all, this is it. It was clean, and the bed was comfortable. The breakfast was not at the same level as hotels similarly priced. No waffle makers, scrambled eggs ( they had just hard boiled eggs), as an example. The hotel seemed to be an older hotel that may have been purchased and then updated. However, besides new paint it felt old and outdated. But ok, if you are on a budget. Cleanliness and comfort of the bed are my personal top things and it had those. So my rating of somewhere in the okay range is how I’d rate it. My next time in town i will try another hotel, just because of it being just okay. I think i can do better for maybe a little more money, which would be more to my liking.

When we went to breakfast, the tables were always spotless. The breakfast attendant made sure that all the food was constantly re-stocked and never ran out. She was always moving cleaning tables, emptying garbage, etc. Breakfast had two types of fruit, as well as an assortment of bagels, yogurt toppings, cereals, etc. There is 24 hours of free coffee and tea. Our room was spotless and it appeared that the room attendants truly take pride in their work. Will definitely stay there again!

The tea is available at night and decaf coffee on the first floor. It was nice to have a chamomile tea before bed after a long day. Had a really good sleep in the king size bed with the best pillows. Costco and Chick-fil-A are down the street. I would stay there again.

The price is good for the stay. Breakfast offers healthy options and the coffee is really good! Oat milk is even available at the coffee bar. Its a quiet boutique hotel that offers clean rooms and great staff!!

The staff was great. The room was clean. My only complaint was we had to be moved to a second room because the first room had an adjoining door to another room, and it was very loud listening to the neighboring room. But we were moved to another room with no problem.

Everything was great until the manager started to argue with my 12 year old niece because she felt like my niece was being dis respectful. The correct way to handle that was to see what room we were staying in and speaking with the adults in the room but she chose to argue with a 12 yr old child. Everything else was perfect it’s just the staff that need to be changed

The hotel still had another persons hair in several parts of the room. There was a beetle in the room when I got there. And there is no hot breakfast offered outside of oatmeal which isn’t my thing. Overall, it was just an okay stay but I wouldn't be in my head to visit again.

Dirty room and smelly. Shower had mold, towels were yellow and bed smelled and pillows/linens looked used. At breakfast the containers for the cream cheese were nearly empty (as were others) and they was yellow/dirty on the bottom. I looked and others were white. So gross. Would NOT recommend. I thought the Hilton brand would guarantee a minimum standard, but I was mistaken. Very disappointed.

Our room was full of black mold and we were not offered compensation yet just $25. We are going to call the health department. I was not feeling well and very nauseous. We showed the staff photos. Not sure what will happen. I picked a hilton property bc they are suppose to be the best of the best. The mold was just one issue that we found in the room. We have many photos and Video. We are very dissatisfied.

Could not get the hotel Wi-Fi to work nor the TV. Front desk wasn't much help with it. I have worked in Information Technology for over 25 years so I'm familiar with how to set these things up. Not happy!

The parking is not clearly marked. Us and 5 other guests were towed! Not a great way to start the day… The staff didn’t seem to care or advocate for us, costing us all a lot of money and inconvienence. Clearly there is a relationship with the hotel staff and the towing company. Do not stay here!

The room was barely passable except: outlet far away from sink mirror did not work. Only one light switch. Lamp on the desk inoperable. Tile broken on shower floor. Shower gel pump bottle empty. No shower curtain so bathroom floor got completely flooded. I know only clean every other day but the housekeeper said she would empty the trash and never did. Should get one free bottle of water, how cheap. The blanket was dingy .

This was the first time we stayed at a Spark. The staff was super friendly. The hotel was very clean and convenient to college campus in the area. This hotel is also dog friendly.

Would not let check in our booking, apparently no rooms were available which is not our fault, booked through expedia. Will not issue a refund. Very unethical!

The first day that I was there, after we woke up there was no water.I called and said there was no water.And they said that there would be no water from 8am to 4:30pm. They said that when I checked in the night prior I should have been informed of this.But I was not. They also said that they expected this to be an issue for the next few days until friday, and it was tuesday so I was obviously upset. Thankfully, they decided to stop, so the next day there was water.And that wasn't an issue going forward.But still very frustrating when I was there with my ten month old son. The other issue was the fridge was not cold at all.Even after adjusting the dial on the back of it and putting numerous food items in. Then, the air conditioner was making very loud.Noises to the point where I didn't really want it to run.But I called and complained, and they said because it was after five p m, there was no maintenance person and all of their rooms were booked.So they could not move my room, and I was told "unfortunately, you're just going to have to deal with it". This was our last night there and again like I said, I was with my ten month old son, so you can see how this was very distressing. The other thing that was very infuriating was that there was no microwave, but that part is on me for assuming that they would have one.Because pretty much every hotel room i've ever had has had a microwave, especially when they offer a fridge. What is the point of a fridge?If you have no microwave?

The room was smelly with a musty odor. Not crazy about the bathroom set-up, but as we were only staying for 2 nights, it was ok. The manager was excellent, but check-out was not. Waited 10 minutes for someone to come to the front desk, and they never showed up.

Didn't like that we were on the top floor & there are cell phone towers on the roof.

We stayed there for 2 nights. It is near to RIT. Many dinning options around it.

The staff were great and friendly. The room wasn't the cleanest but adequate for a one night stay. The beds and room were fine, but the bathroom could have been cleaner. The breakfast was lacking. Many places I have stayed have a hot breakfast, but this one was a true continental breakfast with pastries, fruit, juice, and cereal. This was the most expensive hotel we stayed at in our trip, but it was arguably the worst. I have certainly stayed in worse places, but I felt the quality should have been higher given the price.

Spark is very basic, good as a cheap way to stay a single night with the family on a budget. Everything was clean and well kept. My only complaints are the breakfast was maybe a little too basic with limited space in that area, and we got a suite but it did not have its own microwave.

Upon arrival hotel appeared tired next to a closed old Fridays in parking lot. The line for check in was 6 deep with one poor woman working desk and phones. After 45 mins and of looking at a tired and dated lobby we gave up and walked out having never gotten checked in

We stayed at this hotel after a 10-hour drive from North Carolina, hoping to get some much-needed rest. Unfortunately, around 5 a.m., the fire alarm went off unexpectedly. It was loud and disruptive, and no one from the hotel staff followed up—no call, no explanation, and no one checked in to see if everything was okay. My husband and I were startled and couldn’t get back to sleep, so we ended up getting dressed and leaving early. It was a disappointing end to what we hoped would be a restful stay.

When I looked up the property it showed that it had a pool. There was no pool.

It was clean, staff was great, the breakfasr bar was good, and i felt safe there.

Great place to stay only thing is the walls are thin so you hear every movement if you are trying to rest.

Great service at check in and throughout our stay, room was clean, breakfast could've used more seating but was exactly what they said (please replace the yogurt machine with single use yogurts) and was kept stocked. We enjoyed our stay.

The room was great! But the pull out couch was so uncomfortable and very thin. Could feel every single spring in that mattress. Plus there was a huge blue paint stain on the coushin. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom was clean. The room said it could sleep seven. But it could barely sleep 5 bc of the pull out matress

Pretty nice, but two negatives. First, there are actually somewhat comfortable hideabed mattresses; unfortunately, this hotel did not have one. Second, a pretty meager "breakfast"; not even any fresh fruit.

I have been there before it was Spark by Hilton, everything is good but seems like who ever is running the place is trying to run the place at a very low budget, everything is good but standards have gone down, breakfast was better before, than now.

The staff was very friendly and all our needs were addressed promptly, and with courtesy and respect. However the cleanliness could have been more detailed and made sure the the tubs weren't clogged when bathing.

This is my 2nd time staying here. Just as good as the first. Highly recommend. Room is spacious enough to move around in and not feel overly cramped. Nice amenities and clean. Hotel isn’t run down or dated. Cost isn't too shabby either for such a nice place. Close to many things and staff is always friendly. This will be my go-to hotel for short stays moving forward.

Only stayed one night while visiting my daughter at local university. From checkin to checkout out the staff was extremely friendly and personable. Room was very clean and the beds comfortable. I didnt partake of the continental breakfast, but I'm sure it wouldve been as good as other reviews suggested. The lobby coffee/tea area was stocked with ample selections and clean. Very centrally located to wherever I needed to go. Quiet spot off of main roads. This place is definitely on my list of places to stay while visiting Rochester.

The property has been improved since my last visit. Positives- very clean and well maintained. Negatives - free breakfast was not to my liking (would prefer hot options) and the remote on the television was difficult to get to the channel of choice. Neither of these are deal breakers but did impact my stay.

I stayed in the terrible room. The shower was weak and not hot enough. They told me to wait for 30 minutes. After one hour, it was the same lukewarm water. I complained about it. They said nobody is complaining about the hot water. They don’t even come and check the temperature. I waited another 30 minutes, nothing has changed.

This was just not the right space for us as a family staying multiple nights. The room was spacious enough, but with no in-room coffee maker, a super tiny fridge, and the light switch on the outside of the bathroom it made it hard for us to be comfortable. This is definitely an older building with new decor, so low ceilings and some awkward refurbishments. It is in a great location making it very convenient otherwise.

My room was an accessible King. The sheets had stains on them. There was a dead fly on the window and another dead bug by the sink. The accessible shower didn’t have a curtain. The knob was broken so getting hot water was a challenge. The heater made noises as if there were parts rattling around inside.

It was ok, the room wasn’t 100 satisfying. I had to clean the sink and counter top when I got there. There was hair in shower and it wasn’t cleaned around bottom of toilet. I am head of housekeeping at my job in NY so I am a little pickier than most

Spark is an efficiency type hotel that has been made over IKEA style. Easy in, easy out. The staff was friendly and took pride in being present with guests. The included breakfast —bagels, cereals, hard boiled eggs and yogurt — is fine and convenient. Coffee bar in the lobby is nice. The “how is your stay going” texts are well intentioned and I suppose make it easy to contact the staff if needed. There are no descent restaurants in walking distance, though there many good eating options in Rochester within a 10 minute drive. There is a Costco down the street, which is nice fir fueling up, and shopping (we are Costco fans).

A decent hotel to stay

I didn’t like the fact the price doubled in a few hours time. Closer to checkin. Staying the night due to weather and spouse at Wilmot for treatment felt like being ripped off in our time if need.

We were so pleased with our stay. From check-in to check-out, we were always treated well and comfortable. The young lady, Sara, who checked us in checked several times during our 4 night stay to see if everything was good. The room was clean, fresh, and felt nearly new. The bed was quite comfy, and the room was cozy warm (even with frigid outside temps). The hot water in the shower was strong and uninterrupted. Overall, this hotel is a great value; we hope to stay there every time we return to the area.
