The hotel is in the middle of renovations, NO AC, Only 1Elevator works, all this information was given @ check in. It was 85 degrees in the room, they offered no fans or AC units. These types of renovation the hotel should COMPLETELY shut down until they are fully able to run normally. They offered a 5% discount upon checkout which was a joke. Breakfast was half setup, it was just not a great stay whatsoever!!

This entire hotel had no air conditioning in June- stating that it was in "winter setting". Our room was 86 degrees, with a 2 inch window opening for air. Had I known, I would not have booked this hotel at all. In addition, the hotel was in very poor shape & not clean. To pay over $200 per night for a room to not even have feasible living conditions is criminal.

The place was horrible. Do not go there. From the minute we parked our car the parking lot was filthy derelict hanging around. Even the staff behind the desk were slovenly. They put us in a handicap room the farthest away you could possibly get. In the middle of the night there was gun shootings outside the hotel. Do not stay here.

Booked a King Bed Room, Got to the Hotel and was told there was no King rooms available and was offered a Double Queen instead. Took the Double Queen Room. The Room had NO A/C because the HVAC system was getting worked on. Staff wasnt sure when the A/C would be fixed. The room also had no Refrigerator, Microwave, or Room phone to call the front desk. Went to the front desk and asked for extra towels and washcloths with a Microwave. Staff said they would try to accommodate us and let us know. Didn't hear from the staff about the situation the rest of our stay. The pool was closed at the beginning of June on beautiful days which would of been nice to go in the pool. The floor I stayed on which was non-smoking smelled like pot. They had no vending machines for snack or soda. The bar in the lobby was closed and looked like it hasnt been open for some time. Overall just an awful experience. Stay away from this hotel

The hotel was poorly-maintained and the air-con wasn't functioning. The pool was out of use and there was generally a dirty feel. However, there was a bed to sleep in and it is in a decent, central location.

It was a horrible experience I’m not sure if the owner or corporate knows about this but they should go down and take a look. This place reminded me of a place you see in third world countries nothing was working nothing was clean! At least the front desk lady was understanding and refund my money she was definitely concern and should be asked to run place it appears she knows what is going on but can’t do anything about it!

I was super grateful for the very early check-in. Parking was free and easy. Location is fine but exterior of property is definitely lacking visually. One elevator out of commission and the other very badly worn signage. Push a button. See what happens. Room was a great size. Very comfy and clean bed. No air conditioning. Hadn’t been turned on yet. Room was hot even with the window open. Food left in mini fridge and garbages from previous occupant. Ceiling collapsing in bathroom. Shower head fixture not properly secured. Toothpaste left in sink from previous occupant. Another business needs to take this over and make it into a boutique hotel. Cover the inner courtyard to capitalize on the pool year round. It makes no sense for Rochester to have outside pools for 2 months out of the year given the weather patterns.

I think Expedia should remove its representation of this property. We had a three night stay, and the toilet stopped working on the first night and remained unfixed until late the evening of the third night. When we called for the second request to send up maintenance, we were told to come down to the front desk to discuss. They said they were unable to fix it for the second night. We asked what we should do, and they said to go buy a plunger ourselves. They gave us the key to a different room (it was now past midnight), we packed all of our stuff, and upon entering the second room, we found it stifling hot and very, very dirty (like a broom or vacuum had not been used in weeks). We spent another night in our original room with no working toilet. This property is just waiting to be condemned. Stay away.

Doors don’t work in areas, one elevator down, pool closed and an absolute disaster, carpet stained, door locked with bolt that’s an egress door, no air conditioning, breakfast was served 2.5 hours late, can’t get a room as a walk in. That’s not all but you get the point.

Hotel was unreachable by phone after several attempts, a bad first sign and almost unheard of in 2026. Upon arrival, 2 hours after the check-in time of 3 PM, we were informed our room is not yet ready after waiting in line for an hour. We were told it would be another 10 minutes. 10 minutes later, we were told it would be another 10 minutes. We then decided to stay elsewhere. The front desk seemed unprepared and overwhelmed. It's preposterous to have guests' rooms unready past the agreed upon time and to be seemingly indifferent over it. Avoid it at all costs.

Hi there. We had an unfortunate and unpleasant experience this weekend at the Wyndham Rochester in NY. The general gist is that we came out for an extremely rare night out in over 6 months due to my kids, one of them disabled and takes up most of my time. When I was offered a night off, we booked the room through the booking.com app, which was the Executive King Suite. We also reached out to friends we haven't seen and made dinner reservations for 5pm. We arrived at the hotel around 2:55 after being on the road for several hours. Tried to check in at 3:00, which is the check in time. We were told by one receptionist that housekeeping hadn't made it to our room yet and we had to wait a little longer for it to be done. She said she wanted to make sure we got what we paid for. After half an hour of waiting, the receptionist i spoke with had left for the day and there was only one person behind the front desk, who I later was told was new. I asked the other receptionist if she had an idea on how much longer until our room was ready as we had reservations at 5pm and we both still needed to shower and change for dinner. She informed us it wasn't ready yet. My partner asked if she could take down our phone number in case its ready and we aren't in the lobby. She said she didnt know and continued what she was doing and then begrudgingly took down my phone number. We took our baggage back to the car and sat there and waited another half an hour. We went in around 4pm and sat and waited in hopes we would hear something. I sat until 4:30 before approaching again. She this time tried to reach housekeeping on the desk phone, which didnt work. She then tried calling and texting housekeeping from her cell phone with no luck. It's now after 4:30, we had to cancel our dinner reservations as it takes more than 30 mins to get there. We went back to the car so I could try and calm down.

I stayed at the Wyndham Rochester downtown address is 70 state street Rochester ny 14614 and had a horrible an experience. I was there for my daughters college commence and the hotel experience was a nightmare. When I arrived it took 40 mins to check in because the computer was down. There was only 1 elevator working, which made wait time extremely long. The air conditioner in the rooms weren’t working. I couldn’t sleep all night because of it. The breakfast was poor. Only two option biscuits and gravy with pork sausage Or oatmeal in a cup. Drink option was only coffee. it advertises a pool. The desk attendant stated the pool has been closed for 10 years. On top of that I was charged more that advertised by the 3 rd party. Im writing a letter to corporate office stating an experience from hell and I want a refund.

Although the room was less expensive than others in the area, the hotel was surprisingly awful. There was no remote for the TV, no air conditioning and the Continental Breakfast was remarkably scant. I was told the AC could not be used since the heat was activated for use. My room was 76°! It was very difficult to sleep and no apologies were provided. Also, the website was blamed for the false advertising of a working pool and a single king-sized bed.

We arrived at the hotel around 6:00 p.m., even though check-in was supposed to be at 3:00 p.m. When we arrived, we were told that our room was not ready and were asked to wait about 30–40 minutes. We were also promised that we would receive a call when the room was ready. After waiting for two hours without receiving any call, we went back to the reception desk. There was a long line, and only one receptionist was working. Our room was finally ready, but when we asked why we had not been called as promised, the receptionist refused to answer. She did not apologize or offer any explanation. I am not even talking about compensation. We were not offered anything, not even a bottle of water. We paid for the room but were unable to use it for several hours after the official check-in time. When we finally got to the room, there were no towels, and the sink was blocked. The next morning, there was again a long line at reception with only one receptionist working. After all of these issues, we still did not receive even a simple apology. Overall, we were very disappointed with the service, the lack of communication, and the condition of the room.

My first room was dirty and not ready even hours after I reported it. There is no functioning AC in the building at all, and I was told to “crack the window” if I got hot. I was never informed there was no AC prior to booking or upon arrival. There were multiple maintenance issues, including broken and leaking toilets, missing amenities, and a window that would not open. There is also only one elevator for the entire hotel, and it malfunctioned while I was riding in it. After that, I used the stairs for the remainder of my stay.

In town for a show at the West Herr, we simply needed a place to sleep. Well, that didn't work out, either. We were awakened more than once during the night by loud groups congregating and eventually passing our room in the corridor. The only operational elevator smelled awful and hadn't been cleaned for some time. The other elevator was posted with a sign that read: "Pardon our Progress", whatever that means. We didn't explore the rest of the property... no need. Oh, and the room rate was $260!! More than double the hotels.com quote!!! Steer clear of this particular Wyndham. Definitely not even close to the standards of this reputable chain.

This hotel was 1-2 stars at best. I had to go out to purchase flip flops to wear in the shower. The area to hang your clothing was a unit near the entrance that was so short our clothing touched the floor. The carpeting throughout, and in the hallways particularly, looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in years. There was garbage outside of several rooms that remained there for two days. The floors near the elevators were filthy, spills that were there on the first day of our stay were there when we left (4 days later). The breakfast was terrible, so much so that folks simply didn’t eat and came to get a coffee or tea only, which was even a challenge some mornings as there were no cups, no milk, etc. Overall, one of my worst hotel experiences yet. Even the parking area was in terrible condition- very dirty, leaking roof, etc

The building has a buukding ac unit vsindividu ac unit per room and the building ac was not set to summer mode yet. So room temps were warmer than ideal. Parking lot area had quite a bit of trash around the edges and in the garage area. The staff at the desk was very friendly. The downstairs bar area never opened. The elevator was also malfunctioning for those of us trying it get off on floor 6. Elevator would go up and then hover/jolt before going back down to five. Forcing many to just take the stairs with luggage or keep waiting in the elevator for it to let you off on floor 6. I’d give this property about 2.5 stars.

Upon arrival around 7:30 pm, we were greeted with a line that wasn't moving. Understanding that there were several major events going on, we were like ok. When we did finally make it to a staff member she was very nice despite the chaos. But once we arrived at our room, OHHHHHH BOYYYYY!!!!!! We had a quick reality check. We felt like we were "CATFISHED". The room smelled like it was old and musty. The stands were stained up and not wiped down. There was no iron or blow dryer. We had, a double queen room with only one towel, two washcloths and a shower towel. They only had two (2) tiny bars of soap, that was only enough for you to wash your hands. There were four pillows on one bed and three on another. The room was dusty. Could not sit all the way on the toilet because you would hit your back on the wash area. There was very, and I mean very little space to put clothes. We just kept ours in the suitcase. When we went down to complain about the towels and everything else, the guy was nice, but he said that he apologize, but the didnt have no towels, so he gave us two (2) hand towels and a couple washcloths. One of the hand towels was stained from look like make up. Nevertheless! We did not use that towel. Overall! Outside of the friendly staff. The hotel was not worth the money paid. Very disappointed. Especially after a wonder Concert.

They don’t answer the phone, aren’t ready to check people in at 3:00 (be ready to stand in a line of frustrated people at the desk for an hour) don’t even honor some reservations, don’t give parking instructions or a parking pass unless you remeber to ask, the “breakfast” is gone by 9:00 am, there are dirty sheets on the floor in the hallways, the only working elevator is terrifying, the doors to the parking area don't open, and on and on. Just don’t go here.

When I arrived, they told me they didn’t have a room for me due to construction closing down 2 of their floors. They magically found a room after i was googling new options in their lobby for 10 minutes. The room they gave me was 85 degrees and it couldn’t be adjusted. There were bugs in the bathroom and stains on the walls. The elevator worked 25% of their time. Disaster.

I believe this is the norm for this place that looks like its never been thoroughly cleaned. From the dirty stained rugs on every floor and in every room, to the scuffs on the walls, paper printed room direction signs, trash on the floor in the amenity spaces, to some of the questionable-looking "guests" this hotel is a hot mess. One newly arrived guests was in the lobby demanding a refund because she had a spiders in her room. Another person was complaining of stains on their carpet. There were no beverages or snacks for sale in the lobby, no vending machines, nothing. My room had the potential to be so nice, with a decent sized bathroom, two queen beds and a great river/waterway view but it hadn't been deeply cleaned since they opened. The windows were filthy!

Booked the hotel around noon and arrived at 6:00 to check in. Waited for about 15 minutes before they told us they were short staffed and it would be about 45 minutes before we could get into a room. That asked us to leave our name and number and they would call us when it was ready. So, we went out and did our thing and came back at 1:30 in the morning. I never received a call and when we got back they said all the rooms are booked. So I didn’t even get to stay there, I had to find another place at 2:00 in the morning…

It looks like a hotel that was high end way back in the day, but its strughling to hang on. I had to get my own hand soap etc.at the front desk. I booked 2 queen beds but was put in a king room. Bed was clean and comfortable though. Im glad my teenager was ok to share. Only one elevator was working for 7 floors and it was just barely working. Not a lot of explanations or information from staff eg: you have to swipe your room key when you press your floor button or the elevator will just go back down to the lobby. You also have to press door open when you reach your floor or you will go back down. Otherwise it was clean, comfortable, and a beautiful view of the city at night.

Showed up after a red eye at noon to maybe see if a room was ready and they told us no to come back after 3 or 4pm. We went back after dinner and visiting our son at about 11:30pm exhausted. Walked in and I can only describe it like an old run down hot and humid convention center when we walked in. The lady at front was nice but instantly said, “no one called you” and we said no and she proceeded to tell us they were over booked and had no rooms and all we could do is call Expedia. Blessing in disguise we were relocated but don’t fall for the cheap price, free wouldn’t be worth it. First time I leave a review in as long as I can remember.

Reading the reviews for this Wyndom property on State St in Rochester, NY definitely were NOT written about this property. The hotel is extremely run down and not well kept at all. There were about a year’s worth of cigarette butts all over the outside. The building itself is very run down and not well maintained. One elevator wasn’t working. The lobby was gross. The staff was wearing sweatshirts or t-shirts and leggings or jeans. Very unprofessional. It was hard to identify who was staff! Our room had no amenities. No soap, no hair dryer, no fridge, no microwave. The heating system was broken so our room was at a constant of 80-85 degrees, which was awful! Toilet broke at one point and it took several hours for anyone to get there. At one point a staffer was telling another staff person about a mouse he just had to push out of the kitchen with a broom—this conversation happening in the lobby in front of guests! I could go on and on about how awful this experience was.

Beware!!!! When were checked in we were told the room we booked was unavailable. We kept asking ‘how that was possible?’ And assistant manager just kept saying ‘i understand’. We asked several times but kept getting the same response of ‘I understand’. We never got an answer. Still don’t know why the room we booked wasn’t available When we finally got to a room it was open and looked like someone had used the beds. The room was disgustingly dirty. The bathroom floor was sticky and had hair everywhere. It looked like it had never been cleaned, ever. I cannot overstate how dirty it was. The people that checked in behind us also had the same thing happen to their room, open and filthy. We left and went to a different hotel and they were already there also checking in. I cannot warn you enough, do not stay here! We drove 4 plus hours four a college visit and we almost didn’t have a place to stay. You couldn’t pay me enough to ever even think about staying here. We felt dirty just being in that room and hotel for just 10 minutes. We literally had to Lysol wipe our shoes because we felt they were contaminated. Do not stay here. The front desk was not helpful, unorganized and just didn’t seem to care. Never answered our concerns or questions. Did get a refund but had to call hotels.com and have them call the hotel for refund confirmation. It was a horrible experience and one we won’t soon forget. It made us rethink ever staying at a Wyndham ever again. Beware

Check in was pretty seamless, but there was another couple complaining about the condition of the room. Upon getting to my room, I understood why. It was clean(ish), the bathroom floor was a little sticky. They had a couple of K cups for coffee, but no Keurig machine to make said coffee. Only one elevator was working, so I used the stairs to get down from the 6th floor just about every time. I know that stairwell isn’t checked on a regular basis because I walked by the same empty Arizona tea can for the whole 3 days I was there. Will not stay here again. The cheap price now makes sense.

Long version: I booked this hotel because it is by Wyndham, and the room picture looks very good. The hotel room was recently renovated, and the room condition is the same as what is shown in the pictures, but that is the only good thing about it. The hotel building itself is very old, there is no ventilation in the washroom, and the toilet feels like could be clogged anytime. The a/c in the room only blows hot air, even if I set to the cool mode. The hotel room window is fixed by screws, but the window is not fully closed, which means there is a crack for cold wind blow in during night, and very loud when cars passing by. Staffing wise, the staff has no idea how to run a hotel. My friend book a king bed but when we checked in, they told us only two beds are available. During midnight of our first night, someone just break in my friends room and claimed that he is hotel staff and checking if the room is occupied. My friend have there door latch locked, but it was improperly installed, so it did not prevent people opening the door from the outside at all. The hotel served breakfast for the first day, but they didn’t on the second day, probably because they are too tired from the stripper event last night. Oh right, this hotel host stripping event for ladies opening to people not even staying the hotel. If you are traveling with kids, stay away from this hotel

we had reserved a king suite for one night. Upon arrival we were given a queen room that HAD NOT had any housekeeping services. Beds were still unmade, bathroom was filthy-towels everywhere. A facilities man had been checking a room on someone elses complaint and stepped into our room also stating this hasn't been serviced yet. We were in town for a concert and there were at least 6 other people having the same issue. Although front desk staff were apologetic offering refunds because the rooms were booked thru third parties (orbitz, expedia) they could not. We ended up driving 2hrs home after the concert. Many people were also there for concert and staff was at the time trying to figure out where they could have people change clothing for concert. I would NOT recommend this hotel

I had a two-night stay at this hotel. I am part of the planning committee for convention that happens annually. This was our second year of a 4-year contract. Despite working with the hotel the prior year and communications with the hotel management over the last 6 months.... There was no staff. Members of the convention cooked the food for the banquet and also served. Members set up and broke down all the events including the banquet. Members fixed the boiler that left everyone with no hot water. Only a quarter of the common restrooms worked and the ones at worked had no toilet paper or paper towel and smell horrible. Only one elevator for the entire building was working. And I went through eight key cards, got stuck on the elevator that didn't let me off at my floor and watch that happen to many many others, multiple times. It was actually shocking. Not one soul available to make the 18,000 gallons of coffee needed or the pizza to feed a thousand guests morning noon and night. Years of preparation down the drain due to poor management. Staff literally quitting hours before a banquet for 500 guests! And another member of the committee got their car stolen, so there's that! Wyndham this was absolutely unacceptable and paying guests should definitely be compensated. And the hotel contract should be nil and void. I stand with everyone involved in saying that this weekend should be completely refunded to the convention committee and to the paying guests

We booked this property at the last minute. I would have done more research if I had time. The property is very outdated and needs many upgrades. The sliding doors going into the hotel were not working. There were soiled linens in the hallway when we arrived. There was food still in the refrigerator of our cleaned room. There was another guest who continued to smoke weed on our floor. After we complained, it did not top. There was only one functioning elevator when we arrived, and by mid-stay, that elevator was broken, so we had to climb up 6 flights of stairs to get to our room each time we went out. Then, after climbing up 6 flights, our keys stopped working. There wasn't a free breakfast as advertised. Lastly, when we went to check out the gym, there were only 2 dumbbells. I suggest closing down this hotel until renovations can be completed. Paying over $200 a night for this type of sty is ridiculous.

The WORST hotel that I have ever stayed in. Arrived at 2:47 am on 9/5/25. Late, yes, but willing to stay. Rm#1 NO HEAT, 57 degrees outside, with the button for the heating system missing/broken. The toilet wouldn't flush. Husband repaired the toilet by going into to toilet tank. RM#2 - Lamp with blown bulb. Bathroom caulking looks cruddy with paint over it in an attempt to hide the dirt. A large fist-sized hole above the mirror. NEITHER room had face cloths. When requesting face cloths, given 2 hand towels, with the staff stating none are available

I actually never checked in. I arrived at 1am and was told they had no rooms so I was out of luck. No other hotels had rooms that night and being 1am it was hard to search so I ended up sleeping on the floor at our local office which was nearby. I have never had a hotel just tell me sorry no rooms.

Reservations made more than a month prior to trip and confirmed night before When arrived was told there were no rooms despite all of that. And they offered no help whatsoever to secure a room elsewhere Will never choose Wyndham nor book through hotels.com again What’s the point in having a reservation if there is no guarantee of a room

We stayed 3 nights at this location. Photos are not true to the property’s condition. Our sink did not drain despite calls to maintenance. There were no washcloths available and our towels weren’t replenished during our stay, although we called housekeeping several times. The area around the hotel is suspect at best. Lobby smelled of marijuana, our halls were loud and chaotic in the middle of the night— not a good experience.

The staff was very nice. That's the good. The 1st room they gave me room 409, was 81 degrees when I walked in. The air did not work. They moved me to another room. There were no ice machines on the floor. I had to go all the way to the front desk to get ice. They put another customer in room 409. He had to change rooms too. The pool was under construction. My room faced a side street. Cars were rev in engines and screeching tires. Saturday morning the fire alarm went off and we had to evacuate. The amount I paid per night was too high for what I got.

Next, we learned on day two that housekeeping only comes “every 3-5 days”. Nice. Guess we will hold onto our moist towels. The AC didn’t work. The carpet was “moist”. The complimentary breakfast was bad breads and coffee. One elevator wasn’t working. The one that was working was on its last leg. Everything was dirty. The protected parking lot had no security (just disheveled security booths and gates). There was a full rap concert in the second floor ballroom on our second night, shaking the hotel. The delivery pizza place across the street was great, and the fireworks from the baseball game were nice out the window. Don’t stay here.

The front desk clerk had to get it on the second floor. One elevator was broken. The place just felt kind of old and run down a bit. The complimentary breakfast was nice. Parking was convenient. The cook was super friendly, and loved to answer questions about the history of Rochester, recommended places to eat (for greasy spoon, learn about a Rochester classic, the garbage plate!), and was extremely pleasant. he even told me about the Rochester Royals, who won an NBA championship in the 1940s. Great attitude and really helped close out my stay with a pleasant conversation. There is a continental breakfast.

The night crew is terrible!! Due to a long drive in check in was late. Upon arrival, I'm greeted with the sight of the staff sitting on the desk and hanging out in the lobby. Now, I'm notified that the guest elevator is broken, but I can use to the staff elevator. This elevator looks like The Tower of Terror Elevator at Disney. So now I'm left to climb 6 flights with my younger siblings and all of our belongings @ 2am. Now I have arrived @ the room and guess what...Yep you got it, it's dirty. Hair and soap in the shower, dirty linens ( on a made bed mind you). When asked about switching was told no availability, but will send someone to clean the room. Ok so let's fast forward to 8am next day, no one has cleaned this room. I just drove 12 hrs and couldn't sleep nor wash my body!!! Talked to manager, which was very apologetic and surprised at my experience. Was reassured he was sending someone right away. So now it's 12 noon, my siblings and I have things to do, but remember no one was able to cleanse themselves. So long story short, lol, my siblings ended up staying somewhere else because I wasn't going to have them in this dirty room for a week.

We asked for help with our bags and no one could help us. They provided an office cart (not a luggage cart) for me to navigate and fill and take to my room. The elevators were out and we have to use the service elevators. We trapsed through the offices and heard an employee yelling at their manager on the first night. It was also very warm in the lobby, the offices and the service area. Our room a/c wasn't working properly & the engineer was unavailable for our entire stay to fix ours (and other customers). The room was clean. Most of the staff were helpful and courteous. One staff entered the lobby cussing & upset and yelling. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. It looked unkempt throughout and run down. It is not a Wyndham standard, especially for the price. We spoke to other customers and they were very unhappy and were going to make calls to complain once they were home. For a $300/night hotel stay, this was not up to par at all. If I could have left, I would have.

The hotel was very old … The elevators were not working none of them. My toilet wasn’t working. None of the ice machines were working on none of the floors we had to take the service elevator upstairs. I was on the fifth floor, and my mother was on the sixth floor by the ice machine on the sixth floor, they had an army of ants crawling all over the place. I was very dissatisfied and displeased. They said we would get free breakfast and they charge for the breakfast. I would never come back to this place ever again and I would really want a full refund because we only stayed one night but it was not good at all. I went there because my son was graduating from college. This was a very terrible experience for me my daughters and my mother.

Expedia should have a flag when a property is undergoing renovations. Pretty sure the place was completely empty on a Tuesday. A/c had a note that it wasn’t available but instructions to use the fan. Didn’t receive any paperwork at check in and out confirming pricing which felt odd. 5$ parking fee that I wasn’t told about until checkout when I asked for a receipt so I found this out by mistake. Comfortable king bed. Shower was just warm enough. Good location. Good price.

The Wyndham on Stat St. in Rochester is not in great shape, and doesn't feel hospitable in the least. There was a good deal of signage asking to be 'patient with the progress' in their fixing things up. It appears more like neglect and general disrepair. We needed to leave town fairly early so we wanted to get breakfast immediately when it opened at 6 AM. We went for breakfast about 610 and no one was to be found. Waited around about five or 10 minutes and still no one around to attend to us for breakfast so eventually left and just went for fast food. A little disappointing.

I do want to take a moment to brag about Mark (and the cook, never got his name) in restaurant. We decided to eat dinner in on our final night and they bent over backwards for us. (Thanks, Mark!!). The cook even made something for me that wasn’t listed on the menu, and it was outstanding. So don’t write off the prospect of eating in the restaurant down in the lobby. There was a little mix up with billing (essentially, their “system” billed us twice), but after talking with the manager on duty, he sorted it all out and by the time we checked out the issue was resolved. Thankful for management that went above and beyond to tackle this for us. Overall, we had a great time in Rochester (son had an audition at Eastman) and the proximity to everything was convenient.

So I booked this room because of the Wyndham name. I didn’t know til I got here that it’s actually a holiday inn, they recently changed the name, not the amenities. The water in the room didn’t get hot, it hardly managed like warm. The toilet didn’t flush and we actually ended up having to use the garbage can to fill it with water to flush the toilet. Yes we could’ve complained but it was a one night stay and we discovered this around midnight after returning from the event we were in town for. No vending machines on the floors or even downstairs. They advertise a bar but at 10pm on a Friday night it was closed. The parking lot was covered in ice and my car slid all over the place trying to park between support pillars. Overall I wouldn’t stay here again at a tenth of the price let alone what I paid. I can’t say anything bad about the staff but the actual room and amenities were terrible. Look elsewhere

Reservation was for the Wyndham but the hotel is actually the Holiday Inn. No explanation was provided when I said I was confused by this. The only Wyndham sign was a banner attached to the side of the Holiday Inn building which blew off by the time we left. Employees were always asleep, playing cards or watching shows on their cell phones when we went by. The toilet didn’t flush in our room, so we moved to a different room, however garbages were never emptied and sheets were never changed. Upon leaving the hotel, my young daughter and I were approached by someone outside of the Holiday Inn/Wyndham front doors asking us to assist with rolling his weed. Also, one elevator was not working and there was a restaurant that was never open.
