Super 8 by Wyndham San Antonio Pearl District / Downtown

The motel was torn down I am trying to get my money back. I paid for nine nights in advance.

This place was horrible. I changed one room that had broken side tables and no lock to another room with broken doors dirty floors sir. It was nasty couldn’t go anywhere else because by the time I got to San Antonio it was already 12 o’clock in the morning and I was too tired to try to find another hotel and lose money. This place was a dump.

I don't think the the floor was swept before we got there. There was hair everywhere. It was disgusting. Shower handle was broken and the toilet paper had pee stains on it. It was pretty bad. Took about 2 hours to get towels to the room since the front office was closed for about 6 hours. I've stayed at this franchise before in other areas and usually have a great stay unfortunately not this particular location.

I liked that the air conditioner worked great. That’s about it. I have never written a bad review before, and I have traveled a lot. But this place is a pit of despair. Everything, including the floor was filthy. We had 1 bath towel and one wash cloth for 2 people for 2 nights. Also, not much toilet paper. On our 2nd evening, our door key ceased to work. We went to the office and got our key fixed. We asked for a roll of toilet paper and a bath towel. She gave us tp, which was a “relief”. But the towel she gave us, upon inspection, did not seem clean at all. Like, she had gone through the dirty towels to find the least dirty one, folded it, and gave it to us like a fresh clean towel. The filthy little coffee maker had a used coffee pod in it and there were no unused coffee pods. Just the general filth and smell of the place was nauseating. I will say the clerk at the desk was very courteous and friendly.

Location This was one of the worst places I’ve stayed. The property felt very run-down and had a shady atmosphere. My room smelled like someone had tried to cover up cigarette smoke, and every surface seemed dirty. I wasn’t even sure if the sheets or pillowcases had been changed. I had to wear slippers just to walk around the room because the floor felt grimy. There was a large red hairball on the bed and a used washcloth dried up and hanging over the shower rod. Overall, it did not feel clean or well-maintained at all.

Cheap price, nice staff. That's about it. The floors were absolutely nasty - walk on them barefoot and it will leave your feet black. Never staying at this location again, even if it means paying double elsewhere. Not sure what happened to the service here, but I have stayed prior and it was never like this. Absolutely disgusting.

Excellent front lady but room was run down, no towels, saw bugs and just looked like a motel people lived at. Good location to downtown.

It's really quiet nobody is making noise o loud music come back to my room and I can sleep comfortably Me staying more time coz it was really nice but so sad I couldn't stay longer

The room had broken locks on door and there was no locks on the conjoined door. The lights didn’t work in the room, room was not clean.

Towels were dirty in our room. There was no garbage can in our room. Not enough towels for two.

The price is great. Please don't change. Bath tub is somewhat dirty. It has soap scum. And the water is not very warm.

Very helpful and friendly staff. Hot breakfast was waffles. Clean room. Bathroom needed updating but everything worked. Good price per night. Soft pillows were a bonus. Only concern our AC froze up but after turning it off for few hours it work fine again. It's perfect walking distance from river Walk and shops. Only con was pool was out of service.

The room did not look like the one pictured. I stayed in 117. The restroom was one large shower. No tub, no curtain. The bathroom and bedroom were both in states of disrepair.

Pool was really disgusting and the breakfast was just a waffle maker and a few oranges and a dry muffin. The front desk was guarding the waffle batter with their life and was only putting enough for barely one waffle in the bottle and there were multiple people needing one. Very noisy, they placed us right on the highway. The tv kept disconnecting and not working, won’t come here again.

Soda machine didn’t have no cash sign nor price and was not aware until clerk told me & it only accepts credit (lost $2.00) Swimming pool not open. Went in to office for breakfast and only coffee was available at 8:45m. Dirty sink, soap used

The room did not include pillows. The sheets and towels were stained and the room had roaches. Overall, I would not recommend and would not come back.

There were no towels, and every time I asked for towels, they said they were out. On our last night at the hotel, someone banged on our door at 2 am claiming they were from the sheriffs office but there was no one where I could see them.

Medicine was found on the floor from previous tenants, so cleaning wasn't thorough. No towels or wash rags in the room. No breakfast served during our stay. Was told before booking that rollaway beds were available for $10 a night, but none were available. Staff was friendly, but I won't take my family there again.

First off i reserved a king size room and got a double queen, i filtered out when looking fir a hotel that it would have breakfast and a pool...and it had no pool and the breakfast was a JOKE! a selection of 2 muffins...barely any waffle mix, employee got mad when i asked for more mix and then on top of that, no syrup...how is this breakfast?? Then we couldnt take anything back to the room...but yet we can krder v out.it sucked overall

Shouldn't be so strick with early check-in

The refrigerator didnt work, hanging smoke alarm, old dated disrepaired room. Holes in the walls, curtains and bedspreds. Praling paint. Hotrible hotel soap. Thon itchey towels. There were roaches in my room. The pool was not in service - it was adversied with a lovely pool.

It was a nice location just minutes from my appointment area but I got charge double I paid at the location and I got charge through Expedia also so one of the two need to refund me my money back. But other than that it was a good place.

Late at night, we were awoken by a woman at our window screaming, "leave me alone, it's over". The next night, a man yell8ng outside our doir. The third night, a couple upstairs arguing. I didn't ask for the midnite soap operas happening there. The employees are good people, too bad their workplace doesn't reflect that. Oh yeah, the roach in the bathroom took off when i turned on the light

It felt like i was in a horror movie

I found an underwear under the couch and wasnt mine, the toilet had lot of mooh, if I turn off the air conditioner there was a lot of humidity that the floor got wet, wehad to change of room cus the tv and lamps stop working suddenly

Our room got flooded due to the overnight rain. We only got a partial clean up after calling the front office and no accommodation or refund was offered.

Very disappointed. Have stayed at Wyndham before but after this but never again. Pictures of this hotel are great but definitely not what the hotel actually looks like; very bad advertising.

It was exactly what I payed for. which is to say not much, but it was clean and quiet.

Booke the room 2 nights for a San Antonio event. No wash cloths.. room and entire hotel was dirty and poorly maintained. Very dissapointed. Never again

Unfortunately the location is old, poorly maintained and managed. The staff is undertrained. I had to cancel mybyrip after stay one nighy and tje personnel of staff at the time could not appropriately reimburse me or check me out. My checking account was charged and reimbursed several time. It was a mess. I probably will not ever stay at this location again, which is a shame because it is centrally located

Never will i go back to a super 8 again. The first room they checked us into seemed to be kickdoored in. The front door would not stay closed (SAFTY HAZZARD).The second room they put us in was a disgusting mess with dried fluids everywhere and a genuine wet spot in the middle of the bed. Needless to say we left within 10 minutes of finding a diffrent hotel. The staff was friendly but what turned me off of the whole situation is what she said. ("Well you know this is a super 8 you get what you pay for"). I hope that yall use the money that yall wont refund to at least clean the sheets!

The room was disgusting. We tried cancelling after seeing the room, but we arrived too late. We had to clean the room ourselves. That room hadn't seen a broom and mop in forever. Really really dirty. Do not recommend this place even if the location is good.

Reserved a certain room months in advance and got here and they gave it to someone else. Room we got was not really clean they gave us 1 towel for 2 people for a 4 day stay . Everything sucked no pool it's closed no ice ugh

Staff very friendly however the room was not so clean, bedspread ripped, sheets and towels stained, outdoor pool closed and dark brown liquid in it, grounds not kept up, in what little grass they had for pets was covered in dog feces that was never picked up! Would never stay again!

The room had a terrible cleaning solution smell when I got in-I had to leave the door open for three hours to dissipate it. The shower knob was broken and almost unable to change water temperature-I took a Luke warm shower.

Do not stay here. Door to room was open and the lock was broken. Changed to a different room and the door latch to that room was broken. Room smelled and floor was dirty. The place needs help. Not to mention pool was not in working condition. Pool was drained but still had dark standing water

We left and found another hotel. Dirty and felt very unsafe!

Unfortunately my room was dirty at check in and didn’t get room service during my 3 day stay. The area is convenient since it’s right by the River Walk and Pearl District

Commode rocked side to side, beds were lumpy. Breakfast waffles were good. Room to eat in is small, but at least available. Towels were super old and small. No washrags or hand towels provided. Place is old, but at least seemed clean.

Horrible, found two cockroaches, stained towels and linens. DO NOT STAY HERE!!! Our front door had been kicked in at least once so it does not close all the way and you can see daylight. The bathroom door only opened about 14" so you have to squeeze through. We did not bother to shower there as the towels were so stained and disgusting looking. The cockroaches really hit the home run the next morning for the WORST hotel I have ever stayed in, and $184.12 cost on top of it.

Additionally, Room 127 had a water leak in the bathroom, and Room 102 had cockroaches.

We initially intended to stay 3 nights, but neighborhood and conditions made us cancel all but first night. Door jamb was broken, and we did not feel secure. There was a water leak above the tub -- an access door made it appear that this was an ongoing problem. There were no washcloths in the room. There was a coffee pot, but no coffee pods, sugar or creamer.

Room was dirty, bathtub was dirty, you could see daylight around the door, bathroom door looked like it had been kicked in a couple of times and there was a roach.

This us the worst place to stay at, the bed sheets and covers were smelly and dirty the same goes for the bath towels, really really dirty . Seems as if no care us taken to ensure the beds and towels were not changed as well as the tub being properly clean after someone had checked out for the day/days prior to me booking, we hope we wouldn't breakout with a rash or a transmitted illness

The room was dirty, holes and stains on bedding. The shower knob was broken. They had a coffee maker in room but not coffee, i asjed for some and was told it was brewed in the lobby, none available for the rooms. The lobby shuts down at night. The walls are super thin and we could hear the neigbors talk and their tv was on all night. The neighborhood is sketchy and our second night there was street racing, cops and gun fire. The house keeper was polite and tried to accommodate us as much as he could. That was the only good thing i could say. Do not stay here.

Bed was dirty as heck and sheets were disgusting and there was roaches everywhere and I had my 3 month old daughter there with me -10/10 would never stay there again horrible cleanliness customer service was exceptional

The property is right next to highway. All night I heard cars revving under the highway, police sirens and worried about the safety of my vehicle parked in lot.

The people that checked us in and out were pleasant and efficient. However, the room was absolutely filthy. I mean, i dont think the floor has been cleaned in months. There was also a very vocal disagreement between a number of people at 2am that kep me awake for some time. While walking out of the parking lot,a man that seems to live in the area mentkoned that he wanted to "kill someone". I wont stay here again.

That was an absolutely horrible hotel I booked a smoking room and when I arrived I was told there was no longer a smoking part of that hotel there were cigarette Burns in my bedspreads there was no safety measures on the door my curtains had tears in them the chair in the room was just absolutely horrible and filthy one of my towels look like it didn't get washed it just got folded and put back up off the floor

I always stay at this location because it's nice and the staff is very friendly and it has really good pricing when you need to get away ans everything is really close by.

Ensure rooms you give out are actually clean . I found broken glass on the floor which is a safety hazard as I had a dog and he could have been the one to find it first. Bathroom was full of mud and dirty stains on the bed. Was given a second room but was just as dirty . The second room was the last available room but regardless I didn’t want to stay there anymore and left for an another location .

Worst experience ever, the first room that we was put in had water flooding the floor. So the clerk put us in another unit. Upon entering it, the room was cold. It had a pine sol stench. The bathroom smelled like urin and mold. There was cockroachs all over and mold around and inside the frudge. We left and checked out a couple hours after check in. The clerk was rude when i called to tell him the people above us was having a dance party at 11pm. It was loud dirty and not worth catching viruses or worse. I dont recommend this hotel at all. It wont let me give no stars.

Room was not clean, service was great from the front desk, but the overall property was dirty, mold in microwave, stayed 4 days and they only took out the trash never swept the floor, would take the towels that were hanging but not the dirty ones on the floor.

The listed check-in time is 3pm, we went there at 3 to check in, but they said the housekeeping process got delayed so we waited for one hour. Also, the room was supposed to have a hair dryer, but it did not. We had to go to the front desk to let them bring one from other empty rooms. More than that, we found a “used” soap on the bathtub. Not end yet!!! The toilet did not flush well…everytime we had to flush for 4-5 times. AND!!!! There was a dead cockroach on the floor. It was a terrible and insecure stay. I comment one star is just because it’s the worst point that I can give out to. The property management should be improved, A LOT!!!

Room smelled bad

The location may be great because it’s close to downtown but truly this place was NOTHING like the pictures. They don’t give you enough towels. I had to ask for another since we were three people. The only saving grace is that the staff at the reception are super sweet. Other than that, don’t do it. The walls are paper thing. Also, there’s no housekeeping which is probably why they have bedbugs. Thankfully I was able to get my stay refunded. However, now we will have to sanitize and take preventative measures when we get home and hopefully we don’t end up with an infestation at home. If we do, I’m suing for damages.

This place was horrible. The staff was very friendly but the place just wasn’t even close to what was advertised. The room I book said it had 1 twin bed and 2 Queens. We had 4 people and there were only 2 beds. Hair in the bathtub, and my husband killed a roach. The continental breakfast was waffles an apple and a Danish.

Property seemed old but my room with a king size bed was spacious. The lady who's in the front desk was friendly. Says breakfast included but it was only waffle(make it by yourself) and pastry jam in it. But it's ok only one day I tried. No cleaning service unless you request. But it's not a problem for me I'm not a clean freak I threw garbage everyday by myself.

You can hear the next rooms conversation because the walls are so thin and they the room next to us the people were not talking loud

Employees were very corteous and willing to help with anything.Upon entering room A/C was not working properly.Front Desk sent Maintenance person and said everything was fine that it was 100 degrees outside and window unit was overworking.FD person offered us another room which was a bit cooler.which we took I went and bought a Fan at local walmart just to help circulate air in room.TV worked sometimes remote did not work for nothing my husband had to change or power on directly from TV.Pool water was murky and unkept.Exhaust in RR nor working as well.Pillows were very dirty yellow color.shower curtain was stained of I dont know what.I feel like they to need to ugrade many things to each room.I picked this location due to being so close to downtown and attractions we would be visiting.There was a door joined to other room which was sealed off but you could still hear everything from other room from toilet to conversation.I feel like more can be done to make this motel modern and nice.

Room did not have bath towels to begin with. Light in bathroom was very dim you call fall while taking shower. King bed had a huge dent on right side. Room was not worth the price i paid. Not recommended at all. Woke up with sore back. Toilet way too low.

Location is EVERYTHING for this little Super 8. It took us about 10 minutes to walk to the Pearl and we had a senior dog with us, so we weren't walking fast. The room was exactly what you would expect. Everything felt decently clean, there was no weird smell. The blowdryer in the bathroom didn't work which was disappointing but everything was perfectly suitable for a quick cheap overnight stay. I highly recommend this hotel if you find yourself looking for an overnight stay in the Pearl district without breaking the bank.

Location was okay for the trip I had planned.

The staff was very friendly and helpful but the room itself wasn’t the greatest. The shower was broken, the phone in the room was broken and didn’t work at all. There was no smoke detectors in the room and the small fridge didn’t get cold at all. We definitely should have got some type of compensation but lesson learned. We did enjoy our trip otherwise.

Was good place and quiet

The bedsheets were gross and they were all dirty. The bathroom was gross dirty, and there was roaches in the room. It was very loud. I thought we were going to get killed. Don’t recommend this hotel at all.

The room was generally good. Large TV that worked well. Our main complaint is the shower with a lukewarm water temperature. Not very satisfying when one is hoping for a nice hot shower after driving all day.

But room needs sound barrier, can hear every words from next room.

I hate having to give a poor review. My wife and I booked this motel six months, in advance, in anticipation of the solar eclipse. When we arrived the king sized bed we had reserved had been given to someone else and we were left with accepting a queen bed room as we had no other choice. We had to go to the office for toilet paper and towels as there were none in the room they assigned us. During our stay we decided to drive to visit a nephew in Austin. The floor of the room had a filmy feeling and we asked if it could be swept and mopped before our return. We delayed our return by a day and when we got back the room had not be touched. Beds unmade, dirty floors.

The breakfast was so bare-bones...really pathetic. Only thing they had was coffee (no decaf...no juice, no water...just regular coffee) and waffles (with no butter). That's IT! (Oh, wait, on our second morning they put out two oranges...I grabbed one and another lady grabbed the other). The property itself is very ugly, overshadowed by the elevated freeway. The good thing is that it was only 1-1/2 to 2 blocks from the north part of the River Walk. It was about a 1 to 1.2 mile walk to the downtown "touristy" part of the River Walk (we walked both ways the first day). Very nice.

I have stayed at this property previously. This time was dissapointing. Had hair clipping in bathroom sink, had just one hand towel ( no other towels). AC buttons were worn off so you couldn't make adjustments. Breakfast was just coffee and waffle. No other choices at the time.
