Reviews
The hotel is generally well-liked for its beautiful property, great pool area, and wonderful location, with many amenities and close proximity to the Gaslamp quarters. However, some guests had issues with the check-in/check-out process, room cleanliness, and extra fees.

Resort like property with island vibes. Very bustling though if that is not your thing. Check-in was unfriendly, rude, and unkind. Set the trip off on a bad note. Otherwise excellent stay and convenient location.

Very nice stay. Just stayed one night for a staycation. The room are nice, clean and new. We had a balcony overlooking the bay. It's small, but did the job. The view was great. The pool area was very nice. Two pools and a hot tub with poolside bar. Check in took a while because there was a long line; otherwise, no complaints. It's a great location if you want to be at the bay, in downtown and/or right next to the convention center.

Great stay. Big price tag.
- 4/5
Really nice hotel; friendly, helpful staff; clean (housekeeping staff was great); nice pool area; convenient location - steps away from seaport village, ferry, midway; totally enjoyed our stay in 2 adjoining rooms with kids. Four stars because of food choices- Starbucks only open till 2 and twice the price outside the hotel; poolside bar/grill closed at 5; Marina Grill super expensive. The Exchange had decent food and was open at all hours but pricey. With kids, we needed to eat at the hotel more than we would have liked. However, that said, we would stay there again!

2. Elevators were very slow, especially when there were conferences and the hotel had high occupancy. Long line of people waiting for elevator that I've never seen elsewhere. 3. Elevator noise was very significant in rooms closer to the elevator. 4. They had a $47 destination fee per day, then they give you $24 credit that you can only spend in the stores inside the hotel, where the prices of everything were unreasonably high. Very smart to figure out how to make more money - way to go Marriott!

The pool area is fantastic! Plus the balcony off the room made it more memorable. It’s pretty pricey especially after you include the daily parking fees and daily mandatory resort fees.
- 5/5
Friendliness of staff was hit or miss. The room wasn’t thoroughly cleaned upon our arrival (trash on the floor, hair on the bathroom counter/floor/shower). Top Golf located on the property was $100/hr and was not fully functional. Breakfast buffet would have been amazing if the food wasn’t room temperature. You’re located across from the train tracks and the train sounds its horn frequently throughout the night. Overall, the location is great but I wish my experience was better.

Great experience. A resort in San Diego
- 5/5
The room that I stayed in was very clean, spacious and my view was incredible. The amenities and hospitality were fantastic. Walking to Roys for dinner was amazing. I will definitely stay here again when in the area. 10/10. Until next time San Diego.

While the property itself is beautiful, my experience was severely marred by a deeply disappointing and deceptive interaction with the staff. During check-in, your team offered me what they explicitly marketed as a premium "upgrade with a balcony." Trusting their recommendation, I accepted. However, upon entering the room, I realized I had actually been downgraded.I originally booked and paid for a premium Bayview room. Instead, the room I was given faced the building's loud air conditioning equipment. The noise from the balcony was deafening, making the outdoor space completely unusable. It is incredibly disheartening to realize I was intentionally misled by your staff. I paid for a scenic, peaceful view and was instead tricked into taking a noisy, undesirable room.

I stayed for 3 nights and had an amazing experience. Property was clean, room was great. Staff was also helpful and friendly . I will definitely be back !

Disappointing
- 4/5
Clean room friendly staff , they have a small food shop but very expensive
- 2/5
Oh, and another per day fee for self parking. I guess some fee isn't too surprising here but ouch. The room itself was fine. Nothing special. For what you pay for the name Marriott, I didn't expect to get a shake down then nikled and dimed. If it's a mandatory fee, it should be up front in the price. Nothing sets the tone for an experience better then having to pay again after you've already paid. Doubt Marriott will be on my list in the future.
- 5/5
Great stay friendly staff and guest. Walking distance to padres stadium and gaslamp
- 1.5/5
Nothing!!! From the moment you arrive, you are greeted by the rudest staff. After a 6-hour journey, you are met by the rudest person imaginable, acting as if you don't know why you're there. They don't even offer you water; you're told to buy it yourself at the market. In the morning, despite a "do not disturb" sign, housekeeping knocked on our door repeatedly and finally came in to ask when we would be leaving. This was a very interesting experience for us. I absolutely do not recommend it and will never stay at a Mariott hotel again.

Amazing property absolutely stunning inside and out. Staff are the best ever and make a difference in your stay. Food and beverage, what can I say something for everybody. We will be back. We love the Marriott marquee.
- 4/5
Great hotel. Unfortunately not all the elevators were working and it was a busy weekend, so there were queues. We ended up taking the stairs quite a bit. It was manageable for us on the 9th floor, but I feel like if we were up on 20 or so we would have spent quite a bit of time waiting for elevators. Not what I'd expect at such a fancy and expensive establishment.
- 5/5
Everything was great, customer service, clean

Clean room and nice staff

The rooms lack even basic amenities like water bottles, the sofa bed was quite terrible.. the staff were courteous and helpful
- 1/5
Pool area was fun for kids Tampon applicator found in room, my kid picked it up - that’s beyond disgusting. House keeping also left out door open, pool water was cloudy from all the folks, hot tub had dead flies floating around…everything was beyond overpriced but that could just be our economy…parking garage trash was overflowing the entire weekend…I was disappointed.

The hotel is beautiful and it's in a great location close to restaurant's, shopping and water activities.
- 5/5
Our first time here and absolutely fell in love! Everything was in walking range whether you want a night out drinking or a nice relaxing night. We ubered to Little Italy and enjoyed a nice walk back to the hotel by the marina while watching the sunset. The room was clean with plenty of space, we had a balcony and the view was of the ocean and the city. Drinks at the Agave bar were great and strong, enjoyed the music by the pool! We ate the Marina kitchen for lunch and than before leaving we had their buffet brunch. 10/10 would recommend!! Before leaving we were already talking about our next trip back!
- 5/5
Big, beautiful room with a marina view. Very clean, well maintained property. Will definitely be back!
- 5/5
A great location…I love Marriott Hotels. They are always clean and great amenities.

Super spot walkable boardwalk local folks sooo nice going back and stay again
- 5/5
Check in was so smooth along with valet parking. Staff made everything so smooth and easy. I would definitely pay good money for this experience again.
- 5/5
Amazing stay from start to finish! The staff was friendly and professional, the rooms were clean and comfortable, and the overall atmosphere was relaxing. Great location and excellent service. Would definitely stay here again. 5 stars!
- 5/5
Overall, it was clean the room was neat and tidy. We ate at the Agave and the food was delicious. The servers were nice.
- 5/5
Wonderful time
- 5/5
The rooms were very clean. They had the necessary utilities and everything that was needed such as the kitchen and bar were close distance to the rooms. My partner and I stayed for two nights for a concert at The Rady Shell, which was very close to the hotel. We loved the stay, very comfortable. Around the area were multiple spots to hang around and explore. It was a very lovely experience and we definitely loved the pool. Most likely we would come again in the future.
- 4/5
I liked the hotel location next to the marina. The swimming pool area with bar was very nice and relaxing. Very good landscaping. I would return again.
- 5/5
Always amazing!!
- 5/5
Besides false advertisement everything else was good.
- 4/5
We stayed in Tower B, and the main issue for us was the noise. On Sunday there was a marathon near the convention center, and we could hear everything being said over the microphones very clearly from our room. We feel like staying in the other tower or upgrading the room might have helped with the noise level. Other than that, the staff was friendly, and the hotel itself is in a great, walkable location near the Gaslamp Quarter and the waterfront.
- 5/5
Check in was a breeze! Thys place is right at the marina, walking distance to Sea port Village, walking distance to really everything! The amenities are amazing!! This is my new hotel every time I go to San Diego!! Go see Johnny at the bar and ask for the Johnnie Juice shot!!!
- 1/5
Hair left in shower; bell desk lost luggage; car valet didn’t listen twice. and did not assist with loading luggage when leaving; snacks store ALL beverages were literally room temp- food items were not labeled so had to get in line to inquire ; house keeping knocked on door for service when do not disturb sign was on door and debated our check out time with us- parking was $75 which I felt should have been disclosed ahead of time

Their hotels are clean and well-maintained. Also, they have great restaurants inside or snacks and vending machines which is helpful and easy to get to. My only wish is for them to have more electric chargers.
- 5/5
Staff were great! Property was clean. Great location Food was a little over priced but overall would stay here again.
- 5/5
This is my favorite hotel to stay in San Diego! Love their pool area, restaurants surrounding the hotel.

Stayed here for a work conference and stayed a few extra days for vacation with my family. Lovely property and walking distance to the convention center and Gaslamp District. This is my 3rd time here and will definitely be back!
- 5/5
Beautiful resort to stay at, excellent service and amenities.
- 4/5
Amenities were very expensive
- 3/5
Had dinner at the Marina Kitchen. The service was slow. My cocktail was not made or served correct. The food runner asked my husband if he wanted ketchup and my husband replied, “yes, please”, but he never brought ketchup and the waitress never returned to see if our food was okay or if we needed anything. Additionally I didn’t find the restaurant very clean and had almost a cafeteria or pizza place vibe. We stayed in a delux king room with a balcony which was overall fine but the balcony was so small it was barely usable and the bathroom was literally smaller than our bathroom in our 22’ camping trailer. The selection of drinks in the gift shop was horrible, same with all the Pepsi products in the restaurant. We stayed for a concert at Radys Shell, which was a super short walk- fantastic, meanwhile it’s 75/ night to valet park!
- 5/5
Great services and hotel. They even gave us credit to use to celebrate our anniversary, great staff.
- 5/5
Everything was great! Staff location view from our room. Our room was clean and beds were very comfortable. Food at restaurants on premises were great.
- 5/5
Fabulous hotel to stay in and staff are very helpful. Restaurants and food bars are on the expensive side.
- 4/5
This is an expensive hotel. The most annoying part of staying here was the cheapness - it was annoying to pay a high fee for mediocre WiFi of dubious security. And the hotel restaurants are very pricey, and somehow the desk clerk pushed me into a pricey “Bonvoy” membership which cost about $50 a day and gave me not much in return. When you’re already paying a high room rate, who wants to feel like they’re trying to further gouge you at every turn? Overall this is a lovely place, I would stay here again. But I would resist the extra fees, they didn’t add much.
- 5/5
Great stay

- 5/5
Great amenities, clean rooms, great service
- 3/5
I would say it’s a good business hotel. Food was average at the restaurant, in my opinion too expensive for what you got.
- 5/5
We were extremely happy with the hotel and staff. It was an amazing stay. The only negative, which was very minor, was the cleanliness of the pool and hot tubs. Quite a bit of sand / debris at the bottom and floating trash (napkins, etc). I suspect this was more due to the constant high winds blowing things into the pool so was not overly concerned.
- 5/5
Destination fee Parking fee

- 5/5
Had a great experience
- 5/5
Beautiful resort. Walking to Petco Park was the best!
- 5/5
Wonderful staff, fresh breakfast and comfy room
- 4/5
I liked the location of the hotel near all tourist attractions like Balboa Park, San Diego zoo, Little Italy and more. The rooms were cleaned and had a nice view of the marina. The restaurant inside the hotel was very good too. The cons; the hotel was booked due to convention's, checking took long, valet took long to have your car ready, there was lines to get in the elevators and stopped at multiple floors, with kids that was very difficult since they have no patience.
- 5/5
We enjoyed our time at the Marriott. We love the pool area and the location, right on the water near Seaport Village. The room was well kept and clean and the staff was always courteous and helpful. Would definitely come back.
- 4/5
It’s a great location to move around, a bit expensive, doesn’t include breakfast, but the hotel is great, and I love the pool.
- 5/5

- 5/5
I love this hotel, very well run. I'm never disappointed!! See ya'll soon!
- 5/5
Great!
- 1/5
The front desk was dismissive. We even asked to downgrade to a standard room just to get a pool or city view at minimum, but were told the hotel was fully booked due to a conference so we were out of luck. To make matters worse, we were charged a $50/day resort fee while both the pool and hot tub were closed for a private event... which is one of the main reasons we chose this hotel. We ended up checking out early and moving to another hotel for the rest of our vacation. Overall, a very disappointing Marriott experience.
- 5/5
Everything on point I'll be back 👍💯💯
- 5/5
Really good
- 4/5
Having essencials in the bathroom would have been helpful.
- 5/5
The hotel was amazing
- 5/5
The rooms were very nice! Very clean! The AC worked perfectly and the shower was hot! Beds super comfy!
- 4/5
If you want to dry off and exfoliate at the same time... great, the towels hurt your skin!
- 3/5
It is a beautiful hotel in a convenient location but you can stay at any number of other places that also are lovely and convenient and dont price gauge you. PS We travel regularly all over the country (including resorts in Hawaii and others in SanDiego). We are not opposed to splurging. This is the first time I have been so offended by the upcharges to leave a review.

- 5/5
Excellent service and location. Very nice pool area
- 5/5
friendly and helpful staff
- 5/5
Customer service was amazing, very accommodating and kind. Got upgraded to a room with a balcony and view, for free, and got late check out without even asking. The staff was able to put 7 families on the same floor near each other. A fun, clean, large hotel. Only bummer was the pool bar & food didn’t open til noon.

The city view was ok, nothing special - our room was next to the elevator so was pretty disruptive at night. The pool was great and heated in the nighttime. Lots of dining options of varying prices.

- 5/5
Food pool room view…
- 5/5
We had a great time. They had everything we needed on the property.
- 5/5
Everything was wonderful. Had to get all room keys reprogrammed to get out of the self parking but otherwise great property with access to boardwalk shops and parks.
- 5/5
We appreciate the hospitality the only rhing
- 1/5
I paid so much money to get nice city view. That's why i chose this hotel over other hundreds of hotel in city but i the room i got had no few at all. It says 6th floor which includes 2-3 floors of basement. Very very disappointed. No more visits to this hotel. Parking was hassle.
- 5/5
Pool was amazing!
- 1/5
Don't go here $45 a day for parking when you are checked in on top of room price. Very hard bed loud thin walls, Internet is free but weak, for an extra price you can get good Internet.
- 5/5
Clean room. Friendly staff
- 5/5
Beautiful location, modern and clean, would definitely come back.
- 5/5
Rooms were great!
- 5/5
Very nice

Stayed at the Marquis with my child and family. Great property, decided to upgrade to a balcony bay view room at the check in counter and did not regret it. The view was breathtaking. The room was clean. The staff was super friendly and took care of our needs. I always request extra towels and they were able to provide them promptly. The pool and small splash pad was a great activity for my child. Would likely stay again.

- 5/5
Everything was perfect from beginning to end thank you Marriott!
- 5/5
clean room and nice amenities
- 5/5
Awesome staff, hotel family friendly.
- 5/5
The property was immaculate! By far one of my favorite Marriott properties to date. Definitely coming back in the summer. Not to mention the Staff is very accommodating and friendly. The cleanliness of the property is excellent.
- 5/5
Quiet comfortable rooms. Excellent food in Marina restaurant - breakfast lunch or dinner all very good quality
- 5/5
Outstanding hotel! Friendly courteous staff and amazing room with breathtaking view.
- 2/5
The room had few amenities, the noise from surrounding rooms was very apparent, the supposed pantry in the hotel was so overpriced that it felt as though it was a joke, my wife had to pay over 30 dollars for feminine products that would total four dollars in any other store and given the storm in San Diego we were stuck in made it hard to leave the hotel. The food options were small and extremely overpriced with also the WiFi was not working and the hotel chain would not allow rewards to be accepted through Expedia their WiFi was so bad the tv could barely connect yet they had the audacity to charge 15 dollars per day for WiFi. Unfortunately it was so overpriced and price gouged that I will probably try to avoid this app and Marriott all together. Atleast at a best western you know what you’ll get, this chain is only good for a view
- 5/5

- 5/5
Great location!
- 5/5
Courteous front desk, pool staff and housekeeping. Very family friendly and fabulous location
- 3/5
The room & staff great. The price & then the “amenity’s fee” on top of that made the one night stay outrageously ridiculously expensive. It’s a shame these corporations charge excessive fee. We didn’t get an email until this morning, (the day of check out) of all the amenities the hotel had.
- 5/5
Beautiful hotel with many accommodations and clean rooms
- 4/5
I was not happy with the towels. I could get better at the Holiday Inn. I was expecting soft, cushy towels at the Marriott Marquis and was disappointed. It would have been nice to offer robes as well.
- 4/5
Staff was great!
- 3/5
My husband and I really enjoyed our staycation. Everyone that we encountered as far as staff were very polite, attentive and accommodating. It really gave a welcoming feel. The room was spacious, clean and inviting. The pool and Jacuzzi were very enjoyable and location was great! Close enough to walk downtown or along the Marina. The Cons:Pricing! Everything adds up!!! We were VERY disappointed in the cost of parking which was $45 for self parking! That is an outrageous and ridiculous amount to pay just to "park"! They also charge a $45 "amenity" fee! Make sure you use the pool, jacuzzi, spa, fitness center and any other amenity they offer because you are being charged whether you use them or not! Again, ridiculous. Expect to pay another $100+ on eating at the resort. We ate at the breakfast buffet and paid $97 (includes $tip) for one plate each (2 people) and two coffees. This price could be worth it if you come hungry and eat more. Overall, my we did enjoy our stay but wish we would have known about the pricey hidden fees.
- 2/5

- 5/5
Excellent customer service
- 5/5
Great hotel. Would gladly stay there again.
- 5/5
Unbelievable stay!!!!
- 1/5
It took 25 minutes to check in, the hotel charges $45 for “amenities” you don’t use … the rooms have small scratchy towels and very limited supplies - ours wasn’t serviced until 4 in the afternoon … it’s a huge impersonal hotel… full of conference goers … don’t bother
- 2/5
We had to wait at least 15 minutes for the elevator every single time during our stay, which was terrible. We also had to pay extra for parking, breakfast, and even Wi-Fi. We won’t book this place again.
- 4/5
Great location, lot of hang out space, fireplace, and the fountains are relaxing
- 5/5
The room was great, great views of the city and marina. Location is great. Overall I’d recommend this hotel. Brought my girl for a weekend getaway and we both loved it.
- 5/5
Our stay was great love location and all the amenities great place to stay
- 5/5
Very nice facility excellent staff room was clean as where are all the common areas. Food options were very good.
- 5/5
Everything was great
- 5/5
Great place for families!!
- 5/5
Great service
- 3/5
Good hotel overall, but elevators in the north tower did not work properly. 1 or 2 were working at a time. Caused 5-10 mins wait each time. Had to take stairs multiple times
- 3/5
Parking is expensive and house keeping is not regular
- 2/5
had to wait too much time for the elevators … we even had to walk downstairs couple of times
- 2/5
The property itself was very nice. Rooms were clean and the view was beautiful. However there are so many hidden fees, misleading advertising and staff tells you things that aren’t true. Upon check in I was told I have a $28 credit per day. The lady said everything except gift shop purchases counts and it will be taken off your bill. So every day I would charge my coffee and some snacks to the room so I could get my credit. Wrong. Upon checkout there wasn’t anything taken off. They charge a “convenience fee” per day, on top of that they charge a resort fee. You would think that as much as you pay for a room the parking would be reasonable. It’s not. $45 a day and $65 a day for valet. I had met some family there to spend Christmas and my 4 night stay cost $1900. I was quoted by Expedia $1200. I would have rather saved the extra $700 and spent it elsewhere. To top it off, breakfast wasn’t even free. Never again will I stay here. Save your money folks, you can get a much nicer room with breakfast included for the price you pay here.
- 5/5
Excellent service
- 5/5
Great location next to Gas lamp quarters, Seaport village and a short walk to trolley Balcony rooms had superb Bay & City views Family friendly resort type swimming pool Attentive Bell desk, room service and staff Fast elevator Bad: Building parking is extremely cramped, getting in and out was a nightmare. Tip: Park outside the building in the open lot. Mediocre on premise hotel restaurants
- 4/5
Room was clean and updated, staff was good, the wait for elevators were the worst. We were in the north tower. Extremely long wait and over crowded. There was a line stretching to the starbucks for people waiting for the elevator. Going down was like a local elevator stop on every floor. People all waiting to get on

- 4/5
Great location, clean hotel. Got double charged for valet parking and had to ask them correct it. Everything else was good.
- 4/5
We’d better elevators or more of them
- 4/5
The staff are nice but we weren't aware there is additional resort fee everyday. Also the pillows are not comfortable.
- 5/5
It was excellent.
- 5/5
Great place to stay, everything close by
- 5/5
Excellent facilities! I would go back with my family for sure! Please keep the Starbucks open late.

Compounding the frustration, the information we received from hotel staff was inconsistent and often incorrect. Before visiting the buffet, we specifically called to ask whether reservations were required and were told that walk-ins were welcome. However, when we arrived and waited in line, we were informed that reservations were in fact required and that we could not be accommodated. Taken together, these issues created an experience that felt disorganized and stressful rather than welcoming, especially during what should have been a relaxing holiday stay.

It's a great place to visit and share time with friends and family.
- 5/5
Room is very comfy w fresh linen. Serviced daily. Front desk busy but efficient. Daily resort fee and parking a bit pricey, but hey, we’re on vacation.

Everything was amazing
- 5/5
Gorgeous hotel, perfect location! Beautiful, clean rooms and the staff were all so friendly and accommodating. We’re definitely coming back!
- 5/5
Getting the breakfast included in your stay was awesome because the price is quite costly. The hot tub was so warm. It was so relaxing tucked in the corner with privacy and shade. The staff was so friendly and helpful.
- 5/5
Great view and perfect location to go to the 4th st
- 3/5
elevators were sooooooo slow only two out of six were working and we were on the 25th floor
- 5/5
I had such a good stay here. This hotel is also surrounded by so much to do. Highly recommend
- 5/5
Great
- 4/5
Hotel is not up-front with add-on costs, e.g, you get a credit to use at the on-site restaurant, but if you pay at the restaurant (vs charging to your room) you're ineligible to apply the credit. I was also double-charged for parking and at a rate not listed (which I am still contesting with the hotel) and also had to send multiple emails to even get my itemized invoice in the first place. For the cost, poor service like this is inexcusable.
- 5/5
Excellent staff, clean, and loved the location $23 credit per day to charge to your room, will definitely stay again!
- 3/5
Very disappointed by both the price and quality of their thanksgiving dinner. Also, the parking situation is terrible. Lastly our room was close to the elavator which was very loud at all hours. Would not stay here again.
- 5/5
Great staff… very clean… great fitness facility!

With Marriott hotels
- 4/5
And clean rooms. Only issue I had was the thin walls, I could hear everything from the family and kids next door. Besides that, everything was great
- 5/5
Excellent amenities

Put real glasses in the room

On our first night, my toddler and I were awoken multiple times to people blasting loud music in the hallway and partying past 1 am. At 3 am we could hear people puking outside the room. During the duration of our stay, the hallway reeked of vomit. The phone in our room did not work for the entirety of our stay, so there was no way to ask for assistance whenever needed, which was clearly needed many times. On the third day, after a long day of exploring with my tired toddler, we came back to find ourselves locked out of our rooms. The battery to our door had died, causing our room keys to no longer work. Still, there was little concern over the inconvenience this caused having to wait for someone to fix the door. On our last morning, I called the front desk from my cell phone (since our room phone still was not working) to ensure that I could use my food credit without being charged. I was assured I would not be, only to find later that I was indeed charged along with valet parking fees when I used self-parking for my entire stay. All of the inconveniences with the price this hotel charges is absolutely ridiculous.

clean
- 4/5
Clean room, friendly staff, especially at check-in and restaurants.
- 5/5
Room was clean and cute. The overall hotel was beautiful.
- 5/5
I had a great experiencing. Travelled solo for a conference. It was just 2min walk from the hotel to the conference center which was great. The weather was not great but the hotel and facilities were exceptional. Just to note that the breakfast is paid (not included) but you also have 3 restaurants on site and 1 Starbucks inside the hotel. The hotel is also at walking distance of nice restaurants and also the coast for walks. Great choice.
- 3/5
At all it is a big nice hotel but they miss the little details about hospitality!! No welcoming gift , no complimentary water , but in general the service is good , the staff by majority are friendly and welcoming,
- 3/5
Room was great. Amenities were great. Perks were great. However, check-in wasn’t ideal. I couldn’t hear what our check-in staff member was telling us because a manager was speaking to another employee so loudly right beside us. I kept having to ask everything to be repeated. Directions to the elevator were vague, and we ended up walking the halls looking for the elevators to the north tower. A simple “Go in that direction, and turn left toward Starbucks” would have helped tremendously.
- 5/5
Great hotel
- 5/5
Awesome view from our San Diego bay view room. Conveniently located next to The Rady Shell venue. Great to have a Starbucks right off the main lobby.

Everything was great! Just wished all the taxes could be part of the package so I don’t need to pay anything at the end of my stay
- 5/5
Pretty location, nice room
- 3/5
Room was very small, mattress was uncomfortable, my wife had a hard time falling asleep due to lumpy mattress
- 5/5

Amazing property will definitely visit again. Great food options..!
- 5/5
Great hotel with a great walkable location…staff was very nice and friendly
- 5/5
Hotel was clean and comfortable. Has great views of the city and wonderful location. Parking is the only downside.
- 5/5
Clean, very helpful staff, quiet, good location, many available services
- 5/5
Great property and friendly people
- 4/5
We opted out on the cleaning. Great margaritas!
- 4/5
The food at the Marina Kitchen was average; dinner service was poor, with servers clearly overworked. However, breakfast and the morning service were excellent.

- 1/5
I don’t like their service. I forgot there my clothes and they didn’t return it.
- 4/5
We had a wonderful stay at the Marriott Marquis. The property was well maintained and our room was clean and comfortable. The best thing about the hotel is its location on the harbor. It was in easy walking distance to many shops and restaurants and a short uber ride to more restaurants and attractions. The pool was beautiful, it was just too chilly when we were there to use it. Be aware that this is a large convention hotel and the down side to that is it was crowded. As soon as one group left the next one was on the way in. If you are not with a group it may not be the hotel for you. We enjoyed our stay despite the people. The staff was friendly, elevators quick and location was everything!
- 5/5
Clean room
- 5/5
The rooms were clean and wonderful to stay in
- 5/5
Balcony View was beautiful. Staff was friendly and very helpful
- 5/5
the view from my room in the morning was unbelievable. I wish the morning Buffet breakfast had country gravy and some biscuits.
- 5/5
I loved the location. Close to Seaport, the convention center, and the train. Hotel was immaculate. I would stay again
- 2/5
Parking and valet service was awful. Called ahead spoke to valet manager, was told they could accommodate a truck and trailer. When we arrived they told us they could not accommodate a truck and trailer. We have to park 3 miles away. They refused to valet our car that we trailered and to self park it which was not monitored.
- 5/5
Amazing view- absolutely beautiful property. Worth the stay.
- 5/5
Lovely hotel, amazing staff, great location
- 3/5
Nice but prices are high for quality
- 5/5
Friendly staff, really clean property, perfect location. Pool feels very resort style. And the location is amazing.
- 5/5
Great place
- 5/5
The hotel is good. BUT before we checked out, we had lunch at Roy's Restaurant. When we ordered kid's meal which comes with soft drink. They served our 5 year old son cocktail as orange juice. My 5 year old had two sips and told me the juice taste weird. I tasted it and found out it was a real strong yellow alccoholic drink served in a kid's cup for a kid!!!! Completely ridiculous!!!!
- 5/5
Great hotel with gorgeous views. Walking distance to multiple restaurants, shopping, and sightseeing. Would definitely here again.

The room with a great view of the bay from the balcony was excellent!! The breakfasts fantastic. The staff spot on. Have nothing but praise for this place. Will use again, without doubt!!

Staff was amazing
- 5/5
Fantastic visit. We were celebrating a birthday and the person was sent cupcakes by the bell staff. Absolutely thoughtful. All staff was awesome and friendly. The pool was perfect. And we enjoyed the bar for a late night drink. Everything was top notch. Our room faced the bay with a balcony. It was very comfortable. Would stay here again over and over

Great service. Nice location. Beautiful hotel. nice restaurants
- 5/5
I love the visit there. The facility was very clean and very upscale. The only problem was using the hotel vouchers not every dining facilities accept them.
- 5/5
This hotel is top notch!
- 5/5
This is an absolutely beautiful, modern property in a great location - right on the marina!!
- 5/5
Everything was great no complaints whatsoever, very quiet very clean. We loved it.
- 5/5
The Marriott Marquis in San Diego is a top-notch hotel. I love staying here, their service is on point when greeted by the valet, to front desk personnel, housekeeping, restaurants personnel, any staff member I ran into to ask a question or directions the ambience the service from the time that you get out of your car.
- 5/5
Everything was great
- 4/5
Self parking is tight, limited and confusing for example bottom level has to walk to stair case, no lift, dark and scary. Exit from parking lot can be confusing. I got lost and end up drove onto pedestrian walking trail along the harbor because no signs or gates or warning, just open area. Need signs for that because people don’t know, honest mistake.
- 5/5
The breakfast buffet was awesome!!!
- 5/5
This resort was fabulous! We really enjoyed our stay. Perfect for staycation with the kids. Staff was great.
- 4/5
Also stayed on the 14th floor and elevator area smelled horrible. Like animal urine
- 3/5
The property was conveniently located. The pool area was not maintained very well. Lot’s of people, kids with food and trash. Couldn’t find a seat at 10:30 in the morning.
- 5/5
Beautiful property, great location and views, the rooms were exceptional, very family friendly with lots of amenities. Everything you could possibly need is in this property, we absolutely loved the boardwalk! 10/10
- 5/5
The hotel is well located
- 5/5
Convenient to everything and well maintained. Awesome breakfast buffet. They need to work on the bathroom lights at night. Its like getting blasted with 100 watts at 3am. Otherwise, great place to stay.
- 5/5
Amazing. We got upgraded to a luxury suite just because our room wasn’t ready as we were trying to check-in early. No extra cost. It had 4 balconies. I was speechless. We will be back sooner than later.
- 5/5
Ideal property to stay when attending an event at the Rady Shell!
- 5/5
Parking is super expensive and there are no nearby alternatives. Staff friendly, but checkin experience was not great as there were way too many staff on duty to check in 10s of people for a conference.
- 5/5
Beautiful property with great access everywhere. I came for a conference but bring the family!
- 5/5
We had a great stay. Very quiet, beautiful view of the marina and the ocean. Only issue was the elevators…very busy and one was malfunctioning.
- 1/5
It was a hit or miss with the employees. You either got a great person or the worst person.
- 3/5
We had a mesquito problem the first two days. Bites everywhere. Informed front desk, they sent someone up with a can of RAID!! We said no to the Raid. They gave a $50 refund. Pretty weak for the cost to stay at that property for 5 days.
- 3/5
Everything was great except for the long wait to check in. I arrived late and was surprised at the length of the line. Also it seemed like people were standing in the "Elite" express line and cutting ahead of the rest of us at the regular check in counters. The woman ahead of me deferred to the person who had just gotten into the Elite line, when it was her turn. It was not clear whether these people had to prove their "Elite Member" status. Seems unfair. Probably only one station should be dedicated to this line.
- 2/5
Really disappointing at check in both our reserved room types were unavailable. No queen beds, did not receive bay views, and was placed in a different suite type all together. Zero chairs open at the pool- most were saved for prepaid guests which were all sold out. Witnessed two guests in an argument over lounge chairs, security had to be called!
- 5/5
Loved it
- 5/5
We had a short, but fantastic stay. It was a beautiful property
- 1/5
Reserved a King size bed but the bed in the room was queen size. Staff and Management didn’t do anything to accommodate. Poor service
- 5/5
Only thing was that drinks were a pretty penny $40 for a cocktail kinda ridiculous overall, the place was very beautiful queen food was great. People were very friendly. I will definitely stay again.
- 3/5
I hope this message finds you well. I recently stayed at your property with my family, and while our overall experience was positive, I wanted to share a concern regarding an unfortunate incident that occurred on the last day of our stay. On that day, we had been out exploring San Diego and returned to our room (Room 1266) around 6:00 PM. My wife headed back to the room to freshen up, but on her way there, she noticed a strong, unpleasant odor in the hallway. Upon entering the room, she discovered that the bathtub drain had experienced a backflow due to what appeared to be a clogged sewer line. The smell and condition were extremely unpleasant and unhygienic. I’ve attached pictures for your reference. I immediately went downstairs to the front desk to report the issue. While your staff was helpful in relocating us to Room 2130, the situation caused a significant disruption to our evening. It took some time to arrange the room change, and in the meantime, my family had to wait in the lobby. This was not the kind of experience we had hoped to end our trip with—especially not in a hotel of Marriott’s standard. Given the inconvenience and discomfort caused, I would like to kindly ask if we might be eligible for any form of compensation, refund, or discounted rate. I truly hope management will take this situation into consideration when reviewing our request. Thank you for your time and understanding. I look forward to hearing from

Very resort feel, near Downtown San Diego
- 3/5
Room cleaning was okay. Elevators were terrible. Drink prices are outrageous. Parking pushed to convention center everyday.

- 5/5
Our stay was great. Can’t wait to go back.
- 1/5
Extremely overbooked. Parking was a nightmare. Service imposible with so many guest. You don't get what you pay for. Breakfast in-house was just nit possible. Hundreds of people trying to get overpriced food. Just pathetic
- 1/5
The elevators were not working in the south tower, which made it horrible for us as we were staying in the 15th floor!
- 5/5
I loved this place, wish I could stay there longer!
- 5/5
The bar area was very very crowded
- 5/5
Iris one of the my Favourite hotel in aria
- 5/5
Close to Downtown/Ballpark
- 3/5
The room wasn’t worth the money it has bad smell. And beds and pillows we’re uncomfortable
- 5/5
Place was amazing! The staff incredible customer service they made our trip memorable.
- 4/5
I expected better for the price
- 5/5
The property was very nice and clean. The pool area was nice. They need a larger hot tub.
- 1/5
First, the windows in our room were very dirty, which made it hard to fully enjoy the view we paid for. Second, and most importantly, the parking experience has been a nightmare. While our car was parked in the hotel’s lot (for which we paid over $100 for two nights), corrosion from the ceiling dripped onto our car. At first, we didn’t realize how serious it was, but after washing the car, the paint peeled off both sides, leaving us with over $1,000 in damage. When I called the hotel, I spoke with Ashley (the operator). Instead of offering any accountability or support, she told me to “contact the owner of the parking lot” — even though this is the Marriott Marquis parking lot. When I pressed for help, she became dismissive, pretended not to hear me, and then hung up on me. This was shocking and extremely unprofessional. I now have to go through my insurance to fix the damage, but I’m very upset that a hotel of this caliber would wash its hands of the problem so quickly. Guests deserve better support and accountability, especially when parking is this expensive.
- 5/5
We got upgraded and treated well upon arrival and for the duration of our stay. Upgrades are always a nice perk when traveling.
- 5/5
Nice hotel with great pool and close to everything.
- 4/5
Everything was Good .
- 5/5
I absolutely cannot wait to return to the Marriott Marquis San Diego Marina. The location and view was fantastic! The staff exceptionally responsive and everyone delightfully nice. Honestly best Marriott experience I have enjoyed in years! And I have had other good ones!
- 4/5
They actually overbooked at that hotel. So, our reservation was transferred to a sister hotel called
- 5/5
Super nice property, great pools. The hotel was nice enough to let us check in early since our flight was early. Parking was not easy but that’s common for downtown San Diego. Our room never really got cool- even with a/c set to 65. The comforter and sheets were not the best, kinda thin and came apart easily when moving around in bed. The in room coffee maker was not great plus only two coffee pods, but there was a Starbucks in the lobby that we used instead. Overall was a nice place and I would stay here again.
- 5/5
The hotel was truly beautiful. The onsite restaurant options was very convenient. The pool area is clean and relaxing.
- 5/5
Beautiful stay, room, property accessible to shops, dining and walking.
- 5/5
Great location great restaurants and fun/entertainment within walking distance.
- 4/5
The elevators were extremely slow. We had long wait times/ long lines in the banks waiting for an elevator.
- 5/5
The Marriott Marquis is a beautiful property. I love the lazy river shaped pool and the whole vibe outside, with the palm trees, the lights, and the fire pits. I like how you could walk to the Seaport shops and the Gaslamp and Petco stadium. I liked the view of the marina, and walking to the ferry that takes us to Coronado Beach. It is a short ride to the airport.
- 5/5
the hotel was ever pleasant
- 5/5
Fabulous hotel! Within walking distance to shops, great restaurants and the marina. Pool was awesome too!
- 3/5
They only had 2 of the six elevators working in out tower and we were on the 25th floor. Spent a lot of time waiting to get up or down and crowded elevators. Sometimes 40min.
- 5/5
👍
- 5/5
Amazing city and views from the hotel
- 5/5
Great location, staff was great, checkin was easy. Will def stay again when back in the area
- 5/5
Everything was great--exceeded expectations.
- 5/5
The rooms are very clean. The staff is friendly. The pool area is nice. It’s really close to the airport. The bed wasn’t the most comfortable and was kind of hard. Absolute stunning views. I would definitely stay here again.
- 5/5
Tons to do around the area. Pool is great . Bit pricy on food and drinks but lots of options outside
- 5/5
The hotel was beautiful and in a great location. All downtown activities were within walking distance. The parking was easy to figure out and there were plenty of spaces.
- 5/5
Excellent place to stay!
- 5/5
Great place to stay.
- 4/5
3 out of the 5 elevators on south tower did not work the morning of Saturday 19th of July and it was somewhat chaotic.
- 5/5
Enjoyed my stay
- 5/5
Patrick at the Registration was very welcoming! I drove to San Diego for work! He knew from the traffic and the drive I looked discombobulated. I arrived late due to traffic and lane closures. In other words, I ran in traffic for 3 hrs. Without hesitation, he made my registration smooth and gave me directions to my room and open cafe to have snacks. That’s the way to greet guests!!!!
- 5/5
Best place to stay in 💯
- 1/5
As much as you pay for a room and it has no room service for food
- 2/5
arrived at 9 AM, tried to get early check in by checking in online and asking for early check in. Called too. Noone got back to us so we had to wait till 4PM. Our friends got to check in early and after we checked in we were told we could have used the pool all day while waiting which is what our friends did. Total bummer noone called us and told us, we spent the day at the mall becuse we were so hot and spent the day waiting till 4PM at the mall. I really wish we were told just to head over and would have had a vacation day instead of wondering around waiting.
- 3/5
We wait up to 15 minutes every time you had to take the elevator It never happened before
- 5/5
I would definitely stay here again! The only thing I’d note is that the parking structure could use some improvements—it was a bit dark and felt somewhat isolated at times. Better lighting and visibility would make it feel safer. Still, overall a fantastic stay. Highly recommend!
- 4/5
It was a nice stay. The sinks smell bad. The staff was ok.
- 3/5
Reception clerck not so friendly at arrival, hotel charges not clear vs was quoted initially
- 5/5

- 5/5
Beautiful property with very responsive and kind staff. The rooms were good, but not the biggest and the walls were rather thin. The kids loved the pool and walking by the marina. Room service from The Marina was lovely, just wish it had a few more options. My family would stay here again!
- 5/5
It was great
- 4/5
The hotel was good and the breadkfast was good. The suranding walking area was perfact. But don't buy the starbuks coffee.
- 4/5
Overall a good experience. Room doors bang loudly.
- 5/5
Very nice hotel
- 5/5
Perfect place to stay on vacation! They have an amazing pool area that includes a tiki bar, outdoor games, several fire pits, and beautiful landscaping. It’s steps away from Seaport Village, which is a fun place to shop or grab a bite to eat.
- 5/5
Excellent hotel location, amenities, pool, free hikes, cake, poolside games, food…great staff as well! Love location which is walkable to gas lamp, kids park, Marina, train, stadium. Love it! My happy place! Kid and family friendly as well as for couples and singles.
