Motel 6 San Diego, CA - Southbay

The property was disgusting, and the rooms floor has never been mopped. When I walked on it. My feet became black. I had to go and buy slippers in order to walk in my room. It was the most grossest place I’ve ever stayed in in my life. If I could give it a zero stars, I would I would not recommend to go to this motel six at all. It’s zero out of 10.

Good bed, housekeeping did a great job and room was large. Imperial beach was having issues with Mexican polluting the ocean and we could smell sewage at night. Also couldn’t swim. Bring an extra chair only 1 in room.

There is nothing positive There were COCKROACHES in the bathroom. I asked the reception to disinfect the room and they gave me fly spray. I said they didn't have anything else. I had to sleep in the car. I WILL NEVER SLEEP IN THIS CHARACTER.

Room was big and spacious. Beds were big but the mattresses were stiff. We did not get shampoo or conditioner and were not prepared for that so we had to buy some in order to shower.

Everything was clean and functioning. The ice machine worked. The staff handled issues with the neighbors well. The highway is so noisy that it was hard to sleep. The pillows were way too big. Good for watching TV, but bad for sleeping. The TV is super bright, so watching at night was painful for the eyes.

The property was pet friendly staff was super nice The only complaint we had was it was super noisy at night sirens constantly so if you're a sound sleeper you'll have no problem

The consistency in the upkeep of this Motel 6 is great. I keep coming back to this location and rest comfortably. The ladies in housekeeping are hardworkers considering that cleaning up after others is challenging. Overall, great staff/service/and an affordable and clean place to rest your head.

The only problem I had was roaches! I killed five roaches, the biggest one of which was crawling up my leg until I flipped it off, then it was on it’s back wriggling its legs, of course, I screamed, freaked out, hit it with my shoe, I hate doing that but what are you gonna do when boyfriend’s asleep? I suspect they may have been spraying in the next room over because they all came from that direction. Thankfully none crawled on me in bed!

We always stay here we love the location. As long as this place is here we will continue to stay here but we do wish they would have a customer rewards program so we could earn free or discounted stays after staying here so many times.

Property is very well maintained. Management, staff and housekeeping do an excellent job in the upkeep and cleanliness of the rooms and grounds!!

We got there a little later than usual; after 9 pm. Parking seemed full, because most of the customers were already in their room; however there was enough parking to accommodate our later arrival. Customer service was fast and friendly! Thank you!

It"s a great bargain, but if you are a light sleeper the location may be too noisy. I only heard the sirens (there's a fire station close by) because I was awake.

I will never hesitate again to take a room at Motel 6. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable and the lighting was good. The Southbay Motel 6 is not in a good area - ALOT of racing cars and motorcycles, but once I turned on TV, the sound wasn't that bad.

Had a random girl assault me and than they gave the room to her and kicked me out

I stayed over a year ago for 10 nights and one year later the service is still top notch and the property is well maintained. The housekeepers are impeccable when it comes to cleaning and the rooms are modernly dated and comfortable. The only eyesore is due to underground sewage/plumbing along the entryway path. Otherwise, by far one of the top motel stays within the Motel 6 franchise!

I stayed for 5 days and each day I would come back to the room it would be really clean.

Located on the corner of a busy intersection and right by the freeway. Sound of emergency sirens was frequent.

The tv didn’t work but the room was surprisingly nice and everything else was good.

Places to walk and have something to eat. Thank you 6 motel for the easy check in we will always be back as long as they have available rooms.

The staff put my family in 2nd floor which 3 of them are having difficulty to utilized the stairs while NO elevator in premise.

Basic motel that was clean and decently priced. Motel was booked solid and there was a lot of outside noise from a troop of band kids staying and barking dogs of other guests. Can’t do much to control those things. Hazards of budget travel.

My stay was terrible because I arrived here at midnight believing I have a room reserved and the staff told me sorry we cannot bring to you because your name on do not rent list I said why is that they told me because I had a shouting match with somebody in the management of the hotel last time I was here and that is absolutely not true I have never had any bad experience or any bad contact with any of the staff in this motel they told me I can come tomorrow and speak with the management but tonight I have no place to stay it's midnight and this is really truly wrong and very disappointing.

Our room at this motel was clean and had a working refrigerator and microwave, and the bed was comfortable. We would recommend this motel when visiting San Diego for the day and being able to get a good night’s sleep in a comfortable and clean room.

I got into the room and I was completely blown away how the room was extremely large and also completely remodeled. No charge for parking with plenty of parking. The staff housekeeping people are very polite and caring.

The room was spacious and the pillows were very good. Clean towels daily. I recommend this place and to my asian peeps, bring your own slippers and toiletries.

Room was clean and spacious. Didn't like the fact the tv was not programed. Also the toilet had no pressure when flushed maintenence and cleaningstaff needs to make sure everythingis good and ready for next guess. Other than that it was good.

The room was dirty. Dental pick and trash on the floor . Walls and doors dirty. Dirty stains on the bedding.

Place was clean and staff was very helpful.hotel has a pool on site and transportation right out front. Did not offer food but it is not a problem pizza joint right out front a lil noisy from the cars passing by but nothing to bad overall a great stay . Definitely would be back.

Very Friendly but very few handicap spots. They need to enforce parking. The vehicles didn’t have any sign of handicap parking placard or plates. I had to park at guest parking

We stayed for 10 days and we had a great experience overall! Although the surrounding area is questionable we felt safe. The room had new furniture and was updated. There is no breakfast, iron, or hair dryer so bring your own. The room service came in every day and cleaned up the room. We appreciated that a lot! The employees at the front desk were very kind and helpful!

I paid for a room with microwave and fridge and got a dirty room that smelled like cat pee

The staff was great, it’s not their fault it’s run down. The hotel stunk, they still allow smoking in some rooms. The beds were ok again it’s a motel 6 don’t expect much. But I couldn’t get over the air conditioner/heating unit. It was horribly filthy! Covered in so much dirt and built up gunk that doesn’t get removed unless someone cleans it. Water got turned off right before I got ready for a 5 star dinner, I was a little embarrassed I didn’t shower prior to that event.

Dirty floor. The toenails were still there after 3 nights. I put them against wall to see if they would be gone after daily cleaning, but they were still there. Shower door setup. To turn on water to shower you will need to be in the shower to turn on. Cold water every time. I Placed a towel over shower head to prevent this. The location is good, the check in person was very nice.

Ok place to just have one night stay

Room was very large and clean, check-in and out was very easy. Future visitors may want to be aware of the hotel's proximity to the freeway and the potential for traffic noise with that.

Overall great experience, I’ve stayed at a few motels in my time but this is probably the nicest motel I’ve stayed at. It was clean and had larger than most hotel mini fridges and microwave and it was nice to have free parking. The location was ok but right next to freeway but noise wasn’t too bad.
