Residence Inn by Marriott San Diego Rancho Bernardo Scripps Poway

We had an extra guest staying in our room and the staff provided extra pillow and blankets for us to be comfortable.

I always feel cozy and "at home", while staying at the Residence Inn by Marriott. From the pool, to showers, to the bed, TV, and breakfast, I felt pampered and relaxed. Thank you Marriott for an enjoyable Staycation!!

This was our first time staying at a hotel. Being in a new city let alone county, with two small children was nerve wrecking for my wife and I to say the least, but The Reserve really exceeded our expectations! It was clean, quiet and the staff were very helpful! The pool was a plus! Definitely a sigh of relief after an amazing day at Sesame Place. Parking was easy and close to the lobby. Also the complimentary breakfast was a life safer! Guaranteed a returning traveler and will be recommending it to our friends and family!

Hotel is due for an update. Furnishings carpet appliances are tired. Staff was very helpful

This was such a beautiful property. Easy parking. The staff was nice and the rooms were very modern and comfortable. I reserved a king bed suite and we were give a queen bed room. This was easily fixed by the front desk associate without any other issue. We will absolutely stay here again.

This is a great area and this time we stayed, the experience was exceptional. All the staff were so friendly and the room was clean and comfortable!

Great room with plenty of space.. breakfast was below average but it’s also complimentary and it kept us fed so it worked. They have a make your own waffle station, which first day was pretty good, next morning it was broken. But otherwise a great place to stay!

The room itself was extremely clean and well put together. You could tell that a lot of attention goes into maintenance and presentation. The bed was comfortable, the linens felt fresh, and everything from the bathroom to the small details like lighting and temperature control worked perfectly. It’s one of those places where you walk in and immediately feel relaxed instead of needing to adjust things or overlook issues. One thing that really stood out was how quiet and peaceful the environment was. Even with other guests around, it never felt crowded or noisy. That made it easy to unwind after a long day and actually get solid rest, which is something I don’t always get when staying at hotels.

I enjoyed the seating area by the check in area, and it was really nice that they provided some fruits for snacks and infused water. The check in process was great, the staff at the front was incredibly kind. The room was very nice and clean. The breakfast was delicious! I would definitely recommend this hotel to others!

Yes, the hot tub was hot enough. Staff was very pleasant and helpful. Room was large and quiet. Hotel was centrally located to all areas of the County. We enjoyed our stay!

The property could use a spruce up. It looks a bit dated. The staff, especially the breakfast staff (Ruth) was very nice and accommodating.

The rooms are not clean and if you ask for daily cleaning it doesn’t get done or there’s some sort of miscommunication because they put us down for daily but then when we happened to visit the desk for an issue we found out that we weren’t scheduled but then was surprised with a cleaning and then the next day had none at all. When we arrived the door was not friendly and we figured it was just old but then had to have maintenance come because we got locked out. Maint guy didn’t even bother doing anything except tell us to close the door real hard and accused us of not closing the door all the way which is not the case. We had a day trip scheduled another day and were extremely delayed cus guess what we got locked out again. This time a new Maint guy fixed the issue which we were thankful but again time is money. We were only offered points but we don’t travel often and we told the front desk but didn’t offer us anything else and most def now we won’t be traveling again to this hotel or for a return with points so that wouldn’t be worth it. We lost our time on family due to this . Sheets and towels had stains , and one day as we waited for maint, the housekeeper was about to just let us in without any ID. There is no order here among staff and front desk is friendly except for who we checked in with. She was too busy flirting with her coworkers instead of doing her job. Don’t worry though she was able to give us a gross dirty room! Carpets gross, doors squeak and broken!

You transferred me to another property after sending a confirmation email the day before. Our room is not the same as what I paid for and there was an additional pet charge for the room. I AM NOT HAPPY

It was extremely comfortable and the room was gorgeous. It was like a modern studio apartment!

Couldn’t take a hot shower while I was there.

Really liked it here! Was super surprised by the size of the room — in a good way! It was a huge suite. We walked the 2 mins to Chilis across the way. So convenient as we could eat and drink without having to worry about rideshare. We only stayed one night but would again if ever in San Diego.

We enjoyed our stay. The breakfast wasn’t that great compared to their places we have stayed.

This place is very close to the Interstate. Even though it's not in the city, it was better.

Excellent experience except on the morning we left. Our room had a sewer smell that started after we took showers. The staff was exceptional, from front desk to room staff.

We stayed for 5 nights. First night, we got put into a room with a broken ac unit so had a portable ac hooked up to the window which was right next to a busy street so could hear the cars the entire night. When we woke up, the ac errored out so was 78 in our room and muggy. We had to go downstairs to complain then moved us to a different room. We were there for 4 nights and never had housekeeping clean it even though we did the every other day. I had called and they said we were on schedule for the next day but never came so had to call for new sheets/towels and changed the bed myself. We had a few towels arrive dirty/stained and didn’t look like it had been washed.

The hostess was very professional helpful and delighted.

Dishes in cupboard were very dirty but the staff were amazing. So helpful and nice.

We were greeted by a friendly ( and vary capable ) receptionist who quickly handled the Registration for our three rooms. Then minutes after we arrived in our room she called to ask if everything was satisfactory. The next day this woman greeted us like old friends. What a marvelous way to begin our vacation

Parking is bad

Room was good for our family visit. Enough space to relax for four days. Stovetop was handy, as was the dishwasher. Nice hot showers. Breakfast was good, with much variety. Coffee not bad either. First and second floors seemed to have the guests with dogs.

If you need a place north of San Diego, This is a decent option. Be good for longterm with good kitchen amenities. Breakfast was a good variety but seating could have been tended better. Entrance was not very obvious and decor pretty gloomy and dated in the halls. Area is pretty dead with not a lot of restaurant options. Pricey option and there is a lot in the area if you book early. Parking is an additional cost for an ungated lot. I would choose one of the other local options with free parking next time or park outside the lot as others did

I had never stayed at a Residence Inn, nor at a motel for two weeks. This place was great. The room was comfortable, clean, and had a full kitchen. The staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was good. We had a dog and the place was dog-friendly. Also, while in the ‘burbs, good 3 mile walks up and down hills that were beautiful. Restaurant next door. Shopping center 2 minute drive. Will go back and recommended to others.

a great home away from home!

The bed was very comfortable, but the sofa bed mattress was very thin and the kids were not happy with it. The room was extra spacious and very clean, and the full kitchen was handy. They offered housekeeping every other day, and the front desk ladies were awesome. The breakfast was adequate and the same every day: boiled/scrambled eggs, a protein that changed daily, yogurt, fruit, and muffins/breads, but no waffle maker. Oh and the oatmeal was fresh everyday, there were lots of toppings to go with it. We would stay here again, but I wish the sofa beds were cushier for the kiddos.

We did not have a bad experience but the hotel itself is in bad condition. It needs to be remodeled ASAP. Our bathroom was dirty. The capers inside our room and stair to the first floor were extremely dirty. The only good thing about this hotel was the location and the staff were all very helpful.

The staff went out of our way for us and gave us an upgrade when they realized they had the extra room and we were tired from traveling. The pool and exercise room are lovely. The bed was so comfortable. I highly recommend.

Room was nice and clean, plenty of room and space just a few things that I didn’t like. The couch for the pull out bed is worn, you sit on it and feel all the metal bars. They got issues with the plumbing the shower and sink filled up when on too long. And the emergency exit route and plan was literally taped to the back of the door. Bundled up tape in the back of the sign and tape across the top and bottom.

The separate bedrooms and a full kitchen that was stocked with dishes, and appliances was very nice. The furniture and appliances could use updating. Animals are allowed to stay there and the wear and tear because of that is obvious. The continental breakfast was good and plentiful. The staff were polite. The halls had a peculiar smell to them though. We asked for turn down service every day and only received it 1 out of 4 days.

The staff was very nice, they compensated the grievances by waving parking fee.

It was close to the places we wanted to visit and away from the crowded city.

Right in front of the hotel, there is Yanni restaurant which was adequate for dining with guests/customers, and a Chili's in a minute or two walking time which served its purpose well for dining alone or with few colleagues. These helped too.

Everything is good except bed comfortability.

Having a kitchen for the week was convenient. There is a Costco about 15mins away, so it was great to stock up on basics. The freezer also had an icemaker - perfect for our sports family and the summer heat. I had received an email early on checkin morning saying I could check in. When I arrived and asked to check in, the employee's first question to me was, "How did you reserve your room?" which I immediately read as, "How did you book your room so I know how I to treat you." What poor "hospitality". After several minutes and me explaining I had already received an email telling me I could check in, she basically told me that since I booked through Expedia, there was nothing she was going to do for me and I was going to have to wait until the afternoon. Even if I was a Marriot member. As for the room, the sofabed wasn't comfortable to sleep on, and consequently the sofa cushions weren't comfortable to sit on while simply watching TV. The bed itself was great. We had increasing number of ants coming in from the bathroom and called one morning when it seemed like it was becoming a larger problem. When we returned in the evening, they still hadn't addressed it. Average room, poor customer service. Good housekeeping.

Upon check in I noticed that the room had a portable a/c unit do to the central air not working..I was already displeased. The a/c unit was in the living room area not the separate bedroom. So the bedroom was not cool. I looked to sleep in a cool environment. Also my kids were very uncomfortable on the sofa bed. So went down to the Walmart and bought a queen blowup mattress $85 and a fan for the bedroom $30. The room was $1,200 for 4 nights and still had to invest another $115 because the comfort was very bad. The breakfast was ok..only ate it 2 days out of the 4 I was there. The tub barely drained. Housekeeping didn’t show up the day they were supposed to even though at 10am that morning when I headed out to the zoo I confirmed it with the front desk if housekeeping was going to do full service that day she said “yes” I also asked her to please inform housekeeping I need 4 full shower towels which she put in the system. Again..for what I didn’t get for the price it wasn’t worth it.

After checking different locations, I booked this by mistake, it had a king size bed and a sofa bed which was terrible, no cushion at all I could feel the springs and with a back injury was even worse. For a $300+ per night I expected more. And the swimming pool was so small
