Beautiful hotel. In a great location. Bars, restaurants reachable just by crossing the street. My only negative commentary would be there is no air condition in the rooms.
- 2.5/5
Location was great We had to find our own parking It was very noisy all hours There WAS a “window” but it was basically an opening that was covered so no daylight to enjoy the room

Very good
- 5/5
Great location, very kind staff, they offer breakfast.
- 4.5/5
Location is great, it's close to the trolley and bus stops, Little Italy is a nice place, quiet and with delicious food, and the hotel is comfortable with good amenities
- 2/5
Pictures look better than actual facility . We were asked to leave the lobby for talking in the early morning due to rooms 10 feet from lobby.
- 5/5
This property was very well maintained very clean very safe. Excellent staff I would stay there again.
- 4.5/5
Proximity to the Piazza Della Famiglia and restaurants. Bed was very comfortable and AC was efficient. Breakfast was included and parking more affordable than other hotels. Lady who checked us in was very nice and knowledgeable. Garage was about 2 blocks away although secure. Breakfast was included which I appreciate but could be a little better.

Location was fantastic. One block from Hop On, Hop Off and in the middle of Little Italy with some of the best food in San Diego. Quaint Hotel old but well maintained and clean.

The location of this hotel is unbeatable, right next to all restaurants in Little Italy. The vibe of the staff is easy and relaxed, and helpful and kind all time! Room clean and comfortable, and definitely very good value for money! The breakfast was a bit simple, with the little croissants, mozarella sticks, yoghurt and apples. It could have had some veggies like tomatoes, cucumbers or carrots, and some cut cheese or ham. Still liked it, just an idea for the future!

Place was cute from the outside and a great location but once you ever the building the whole vibe is outdated. When we checked in into our room the room was in okay condition as far as the looks of it. Bathroom floor had permanent stains on it and our pillows were dirty. I asked for new ones they were brought by staff quickly. The door handle from the outside was super loose and looked broken. The AC had a pee smell when it was blowing. Noticed it in our third night there(4nights stay) I just wished the owner/Manager would remodel and renovate for the price that I paid.

Parking was offsite, however my room wasn't cleaned by the time I arrived so the staff comped my parking for my stay and got my room cleaned within 30 minutes. Overall a pleasant experience
- 3/5
Hey there, it's not like me to say anything negative about anyone's business, and I wouldn't be saying anything bad if the price hadn't been so high. It's a great location, great for walking around Little Italy, it was quiet and pretty clean, and the front desk staff was friendly and welcoming. I think because it was the Memorial Day weekend, they increased the price so much that it felt like I was getting ripped off. It was not a $350+/night accommodation. If it had been half that price, I would say it was worth it for a quick overnight before a morning flight out.
- 5/5
Great location! Staff was friendly and extremely courteous (Macy was awesome) and hotel was very clean and updated.
- 1/5
The location is great. Right next to Little Italy. Staff very friendly Rooms very antiquated. Bed uncomfortable. Room very small. Bed seemed smaller than a queen. Room next to ally. Loud voices all night. Did not sleep at all. Considered moving to another location for night two but hotel was going to charge 160 dollars for cancellation.
- 3.5/5
Good location, right in the heart of Little Italy. Rooms were a good size, bed was comfortable. Breakfast was very basic, some dry croissants a yoghurt, cheese string, apple or orange, juice cartons. Rooms could do with a spruce up, decor very tired looking.

The hotel has a great location, parking was annoying as the parking structure was closed and we could go in and we had to wait someone to open the door. Breakfast could have a little bit more options, the ac is a little noisy. I would not stay in this hotel again, but overall the location is very good.
- 4/5
Location, it was very convenient. The rooms on the first floor definitely need an upgrade. The paint was peeling and chipping. The bathroom door cant close right because its damaged in the corner
- 3.5/5
Practical location, great staff
- 4/5
Clean, no nons
- 3/5
The hotel itself is more of a modest city hotel than the photos suggest. While everything was generally fine, parts of the property felt a little tired and could benefit from some redecoration and updating. The continental breakfast was simple but appreciated, and the staff were friendly during our stay. One thing to note is that although parking was described as “included,” there was an additional charge of $25 per day. Overall, it was a decent option for a short city stay, particularly if location is your main priority.
- 4/5
We did not have an ocean view at this hotel.
- 4/5
Parhing was catch as catch can. It was basically street parking. I know that tye hotel has a parking lot 2 blocks away where parkiing is $25 a day. If I'm going to pay that much it needs to be much closer
- 4/5
Facility was very clean, smelled clean and looked clean. Some stains on the curtains and a live spider were our only gripes. Breakfast could have been bigger but it did the trick.
- 5/5
Great location in the heart of Little Italy. Staff happily give recommendations for sights and food. Rooms are cozy and comfortable with a fridge and microwave for all your leftovers. Off site parking was easy to get to and close by. Will definitely stay again.
- 5/5
Awesome location in Little Italy. Very friendly staff.
- 4/5
The staff is very friendly, welcoming, and helpful. The continental breakfast includes pastries, yogurt, cheese, juice, and coffee/tea. We enjoyed eating breakfast at one of the hotel's tables on the sidewalk. The rooms are not fancy, but I found our room to be very clean and the bed very comfortable. Hotel location is great and felt safe, right in the center of Little Italy. The price makes this hotel a great deal!
- 5/5
It was perfect for us. Staff was friendly and got us discount on tickets for zoo. Bed was fine and breakfast was good and had some protein choices. Would stay again when in area, great location.
- 5/5
Nice location in a very walkable part of San Diego
- 5/5
Such a good location and good price. Lots of places to walk to and eat at. Facility was clean, and bed was comfortable.
- 5/5
The hotel was at a good location. Enjoyed the sights and restaurants in the area.
- 4/5
The air conditioning did not work but wasn’t a big problem. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
- 4/5
Very quiet and nice location. Parking can be an issue
- 3/5
--- My stay at Urban Boutique Hotel was overall decent. The staff were very nice, friendly, and helpful throughout my visit, which I really appreciated. The location is also a big plus—very convenient and easy to get around, but finding parking was challenging. The room itself was a bit smaller than I expected, but the bed was comfortable and I did like the hardwood floors. However, there were a few cleanliness and maintenance issues that stood out. The bathroom hardware was visibly rusted and could definitely use replacing. I also noticed that the mugs by the coffee machine had lip smudges on them, which made me question how thoroughly the room was cleaned. The complimentary breakfast was okay—there weren’t many options, but what they did offer tasted good. Overall, it’s not a bad place to stay, but there are some details that need more attention to make the experience feel truly clean and comfortable.
- 5/5
Clean friendly staff and a great location
- 1/5
There is no parking at all, you have to hope there is a spot on the street free or pay for metered. Elevator sounded like it was going to break. Luckily our stay was only for one night due to convenience of being near the port but will never do it again not worth the money spent
- 5/5
Great location
- 5/5
Location location location!!!
- 5/5

- 4/5
all ok
- 4/5
Everything was serviceable. The location is the biggest selling point to this hotel.
- 3/5
Location was great and staff was friendly as well as helpful. Property needs to be updated, and the breakfast options weren't good at all.
- 4/5
Quick friendly check in.
- 5/5
We needed somewhere to stay the day of the Padres/Giants game and most other hotels were way too expensive. Staff was friendly, room was clean. The swamp cooler ac unit did its job. Location is the highlight here. Parking was 25 a night and the lot was a few blocks away. Not a big deal. We came downstairs and there was a farmers market going on. If we’re ever looking for a budget friendly hotel option, we’d come back here.
- 5/5
The Hotel does have a Parking Garage, however it’s about 3 blocks from the Hotel & the cost is around $30 a night! But, your vehicle is safe and watched by security 24/7!
- 5/5
Great staff, killer location, overall good time.
- 1/5
The pictures did not match the property. They wouldn’t let me see the room prior to check in. No parking anywhere. They were eager to take my credit card then charged me for one night. I made the reservations hours before and it was supposedly fully refundable.
- 3/5
we had a room right next to an ally shared by the local cocktail club and they sure don’t care there is a hotel right next to them at 6am. room is nice if very basic, accommodating staff, cleaning surcharge confuses me because we got room service once at the start of the week then charged for the trash at the end because they never came back.
- 5/5
Good staff, in the heart of Little Italy
- 5/5
We enjoyed our stay in the Urban Boutique. Its location in Little Italy, in the heart of dowtown San Diego, is tough to beat and we appreciate how easy it was to get to our cruise ship. It was a short 15 minute walk downhill from the hotel's location. Our room with the Murphy bed we had in our room during our second stay, where our son was able to comfortably stay the night. The beds were well sized and the room was bigger to accommodate the second bed. We also enjoyed the breakfast -- simple but delicious pastries, yogurt, coffee and cheese sticks were served during our stay. There is a nice open, outdoor area right next door where I enjoyed my breakfast on Sunday morning
- 5/5
The staff is remarkable for their friendliness and help! The location of the hotel is fantastic! The rooms are
- 4/5
Rooms were certainly clean and comfortable. Good location in Little Italy if you expect to walk the venue. Parking in L-Italy is a challenge anywhere. You’ll need to walk 4 blocks to get to your vehicle unless you find other options. Decent value for the cost.
- 4/5
Staff friendly , Vicento was very knowledgeable and helped us with all discount available tickets. So much appreciated.
- 5/5
Amazing location, friendly and helpful staff. We loved that it is a pet friendly hotel, priced well and had parking for a good price as well. We will happily stay here again!
- 5/5
Staff members were very accommodating. Convenient location. Free Breakfast is available for all guests
- 5/5
The staff was excellent, we had trouble with the tv. I called the front desk, they came and upgraded us with no questions. they apologized for our inconvenienced. I have stayed there 3 times now because of the service.
- 4/5
Friendly staff. Great location for no car rental.
- 5/5
Rooms were clean and comfortable. The staff are wonderful. Parking is relatively close and very secure.
- 5/5
Great area.
- 5/5
No fuss nice staff excellent location. Would stay here again!
- 3/5
The breakfast was a basket of apples, croissants, string cheese and yogurt. There is no onsite parking and street parking is EXTREMELY difficult. The staff was wonderful, though and the location was perfect!
- 3/5
dated remodel - pretty bland with some tacky construction work - very nice and helpful staff
- 5/5
Wonderful front desk support and room served all of our needs. Highly recommend!
- 3/5
If you are looking for an affordable place to stay in little italy, this is right in the middle of everything. however the hotel is just a little run down and the walls were so thin that we couldn’t get any sleep due to our neighbors TV blasting. Also check-in was at 3 pm but our room wasn’t ready til about 30 minutes later.
- 5/5
Great location for a short stay
- 5/5
Great
- 5/5
Don't stay on the first floor, very small rooms and dark. We were transferred to an upper floor room which was more spacious and lighter. The term 'boutique' classifies the hotel as being artful, perhaps eclectic, but distinctly different from your usual hotel. Our first room on the first floor was more 'boarding house' than 'boutique'. The room they switched us to met the definition of 'boutique'. Breakfast was surprisingly good. It was the bakery pastries; not factory made.
- 5/5
I love Urban Boutique. The staff was amazing.
- 2/5
The hotel is more affordable than most in the Little Italy area and the staff were amicable, but don’t expect to be impressed with the ambiance because there is none.
- 3/5
The hotel is outdated and feels more like an old college dorm and visible stains everywhere. You can hear people in nearby rooms and above you, so it isn’t very quiet. My room did not have soap and didn’t have enough towels. There is also no daily housekeeping during the stay. Overall, it works for one or two nights because of the location, but I wouldn’t recommend it for a longer stay or if you’re looking for comfort and modern amenities. The staff is friendly.
- 1/5
Room cleanliness was gross, the hole room smelled damn trying to be covered with an air freshener. Rust everywhere in the bathroom. Couldn’t sleep because the sheets had a weird smell to them first thing I do in the morning ask if we could get new ones the cleaning lady told us to go ask the front desk then from desk refuses. Saying we barely checked in and service isn’t until check out even after I explained the issue?? Never again.
- 4/5
Reasonably clean.
- 5/5
The room was super clean and the bed was extremely comfortable. The staff were always really friendly and helpful with any questions we had. The only thing relatively annoying was our card keys seemed to get deactivated on a regular basis, but again, staff were very helpful. The location was phenomenal as well. Many fantastic things to do that are well within walking distance. We will definitely return!
- 3/5
The rooms were quite small, a bit too small but clean. Nicely centralized in the area of Little Italy
- 4/5
Yes room was clean staff was wonderful
- 5/5
The staff out Urban Boutique Hotel are very attentive and super nice. They made our stay welcoming and special. The location of the hotel is next to the fountain in Little Italy and easy walking for everything you need and close proximity to the airport.
- 3/5
Really nice low key hotel in a fantastic neighborhood with everything easy to walk to uber to. I wish I could give more starts because the staff was very nice and location so nice and the price was very affordable for the area, but I had 2 things that ruined my stay: 1) the room had a very strong smell like acetone. I got used too but I was not sure what it was. 2) there is absolutely not isolation between room. I could hear everything from my neighbors including their snoring! Breakfast is very light and I always went too late to get the good bakery.
- 5/5
The room was clean and had everything we needed. The front desk staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast options were lovely. We loved the location. Thanks!
- 2/5
A lot of surrounding noise to include staff being loud in the hallway.
- 5/5
Great place to stay in Little Italy. Staff was awesome.
- 5/5
The room was very nice. Cleaned perfectly. Some power switches didn’t work so we told maintenance and they right on it. Staff is wonderful. Breakfast was very nice grab and go.
- 4/5
Good
- 4/5
Clean room, great staff, great location, just no safe in room
- 4/5
The location is fantastic with close transportation options. We chose public bus & tram with no issues. Hotel was ok. Reasonably clean, staff friendly, breakfast is really coffee & bread item. Lobby seating is challenged
- 5/5
The room was great. The room telephone to the front desk needs repair. All good!!
- 3/5
Front desk staff was really friendly. The breakfast was coffee, pastries, yogurt and fruit. Honestly not bad. The building condition is really where the 3 stars come from. Pretty old/ worn down and the rooms look significantly worse than the pictures. But it’s an inexpensive hotel in a good location.
- 5/5
Very clean and everyone was so polite and friendly.
- 4/5
Staff is very helpful, location is great in Little Italy. Little terrace in the front to enjoy breakfast. Beds are comfortable.
- 4/5
The hotel is quaint, has all the needed amenities. But most of all the location, its excellent. Staff was accommodating and professional. The only concern was it has no parking. But I managed.
- 2/5
The bad....the rooms are outdated and in need of renovation. The bed squeaked horribly, the A/C didn't work, the bathroom door sticks, etc. Overall, Id pick somewhere else if I returned.
- 1/5
This place was a complete disaster. The location is inconvenient, the service was terrible, and the rooms were not worth the money. Save yourself the headache and book literally anywhere else. There are plenty of better options near the convention center—this should not be one of them. I wish I had read more reviews before making this mistake. Avoid at all costs.
- 4/5
Room was clean. Staff were very friendly
- 5/5
The room was good! It was clean. The locat of the hotel is in the middle of Little Italy and everything is in walking distance
- 4/5
Great location, clean rooms, friendly staff
- 5/5
Difficult to turn on airconditioner
- 3/5
Staff were really courteous but bathrooms needs updating. It’s clean but needs to be updated. But overall I love the area. Right in the middle of Little Italy.

- 4/5
Nice staff. Room was clean. Location right where I wanted to be. Parking was limited street parking or paid parking in structure.
- 5/5
Great
- 5/5
The staff was very friendly, room CLEAN. everything that I wanted to go too in little Italy was walking distance
- 3/5
The room was just okay. The main areas need some upkeep. Elevator was dirty and had a random rag on the ground. The front desk staff were friendly.
- 5/5
Clean room, great shower, easy access to restaurants and shops.
- 5/5
Clean room and pleasant staff. Very cordial and helpful. Definitely coming back.
- 3/5
It is a basic hotel. The room was clean. Staff was not as professional as orher places. The walls are thin and therefore sleep was a challenge when the guests next door were super loud. The bed was hard. I was disappointed that the patio on the hotel site pictures, was closed. As far as the area, it was close to a lot of food places and easy to access in a short walk.
- 4/5
Locations is excellent and the front desk lady was friendly
- 5/5
Nice place& location. Staff are helpful & friendly. I would stay there again if I’m in the area.
- 5/5
Wonderful staff
- 5/5
The gentleman who greeted us at the front desk each morning, checked us in on our arrival and checked us out on the day of our departure, was a complete delight! Very kind, had wonderful recommendations, helpful, and kind for our whole stay. The room was also very clean and neat, which we appreciated. I liked the water dispenser on the first floor, too.
- 2/5
Mold and unpleasant smell around the room.
- 5/5
Close to everything downtown
- 5/5
The first room that we were assigned to smelled like smoke. They switched us to another room immediately. The rooms were small but clean. The service was courteous. There was a few spaces of free parking just down the block. Had a great time overall.
- 5/5
Everything was great ! Room was clean , friendly staff, and breakfast was nice . Location is very convenient to all the shopping and good restaurants in little Italy . Spent 3 days here and didn’t have to Uber anywhere due to being close to everything. Highly recommend this place
- 5/5
Breakfast was yogurt, cheese, fruit, and juices. Some fresh bakery items from nearby. Easy and quick.
- 4/5
Friendly staff, great location, room was tiny and could have been a little nicer though. Overall good experience.
- 4/5
Room was clean, staff welcoming and nice.
- 4/5
Negative was that there was no wifi info at check-in. It took a day to get a response.
- 4/5
Alwsys clean , great staff andvperfect location
- 5/5
The TV did not work in our original room
- 4/5
It was a great experience as the hotel was in a good location. It was near the port and lots of restaurants around it. Staff were friendly and place was nice and clean.
- 4/5
Friendly staff, great location, nice bed! Would stay there again. Rooms are a little small, but good for 1 person.
- 4/5
I wouldn't say that the room wasn't the best nor the most luxurious. It's either give or take. The fact it's in Little Italy and within proximity to a Jack in the Box along with a 7-Eleven for affordable fast food and amenities. The fact that the room was clean, there is good Wi-Fi as required for today's age, and the fact I was able to easily reach the Convention Center via public transit for Twitchcon made my stay in San Diego very nice. At the same time, I was able to have easily check in after a long flight from Toronto, ON, Canada. Overall, I wouldn't say it's the best I had. But it is very memorable. Thank you.
- 4/5
friendly and helpful staff. excellent location in Little Italy.
- 3/5
The room was in fair condition.
- 4/5
Hola la habitación limpia el personal muy amable y servicial, el desayuno muy limitado el precio de la habitación muy bueno gracias
- 5/5
Yes, great stay.
- 5/5
Room was spotless everyone there always greets you with a smile
- 1/5
If your expectations are low then you'll find the Urban Boutique acceptable for a night.
- 1/5
The hotel front desk put me right next to the front desk because he was flirting with my girl and trying to keep an eye on her. I thought it was very unprofessional, and I did not care for the way he would smile and talk to her. she even complained to me about it that he was acting weird. She did not feel comfortable.
- 5/5
The staff was absolutely lovely and very helpful the entire length of our stay. The room was clean, cute & very comfortable. We could not have picked a better spot, staying around the corner from the main plaza in Little Italy was the perfect vibe for a romantic trip, not to mention a short walk to the trolley station which made getting around a breeze. We did not partake in the free breakfast, because we found an espresso bar the first morning that stole our hearts, but it looked decent if you're trying to not buy every meal! I would 10/10 recommend Urban Boutique to anyone staying in Downtown SD.
- 5/5
The staff was fantastic, he had a gigantic line and then an issue with someone having issues internationally. The gentleman remained calm and did an excellent job working through this rush. A great place to stay and staff was even better
- 4/5
Staff was amazing but the property itself could use some updates. overall okay stay
- 5/5
Always clean and i felt safe at all times. Staff was very happy to help me when i locked my key card in my room
- 5/5
Very nice staff and good food nearby. They had issues with the card printer but was very quick and nice about helping me get into my room everytime I needed to.
- 5/5
Staffing was extremely polite and helpful.
- 5/5
Great hotel, love the proximity to Little Italy… great area, would stay here again
- 3/5
We had to make the second bed ourselves. The rooms smelt like chlorine which I assume is the cleaner? The room keys didn’t work so we had to ask someone to let us in to our room every time we came back.
- 5/5
We really enjoyed our stay here. Staff were helpful and kind. The location was absolutely perfect.
- 3/5
All good!!! The best thing is the location!
- 4/5
Decent place to stay within a few steps of Little Italy. Only problem was shower did not drain properly, so had to stand in ankle deep water.
- 5/5
Super friendly staff. Great location.
- 2/5
Just felt like an old hotel that got new flooring and paintings. Room was tiny. Bathroom tiny. Coffee maker broken. Ironing board broken. Bed not that comfortable and had metal around bottom. Just didn’t feel good. Climate control was separate unit and was either too cold or stuffy. Downstairs areas was super tight and strangely laid out. Details like soap in room, type of bottled water, etc were just low quality.
- 4/5
One street over is all the wonderful little Italy dining options. Simple stand-up breakfast provided - coffee, croissants, yogurt, oranges, cheese, juice. We will stay here again😊
- 5/5
We ended in room closest to lobby but they let us check in early so we didn’t have to lug bags around. It was very quiet room. Breakfast was minimal (croissants, yogurt and apples). Great location to Iittle Italy, short walk to Gaslamp and the train to Snap Dragon. One of the more reasonable priced downtown hotels. Staff were friendly.
- 5/5
Great location, clean rooms, really nice continental breakfast and very nice staff😊
- 5/5
Comfortable room and bed. Very accommodating staff. Convenient location.
- 5/5
Friendly and helpful staff. Great location near restaurants and shops in Little Italy. Easy walk to them. Breakfast was simple but enjoyed by us. Quiet no frills room but just what we needed.
- 5/5
Evething fine
- 3/5
No Breakfast, just pick up a croissant with couple of other items incl coffee and go back to your room. No space, table or chairs !
- 5/5
good
- 5/5
Great location, staff was very friendly, breakfast could've used some variation.
- 5/5
The staff at this location is so friendly and helpful! Loved the location in Little Italy! We were able to walk everywhere we needed to go. Access to excellent restaurants and ice cream is the best. We slept well also, which is helpful. Thank you!
- 3/5
Pillows were uncomfortable and
- 5/5
Great room! Wonderful staff. Quiet. Great to have breakfast included. The location was in walking distance of the Marina, and lots of restaurants. I will definitely stay here again.
- 5/5
Cute hotel in great location within walking distance to all that Little Italy has to offer.
- 5/5
Great
- 5/5
Loved our room and cozy bed! Mazie at the front desk was super awesome! Easy check-in! Parking not great...older builing and room..but we were very pleasef! We will be back! Thank you, Mazie!!!!
- 5/5
Confy bed and good shower.
- 5/5
Staff was very nice
- 5/5
Great Place And Had A Fantastic Stay🙌🤩😭👍💯.
- 5/5
Love staying here!
- 5/5
Very convenient to downtown square, dining, shops, farmer's market, touring pier and maritime museums. Friendly staff and clean room.
- 3/5
Location is awesome but the room’s TV and phone were both broken, staff fixed the TV eventually. When we arrived we got an automated text message that said we could text with any questions, but nobody actually monitors it. It was clean and affordable.
- 3/5
The location is excellent, in the heart of Little Italy. Many choices of restaurants nearby. The bed quality is good, very comfortable. However, there are a couple things I would like to see improvement if staying again. The shower is from the ceiling straight down, but there is no shower cap provided. When arriving late and tired in evening, don’t want to wet the hair but just a quick shower. The breakfast is just on a lobby counter without sitting area, we took the food back to the room but there is only one chair for a room with king size bed, which doesn’t make sense. The breakfast ends at 9:30, but before 9 am, most of the food gone, only a few apples, oranges, and chocolate croissants, plus some dairy products in the frig. Not even regular non-sweet breads.
- 4/5
But I would definitely stay there again.
- 4/5
Location is quite convenient and the staff was extremely helpful. However I thought the room was smaller than expected and the chair in the room was mediocre at best.

Great place just having to pay for parking each day isn’t that great and the included breakfast is coffee and some pastries.

Great hotel and excellent location!

Excellent location in Little Italy
- 4/5
The place is very convenient to mass transportation and little Italy. It was clean and quiet. The room was small but well setup. A disappointment was that Hotels.com listed gym access that did not exist anymore. There was a nice contental breakfast and helpful folk on the desk.

Macy was super helpful!

san diego with ease.
- 5/5
In the middle of Little Italy, very close to the Petco Stadium, perfect location.
- 5/5
Like the stay. Nice staff. Great location. Planning our next trip back
- 4/5
In a convenient location close to lots of dining. The room felt a little small and it was close quarters to everyone else with thin walls. The parking was kind of a bummer, but it was fine since we only stayed one night.
- 4/5
Very close to many restaurants. Room was small but modern.
- 4/5
They were doing renovation on the rooms right around us. It didn't start up too late or too early, but sometimes it was very noisy, we were OK with it as what they've done so far looks really nice! This was our 2nd stay there and would stay again, though a new mattress would be delightful. Not uncomfortable, but could be a lot more so.
- 5/5
Cozy and very close to train station and to public transportation.
- 3/5
Fun if you’re into the party scene
- 5/5
Celebrated our 35th anniversary and had a great time. Hotel was great and room nice and roomy. Great morning coffee bar with wonderful little pastries, definitely an added bonus.
- 5/5
Love the location. Walkable from the trolley, friendly staff. Quiet, safe I’ll be coming back for sure.
- 5/5
Call little hotel right next to Little Italy, and perfect for a walk down to the bay.
- 5/5
I booked this lovely boutique hotel for my dear friend viditing from Florida. What a JOY it was for him. So quiet clean modernized but in a vintage 4 story building with old world architecture smack dab in the middle of Little Italy next to thecgiant Plaza and fountain.
- 3/5
Parking was quite a distance away
- 5/5
Cute,quiet,and clean👌👌
- 4/5
Enjoyable stay for business purposes. Terrific location with close proximity to Little Italy and restaurants surrounding the piazza. Staff very supportive and friendly. Overall, the facility and rooms quite dated. Clean and functional but very basic.
- 4/5
Staff is nice; property is in good condition; location is outstanding. Rooms are expensive, but rates are comparable to, or a little better than, other hotels in the area. Rooms are a little on the small side.
- 5/5
Hotel was clean, staff was amazing and friendly! My mother and I adored Macy; my mom said she made the stay amazing! 5 minute walk from the Harbor, little shop for your needs up the corner, right next to a Farmers Market that appears on Wednesday & Saturdays. Perfect location! Wish there was a few more spots for hotel parking but it’s as expected for SD. Would definitely recommend and stay again
- 3/5
a catholic church was right across the street which meant a lot for my wife and I. It was in a nice location close to everything. The fact that parking was about 4 blocks away was a big disappointment, the rooms are very small not enough room to just sit and relax for 2 people. the refrigerator froze all our drinks, no dressers to put our clothes in.Thankfully the young lady Macy in the front desk made us feel very welcomed
- 5/5
Great staff, very accommodating. No problem with room amenities.
- 5/5
Nice hotel, good location, friendly and helpful staff
- 3/5
Staff was friendly, location was perfect. However our bed was wet from a leaky sprinkler in the ceiling.
- 5/5
i have stayed at the urban boutique multiple times and have always been met with kindness from all staff. The rooms are always clean and the environment makes me feel safe. its also around so many places it makes your time here enjoyable 😊

Definitely not a 3-star hotel.
- 4/5
A clean, inviting hotel with a terrific location for all types of visitors to San Diego. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The Little Italy area is vibrant and offers many food options.
- 4/5
Clean and quiet. Friendly and hospitable staff.
- 3/5
The room was clean, but unfortunately I got a lot of noise from elevator ans stars, I didn't sleep ver well.
- 2/5
I was there for only one night and had to check out early for a flight. After leaving the shower running for over 10 minutes there wasn’t even warm water. The fellow at the front desk said he would compensate me for the problem but I have not seen any notification of a credit. The location is very convenient—right at the steps of Little Italy. It is very basic.
- 5/5
Liked the location. It’s in the center of Little Italy, very convenient. The room has a nice view and comfortable bed. Just one thing I concerned about was the “bathroom ventilation”, it wasn’t working well… I will definitely come back here:)
- 5/5
Public transport for Trolley was just two blocks away.
- 5/5
The staff goes beyond and they are so very friendly! They answer all and every question you have.
- 3/5
it was eh. too expensive for what it was and parking isn't actually included. it costs an extra $25 and is a couple blocks away.
- 3/5
We had to ask 4 times for the room to be made up and clean towels. Not impressed!
- 5/5
Front desk associate Macy super friendly and helpful. She's a 5 star human.
- 5/5
The people was very helpful and kind, the place was clean and the location is great! Thanks 😊

Always love staying at the urban. Location is excellent overall staff is excellent late. Check-in has something to be desired. Morning and daytime staff is exceptional.
- 5/5
Location location location… It is in the center of Little Italy surround by heart of SD. The hotel is small but filled with friendly staff. Hotel itself is cute and the beds are so comfortable.
- 5/5
The staffs are super friendly and the location is perfect in the downtown areas and easy to walk around.
- 5/5
Great location…not the nicest place, but adequate, and location was amazing…right next to the heart of Little Italy.
- 5/5
Access to restaurants , fun , historic places at your fingertips
- 1/5
It was literally a motel 6. There was linen carts all around the hallway and doing laundry. The room was a closet with a wall right out the window. I got so claustrophobic I had to leave immediately.
- 4/5
The room was fine for the price i paid. I dont think anyone with hair will appreciate the water pressure from the showers though lol.
- 4/5
Cool Boutique vibe. Great area for dining options. Easy walk to waterfront.
- 5/5
Perfect for our honeymoon!!!
- 4/5
Location is great and easy to access. Unsure if bed frame was broken but was loud to sit on, lay and move.
- 4/5
Room was very small, no desk or table to eat. I will say you won’t have trouble finding something to eat, it’s right there in Little Italy.
- 3/5
This hotel is a solid choice for a quick, budget-friendly stay, just don’t come in with high expectations. My first room had a slight sewage smell, but the staff was helpful and moved me to a new one, which was clean but still left me a bit skeptical. That said, for the price and convenient location, it served its purpose as a one-night stopover. If you’re just passing through, it gets the job done.
- 5/5
This Hotel was perfect for what we needed. A nice overnight stay.
- 4/5
Reception staffs are wonderful!
- 4/5
The hotel is well located. The room was in good condition.
- 3/5
It is convinient. The room i had was not very nice. It was tiny with no view. It also smelled funny. There was also no breakfast available, not even coffee or tea. Otherwise, if it is just for a quick stay, i'd recommend it. It is located in a nice neighorhood with lots of restaurants and close to the airport.
- 5/5
The staff was wonderful.
- 4/5
Room is really small but other than that it was nice. No real lobby
- 5/5
The best value in an amazing location. Would stay again
- 5/5
Wondering boutique hotel with modern decor. Comfortable room. Exceptional desk staff. Will definitely return.
- 5/5
The check in process was excellent
- 4/5
The television didn’t work. Sounded like a dancing elephant was in the room above me. No table or desk, tiny room in an old building.

I really liked the location, we were there for 3 nights and the only time we didn't walk was on a trolley tour. The hotel is older and it shows but the staff was great.
