Reviews
The hotel has a convenient location, but the surrounding area is often described as unsafe due to a large number of homeless people. The staff is generally praised for being helpful and friendly. However, cleanliness and maintenance issues are frequently mentioned, along with problems related to parking and overcharging.

Great room, close to dining, super clean

As soon as you walk into the hotel you are greeted by a friendly atmosphere. The front door & floors are accessed with your room keep so I felt very safe. The room I stayed in was spacious, clean, and had everything I needed.

Will search for different hotel next time.

It was very expensive 3 times the normal price per night
- 4/5
It’s a nice hotel, located in a slightly less nice area. Hot and tasty breakfast is included in the price. It’s very close to a few convenient stores, bars, restaurants, and 2-3 metro stations. It’s not their fault but there are a lot of homeless people in this part of the city.

Very good
- 4/5
The room served my purposes, which was to be an affordable stay close to the conference center. I didn’t feel the safest walking out early in the morning or later in the evening, though. The continental breakfast was good for saving money, but nothing special. Overall, the stay was adequate but nothing to write home about.
- 5/5
Blood on bathroom mirror when checking in. Hotel not what was represented on web site. No parking , unless you use valet..way expensive.. No luggage carts.
- 4/5
Excellent hotel, totally recommended. Very good service, comfortable and clean rooms. The location is perfect and the staff is very friendly. I would definitely stay here again.
- 5/5
Front desk staff were friendly and corner hotel room offered beautiful views.
- 5/5
Staff was very helpful and kind!!
- 2/5
Staff could be more accommodating! The rate also should be mentioned for your pet and the parking! It is quite expensive after staying for 2 days, it cost more than $400 a night for a place where there’s homeless people sleeping outside the door. It is very disappointing.

When we arrived at the hotel we were told that they no longer had our room available and offered us two different rooms, first on different floors. It was for myself, my husband and our 2 young children. They then told us they had two rooms on the same floor however one was only temporary and we would need to come in the morning to change it. When we went to the front desk in the morning they informed us they had a room with two beds however it wasn’t ready and we needed to get everything out of one room and put it in the other. In the midst of trying to pack everything up to move our youngest left her blanket in one of the beds, this was her baby blanket. When we asked if they found it they kept giving us the run around, one employee said they had no lost and found and the other would say come back in the morning. We never got the blanket back. Overall it was a nice clean hotel however, the staff was not helpful and hard to communicate with and made the stay very difficult.
- 5/5
The staff was very courteous and helpful. The breakfast was really good as well as the food selection. It would have helped to know we needed to pay for parking, as we didnt have that factored into our budget when we booked the room. Otherwise the stay was fabulous. Aside from the parking I would recommend this hotel to anyone.
- 3.5/5
Valet was very good. A bit pricey, but good value for the area. The surrounding neighborhood is not good.

The front desk guy and girl was amazing...the vest thing about the hotel. Other than that the rooms were too small, refrigerator had no freezer area no microwave and the hotel location was not desirable. I would never stay here again unless I had no choice. Especially since the price was extremely high.
- 1/5
The worst was how the manager treated us. We repeatedly received contradictory info from the front desk and weren’t able to get a straightforward cost breakdown. came to the desk asking for clarification on charges that didn’t match check-in, and he was hostile. He spoke over us, belittled us, kept deflecting us to Expedia instead of actually answering, and when we pointed out his behavior he escalated, told us to ‘go back to school,’ and implied we were stupid. It genuinely made us feel awful, and we hope no one else experiences the way we were spoken to. Do not book here!!

Horrible
- 4/5
Breakfast is simple and nothing much to shout about. Would be good if more hot items were available. What is really nice is the lounge area with all day drinks and a microwave to heat up food. This was really useful and made the stay more bearable. This hotel is located at the fringe of the tenderloin. So turn a corner and you're in zombieland. We tried walking to the pier and turned a wrong corner so had an interesting time dodging them.

- 4/5
Everything is clean and in a good state. The problem is that the breakfast is kind of the same thing every day, with two little options. The ice machines are only on every two or three floors and most of them are not working. It's just crushed ice so the rest is really good. The personal is nice but those things could improve

- 5/5
In a funky area but never felt unsafe in the hotel. Staff were helpful, everything was clean for a one night staff. Bonus for having breakfast and a clean gym!
- 2/5
Terrible area of town, cannot walk around without being harassed. There was food in the refrigerator from the prior guest dated 5 days before my arrival. I travelled alone but the room was able to be shared with the room next door. Though it was locked I could hear everything in the other room. If the stay could have been refunded I would’ve cancelled upon my arrival. Breakfast was not edible
- 4/5
Breakfast was okay - not bad for being included. Staff were generally attentive enough with keeping the breakfast stocked and clean. It was a reasonable price and for that reason I'd recommend.
- 1/5
Pathetic surrounding
- 3/5
The room was right above the front door people were smoking and the AC/ Heater brought the smell into the room the front desk said that is the only room we had so we checked out the next day and went to an other hotel.
- 5/5
The hotel is in a bad area, lots of drug use and homelessness but they leave you alone. Hotel is safe. You are safe. There is always staff there and you need a key to access the hotel and all room floors, breakfast etc. Ubers drop you off immediatly in front of the hotel.

I like this hotel. The room was very clean, the room amenities were modern, the staff was helpful & coureous, they offer breakfast. It’s not the best area but the hotel itself was great. No complaints. I’m glad I stayed here. I would stay here again.

The breakfast was delicious, everything was fresh and abundant. Kitchen staff was friendly and ready to help with whatever you needed. Our room was clean and our view was amazing even the balcony was nice. The prices was great! Staff at front desk was front desk from the moment we arrived to when we left were so friendly and helpful. The location was close to Union station and the trolley that took us all over San Francisco which was amazing 👏 we had an awesome 21st anniversary.
- 3/5
The room was very (!) small. Not even a table or a chair did fit in. The AC was a floor model and somewhat loud. But for the price, it did serve the purpose. Just sleeping over night with a nice shower.
- 2/5
I come back to SF every 6-8 weeks. This one I won't be returning too.
- 5/5
Staff was nice and room was clean. Parking was a bit expensive but what else could you do but pay for valet parking in San Francisco.
- 4/5
Room was okay, nothing special
- 4/5
Breakfast was good, lukewarm for some items. Attempts in reaching the front desk were unsuccessful, no matter how many attempts were made. Going down from the 6th floor was the only option to observe front desk staff sitting there! Beware of the outside entrance, quite of few homeless ppl. Read the fine print when getting a room, under detail on room is misleading! All rooms indicate a mini fridge, especially if you're staying for days that’s a must! Was informed standard rooms don't come with a mini fridge when room detail indicate one. I've stayed in many Hamptons, this is far the worst!
- 4/5
I would have liked to be placed a room with a view.. breakfast was great..
- 4/5
The ac was very loud other than that everything was good
- 4/5
The breakfast was too simple, coffee bad and it lacked of diversity on the products offered
- 4/5
Nice hotel but area is sketchy. It’s in downtown SF and is surrounded by homeless people. Also beware of $75 per night for parking as they only have valet parking available no parking structure or parking lot.
- 3/5
Stayed 2 nights with family (young children) not an ideal location for families. There were a lot of homeless people compared to other areas. Witnessed drug use while walking a few feet from the property. This Hampton is also not like the usual ones we’ve stayed at, it seems a lot smaller, no natural light and just a bit cramped. Breakfast was the same both days except the waffle batter lol. We did pay for valet parking and our car was kept safe. They did also bring it out in a timely manner whenever we needed it.
- 5/5
Under the banner of Hilton, this hotel shines in hospitality service business: totally renovated, 3-min walking distance to BART (public transportation), very clean with chic decor, super comfortable bed, and free breakfast. The hotel has room service every other day, which is sufficient for us. Also, outside hotel, in the evening hours, a few unsightly homeless men can be a bit unsettling.
- 5/5
Clean room, air conditioning, staff
- 5/5
AC was great, shower was clean and very nice. Almond milk in the breakfast area for those of us who prefer it was wonderful and something not all hotels do!
- 3/5
Bathroom sink had scolding hot water. Moved the handle left right and center with no luck. I didn't bother staff with it because check in time was at 3 and I had to walk to oracle for the game at 415. There is no parking, and there is a 75 deposit fee, neither of which I was aware of before booking and arriving. I found a barbed wire fence with overnight parking for $40 behind the property, and there was a parking garage a few buildings away similarly priced. I won't stay here again
- 5/5
Walking distance to a lot. No on site parking. But they do offer Valet parking for a fee. Kinda pricey but all of San Francisco is pricey. We felt safe. The area has a lot of homeless and the alleys and back maybe don't go down that way, too many homeless. Other than that we enjoyed our 2 night stay. Hotel price was lower than most I found. We would definitely stay here again. It was just my husband and I .
- 4/5
The room was very small and we could hear our neighbors on both sides. The room was very clean. The breakfast was had good options and the coffee was great! I do think 65.00 for valet parking is pricey but we expected that by looking at all the reviews.
- 3/5
Room was extremely small, no mini fridge, only 1 elevator worked and it took FOREVER!
- 3/5
Breakfast was delish. My room was tiny. Idk they made hotel rooms that small. 😆 However, it was clean. My major concern is the hotel's location. Only a block or two from 'seedy' part of town. I would not recommend a single lady that plans on walking to stay here!

Staff was very friendly and everything was kept up to good standards. Continental breakfast was nothing in particular to write home about but it did have a good variety and was a good option in a hurry
- 4/5
The only negative is the area outside the hotel (a lot of homeless and trash), if you can accept that, then I highly recommend.
- 2.5/5
The staff was rude. All of them except one lady which was the kindest. If the staff does not want to be in hospitality then get out of it. Just ruining people's experience by being rude

I was really disappointed with our stay. Parking wasn’t available by the time I needed to park my car so we had to walk to a parking garage in the rain. I asked for a rollaway bed and they also said no. The area has a lot of homeless and did not feel safe. The breakfast was good but such a crowded space and the guests who stay are super rude and made a comment about me bringing my baby in there like babies are not allowed to eat. It was such a bad experience.
- 5/5
The staff was very nice and professional. To have a warm breakfast was also a convenient option to have. The location was great.
- 5/5
Extremely clean. Willing to keep our bags until check-in time while we went sightseeing.

Room was spotless, front desk was always there, delicious breakfast, good security, and i was able to leave my luggage for the day after i checked out because my flight was later that night.

The breakfast was pretty standard but we were pleased that there were choices of oatmeal and wholemeal bread for breakfast. The breakfast room was very nice and clean The elevators were efficient and clean. The staff at the counter were nice. It was really nice that we could pickup a cup of hot coffee or tea at the lounge are on our returned to the hotel. I was glad that we could accessed to a microwave oven at the lounge area. And we can actually have Bloomberg and CNBC channels on the TV :)

First, the area surrounding the hotel felt extremely unsafe. There were numerous homeless individuals outside the entrance, and as college students arriving for check-in, we did not feel comfortable or secure staying there. Second—the parking situation was completely misrepresented. When we arrived to check in, we were told there is NO designated guest parking. Our only options were: • Park 1 mile away and walk back through a sketchy neighborhood • Pay $65 per night for valet This information was NOT clearly disclosed on the website or Expedia. If we had known valet was essentially the only option, we never would have booked this hotel. To make matters worse, we drive a Tesla, and the only key we had was the app on our phone. Since we didn’t know valet would be required, we did not bring a physical key card. The front desk told us that even if we wanted to pay the $65 valet fee, they couldn’t accept the car, and then said “there’s nothing we can do.” The front desk staff I called was extremely rude, dismissive, and even talking over me while brushing off our concerns by bragging about their “8.5 rating” instead of offering any help or empathy. This was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had. I do not recommend this location, especially if you are unfamiliar with the area, traveling at night, or expect honest information.

The only reason for 4/5 instead of 5/5 are the unhoused individuals that hang around the hotel which makes it feel a bit unsafe (not the hotel’s fault)
- 4/5
City View was good, breakfast was also good!!!

inside was nice. outside was rough area
- 2/5
The whole reason i booked this hotel was for the room with 2 queen beds with a city view. I only found out that the room i booked was put under maintenance "right before we got there" so all that was available was 1 bed with a pull out couch.

Location: Highly accessible to nearly all major San Francisco tourist destinations, easily reached by walking, public transit, or affordable rideshares. CAUTION: The surrounding area has a noticeable presence of homeless individuals. It is not advisable to walk around alone after dark. While most are harmless and deserve respect, visitors should remain cautious of unpredictable behavior. This proximity to the situation is the only reason the rating isn't five stars. Cleanliness & Security: The building is secure, featuring an automated door to protect guests. The lobby is impeccably clean, smells luxurious, and boasts superb decor. The lobby is also secluded from street view, ensuring guest safety upon entry. Complimentary coffee and tea are available for guests. Parking: Valet parking only, but the service appears professional and secure. Service: The staff are consistently welcoming, polite, and exceptionally helpful. Rooms: Very clean and well-equipped. Amenities include a refrigerator, fresh linens, and plenty of clean towels (four large pillows per bed). The rooms feature large, individually adjustable A/C units. Bathroom provisions include soap, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and a hairdryer (note: toothbrush/paste are not provided). The smart TV allows guests to sign in to personal streaming accounts (Netflix, etc.) in addition to local channels. Breakfast (A Highlight!): The dining hall is clean

The king bed city view room was fantastic, and I will likely stay in one of these rooms again. The view was gorgeous. The hotel inside was quiet, nobody else was ever on the rooftop patio when I hung out up there, and the staff were great.
- 5/5
Everything about this place was nice the only problem was the area was horrible a lot of homeless people a lot of drug users it was scary to go out of the motel
- 5/5
Great service, such a clean nice safe hotel.
- 4/5
The staff were friendly and accommodating. The room was also clean and neat, however, there were few details that were hard to ignore, like the broken door stopper to the bathroom, the broken sliding door of the shower, and the broken toilet paper holder. However, other than that we had a great experience staying here.
- 2/5
The place is nice it’s the location that doesn’t seem too good to stay. I’m very disappointed that while using their valet service the rental car was returned back with scuff marks and light broken. They were nice to offer to pay however for someone who travels much this has been my first time ever experiencing this. I find it very odd that the location that they use to park the vehicles doesn’t have cameras? Let’s see how this claim goes with the rental just hope it’s a smooth process.
- 5/5
Early check in was a bonus. Room had everything I needed for the weekend. Would stay again.
- 5/5
The breakfast was so good and the room I had was amazing! Excellent service in the front desk they are very helpful!!
- 3/5
Stay on the lowest floor possible, the elevator is very slow and guests are sharing the elevators with busy staff and repair people
- 5/5
Everything is in excellent condition. Clean and tidy.
- 2/5
Rooms are great, but if arriving late at night it takes the staff a while to let you in the building. It took 10 min for someone to let in to check in. Also there’s a lot of homeless, and drug addicts around the building.
- 5/5
Clean room, nice shower, comfy pillows and dark shades. Breakfast spread is nice. Location is good,
- 5/5
The Staff waited for me until 1AM late check in, diento late Airport. They were very charming, polite. The breakfast was nice, clean, healthy options. Our room was quiet, very clean, air conditioning was great, hot shower, pillows clean. I have a great experience together with my family. The location is excellent as we were steps away from Powell Station, the most important in downtown San Francisco.
- 5/5
The hotel and rooms are clean and up to date. The staff is friendly and helpful. Breakfast is a nice touch and it was nice to have coffee ready to go right when you wake up. The neighborhood is getting better with the Yurba Buena partnership actively cleaning the streets and keeping the un-housed moving. At no times did I feel unsafe walking around the area. People who are not familiar with the plight of San Francisco may feel different but the area is exponentially better than even a year ago. Would stay again.
- 5/5
Always clean, friendly, and affordable. Definitely going to come back again.
- 5/5
I like the breakfast included in the stay, rooms were clean and staff are nice. Location is a little sketchy at night
- 3/5
It's close to the convention center but that's about it. It costs more to park a car than it does to rent one. The neighborhood is crazy sketchy, but I didn't feel completely unsafe. The food in the area is meh, at best. And the cost is astronomical! $1,000 a night! Nope! I'll stay a little further out next time.

- 4/5
Stayed one night. It was convenient. Room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was a plus. Our Lyft/ Uber driver said to not walk around 6th street at night. The entrance is locked and the only way in is your room key. Valet was convenient and fast. It was affordable.
- 1/5
Bad neighborhood and terrible management. My Jacket was stolen from the lobby where I was waiting to check in. The lobby was empty and supposed to be secured from the outside with keycard access. I suspect an inside job. This conclusion is based on my instincts and judgement of how i was treated. And also the fact that Management didn’t speak with me on the matter and to my knowledge didn’t check the video tape either. The room had stained floors which was gross and the breakfast wasn’t good either. I’m being candid yet respectfully leaving this review.

- 5/5
Wonderful staff here. They really shine through their helpfulness and friendliness. This area in SOMA is scary because of the homelessness, but it's also close to a lot of attractions. Wait inside for your ride though. Delicious breakfast included with price.

Horrible area, no where to park. Charged us 148.00 to valet park our car or offered for us to self park away from hotel

The room was fairly clean, although the bedsheets had some stains. The rooms are pretty dated in this hotel. Definitely could use some updating. The free breakfast was good, however.
- 3/5
My room was not throughly clean upon arrival. I had to request housekeeping come to my room. We were two guest and only two towels were available in my room. We had to request more.
- 1/5
Homeless persons broke into the gated lot the hotel used to have cars parked (for $74 per night) and damaged five cars. We had a car parked in the lot and were scheduled to stay another day. The hotel valet said there was nothing they could do to prevent cars from being damaged. I told the hotel I could not stay under those conditions as a car was essential to the res of my vacation, was given a refund for the second day, and had to leave San Francisco a half day earlier than planned and missed several activities we had hoped to do. This was my fourth Hampton Inn I had stayed it in a week across the country and by far the worst experience I had ever had at a Hampton Inn.
- 5/5
Hotel was great, just be cautious outside. Not a safe area to be at.
- 5/5
Clean room and properly. Staff helpful. Only complaint I have was small shower and tight. I’m 6’1 245. But overall all I’ll definitely stay again. :)
- 5/5
Clean room, courteous staff, great breakfast, and decent location. There should be some accommodation for parking, which increases the cost substantially.

- 1/5
Stayed 2 nights. They were changing TVs in all the rooms with guests in them. Was out all day and when I returned my Samsung pad was gone from my backpack. The safe wasn't working so I took all other valuables with me. The front desk response was that they have housekeeping manager watch the contractors, so it's impossible for my pad to be stolen.

Stays are always good. This places is our go to.
- 4/5
The area around not being unsafe is just very rough, smelly and not welcoming. Bus near or or dropped off by a ride-sharing app is the best way to get in or out.
- 4/5
Easy check-in, clean lobby and sidewalk. Room was nothing fancy, but clean and quiet.
- 1/5
I do want to note that the staff that works the breakfast station, as well as some front desk staff, were incredibly kind and helpful to him. But other front desk staff and the manger were just awful to my colleague, who was unfailingly polite and patient with them. You will see other reviews complaining about vagrancy outside the hotel. I will tell you that the *only* thing that made me feel unsafe staying here was the way someone was able to enter the room uninvited w/ management's utter indifference.
- 4/5
Nice hotel, just avoid the homeless people.

The hotel is fine it's just in a rather nasty area of town, I was ok but my family felt very intimidated by the locals
- 3/5
We will not stay here again. When we arrived we were told there was a $75 a night hotel charge that we would get back however we found out that parking at the hotel which I thought I saw on the website as $57 was I believe now $67 dollars a night. Which did not include tax. Sad to say if you do the math is almost $75. I asked about near by parking the lady said she didn’t know. We asked the gentleman standing next to her and he stated right up the street a little on the right side. When I asked where are car was they said in a lot behind the hotel and when you call it would take 15-20 minutes to retrieve. We opted to pay the fee however didn’t realize we would have to asks for trash to be picked up and to have towels on the second day as they do not clean your room but every other day. Very disappointing.

Convenient location, easy access to transportation and parking. However there are many homeless and drug addicts but this is everywhere in downtown San Francisco. It is still safe to walk around though.
- 5/5
Great property, awesome location, great staff
- 4/5
Hotel looks new and decent. Rooms are very small but clean. Lots of homeless people around the area, so not too safe to walk at night.
- 5/5
The place was great. Very clean and the people who worked there were very nice. Once outside on street. It was bums and drugs. Kinda scary.. NO PARKING. THEY CHARGE 75.00 to park your car. Other parking was 40.00 down the street..
- 5/5
Needs a lot of renovation
- 3/5
Both the reception and service staff are excellent, friendly and very help. However, I was there three nights and my room was not cleaned and serviced, nor was the rubbish taken away 'For my comfort' as the notice said. Really? As a solo female traveller, this is not an area I wanted to walk to at night, I felt unsafe.
- 5/5
The room was beautiful an for the price I thought was great
- 3/5
Breakfast area was crowded in morning and limited healthy options (mostly sugary carbs ie waffles, muffins, flavored yogurt).
- 4/5
Staff friendly
- 3/5
Very limited options for vegans Breakfast.
- 5/5
Beautiful property but because it’s downtown there’s a lot of homelessness outside the building. I would definitely stay again but be better prepared for the area. I did walk in the neighborhood during the day traveling westbound and it was nice and clean
- 5/5
Comfortable rooms, easy access to all kinds of activities, close to the airport and cruise port!
- 4/5
Friendly staff. The street is a bit sketchy.
- 5/5
The hotel was very nice, I made use of the gym and laundry room, they also serve hot breakfast!
- 5/5
Great hotel, unfortunately not safe outside hotel
- 5/5
Felt unsafe at night with the homeless outside
- 4/5
Overall the room was clean and the little view we had of the city was nice. I booked this location because I wanted to be some what close to market street and if needed we could grab a Lyft easily. Like all major cities it is going to have a rather large homeless population but they were never right up front near the hotel. To be honest they never bother my partner and I when we walked to and from the hotel. We found a couple cute little places to eat at and my partner fell head over heels for Mr. Charlie’s. I do enjoy the breakfast options as it can help lower your out of pocket expenses. The rooftop was nice and gave you a good view of the city. It was a little cloudy and breezy but the weather was still super nice compared to our normal home temps of 100 plus in the summer. The front desk staff was friendly but when we asked if there was a place to ship out packeges the gentleman sent us to a UPS assist store that only handles prepackage amazon returns so when had to lfyt from there to an actual UPS store. Overall it was a nice first visit to the city and I look forward to coming back to see more of what the city has to offer.
- 4/5
Valet parking very expensive $75 usd each night
- 3/5
Hotel was good, be careful going out at night drugs are a big issue in the area and you will see lots of sketchy people
- 5/5
It was a wonderful stay close to everything.
- 5/5
The kitchen staff and the cleaning crew are super nice.
- 5/5
Great comfortable stay. Lived the blackout blinds and comfortable room. The breakfast was a nice bonus.
- 5/5
The rooftop view is incredible. Be ready for the neighborhood.
- 5/5
Beds were comfortable!
- 5/5
Everything good
- 3/5
Lots of homeless people outside. Not a good location
- 1/5
The staff? Meh. Not rude, but not helpful either. And if you want your car back from valet, prepare to wait 20+ minutes after texting the number. The room itself was fine—clean, basic, nothing special. But honestly, nothing about this hotel makes up for the sketchy surroundings and overpriced valet. Stay if you must, but don’t say I didn’t warn you—you might feel like you’re in a superhero movie… just not the fun kind.
- 5/5
Great stay hope to stay again
- 5/5
This place looks great from what we could see. It was getting dark so hard to notice things.
- 5/5
Secure and clean hotel with courteous staff. Excellent breakfast each morning. Only downside was some elevator repair work during our stay. But at least they were maintaining the property.
- 5/5
Friendly staff
- 5/5
Stayed here recently and had a great experience overall. The location is excellent—close to Union Square, Moscone Center, and public transit. Rooms are compact but clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. Staff were friendly and helpful throughout my stay. The complimentary breakfast had a good variety, though the breakfast area and elevators can get crowded during peak hours. Some street noise at night, but nothing too disruptive. Would definitely stay again for the convenience and value.
- 5/5
Very clean, quiet and good breakfast. Close to everything.. shopping, transportation food etc. Bed was a little firm for my taste but overall a nice hotel. I would stay there again.
- 4/5
The location is great. Room was nice and clean. Staff was very friendly.
- 5/5
Great place to stay in downtown San Francisco at a midrange price.
- 4/5
It was very good, just didnt have as much space since it is the city
- 3/5
Older hotel, small rooms with no amenities. Staff was very nice.
- 1/5
We had previously called and sent a message to the hotel (and expedia) about valet parking with a long vehicle and agreed to pay for two spots. However when we arrived there was no hotel owned garage like stated, no attended parking. Just a valet sign propped up on a pole and cars on the side street and in front of the sliding doors where a random dumpster was and where the police were telling some homeless to move. Nor late night options for parking ( closest was $35 and closed 30 minutes previously but also 10 minutes walk). We did not even stay 30 minutes before checking out from what was supposed to be a 2day stay. Staff was not helpful nor understanding, even seemed unsympathetic or caring by the situation. Extremely disappointed, and will never recommend this location to anyone. Nor does this experience ever make me want to return to San Francisco.
- 4/5
This hotel fit my needs perfectly. There’s a Target store a few blocks away as well as an IKEA store. The area has numerous restaurants and transportation options. The hotel was clean and offered a daily breakfast.
- 4/5
Great breakfast, clean, comfortable room, neighborhood was a little sketchy with large numbers of homeless hanging around outside
- 4/5
Clean, quiet, centrally located and nice breakfast. Quality stay for the price.
- 5/5
Great location, just a short walk from the Union square. Good breakfast with hot options changing on a daily basis. Coffee and tea available to take out any time of the day. Lovely smellies in the bathroom.
- 5/5
The hotel and staff are wonderful. The room was clean, and they let me check my luggage for several hours before check-in & after check-out. I was abpe to gp enjoy the city, eat food, go to the zoo, and kill time between checks & airport times. The only negative is that it is in the center of the infamous Tenderloin. Coming back late at night was scary because there would be people fent-leaning or high & ranting/screaming right outside the front entrance. This is not the fault of the hotel though, just something to be aware of. Love the roof top for smoking.
- 4/5
hotel was good but the area was very dirty and felt unsafe.,
- 5/5
It was an awesome service!
- 5/5
Got the best view of downtown
- 5/5
central location and accessible to public transportation. good breakfast and coffee
- 5/5
Very good
- 5/5
Room was great.
- 5/5
Front desk is very approachable and housekeepers on top of everything .
- 3/5
$75 a night for parking is a bit extreme. I maybe be called Hampton but it’s not no where near the quality of a Hampton I’ve stayed in before. It’s a ruin down version for sure. The pictures on their page is not what I seen once I got here. But since we are only staying one night it will due but the price of the rooms are way too expensive for what we got.
- 1/5
Elevator was BROKEN for my entire stay (4 nights) and the hotel did NOTHING. Very cavalier staff and no communication. The manager left no one in charge and never checked in. An awful experience.
- 5/5
The breakfast was my favourite and the gym
- 4/5
Ok
- 1/5
The hotel elevators did not work and I was on the 11th floor. Breakfast was impossible because it was way more people than food and the coffee was always empty. Hotel is stuffy. Entrance and exit are dirty and crammed. People checking in at the desk block the only walk way in the hotel Despite the elevators being in and out of work g order, stairwells are locked. It’s not a place to stay. Stay somewhere else
- 3/5
The property was below average to average overall. The room was small and basic—like a college dorm—but the bed was comfy and the shower was great. Cleanliness was average, and the building had a bad odor, especially in the hallways. Food was poor; the juice was so watered down it lacked flavor. The worst part was the $65 valet parking. The area outside felt typical for downtown—somewhat sketchy but not alarming.
- 5/5
Everything was amazing…..except the bed. The linens were comfortable and clean, but the mattress was not that comfortable at all. They need to replace the mattresses in each room. Otherwise they offer more than the Hyatt down the street we stayed at and the staff was 100% better than the Hyatt Place excluding the bartender at the Hyatt. He was the only staff member that showed amazing customer service. The Hampton Inn has a delicious breakfast with hot/cold and fresh food! They also have reasonable prices for valet and when you use the valet you still have 24/7 access to your vehicle. We would stay again.
- 4/5
Hotel was at a great location for the concert we were attending. But, the location was not the best. A lot of homeless all over the place. Parking was ok. We ended self parking at a parking garage half a block away. The room was clean but really small. Breakfast was excellent though.
- 5/5
Breakfast is satisfying , and we like their lobby with waiting space .,
- 4/5
Hotel was nice but the area around it was not.
- 5/5
And for the environment, I’m from the NY area so seeing specs of homeless ppl here and there in union square wasn’t much of a bother, just go your way and have a fun time. -And lastly, for those that want to know, the water pressure in the bathroom is amazing! :)
- 5/5
Even though it’s not in the best area I felt safe and the property was always clean
- 5/5
There was visible dust on the furniture and corners in the room. Cleaning can be improved.
- 5/5
It is new and clean. The staffs are friendly
- 3/5
Not too bad
- 2/5
Our Uber driver made sure we knew not to be outside or walk on the streets at night being that the homeless take over the streets, and I can confirm that it was true.
- 4/5
About 1.25 miles from where the Giants play.
- 4/5
Great area & safe
- 4/5
Super cool place right in the heart of downtown San Fran! Just driving there was a fun and exciting experience - The room was small but very sheik and clean. Amazing roof top view of the city from the top floor balcony everyone gets access to. No self serve parking... Valet only, this added another $65 expense to the stay which was a bummer.
- 5/5
Hot breakfast is a bonus, it is a full meal heavy breakfast. The staff are friendly esp Coby and Krishna. Place is clean and very modern interior design inside. Service is fast.
- 5/5
great hotel in an upcoming area close to public transport
- 4/5
Everything was nice until construction outside my window happened. Jack hammering all night . Also, they do not offer free parking they charge 65 a night
- 4/5
Nice, clean, walkable and has all amenities.
- 5/5
The hotel on its own is perfect! Staff was super nice! The hotel is kept up to date and clean! But the location of it was kind of bad.
- 4/5
Everything is okay except the surroundings because of lots of homeless and drug addicted people are there in the same block. Very scary to walk with family during night time.
