We are a family of five, and the loft room was perfect for us — everyone had enough space and slept comfortably. It made traveling with a larger family so much easier. The hotel felt welcoming, clean, and convenient. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to other families visiting the area!

Terrific place to stay when you don’t always want to eat out. Great amenities, upgraded rooms, quiet and conveniently close to big stores, and easy drive to San Francisco.

Good location, it's between san fracisco and silicon Valley. Spacious rooms with everything you might need for a week long stay with complimentary breakfast. The hairdryer broke in my room, however staff is not helpful on replacing one. They promised to get me another one but never showed up.

The location was perfect and the room was more than we could ask for. This was probably the best room we’ve ever stayed at. Not only was it clean and so much bigger than we expected but the bed was super comfortable and we wish we could have stayed longer.

It was a nice stay. My kids did complain about the pillows and I agree with them - the pillows were lumpy and easily collapsed when laying your head on them. My kids also said the sheets were too thin while we were sleeping at night. The complimentary breakfast was decent, but the dining room area seems somewhat small and cramped on 2nd floor (especially when there are a lot of hotel guests coming to breakfast after 8 am on weekends). Overall, it’s a nice stay with a few improvements recommended.

Residence Inn was perfect for our Mother's Day weekend stay. I rented two rooms and both were quiet and a good size with all amenities we needed. Room, kitchen and bathroom were all clean and well-appointed The option of the complimentary breakfast was appreciate and the 24 hour coffee was too! We will be back.

I had a two day stay booked, I called to alert the front desk that I would not arrive until the next day. When I arrived at approximately noon, the Front Desk told me they had canceled my reservation because I had told someone I was arriving at 4 AM that morning. they find me a room, but it was not what I had requested. I wanted a room on the second floor for safety and they booked me on the first floor in an area that was not desirable. I did call the Front Desk for a couple blankets and they were very accommodating.

I've stayed at and reviewed (very favorably) this place before so I am just adding some afterthoughts on why I really like staying there apart from the excellent staff and well tended property. The layout is such that you only have 3 other neighbors in a building so there's hardly any "noise" from them or cleaning staff. There's plenty of parking just steps away from your room---very handy when there's a lot of luggage to transport. And it feels like an actual, if temporary, community.

We really enjoyed our stay. It was in a beautiful area and really close to a Target and other stores and restaurants. The room was awesome it was like staying in an actual apartment my daughter had her own room in the loft area with her own private bathroom. Bed and pillows were comfortable, I usually have problems sleeping in hotels but I really felt like home and slept well. The daily breakfast hit the spot, they offered a different selection daily. Pool looked nice we didn’t get a chance to use it unfortunately we were too busy to enjoy it. Would definitely stay here again if we visit in the future.

The property is a little older but well maintained. The staff at this location was awesome! Very friendly, efficient and attentive. I was traveling for a conference in San Francisco. This hotel was far more affordable than downtown and the commute was very manageable. I would stay here again when travel to the area.

The room was fine although the shower still had hair on one of the shelves. My biggest advice for this property is to never stay in a downstairs room. The ceiling ‘booms’ when someone walks across the room above. When that person consistently gets up at 2:30am and spend the next 30 minutes walking back and forth every night, it can be a bit much. I would stay here again, but make sure I am in an upstairs room.

Unfortunately, the front desk experience was pretty underwhelming. The clerk checking us in had almost no personality and the interaction felt very transactional. I was thanked for being a Silver Marriott member, but that was about the extent of the conversation. There was no information offered about the property, amenities, or even breakfast — which is something most hotels usually mention at check-in. The next morning we noticed there was breakfast available at the hotel, but by the time we realized it, it was already too late. That was a bit of a bummer since we had already gone out for breakfast and likely would have taken advantage of it if we had known the details ahead of time. Overall the hotel itself was good and the room met expectations, but the check-in experience lacked the hospitality and helpfulness you normally hope for when arriving at a hotel. Also no hot tub. That was a bummer.

The room was very spacious - it had a full kitchen with plates and silverware and a dishwasher and a counter / dining space and tv and couch. It basically felt like a small stocked apartment. It was clean and I did not expect it to be so large. On the down side, you had to pay for parking and the offered breakfast was pretty lame. The setup for the tables was weird and you would have to weave around people at basically any point you were standing and the selection was unappealing. It was a good price for the size but I would skip the breakfast.

We stayed for volleyball like we did last year. They accommodated us am wave people and started serving breakfast at 6:30 last year. They didn’t do that this year for the 3 day weekend. We were super bummed. We really depended on that. Other than that everything was good.

We stayed at this hotel for two nights. The check in process went smoothly, had a nice quiet room, and breakfast was a typical hotel breakfast. Our issue occurred when our flight was changed to an hour and a half earlier. We grabbed our daughter from bed and hustled out the door. We quickly stopped by the front desk to see if we could grab a milk for our one year old daughter so she had something for breakfast. The young girl working the desk was very unprofessional and rude. She said “well sorry breakfast is closed.” We stated we didn’t need breakfast just if she could go upstairs and grab us a milk for our daughter, we even offered to pay for it, and once again she said “nope sorry upstairs is closed right now.” I asked if she knew someone who had a key and she said “nope we do not have a key for upstairs and breakfast is closed right now.” All she had to do was apologize and say unfortunately they couldn’t do that for us, but it’s how horrible she treated us and did not show hospitality at all. Outside of that experience we had a good time, but that interaction really left a sour taste in our mouth.

One thing to mention, although my stay was quoted at a certain price through Expedia , my final total was $50 more. So just keep that in mind. Overall though still worth the stay! Will definitely come back!

We enjoyed our stay. It was a home away from home. Full kitchen, couch, comfy berms, and nice bathroom. It was nice and quiet. Our only issue was that house keeping knocking more than once twice and one of them almost walked into our room without permission. Check out is at 12 noon. The first house keeper knocked at 9:30 am and the second at 11:00 am. That was very unprofessional. There also was no do not disturb sign. That would be helpful.

Excellent stay. Staff was very accommodating, we did have a leak in our room and had to move but the staff especially James, I believe his name was, made sure we were situated in our new room. Im not usually impressed by hotel stays but this was an impressive experience. Breakfast was great with a variety of food. We used the grill by the pool, fire-pit and gym. There is plenty to do in the area and close to the airport.

It was nice to have an public outdoor firepit but it did get a little loud (which is fine). When I went to check out very early in the morning the hotel person was asleep in the office, but it was not that big of deal.

Honestly, I was quite surprised to find this place only having three stars. We had an excellent experience, and the breakfast was truly unmatched. The price was great, and the value was excellent.

We just were staying for the night because we had an early morning departure from SFO. Perfect location. Not a very long drive to the airport (15 minutes) and location felt safe and secure. I enjoyed my stay at Residence Inn by Marriott San Mateo. Although I booked through Expedia, they waived the parking fee because of my Marriott membership and provided bottled water and snacks at check-in, which was a nice touch—especially after arriving late. The hotel’s layout feels more like a condo community than a typical hotel, giving it a relaxed, vacation-like vibe. There was also a good selection for the free breakfast.

The place was okay but the walls felt very thin I could hear everyone talking or walking by the suit the service was okay was double charged for parking for the price it’s convenient but you get what you paid for.

Was great having a full kitchen, it definitely met all our needs for the week long stay. The beds weren’t comfortable AT ALL and the breakfast was very poor. But we just made our own in the room. Overall you get what you pay for and it’s a great place for the price point.

Great option for families that would like a kitchen. Some feedback with having small kids - sink is too inset so it's hard for them to turn on and reach the water (with a stool I brought from home). Not enough hooks to dry towels or hang things in the bathroom area. Would also have appreciated more light in the living room area and the ability to move the TV back so it wasn't so close to them sitting on the couch. Otherwise, great stay!

Wonderful stay at a perfectly appointed studio apartment at a very affordable price! Close proximity to public transportation options and super close to local shopping and services. Excellent staff, the front desk was very nice and accommodating. Same with the staff at the more than adequate to start your day free breakfast. Loved it so much I’m returning at the end of the month for another stay! It truly is a well appointed spacious apartment situation, where you will feel right at home.

Surprised!!

The breakfast was excellent.

Spacious room, well equipped kitchen

Enough beds for large group

It was close to where I needed to be. The check-in was very smooth and quick and the staff member was very professional. The room, bathroom and kitchen area was clean. The only issued I had was the shower temperature colors for hot and could were on opposite direction.
