Reviews
The hotel receives mixed reviews with guests appreciating its convenient location and friendly staff, but expressing concerns about cleanliness, maintenance, and parking. Some guests have had issues with refunds and extra charges.
- Convenient location close to the beach and boardwalk
- Friendly and accommodating staff
- Cleanliness and maintenance issues
- Parking problems and tight spaces

The owner guy was very nice and accommodating The parking was terrible and the room was not the best
- 5/5
Perfect location. Staff was super helpful. Would definitely stay here again. Very convenient to park and walk everywhere the entire stay.

Location was great Nothing
- 2/5
Although the location was amazing I would not stay here ever again . I booked it because I read a lot of good reviews which makes me wonder how . Our toilet was clogged we had to plunge several times , AC did not work ( the maintenance guy tried and he stated they are old units they don’t work well ) and the TV sucked could not get clear picture so we didn’t watch TV and fridge was on but was not cold didn’t even chill our drinks . As we were leaving a lady was walking to office pissed because her plumbing was also messed up . The lady at the front counter said make sure you leave us a review , well here is my review . Sad because it is a great location literally one block from boardwalk.
- 1/5
Very close to the boardwalk The A/C was blowing out freezing air all night! Paint job not well done, our door didnt completely close. The parking was sketchy and there was NO hot water in the shower! Way too expensive for these very ghetto facilities. The owner said the plumber is "stupid". That was his response to the hot water. His answer for the A/C is that are lucky it works at all, no one else's does.
- 4/5
I like the place because of the location and price.
- 3/5
We have stayed here before, great location and usually have a room available. This time we had loud neighbors- late night and early morning. Otherwise, great if you need a quick overnight stay.
- 2.5/5
Close to pier and boardwalk Hard to park and walk up hill
- 5/5
Close to the boardwalk, clean, quiet, and safe. Automatic light in bathroom needs to be fixed so it can shut off at night.

Older property so you have to understand that. The price is (in my opinion) a little steep for a motel but it's the location i believe that causes the cost to be higher. It is located two streets away from the beach & boardwalk making it so easy/convenient when visiting the boardwalk & beach. Parking is included so you do not have to stress. I did not catch the name of the gentleman working in the office at check-in & check-out but he was so kind and very inviting. Definitely will stay at this motel again next time we visit.

There are no charging outlets for cell phones but when I asked about it they gave me a plug in receptacle for the duration of my stay. Metal framed beds were uncomfortable, every turn had a metal sound to it and the bedding was so thin it was not cozy at all. No lamps on the bedside tables or walls so the whole room ceiling light was required. One chair provided, no table and chairs so you had to eat sitting on the bed. Very spartan furnishings but the room rate was affordable.no closet or any way to hang up your clothes, that was not good.

Todo bien la atencion fue muy buena

Low price close to entertainment center Noise level is high, people screaming and yelling at night. If that’s ok then it’s the right place for you.
- 3.5/5
Because of the proximity to the Boardwalk parking lot, it took almost an hour to drive there from Santa Cruz downtown in the middle of a Sunday afternoon. Just something to keep in mind!

Nice location, friendly staff, well kept room Because of the proximity to the Boardwalk parking lot, it took almost an hour to drive there from Santa Cruz downtown in the middle of a Sunday afternoon. Just something to keep in mind!

Front desk was helpful with parking direction. Love how close to the beach and boardwalk it is!!! Lots of shopping restaurants and things to do. Will definitely be going back.
- 5/5
Great choice for a full day at the Boardwalk. Close proximity (1 block) to the beach and boardwalk, allowed for quick access to room when needed. Stay comes with parking. Sam at the front desk was super nice, funny, helpful and accommodating! I highly recommend.

1 block to the beach and restaurants, a few minutes walk to downtown. Room was clean and bed was comfortable. The room is smaller than more expensive hotels but we spent most of our time each day outdoors. The bed does have metal around the bed frame, so a bit noisy at times if you forget, even with slippers instead of shoes. There was no coffee pot or desk but there are cafes and restaurants nearby, other larger rooms may have more options.

Great location and room was clean, however, room a bit cramped and Wifi was not good at all. They need to buy a repeater closer to the rooms. All in all, though, a good stay and would stay again.
- 5/5
The staff was excellent. The room was great, we had a refrigerator and microwave, bed was comfortable, walking distance to everything was great, even a view of the giant dipper. The shower had good water pressure. We would definitely stay here again.

We love this place for the convenience of its location, just a walk to the beach or boardwalk. The rooms are clean, the staff are supportive and it works as a place to sleep after a long day. The beds are comfortable and the mini fridge is big enough for lots of snacks for the kids.
- 5/5
Staff. Very very nice and helpful
- 4/5
Great location right by the beach and boardwalk. Could hear the screams from the roller coaster. double queen beds, clean good shower. Icebox and microwave. No coffee maker. Second floor no elevator. Comes with free parking right by the beach. great for kids.
- 4/5
Clean room, nothing fancy, good for sleeping and showering
- 3/5
Everything is good, but the room is old with old appliances. Neighbors were loud through midnights, which was a down side. Two queen beds were split into two rooms, which is different. Parking was a little hard since it’s on a downhill, but overall, it was a good experience. Check in and out was easy. Staff (Sam) was cool.

Owner was great helped with checking in. Great location to the board walk .
- 5/5
Only stayed one night but wished I booked more! Really nice room to stay in, bed was super comfortable! Room felt super clean too. Lovely staff. Parking was easy. Amazing location, right on the beach boardwalk with a nice view of it from the room. Nice cafes and restaurants around. Would definitely stay here again!
- 3/5
It was close to the boardwalk, best part about the room.
- 4/5
Stayed here during a solo trip. Felt completely comfortable and safe. Great location felt like I was near everything I wanted to go to. I just didn’t like the sound of the aluminum(?) bed frame when I got on and off the bed. Felt like a big back lol
- 4/5
Room was clean. A little cramped. The location is perfect to park the car and go.

- 3/5
For the price, it was fine. Staff was very courteous and friendly. Room is what you get for the price. Right next to the Boardwalk is why you are staying there.
- 2/5
Great location It was 40 degrees and there was a tiny space heater. Bee No amenities
- 4/5
Great location and clean room with fridge and microwave! I would definitely come back. Staff is very nice!
- 5/5
Great value, hidden gem. Disregard the older reviews the ownership has changed and the rooms have been remodeled. For the price you get all the basic amenities with an even greater location close to the tourist area of santa cruz
- 2/5
The check in was not smooth. They have a device where they run the ID’s digital part like a credit card. She tried and tried and concluded that there is something wrong with my ID! It didn’t even occurred to her, that the very poor WiFi they have might be the problem! Which it was the case

Had to call the front desk at 11:00 at night it was 50 degrees in the room heater didnt work they brought an electric heater and two more blankets, I went to the office in the morning at 10 and a sign on the door said they would be back in 15 min didnt get back until 2:00 and no one would answer the phone lady at the front desk was very nice.
- 2/5
Friendly receptionist but, no heater, no mirror in the bathroom, creaky bed, noisy surroundings.
- 2/5
Staff was good, downfall was the upstairs guests. We couldn’t sleep all night, every steps they took were so loud the walls were vibrating.
- 1/5
Worst stay of my life. Got to the hotel room and it was 60 degrees inside. The heater doesn't work so they gave us a crappy space heater to use. We asked to move rooms and they told us none of the rooms have heaters. The space heater didn't work good at all. We had to get more blankets to keep warm. It was absolutely freezing all night. I will NEVER return to this hotel again.
- 5/5
The room was very clean great service!
- 5/5
Great service and a fun area. Staff made sure we were taken care of.
- 3/5
Nice enough for the convenience of being across the street from the Boardwalk.
- 5/5
Room was clean.
- 4/5
Very convenient to Board walk. Little noisy at night outside
- 4/5
It was cool but there was little to no water pressure in the shower, but had body wash and shampoo dispensers inside which was nice. Bare necessities, right off the boardwalk. Parking is a little tight, on a hill. If you don’t mind these things, it’s a simple sweet spot
- 5/5
Super friendly staff, great place to stay with the family!
- 3/5
I mean just the same very little parking lot very little rooms Nothing special just a room Ez walk to the boardwalk
- 3/5
Good location for price.

- 4/5
Convience, close and walkable to everything!
- 4/5
Parking was a bit limited, but it was very close to the boardwalk
- 5/5
Clean room, staff was nice,
- 5/5
Very clean room in a great location The staff was very helpful and very friendly
- 3/5
Free parking. Clean rooms, but outdated. No nightstand. Lots of stairs and steep slopes.
- 4/5
The parking lot next to property had people partying loud beginning at 10pm. Be aware there is no elevator. Being older adults, we should have requested a first floor room. The card key lock on our door worked fine, but the additional safety lock that clicks over from doorframe to door was broken in our room. It was clean and we didn't spend much time there, just to sleep. For the price it served our purpose well.
- 5/5
It was difficult to park due to the uneven terrain but there was always a free space. very polite employees, if there are problems they always help to fix them. we will definitely come back
- 2/5
We were supposed to stay there for 3 nights but we left after the 1st.
- 5/5
Check in guy was the best and parking was right in front of the room. Had no issues and loved the updated paint job. Cant wait to head back soon.
- 2/5
Two AC units in our unit. Neither one worked. Staff said they were replacing a transformer, but it wasn’t a power outage. They did bring us fans that made it kind of bareable. The paint was chipping and looked like rush job. The smoke detector was painted pink which is against compliance. The bed was fine. Parking was close to boardwalk to easily walk there. The front desk lady was amazing and super nice. I think it could be a nice place but needs some maintenance.
- 1/5
Parking was horrible, room smelt weird and was unsafe environment. Man walking around property with an ankle monitor on and police were there on a few occasions
- 3/5
everything was ok ,but ,nothing great
- 4/5
Greatest benifit was walking distance to everything.
- 1/5
No air conditioner, no mirror in or even close to bathroom, dirty floors, broken microwave, dangerous parking... staff kind but unable or willing to help in anyway. Apparently not one of our issues with the room could be improved!?!? AND the worst, when we went to check out 1 day early because of a medical crisis with a parent, despite hotels.com being willing to refund them the day, they stuck it to us and were unwilling to do so!!! We left a full day early and were stuck with the full bill.
- 1/5
we went for a mini vacation , the hotel was a walk away from the beach and you can see the boardwalk, 1st nite quiet (Thursday) 2nd night (Friday) I had the most inconsiderate People drunk noisey...I spoke to the manager at 10:30pm they had went to the bowling alley, came back at 1:30 am and continued the noise.....I CALLED THE MANAGER THEY NEVER PICKED UP THE PHONE, WENT TO THE OFFICE NO ONE WAS THERE, CALLED THEM NO ONE ANSWERED ...WE ENDED UP LEAVING AT 2:30am
- 4/5
Parking area is safe but very tight, very close to beach and boardwalk, location is great but it's a tight location
- 3/5
Room was small and in kind of a run down condition. Bathroom was just fine. As soon as we got into the room, which did not have a security lock, my husband killed a wolf spider that we assume came in through the gap under the front door. No cable tv. Toiletries were affixed to the walls. Parking lot was a tight fit. The only reason we chose it was due to it being across the street from the Boardwalk.
- 4/5
Clean room
- 5/5
Beds weren't super comfy but they were good enough. Like others said, the parking is tight and on a hill/slope so must be comfortable with your vehicle. The walls are thin so it's a little noisy at night with the nightlife outside but we picked this place to be able to walk to the Boardwalk and not have to find parking. Downtown Santa Cruz is less than a mile away and has tons of other food options and shopping. Overall, great place to stay while visiting Santa Cruz Boardwalk!
- 5/5
Owner was incredibly kind, helped me navigate the area, such a pleasant experience
- 4/5
Great place to stay, only it takes way to long to get hot water and they need something to hang your clothes/ coat or sweater on.
- 4/5
reasonable price. location
- 5/5
Staff is great. Rooms are clean. Great experience
- 5/5
Fireside has up done some great upgrades
- 5/5
Front desk was kind and helpful
- 3/5
Pros: LOCATION, price, mini fridge w freezer Cons: there was long black hair all over the floors, no mirror in bathroom, light in bathroom would randomly turn on and off. No tub
- 1/5
Door locos didn’t work mold in windows not fixed right smelled bad metal beds the squeak at every movement and bad beds
- 5/5
Staff was very friendly (even with out late check in). Rooms were clean.. area is very quiet and wlkable to the beach (2 blocks)
- 5/5
Awesome!
- 4/5
Everything was great but I think the ac leaked water notices in morning floor was wet
- 3/5
Right next to the boardwalk but hotel is a bit dated. Very small and narrow parking lot. If you have a big vehicle then good luck getting in and out.
- 5/5
Stayed here as it was across the street from the Boardwalk. Area does not have much for shopping and dinning after 9pm.
- 1/5
Dirty floors, not much amenities.
- 4/5
Probably the closest to the Boardwalk. Walkable to Boardwalk, beach, and wharf. Parking is tight. Our A/C was non-operable during a very hot weekend. I didn't notice that they said there's no elevator. There are a lot of stairs. The staff is friendly and helpful.
- 5/5
I loved how close it was to all the fun, for a reasonable price. I will be back.
- 5/5
Bare minimum stay.
- 4/5
Front desk staff was friendly. Parking area is cramped and no elevator on the property. Location is excellent though, one block away from the boardwalk.
- 2/5
The air condition was broken and another air condition had sounds that bothered my sleep. There was no sofa and coffee maker in the room.
- 4/5
This motel is a great location from the boardwalk. It made it easy to go back and rest when we needed a break. The beds were comfy and it was pretty quiet at night. The location of this motel looked a little sketchy but overall we had a good night stay.
- 3/5
The beds seem like really old.
- 4/5
The entire Santa Cruz area is quite expensive on weekends during the summer. The only reason I have it only 4 stars is that the parking is horrendous. Not only is it on a steep hill, most spots are also slanted and quite tight to park in. Crime is also rampant in the area with vagrants eyeballing vehicles daily to steal from so don’t leave anything outside the room that you cannot live without. This applies to the entire area, not just Fireside…
- 5/5
Great location! Had everything we needed for a weekend away. Beds were comfy. Very clean.
- 4/5
First time staying here and it was really convenient! Walking out the boardwalk through the arcade it’s about a 2 minute walk to the room. Check in was a breeze. Park, check in, and front desk helps you find a spot. Would definitely stay here again.
- 5/5
Very close to the boardwalk! We love staying here when we want to spend the night in Santa Cruz.
- 5/5
Place was quiet, close to the boardwalk, staff was very nice, the only complaint would be the AC didn't work.
- 4/5
This is my second time here and once again, pros and cons. The last time we were here, the room were outdated but AC works. Now this year, rooms were renovated but AC didn't work this time. The only complaint was the bed platform makes loud bang noise. I'll definitely be back only if the price is right.
- 1/5
1 spider in the bed fine, 1 green dead bug found inbetween the pillows ok….bed bug crawling on the bed, no no no packed up and left immediately. Still waiting for a call from the manager because supposedly no “manager” on site. Avoid her at costs. Yeah super close and convenient next to the boardwalk which was nice but I didn’t plan to have bugs in my bed also.
- 1/5
This motel was awful. We spent $530 for 2 nights and it wasn’t even worth half of that. The beds are rock hard, you can feel the springs, and the bed frame is so noisy just getting in/ out and rolling. It sounds like metal hitting against metal. The showers water pressure is so so bad. It took our family of 5 an absolute ridiculous amount of time to shower as the water barely drips out. The water was also barely luke warm. By the time we were 2 showers in the water was cold. The lights outside of the rooms were also so bright that it looked like day time through the windows in the middle of the night. It was so bright and kept our kids up. We had to have housekeeping come in and mop the floors because our feet were immediately turning black walking around after showers. You can tell they don’t clean properly between guests. Also, they feed a whole hoard of pigeons, so if you’re lucky enough and park where they feed, your car will be covered in poop. Absolutely the worst place we’ve ever stayed. Will not be returning.
- 5/5
Muy cerca de la playa
- 2/5
Things we liked: - Proximity to the Boardwalk - Room configuration (king bed in the “main room” and separate bedroom with two double beds) - Parking included - Refrigerator (and microwave, though we didn’t use it) in room Things that were disappointing: - The strong smell of Fabuloso cleaner that tries to mask the mildew or mold (we still don’t know which one) stank. My kid’s stuffy that he slept with in his bed came home smelling like that room. So, so gross! - The bath products in the wall dispensers. The hand soap was empty. There is only a 2-in-1 shampoo/conditioner. The body wash and shampoo are suspiciously similar. - The window, while operable, had no screen, and given the smell, you REALLY want to open that window. (Notable credit to the plantation shutters though.) - The TVs (there were two) got snowy reception and a very odd set of channels. The kid room has fewer channels than the main room. - The beds felt almost hollow and just sank when you sat. The linens were questionably clean. - The parking is very, very tight. We managed, but many spaces are parallel on an incline. Overall, this place reminds you - you get what you pay for. Pay a little more.

- 4/5
There was no mirror in the bathroom. No closet or even a rod to hang your clothes. Great location and friendly staff.
- 5/5
The owner is the sweetest man! He upgraded us for free and made sure that we were taken care of.
- 4/5
The gentleman at the desk was friendly and helpful. We were able to park and walk to the beach, boardwalk and breakfast!!! Cleaning services does a great job making it feel clean and not sandy.
- 5/5
Everything is very convenient. The staff was pretty nice.
- 3/5
The air conditioner was out, no solution offered.
- 4/5
It was great for the price. The room was clean. Our daughter loved the seperate room. There is no closet, but other than that is was really good. Check in was easy.
- 4/5
The bed was super uncomfortable but the showerr made up for it. Overall good, the location of the hotel was the real winner.
- 3/5
We have been here many times. The staff is always nice. It is not a high end place but it is close to the boardwalk.
- 2/5
I could not stand the smell in the room. The metal beds seemed very cheap and made sounds easily.
- 5/5
We stayed in the large room that had a king size bed, and two queens, nothing fancy, but it is perfect for our family size and very close to the boardwalk at a reasonable price.
- 3/5
Property is close to board walk which was nice but parking was absolutely awful. And the suite room had no tv in the extra room and was very small
- 4/5
It was a great stay!
- 2/5
The location was the best. The room was dated so bad that the 60s are calling. Dam....
- 4/5
The check in host was very rude
- 4/5
This is a great location, it’s very close to the boardwalk. The room we had was a suit a full size bed in the extra room. No mirror in the restroom and no working phone. Water leaked out of the shower. Other than this it was good. I would definitely stay again.
- 3/5
Very close to the boardwalk and the wharf, room was spacious and the staff was friendly. If you are looking to sleep past 6am this is not the place, extremely noisy neighborhood.

- 4/5
Bed being on metal bed frames was strange, bed itself wasn’t the best quality. Location was perfect and the room worked for exactly what we needed. Owner was very kind and helpful. Rooms looked like they were recently updated, bathroom was great. Mainly just the bed situation and the floor needs a good mopping.
- 1/5
It was loud all night!! the people upstairs were stomping around and just terrible! Don’t expect to sleep. The people around the area are super loud. I guess that’s what I get for being right across from the boardwalk.
- 3/5
a bit noisy, and the beds have bottoms that sound like they are made of pans. But it was clean and was a safe place to sleep for the night. The staff was nice.
- 3/5
Great location for walking to Boardwalk and the pier. Room was clean, but quirky… bed made noise, small TV, no lamps or dim lights, broken toilet roll holder.
- 5/5
Stayed right across the street in this awesome little hotel with easy access to the beach and whole boardwalk.
- 3/5
Very close to the boardwalk. There are no coffee makers in the rooms. The hotel manager was very nice and helpful, he was a good host.
- 1/5
The rooms were cramped with 2 queen beds, barely any room to walk around the room especially to the bathroom. Then the shower had a noticeable leak in the bottom door frame, potential to build mold if it didn’t already. The bathroom remodel was also unfinished. As well as the paint chipping all over the room. The pillows were completely flat, might as well put your head on the mattress. There was a questionable stain on the sheets. And no, the cop never showed up for the parking space. Overall wouldn’t stay here again. Would NOT recommend to a friend.
- 1/5
The owner was very rude. We asked for towels since we stayed two days at this property. We had to give them back our dirty towels to get new clean towels. We had two cars to park because my husband met us there after work. The owner came up to the car and told my husband listen to me I don’t listen to you and he instructed him to park in a certain spot even though they were not sold out of rooms. There was plenty of parking space available. The owner asked his employee to see how many people we had in our room. There were two adults and two children. Get some training in customer service.
- 4/5
Great spot to stay for the price and location with the free parking you can’t beat it
- 4/5
Close to boardwalk and bowling alley. Location is great.
- 5/5
Staff very friendly and helpful. Close to boardwalk, updated and clean.
- 2/5
Fantastic location, limited parking make sure you come early. Cleanliness is not top priority. Looks like a man cleans the rooms for sure! Would have been nice to have two towels. Would have been nice to have a lamp or table in the room. My ice bags stuck to the inside of the tiny freezer!! Which made a popping noise all night that made me feel like I was right at home canning again!! No screen which was unfortunate. Potato chips all over the floor I think. No coffee for you..... however there is a wonderful restaurant around the corner! Conveniently located across from the bowling alley bars restaurants and near the pier! Bring your own blankets and pillows this is a cheap stay but worth the location
- 5/5
Clean room, great location. Would definitely stay here again
- 4/5
Great service, Nice room and even better, it was a short walking distance from boardwalk. Only thing needed was a closet or rack to hang some clothes.
- 1/5
The bedframes were extremely loud and the room keys are faulty. Faulty room keys meant we were locked outside of our room with our car keys and the rest of our property inside when we returned at 2am. Management was unreachable until 9am and only after banging on the private residence door to where the owner lives. We recieved no apology much less any attempts to rectify me not getting the service I paid well over 200 for. Location not worth the hassle.
- 5/5
A really great place to stay.
- 4/5
There were a lot of sketchy people around the hotel. Parking is really tight. Right across the street from the boardwalk.
- 5/5
Friendly front desk clean room quiet walkable and great location for boardwalk
- 5/5
If you’re literally there just for the boardwalk, this is the most perfect ideal room. It’s in between Santa Cruz, Boardwalk, and the pier everything within walking distance, very clean even in the middle of construction it was still a comfortable stay.
- 5/5
The rooms are were clean,
- 4/5
Hotel was in a great location and had free parking. The man who owned the hotel was very nice!
- 1/5
The room lock didn’t lock and there was no ac me and my kids were burning up I had to go and buy a fan.
- 5/5
Nice, remodeled room. Helpful and friendly staff, thank you!
- 5/5
There was no AC, but luckily the weather was nice. Very nice man at the front desk. Parking was on a slop and narrow. Be prepared if you plan to stay.
- 4/5
This was a super cute hotel. Super close to all the cool stuff
- 3/5
Although they provide the wifi, the wifi wasn't working. My children was disappointed they could'nt use their pads.
- 1/5
Honestly, this is the worst hotel I've ever stayed in.
- 4/5
It difnt have any way of hanging up your clothes.
- 4/5
The not so great stuff - the property is built on a hill and you have to park at a pretty steep angle. Good to know if your car's brakes aren't in the best condition. If you're on the second floor, you have a set of stairs to get up and then another 4 stairs every 2 rooms so if you're in the middle of the 2nd floor, it makes packing and unpacking your car quite a workout. Had I known that, especially traveling with kids, I would have called ahead to try to get a 1st floor room. Their are two air freshener packets hanging in every room - if you're sensitive to scents like I am, you might want to call ahead to request they don't put any in there, but even once removing them our room smelled like air freshener. Something that might not bother most people but was very bothersome to us - there are no lamps or dimmable lights in the room. Just three extremely bright overhead lights.

It was cold, there is no heater or blankets. The 1 blanket had several holes burned in it and it was extremely noisy.

The slide lock on the door was broken, many items were off balance and crooked. Several outlets did not work.

Room was clean had all necessities. Easy to get around on foot. A lot of noise from adjacent businesses and very hard to sleep at night. Hot water did not work at first in both the sink and shower, but eventually started to work in shower. The bathroom had a gas smell coming in for a while but eventually dissipated.

The room was inexpensive, so I didn't expect a lot. However..... The room was cold on arrival - no heat. The manager gave me a small electric space heater and explained that the electric company had a blown transformer they wouldn't fix. Obvious nonsense since the property did have electric power. The room had a small refrigerator and microwave - no coffee maker. I brought my own one-cup coffee maker. When I ran the heater and coffee maker, it blew the circuit breaker. My son woke up the second day with bites on his arms. Yep, bed bugs. There was no one in the office, (despite advertising that there was 24/7,) but through the Ring camera, the manager told me, (from Scotts Valley,) where to find a key to a different room, maintaining that EcoLab sprayed the rooms every week. You had to run the shower/faucet for about 10 minutes to get hot water, which did eventually get there. All room lighting was from bright, ceiling mounted floodlights. Not adaptable to reading in bed or watching TV. The location was great with an easy walk to the wharf and the Boardwalk, but I will not be staying there again.

Nice little hotel great area right next to the bowling alley and board walk.

Close to the beach and to the half-ironman start, so it was very convinient

It was in walking distance to the Boardwalk which was great. The was a bit tight but it was free so that was nice. The rooms were clean and for the price it did the job.

The hotel has updates to the rooms and the exterior and there is a lot of security cameras which is nice. The owner is a very nice man and helpful. The inside of the rooms are more comfortable with the updates they did to the floors, paint, mirrors and showers. The hotel is good for a short 3-4 days stay my partner and son stayed for up to four days and it was perfectly fine. The water takes a while to heat up but that’s just due to old pipes. It may not have a continental breakfast or offer a vallet service but the views of the beach, and the fact that it’s steps away from the boardwalk bowl and Santa Cruz beach boardwalk is a huge plus and benefit when you stay here. It’s cozy, updated and right next to the beach. It’s reasonably priced and well worth the stay!

I booked a two night stay and on the second night we lost all power to the room. No accommodation was made, no alternative room and no electrician was sent out as the manager stated. Made for a very long and dark night and awkward morning trying to get ready.

3 stars for clean.....due to a box a food from jack n the box found in dresser drawer. Looked like possibly kids hid food from parents because half eaten burger, all fries left and 2 tacos left in a "munchies" box closed up in the drawer. Hotel staff obviously did not do a thorough cleaning. Very noisy upstairs when you stay on lower floor. Definitely a hotel for families. If it was not for the price and location, we would have stayed elsewhere.

Close to downtown and the beach. Also has multiple good options within walking distance. Staff was friendly and attentive. The room we have came with a beautiful view of the ocean and the boardwalk. 10/10 would recommend.

all over too!

Great location. Easy walk to the wharf for dinner. The boardwalk is close and if you like bowling or miniature golf they are both within a two-minute walk. Also close to beach volleyball and the sand. The proprietor was kind and helpful.

Power outlets on either side of bed not working! Unable to plug in my CPAP machine. Not good!

Clean and quiet

The property went through a renovation, but was done very poorly. The fan wasn't wired in for the bathroom, creating mold in there. Outlet plates weren't fully attached to walls, batteries were dead in the remote, shower door panels weren't straight, causing water to go everywhere, and they only had AC, no heat. Overall pretty disappointed with the hotel, but I guess that's what I get for paying less for it.

Floor was sandy on our arrival and towels were damp.....we hope from being washed and not used! The AC would not stay on for more than a few minutes, luckily we were not staying in the height of summer. There was nowhere to hang clothes or open cases, except the sandy floor. It was great having a microwave and fridge, but there was only one chair and no table to sit at. There were no lamps, the main lights were the only lights.
