We love the location right next to the beach!
- 3/5
Clean, but a bit run down.
- 5/5
The properties location is in an exquisite spot ocean front right on the water. I was told parking was $35. In fact I was charged 40 per car. It’s good that they have an adjacent parking lot to accommodate guests first before opening up. Any additional parking to visitors great location very clean rooms quiet area highly recommend recommended.
- 5/5
The room was awesome! The price was amazing! The distance to the beach and boardwalk was phenomenal! The staff was awesome! We'll be back next year...or sooner!!!
- 5/5
We had a great time at Casablanca. The location is fantastic. We were traveling with our three little dogs and they were well taken care. A dog run was super easy and clean. By the second day they walked themselves there. lol. We could walk downtown and to the boardwalk and the pier without exhausting ourselves. Everything is super near and at night time you can hear the ocean waves. Next time I’m booking up front with a balcony. Would you believe it rain one of the days. But even then we had fun. I had forgotten how beautiful and entertaining and not to mentioned the restaurant choices Santa Cruz has. The college kids playing volleyball, the kids on the boardwalk and all the folks walking around made me feel safe.
- 2/5
There was no hot water, and when we informed the receptionist she said to run the tap for 15 minutes. That didn’t work AND the shower head was totally broken from the wall so we had to hold it while attempting to bathe ourselves. The light socket was falling off the wall, which is a serious electrical code issue, and the cable box for the TV was hanging from the cords to the TV. A very run down place, and the receptionist was unfriendly and had no sympathy about our hot water. Very disappointed when paying almost $300 for the room!!
- 4/5
The parking was good the location of the hotel the hotel room was clean. And the staff was very nice. I would stay there again.
- 5/5
Amazing
- 4/5
No ADA. No continental breakfast. Our refrig leaked all over the floor and probably had many times, to the point that the floor bubbled up about an inch. Wall between room was paper thin - we could hear the people next door using the bathroom. The views were fantastic. The deck was fab.
- 5/5
Nice room and friendly staff! The hotel was in a safe location and close to everything.
- 1/5
The room we were provided was dirty and gross. There were loogies in the shower and the bathroom sink was dirty with back wash, as it was clogged. There no way this hotel should be placing guests in the room.
- 5/5
It was a wonderful experience
- 4/5
Hotel was great wife and the children were upset that the water did not drain in the shower other then that staff were very helpful and property was great.
- 2/5
Room was not clean, there were used q tips on the balcony with other miscellaneous trash. There was a used Kleenex put back in the Kleenex box. The shower water was lukewarm at best. The shower head was stripped and slowly fell down as you used it. No decaf coffee available on site.
- 5/5
Beautiful location! Wonderful staff. Plenty of parking.
- 5/5
Good
- 5/5
Need closer breakfast place
- 1.5/5
Exterior was nice Room was not clean. The floors turned the bottom of my light blue socks black. The room had no towels had to ask front desk. Bathroom counter and shower not clean had to wipe down with Clorox and bleach wipes before using
- 3/5
Lots of stairs and the bathroom light would not stay on for more than 2 minutes. Rough for showering. No laundry facilities.

Large room, clean bright …very near beach. Front desk lady very nice Would have liked more ocean view but great for price
- 5/5
Stayed for a weekend and will continue staying in the future. My wife loved the room, it was extremely clean and the view from the balcony had us not even wanting to go to the beach, we hungout on the balcony most of the time with our beer and clean bathroom. Only gripe we had was the wifi was not good enough for us to stream a movie (had to use the Hotspot on my phone) and parking was limited and chaotic with people parking wherever they fit, outside of the parking spots, in handicap spots with no placards displayed and even in the no parking lines for the hadicap spots. Considering how accessible everything was and the view, id say it was a small price to pay.
- 1/5
We left a pair of eyeglasses and a wallet there and live very far away. The staff member I called suggested I do a click and ship label which I did. It has been 15 days and they still haven't even put it in the mail despite me stressing how important it was that we needed it before vacation kind of hard to be in a casino without your drivers license. Also, obviously eyeglasses are very important if somebody needs them for vision impairment.. I have texted several times and corresponded with various staff members who all seem to not understand the importance of getting this package in the mail. The view and location are incredible. That’s all this hotel has going for them.
- 5/5
Amazing view and across thr
- 4/5
Close to beach boardwalk. . The view was more buildings than beachfront. As far as parking didn't seem to have enough parking for people staying.

- 5/5
Loved it
- 5/5
Right by the boardwalk
- 3/5
Close to Beach and Boardwalk Room was Dirty walls had grimes and holes different paint
- 5/5
EVERYTHING!!!!!?
- 4/5
The location was perfect. Despite it being a busy weekend, the property was quiet. The only reason why I gave it a 4 out of 5 is that there was an ant issue. Other than that, I’d definitely book again!
- 4/5
My only complaint is that the room was listed as newly renovated and I didn’t see any kind of renovation. In fact the barn style bathroom door was chipped and kept getting stuck, the shower stall floor was dirty and the track moldy. The fridge cabinet didn’t close properly and was squeaky, the floor was dirty. And lastly the TV only had one channel that played “Little House on the Prairie” on repeat. That stuff was not much of a bother but don’t list a room as newly renovated if it’s not.
- 5/5
EVERYTHING!!!!!!?
- 3.5/5
That is right in front of the beach
- 5/5
Great location.
- 4/5
Coffee and pastry was noted but no pastry. The bathroom sink was plugged up but the maintenance fixed it right away. Bed was comfy and balcony was enjoyable to sip wine and enjoy partial ocean view. We’d stay again.
- 5/5
This is my 2nd time booking for my birthday, i love the view of the beach from my room! It’s very peaceful and relaxing
- 4/5
Internet was very spotty
- 3/5
The location was great & the staff was helpful but the property itself wasn’t well-maintained & the cleanliness was definitely not up to par. There was areas in the room that had rotting wood & multiple areas that needed to retracted. There was mold on the shower curtain, the floor hadn’t been swept & there were cockroaches in the bathroom. For how much we paid for this room I was definitely expecting a much better experience — not sure that I’d feel comfortable returning to this location.
- 5/5
Everything was nice, on the beach nice views
- 5/5
The location of the property was ideal. The Trex deck with outdoor patio furniture situated right outside my hotel room was perfect as was the view of the ocean, the Wharf, and the Boardwalk.
- 5/5
The floor left out feet dirty
- 5/5
Nothing
- 4.5/5
Proximity to the beach & restaurants. Close by parking.
- 5/5
Beach view
- 4/5
The room was quaint. We did notice the floors and some of the furniture were collecting dust. The closet space was awkward because the mini fridge and the microwave were also inside taking up space, so our clothes weren’t able to hang freely. Probably not the best place for that. Especially, the microwave because heating up food can potentially smell your hung clothing. Overall, the stay was comfortable and the customer service was great. They got my room ready for an early check-in, which I appreciated very much. It was the perfect, affordable vacation stay for my family. Favorite part, was definitely the location. The grocery store (Trader Joe’s or Safeway) is only a 5-7 minute drive. We would stay there again and just request for the room to be cleaned more thoroughly.
- 5/5
Old school charm with balconies overlooking the ocean. We loved being able to sit and enjoy the view as well as hearing the ocean waves (and the sea lions!)
- 2/5
The property boasted a court yard for gathering and it was the sadest weed covered cement area with a beat up corn hole game and broken furniture I’ve ever seen. Our TV only had a few channels and could connect to Netflix but it was google TV that hadn’t been updated probably since it’s purchase years ago so it kept clitching and pausing and not responding to the remote. The only positive thing about this place was the proximity to the beach. Being right across from the beach and boardwalk was why we chose the property but next time I’ll send a little more and stay someone that actually take pride in the appearance and functionally of the rooms they offer.
- 5/5
Casablanca on the Beach is our home away from home. We’ve stayed here 5x this past year bc our son moved up here last June. Each time we’ve stayed in a different room in a different bldg and have never been disappointed. We travel with our 2yr old German Shepherd and he knows the property like home. Location is optimal. Walking distance to restaurants and entertainment. Oceanfront!! Very pet friendly, accommodating, responsive to requests, professional, and genuinely kind staff. Love it!!
- 5/5
Great and just across from the beach
- 5/5
Patio area had a beautiful view and you can’t beat the location!
- 5/5
Beautiful hotel
- 5/5
Casablanca is very convenient to go beach and boardwalk. I do wish the flooring wasn’t sticky and cracking noise when walking throughout the room . I loved my night stay and so did my family.
- 5/5
Great view ver clean
- 5/5
We had a great (partial) beach view from our room, even though we were on the street. It was really fun to be so close to the Boardwalk, even though the weather was rainy when we visited. Parking was on the interior of the hotel, and felt safe. It was very convenient to walk to Ideal and Firefish Restaurants - the hotel restaurant was being renovated. The staff was very friendly too.
- 4/5
Great location and large room.
- 5/5
Everything was great!
- 2/5
When we made the reservation, the website said that parking was included. When we arrived they charged for parking at a rate of $35 per night.
- 5/5
As usual, wonderful time. Love this place.
- 5/5
The guy at the front desk is very helpful, he was really nice. Room was ok, but it’s clean.
- 4/5
Office doesn't open until 8am, so coffee on the open patio isn't until then. We had a beautiful view, but you can't hear the ocean. Walked to the boardwalk which was so close. Loved the parking.
- 1/5
Room was discussing, felt like an hourly room. Dirty sheets, dirty towels, dirty hand prints on the walls. Had to get our own sheets, blanket, and pillows from the store. Ice is dirty with black specs in it. Soap in tge room smelt like vomit.
- 5/5
What an amazing trip we had !!!!! The hotel was ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS ! Had the view of the ocean , main beach & the wharf straight from the bed ! And the full moon reflecting on the water at nite - absolutely magical ! Traveled with my 11mo pup & we had the most wonderful experience ever. All we had to do was cross the street & we were at the beach . Staff very friendly . Gorgeous patio/balcony . If you’re traveling with pets - def worth it ! Thank you Casablanca for making our trip so much more enjoyable
- 5/5
We enjoyed our stay, everything was great. Ava is a superstar.
- 5/5
We realy enjoy our stay.had a great view of ocean the pup run was a little run down but it did the job.over all i would come back.
- 4/5
The view was amazing and the location was perfect !
- 5/5
Clean room, great views, easy access to the beach.
- 2/5
Not worth the cost. The front desk staff seemed disinterested and couldn't give clear directions to my room. There are also no signs indicating the room numbers. The room was okay. Not worth the $400 + I spent on the room.
- 4/5
Perfect location and staff was super helpful.
- 1/5
However, upon returning that evening after celebrating , we were preparing for bed I pulled back the comforter and discovered stains on the sheets on the left side and on pillows that were overturned. Resembling possibly makeup. Because it was too late to address it, front desk was closed. We had to sleep on one side of the bed. I showed photos of these conditions to the front desk staff during checkout the next morning. While she apologized and credited the parking fee, given that the room was not properly prepared. I receive the email address to Jessica the inn manager and explained to her with pictures regarding our stay she apologized and said she would give me a call . I never received a call I followed up 3 times with email yet no reply . We used to love Casablanca , I spent my birthday there last year as well and we have always had a pleasant experience , but this experience fell far below the standards I expect from the inn. We will not be returning
- 2/5
I had to wait 30 minutes just to be checked in. The staffer wasn’t pleasant at all.
- 3/5
On top of the nightly fee, they also charged a parking fee once you check in. Various wires hanging from TV. Ironing board about falls over when using. Definitely a nice view though.
- 2/5
Areas of the Hotel were closed restaurant and out door game area. Had to move from one room as too hot in 50 degree weather and shower drain back up. Under remolding unit above our room install a new floor from the sound of it.
- 5/5
Great spot
- 4/5
Great location—convenient and enjoyable for getting around and exploring the area. The space was comfortable overall. A bit more counter space in the bathroom would make things even more functional, and adding a screen door to the patio doors would really enhance airflow and comfort. Overall, a pleasant stay with a few small improvements that could make it even better.
- 5/5
Great view friendly staff!
- 5/5
Perfect location overlooking the beach and a very short walk to the pier and boardwalk. Lots of stairs if that’s an issue, but they do have floor level rooms. Plenty of parking with a charge. Lots of character to the hotel.
- 5/5
The location truly can’t be beat. Nestled right by the wharf and water, it offered easy access to the beach while still being close to everything we wanted to explore. Waking up to the sound of the waves and ending the day with ocean views created such a peaceful, relaxing experience. If you’re looking for a getaway that combines an awesome location with exceptional service and a calming coastal atmosphere, Casablanca Inn delivers beautifully. We’ll absolutely be back.
- 3/5
Form the front lobby and front rooms of the hotel, there is a great view of the beach/ocean. Front lobby patio is awesome to chill out on. We had room 403 which is the massive space above the back building. It does not really have a view, is a bit dilapidated and has termites in the window sills. I would NOT rent this particular room again, but I would try another room at this hotel. The front office staff were very friendly and the check-in/out process was seamless. Hotel has two dedicated parking lots which made coming and going into town very easy! Boardwalk and beach volleyball courts are basically across the street. Awesome restaurant and bar in the hotel next door.
- 5/5
Nice view. Small parking lot
- 4/5
The beach view was AWESOME. Deck was gorgeous. Staff was super nice. Parking was easy. Our neighbors the first two nights was super loud and kinda wild, and the walls are thin, but a manager offered to give us a different room, which was extremely nice. We wound up staying, and they chilled out, ultimately. We were able to bring our dog, it was a super easy walk to the boardwalk, and you basically fall out onto the beach. We’ll absolutely be back! 💕
- 5/5
The view was amazing
- 3/5
Wasn’t aware that all rooms were dog friendly! Not a big fan of staying in a room where a large dog was in!
- 5/5
We did not bring pets, the AC did not keep the room cool at night. Otherwise everything was great.
- 5/5
Great location.
- 4/5
The hotel and staff were amazing. Our room was top-tier. But we thought Neighbors above us on the second night of our stay and let’s say they sound like they had a circus in their room. So we had to endure at least five hours of listening to the people above us move furniture around their room. I had to inform the office that they were being too loud past the quiet time hours, and on top of all of that, our last night there there was a 4.6 earthquake. But all in all the property and the staff are amazing.
- 2/5
The room was much smaller than shown in the advertisement. No room to put suitcases hang clothes or do much of anything besides slink around the corners of the bed without hitting something.
- 4/5
The location of this hotel is amazing, nice cozy room and view. Although rooms need some maintenance, shower door were lose and hardware, had water leaking that made floors wet. Tv wasn't setup for use. Requested assistant first report, few hours past no one came after being told someone was assigned. 2nd report, gave instructions how to connect yourself. Finally after 3rd request the representative at front desk came to check but still no luck. We we told management has been informed and they will get back. Nothing happened. Stayed 2 days no house keeping was offered. Overall atmosphere and place was good. Good for small vacation.
- 3/5
I really wanted to love this beachfront property but it was just okay for me. I probably wouldn’t stay here again and check out the hotel next door. Check in customer service was lack luster and there was construction literally next to our ocean view room. So workers walking back and forth dropping pieces of wood etc while you’re trying to relax on the patio. Not entirely sure how clean the sheets were either bc there was hair within them. But the view was good.
- 2/5
You have to pay for parking either to the hotel or metered parking on street. The hotel seemed dated. Not nearly as nice as i had hoped for how much you pay. The bathroom sink had corn stuck in the drain. Room also had an old smell to it. The view was of the hotel accross the street. You had to be on the balcony to see the beach. There are other hotels better priced offer more and cleaner. I would not choose to stay here again.
- 2/5
Shower heads were grossly dirty. Microwave had nasty food gunked on the top. When asked for them to clean shower heads and microwave, they never did. We could not wait to get out of the room and avoided it as much as possible. Coffee was not served at 8am like they said. Staff was consistently not at front. While we were waiting, others eventually walked away as well because they were tired of waiting to talk with staff at front. No one showed for over 15 min. ONLY good thing was location and view. You can walk to boardwalk, pier, coffee shops, restaurants, etc. The pictures and outside are deceiving. Not sure about others rooms but avoid room #207.
- 5/5
Hotel was super nice, great time with my fiancé. Got a partial ocean view room on the corner but we practically had a full ocean view! We enjoyed the patio!
- 3/5
It was fine for one night. Deck chairs comfy. Bathroom needed to be cleaned. Coffee or something splashed on the wall could have been easily wiped off. Hand towel on rack was wet, like it missed the dryer completely. Construction directly next to room, same wall as bathroom, on property, started at 8:15 AM. Overall spacious and AC worked well.
- 5/5
Great location, great view
- 5/5
Always my go-to when in Santa Cruz. Great for everything!!

Overall it was good.

Very nice place. Our room was clean and bright. We also had the beach Veiw. Great girls trip.
- 5/5
Jessica as amazing the 3 days we were there. Beyond words thank you Jessica for helping us find just what we needed! The dogs also loved it!
- 4/5
The property location was great and the room was nice however the wifi did not work
- 4/5
The lights start blinking for no reason but other than that it was amazing!!
- 5/5
Great location, great room with ocean view. Clean. Overall great!
- 4/5
Room was good
- 4/5
Room a great size, loved the view and patio. Bathroom had some mold due to missing base board and moisture. Great staff, very understanding.
- 5/5
The views were amazing! We were close to everything. I liked that the lobby area had coffe, perfect in the morning to watch the sunrise. And the fire pit was on at night. Highly recommend.
- 5/5
Ac/ hear were both working! People were nice
- 4/5
It was jus t ok
- 3/5
No bar or restaurant. No amenities.
- 4/5
Great location. Easy walk to wharf and the beach. Suggest bringing own pillow as theirs are small, hard and lumpy.
- 5/5
A hidden gem in Santa Cruz, shh don’t tell anyone! Darling College didn’t help me check in, parking was super easy and you’re directly across the street from the ocean. What more does a girl want?
- 1/5
So great check in gal, great view - one of the best I’ve seen as far as hearing waves crashing - but other than that this was the most disturbing hotel room I’ve ever been in and there was no one around to help remedy anything. I did not sleep a wink and left. This place needs to be reported to the health department.
- 5/5
I stayed at Casablanca for two nights and had the king bed with private balcony. Woke up around 6am and looked out the glass door to
- 2/5
Shower was beyond filthy. It was full of toilet paper. Possibly a drain back up. Which happens but was not cleaned obviously. None of the outlets worked. Staff was nice and apologetic but offered no compensation.
- 3/5
There eye no shelves to put bathroom supplies, the lighting was one big light with no lamps, there was a closet but a refrigerator took up up most of the room,no hooks to hang clothes,The parking situation was super crowded and only 2 spots for handicapped that were taken up by large buses and transport vehicles. I had to park in the EV electric car spot. The bathroom door squeaked every time and woke up my GF. The staff is sometimes there. They had no ice .
- 3/5
Drove from out of town wouldn’t let us check in until 4pm. Not even at 3:45pm. Next morning no tea or coffee until 9am. When it said 7 to 10.
- 4/5
Friendly staff. Clean room but the microwave was broken. They replaced it the next day upon request.
- 5/5
Perfect! No complaints!
- 5/5
This is our go-to whenever in Santa Cru - which is approx 4x/yr. Everything you could possibly want in a stay. Pet friendly and just great all around!
- 5/5
clean room.. friendly staff
- 5/5
Everything was amazing
- 5/5
Clean room, free parking, friendly staff, and pet friendly!
- 5/5
very nice room, nice staff
- 3/5
Room was nice, staff cordial but not helpful or knowledgeable about the room.
- 1/5
It's a party hotel. Don't stay here if you value your sleep.
- 4/5
The bathroom corners on the floor of room 204 has some mold otherwise room was good. We were charged 466$ on our check in.on the day of check out we were charged a separate 366$ Which one of our a dent in the funds we were going to use for the day. It was a horrible inconvenience and when we spoke with the front desk staff we were told they couldn’t see that charge at their end. I had to dispute it. As I’ve said before, we had a wonderful stay the first time around, the second could have been better.
- 5/5
The room was clean and cozy. My pet enjoyed the treats at front lobby. The staff were very helpful.
- 4/5
The location is unbeatable! The staff that check you in are very warm and welcoming. The room had an awesome balcony that overlooks the volleyball courts on the beach.
- 5/5
Staff was courteous and the room was clean and neat. Had a great view of the ocean from my room. Walking distance to a lot of good restaurants and the beach is just across the street.
- 5/5
This was my second time here and this time we had a beach view. Once again everything was nice from staff to room. The shared balcony overlooking the beach and wharf was lovely
- 5/5
Friendly staff. Comfortable beds.
- 5/5
Our favorite lace to stay when visiting Santa Cruz.
- 1/5
Tried to give us a room with yellow stains on the sheets then kept our deposit! Very disappointing.
- 5/5
Awesome view great staff rooms clean
- 5/5
Staff was very friendly, helpful & knowledgeable.
- 4/5
Yes the beach view and balcony were unobstructed
- 5/5
Loved everything about the room. Location. View. Bed was big and comfy. The room was spacious and clean. We wanted an extra chair and a small table so we brought the patio table in and chair from the balcony. Other than that, accommodations were very nice.
- 5/5
Was great! Thank you!
- 5/5
Excellent location
- 5/5
Great room size, clean, friendly staff, and dog friendly.
- 5/5
Great place to stay and welcoming staff. Loved it.
- 5/5
Although we were only there one night it was a great place to stay. We had a great view and were able to walk to get food which was nice. We had our dog with us so we appreciated the little dog run in the back.
- 2/5
I checked in around 9:40pm, with the text instructions, I got the keys from a lockbox. The room was nice but only had one king bed. I thought I reserved two queen beds room. The manager was kind enough to switch us to another family room. It has only one heater in two separate sleeping spaces. I stayed in the king bed space without a heater and let my two teen boys stay in the warmer space. I was freezing and caught a cold. I reserved two nights, and the manager knew it. She set the keys for one night. We had to walk across the court in cold and rain to get our keys reset. I checked out on the New Year’s Eve night and drove home. If you reserve this place, make sure not to pick the so call family room in winter. The room has no view to the ocean and was like a century old cabin. I haven’t used Hotels.com for a while and was very disappointed. The hotel wasn’t cheap. I paid over five hundred for two nights.
- 5/5
Clean room, great staff at front desk, and awesome view
- 5/5
Both the room and the view were excellent
- 4/5
Were absolutely horrible.
- 2/5
Their solution was to te us to restart our devices. Which we already tried. Comfy beds, space amenities.
- 5/5
Beautiful view fron the room and very nice balcony plenty of options for community balcony
- 3/5
Sparsly furnished. Only table in the middle not reachable from either bed. The outside lights shine in all the windows all night. Nice view nice location. $37 parking. No one answers the phone.
- 4/5
It was a great view, it would have been allot better if it wasn’t storming
- 1/5
Didn’t give me a beach view even we’ve booked with it. And argued because we’ve booked from Expedia we got lower quality rooms than booking from their official website.
- 5/5
Amazing views and clean rooms
- 5/5
Yes
- 5/5
Very good location, and the front desk staff are very kind as well! I would like to come again next time! The hotel name, Casablanca, is also very wonderful!

- 5/5
Clean modern room, good fridge and microwave, good shower.
- 3/5
The shower had no hot water
- 5/5
The view from our room was absolutely stunning. The sunroom addition to the room was well worth it. One of the best stays I have had in Santa Cruz. Short walk to the beach and easy access to everything. Front desk woman was amazing- so kind and helpful. She really went out of her way to be helpful. Best stay I have had in a long time! Well worth it!

- 2/5
I enjoyed the ocean view
- 5/5
Wonderfull stay
- 1/5
Super dirty , I book two room , I pulled back the sheets, and they were covered in hair. My husband's bed had some black paste-like stuff on it, and the same thing happened in my parents' and kids' rooms. It was terrible.
- 5/5
Everything was beyond our expectations
- 5/5
My husband and I love this place. It’s close to the ocean and all the fun things are in walking distance.
- 5/5
Great place even during off-season.
- 5/5
The rooms were very clean as the whole resort was wonderful! Ocean view and right across the street from the beach and Boardwalk.
- 5/5
Great beachfront hotel for the price. The staff was helpful and the hotel was steps away from boardwalk, pier, beach and lots of dining options.
- 4/5
Courteous staff, large room
- 1/5
Horrible, rude & only care about making money. Never again
- 4/5
Pillows were lumpy but plenty of them. Lighting in the bathroom was not great for makeup application.
- 5/5
Great place right on the beach.
- 5/5
Had a wondeful stay. Easy access, beach front, cute hotel
- 5/5
Clean room friendly staff
- 3/5
We had an issue with new paint smell. But a good location
- 2/5
The room was not properly cleaned — the floors hadn’t been swept or mopped, there was sand in the sheets, and the balcony had spider webs with dusty furniture.
- 5/5
Great place
- 5/5
The beach front room was great! Beautiful views and easy access to the beach and the Boardwalk.
- 5/5
Great views, the staff was friendly, easy check in.
- 4/5
Nice place. Comfortable and quaint
- 5/5
Nice staff, good room
- 5/5
It’s very peaceful and clean . It’s a no frills hotel conveniently located across from the ocean. The views are everything! The staff were very helpful and made great recommendations for dinner and assisted with ride shares . I really enjoy the whole city’s vibe :)
- 5/5
Staff was friendly and it overlooks the beach.
- 5/5
Unobstructed views of Santa Cruz Beach and the Bay. Extremely friendly and helpful staff, simple but clean room with everything you need, nice outdoor seating spaces with amazing views.
- 5/5
Great stay!
- 4/5
Close to the wharf
- 3/5
The beach view and location were great but the room was a bit rundown. The room was clean but was missing some basics—no washcloths, no coffee creamer or sugar and chargers next to bed were non-functioning.
- 5/5
Great access to everything without using a vehicle.
- 4/5
Nice partial view from balcony.
- 3/5
Room 208 had a good view. But the room wasnt very clean. Needs new paint, caulking around sink was coming out, the sunroom bed had burn holes in blanket. The floor was sandy. You pay for the view.
- 3/5
The toilet seat broke (was fixed promptly) the shower door isn’t put on correctly and the handle was loose and the floor was bubbled up. Seems like whoever flipped the room to update it, did a terrible job. Staff was friendly and helpful and the location was A+. Not worth $300+ though with a brand new Marriott around the corner.
- 5/5
staff was accommodating
- 4/5
Pet friendly with a great play/potty area.
- 5/5
Great stay and experience. Views are wonderful and nice touches in the hotel. Staff were great
- 5/5
Lovely stay, friendly staff, beautiful view
- 5/5
Quiet, clean, right by the beach. What's not to like?
- 2/5
The hotel could use an entire property makeover. Especially with a brand new competitor next door for similar price. This is our first stay and will not return. We will stay next door at the new hotel.
- 5/5
Great
- 5/5
Our room had amazing ocean view. There was seating right outside of the room to relax .
- 5/5
Stayed here to go to the board walk with my children and this hotel was just amazing. Beautiful rooms and area. The view from the room was amazing we were walking distance so we got to leave our car. I definitely recommend this place to stay.
- 1/5
The hotel isn’t a boutique hotel at all. It’s a worn out motel.
- 4/5
We had the family room. Two king beds with a door making it two separate rooms. Perfect for us because I had two teens who stayed up late! Our view was the parking lot but no biggie. The bathroom was a bit odd because the floor was shared with the toilet & shower! So after showering, the floor was soaked. We had to put down towels so our feet wouldn’t touch the ground. That was the only thing I didn’t like about the room. Superb location, directly across from the volleyball courts/beach. The two decks were amazing in the morning! They’re open from 9-9. Front desk employees were super nice and helpful! Free coffee and tea was nice as well!
- 5/5
Impressive bathroom shower and shared patio deck. The staff at the Casablanca are helpful and kind. Walking distance to just about everything….and again…the beach view is amazing! You can hear the ocean waves in your sleep. We will be back!
- 2/5
Really hated that they charged $35 for parking in their lot and charged a $30 “Expedia fee”. What is that?? I have never had a fee added before for using Expedia.
- 4/5
My daughter and I had a quick one night getaway. Great location, nice hotel, comfortable, with microwave small refrigerator and decent size freezer. A well loved room and I would definitely stay again.
- 5/5
Clean room and nice location
- 5/5
Nice Mediterranean style.
- 5/5
Amazing views great vibes and close to the boardwalk
- 3/5
"Oops. We made your keys expire a day before you checked out.". Nightmare. Unacceptable. I arrived after a marathon family wedding day on my third day at the hotel with my key cards not working and a dead cell phone. After memorizing the phone number posted on the closed office (at 10:35pm) and wandering around as a single woman trying to find someone who would let me use their cell phone, feeling unsafe, I finally found another hotel whose concierge contacted the phone number for me. After waiting another 30 minutes, The employee who originally checked me in the first day arrived and told me that my keys had been set to deactivate incorrectly (she was the one who did it) And she fixed it. I'm my room at 12:05am in pain and exhausted. I was offered was a late checkout - but I had a flight so that didn't matter. For what I paid to stay here, it was very barebones -- missing a lot of things I'm used to at similar hotels-- and this just put a giant red mark across the stay. Disappointed.
- 3/5
Pillows were horrible, lumpy and flat. Staff was nice and helpful. The view of beach and convenience of location was everything.
- 5/5
Great place to stay in Santa Cruz
- 5/5
We liked the ocean view. We did not like the seperate sink outside of the bathroom.
- 3/5
The property is dilapidated and needs some serious funding towards their infrastructure.
- 5/5
Great location love the property and always allowed to bring fur baby
- 3/5
Good Location
- 4/5
Property was nice and within walking distance from the wharf and across the beach. Parking was $35 which was a bummer but it was convenient.
- 5/5
The location is awesome! It’s right across from the beach and has great views. I loved the open guest patio looking right out on the water. My dog loved it and she slept so well in the room. The bed was comfy and the room was spacious. Overall excellent experience!
- 5/5
Beautiful! Definitely coming back! ❤️
- 5/5
This place is a hidden gem if you ask me. The service was great and it is perfectly located. I will visit again and again,
- 5/5
Easy access to wharf, downtown and beach
- 2/5
We were staying with our toddler child. Internet and TV did not work which put a hitch in our nighttime routine. No resolution was ever made. Parking was completely full in both parking lots. One staff member was very friendly, a young male trainee. Another was rude and dismissive. Room was clean. Bed was hard. I received an email from the property requesting that I email them if there were any issues. The email they provided was ———@——.com. We won’t be back.
- 5/5
Location could not even better. Awesome view just by the patio.
- 2/5
This hotel has an amazing location. Outside of that it is not a nice place. It is terribly rundown, extremely loud and no frills. Very overpriced for what you get, which is nothing more than a rundown motel.
- 3/5
Didn't like the location of the room, loud people walking past all night.
- 4/5
While walking to the beach a worker was watering and didn’t stop using the hose as I walked by and I slipped and fell and didn’t ask if I was okay. So not the greatest experience overall.
- 4/5
We had a room off the street. The curtain was dirty, the walls were dirty but the bedsheets and floors were clean. It’s 8/10 on cleanliness. I wouldn’t want to stay more than a night. It’s more for the location.
- 4/5
It was all about the view for us, but the hotel didn’t have a closet because the fridge was in the way. It was a small room and the use of space needed to be thought out. Also, it has the privacy of a motel. The shades didn’t block any light and you could see through them. The shades were also too long and the AC blew the shades up. It was really strange. Everything else was fine.
- 5/5
Great location. Great room. Room was right in the beach. Perfect. Great town to visit
- 5/5
Beautiful hotel great service perfect location
- 5/5
I love this place. Very clean and friendly people.
- 2/5
We checked in and were directed to our room—which was located on the side street next to the hotel. That’s right, on the street! For nearly $400 a night, I was expecting something much more upscale, and instead we were placed in a room with zero security, completely exposed. I went back to the front desk and said we couldn’t stay there. The supervisor told us they couldn’t offer a full refund due to the late check-in time, and since it was already close to 11 PM, we decided it was safer to stay the night and leave first thing in the morning. At around 7 AM, construction noise started blaring—there’s a massive hotel being built right next door. We waited until 9:30 AM to speak with reception, return the keys, and leave. I did get almost a full refund, and I’m grateful for that, but the hotel and the location were a huge disappointment. It was me, my wife, and our 5-year-old daughter—and from there, we decided to head to Santa Monica. That was the best decision we made.
- 5/5
This place is always amazing! Very clean and the staff is super friendly!! 10 out of 10!!
- 4/5
I really wanted to love this property, but there are definitely a few flaws. While the staff wants to be extremely helpful and is very kind, everything is a bit disorganized. While the location can’t be beat, the property is showing its age. Walls are dirty, common areas are dirty. Our room was not what I would consider a clean I would feel comfortable with when it comes to a hotel. Hair was left on the pillows. There was sand on the floor of the room. I understand it is by the beach but we did not go to the beach so I’d expect a thorough cleaning to be done between guest check out and check in. There is also limited parking. We did not want to move our vehicle in the evening for fear we wouldn’t have a place to park when we came back. But let me reiterate- the staff does try and go above and beyond to be helpful.
- 2/5
It is by the beach and walking distance to all the places
- 3/5
When I walked into the room, it smelled like cleaning chemicals, which we assume you know the room would be clean & pristine, especially with the strong fragrance of bleach. The walls looked dirty, especially by the door handle and sink wall. The door to the balcony and the restroom door would get stuck. On several occasions, the bathroom door would not open even after pushing the door . The door would get stuck in the frame. There was a point someone was in the restroom pushing, & someone was outside the restroom having to pull, & even then it was a bit of a struggle. The balcony area had a lot of spider webs The Wi-Fi did not work the entirety of our stay. We stayed three days two nights. The TV would not work consistently and granted we weren’t there to watch TV but when we were in the room, trying to relax the TV wouldn’t always work. The outlet on the table/desk area did not have power going through it. On the last night, the AC did not work. They did inform us that there would be construction going on and that is something to keep note of because our room was right at the edge of the street across from the new apartments being built. there are no elevators so when looking into this location, be very mindful of that because there are a lot of stairs or at least to our room there were. Honestly, felt the price did not match the experience I was expecting.
- 4/5
The beds were very comfortable and the location is perfect. There are other more expensive options, but we felt that the value was spot-on and the kids LOVED it, especially the balcony over the street that looks over the bay and wharf. The restaurant across the street, Iconic, serves great food and a large selection...their cafe is perfect for an early morning departure for your adventures as well.
- 4/5
Great view, it’s too bad la Bahia is built in front of the beach view.
- 5/5
Partial ocean view was great. Could see ocean from bed. Volleyball courts from balcony. The only problem was the poor internet connection. But, Gave 5 stars because of value and location.
- 5/5
Great beach location and spacious rooms!
- 5/5
The hotel was great. Right across from the beach and within walking distance of the warf and the boardwalk.
- 3/5
The property has many great rooms (~70%) and a few bad rooms (~30%). We were assigned street level rooms (bad) with no security features next to 6AM construction noises (construction was not hotel's fault, but still). Killed several bugs in room. Sad, because I love the hotel look and feel. If we had one of the nice rooms, review would all be good/excellent. Staff were responsive and polite.
- 3/5
The rooms were decent for what we needed but would have been nice to know they put us in a room on the street with construction every morning.
- 5/5
the rooms are old but have character. The staff went out of their way to make sure our stay was the best it could be and when we were not happy with the room we booked, they did everything they could to help us find a room that would meet our needs. Additional parking and proximity to the boardwalk and pier help by not having to pay for additional parking on the first and last day of our vacation.
- 2/5
Room was very dirty with black hand prints on the door and walls. We were hesitant to step into the shower with build up on the floor and walls. This was in an upgraded ocean view room. The most expensive hotel on our two week stay up the coast and the most disappointing.
- 5/5
Great place to say
- 4/5
Room was nice and cozy with a great view,
- 4/5
Great location. Good for kids.
- 1/5
If you have a stroller or are handicap do NOT stay here. No elevator. Only tons of stairs or a steep walk way. And to get in the room has a huge step. I normally stay in the dream inn and which was the same price and I shouldn’t have changed the stay. The staff was very friendly and let us borrow some stuff to go to the beach since there wasn’t a pool.
- 4/5
It was very convenient, a short cross over to the beach, boardwalk and the pier!
- 3/5
We arrived for checkin at 5:00pm to find that the lobby was closed with a note that stated staff would be on break until 6:00pm. What hotel schedules breaks right after guest checkin time begins? The parking is very limited as well. We had to pay for street parking until parking on site became available and even then, it was by luck as there are not enough spots available. I booked two separate family suites which were vastly different. One had spacious rooms, while the other was so packed the entry door literally could not open all of the way because the bed was blocking it. The upside to the hotel is it is literally on the beach and a short walk to the wharf and boardwalk.
- 5/5
Great stay very convenient for the area and getting to the beach/boardwalk. Would definitely go again !!
- 4/5
Good overall
- 3/5
Smelled like bleach when we arrived. I opened up the window to air it out but it never went away. Lights on the porch never turn off and some windows were just mini blinds that didn’t shut very well so room wasn’t very dark at night.
- 3/5
Location was fantastic and condition of rooms was good. Service was dismal. Broken vending machine they couldn’t do anything about or offer refunds, someone was rarely at the front desk, and the whole front desk / coffee area / back exit towards the beach was closed down until 8am. Not great for early risers in need of caffeine and a walk!
- 4/5
Good location, clean.
- 5/5
The property is very nice. We love staying here.
- 5/5
LOVE! LOVE! LOVE everything about Casablanca Inn and our stay. Exceeded expectations - especially when it came to traveling with our 15month old German Shepherd. Extremely pet friendly. Property has a fenced inn dog run where our dog could relieve himself as well play fetch. It also had a large court yard with with games for adults where you can bbq and enjoy outdoor dining. The property is across the street from Santa Cruz main beach, Pier, and boardwalk which made morning runs and walks with our dog the highlight of our stay. Our King Room w/ocean view & private balcony was spacious and equipped with everything you need to have a comfortable stay & enjoy a morning coffee on the balcony. We had such a wonderful time that we booked it again for mid September. Thank you Casablanca Inn!
- 5/5
Clean and confortable rooms. Very nearvthe boardwalk
- 5/5
Our stay was great. Everyone was pleasant and helpful. Great location
- 5/5
The room had an amazing view of the wharf, beach and ocean. I loved that there were so many windows and glass areas so I could enjoy while I was in my room. Being right across from the beach, I could hear the peaceful ocean waves the entire stay. There were also patio areas and chairs for viewing also. A great way to enjoy the area when you are away from the crowds and noise. What a great location
- 2/5
The location cannot be beat, but the room I was in was atrocious. It has the dirtiest carpet you'll ever see, no chairs or tables, dirty walls and broken everything. Do not book any rooms in the back building. The ones with ocean view and the front building are nicer.
- 5/5
The staff at the property where very nice and helpful
- 4/5
No staff available at night to enforce hotel noise rules ~ we were surrounded by noisy neighbors. Amenities state continental breakfast but none available.
- 5/5
Enjoyed the stay, thank you
- 1/5
Not worth to pay so much money with no breakfast or snacks
- 5/5
Great
- 5/5
We stay here when we
- 3/5
It was all just okay. Nothing great. Nothing terrible. However, the room looked like the cleaning staff spent maybe 15 minutes at most cleaning. It was not thorough at all.
- 5/5
Staff were all super friendly & helpful. Beautiful views & convenient to everything.
- 1/5
Filthy, filthy, filthy
- 5/5
Very helpful staff
- 3/5
Everything is perfect, location and the room. I was planning to have a late check out because I was planning to work but i had to check out early because there is no wifi.
- 5/5
Nice, large clean rooms. Dog friendly, good location and convenient
- 3/5
The location of this hotel is great, Right across from the beach & warf. We had a room with a shared patio with a partial view, which was nice. I really expected this hotel to be much better for the price we paid. We found our room to not be very clean. Hair on the bathroom floor also on the beds also the room in general was dusty.
- 2/5
We arrived at 1:50 to a sign that said the front desk would be back at 2:15. That is a very long time to not have anyone manning the front desk.
- 5/5
Love
- 5/5
A charming little place with beautiful views and extremely convenient location
- 5/5
I love the view. I love this place.
- 4/5
.
- 5/5
I had an amazing experience during my stay at this hotel! From the moment I arrived, everything was top-notch. The rooms were incredibly clean, spacious, and well-appointed — you can tell attention to detail is a priority here. The beds were super comfortable, and everything felt fresh and modern. One of the best parts was the location — there are tons of activities and attractions nearby, whether you're into shopping, dining, or exploring local sights. It made it easy to keep busy and enjoy the area without needing to go far. The staff was friendly and professional, and the overall atmosphere was welcoming and relaxed. I’d absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area and will definitely be coming back!
- 5/5
I will definitely recommend this place to friends and family
- 5/5
We enjoyed the stay there. The room was a little bigger than a normal hotel room. The bed was super comfortable. I love the Front that you could go out and we had a view of the beach which was wonderful.
- 5/5
Location! Perfect walkable distance to everything—the boardwalk, the beach, the pier. Staff was great. Room was big. Balcony was amazing. Will definitely stay here again!
- 5/5
Staff was great.
- 5/5
This place is amazing.Everything was perfect. From the front desk to our room.We will be coming back for sure.
- 5/5
Perfect location and views!
- 4/5
Great location. Room was clean and had a great view.
- 5/5
unique small feel, great shared balconies, love that they offer late checkout for a fee
- 3/5
The Casablanca is in an excellent location. Walking distance to the beach, wharf and boardwalk. I don’t like that they now charge for parking. For over $400 a night, parking your car should be included. The room was great- it had lots of space and a nice bathroom. There are people on the streets all night making noise so they provide earplugs. Two things I think need improvement- the pillows are awful!!! Get new ones that are flat.. not those hard ball like pillows. The fridge was also loud… it makes a noise all night which also makes it hard to sleep.
- 3/5
There was limited hours of staff on duty. No phone in rooms. Guests were left unattended. Guests were noisy and inconsiderate of others no staff on duty to supervise. No cleaning staff to be seen. It was a free for all.
- 5/5
Had a really great stay at the Casablanca Inn. Spent two nights for my anniversary. You cannot beat the location of this property. Walking distance to the wharf, restaurants, the beach, and the boardwalk. Our room did seem to be on a path to the road which made it a little busy but it was quiet at night so I wasn’t bothered by it. The bed was very firm but comfortable. I would suggest bringing your own pillow if you’re picky about that. The front desk was informative and helpful. Really nice big shower. Nothing bad to say. We would go back.
- 4/5
Pros: Affordability with an ocean facing room...very much appreciated the value aspect. For how cheap the room was, the room was clean. The mattress was comfortable. They give you slippers, which we all enjoyed. The shampoo was actually decent. The service was excellent and there was paid parking, but there were plenty of spaces for guests.
- 3/5
Great location horrible bed!! Could not sleep the entire night!! Very hard and uncomfortable. If it wasn’t for the bed it would have been perfect.
- 5/5
Our stay was decent, the room was small but the view was nice. Staff was pleasant however, it was difficult to reach someone at the desk
- 4/5
Construction across the street.
- 2/5
Only perks about this hotel is the location. Staff is very nice, but for the price the hotel look ran down dirty walls a lot of broken stuff Rust on everything. I highly doubt the sheets were changed from the last guest who stayed there. There is a lot of bugs and there was a lot of wall damage and patches that were not sanded or painted for the price this hotel should be in way better shape. I would rather stay at one of the other locations preferably the Marriott that just got rebuilt the Comfort Inn heck even torch light is a better recommendation. The only reason people stay here is because of the location. I have pictures, but I am unable to upload them on here for some reason the owner of this hotel needs to take all that money that they are charging and invest it in the cleaning up this hotel
- 5/5
Perfect location with views of the pier and the beach, walking distance to shops, restaurants amd attractions. Loved the private balcony with ocean views!
- 4/5
Location, location, location. We were there for the 5k, then boardwalk and beach. Once I parked in the lot, i never moved the car and was able to walk to all of our destinations. That part is amazing. The property is privately owned and won't have many amenities you may be accustomed to, so you should carefully review the website. The rooms are clean but older, there are no stairs, and limited services available. Check in is at 4. The one clerk arrived at 3:45pm to check people in. The rooms are pretty close together so you may want to make friends with your neighbors LOL. The property has lots of terrace space, shared and private, most of it has some ocean view. It's just different. I'm on the fence of whether or not I'd go back, it's a roll of the dice as far as the quality of your room and there is little support once you get in there.
- 5/5
Beautiful, clean and within walking distance of everything
- 5/5
It was great! Staff was very helpful and nice
- 5/5
Nice n clean just the shower water was cold
- 1/5
Check in at 4, she showed up at 5:15
