Reviews
The hotel reviews are mixed, with some guests expressing satisfaction with the cleanliness, location, and staff, while others have significant complaints about hidden fees, poor service, and inaccessibility. Many guests appreciate the hotel's location and the cleanliness of the rooms, but there are recurring issues with parking fees, unavailability of housekeeping services, and problems with room amenities.
- Clean and well-kept rooms
- Convenient location
- Hidden fees, particularly for parking
- Inconsistent service and issues with room amenities
- 3/5
Unfortunately, the room was disappointing. It had a damp smell, and the air conditioning gave the impression that the filters had not been changed in quite some time. Considering the price we paid, we also expected a nicer view, especially of the mountains. Instead, our room overlooked the back parking lot. While the peaceful atmosphere and central location were positives, the condition of the room and lack of a desirable view left us feeling that the stay did not provide the value we expected. Because of that, I would probably choose a different hotel on a future visit.

Staff is allways great and friendly. We allways stay at this property when we are in the area and have never had any isssues with the hotel.
- 5/5
The staff was very nice. The drinks at the bar were great.
- 3/5
Staff was nice and helpful. Mattresses were uncomfortable. One mattress was completely broken down - could feel the springs. Breakfast was okay.
- 5/5
Great hotel.
- 5/5
Parking was plentiful and not costly at all. A lot of greenery surrounding this hotel. Pool is amazing. Showers and faucets provide excellent water pressure. Everything is properly clean and sanitized daily. Great lobby for work or business activities, allowing for an environment where one can work peacefully. Will book again if I visit Santa Cruz in the future.

- 4/5
Location is very convenient to redwoods, state parks, Santa Cruz. Many nice walks are just a few miles away. Room was large, comfortable, functional, but otherwise unexceptional. They charge $18/night for parking which is outrageous considering its location well outside of any urban zone.
- 4/5
The room was clean and had plenty of room. Bed was comfortable. We did not eat at the property. Our big complaint was they charged $18 per day for parking. This is ridiculous because there is no public transportation and they had large areas for parking. A complete money grab by Hilton for no reason. A corporate rip off! We complained but of course they did nothing. Disappointed!!
- 4/5
The hotel was amazing!!! Five stars hands down!!! The only thing that could use some improvement is the breakfast! Other than that AMAZING!! Goodnights rest on a comfy bed!
- 5/5
Very clean and cozy!

- 5/5
The breakfast was great. Although it cost around $25, it was a buffet with unlimited options and plenty of healthy choices. The quality and variety made it well worth the price.
- 2/5
Also, be prepared to pay $18 extra a night for parking. What a racket. This is not included in the price of the room. We ate a disappointing breakfast at the restaurant on site one morning, and then went out the remainder of the time.
- 4/5
Very good
- 3/5
The front desk is understaffed. They had to go get bedding because there was no housekeeping at night. They also charge for parking it seems like trend hotel are charging to stay.

The hotel advertised as "pet friendly," but did not provide an area for dog's potty. I was directed up a hill into a residential area to find a proper location.

- 5/5
Room was comfortable and clean. The lighting was not as bright as I like it. I was able to manage. The food was delicious and hot when brought out to the table. Everyone was really nice from check-in to check-out. Convenient location to all the food restaurants.
- 5/5

- 2/5
No room service. No call pickup. No help correcting parking. No free parking.
- 3/5
Had extra fees I have no clue what for!!
- 4/5
Location and cleanliness. None
- 1/5
-The room smelled like pee, especially the bathroom. -the bathroom sink was stopped up -there was black gunk/mold? on the handheld shower wand, shower was gross -much of the parking lot was sealed off stating special event Thursday-Sat?? I was there Wed-Friday and there was no event -corridor from side entrance had something spilled. Didn’t seem like corridors were cared for but many of the guests use those as they are most accessible from available parking -general disrepair of walls, ceiling, etc in not just the room but hallways as well
- 5/5
The infomation about the hotel said there was a breakfast buffet. There isn't. Parking was pricey and tho our car was registered, I got a parking ticket (which was discharged by staff.)
- 4.5/5
The surroundings were very nice. The hotel staff were very attentive. The rooms are quiet and nice.

Absolutely loved this hotel. It is set in the mountains of Santa Cruz and is beautiful. We checked in late in the evening and because we were only staying one night we were given complementary parking. The rooms were clean, the bed was comfortable, and the staff was amazing. In the morning, I had lost one of my rings in the parking lot. I called the next day and it had been found and turned in. They packed it up and mailed it to me. Next time I hope to stay a couple of days to really enjoy the entire area. I highly recommend.
- 4/5
Clean nice pool and yacuzzy nice bar

- 2/5
The rooms smell moldy. They didn’t clean the room. When I called at 4 pm, they said the staff was unavailable but they could give me towels. Then took over an hour to deliver new towels.
- 5/5
Nice rooms
- 4/5
Room was okay. Fridge is very small. We were disappointed that they hit us with $22 per day for parking especially since the signs in the parking lot read "Park at your own risk" and "unsecured parking area". This hotel is not in town where you would expect that fee.
- 5/5
Yes great but slow

Beautiful hotel and the staff were amazing. Just wished there was some sort sort quick and easy coffee stand in lobby.

Overall, the asthetic of the hotel was nice.

Spacious. Sift linen
- 4/5
This place was fine. It did not feel super elevated for the price but this is an expensive area. Bar was convenient but do not recommend eating at the restaurant. There is an excellent indian place next door that is a far better choice. The hotel was very busy/crowded when we were there which made it less of a nice stay. But overall worked for what we needed. Staff was very nice. As everyone says, the parking is way overpriced. Liked that it was pet friendly.
- 2/5
The air conditioning was extremely noisy. I’ve never experienced such a noise room before.
- 3/5
Very nice hotel, the outside was very peaceful and relaxing. We checked in late and lobby was quiet, hotel looked clean. Our room was nice, we did find a hair in the shower. Our main issue was we were told the gym was on the floor above us, so between 7am and 9am we could hear a lot of noise & banging. It kept us from sleeping in which is what we needed after our long drive! Very disappointed to have to deal with that, thankfully we only had to stay 1 night.
- 5/5
Very clean room, friendly staff
- 5/5
Didn’t have it
- 3/5
Low water pressure in the shower also doesn't get very hot. Room was nice and so is the property. Pool & hot tub pictures are deceiving.
- 5/5
Very clean, nice amenities, bed was comfortable.
- 5/5
Nice lobby and bar area to congregate with family
- 5/5
Great hotel near the boardwalk and a good place to stay to start a road trip through Big Sur
- 4/5
never did understand why hotels charge for parking. Not like if something happens to your car their going to cover the car.
- 1/5
BED BUGS!!!!!! BED BUGS!!!! I woke up at 6 am to see bed bugs crawling in the bed. I got out of the room with all my things as quick as possible, without showering or really getting ready. I took pictures of the bugs before I left. At the desk, the young man working was very apologetic and gave me large trash bags for my bags to keep things from contaminating my car, etc. The front desk said he couldnt issue me a refund for the stay until the manager was not on duty but he would have him call me asap when he arrived in 30 minutes. I skipped my plans for the day and drove the 2 hrs home to deal with decontamination of my things. The manager never called me, so a couple hours later I called the hotel. The manager was frankly rude-didn’t acknowledge my experience and apologize. He said he would need to have housekeeping determine it there were in fact bed bugs and have a professional service come out before they would consider reimbursement. It was like he thought I was lying. I sent him the time and location stamped photos of bed bugs and I got an email back that stated the same thing, with no offer to reimburse my stay. At least in the email there was an apology. Now the hotel is not expensive -only like 225 a night, it’s more a thing of principle. Considering the situation I would have expected my room to be comped and for them to offer to pay for my things to be cleaned. They did nothing. Horrible.
- 5/5
Great service, close to the Boardwalk and other amenities.
- 5/5
Good place and good service , easily accesibl3 and a eatery plaza near by.
- 5/5
Great.
- 2/5
Shower was weak and took forever to get hot. TV control didn’t respond correctly. Internet was was terrible.
- 5/5
It was awesome! Stayed there to play golf in Monterey!
- 3/5
The cleanliness of the room was poor in my opinion. The bathroom walls were dirty with what appeared to be blood and stool. The area around the bathtub had viable water damage that lifted the wall making it look stained and in poor appearance.
- 5/5
Staff (Aurora in particular) were very helpful with recommendations for places to eat and visit during our stay. Thoughtful and very pleasant staff all around. Parking situation was misleading (I chose a rate for free valet parking that turned out not to exist, but this was an Expedia error.)
- 4/5
And the parking was very confusing. When we arrived for check-in we parked in the front and didn’t see any signs about the parking situation. During check in nothing was mentioned about the parking except that where we had parked was ok and that we didn’t need to move our car. Later after coming back from dinner we moved to the back lot closer to our room and saw signs saying that we needed to scan a QR code to pay for parking. Husband went to front desk to ask if it was/wasn’t just part of our bill and was told that bc we were only staying one night that the front desk clerk “took care of it” for us and not to pay online, implying that he comped the fee. In the morning we realized that he couldn’t have done that as he never asked for our car info, and we found a card on our windshield reminding us to register and pay. So we went back to the front desk and the person there said he had no idea why the previous person would have told us not to pay, and that he could/would just add it to our bill at check out. It was about $20 i think. -If we have to pay for parking, why not sure add it to the bill? Why make it another step for the customer. -This particular hotel has PLENTY of parking, and charging separately just seems… greedy? It was a nice stay but we probably won’t return again.
- 5/5
Nice room for my stay
- 2/5
This time breakfast was canceled. Parking requires scanning a barcode, and you have to register an account for WiFi. The bathroom floors were also really dirty. We probably won’t be coming back.
- 3/5
Front office was amazing. Staff in restaurant was terrible and rude. We went for the purchased buffet breakfast and the staff in the restaurant was rude and not friendly. They acted like we were an imposition to help us. The buffet food was cold and old. Buffet closes at 10 am. We went at 9 thinking it would be plenty of time and fresh food. Wrong. The staff was not helpful. The food was not good. Very disappointing. Hotel needs to consider hiring new restaurant staff. They clearly do not care.
- 3/5
Location was amazing. The staff were fantastic. Our big issue was the a/c didn’t work properly. Room felt hot and stuffy. It made it difficult to sleep.
- 5/5
Beautiful property, feels tucked away from the main street. Quiet. Friendly staff at the bar and dining area. Will definitely book again!
- 1/5
I booked a suite the room was nice . But when I got back to my room after dinner the heater didn’t work and it was very cold , I called front desk for assistance and was told that maintenance wouldn’t be in until 9 am the following morning I checked out at 12:00 am and drove 2 hours home very disappointing.
- 2/5
The chef breakfast and Dinner are unparrwl
- 5/5
Great staff, love the embiance!
- 4/5
Hotel is nice. Did not like $18 for parking in a suburban area just off the freeway.
- 5/5
At the Hilton staff was very friendly, especially Abraham who checked us in and was quick to provide us extra towels. We were going to Santa Cruz Boardwalk, was not far from Hotel. Was able to purchase through front desk wristband for rides. Can’t say if you’re getting a deal because we paid $44 per wristband. I remember when they were $29.00 not long ago. Hotel was appealing, inside and out. Hidden within the big pine trees on a hill in Scott’s Valley. Price was fair. It’s Hilton! 6 floors but has separate entrance and parking lot for floors 4-6. Elevator and carts are available. Nice pool, deck and jacuzzi. Has ( from what we saw) a popular bar and grill restaurant. We didn’t get a chance to eat there. Did try a local mom and pop restaurant for breakfast (recommended by Abraham) Heavenly Roadside Cafe. Not far from hotel. Family friendly and breakfast was delicious. Overall our stay was very convenient, comfortable and accommodating for the whole family. We will definitely stay there again next time we swing by the area for a mini vacay or a night stay.
- 2/5
The room was very dirty. The phone was covered in dust and gunk. Same for the remote. I ordered room service, and they were very friendly, but I became violently ill with what I suspect was food poisoning. I was up all night vomiting, and I’m sure I kept neighbors up with the frequent bathroom use. I would not return to this hotel. Overpriced for the $. You also have to pay for parking, but rates aren’t posted, so you find out after you check out what the cost is. The pool is on the small side, same for the hot tub. It was very crowded all weekend.
- 5/5
Food okay
- 3/5
AC did not really keep the room cool. Be aware that parking is managed through a third party company. $300 for a night to find out parking is an additional $30 when you arrive is ridiculous.
- 5/5
Clean room,nice and peaceful.
- 5/5
Clean room , very nice place and
- 5/5
Ok
- 4/5
The place was okay. The pool was closed even when it said it would be open at 8am. The staff were nice. My view from the window was a parking lot. The parking kind of sucks and you have to pay. I had to pay 20 dollars.
- 5/5
Great stay, place is very nice. Definitely recommend and price was perfect.
- 5/5
Every was great, only downside was having to pay for parking...
- 5/5
Enjoyable stay. Rooms were comfortable and the bar area was very social.
- 5/5
The hotel is even better than before! Realized we’ve stayed here several years back, and the hotel has renovated. Its cleaner and the staff are still very nice and professional and helpful. The pool and the fitness center were open which was great.
- 3/5
Love the room just really tired of California policies. Charges for everything. Will not be staying there again
- 4/5
The only thing I would suggest reconsidering is the check-in time. Check-in starts at 3:00 PM and check-out is at 11:00 AM, which makes the stay feel a bit short. An earlier check-in time would make the experience more comfortable for guests, especially for those arriving earlier in the day.
- 1/5
The roll in showers just flood water everywhere. Who ever designed this might be mentally handicapped
- 1/5
Be aware that the door closers are faulty. My hand was slammed in the door because it shut hard instead of closing softly. I reported it immediately and even took photos and video, but no one came to check it and management never followed up as promised.
- 5/5
Clean and the pool area was great
- 3/5
$18 for parking in the mountains with plenty of empty spaces seem unreasonable. shower head rigged to save water, sprays low volume, low pressure. Gap in window screen that allowed bugs to get in. Really loud AC unit.
- 3/5
I've stayed here multiple times and the hotel is typically in better shape than this last visit.
- 3/5
One elevator only, sheets had a couple hairs on it, smelled a bit. Not worth what we paid in my opinion. But the location is great and there is plenty of parking. Don’t eat the breakfast though, it costs $24.
- 4/5
This is our favorite place to stay when we visit our daughter @ Santa Clara University! It’s an easy drive up/down the hill. It’s so quiet, set on a tranquil tree filled hillside. You truly feel and are away from the chaos of the Bay. The only areas that do need improvement are their bathrooms and the lighting in the rooms. Both sub par for that kind of facility.
- 4/5
The hotel was very nice, the night we checked in, the employee was a little rude and didn’t bother explaining anything about the hotel or our stay, wasn’t aware about breakfast vouchers until next day we tried to eat and they said we needed them so we had to get them at reception afterwards. The hotel itself was very beautiful and comfortable to stay at.
- 5/5
Great service
- 3/5
Second thing was that my wife wanted something sweet to eat after dinner. We bought two candies and it was over $7.00! Do they think that everyone is rich. We started to stay a Hiltons, because other hotels were getting bad, as far as cleanest. I guess we won't travel anymore until the economy gets better, but after working in the grocery field, what goes up doesn't always come down .
- 5/5
Eveyone was super nice , welcoming , the room was spacious, clean, enjoyed my time

Staff courteous, good location, but the room had several issues. Greasy tile floor, pilled sheets and hard lumpy pillows.

- 5/5
Clean hotel and and really enjoyed the bar
- 4/5
Friendly staff. Holes in the curtain
- 5/5
Excelente lugar... completamente recomendable.
- 2/5
The parking is terrible. $24 to self park and you have to pay through an app with QR code. You can only get up the property from the ends of the lot you can’t walk up anywhere in the middle, Front desk was meh. Was not greeted as a Hilton honors member. Was not asked any questions or offered any info about property at check in. Did not receive check out bill until after leaving property. When checking out was not asked how the stay was or told about my bill. The sink in the bathroom was leaking.
- 4/5
Bed and pillows were awful. Overall pleased but may not come back
- 5/5
Nice
- 5/5
The staff and surroundings were amazing. The staff was friendly and very responsive to any requests I had. As for the surroundings it was beautiful with tall trees surrounding the property giving you the feeling of being in the forest. Great place to stay.
- 5/5
Loved everything about this hotel. Nothing beat waking up and sitting on the balcony, enveloped in the fog. It was the perfect distance for those who love windy drives. Staff was friendly and super helpful.
- 3/5
Rooms and staff were great. Prices for parking and the restaurant were excessively over priced.
- 5/5
Amiel is always great, and the rooms are always clean.

Staff was awesome and the surrounding forest area was beautiful! Area was super clean too.

- 5/5
Friendly staff and clean room. Will definitely stay here again!
- 4/5
The room was clean and comfortable but we couldnt change the temperature. Overall a good experience.
- 4/5
This Hilton was very nice. The rooms were big and it was super clean. The staff was helpful and friendly. I would definitely stay here again
- 1/5
I couldn't find my confirmation email, so I called the hotel about my reservation before I arrived. They said they couldn't find a reservation under my name and they were fully booked, so I made another hotel reservation. At that hotel, I discovered an Expedia email that said I DID have a reservation. But when I tried to call the hotel to cancel it, I got disconnected 4 times and when I got a person, she said she couldn't hear me clearly. So I'm afraid I will have to pay for that room as well as the other hotel I ended up staying at.
- 5/5
Always a great stay. Clean, professional, and great location. We really enjoyed our holiday!
- 5/5
Great staff. Comfortable accommodations.
- 5/5
It was a clean room, warm and inviting
- 5/5
Wonderful quiet rooms
- 3/5
Room is excellent well clean. Shower excellent pressure, very cozy. Except the bed I give a 0 horrible bedding comfort having a lower back pain from this bedding.
- 5/5
Location was great, close to a lot of restaurants and stores. Love that the property is surrounded by trees. Staff was the best! Quick and easy check-in and check-out. I would 100% come back again!
- 1/5
Multiple room moving problems but staff was kind.
- 5/5
Location was great close to the beach and the Redwoods.
- 5/5
This was one if the nicest and cleanest hotels we have ever stayed at. The staff and service was exceptional. We would stay here again.
- 5/5
Great staff, comfortable room. Enjoyed the stay,
- 5/5
It’s always great to stay at the Hilton Scott’s Valley. I know the grounds are well maintained, the front desk is always pleasant, and the room will be clean. I just wish they would get rid of the parking fee. Nonetheless, I wouldn’t stay anywhere else when visiting Santa Cruz.
- 5/5
We will be be back!
- 2/5
The bed was extremely uncomfortable making it hard to sleep. The rest of the hotel was fine, but given the main purpose for a hotel room is to sleep, I had to ding the hotel for the awful bed.
- 2/5
My wife and I booked two nights. The bed was so hard that neither of us got much sleep the first night, and we both had aches and back pain the next day. We took the loss and ditched the second night.
- 5/5
Habitaciones muy cómodas
- 5/5
We were visiting UCSC so just needed the room to rest and take off to continue exploring. Room was clean and spacious- perfect for my son and me. We knocked out right away- beds were comfy. The outside area looked really nice too- with trees.

Jordan at front desk was friendly and helpful. Room and property were excellent as usual.
- 5/5
Wonderful room, great staff. Made out trip even better.
- 5/5
Staff. Thanks James!
- 5/5
I had a great stay! Front Desk was very warm and welcoming, room was clean, and hotel looks great! Very charming look on the outside as well, looks like a castle :)
- 2/5
The front desk did not ask for auto information. The next morning there was a notice on my car that there was no record of why I was in my parking lot. Now a firm is trying to collect $75 for me being there. That is not going to happen. Kind of like a SCAM.
- 1/5
This property is a disgrace to the Hilton brand - I have been a HHonors member for 30+ years and achieved Diamond status for most of these, but will probably never stay at a Hilton property again unless someone from their corporate office reaches out to me with assurances this will never happen again at a Hilton property.
- 4/5
Nice bar
- 3/5
No parking
- 5/5
The rooms were clean. The staff was professional and it was very peaceful and quiet. I would stay again without 2nd guessing.
- 4/5
The room was amazing and nice and clean. We were allowed to check in early which was such a blessing.Because we had a wedding at three at p m.The shower pressure was wonderful. The only negative I have is a truck took off around five o'clock in the morning and he revived his engine that it seemed like it was right outside of our bedroom window other than that.It was a perfect stay
- 5/5
Very clean comfortable hotel, close to santa cruz beach and the Red Woods. We enjoyed!
- 5/5
Very pleasant stay. Zero negative.
- 5/5
Clean room and lots of space.
- 5/5
There was a little stain on the sofa in our bedroom and minor ring in the toilet but nothing that is a dealbreaker.
- 4/5
There's a $18 @ day parking fee. Its an outside company from hotel
- 5/5
Excellent hotel stay. I just wish that they had the breakfast buffet open during my stay.
- 5/5
Sincerely, The Canyons
- 5/5
Beautiful hotel, excellent customer service! Will definitely be back!

Staff. When we checked in, the staff member realized that we had three rooms on different floors. He moved us close together on the same floor. I appreciated that he noticed that.

Cafe for breakfast. I believe her name was Dawn. She was very attentive to our families.
- 5/5
excellent hotel, brilliant friendly staff, loved the lodge lounge area; nice outdoor pool - only tiny flaw no jets in the hot tub - but otherwise 99%
- 5/5
great experience
- 5/5
Room was very clean. Safe very friendly. My family and I felt safe.
- 4/5
Spacious clean room
- 2/5
1. TV did not work. Called to fix, said they came while we were gone, still did not work. 2. Maids never made up our room or gave us clean towels. 3. No coffee in the lobby unless you pay $4 per cup. 4. They charge for parking $12 per day (no, not valet, when you park yourself.) 5. Not even water to fill our bottles in the lobby the morning we left. 6. No comp bkfst even for Honors members. Bkfst ends up about $20 per person.
- 3/5
When we entered the room it smelled wet and like shoes and sweat. the carpet was dirty and felt wet. the pillows were super used and flat. We had to ask for extra pillows. We stayed for two nights and as much as i understand the water conservation initiatives and towels were not replaced every day atleast the beds should have been made the trash should have been taken. but no next morning when we came back the hotel it was all messy. it was not a pleasurable or comfortable stay at all.
- 4/5
No matter what we changed the thermostat to the air wouldnt get cooler.
- 4/5
Further, we did have an iron mishap but the hotel management did their best to make it right, that was greatly appreciated.
- 5/5
Good
- 3/5
Room was very cold. Came into the room it was around 65 degrees tried to turn the heat up,to about 75 degrees it only went up 1 or 2 degrees hotter in 2 days, no one came into the room and gave us new towels or any toiletries, no room cleaning
- 3/5
When I left their was a ticket on my vehicle I took it to the front desk and they said I had to scan it and pay for parking I stated when I checked in their was no mention of parking fees their was a special area with a sign that said in this area you had to pay so I parked out front with no signs thinking that it was free away from any entrance so I placed the ticket in the the trash being it was not disclosed to me.I also had to go to the front desk to get coffee packs for the second morning of my stay as it did not replaced if you want a better rating these 2 items need to be addressed otherwise I was happy but I like when your dog bites you it's time to shoot it
- 5/5
Wonderful place great room
- 3/5
Our bed destroyed my back. Everyone is very nice

Room was nice and check in was smooth. Staff was friendly at check in. Heater in the room did not work and the toilet barely flushed. When I told the young man at the front desk in the morning about the heater and toilet, he wasn’t professional or courteous. He said he would let someone know when he was doing what he was working. Didn’t seem to be happy to be at work. Got back to the room in the afternoon and the toilet flushed but the heater was still blowing cold air. I let the manager k ow about it and soon after it was blowing warmer but it never got to the set temperature, and it felt very humid in the room. I did not mention it a third time since it was warmer than the night before and we were leaving in the morning. Other than that, the hotel was nice.
- 4/5
Tub out of order. Elevator went out of service.

Parking was quite easy and check in went smoothly. When we arrived it was dark and we were quite tired so upon entering the room, we made haste to get ourselves comfortable, and in bed as our wedding was the very next day. Upon waking up and having the sun shine into the room, we noticed a red dried substance on the wall that looked to be throw up. As we were on a timeframe to get ready for our wedding, we decided to focus on getting ourselves ready and let the staff know. We let the staff know, but as the morning progressed and we continued to ready ourselves, we did notice multiple other spots that had throw up, including inside the cushions of the couch, the bathroom counter and even in the shower and on the wall outside of the shower. Despite the staff being extremely friendly and apologetic about the issue, it still was not something that we were excited or happy about in the slightest, especially given the amount that we paid to stay in a suite. A more minor note, but still inconvenient, with the price we paid, there was no free-continental breakfast as we have experienced at many hotels including other Hiltons. The options for the paid buffet were quite limited and amenities in the room were surprisingly lacking compared to hotels of lower star rating including no bath robes.

Front attendant was rude. Hidden incidental fee was annoying.
- 1/5
Didn’t use. No issues
- 5/5
We genuinely felt loved and cared for; it was a very peaceful, amazing experience and I already look forward to staying there again.
- 4/5
Wonderful place to stay for business. Close to shopping options. Wish the jets worked on the hot tub
- 5/5
Although it was somewhat difficult to get to, our rom was very clean and in great condition.
- 4/5
It was a beautiful hotel; however our room had an odor. Other than that, very clean looking.
- 5/5
I was impressed with the hotel and how nice the property is. We had a great stay.
- 5/5
The pool and hot tub were nice. Breakfast is expensive. We won’t be staying for breakfast.
- 4/5
Friendly staff
- 4/5
It was a great hotel, comfortable beds and space. Only downside was the parking fees. Stayed two nights and charged $40. Other than that breakfast was good and so was service.
- 5/5
The buffet should be discounted for guests. The water was nice but needed to be refilled. The room was clean and comfortable.
- 5/5
Decent stay great price 😃
- 5/5
good hotel
- 5/5
We really enjoyed our stay at the Hilton. The people are nice. The room is clean, and comfortable, and the setting in the trees is peaceful and beautiful. Great place to stay!

When we first arrived, we were checked in early but placed in a room that smelled strongly of mildew. I am currently going through chemotherapy, so staying in that environment for three days was not possible. I went back to the front desk and was moved to another room, but it was still not clean—there was hair all over the bathroom floor and shower, and I had to ask housekeeping to vacuum after we had already unpacked. The beds were extremely uncomfortable. My 12-year-old could feel springs in his back, the mattresses creaked with every movement, and the sheets felt rough and plastic-like. The pool and spa area were also disappointing—the pool was dirty, and the spa jets were broken and not working. On top of all this, every single day I was given a parking ticket despite my parking being prepaid through my reservation. Each day I had to go to the front desk to have it corrected, and at checkout I was still charged an extra $54 for parking. Instead of fixing the charge, the staff simply told me “I’m sorry” and dismissed my concerns.Overall, this was one of the most stressful and uncomfortable hotel stays I’ve ever had. Cleanliness, maintenance, and customer service were all lacking, and I cannot recommend this property.
- 4/5
The shower Pressure could have been more. Other than that, the room was good.
- 5/5
Safe place to take family
- 5/5
Best place I ever stayed in my life I never met so many nice people and just clean smell good great pool and location... Huh devinve thank you Hilton u saved my trip

NA
- 3/5
It was beautiful, but rooms on first floor smelled really moldy. Otherwise clean. Yes, I asked for some type of Febreze or something and they never did it. Very shortstaffed in the restaurants, but they handled it well when people were upset. I would stay again because of location and cost. But I will beg for another floor
- 4/5
staff very good, a nice place to stay easy access our only problem were both mattress's were very worn out or just cheap. not my normal experience at a Hilton neither of us slept well sorry to say!

Clean and comfortable
- 4/5
Staff was very friendly! They were in the process of updating the televisions in the hotel so we unfortunately did not have a working one while we stayed the night. The staff did try and fix it , very promptly. The hot tub was also in the process of getting the jets fixed and weren't working. We still went in the tub but it didn't have the jets. I'm sure this was just a moment in time that we happened to hit at the wrong time. Otherwise, very pleased.
- 3/5
It was a nice location, near good shopping and some decent dining.
- 2/5
The sort of property that looks fantastic on paper, but... Built in 1999. Refinanced in 2005, Bank assumed control in 2009. Renovation in 2017, Foreclosure sale in 2019. That explains the "deferred maintenance" items we spotted: bubbling paint in corners of the room, water damaged door trim in the bathroom. None of the doors fit correctly. the room entry door wouldn't positively engage the lock with the self-close mechanism without assistance. Closet rod mislocated so hangers hit the door if you actually push it all the way shut. The way the room software assigns rooms feels like it prioritizes HR cost for cleaning staff over guest experience. Paid a premium for a room with a balcony - a balcony which opened onto...the central parking lot between the two wings of the hotel! The *STAFF* was amazing - we wound up checking out early (forfeiting 2 nights of no-refund prepaid stay in the process) - when we mentioned we were checking out, they fell over themselves with concern, which I appreciated. Looks *great* on paper, but the Santa Cruz Sentinel has a story from 2018 that says it's owned by "LNR Partners" and they're clearly doing the "Late Stage Capitalsm" thing and not putting a single extra penny into ensuring the hotel is maintained at the level you'd expect from a Hilton.
- 4/5
We slept well.
- 2/5
terrible view from balcony. Had to pay $18 per day to park at hotel. Lots of stains on couch. very poor lighting. No refill on coffee for next day. View on line was beautiful. Our balcony was 4 feet from parked cars Will stay at Air B & B next time.
- 5/5
Clean room, pet friendly nice staff
- 5/5
Would stay here everyone
- 3/5
The did not clean the room
- 4/5
Room was spacious and comfortable. The grounds were not too pleasing.
- 4/5
Everything was fine, very nice and clean rooms, there was variety at breakfast. But parking is not included, there’s a $25 parking fee, it’s probably typical in the area it just surprised me because it said parking available, I mis interpreted to mean free parking.
- 5/5
Clean, relaxing room and very friendly staff. I really enjoyed my stay and would definitely come back.
- 5/5
Great property quiet and convenient to the main highway. Beautiful staircase going up to the rooms there was an elevator but the stairs were too cool to pass up. The rooms were clean and spacious. Beds were comfortable and shower was great.
- 4/5
This place is a great spot near the beach. Beds are comfy the toilets are low. Easy check in. Wish breakfast was complimentary for the breakfast
- 2/5
On the plus side, room was huge.
- 5/5
We always love it here!
- 3/5
The extra $18 parking per night was not disclosed anywhere on the website nor by staff when I checked in! Isn't that being dishonest on the price? The rooms are over priced! Come on 2 nights total over $550 and they didn't even service the room after the first night!! Seriously what is wrong with corporate America which also axed the morning coffee bar that was there a few years back!! Cheap service high price. I don't have a favorable impression of this hotel.
- 5/5
Convenient location.
- 3/5
I returned here after an AMAZING stay last time. I think my expectations were too high? We were in a non smoking room but our neighbors never left their balcony and smoked cigarettes and weed the whole 4 days. The room smelled stale but we couldnt open the slider door because the neighbors filled our room with smoke. The pool maintenance man yelled at my son for trying to catch a beetle, was just so rude. I had to call front desk 2x for some extra coffee for our room, she explained they were understaffed, totally understand! The room was visibly dirty, bathroom smelled like mold. It just felt a bit run down. The staff (pool maint guy excluded) were all so kind and helpful. Definitely didnt want to complain and get the average joes in trouble. Id probably stay here again but Id inspect my room before I committed.
- 2/5
Our room smelled, we had to run and grab room spray, the couch and chairs were dirty. We asked for a roll away bed 3 times before we got one. Just overLl not satisfied with the price we paid for what we got.
- 5/5
Great location, beautiful building
- 4/5
Very pretty property. Very clean. Was missing a sliding door for balcony spa jets not working so water was grimy.
- 3/5
It was a beautiful property my room was nice but there was no instructions in the form of pamphlets on how to use the TV or the air conditioning. I called once to ask someone to come show me how to use the air conditioner no one came in 45 minutes no one came so I called again and they did come the pillows on the bed were like Old Flower sacks. Outside my bedroom window was a cement wall. It was quiet and nice otherwise we were so floored to find out that the breakfast was not complimentary and was in fact $26 each
- 5/5
I have stayed here a few times. It’s beautiful, clean, and the hotel staff is wonderful.
- 5/5
Very helpful front desk. Check-in was a breeze. Clean and comfortable room.
- 5/5
I would highly recommend this hotel! The location is wonderful easy access to and from the highway. Also, staff and the entire environment were outstanding!
- 5/5
Every thing was awesome ❤️
- 4/5
Great facility, nice staff, convenient. Clean rooms, overall good feeling and rested. Only issue was noise from above. Heavy foot steps.
- 5/5
Everything was amazing!! We enjoyed our stay and plan to be back! Staff was friendly, room was clean, and the pool was awesome! I was not told about parking the first night, but was able to pay with a QR code in the parking lot.
- 4/5
This was a quaint hotel, tucked away in the hills of Santa Cruz. The fitness center was clean, the pool was heated and the rooms were nice. My only complaint would be there was only one small elevator and I would have loved some fresh coffee for guests in the lobby. There’s a nice coffee shop with a cute name called Brewed Awakening across the street.
- 5/5
Great place located a short drive from Santa Cruz. Staff was extremely competent and courteous.
- 4/5
Very nice it has a hot tub. And very close to Santa Cruz.
- 2/5
The restaurant food was excellent. The beds were very comfortable. But the room was never serviced in the three days I stayed. Had to go to the lobby in order to get supplies. When we told management about the room smelling like smoke. The response was that it was a no smoking room.
- 4/5
Also need explanation on what to do with parking notices.
- 4/5
The amenities are just okay, the pool was very crowded, not sure if all of the people were actual guests of the hotel. I chose this hotel for the pool. 99% of the hotels I stay in provide free coffee in the lobby, this hotel charges you. Also, paying for parking and receiving notes on my car everyday (even though I registered with the 3rd party app), was a bit annoying.
- 5/5
Such a nice hotel that we’ll come back to for sure. Check out the Santa Cruz boardwalk if you’re coming with kids.
- 3/5
The staff was very friendly. It was a safe and secure hotel. The pool was lovely and the lobby was beautiful. I liked the location. The parking was great. Unfortunately our room wasn't very clean and the telephone didn't work. The dinning experience wasn't worth the price but there are a lot of dinning options in the area. Overall it was a safe a quiet place to stay.
- 5/5
We had a great breakfast in the hotel which was reasonably priced. Check in was smooth and the staff were very helpful and pleasant. Our only complaint was that our room was not made up after the first night, prior to our second night. The staff knocked on the door to do the room, and we said we needed 5 minutes to get out for them to to the cleaning. We went away for 45 minutes, but upon our return the room had not been made up which was a disappointment as we afforded them plenty of time to clean it and make up the bed, change towels etc. Other than that, we enjoyed our stay, and would definitely stay there again.
- 5/5
The property itself is in a prime location. Worth the stay. Peaceful and quiet.
- 4/5
Great place to stay and within easy reach of Santa Cruz and West Coast. Easy drive to San Francisco if you are not in a hurry - traffic can be in predictable.
- 3/5
Cobwebs hanging from the ceiling in our room.
- 3/5
For my was fine
- 5/5
Nice rooms and good bar/restaurant
- 5/5
Everything was great, and it was very quiet.
- 5/5
The property was very clean and the room was far beyond my expectations. It was allot nicer than I thought it would be. The only thing I didn't like was the pull out couch didn't have a great mattress.
- 2/5
They didn’t supply bedding for the pullout bed and we asked twice. Paid a lot money for a suite and one of us had no bedding.
- 5/5
Great Hotel. We booked 2 rooms and the room is spacious, quiet. The pool is great too.
- 5/5
It was a nice place to stay with family. Close to everything but also tucked away. Parking is $18 a night in addition but other than that we enjoyed our stayed.
- 3/5
Pool was nice, bottom of hot tub dirty and full of flies I fished out, moldy smelling room.
- 5/5
Great as usual. Amiel was helpful. Still don’t agree about paying for parking.
- 5/5
Property was great as usual. Staff, Amiel, was friendly. Still don’t agree with paying for parking though.
- 4/5
The room was great! Spacious, large tv, bathroom was set far off from the bed space so private and comfortable. We’d been on a long road trip so comfort, good AC and a quiet space was perfect. We did eat at the grill downstairs and the service was great (they were understaffed and really gave great effort) but the food was overpriced for what was offered. I’d definitely eat elsewhere.
- 5/5
The front desk staff were friendly and knowledgeable. We are repeat customers and highly recommend this hotel to our friends. Keep up the good work!
- 5/5
Clean, good staff, nice breakfast and dinner options
- 5/5
Friendly and supporive staffs.
- 4/5
The place was nice and clean. I didn’t like that housekeeping did not come freshen up our room or bring us extra coffee because we drank all of the coffee the first morning. I called the front desk the night before and asked them to bring us some coffee they said they would and they did not. So the next morning I called again and I had to go to the front desk to get the coffee and my pajamas, which was a little annoying. Other than that it was a nice place but I don’t feel very taken care of while we were there like you would expect from a Hilton Hotel. I also didn’t like paying $20 a night for parking. Pool was nice, but they were always out of pool towels. It was a convenient location away from the hustle near the boardwalk, but close enough to get there easily. It has a nice gym. Easy access to food and groceries too. I would recommend and hope that housekeeping would do better.
- 5/5
Beautiful grounds with Santa Cruz just down the highway
- 4/5
It's very pretty
- 4/5
I wish there was a complimentary breakfast but other than that it was good !
- 5/5
My second time staying at this hotel, I will always return. Room was huge, respectful employees, great ambiance, and very clean.
- 5/5
I recommend
- 4/5
Price was fair - the shower curtain was torn at the garments. Tile on floor/corner chipped - wall by sliding glass door looked like someone threw a drink and it did not get cleaned up. Bed was hard - otherwise clean. Staff were very friendly and kind. Having to pay for parking was a disappointment.
- 5/5
Breakfast buffet was way overpriced for a breakfast that was not even as good as most complementary breakfasts
- 3/5
Hotel was clean but we did not get housekeeping service which hilton says every member gets it daily as complimentary which is not true. Will have to rethink our next trip to any hilton.
- 5/5
Great quiet place to stay with young family.
- 2/5
Great Area. Unfortunately for us, the shower had the worst water pressure. Barley came out. Our toilet wouldn’t flush. When it did it would take 30 mins for water to go back down. Room 560 needs a lot of fixing.
- 1/5
Pulled bed sheets back and what did I see. Yesterday’s hair in the bed. So, I pulled cover back and slept on top.
- 4/5
We were offered a 50 dollar credit to use which was nice but we heard (SEVERAL) times how short staffed and busy they were. Unprofessional. The client doesn’t care. The 2nd night, we had no hot water in the showers. That was fun. Positives…… Dave in the bar and overall service. Seems contradictory but you had to experience it to understand.
- 4/5
The location of this place was perfect. It is close to the state park, and close to the Redwoods. Rooms were a little outdated.
- 3/5
Very average, boiler broke down no hot water in the hotel on our last day.
- 3/5
Limited options in the area. I thought Hilton would be a great option. I had to pay for parking, even when staying at the hotel, but this is not mentioned anywhere during booking. I reserved a king room with a balcony. What I got was a king room with a patio. Hey Hilton, a balcony is an outside platform above the ground. A patio is an outside area at ground level.
- 5/5
Overall a great place to stay
- 5/5
We had the best experience! The food was great the bartenders were great! We hung out in the pool and loved the ambiance!
- 3/5
Nice location...rooms and hallways are dirty.
- 2/5
Upon checking, the concierge was not very friendly. There were a lot of construction workers staying at the hotel. There were no perks and no amenities. The facility was run down. For the same price, we could have stayed at the autograph in Santa Cruz, which is much nicer and much more family. Friendly atmosphere I was quite surprised that this was actually a hilton.
- 5/5
I loved my stay there! The hotel is beautiful with trees around. Staff were friendly!
- 5/5
It’s so nice and peaceful here. It’s our favorite place to book whenever we’re in town.
- 3/5
Didn’t have daily room cleaning! We stayed for 4 nights and had our room cleaned 1 day, out of 4! Had to call to get clean towels and wash cloths on the non cleaned days! Couldn’t believe this was supposed to be a Hilton!
- 2/5
Rooms really musty and smell. Feels like 1970s. Very delapidated restaurant and basic coffee in the morning. They also now charge for everything. Parking used to be free. Wifi and water too. They now charge for everything.
- 4/5
Clean, nice pool and friendly staff.
- 3/5
The view was nice. The room however stunk like greasy fried shrimp that hovered in the air. Turned in the AC with the door open to dissipate the odor. Slept all night with the slider open as the smell was overwhelming. Attempted to change rooms but it was too much with 95 year old. Brought to hotels attention first night and they sent housekeeping with spray bottle. Didn’t last. Hotel needs to compensate for at least 1 night. Thx
- 4/5
Lovely atmosphere, fantastic location.
- 5/5
Excellent location and friendly staff!
- 5/5
Nice hotel to stay when visiting Santa Cruz area. The hotel is conveniently located close to freeway, it is easy to get to town. The hotel has an outdoor heated pool and hot tub. The room is spacious and clean. Highly recommended and will definitely go back to stay there again for future visits.
