Reviews
The hotel is generally well-liked for its proximity to the beach and friendly staff. However, some guests have expressed dissatisfaction with the cleanliness of the rooms and the quality of the breakfast provided.
- Close to the beach
- Friendly staff
- Rooms not always clean
- Breakfast quality could be improved
- 5/5
Staff was very friendly, pack a sweater or two
- 4/5
No internet at all
- 5/5
This property is very quiet and relaxing.
- 3/5
Place is nice and clean. The beach access is really nasty but otherwise place is great
- 5/5
I had a lovely 2 nights for a short getaway from regular life. The cottages were as described & perfect for me. Very clean property and helpful staff. Bonus grab & go breakfast! I very much enjoyed the quiet beach at the end of the path from the hotel. Hidden gem!
- 5/5
The location was perfect walking distance to the beach and not overly crowded. Beautiful view
- 4/5
Our unit didn't have a smoke detector, one kitchen cabinet door wouldn't close and the toilet seat was not the right fit/shape - oval seat place on a round toilet bowl. There was a veryy partial ocean view from one of the windows. Parking was tricky. Pet friendly though and comfortable bed.
- 5/5
Ocean view from the deck was awesome. Bed was comfortable & was very quiet. Beach was a block away Shower was nice, but could have had more water pressure. No other issues
- 5/5
The location was perfect. Felt like you had your own little beach oasis. The set up outside is wonderful. I will be returning to stay with family. I probably had the worse room on the property but only two rooms were available at the time of my booking. I was traveling solo so the room was fine but the pictures on booking.com were deceiving. Parking was not the best.
- 5/5
Can’t wait to come back!! Dog friendly
- 5/5
Great location, Staff and Property is excellent.
- 5/5
Charming in every way
- 5/5
This Inn was perfect! It had access to a beach however we were not able to enjoy it due to a rain storm the night of our stay. We did however walk over after checkout after the rain finally stopped and it was quite nice and private. I was surprised how exceptionally clean our room was. Immaculate- more than 5 star rated hotels (and we travel a lot!). The room was cozy. The bed was comfortable however the pillows can use an upgrade for comfort. We stayed in room 7. The walls were a little thin but I find that common everywhere now so that didn’t really bother us since our neighbors were rather quiet and respectful. Monica greeted me upon check in with a beautiful smile. She was so attentive and gave me a tour around the property. She asked if we were celebrating anything special and I shared we in fact were celebrating our 28th anniversary. She was so kind to leave some cut flowers in a vase outside our door. The grab and go breakfast was great. There was fresh fruit, chobaniI yogurt and croissants among at other goodies. We will definitely return. The area felt safe and secure. Thank you Monica and staff.
- 5/5
It was wonderful!!
- 4/5
Good location -Our upstairs room did not have a bathroom so we had to go downstairs every time. Coffee maker did not have a long enough plug to plug in the wall, so we had to move it to on top of refrigerator to plug in and make it work. - toilet was leaking and would make loud noise once in a while.
- 4/5
Staff are very accommodating and nice. We checked in after hours and they made sure we could get in our cottage with no problems. Very close to the beach. Clean room but need to upgrade cooking wares. Our family enjoyed the place and very close to boardwalk and restaurants.
- 5/5
The front desk was really nice and accommodating. It is super close to the beach and is dog friendly and near restaurants and stores. Great location! Parking was not an issue, and even gave a little breakfast in the morning. Also provided amenities for the dogs which was nice little treat. They have bon fire packages too which is cool. Had a bbq and little patios to sit outside to use. Full mini kitchen. Beds were super comfy! Nothing, we loved it and already planning another trip to come back and stay longer!
- 5/5
This was such a peaceful and cozy place to stay. I felt right at home and didn't want to leave. To be honest. :) Thank you for the wonderful stay!
- 5/5
The closeness to the ocean.
- 3/5
Tbh for the prices I think they need a little updating in the room. Mostly cosmetic a few things could have used updating. Staff seem like they are very hardworking
- 5/5
Beach is just a very short walk from the property. Sunset view from the deck was beautiful. Also close to Capitola Village and Santa Cruz. Very peaceful and calming here!
- 5/5
Nice room, Monica was very friendly. Good experience.
- 4/5
Very close to a private beach with direct access with a 2 minute walk. The rooms were updated and had ocean views.
- 5/5
Very cute, quaint, and, serene place to stay
- 5/5
Clean
- 5/5
Beautiful stay, great location, clean cottages and accommodating staff!
- 4.5/5
The bed was pretty stiff. Maybe too stiff.
- 3/5
first room was not in good condition--very bad odor from cleaning supplies. second room only marginally better
- 4/5
Beach thats is a few steps away is small more like a cove
- 2/5
The continental breakfast which so well advertised it more like motel 6 breakfast. On the first day it was not even open until 8:30 am. After first day we didn’t bother to go to breakfast
- 3/5
Room, amenities
- 5/5
The location is great. Down the short path to Sunny Cove beach. Very small but popular beach. During winter months beach is not all that accessible at times. Our view from the hotel was great. The room looked like it had been remodelled recently. Small breakfast of a grab and go variety but enough and good. There is also a Starbucks on the corner if interested in more. Definitely recommend.
- 3.5/5
clean comfortable I made the mistake of leaving a phone charger and phone cable in the room. I called to ask whether anyone had found it and received no response. I had to call a second time and still received no response. I assume it was lost or taken. It was my fault for loosing it, but I fell like there was near zero support for trying to retreve the charger.
- 5/5
Room was great. Loved how close it was to the beach.
- 5/5
Several dead birds at beach access and the he beach access once entering the beach area was flooded so it was tricky getting to the beach
- 4/5
Nice staff and attractive rooms. It was a little pricey but we like the location. It’s pet friendly but at a pretty high price that we didn’t realize when booking. We stayed because of the location but couldn’t walk right down to the beach because you had to wade through water with at least 5 dead birds floating in it.
- 1/5
The stay over all was terrible, first I had notified hotel that I will be arriving late, upon arriving there is no staff on site, I was able to access the key to the room with no directions or map to where the room is how to access it, I spent over an hour looking for the room at midnight. Then once in, the room was freezing cold, heater turned on but felt no difference even in the morning, then it said my stay included a continental breakfast. It was the worst thing over ever seen, there was literally a few bananas, apples, some juice and coffee. There was a toaster with no bread. There was a bagel but the toaster didn’t work. So we weren’t able to get any breakfast there, basically my whole reason for the stay was breakfast because of my 2 year old daughter. And there was no view of the ocean, there were people outside doing fireworks at 1am.
- 2/5
It was near the private beach. Front staff is nice. Well, for one I thought the room would be bigger considering it said 2 twins. I walked in and it ended up being a trundle. So you can’t really hang out in the living room area cause it’s actually just the room. So we had to hang out the patio most of our stay. Two, it says room has sea view but barely. Once you sit on a chair you can’t see the view anymore. Thirdly i’m all about cleanliness. I had a dirty used sponge in the kitchen next to a halfway dish soap bottle. One toilet paper on the roll, no extras, I had to ask. I asked for service to clean the place, replace my sheets and blankets, when we came back to our room the bed was made but there were stains like signs of use. So seems like either blankets were dirty or used the same ones used the night before. Also, we cooked in the kitchen but the alarm kept going off, it was too sensitive with very little smoke. That was annoying to hear the alarm every single time. Breakfast is not what you think it is, just bagels, muffins, the basics and coffee that got me sick most of the day. I really wanted to love this place even if it was pricey , I expected more due to cost. But it is not worth the price on weekends. The bad out weighed the good.
- 5/5
Location and friendly staff. Depending on location within the facility, WiFi can get loose access to the Internet.
- 5/5
Room, staff, location, breakfast! No negative comments here. Just a great find and a lovely stay.
- 2/5
Not clean, really small. Expected 2 separate beds but ended up being underneath the bed. Blankets weren’t clean.
- 5/5
All-around wonderful experience! The location is great, the rooms are clean and well-designed (and quiet!) and the bed was super comfy. Be sure to go to Cole's BBQ for some ribs. I will be back!
- 5/5
Manager Debbie was great! Helpful and accommodating!
- 4/5
nice room clean cozy and character!
- 4/5
Great rooms and awesome staff. It has a very comfortable unique feel
- 4.5/5
This hotel was super close to the beach, great vibes all around, and the room was spacious. The shower had pump shampoo, conditioner, and bodywash instead of mini bottles which I always appreciate. Notably, the bed was very comfortable. Everything felt clean and the staff were super welcoming and accomodating. I would absolutely stay here again and recommend it to other people visiting the area! The breakfast was very lite, but it is free, so we get it. My husband needed heartier so we ended up eating out every morning. Also, of note, it's an older house and it made some noises in the night (if you're staying in the main house, not the cottages). The first night I was woken up by the heater and fridge making noises, but my husband slept right through it. Some plain foam earplugs did the trick and I slept like a baby. Nothing crazy, but if you're a super light sleeper like me, come prepared.
- 5/5
Close to the beach. Friendly staff, quiet. Miss continental breakfast. Parking good. TV picture not so great. Hot water. Not sure
- 3/5
Beach is not accessible. Cottage is a lot smaller than advertised in photos. It's very pet friendly. Staff is welcoming and professional.
- 4/5
Would give it a4.5, actually. Rooms are spacious, with a kitchen, and they are spotless though a bit sterile. Location was good for us, as we wanted to be near pleasure point. It’s a little bit far from town, but quiet. Sunny Cove is a block away. Manager was friendly, but the person who checked us in was cold and business like. Breakfast was OK.
- 5/5
Great stay!
- 5/5
Cute cottage stay for my dog and me. Friendly and helpful staff. So close to the beach, perfect for many dog walks. Great breakfast and patio with beach views. Loved hearing the crashing waves overnight.
- 5/5
Very clean and comfortable. Staff friendly and helpful.
- 5/5
Super cute, perfect location, and friendly staff.
- 5/5
Great place to get away
- 5/5
Great staff. Beatiful stay :)
- 5/5
The small cove and Beach were lovely. The unit was clean and had a small kitchen no area to sit inside but there is was a table outside. Some rooms have access to a nice deck and yard. Our room was pet friendly and probably one of the smaller units. There were some bushes on the neighboring property that obstructed our direct view to the beach would be nice if they could negotiate those being trimmed for a better view.
- 5/5
It's been around for a while - so do expect "new and modern" ;)
- 4/5
There wasn’t a direct view of the beach however a very short walk down the street provided views. There is also no direct access to get to the beach. There is an area of water right at the end of the street but its storm drain run off. The beach is a little further but no way to access it unless you go a street over. The room was clean, as was the kitchen area and bathroom. My only complaints are that other people staying at Ocean Echo were loud and so were others at nearby houses. It’s a hilly area so the sound reverberates off the hill and houses. There is a main parking area and then other spots for cottages in the back. The parking spots in the back are super close to the rooms which added to noise and a degree of a lack of privacy. Loud tenants and neighbors aside, it was fine. I think that area might have a few Air B&B or Verbo so people staying at those houses were hanging out outside and being loud at night. Maybe would have enjoyed it more if more courteous people would have been staying at those places as well as at Ocean Echo. I didn’t appreciate getting woken up before 7 AM from people talking in a regular volume outside of my room loading up their car.
- 3/5
If you are sensitive to smells, the cleaning solution they use in the rooms is really bad and likely toxic. Front desk Service by text is great and response time very quick. Watch out for hidden charges—I requested an early check in and was not told there would be a charge for that yet the $39 charge appeared on my card. Still waiting on a response from management. Despite this, I would return. It’s a sweet location.
- 5/5
We had the king room that allows dogs (room 16) but didn’t get much sleep. When people walked above it was very noisy, the bed was too soft and they would not allow dogs on the furniture, so our dog was constantly waking us up. Great resort, just recommend you avoid room 16 and it is not suitable for a dog if they are used to being on the furniture.
- 5/5
Captains Quarters Room !!! Definitely recommend !
- 5/5
Last minute booking on our 10 day trip. Such a cute place! Staff was very friendly, loved that wye had a kitchen since we had food because we were supposed to camp for 2 nights. Would definitely book again if in the area.
- 4/5
We stay regularly due to easy pet policy. Clean, friendly. No ocean view but a quick little walk down the road to the beach
- 5/5
Honestly the staff and homey feel was the best! I came for a work trip but would love to stay again
- 5/5
I wanted a room away from the hussle and bussle of most other Santa Cruz hotels and found Ocean Echo. What a find. Situated in a lovely, quiet neighborhood next to the beach. We stayed in the Captain's Quarters, which was more pricey than I'm usually willing to spend but it was worth it for the occasion and amenities. Spacious, clean, and very comfortable. We loved having our own private deck with great view of Sunny Cove Beach and sleeping peacefully with the sliding door open. Staff were friendly and helpful. Nice breakfast as well, which we enjoyed on our deck. Will be my go-to spot for future Santa Cruz stays.
- 5/5
Wonderful stay! Beach access was almost like a private access point. So beautiful and easy. The foot washing station was thoughtful and perfect too! Love this hidden gem 💕
- 5/5
..
- 5/5
Great little place and you get to hear the ocean from your room. The little cottages are charming and mine had a small kitchenette. The room was spotless and comfortable. I liked hearing the water from the very close beach. Just walk down some stairs and a few feet down the street, and you're at a great little beach. I hope to visit again!!! Thank you
- 5/5
Beautiful property, well maintained. The staff is wonderful, and the check in and check out was easy from start to finish. I would most definitely stay here again
- 3/5
Friendly staff, good location, building look remodeled with thick white paint, only concern is I had stains in my carpet from previous customers, I tried to use the hairdryer and I say it starting to spark so I had to turn it off and air dry. The grill was a nice touch but only 3/4 flames worked and felt a little grossed out by the bottom of the grill. Lastly I loved the tub that came in our cottage but because of the moisture from the ocean we found 2 little mushrooms growing behind the toilet which was a surprise.
- 5/5
Enjoyed a night here with the sound of waves, clean room , easy walk to beach and dog friendly
- 5/5
The cottage was clean and plenty of space for my son and I. Walked down to Sunny Cove to enjoy my coffee with the sound of the waves
- 5/5
We truly enjoyed our stay. Samantha and Deb were both super friendly and helpful. We got some good local eating recommendations from them both. It was quiet and peaceful in our room, and the cove at the end of the street was a lovely local beach that allows dogs.
- 5/5
Excellent stay! We would definitely return!
- 5/5
Loved my stay at Ocean Echo Inn! Steps from Sunny Cove Beach, cozy and clean rooms, and super friendly staff. Perfect for a quiet, relaxing trip, yet close to Santa Cruz attractions. Breakfast is simple, but the unbeatable location and laid-back vibe make it a gem.
- 5/5
It is on the beach called by the locals "The Cove". It's an older property, but very well maintained, and very clean. Each room and cottage has it's own door to the outside. The staff is great and eager to please; they immediately address any concerns or issues you have. Lots of good restaurants in Santa Cruz, and several beaches near by. It is now my Santa Cruz hotel of preference The bed was too soft for my taste.
- 5/5
Amazing experience, the staff was amazing. I definitely will come back
- 5/5
One of our favorite places😊
- 5/5
It was amazing. Deb was great and showed us around the property .
- 5/5
Excellent stay cannot wait to go back
- 5/5
I liked that the property was within 2 minutes walk to a small and beautiful beach, was 7 minutes drive from Capitola where there are great dining options, shoppings, beaches and views. I liked the friendliness of the staff, the quiet environment, the easy parking, and the option of a continental breakfast. I highly recommend the place.
- 5/5
Location was perfect. Deb was awesome walked us around made conversation and over all just a great lady.
- 5/5
Dog friendly
- 5/5
We love coming here year after year. Found online and by accident, but has become one of our favorite places to look forward to visiting year after year. Private Beach, perfect location close to everything, pet-friendly rooms and great friendly service, can't ask for more.
- 5/5
Incredible location…so close to the most beautiful beach, super friendly staff, amazing Italian restaurant within walking distance. Absolute gem of a place!
- 5/5
Was a really cool and chill and Santa Cruz experience. The room was so nice and comfortable, and the walk to the beach with a cup of coffee in hand in the morning was the best thing ever!
- 5/5
Always love staying here. So close to the ocean.
- 5/5
It’s was a very nice, clean, cute place! 2 min to walk to the beach! Nice balcony with a big gas grill.. can hear the waves crashing as you sleep! Very pleased!
- 3/5
I like the location. Room 7 was tiny. The Queen bed was the smallest queen bed I’ve ever seen, and it was not comfy at all.
- 4/5
Excellent service and checking process. Very clean, quiet and great ocean view from the guest patio areas. Bedding is not that comfortable though.
- 5/5
Location and friendly staff
- 5/5
Its was an amazing stay, have to bring family next time. Very close to the beach, everyone was very friendly and nice. Dog friendly and family friendly. Very clean room with all amenities. Breakfast in the morning is a plus.
- 5/5
This place is really cute and it’s very close to a little beach. We stayed in room 10, which is a lil cottage with a yard. Very cool. The only thing I would say is a negative is that our coffee maker didn’t work-well, it worked if u plug it in on top of the fridge and hold the carafe up so coffee can drip out lol. Pretty minor inconvenience since starbucks is across the street.
- 5/5
Staff was friendly & nice. Place was charming & clean. Just loved it. can’t wait to go back & I recommended it to several of my friends who are planning to go down to Santa Cruz.
- 1/5
The place had no shower or the beds they said the pictures are on the site are not what the hotel looks like I didn’t stay there
- 1/5
The room was disgusting. Dirty & gross.
- 5/5
It is a short walk to the beach. Will come back for sure
- 5/5
My husband and I loved our stay, it was so close to the beach, super cozy, clean, and they had everything you needed! Loved it can’t wait to go back!
- 3/5
Tub was dirty old and rusty. Room smelled musty.
- 4/5
This place was an excellent getaway location for my husband and I for a long weekend in Santa Cruz. The staff was so welcoming and accommodating, the room was beautiful with an incredible view, and the location can't be beat. If I had to complain about anything, the soundproofing wasn't super great and we had a neighbor that took showers at weird hours that we could hear loudly from our bed, but we had a fabulous time anyway. Would definitely recommend and stay again.
- 5/5
They are wonderful. Samantha was excellent and so kind. The location can’t be beat. A great staycation spot for locals.
- 5/5
Short walk to the beach cove
- 5/5
Nice pretty place!
- 5/5
Second time staying here. I love the location and love the studio units with kitchens. We stayed in #11 this time, no kitchen (my choice). Rooms were great and comfy. Alas, though this room is above the breakfast room so it was noisy on Sunday morning. Breakfast could be so much better - better quality foods, more protein options. But I'll be back! Thx
- 3/5
Not worth the money.
- 3/5
Great location. Bedding was uncomfortable. Small portable heater in room. Not able to heat entire cabin. Couldn’t sleep.
- 5/5
Cute, Unique, small inn, steps from the beach. Older property but very well maintained. Staff were friendly and helpful. We stayed in the water tower cottage. Loved the fenced yard and patio. Great for my dog to have a safe place to hang out. Would definitely stay there again.
- 5/5
2nd time staying and will defiantly be going back.
- 4/5
Inn nicely located within a stone's throw of the beach, and within walking distance of a few restaurants and shops. Its name reflects that one can hear the waves coming onto the shore.
- 5/5
Lovely cottage style hotel right next to a beautiful beach. Can't go wrong! Walls are a little thin but adds to the character. Would stay again!
- 5/5
The property was beautiful
- 2/5
Decent little place to stay with a dog. The unit was clean, except for stains on the living room carpet. The $114 fee for having my dog with me was ridiculous. $50 per night plus tax, non refundable. Made an expensive, yet average property less appealing. The $40 fee to check in 2 hours early felt smacked of greed. Would spend my money elsewhere next time. Did I mention that the heat did not work properly? It was 57 degrees in the unit the first night and 80 the second night.
- 5/5
We cannot wait to come back!
- 4/5
This was a great spot for us as we brought our dogs. However the pet fee of $50 per dog per night seemed high. The property is old but nicely maintained. Clean. Staff was hard to find at times but always very nice.
- 5/5
Beautiful views Close to Capitola
- 5/5
Loved it
- 5/5
The property is so quaint and full of personality. I enjoyed my stay and look forward to going back soon.
- 5/5
The gardens are beautiful and the proximity to the beach is a two minute walk!. All in all, Ocean Echo is an absolutely perfect choice for a getaway to the Santa Cruz area!
- 5/5
We will be back
- 4/5
Great location for steps to beach access.
- 4/5
Well maintained and clean cottage room. Very nice continental breakfast! Quiet guests. Walking distance to quiet beach and very close to nice tourist town and restaurants. FC
- 4/5
Beautiful hotel but not the best location for the money unfortunately.
- 2/5
The ceiling light was fading and provided no light. The toilet seat would not stay upright. The so called breakfast was a joke--------two hardboiled eggs and a few packets of oatmeal.. No place to sit. We have b een to lots of motels and this was the worse we have seen. Getting out of parking place difficult. Not in any way worth the exorbitant $500 price! Never again will be back. We have children living in Soquel
- 3/5
We paid for smores kits from them to use on their beach that 1) didn’t allow fires and 2) had a group of homeless folks sleeping at the entrance to the beach and 3) had sheriffs there for who knows what several times while we were there. Pillows were awful and mattresses not great. My daughter’s room was dark and basement like. Would not stay again.
- 4/5
Cool place to stay
- 2/5
There is not a convenient path to the beach and the beach was filthy and not well maintained. The room to get the complimentary breakfast was extraordinarily tiny and could fit no more than two people at a time. Our sea breeze room was also small and dingy. My wife and I came here looking for a pleasant honeymoon experience, but we can honestly say we will never come back here again!
- 4/5
I love the ocean view and sounds. I didn’t like that I could hear everything happening in the offices above my room. Wonderful staff🌈🤗
- 5/5
Without it. We will be staying here again in the future.
- 5/5
Jessica at the front desk was very, very nice!!
- 3/5
Per per per day is a bit much, especially since you do not know that charge until after booking the room. Even 5 star hotels like the Four Seasons only charge $50 per stay. Other than that the hotel staff was helpful the rooms good, but the location was excellent for getting to the beach quickly and easily. Dog are also allowed on the leash. So a win, win. Only the extra per charges seem out of place for an awesome hotel.
- 5/5
Was a great little spot close to beach and restaurant. Very clean and friendly!
- 1/5
This is establishment is not kid friendly.
- 5/5
Right next to a small beach, dog friendly, clean, and great staff!
- 5/5
Very pleasant room and atmosphere. Loved our ocean view. Enjoyed the peaceful vibe and location.
- 5/5
Everything
- 4/5
A lovely place by the beach
- 5/5
Very clean and convenient. We were just passing by, but if we have the chance, we will go back for a longer stay to enjoy the patio and ping-pong table.
- 5/5
Cozy, comfy, clean, adorable inn steps from the beach. Great price for off-season, decent continental breakfast (please get better coffee though!) and a perfect little beach cove for surfers and dogs. We had a great time.
- 4/5
Loved our room. Had a great balcony and view of the beach. The inn was clean and within walking distance to shops and even more stunning ocean views. Our room was a little chilly (my husband is never warm enough) but, the staff gave us an extra comforter and that was great. Convenient location to explore both Capitola and Santa Cruz.
- 4/5
The property is very beautiful. During the summer or when the weather is better, it must be nice to sit outside, enjoy a fire and look at stars while listening to the surf.
- 5/5
Great cozy location with easy access to everything you’re looking for in the area. We loved the community deck overlooking the waves and cove and the breakfast was great for a continental. It was very comfortable! Loved having a little kitchen and our room had a jetted tub!
- 5/5
Good stay!
- 5/5
Cool place with good location. Walking distace to food and nice beaches/sunset viewing. Breakfast items good and staff helpful/informative/nice.
- 2/5
Matress was soft with no lumbar support, wifi sucks, says it has beach access and it doesn’t, unfinished room, had a roofing company fixing shingles and it was loud
- 5/5
Dawn was very nice.
- 5/5
I have a dog that goes everywhere with me, and she requires some ‘space’ to get acclimated. We had our own little patio/yard and unit #10 could not have been more fun for two adults and a dog. It’s in the near everything you’d want and has a great vibe.
- 3/5
Quaint hotel, have done some nice updates, different types of rooms/cottages, near beach, nice basic breakfast offered, awkward parking. Bed wasnt too comfy, lots of spiders outside our front door, no housekeeping, overpriced for what it is, some rooms are dog friendly but $50 per night per dog seems excessive. Can be a little loud from beach noise at times.
- 5/5
It was clean, quiet and 3 minutes away from a beautiful beach. This was a last minute reservation, and we were really impressed. They are also pet freindly, which is important to us. We will be back.
- 5/5
Super nice and clean. It’s like 200 yards to the beach. Staff was super nice.
- 5/5
Management was amazing, comfortable accommodations with everything I needed. Short stroll to the beach. A little warm during the day, fine at night. Being able to have my puppy with me made a world of difference. Thank you for a great trip!
- 5/5
Very cute and cozy hotel. Super clean and breakfast included. We really enjoyed our stay.
- 4/5
Cute and cozy. Friendly staff.
- 5/5
Perfect for a short getaway!
- 3/5
Duh
- 5/5
I've stayed there many times and love the "at home" feeling you receive feom the staff! So close to the ocean too!
- 1/5
This is really hard for me to write, as I like to recommend and compliment businesses, but this needs to be said to help others make an informed decision of whether they want to stay here or not. I recommend to NEVER go here.! The rooms are old, poorly maintained and unhealthy. We stayed one night in June. We walked in and immediately saw bugs on the pillows. The room was over $500.00 and it didn’t dawn on me, that it could have been bed bugs. We did try to tell someone immediately, but no one was in the office and we were busy as there was a big “0” birthday the next day for our friend. Then we noticed a septic/sewage smell in the bathroom, (never used the bathroom), flickering lights in the bedroom, a ceiling fan that wouldn’t turn on, a tremendous gas smell when the heater was turned on… as I am writing this, I wonder why we even tried to sleep one night. I had a terrible headache through the night and I was woken up by an ear piercing carbon dioxide poisoning alarm going off in our room. I ran outside in my pajamas, where I stayed for an hour waiting for someone to turn it off and fix it. Another guest from another room also ran out of her room, saying the same thing happened to her the last time she stayed and she was just giving it one more try. The carbon monoxide alarm was reset several times and put back in the room, only to keep going off again and again. We packed up our things and left in my pajamas to go home… only to drive all the way back for the birthday event

Charming gem of a place in a quiet location, just a few minutes away from a small beach cove.

Hotel staff was great but when I got to my room I saw I had two twin beds put together instead of a king size bed, which is what I paid for. Two night stay and it was the most uncomfortable bed. We didn’t sleep well and both have sore backs.

A wonderful spot for our four nights in Santa Cruz, which itself has so much to offer. As it’s not yet high season, we had the inn virtually to ourselves, along with the cheerfully attentive and accommodating staff. We brought our dog with us ($50 / night fee) - Sunny Cove Beach is a two minute stroll away. The kitchenette is very well equipped and the daily continental breakfast offered lots of good options. We hope to return, soon!
