Reviews

- Outdated facilities and decor
- Hidden fees for parking and breakfast

Halls were musty (smelly) and warm. Gym AC was broken (81°, but set to 64°). Fridge in my room was broken with a pool of water sitting inside of it. No towels in the gym, even after calling the front office. Gym was not cleaned. Lobby cafe was overpriced and so was parking. Find another place to stay.

Charged me twice instead of looking for a reservation I had already prepaid for, we were staying due to our new born in the Nicu, we were told at the beginning we would be able to add two more days to our stay long as we told them a day ahead, they did not stand by that. Not only does the property need a ton of updates and work, but they are not there to help anyone staying at their facilities that are already under pressure.

We came for a weekend graduation and the location was good. The room was clean and comfortable. There is no free coffee except for the packet in your room with fake creamer. If you wanted coffee after 9:30 at all there was none to purchase. There was a $10 per night fee for parking. The pool wasn't very nice and there's no hot tub. I would stay there again if needed, but would most likely choose a different property.
- 1/5
Place is dated and the carpets are filthy. Market place is over priced! Very disappointed 😡
- 2/5
The room was on the 1st floor and had a sliding glass door that opens to a ground level patio with no gate or protection from people walking by. It felt very unsafe. The check in process took very long. The agent said my reservation was for 5/4/26 and that I had already checked in...which was wrong. I showed her the online reservation and finally got a room which was hot and stuffy. I can't say that will stay here again.

Good location Have better staff that’s not rude. I was traveling with two service animals and the employee was extremely rude to me and asked me 100 questions about my disability and medical condition and they charge $10 for parking and for breakfast was not free. Ridiculous. I will never stay at this location again.

Certainly not the standard Marriott experience I expected to receive for what I paid. We had to wait 45 minutes after midnight for someone to be on property to check us in, the property is in desperate need of repairs and cleaning, the area around the hotel is not exactly warm and welcoming

Pool didn’t work, TV didn’t work at first, bathroom was dirty, paint was chipping everywhere, there were cigarette butts everywhere, and the tub barely drained. For the price I paid for this hotel I expected a much better experience.
- 3/5
It was disappointing. Very old needs updated. Carpet is very dirty. There’s only one mirror in the whole room and it’s in the bathroom and it’s very dull. It was not a good experience.
- 4/5
Parking was easy and no additional cost so I appreciated that. Staff was so nice and helpful. Shopping nearby. My only complain per se is my air conditioning unit kept making a sound and the couch and curtains were pretty dirty in my room. And the lighting wasn’t great since it was only lamps. Not a major deal since I was only in it but so much but definitely doesn’t make it feel worth spending the amount we did for 2 nights.
- 2/5
Location Room was extremely small. Toilet handle was broken but we fixed it. TV was not working but we finally got it working. No soap in the shower but we asked and they brought it. Pool was closed.

Ice machine broke And first the room I was in has caution tape had to move to another
- 3/5
The hotel needed to be updated. The ceiling in the shower was peeling. The front desk staff was courteous but on two occasions no one was readily available. On Sat. Evening I waited over 5 mins for someone to come and provide extra towels. On Sunday morning, my husband waited to turn in room keys but the employees was running the cafe. My husband was disappointed the coffee in the lobby was a charge. At your more moderately priced hotels you have coffee and breakfast included. Pillows on the bed were flat. Room was not freshened for 2 night stay.
- 5/5
Very clean and comfortable 👌
- 2/5
Nothing went well during my visit. Front Entry door wouldn't open with key card. Sink stopper didn't stop the sink. Mattress had a wire from the coil spring that stuck through the fabric into my ankle. Mattress had heavy nap gathered across it and into the seams. Looked like dust and dirt or something else. Dead bolt on the entry door would not engage to lock. And The refrig was located to close to the night stand making a trip hazard near the TV cabinet. I moved it. NO PRIVACY , NO DOOR between the entry way past the wash up area and the bath room.. The front desk clerk said it was an old hotel and nothing gets done on repairs.
- 5/5
Really enjoyed the balcony. Staff were friendly and helpful.
- 2/5
Several things did not work, most notably the AC, and the employee response was disheartening. I was also charged for parking, though on your site free parking was noted. My calls to discuss this with the manager were not returned.
- 5/5
I didn't notice until our check out morning, but on the third floor, our room had some water damage and a pretty long crack in the ceiling - luckily it was sunny during our visit and we didn't get leaked on, but I wished I had noticed sooner to mention it. And the beds were probably the most uncomfortable hotel beds I've ever slept on. Everything was NEAT and CLEAN, but I was restless throughout the night and woke up aching and sore. We didn't go swimming so I can't comment on the pool at all, but the location was close to the mall and not too far from downtown, so it was nice and convenient. It was also behind a goo bit of trees so even though it right on a main road, it was nice and quiet.
- 5/5
Very comfortable room & bed. Good TV reception. No free breakfast, though. That was disappointing.
- 4/5
The hotel interior was dark and dreary. Needs some TLC
- 4/5
Yes shops as well as food places and a mall. Not far from downtown. Quiet relaxing atmosphere 😌
- 5/5
The staff, most of all, made my short stay a very pleasant and memorable. Thank you.
- 2/5
Entrance is a bit hard to get to

Great place to stay. Clean and good location
- 2/5
Found the pills in the sofa, service rude
- 5/5
The property is very clean. The staff is wonderful. Customer service is always awesome when I stay. I always stay at a Marriott property when I’m traveling
- 2/5
At least service coffee good brand on the lobby it not cost you much .
- 5/5
I really like the balcony area and the bed was very comfortable. Very clean and the staff was friendly.

From the moment we arrived, after checking in with the front desk we parked as instructed and went around the east side of the building. Where the back door was open with a chair and we were greeted with abandoned boots and other belongings in the parking area! The entrance rug was dirty with stains and not vacuum. The inside of the elevator was the same. It got worst, once we got into our room #231 at the end of the hall next to the highway! I understood we were in for a bad stay! Here it comes, these are the facts for my “REFUND”; German Roaches on the counter at night! Missing Hair Blower in restroom Dirty Furniture with Stains Tub with Dirty Ring Floor Dirty Low Roll Toilet Paper Coffee Maker not working Balcony never been cleaned Front Desk Refused to Provide Coffee Worst of all, Elisabeth Austin, G.M., simply never addressed my complaints! Attached are all the supporting pictures to back up all my allegations! Now, let's be clear, I paid insurance and I expect a quick response and need the “Regional Manager”, to the Marriott Hotels in order to bring this matter to his attention.
- 5/5
Nice staff, nice property, safe space.
- 5/5
Staff was awesome. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. I’ll be in Savannah for business a lot soon and this hotel will be on the top of my list.
- 3/5
We were in room 140. It was handicap equipped supposedly. There was no grab bar by the toilet. The toilet was super low for people in wheelchairs, but they would still need a grab bar to get up off the thing. Also, there was only one bar in the shower. There was mildew or mold in the ceiling in the sleeping area and everything felt “damp.” There was dust all over the headboards and the sides of the nightstand in between the two beds. We were very disappointed.
- 3/5
Staff was nice, professional and quick. I dont stay in hotels often , so my expectations were not met. For people who travel the rooms look, smell, comfort is probably normal.
- 5/5
The staff were very helpful and knowledgeable.
- 2/5
Lobby has been renovated and gives you the feeling of an upscale hotel. Staff is exceptionally friendly. Pool is clean and a good size. Unfortunately that is all the positive things concerning this hotel. Hallways are dark and have a strong musty smell. Carpet is dirty, frayed and stained. Carpet in the room is frayed and everything is dated. No pool towels available at the pool as we were informed. Had to return to the front desk to get towels. Courtyard area had several broken light stanchions that were laying flat on the ground with exposed wiring. We were scheduled for a two night stay and cancelled the 2nd night. No free breakfast, must pay for your breakfast from the overpriced Starbucks coffee counter.
- 3/5
The property was fine, however check in says 3:00 and we arrived at 5 and there were no rooms available yet. We were tired from driving all day and made to sit in the lobby for an hour waiting on a room!
- 3/5
This is a 65.00 dollar a night motel at best. NO BREAKFAST, smells like livestock in the motel.
- 2/5
We had 3 rooms. We had issues with turning the shower on and off, lighting at face sink was poor. The TV was not in good working order.
- 1/5
The next day I left to go to visit family when I came back there was more roaches so I said to hell with that and I left
- 2/5
A lot of homeless outside by the main street. It looks like the area is not safe. Also the housekeeper and the front desk who worked third shift was rude. We asked for an extra pillow for our son who’s sleeping in the pull out sofa when we checked in but we told the front desk we’ll just pick it up when we come back and she was nice to say that she’ll have it ready when we come back. But we came back after her shift so there was 2 different ladies in the front desk. The housekeeper didn’t want to give us a pillow instead asked me how many pillows do we have in our room why we need extra. I mean, do I have to explain why I need extra pillows? I have not had encountered in any hotel asked me why I need more pillows. I usually leave a tip for housekeepers but not this stay because of how we got treated when we came back to the hotel. Aside from that, the person who checked us in and out were very nice.

Clean room close to ol time buffet bbq
- 5/5
Great stay, Great staff!
- 5/5
Staff was good
- 5/5
It was a good stay
- 4/5
The bathroom wall painting was sloppy. The bathroom was in poor repair. The sink stopper didn’t work. The toilet drained very slowly.
- 5/5
We stayed one night on our way home from a wedding on Hilton Head and this was an excellent choice for our pit stop. The location is outside the historical district but only a short and easy drive away (15-20 minutes), with easy parking in Savannah during the time we were there. It was sparkling clean with convenient parking.
- 5/5
The staff will go out their way to make sure you’re having a great stay. Joetta was awesome!
- 5/5
Great hotel!
- 4/5
Loved the stay.
- 1/5
They were having some sort of computer glitch and they could not give me keys to my room. One of the front desk attendant had to walk me to my room and let me in.
- 5/5
Wasn’t as expensive as River area. Felt safe
- 5/5
Very clean. Love the ease of checking in. Water pressure great. I am tired and this is perfect!
- 3/5
Was charged for parking unexpectedly, dated property hard to find
- 5/5
This may be an older building, but it has had the full Marriott Courtyard referb and is the the typical Courtyard experience. Also, the staff are friendly and very good.
- 3/5
It was okay but not great … elevator first floor button was not working properly
- 5/5
Very nice staff.
- 5/5
Parking fee is absurd
- 3/5
Hard to review 3 star hotels. Unless they go above and beyond, they are just another average forgettable hotel. From my point of view, beds weren't comfy and showers were barely warm. Again, not bad, not great, just average.
- 2/5
Descent location. in room coffee is worst than instant. Only Starbucks for breakfast sucks.
- 1/5
I usually love the courtyard however this stay was a bit challenging. We paid $8 for parking with no security. The hotel itself needs an update. The room had rusted pipes and was not to clean with beer tops under the end table. I ask for room service and was told that that’s only when you stay three days or more. So my husband had to go to the front desk to get new wash clothes and towels. While we had a room full of trash because there was no one to clean over room. The bathroom also had long black hair in the shower and on the back of the toilet. So No we will not be supporting the Courtyard anymore. Please they don’t offer free breakfast like most hotels do.
- 3/5
not good
- 4/5
The place was great. Staff was excellent. My only complaint was the mattress was way to soft. After the 3rd night my back and neck were killing me. I would definitely invest in new mattresses especially room 107. Other than that it was ok. Also they closed the breakfast down to early. Stayed for 3 days and never got breakfast
- 4/5
Staff were friendly and accommodated a late checkout. Hotel was slightly run-down but otherwise good.
- 3/5
Older building. Luke warm shower, dark vanity area. Dirty. Hard mattress.
- 4/5
1mile from my daughter’s house. Very convenient.

- 5/5
Nice property enjoyed
- 3/5
Not in the best area. Lobby was very nice, rooms are very outdated. Definitely not as advertised
- 5/5
Sadly, hallways smelled like pot
- 4/5
Convenient location to Oglethorpe mall and everything that goes with it. Comfortable bed and clean room. I wish there was a microwave in the room but other than that I was happy with the amenities. Quick check-in and check-out.
- 3/5
TV not working properly, sliding patio door would not unlock, caulking in tub coming apart, too tired to move to another room.
- 5/5
Nice
- 3/5
Shocking that this is a Marriott related property. Poor signage and dingy sheets on the bed! Overall not in very good state of repair. However, the staff is great.
- 2/5
Desk clerk was rude and condescending. Room was not attended to during our stay. We had to chase down housekeeping to get toilet paper and fresh towels. In room coffee was not stocked and 2 cups of coffee at the "bistro" was over $10.00 (rip off). Not likely to use courtyard again.
- 4/5
Great value, easy drive to upper midtown and river st (waterfront). AC unit was loud and inconsistent. Overall it was a good stay
- 4/5
Bed was SUPER comfy!
- 3/5
It was very difficult getti g in the back door, especially with suitcases, etc. The door is too heavy and the time from swiping too short. The bathroom door in my room was extremely noisy. The checkin girl was very good and helpful.
- 5/5
The hallway and the elevator was dingy. Need to touched up with paint
- 2/5
Stale bread purchased for breakfast. @ $8
- 5/5
It was very quiet and accommodating. It was a good experience
- 5/5
We had a great stay!
- 3/5
The staff at the hotel were very accommodating. And the hotel in general appeared to be very clean. Though the bathrooms could have use some updating. The issues I had included that our AC unit started making noises in the middle of the night, but someone came up promptly to troubleshoot the issue. Unfortunately, we ended up having to turn off the air conditioner as the solution. there was a lot of noise coming from adjacent room in the hotel that kept us up late and got very little sleep on our first night. Restaurant closed early for breakfast 10:30am.
- 3/5
Great place to stay, will book again in the future
- 2/5
Would not recommend this to anyone, staff appeared to not care if you were there or not., the place was rundown needed a good cleaning.
- 5/5
staff is not friendly.
- 5/5
Very friendly, polite. Room was very clean. I love the idea of the bottled water in the room.
- 3/5
The front lobby was nicer and had more updates than the room. The room was clean. It was a surprise to pay $9 a day for parking.
- 2/5
When we arrived it was late but it was nice to echeck-in. We arrived at 4am and ready to rest, but the beds were damp not a pleasant experience. The staffed tried to help but the thought of damp sheets made us wonder what else was not cleaned well!😱
- 4/5
Friendly staff
- 5/5
The staff bent over backwards for us this trip. Thanks
- 3/5
Didn’t like that you could not tell it was the courtyard by Marriott, no visible signs, carpet was old , surrounding area was not that great!!!
- 4/5
The light over the bathroom sink was very dim. The lids for the coffee cups were too big. It took several tries to get the commode to flush.
- 5/5
Very lovely and quiet the name on the tv was a lovely touch

- 1/5
The was NOT Marriot quality. The lobby was lovely abut the rooms were badly in need of renovation. For $285 dollars a night I expected a lot more. The bathrooms looked like a Motel 6 in 1980. There was no soap in the rooms, the mirror was badly water stained and the light in the bathroom was so dim I had a hard time putting my contacts in. I would not recommend this hotel.
- 4/5
Okay for a Marriot in this area. My bathtub won't drain properly, probably a hair jam.
- 5/5
I was able to Check-in a little early. This was a business trip so that helped me get started for the day.
- 3/5
I’ve never stayed at a Marriott property that was unkempt as this.
- 5/5
prompt service and good advice
- 5/5
everything was fine. glad to have a cafe on site.
- 5/5
Great stay!
- 4/5
Room was supposed to be handicapped accessible. It was a very small room. Not enough for a wheelchair to maneuver. Shower was not handicapped acct. only had rails. Should have shower seat and removable shower head Was very disappointed with that. Otherwise the room and all other areas were clean and nice. Staff was extremely nice and helpful. Would return if the handicapped situation was guaranteed
- 5/5
Clean and convenient to Savannah hot spots.

- 3/5
This location is very “long in the tooth”. It was hands down one of the darkest hotel rooms I have ever stayed in. Everything just feels worn out and tired.
