Reviews
The hotel reviews collectively express a strong dissatisfaction with the condition and cleanliness of the rooms, with multiple reports of dirty bathrooms, stained sheets, and pest issues. The service provided by the front desk and management is also frequently criticized for being unfriendly and unhelpful. However, some reviews mention friendly staff and good location as positive aspects.

It was convenient to the game we were attending. It was nasty and had a bad smell. The cleaning crew were banging on the door around 8:30 am and we were still asleep. We couldn’t understand what they were saying and they didn’t understand what my husband was telling them. It looked like someone had split something in the chair and no one cleaned it. There was hair in the shower so we got some cleaning products to clean before we showered. The smell of our room was not good but the bed was comfortable. We brought a blanket and slept on top of the covers.

The breakfast was good. Although they only have eggs on the weekends. Plus the location was very convenient to get into the city and close to shopping Overall the hotel was run down and not very clean. Especially our bathroom. The tub was very stained & old. The water pressure was good but obviously very worn. Some healthier breakfast options would be nice too.
- 4/5
Rooms were clean and staff was very friendly. Convient parking, quiet guests, and easy access to all of Savannah and surrounding area. There were no smoking signs all over facility but our entire floor smelled like cigarette smoke. Also a heavy smell of some type of industrial cleaner was very over powering in room initially and throughout hallways and elevator.

Staff were great. There is no pool, it was filled in with concrete. The room was not clean. Marks all over the walls, bath tub was dirty, lamp shades were gross, and mini fridge did not get very cold. Checked the bed with a black light and it was actually very clean and comfortable. AC did work well also. It was a place to sleep that is about it. Breakfast options were very limited. Cereal, waffles, yogurt, bagels, eggs and sausage. No biscuits or gravy though.
- 1.5/5
The bed did appear to have clean sheets on it. The check in lady was pleasant. The room i stayed in was not in good shape. It had curtains falling down, an outlet cover lying on the floor, a very dirty bathroom with a dingy tub and tile around it. I will not return to this property or maybe any baymont after this first experience with one of their hotels.

Location is good It was not clean at all (Not for what I paid) I visited Savannah for three days, two nights, but Monday morning I couldn’t have a good breakfast. It was 8:30 am and we could not have eggs or sausages (Don’t know if a good breakfast is only on weekends) Bathroom was literally dirty; the bedroom smelled really bad, and walls and faucets were extremely dirty. It was not a good experience at all.

Front desk service was good. The room was awful. First, the room assigned to us would not open, even after they reactivated the keys twice. Then we were moved to another room that smelled strongly like urine and cigarettes. The bathroom looked old and poorly maintained, with corroded fixtures and a rusty bathtub. The refrigerator was not working either. Traveling with my baby and my 4-year-old daughter, we could not sleep comfortably at all. Very disappointing experience.

The lobby was nice. I had reserved three rooms. The single suite was okay. The other two rooms were terrible. In my room the carpet was dirty and sticky in places. The bath tub looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in about a week. The paint in the bath room was scratched up and so was the door. My third room where four other members of my family stayed was terrible also. Again the bath room looked like it had been cleaned in a week. The carpet was dirty and sticky places. There was all so hair all over the room and and in the bathroom. Then on top of all this they gave some strange a key to the room and they walked in on my family at 5 in the morning scaring the crap out of everybody.

The price was good, but you get what you pay for. Staff was friendly, parking was generous. Old, outdated, building does not look like the pics on booking.com, poor water pressure, dirty carpet, sticky bathroom floor, musty smells, some plugs didn't work, VERY noisy neighbors.
- 3/5
This property was okay for the price. The rooms were clean but very worn.
- 4/5
Convenient location and only a short drive to the historic part of Savannah. Can’t really say. Staff was nice and place was decent.
- 4/5
Room was nice. Maid did a great job every day we were there. Breakfast was OK. Bed was comfortable. A/C was easy to control and room was always comfortable. Reasonably convenient to historic district if you are OK driving. A lot of noise outside at various times of the night and early morning; at times alarming. Could have used a guide regarding TV channels and networks.
- 1.5/5
Location Old and outdated. Tub was dirty and stained. Kitchen area not fit for residents
- 4/5
The area distance from downtown, however, it could upgrade the breakfast
- 0.5/5
The place is run down. The rooms smell horrible, cigarette’s stink! I tried other two rooms & all smelled as bad. The location advertises as ‘smoke’ free rooms but is a lie. I could not stay in the room, the smell was unbearable. I left and stayed at another hotel.
- 4/5
Yes they do offer breakfast but it’s not really that much of options, they had cereal, bagels, toast, muffins and waffles.. I did eat a bagel and cereal but still ended up getting actual breakfast in town. Bust other than that, everything was fine!
- 4/5
It was quiet. It was located near shopping plazas and restaurants. Breakfast muffins tasted old. More fruit was needed. The main bathroom had riches in it. Needs to be fumigated spray for insects.
- 3/5
The chair in our room was filthy and holding up a broken lamp. Our charger just fell out of the wall outlet by the bed. The carpet felt dirty. The pool was concreted in. Beds looked clean and were comfortable.
- 2/5
The cost was low, which i liked, but for what we got, I understand why it was low. The breakfast was decent. I say this with constructive criticism. When I 1st opened the door to go in, the smell of marijuana smacked me in the face. Website says 100% smoke free facility. This included the lobby. If we can't smoke cigarettes in there, should we be able to smoke pot? My husband is a smoker, so not quite sure how that's right. When i went to look at the pool, there wasn't a pool! Pictures on website clearly shows a nice pool. Although under amenities, it does not list a pool. The outdoor trash receptacles were overflowing. Then room appeared to be be extremely run down. The lampshades weren't even on straight and indented, ripped. The curtain had a stain and a giant hole. The sheets appeared to smell clean, didn't look clean, stained perhaps. The back part of the toilet, behind the seat was clearly not clean! When I sat on the bowl, I looked down at bottom part of toilet, that was gross! I didn't even attempt to lift up the seat, out of fear. There were drops of brown stuff on side of tub, that wiped off. And of course hairs in tub. The shower appeared to be dirty and run down, hoping it was just stained. The small refrigerator still had plastic on it,like when it's new. Just weird. People above us decided to bang around at 4 am. The whole experience was just trashy. Very disappointing!
- 2/5
It smelled like something somebody was smoking when we pulled in. The parking lot was well let and recently paved. The elevator was broken when we go there. The door to the third floor was very broken and propped open. The room has not been updated in many years. The furniture was worn and the curtain was broken. The ceiling had stairs and cracks and the bathroom had places plastered and not painted and the whole place didn't look super clean. the sink and the toilet were fine. The bed was sunk in and old. I could not adjust the air to make the room cold enough but the AC was working. The breakfast was very limited but ok. Over all I would never stay here again. It was pretty rundown.
- 5/5
All good.

1st room smelt like weed, got moved to another room and it had bed bugs!
- 3/5
The hotel overall could use a good deep cleaning, the staff was friendly and nice, breakfast was fresh and good. No exhaust fan for the bathroom. When we parked to check in there was not anything with a sign lighting up to specify front of building or lobby (after dark). The exterior side door to the stairs slams extremely hard. Not the worst hotel i had stayed in, but also not the best.
- 4.5/5
Perfect for what we were looking for
- 5/5
Everything from beginning to end was smooth and easy. We felt we had a great value for what we paid. Although we were only dropping in for a night and running out in the morning, during our road trip, we saw how expansive and fresh breakfast was and were very impressed. Everything was clean, well-kept, and very relaxing.

Rooms smelled like smoke, cigar or cigarette burns in the couch, can hear everything going on outside the room. There is no pool.
- 3/5
No cleaning during stay. Breakfast was good. Rusty tub. Have to have a car because 10 miles away from River Street & no nearby stores or shops
- 5/5
So appreciated the in-room microwave, mini fridge, coffee maker and hair dryer. The bed was very comfortable, and I lucked out w/ a large room, probably wheelchair friendly. We chose Baymont for the breakfast which was commensurate for the price. Coffee was adequate. We would book here again.
- 1/5
Housekeeping failed to secure my room door after servicing my room. Arrived several hours later to my room door open. Gentleman at front desk was pretty nonchalant about the entire situation. AC sounded like a 757 jet when it kicked on. Stayed 3 nights for work. Slept horribly between constant room doors slamming and the room above me continuously stomping around. People walking the banister talking loudly all hours of the night. The curtains didn't cover the entire window so it looked like daylight in the middle of the night...see pic attached. Do yourself a favor, sleep in your vehicle before paying for a room here.
- 4/5
My room was fine. It could use some updating and repair (the shower dripped, the sink faucet had little pressure, and the AC was noisy) but for the price, these things were not totally unexpected. The place was very clean. I felt safe. It was quiet and the parking lot was well-lit. Overall, I was pleased with my stay. I was there on business, so I didn't spend a lot of time in the room. It was a quiet, safe place to sleep which is what I needed, and it didn't bust my budget which was nice.
- 1/5
Breakfast was a big let down. Hope you like just waffles and no fresh fruit. We will not be returning or recommending any Baymont hotels.

The room was very gross. The walls had stuff all over them. The nightstand had a sticky red substance all over it. There was no hot water. The front desk was very friendly every time I had to get my keys remagnetized. Housekeeping knocking on the door at 9 am when check out isn’t until 11. I know this is a budget in but I would at least like the thick gross squirts across the wall to wiped down.

We had to switch rooms due to the first room being dusty, the bathroom had black mold, and some kind of bug in the window seal. The next room we were moved to wasn’t better but better than where we were. There was still black mold in the bathroom! And the room needed to be dusted as well.

- 5/5
Simple clean and great service. All the positive things for a quick trip.
- 2/5
Liza is the only reason I’m giving this property any star as her kindness is the only thing that made me smile. The bathroom was deplorable and the huge gap under the door allowed bugs to come in as well as all noise. The housekeeping was creepy and creeping around constantly feeling like there was no privacy. Additionally I was attempted to be charged over $75 more for a check in fee (not displayed anywhere) and an additional deposit which also wasn’t displayed anywhere.
- 5/5
The hotel is a good value. Nothing extravagant but clean and the young lady behind the desk when I checked was very nice and helpful.

I didn’t like anything, the place is old and needs a lot of work. The elevator wasn’t working. The rooms smelled like mildew.
- 1/5
This motel was not a good experience unfriendly workers got stuck in elevators and air was not working correctly and it smelled and on top of all that paid 300 for 2 nights you think it would be a little better than that
- 5/5
We had a great stay the staff was very friendly and I thought for the quality of the place that it was priced very fairly.
- 4/5
property provided a quality breakfast
- 1/5
My family was supposed to stay for 2 days, but we ended up leaving after 8 hours. We arrived late the first night and checked in without issue, but we were kept up all night by people banging on doors, going in and out. Our path upstairs was blocked every time we went up and down by people drinking and smoking. The stairwell smelled horribly of smoke and the building was overall in a state of disrepair. The room was not very clean or comfortable. We ended up requesting a refund on our second night and checked out early to find somewhere else to stay.
- 1/5
Not very clean, sketchy people staying in the hotel as well. Didn’t always feel safe.
- 5/5
Property and service exceeds what can reasonably be for the price and location. Great front desk staff.
- 3/5
Decent. No frills but does the job
- 4/5
The A/C didn't cool the room adequately, even though I had it set on the lowest temperature setting and highest fan speed. When I first entered the room I searched it because there was a distinct odor of marijuana in the room. I didn't find any and it dissipated after the A/C had been running for a while.
- 5/5
A/C set at 60 degrees didn't cool the room like it should have and when I opened the door the room had a smell like there had been some skunk weed in the room some time recently.
- 1/5
Not happy with this place at all. Not what I expected at all.
- 1/5
The rooms have outdated furniture and the bathrooms are in very poor condition, the bathtub was clogged and dirty.
- 3/5
It was just a ok hotel for a budget vacation. The room kinda smelled and the air only wanted to work on its own time. It's definitely an older hotel that needs a major upgrade! The breakfast was decent with yummy waffles. It had a pool we enjoyed.
- 1/5
DO NOT STAY HERE! We stayed on night on our way to the mountains on NC. At check in there was no AC in the lobby it smelled moldy and musty. We were given a 3rd floor room and wouldn’t you know the elevator was out because "it was hot outside" ????. There were vagrants hanging around the parking lot and the doors to the stairwells were wide open making the place unsecure. And finally the room. On the surface the room appeared ok it was old and musty but for the price it should’ve sufficed. We slept got up early and headed to our final destination and my girlfriend began itching here head. The itching got worse over our 6 hour trip. Sure enough she had gotten LICE from the room. I've stayed in hundreds of hotels and this has never happened. I would not recommend this hotel at all for the cleanliness alone.
- 3/5
Comfortable but room needed updates badly
- 2/5
Dirty and smelly was a non smoking but the hole property smelled cannabis
- 5/5
Excellent hotel, I highly recommend it. Very cozy and very clean.
- 3/5
We had to get this room at the last minute.
- 4/5
It was as pk
- 2/5
The pictures online are very misleading. Elevator stopped working and it didn't seem as they where in a hurry to get it fixed. It is not a smoke free facility. Price was decent but I guess the old saying stands true you get what you pay for. Breakfast was subpar. This is my second time staying at a Wyndham property i have been disappointed both times and they both were in Savannah.
- 5/5
Staff is always great, rooms are always clean on the 3rd floor. House keeping is great. Could use a little upgrade but it’s affordable and I love staying here. Been staying here for two years everytime we come to Savannah.

The hotel is old and out dated. Fixtures, carpeting, key scan system, elevater. The breakfast isthe same every morning . The room we stayed in was questionable. The walls looked dirty and just old. The ac unit was cold but smelled moldy and had broken vents. The tv remote was sticky and nasty. Clean your remotes.
- 1/5
This hotel needs a 2025 make over like yesterday. Shower head rusty, tub needs to be replaced, rooms need to be upgraded, to included paint. The cleaning staff half cleaned my room, took the trash only, bypassed the bed. Room had a humidifier sitting on the floor, making to much noise. Baymont you need to do much better. Get out of the Stone Age, and graduate to 2025 please.
- 3/5
It’s an economy hotel. You get what you pay for. Don’t have high expectations. It was clean though.
- 1/5
Disgusting. Smelly, unclean, broken beds, dead roaches on the floor, mold in bathrooms, piss stains on beds.
- 1/5
We had seven rooms reserved for our group. Instead of putting the rooms together, they had us strewn across three corridors on the third floor nowhere near each other, which was the point of our trip. One of our group changed rooms because the window wouldn’t shut. Her second room had a roach so she left the property altogether. My room the AC wouldn’t shut off until I unplugged it. Other rooms windows didn’t work. and other issues.Elevator broke down so we had to lug up and down to the third floor. The rooms were just generally dirty i.e. grungy and corner walls, plaster falling off, etc... I was embarrassed. I had reserved this place for my group! Don’t stay here you will regret it.

Older hotel, outside has updated paint but inside needs renovations. I had to get the hotel staff to fix the latch on the door that was loose and unsafe. Dusty rooms some areas of the room not cleaned. When I bought it to the attention of the staff she offered to move me to another room that was not much better than the room I was in.

Not bad overall friendly staff clean rooms
- 4/5
Check in office staff very friendly and accommodating to request for first floor room. (Great music in lobby!) Room numbers are very hard to read from vehicle. Well lit parking spaces! Mattress wasn’t very comfortable but room was very clean with all items expected, ie fridge, microwave and coffee pot. Room rate was very desirable especially with its proximity to medical facilities.

Horrible service, never going back.

Busted place , dirty , 15 layers of caulk on the tub, bathroom vet crusted in dirt and dust. Website claimed EV charging , there was none . Tub looked like something from a crack house . Chair had dripped brown stains. Towels were stained brown. Hair dryer had dirty brown finger prints all over it. Internet was useless . Booked two nights and left after one , place was disgusting .

Housekeeping & breakfast service were great. First time in a long time housekeeping came everyday! You can be eco friendly and still check rooms which they did. It might be an old hotel but had the best service!

Roaches were everywhere. The property was nasty. The stains were nasty.

The room had a horrible smell to it I had to put my car air freshener in there. The shower looked & felt dirty. The bed was not comfortable & had an odor to it.
- 1/5
The bed had blood spots on the sheets and bed bugs. The toilet backed up the first time I tried to use it. Desk clerk refused to give me a refund at 3am.

The staff was wonderful. Comfortable beds and a decent breakfast. The rooms need a makeover, but a decent stay. Great location for exploring Savannah.

This place was beyond disgusting. I felt unsafe the whole time I was there. And I had my daughter with me. Never stay here!

Friendly staff

If you're on a budget this place is worth it. Free breakfast and parking and comfortable enough if you just need a place to sleep.
- 4/5
I gave this a rating of a 3, only because I would only stay here for 1 night as a stopover. The property is old and looks it. Staff was great, and breakfast is what you would expect, some eggs, sausage, waffles and bread. It's a good place to stay as a stopover.

Average amenities. Average room, dresser drawers would not stay closed. Not sure how clean the bathroom was.
- 1/5
Beds with dirty sheets. Bathroom floor and tub dirty. Super bad smell in hallway. No evidence of the pictures on site - nothing was bright and clean about this place. Parking lot not safe after dark. Sign out front rusting. Bathroom door wouldn’t shut. Paper stuffed in broken peep hole.
- 5/5
The check in and check out were easy. The help at the front desk was quick to solve problems, such as the fact that I walked out of my room and the person at the front desk was very light hearted with my predicament and gave me a new key without any issue. He made it easy to change our rooms to the top floor at check in and was able to put our rooms next to each other. The food was okay. The coffee was great, in my standards. The hotel was old but the rooms, halls, elevator and dining room were kept clean. Most of the staff was very pleasant and eager to assist everyone as quickly and efficiently as they could and always with a happy heart and a warm smile.

Not a great experience Started off double charging us and there are many places closer to Savannah for better value

It was so bad we couldn't stay there! The room smelled awful, dresser drawers missing knobs, mold in the bathroom.

Very Dirty, would not recommend!

First off the bed was not comfortable. Adding to that the pillows were flat and only like squares. Not a true pillow and flat as a pancake which means that I had a horrible nights sleep. Second the bed spread had a big ole cigarette burn hole it it. In the bathroom the toulet paper holder came out of the wall everytime you tried to dispense the TP and I went to use the wash cloth to wipe my face and when I unfolded it there were grease markes on the one side of the rag. Glad we only stayed one night.

Terrible hotel dirty and outdated

When we got to our room the a/c panel didn’t work. When we told the guy at the front desk he quickly gave us new room keys.

There were cockroaches in the room! Horrible and dirty. They did switch us rooms without a problem, but we would definitely not stay here again.

Stuff paid attention for requests.

The pictures they showed were not the same as the room itself. We only stayed 1 night so it did the job. Breakfast was ok but should have coffee out there. There was people outside smoking in front of our door.

The hotel is old outdated and just disgusting. The TV is old, carpet smells, rust all over the walls and shower. Great location but horrible conditions.

Breakfast was a bit skimpy.

Everything was amazing especially the service. They helped me add a day and let us keep our room.

A really nice two night stay. The free breakfast was plentiful with choice. Lots of free parking, and a bus stop 2 mins walk away, which takes you to the Historic areas of Savannah. Also there are several restaurants just a few minutes away. Friendly staff at hotel too

First of all when we got to the hotel and we got keys for our room and when we came back later that night someone was in our room and we went to the front desk and demanding that we get a new room. We could not leave due to the fact that every other hotel was booked so we were stuck having to stay the night. But my girlfriend was extremely upset about the situation. Then the new room we got had two twin beds when we had paid for a king suite. This type of service is terrible. I also talked to another couple at the hotel who said that had the same thing happen to them, this hotel was double booking rooms. We asked for a refund for the second night have went to another hotel, but I still have not been refunded.

Old hotel needs new carpeting in hallways and to upgrade the bathrooms and windows but the room and beds were comfy, the staff was professional nice and helpful the continental breakfast was typical and adequate. Clean and orderly food area. Only the front desk clerk in the lobby/ area. Never saw the person in charge of the food area both mornings but didn't need them anyway.

Horrible hotel to stay at. My husband and I are disabled and I booked a first floor room assessable bathroom a week before my stay. When I arrived they gave me a third floor room that was not assessable. Went down and complained and they gave us a first floor room that was assessable, but it wasn’t very clean at all it was as if they half assed it. The fridge didn’t work at all, bathroom door didn’t lock at all. On my second day in the hotel, my husband and I were sleeping and there was a bunch of banging on our door thankfully we had our deadbolt on the door because maintenance unlocked our room trying to barge in. Then a couple minutes later my husband found out our room keys didn’t work and we went to the front desk, they then told us oh we didn’t even know you were in that room it says in our system that no one was in that room. They gave a bad apology, they didn’t want to talk at all. The front desk people don’t really want to talk to you like at all. They do the bare minimum! The only good thing about the room was how big the bathroom was. Would not recommend to anyone and definitely won’t be going back. Wish they offered to partially refund me due to all the issues. But they didn’t care.

Stay was ok. Bed very comfortable, the room was an older renovation. Some tile in the bathroom was loose and the hallway smelled of bad marijuana. Felt a contact high walking down it. I was on the 3rd floor which is enclosed.

Enjoyed my stay. A little more attention to the room maintenance. However if I am the area again I will stay there

Family travel for the holidays

Nothing special, very decent for the price.

Overall nice stay. Because of smoke smell in the corridor inside we booked the exterior room.
- 4/5
We were visiting family for the holidays in the Savannah area. We book our stay for several days. Our grandboys stayed with us at the hotel for most days. House keeping checked on us daily for any fresh towels , linens or room nessecities. Breakfast was ok. Waffles, bagels breads, pastries, cereals, yogurts, juices, scrambled egg patties and sausages. Coffee available all day in lobby.

the beds were not spaced evenly, one had room for two chairs the other was so slose to wall could not get out that way, had to go around and could not even get a suitcase in the space. poor design on placeing furnoiture. Overall the place needs refurbishing/updating.

The stay was horrific. They tried to come in my room while I was sleeping. To verify if it was empty or not! Oh and the lock didn’t work on my door either, I had to sit in the lobby and wait because my binging were in the room.

Very pleasant.

The hotel was pleasant and offered great value for the price. Our room was clean, smelled fresh, and the overall atmosphere of the hotel was nice. The breakfast was decent and met our expectations. Considering the price-quality ratio, I found it acceptable and would recommend it to others.

Very clean and staff was great.
