Never have I ever.. had such great bites and a choice of 6 wines for a 5 pm snack moment. Also, the house is gorgeous, the location perfect and the service top notch. Nothing comes to mind

It was a lovely historic house in a good location. The staff were very welcoming. Unfortunately we had some very noisy people for 2 nights above us.

Excellent b and b. Very comfortable room. We had a balcony which was lovely to sit out on at the end of the day. Generous wine and canapés each evening plus cake later in the evening. Great location for walking around the historic area. Great for free parking on the street too. We loved our time in beautiful Savannah. The staff were all excellent and so friendly.

The Gastonian has wonderful, large, individualized rooms. It has a really friendly and helpful staff and provided a fantastic breakfast. Little “extras” were also provided, such as late afternoon snacks with wine and evening dessert. Overall, a lovely experience. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! Nothing

Staff were great. Warm, welcoming, and provided good advice about restaurants and walking tours. Historic charm was paired beautifully with modern comfort. We were there during a winter cold spell and having a working gas fireplace in our room was the cherry on top. Everything about the hotel was special except the food. Breakfast and afternoon hors d’louvres, which were ok, didn’t rise to the level of the rest of the hotel.

Location! Historic site. Breakfast was wonderful and the cook was friendly and we had such a nice chat with her. The staff were so helpful and even carried our two bags up 2 flights of stairs! Room was very quiet and the neighborhood fun to explore! Thank you, Gastonian! Everything was awesome!

The room was more than expected!

The Inn is a beautiful place to stay. Each suite is individually decorated and has all the necessary amenities. Very friendly and helpful staff. I would definitely recommend staying here.

We won't stay anywhere else in Savannah. What a value! Full breakfast each morning, apps and wine in the evening, and dessert at night. Friendly staff, beautiful historic house, comfortable bedroom with a fireplace--what else could we want?

The staff was very professional. The property was very well maintained. We had a leak in the bathroom, and they responded immediately and took care of it quickly. The breakfast was absolutely fabulous. We very much enjoyed our stay.

The ambience, the excellent staff from the front desk to the kitchen staff made our stay most enjoyable.

Amazing facilities in a historic setting. Everything is within walking distance. Room was spectacular and super comfortable bed. Staff were always engaging and friendly.

Early check-in made travel much less of a hastle. The concierge and property staff were very accommodating and consistently asked if there was anything more they could do for my wife and I. The property itself was very lovely, and the garden suite in particular offered a unique escape at the end of each day. Would recommend snd will attempt to book here again.

It is in a poor shape and not very convenient location. Straight shot 23 steps up is not easy to struggle with. Room need upgrade and even hangers were not provided. Personnel was great, helpful and friendly I wouldn’t recommend orderly people to stay there Because even front porch has 13 pretty steep steps stairs plus walk to the closest dining is about 20 minutes. Thou park is just 5 min walk and it is great.

Very friendly and helpful staff

There were some issues with communication, however. One staff member asked us if we wanted a turndown service and I said yes. We didn’t get one. When I asked another staff member why I didn’t get it, she told me they don’t do turndown service anymore. I was confused because it was offered and advertised in print materials. It left me feeling confused. Also, we were told to park in a certain place that blocked in another. I asked about the blocking in and they said it was fine. The next day I get a call asking for my key so they can let another guest out. They come to my room to get my keys, but then I had to go to the desk to get my keys back. I was informed then that I had to leave my keys at the desk when parked where I was. I had already been there overnight. What would they have done if I was out??? A third issue was that in their web form they had an area to order champagne and chocolates to be in the room, but when I arrived it wasn’t there. Then there kept being confusion when it would be there between staff members. We finally got it the last night of our stay. All in all the communication issues weren’t upsetting, but showed that communication isn’t as good as it could be.

Room, location, and hospitality

Our room was spacious and clean. We know we are not in Savannah or at this hotel to watch tv, but a larger size TV would have been appreciated. And for people who have difficulties getting up and down stairs, you probably want to check with The Gastonian prior to booking.

We come here almost every year on our way south and love it. Wonderful historical hotel with exceptional staff and service!

I don't write a lot of reviews but this place was so wonderful I had to. We travel a LOT and this was one of the nicest, friendliest places we ever stayed in. We stayed here for a few nights before Christmas and it was like a holiday in post card. Beautiful. The morning breakfast, evening drink and hors d'oeuvres, and night time deserts made the stay especially memorable as it provided time to meet and get to know the other guests. The staff were so friendly and helpful. Several of the other guests mentioned they were return visitors and had a consistent experience each time they stayed. We didn't want to leave and can't wait to go back. Thank you, Gastonian - You made our Christmas Wonderful!

We had a wonderful stay. The staff is exceptional

Service: I asked for my room to be serviced while I was out for the day. When I came back I noticed that the bed was made, but with the same dirty sheets. She sheets had been soiled with obvious brown stains and the housekeeper didn't change them. Room: Nowhere to work. For me this killed the room. The room is spacious and has a nice bathroom, but no desk or table to work. No where to enjoy some food. The room needs a desk or perhaps a small table. I will a shout out to the front of houses who were great. But overall, at least for me, no joy for The Gastonian.

It was great stay and experience at this property. Breakfast options were great and room was great and staff was super caring and helpful.

This hotel is exemplary and the service is outstanding.

Breakfast was yummy. Every late afternoon the hotel had a happy hour with wine and appetizers which were delicious! Every evening they provided a sweet treat! It doesn’t get better than that!

Everything about our stay was first class. The southern hospitality was over the top. Accommodated an early breakfast for us in order to make an early flight. Could not have expected any better .

The staff were all wonderful and went out of their way to make it a great stay. The food served was always superb.The only down side if you can call it one, was the fan in the bathroom in the room we stayed in was not working. Other than that, excellent. We will definitely recommend and stay again.

Beautiful historic property. Loved the claw bathtub, gardens, and exposed brick. Breakfast was spectacular. Close to the historic district, you could walk to all the squares, restaurants, and Forsyth Park. I would highly recommend if you are staying in Savannah.

Breakfast, hors d'oeuvres, and dessert were all so great. In fact, there was an effort to arrange our schedule around each of these in effort not to miss them. Service was absolutely stellar. Staff were so friendly, helpful, and genuinely seemed to enjoy their jobs. Many of the fellow guests expressed positive things about the Gastonian as well and we enjoyed engaging with them. I've thought about my stay at the Gastonian multiple times since leaving and highly recommend it to anyone interested in lodging at this establishment. Thank you to the staff! The place and the staff make the Gastonian a perfect place to enjoy Savannah from. Well situated and well appointed you couldn't ask for a better home base. And the quality of service was superb.

This is our second visit to The Gastonian and it was once again an amazing stay! We chose The Carriage House this time and we really appreciated the privacy, the space, and the comfort of having a sitting area and a deck all to ourselves. The bed was very comfy, although a bit squeaky and the linens, including the towels, were soft and cozy. We never used the TV, but the Wi-Fi was great, and we had no issues connecting. The Gastonian is a bit further away from town, but we loved that about it because it allowed us to have real quiet time after an evening out. The breakfast was superb, along with the evening treats of wine, hors devours and desserts. The staff goes above and beyond and tries to accommodate guests every whim. A special thank you to Kennedy, Walter and all the kitchen staff for making our Savannah trip marvelous!

Had a great time, staff is VERY friendly and the room was great. Location was perfect for us, just one block from the Hop on Hop Off bus. Breakfast was amazing and the staff make you feel like family. Definitely would stay there!!! Absolutely loved it!!!!

Our stay at the Gastonian was delightful! A special shout out to Chris who was very helpful and informative. The food was delicious. A choice of different breakfast foods were offered, and they were all very good. Additionally, there were appetizers in the early evening, and dessert, later on. Our room was spacious, quiet and very comfortable. I whole heartedly recommend the Gastonian!

The staff were absolutely amazing, especially the chef. The food was great and the front service was as well. If we had one complaint it would be the cleaning crew. We asked for daily cleanings, and while they did, it was less than par. Old towels were left in the room, robes not hung back up, there was a mouth piece from a prior guest in the bathtub.

A wonderful overnight but wished we had planned at least one more day at the Inn. The staff was so pleasant and accommodating and the Inn was truly a gem in a beautiful part of Savannah. The room was spacious and nicely appointed. Dinner recommendations and reservations were made by Chris who did not disappoint.We hope to stay again next winter on our trip South.

Not happy when I found out that I was not in the main house. It was a bummer that we had to go out side to enter the main house. Everyone we came in contact with was extremely pleasant. The made to order breakfast was delicious. The cocktail hour and evening port and dessert were excellent. Would I go back, absolutely.

The people make all the difference. Kennedy will set you up well with any tour you are interested in. Noel is an incredible chef and you will be very happy with the customized breakfast. Walter is a fantastic support who is service-oriented. This is a great facility with much to offer anyone looking for a true vacation.

The Gastonian Inn was so wonderful ! Location was great, the staff were awesome, the breakfasts were ample and delicious, the wine and hors d'oeuvres in the evening from 5-6:30 were great, and the desserts and beverages between 8 and 10 were delicious ! Parking was easy. The rooms were clean and comfortable.

Parking was fine on-street in our full-size truck which is usually something of concern when we travel but they also had plenty off-street that wasn’t cramped too. We never moved our truck the entire weekend as we “hoofed it” or pedaled our way around the downtown area. I will say it’s a bit of a trek by foot AND since it was cold and super windy but nothing that would keep us from staying at The Gastonian again plus they’re are trolleys and other ways to navigate if walking or cycling isn’t your thing. We enjoyed our stay and look forward to another getaway to Savannah again.

Loved the whole feeling of the public and our bedroom. Brings you back in time. The 21 stair climb to our room was difficult for anyone with a disability,ask for a ground room. I think there is only one.The staff was very helpfl and friendly. Having wine at 5 was wonderful, Breakfast was wonderful with a lot of choices. Will surely return.

We stopped at the Gastonia and for one night on our way down to Florida. We had stayed there before several times and it was everything I remembered and more. We had a delightful time from the moment we checked in until we left. The room, including a wonderful fireplace, was beautifully appointed and very comfortable. The evening, hors d’oeuvres, wine and dessert and port later were wonderful. Breakfast was incredible. We will definitely be returning.

This place was great! Awesome service, the food was the best, and our room was perfect. They made sure we had parking and it was free. There was a small lot behind the hotel but also plenty of street parking, so we were able to park on the street right outside our room. When i come back to Savannah, I will stay here!

Beautiful and gracious historic homes now a boutique inn. We felt so pampered. The breakfast each morning was spectacular as was the staff. Evening social an added bonus to our stay. This was the most enjoyable hotel stay we have had. The location is great near Savannah's main park and in the historic grid with its many garden squares. The inn itself was beautiful architecturally, with gracious living room, guest room including balcony, dining room, and the service was great. Breakfast was individually prepared and outstanding with many choices, and the inclusion of a glass of wine in the late afternoon, and dessert and port after dinner created a great atmosphere. What a great place, and all of the thought that went into taking care of guests much appreciated.

Staff: when the staff say “my pleasure,” you can tell they mean it. It’s a sign of quality when there’s longevity in the staff, some of whom has been with the inn for almost 20 years. The staff really do think of everything you would need during a stay and go out of their way to take care of the guests. Lodging: Each room at the Inn had its own personality and name. The comfortable bed had just the right give to be soft but enough firmness to support. The blackout curtains blocks out the blazing Georgian summer sun. Location: The Gastonian Inn is two streets away from Forsyth Park and about a mile walk to the waterfront. The neighborhood street is lined with beautifully historic buildings, giving you plenty to admire during a walk. If you don’t want to do the walk, there are many free public transportation options near by. Amenities: the Inn’s breakfast is to stop dieting for. Their afternoon hors d’oeuvres and wine is a great pick me up after a long day of walking and visiting museums. The evening dessert and wine is the perfect way to end a day. We took a beach trip to Tybee Island and was able to borrow beach towels, chairs, and umbrella. Overall, we had an amazing stay and look forward to be back another time.
