Loved everything about this hotel the staff was amazing

Very nice motel and staff. The motel is not in a very quiet area, but it is completely closed, even the parking lot. This gives a feeling of security and good attitude towards guests. The motel was clean and pleasant. I especially want to say a big thank you to the woman who was at the reception these days (June 6-7). She was very friendly, gave us a lot of useful tips and recommendations for our trip and simply helped with any questions. I wish there were more such nice employees. Thank you very much.

There is a gate and keeps out the riff raff. Note that there is a $100 deposit and I don't blame them in this hood. Management was kind enough to refund me when I didn't have it and I appreciate their kindness. Didn't actually stay because of it , however it's well kept and attentive staff makes it a standout in the motel segment for the average traveller

Clean place and helpful staff, although the area is not great the security gate seems to do its job and there's less of the city element at this end of town. Jack in the Box, Crispy Cream and iHop not too far away, good deal for the money, I would stay again.

Very clean. Despite sketchy area, we felt safe due to the automated gate around the property. This hotel had the most comfortable bed ever, we will stay here again if ever in the area.

This motel was so great I stayed again! The property was gated, clean, and comfy. I felt very safe and was pleasantly surprised by the immaculate room conditions! The woman running the desk was friendly and helpful with every need I had and I would recommend this place 1000x over.

Not a great part of town but I really like the gate and as soon as you go through the gate, everything is perfect very clean and very nice inside and out. Office staff were super nice and friendly and very helpful with suggestions for places to eat and shopping nearby. Couple of things to notate for fellow travelers is very small bars of soap and a small packet of shampoo and conditioner (I’m sure the nice office staff would give you more if you asked but we didn’t) also both beds were very stiff but some people are ok with stiff beds because everybody has their own preferences. Overall, very nice place and a very nice stay

The gated property provides an added sense of security and helps keep unwanted traffic off the premises. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the overall atmosphere was quiet, comfortable, and well-maintained. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to others looking for a clean, safe place to stay.

I wouldn't recommend this hotel--relatively poor condition, not very well maintained, no shampoo, conditioner or lotions. Provisions are minimal. If you want working HVAC and hot water, this works, but there are FAR better values just down the road.

Helpful friendly staff, sketchy area but felt safe. Security gate to keep people that don’t belong out. Bath towels super small, but made it work. Our window was not securely locked because of the air conditioner, my husband was able to move the lock over and tighten it. Will definitely stay here again and highly recommend if you are looking for a no frills, inexpensive option.

This motel was not in the most affluent area of Seattle however it was an amazing find, the nicest staff, immaculate rooms and super safe with a secure electric gate! It gets 6 gold stars from me especially at the price point - I will definitely be back for my next cruise!

The entire area of Aurora is a place of female “workers” so. Basically a prostitute district, definitely not kid friendly for our family vacation. I wish there were direct reviews of areas so I would have known better. The staff was excellent though, she was friendly and helpful. We didn’t end up staying though and found another room, i didnt get a chance to see the place and experience it. It did look nice though, it was the general area that was not of interest. The establishment did have a gate with a code so if that’s a place you wouldn’t mind staying? Then you know it’s gated. However there were people walking in and out the gate close to midnight (we traveled in From out of town late). It’s an active place apparently? I will say again, the employee working was kind and helpful. The place from the outside appeared ok. The gate was a plus. I can’t say about the rooms because we didn’t check in. We were refunded and found another place more suitable for our family and in a different area. Hope this helps.

Great little place to stay. Clean and well maintained room. One of the few places that has parking. Only thing is if there are loud noises outside you will hear it. So be mindful at night.

Staff was very welcoming, unit was clean and the gated parking lot + bright lighting made it feel safe. The only issue was the VERY weak water pressure and heater. It would take several minutes for the water to warm up and it felt like there was barely any water pressure.

A bit of a red flag: the receptionist mentioned several times that drugs (specifically opioids) were prohibited, which made me feel like this might be a common issue there—not exactly the most 'relaxing' vibe. The room was also quite chilly with cold floors. It’s a fine 'crash pad' for one night after a long day of sightseeing, but keep your expectations in check if you’re used to higher-end hotels.

No breakfast, no pool, no meeting rooms- just an inexpensive, clean, safe, comfortable, place for a good night's (or many night's) sleep. I am not a part of the staff, management, or ownership of the motel, but I am a big fan of what they are doing with the motel. Stayed there several times and will stay again next time I'm in Seattle.

I recently spent a few nights here and had a very positive experience overall. It’s a solid choice for anyone prioritizing comfort and peace of mind. The Highlights Secure Parking: The gated parking lot was a huge plus. It’s a relief not having to worry about your car when staying in a new area. Warm Welcome: Check-in was a breeze. The staff was genuinely friendly and efficient, which set a great tone for the rest of the trip. Room Comfort & Space: I was impressed by how roomy and spacious the layout was. The room was perfectly clean, and the bed was incredibly comfortable—I slept like a log. One Area for Improvement Towel Quality: If I had one minor complaint, it would be the towels. They were quite thin and didn't really match the high quality of the bedding and the rest of the room. A quick upgrade to something fluffier would make the stay feel much more luxurious. Final Thoughts: Despite the thin towels, the pros far outweigh the cons. Between the security, the space, and the great service, I’d definitely stay here again!

Really enjoyed my two nights! Staff are super friendly and efficient. The rooms are clean and bed is super comfy. I was a solo traveller and was doing a road trip with my car. The gated parking is absolutely fantastic, I felt very safe!! Felt super secure and safe and really enjoyed my stay for the price. Lots of shops and food stores nearby such as Daiso, supermarkets, Fast food nearby. Convenient distance to downtown Seattle. Highly recommend to anyone staying for a budget price.

This is a great place to stay if needing a place to sleep and relax in north Seattle. It does not provide amenities for families traveling with children though. The parking lot is gated. There are a number of fast food options nearby. The room was clean and the staff helpful. I stay there when visiting Seattle to assist friends with home projects. The room is quiet and provided all I needed.

There was a fragrance in the room that was overpowering. Also, the overhead light in the bathroom was connected to a noisy fan. You couldn’t turn on the bathroom light without getting the noisy fan too. Not very relaxing for a bath or for putting on makeup, etc.

I am generally a good guest, and this was not my normal behavior - it was simply driven by exhaustion and not thinking clearly. Besides, I thought that's what the cleaning staff was for - surely, I didn't leave it in anywhere near the condition a rock star would have.

Only thing that would make the stay better would be access to an ice machine. Was a bit apprehensive at first when I saw the gated parking. After seening some of the wanderers outside of the gate after dark, I felt safer and a lot more secure having the parking area gated. I spend a lot of time in hotels/motels. The lady is always super nice. Actually very safe for the area because it is gated. Mostly clean worst I saw was a time when one room needed a little cleaning and the curtain might need to be tightened. As for the amenities a little light but so is the price for your wallet.

Clean room, comfortable bed everything we needed for a good nights rest before surgery the next morning. Very close, 6 minutes away, fro UW Northgate. If you ever need a room to stay before appointment or surgery at UW, this is a great place to stay!

Room was clean, staff person at check in a check out was friendly an helpful. Conveniently located to where I was going in north Seattle. Good family owned Vietnamese restaurants very nearby. The motel feels very safe, though I know there have historically been some safety concerns in the neighborhood, I felt quite safe walking to nearby restaurants. However, the main road outside the motel is VERY busy and not pedestrian friendly. Motel has some unusual security notices that might put off some guests, but this is because of the past history of the vicinity. Overall, you can’t beat the price, cleanliness, and convenience of this motel in the heart of north Seattle only a mile and a half from Puget Sound beaches and parks.

I enjoyed a small hotel because it’s easier to keep an eye on who is in the parking lot. Seattle can be unpredictable just like any other major city. The Hotel has a gate which kept the hotel only accessible to guests. The room was very clean, the owners put a lot of love and money into making it beautiful. The bed was soft not hard, I expected a hard bed like other places. We were in town for a concert and it was perfect for what we needed it for.

The price was great for the Seattle area, not necessarily the best part of town, but there was an electronic gate for residents only. The location being close to the light rail system was a big plus for traveling into the city. The front desk was more than helpful with useful information on how to get around. Very ,Very clean rooms and linens. Would like a little more counter space in bathroom. Pedestal sinks are pretty, but not very useful when you are traveling.

clean room Front door on the left was nearly impossible to get through because it was narrow and took super effort to open. I had an expensive bicycle I needed to bring inside and didn't make it through without slipping to the floor. Code for the gate needed more instructions to use.

The room was remodeled and spotless. It felt very safe. The only thing was it was kind of chilly for me... but warmed up after the heater was going for a while. It could just be me though, as I'm from Texas and have been freezing here on this visit! Lol

Shopping for most things available within a couple of miles north on same street, even Costco I think was just 4 miles north. I suggest using. I-5 access north of hotel location. Driving in Seattle is a nightmare if you are visiting from a flat part of the country with wide roads be prepared to drive on one-lane roads with 2-way traffic!!! We had 3 days of medical testing at the UWA Hospital Montlake and very happy I chose Best Motel after some other stays in hotels where we could not sleep at all. Our goal at a hotel/motel is to sleep at night... we have a nice home so don't need any fancy "get-away", just a safe, comfortable place to sleep ... if you can"t sleep why spend an extra $200/night for that to stay in an '****' hotel? This will be our home away from home in Seattle... wish every town had one of these!

Clean room, gracious and accomodating staff (shout out to Joy), seemed safe with security gate and good locking mechanisns on door, and it was quiet. The have a great policy to get your $100 hold back to you very quickly (within hours of departure for me) assuming, of course, there are no additional charges. I got an email on the same day that charges were reversed. This can be a problem with some motels/hotels..

I love this place

Everything was perfect except it was freezing so I had to ask for an extra blanket and the neighbors were loudly watching tv at all hours. The room was very clean and well kept. I’d stay here again and make sure to bring ear plugs next time.

Clean room, really nice staff, secure property, surprisingly quiet for its proximity to a busy road. Yes, it is a budget motel so it’s not exactly big on amenities, but it’s a ~20 minute drive from downtown Seattle, so it was well worth it for needing a place to crash for a night after seeing a show. I guess the only actual issue we had was the WiFi didn’t work for us, but it really didn’t matter because cell service was fine in the area, and everything else was great, so I would say that was pretty minor. Just FYI, they do hold a $100 deposit on a credit card during your stay, so make sure to factor that into your budget if money is tight. They released the hold not even two hours after we left, though, so it all worked out.

I went up to Seattle for a few days for a class and needed a place close to the city that would t break the bank. The area is not great. It’s right on a busy four lane and it’s all commercial around it but, for a place to stay? It’s great. The parking is secured by a gate. The rooms are clean, the beds comfortable, it’s modern because it has recently been updated and it’s quiet. The staff are very nice and I would stay there again in a heartbeat. I had no complaints whatsoever.

This place is a hidden gem in a not so great part of Seattle. That being said the property was gated well lit and felt very safe. Our room was spotless, updated, and the bed pretty comfortable. Staff were friendly and the room was quiet. There is plenty of dining options close which was nice. I would stay here again because of the price and the above mentioned qualities.

This place is a great little secret. I was concerned when I first booked it and concern. My first approached this property. The neighborhood is mediocre, but the ownership of this property has gone to beyond acceptable accommodations to provide a safe and comfortable hotel experience. There are no bells and whistles. It’s just a simple comfortable and friendly hotel. I will be staying here every time I come to the Seattle area. This will be my go to place.

I was worried that I wasn't able to check in late since I thought their check in time is until midnight, but then I called to confirm that they do have late check-ins till 2 am which is convenient. The front desk lady was very generous and friendly, and gave out clear instructions for the room policy and how to access the gate. The room was overall very clean and tidy, I would suggest adding a hair dryer if there's an option but they do provide the essentials such as face/body soap, shampoo and toothbrush + tooth paste. On the con side, there are mostly fast food restaurants around the area, not much dining options if you are looking for different food options.

Slept well - nice bed. Shower was hot and good water pressure. Could use some hooks or something to hang things on. Luggage rack to leave your suitcase on would be helpful. Had a nice little table and chairs in a "kitchen" area. Overall great stay - especially for the price. Would recommend for anyone on a budget.

The shower seemed like it could have been a bit more clean, bed was comfy, liked the added measure of the gate for the parking lot, very affordable, very friendly and welcoming staff both at check in and check out, good size room for 2 people.

Very nice facility in a sketchy neighborhood. The limited access through the gate and well lit parking lot provide actual security along with the feeling of being secure. This place is a diamond in the rough. Nice clean basic rooms, almost squeaky clean. Seems to be freshly painted. Bed very comfortable. Front desk staff great. If I still had my own business, I'd hire the front desk lady for sure.

The staff here was incredibly friendly; I had a great experience. Loved that it was a gated facility because this area is definitely not for the faint of heart. My one complaint about the room is the floors were filthy. My brand new socks turned black on the bottoms in 5 minutes so I wore my shoes the rest of the time I was in the room.

The bed was comfortable and the room was clean, though a bit cramped. Nice mini fridge and TV. Spacious bathroom, though it took a while to obtain hot water in the shower.

Floors and rugs were very dirty. If you walked without shoes your socks or feet were very dirty. Room/ air handler smelled of urine. They had placed an air freshener near the air handler without much result.

I just spend one night and it was all good. Went to Seattle to spend the weekend and we slept in this hotel. Its not in downtown but for the price difference it’s worth. The room was very clean, the bed really comfortable. I received the $100 deposit back on the same day that I checked out. The motel has a gate so the motel surrounding didn’t really bother me as I just went to the hotel to sleep for a couple hours.

The family that runs the Best Motel is terrific. They are helpful and courteous. And the room itself was very clean. What I didn't know from the reviews was that Aurora Ave, where the Motel is located, is one of the worst places in Seattle. But I figured it out when the reception agent had me sign forms that said no illegal activities would take place in my room. First time I've ever had to sign such a form, but I understand completely why the owners require it, as all kinds of illegal activities take place on the street just outside of the Motel. And so, while I rate the owners and the folks who work there very highly -- their service is first rate -- I do think that visitors unfamiliar with Seattle like myself should know more about the location. If you need peace and quiet and a location far from illegal activities, then the Best Motel, for all of its internal qualities, may not be altogether suitable.

While the location is a little suspect, the hotel property is secure, super clean and the staff/family who runs it are friendly, considerate and courteous! The bed was very comfortable, we had the king size bed room. For the money spent, it was superb! Plus, it was near the NW Hospital which was critical for our Seattle visit.

I didn't like the area. The Motel did its best to secure the property. Heard a gun shot at 3:36 am. Drove down looking for a shopping center and saw numerous prostitutes walking the street. (Aroura/Hwy 99) Nice people at hotel. To bad its location is very bad.

The shower was extremely slippery and the shower curtain is disgusting. It’s an old motel that they’ve taken and made it look very nice, but it is an old motel.

The staff were very helpful and friendly. I appreciated the security of having a gated parking area. The room looked very nice and was clean, and it had thick curtains to help block out light. The bed was a little bit too firm for my taste, but not bad. One little thing that would've been nice is for there to be room in the bathroom to put toiletries. There wasn't a counter, and there was just a small, light shelf stuck to the wall that wasn't stable or big enough for me to put my toiletry bag on. Overall, this was a nice place where I would stay again.

Was skeptical of a motel claiming to be the “best motel” but was pleasantly impressed by my stay. The guy working the check in was extremely friendly and left a lasting impression. This property has a gated parking lot, which I was thankful for after realizing I left the window down in the car overnight. The room was pleasant and mostly clean, with my only complaint being the floor making my feet dirty. During check out, one of the housekeepers saw I was heading to check out and took the key from me so i didn’t have to walk all the way. She was also extremely happy and friendly. I would definitely stay here again!

The staff was courteous, however during the check in process, I felt like I was purchasing a car. They ask for a lot of information, signatures and initials on a contract and they make copies of each persons ID that is staying there. The location was a little sketchy. There was a homeless camp across the street, hence the electric gate to get in.

The place is recently renovated, but very cheaply done. It smelled heavily of disinfectant. Unfortunately, I didn’t realize the area it’s located in is frequented by prostitutes and homeless people. They do have a locked gate and cameras, and I did not have a problem. Just be prepared. The neighborhood is quite undesirable. The room was adequate. Nothing fancy, and only minor signs of wear and tear.

I had heard that this area was so so and had a bit of prostitution in the area. However, reviews were positive and mentioned a gated parking lot. Both were true. I originally booked this hotel because it was very hard finding a hotel in our price range in town for these dates. While the area was off putting, the property was clean and taken care of. On top of it, the staff was very friendly and things felt secure with the parking gate. I would come back again, but as a back up hotel.

The room was well-equipped with a microwave, mini fridge, TV with working channels, WiFi, space for clothes storage, and a closet—which made the stay even more convenient. A big shoutout to the front desk lady—she was super nice and kind, and even took the time to chit chat with me about the event we had just attended before checking in. That kind of friendliness really makes a difference. Also, if your room faces the neighboring property, you might get a little extra entertainment courtesy of the hookers next door 😂 Minor quirks aside, it was a solid and enjoyable stay. I’d definitely consider coming back in the future!

Our room had no hot water. Gront counter said they were aware of this issue. Said there was a note in room saying no hot water. None found.

The room was exactly what we needed for one night. The AC was the only thing we worried about because it wasn't turning on. I told the girls in the front office and came right away to inspect it. So as soon as they were ready to move us to a different room the AC kicked in lol it just took a bit for it to work. After that we had no issues. The area where the motel is located isn't the greatest. Seems a little sketchy but the motel is gated so that definitely made us feel safe and better about our safety and our car. There is a code you enter if you leave to explore and come back late and the gate is closed.

My stay here was great! Heidi was amazing and so very helpful!. The location is not the best, but property has a fenced in area where your car will be safe. The bus line is not far. Several food locations nearby. Room was very clean. I would give it a 5 except no amenities but I would stay and recommend this place to anyone.

The only con, and it’s a small one, is that there was no counter space in the bathroom.

There were no tissues provided, and you definitely get a budget vibe. The bolt lock could not be bolted from the outside, when leaving. So...a mixed bag. But definitely reasonably priced.

Good place to stay for the cost but we had a few things missing that could have made the our stay a little better. One, they could have had another bed side table with a lamp and plug to charge a phone etc. Second thing Bathroom needs a shelf or counter to put your toiletry bags on, had to put them on the toilet when using and after use they went into the kitchenette.

Great spot not too far from Northgate Mall LRT station for easy access to downtown Seattle. Although the neighborhood has a reputation for being a bit sketchy, we found the accommodation to be safe and secure and loved the restaurants available nearby. Reasonable price and clean and comfortable. Pillows on the bed were okay so if you're driving in I recommend bringing a pillow from home.

Great little oasis in a not-so-great part of town. They have a combination of infrastructure and policies that help it yo rise above the neighborhood. Ckean, quiet, friendly.

Great motel! Clean (I walked around the room with bare feet on the laminate wood floors and the bottom of my feet were clean. so rare!) The service was amazing. Location isn't great as it is in a seedier part of town and the amenities at the motel are little to none but if you are looking for a good solid, clean, motel/hotel that is close to everything (Seattle Center, Pike Place Market, etc.) I would easily recommend this one.

Clean and renovated rooms provide the basics plus frig and microwave. Area surrounding hotel is less traveler oriented, with tire stores, repair places, lack of sidewalks etc.

I was a little nervous about staying in this neighborhood but it has a locking gate and they have a bunch of policies that keep it safe. The room was freshly remodeled and very comfortable.

Never been to Seattle but the one absolute standout is the fact the property is gated. If your worried your car could get stolen in an unfamiliar city than worry not. You get a code for the gate if you need to sneak out for whatever reason (dinner).

I was greeted by very friendly and helpful staff (I believe he is the owner) - that is so important to me. The girl who cleaned my room did a magnificent job! very detail oriented, everything refreshed!!! I needed to extend my stay and they were super helpful and accommodating. One of the staff even showed concern for my safety while in Seattle; she warned me that cars do get broken into if people can see stuff in them. Even though there were many homeless/unfortunate people in the area I still felt fairly safe because the hotel was gated and I believe the owner and his family lived on site.

We knew we had booked an economy room at a very reasonable rate, and our stay lived up to expectations. The room was small but very clean and management was very friendly and helpful. King size bed was comfortable and gated parking was a definite plus. We would rate comfort higher if there was a bedside table and lamp on both sides of the bed and 2 pillows per side. Most surprising was the lack of a closet or anywhere else to hang clothes. What looked at first glance like a curtained closet was actually covering a door to an adjacent room. Would also have appreciated a desk or table with chair. But we greatly appreciated the owner's understanding when we had to cancel a res for son and grandson on short notice due to a family emergency in Idaho. Thanks!

Staff were very friendly and went out of their way to make us feel welcome. We left a valuable in the room after checking out and they immediately made all efforts to reach out and notify us.

With that said, this property belies the neighborhood in which it sits. The rooms are recently renovated and clean, the parking lot is isolated from the road by a nice iron gate and the staff are all very friendly and responsive with requests. The rates are great for the service you get and I will make Best Motel my regular stop when I visit Seattle from now on.

Staff was very friendly!! Great price. Bed a little uncomfortable but overall a great experience.

The place itself was GREAT and had a fence to keep the riff raft off the property However- around the property had some homeless people

Staff was great, but this property is not very nice. I was moved from one of the older rooms that had barely 1 plug svailable to one of the newer ones. I just didnt think the place was worth the price

Excellent value at a great budget! Minimal but clean comfortable rooms with clean bedding and parking included! Very friendly staff at checkin and upfront with their policies and rules. It looks like a family runs the motel and they really care about their customers and run a good business. The room has a fridge and coffee maker. The walk in shower is very spacious. The gate for the parking lot really makes a difference in feeling safe and that my vehicle is secure. Don’t let the location deter you, this business earns their quality! Just what i needed to visit Seattle without breaking the bank!

The reception was great, very nice person. She decided to change the room for us because of our need to rest after the flight.

Great hotel

The hotel room was incredibly cute. The staff was amazing. On arrival we were greated with a very warm welcome, and given the best restaurant recommendations. The property has round the clock surveillance as well as a security gate that closed after 9pm which made feel at ease. The price was also tremendous! I would recommend this hotel to anyone!!! 😁

I arrived WAYYY past check in hours (5 AM) after a long drive. The office was closed, but I gave the owner a call and she happily opened the doors and welcomed me in so I could sleep for a few hours before continuing my road trip. AMAZING service, gated parking lot, and a really clean room with a big bed. Would totally stay here again. Cheap price doesn’t always mean cheap service ❤️

This motel is a hidden gem - clean with an incredibly comfortable bed. It is the only motel with a secure, gated entrance lot in the area. The parking lot is small yet has enough space and is brightly lit. Staff is super friendly. The owners really made this place shine for the location and affordability. Had to write a review with praise.

Arrived for a one night stay and the guy at the front desk was so nice and helpful! gave us a bunch of recommendations for food and things to do! Motel rooms were nice, clean and everything you’d need for a one night stay. transportation was close by which was a plus’ highly recommend!

Super strict rules as if in another hot zone country.

The customer service is excellent and they were very accommodating. We came into town earlier than expected and they allowed us to check in early with no extra charge. The area isn’t the best but we felt safe. The room was clean and smelt nice. My only complaint is the room had no outlets! The bathroom had no outlets. There were two outlets next to the bed with the lamps but no Mirror. It made getting ready more difficult.

I don't often give reviews, but will for Best Motel. My husband had surgery at UW Northwest Hospital. We needed something close and the location was perfect. The building was older, but has been remodeled and very clean. The staff was very helpful and any minor issue was promptly dealt with. As i was alone, the security was very appreciated and i felt safe both in the room and with my car in the parking lot. The beds were very comfortable. We would not hesitate to stay here in the future.
