    I had problems first night there. There were people running up and down the stairs til 3 am. I also spoke to the maid about cleaning my room and gave my room number to the front desk to be cleaned but they didn’t clean it. There was a roach in my bed and crawling on the wall. The breakfast staff was helpful.

    This hotel, though being older, is very comfortable. It is centrally located on highway 17 with convenient access. The staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast is basic, but you won’t leave hungry. It would be nice if they would add some fresh fruit to the options available. For a reasonably priced stay, I’d stay here again.

    woke up in the middle of the night to the copius smell of someones marajuana smoking....was so bad I had to spray my deodorant throughout the room to try and mask the smell. I loved that the property was a pet friendly property, but there was so much dog feces around the property on the grass areas I was afraid my dog my catch Provo so just minimal time with her outside...the room floors didn't appear to have been property mopped in a while; when I took my shoes off and walked around the room, my socks ended up being brown on the bottom. When I needed assistance with a room issue, I waited at the front desk for 10 minutes before somone came out of a back room to assist me.

    The staff was very friendly even though they messed up my reservation. the pool was very nice i was very upset because I had to be on the second floor and I had a daughter with a broken foot I was supposed to be on the first floor when I called.I was told I was gonna be on the first floor I got there, and I was on the second, and every time we had to come in and out my daughter with a broken foot had to get on her hands.And knees and climb up the goddamn stairs.... The breakfast was bad.The eggs were under cooked every day.There was no bacon, there was barely anything there. the beds were so disgustingly.Uncomfortable, they creaked anytime you made a movement.

    Great stay. Breakfast station was good as well with Waffle, Sausage,Eggs, Potatoes, Cereal. The desk attendant at my check in was VERY accommodating. Will stay again.

    The guy at 3rd shift is very nice & they are dog friendly! There were bugs (roaches) first thing walking into the hotel room all over sink area and closet. Around floor of the bed. Countertops were sandy along with picking the tv up after seeing around it- I decided to do the same for the refrigerator next to counter/dresser. Looked like it hadn’t been touched/cleaned in months. I had my German Shepherd in this room. Bugs had gotten on her blanket on the floor - I shook it out well and everything, I’m unpacking and there was 2/3 on the blanket still stuck. The pull out couch was creeking like it was about to break & the mattress pad was honestly nasty.

    They offered everything we needed and everything worked as expected. We were very happy that the facility was pet friendly and were able to bring our dog. One thing to mention, the walls are very thin, so don’t be surprised if you hear extracurricular activities. We are pretty sure a baby was being made at breakfast time hours.

    Check in was great..after check in went out to visit friends..upon returning was going to watch TV in room only to find out there was no sound on tv...told front desk but they said maintenance has already left and offered another room but we already had all our belongings in room...can't get perfection all the time but at least the room was clean

    kept coming to eat. Mind you it was 8am! Cleaners were rude because we had dogs there THAT WE PAID FOR & said they didn’t wanna clean up after them when our room was cleaning leaving out than it was coming in Front desk people told us that the cleaners were lazy and told them about our dirty dogs and we only been there for 30mins . i come to this hotel every year when we take our dogs to the beach but this wil be our LAST year promise you .. hotel smells like cigarettes and weed. never comin back

    The rooms could have definitely been cleaner ... The amenities ie: microwave needs to be updated, the door wouldn't hardly open and it was just old and didn't work great ... My room needed to be caressed, it felt old and dirty... The door going outside did not lock so anybody can walk in at anytime and it was kinda scary walking in the side door ... Gnat's in my room totally drove me crazy

    My room was clean, quiet and comfortable plus the HVAC worked as it should. I wasn't expecting much from the free breakfast but it was outstanding! I doubt the equal of those waffles can be found in ANY fine restaurant! If you leave here hungry after breakfast, it certainly isn't the hotels fault because they knocked it out of the park! I'm sorry but I don't have anything for this space.

    The rooms are very average. This property is far better suited for road construction workers out on the job, than for travelers headed to vacation. Definately a budget hotel. Breakfast is far below average compared to other hotels. The staff meet our front smoking and the oder flows through the front doors. The back door is propped open all night for workers to go outside and smoke - leaving the hotel assessable to anyone all night long.

    We arrived at 10pm and checked in and walked up to room and door open to our room and god knows who had been in there. There was no hot water for a shower and the room wasn’t cleaned well. Then check out time is 11 and before 10 am housekeeping is banging on door and trying to open and come in, I work night shift so I needed to sleep til check out but that didn’t happen And I’m not a complainer but not happy at all

    Breakfast was decent. Condition of property leaves a lot to be desired. Room was OK but hallways were in terrible shape. Carpet faded, oilly and ragged. Front desk was rarely manned. Clientele was mostly workers who were in the area. Nothing wrong with that, but we were the only couple or family that I saw over 3 days. Wanted to change prepaid reservation from 3 nights to 2 nights upon check-in. Motel would not allow change nor refund the one night's stay. It was cheap and that was what we got. Will not stay there again, even if have to pay more to stay elsewhere.

    The room was not clean, hair dryer did not work, day 2 the toilet stopped working, I did not feel safe. I checked out after two days and found another place to stay. Hotels.com would not refund the remaining two days that I did not stay there. So I paid for four days, and stayed only 2 miserable days there. I will never use Hotels.com to book another hotel.

    Our water was hot the first night, then the next 2 days it was freezing cold, making it unbearable to take a shower. Then when we went to use the hairdryer, it wasn't working. Told the front desk staff about the complaint, the maintenance guy went and reset the hot water heater. Even after that it was warm, but not hot. The front desk staff provided me with a hairdryer. She was exceptionally pleasant. Even offered for us to move to another room. When I told her we were having to leave for work, she assured me she'd leave a message for the manager. And I watched as she left him a note. I have yet to receive a call from the manager. No hot showers. Broken hairdryer No return call or concern from manager

    The hotel staff was great. They did not do room service during our stay, but did give us what we asked for. The lighting was poor in the bedroom, however, it was hard to sleep at night. We didn't sleep for the whole week because it was so noisy. The other boarders kept going up and down the stairs, slamming doors, and talking or arguing rigt outside our window. It didn't help that our room was right under the stairs. Unfortunately, we had to have a bottom floor room due to knee problems and all of them were booked up. They had asked me on the phone if I wanted a top or bottom room and I had told them bottom, but when we arrived, they had prepared us a top floor. I then told them we had reserved a bottom floor. They said they were all filled up, only one had just cleared out and was getting ready to be cleaned if we were willing to wait. We shouldn't have had to wait, and he did give us a "treat bag" for having to wait. The smoking section was also situated right outside our room window which let in a lot of smoke. I do not want to sound like it was awful. The biggest problem was the other guests who were going up and down the stairs and slamming down all night every night. Also, the hall light was on all night, which seeped into the room. The beds and pillows were very uncomfortable. We actually were in pain as well as exhausted from lack of sleep. Besides these things, the hotel was fine. The breakfasts were good and all appliances worked as they should.

    I had a bed for the night to sleep, thank god we only had to stay one night Our room door would not open or close easily, at all. If you closed it would have awoken everyone in the building. Definitely could have been a fire trap.

    The property was very well maintained! Very clean honestly one of the nicest Days Inn I’ve been too! The maintenance man was very rude! Yelled bud cussed at me when he could have simply just asked me to shut my window. I have never been treated so badly or talked to so rudely to by an employee at a hotel! The front desk people and the housekeepers all were amazing tho!

    Poor check-in support I requested a ground floor room when I reserved and when I did early online check in got there was told just gave away last ground floor room to person ahead of me! No elevator and was placed at the opposite end of the staircase on the 2nd floor! Handicapped person this is how I was treated!!! Got in the room tv only broadcast in Spanish and kept shutting off. Staff did fix that. Most horrible days inn stay will never stay again!!!!

    The room was very clean. The common areas were very clean. However, the carpet looks like it’s original to the building . You couldn’t clean it enough to get to even look decent. Furniture is dated. I suppose the only way to keep prices down is to not invest in the place. IDK. Staff person was fine nothing great. Volume to remote didn’t work so have to manually adjust. No big deal but you’d think they would get that fixed. Fitness center was under renovation. That should have been noted. Overall, it met my need. One nights stay.

And the mattress on the pull out sofa was dirty and had several large stains. There was not any additional bedding to be able to use the pull out sofa bed either.

    The toilet looked like it hadn't been cleaned and the staff weren't very supportive. The walls were so thin you could hear people in and out of their rooms all night which made our dogs bark and woke up our baby. We were just not very happy with our stay and wish we would've just booked a STVR to begin with.

    Front desk concierge was very friendly...a bit untidy but he was kind. Facility was ok...odd smell in hallway...room was meh...fridge was dirty with spill left from a previous customer. No hot water - warm for a few minutes then it went cold. TV remote was not synched to television so not able to use. You can tell it was attempting to get more modern but still mediocre. Could hear people nearby other televisions heard quite loudly and beds although comfortable had a spring box that was very loud when you move on it

    Breakfast and laundry service were great for motel breakfast. More than continental options. Eggs, sausage, hash browns, cereal, waffles, milk, juice, coffee, and several yogurt flavors. 3 shift employee needs to seek other employment options, very rude and harassing. Guests and other staff complain about the attitude as well. I recommend the motel and helpful staff. Clean and any questions answered except 3rd shift.

    Due to an unforeseen water situation at home, we were forced to stay in a hotel for the night. Upon entering the front door, the smell of cigarette smoke, wet dog, and weed should have been our indicator to cancel the reservation. The young man at the front desk was friendly. This property does not have an elevator, which made taking luggage upstairs difficult. The room also smelled of smoke. There were dips in the flooring, bugs under items that were not moved during cleaning, and a shower curtain with mold on it.

    Hotel room was rundown. Fridge thermometer dial was broken off and the fridge didn’t get cold enough. Baseboard was coming away from the wall in bathroom and flooring needs to be redone. Shower wall had a crack and faucet and drain needs to be replaced. Toilet seat needs to be replaced as well as the coating was bubbled in places. Door to bathroom looks like it had a mirror previously because they painted over the glue that use to hold it in place. Tv was old and didn’t have many channels that worked. There was always someone outside drinking out in the open, morning 9am and night. I will say this is the second time I’ve stayed here and the room we had previously was a little better. After this stay we will not be staying here again. Breakfast wasn’t anything special but it did the job.

    Staff was rude and unhelpful. Cleaning staff pounded on our door at 9:15am with the "do not disturb" signage up. Demanded we leave... Checkout wasn't until 11am.. (considering how poorly the room was cleaned when we arrived... I'm not sure why they were in such a hurry...) When I approached the front desk with my concerns I got a shrug and "They do that sometimes... We'll have another talk with them." The breakfast was gross and the drink machine didn't work. I don't expect Michelin star food... But at least something not stale. Overall not very happy with the stay. The back door was broken and left unlocked... It wasn't worth what we paid to stay.

    We stayed for two weeks in one of the rooms on the first floor at first it wasn’t that bad except the bathroom was still dirty from the last person but after a few days some black mold started to form on the ceiling but before that we found a cockroach on the floor I asked to have it sprayed no one ever came but anyway they moved us to the second floor which was much nicer for the rest of our stay the staff was very nice though manger was sadly useless

    There is no elevator and you have to carry everything upstairs. The dead bolt in the room would not lock securely into place. There was dirt around the beds and an old chicken nugget on the floor from previous guests. The bathroom door would not shut and latch properly except with great force; you practically had to slam it, which was very loud and I’m sure disturbed other guests. The toilet would make a screaming noise for a full minute after being flushed. Again, extremely loud and disturbing. We could not flush the toilet during the night because it would have woken everyone up. The water never did get hot, so I had to take a lukewarm shower. The bedding had an overpowering smell of strong scented laundry detergent. I am sensitive to strong smelling detergents and it gave me a headache while trying to sleep. We did not stay for breakfast; just got up early and left. We will not stay at a Day’s Inn ever again.

    We wanted to find a property between our destination and found this, and it looks decent online, but it was a rundown, dirty and the hallways were musty and smelled of marijuana and cigarette smoke. We were in a room 202 and the beds were the squeakiest, most uncomfortable beds I have ever slept in my entire life. Every time we moved a little bit they squeaked like crazy and it reminded me of sleeping on a pullout couch bed. If it wasn’t late after the concert we went to, I would’ve requested our money back and just drove the 45 minutes home.

    Absolutely the worst hotel room ive ever stepped foot in. Not only does the shower have a high pitched scream the entire time youre showering, but you also have to shower with cockroaches! Woke up at 1am on the first night of our beach trip to cockroaches in my belongings and crawling around my feet. Instantly packed my things and got out. Luckily the man at the front desk was kind and worked with us, so I got a full refund. Don't stay here unless you want to take home bugs with you.

    Staff is very nice. Carpets in hall areas are disgustingly filthy. Floors in room haven’t been cleaned properly. When my dog got on bed, dirt marks everywhere. Hair in bathtub. No shower curtain and when given one, I had to put it up. Hot water surely isn’t hot. Overall, I had the “icks” while trying to sleep.

    Overall room was dirty. Bed was stained, hair and dirt in shower, no hot water. Requested a room on the first floor due to medical reasons, received a room on the first floor and they don’t have elevators. The door didn’t seal all the way around, so it was hard to keep the light out and the a/c in. There was a strong smoke smell in the hallways and rooms.     We chose this property because it was pet friendly. The checkin process was easy. The room itself was poorly cleaned. Mirrors had handprints on them, sofa soiled with stains, bedskirt soiled with stains, fridge and microwave had food spillage. The TV did not work. Very good location and relatively quiet considering proximity to highway. A/C worked fine. Shower water was slow to heat but finally got hot. We chose to check out early and only stayed one night.

    We had a great time! Driving distance to the beach. All staff were respectful and helpful. The rooms were being worked on but we did not mind that. It was very clean and the maids went out of their way to help us with whatever we needed. Breakfast was the same everyday. We enjoyed it a few times during our stay. The pool looked very clean and inviting. We didnt use it as we spent the day at the beach. Great bargain on pricing!!! Thank you to everyone there. We will be coming back!!

    This had to be the worst hotel experience I have ever had. Between the barking dogs all night long, the thin walls where yes you can hear everything the people next to you are doing, the sketchy people who roam the property and the halls, oh and the room door would not lock. We decided to leave 3 days early and find somewhere completely different. 10/10 wound not recommended.

    At first I was like it’s just a older place so I was okay then next thing it smelt like cigarettes inside and it says smoke free so I went on I’m not one to go tell on things then we went to our room thought it was gonna be okay then we find roaches 3 actually so I went to front desk basically they stated they just booked the last room no apologizes which it’s not there personal fault but refund or something would have been nice I was told I can call Tuesday to talk to a manager then we went to ask a maid for some towels and wash cloths and found the maid bent over just rocking back and forth and I was worried something was wrong so I went and got another person to check on her but I’m thinking she had taken some type of substance because the way she was acting just disappointed in paying that much for all this to occur I get things happen but apologizes and some kind of solution would have been nice we were here for a ball tournament would not recommend unless they are to fix some of the issues

    I’ve stayed here twice. It’s super convenient for where I needed to be and I’ve always had a good experience here between the staff and cleanliness etc. I asked to checkin a little early for a funeral and they let me. No problem. Pretty clean, no bugs and all we needed for 1 night close to where we needed to be for multiple events. All in all I’d say not the Ritz but for the $$$ and locale it was worth it.     The room was subpar. Rust and mildew/mold on lampshades. The chair in the corner was heavily stained and had mildew/mold on it. I wouldn’t let my daughter sit in it at all. The beds were uncomfortable and had the same mildew stains on the mattress as the chair did. The door was all crooked in the frame and the deadbolt wouldn’t work. The maids did not speak English which isn’t a problem except they were not understanding that I didn’t want them to come in the room. They were very pushy and rude and kept reaching in the door passed me and pointing at the trash can and washcloth I was currently using on my face. I finally said NO THANK YOU and shut the door because she wasn’t getting the hint to move on. We were weirded out by it. Definitely will not be staying here again.

    The hotel is in close proximity to the highway and there was a lot of noise from the traffic. Also, the room was located next to the stairs and exit which you could hear people coming in and out of the hotel and running upstairs. The couch in the room looks old and the bed was sitting on a frame that made a lot of noise. The water in the shower was more on the cold side. Finally, the toilet had a piece of would under it to keep it level.

    Overall ok, just a few issues such as staff being really loud in the hallways outside of our door waking us up around 7am. Internet was spotty and went out completely on our last night there. Also hot water ran out really fast, not sure if the weather has anything to do with it or not but you would think a hotel would be able to efficiently cover taking a hot shower for 10 min. Water was also cut off completely one evening and wasn't notified about it until we had to call the front desk.

    TLDR: cockroaches. This is the only pet friendly hotel in Shallotte ($15/night/pet) which is how we ended up here. We stayed last year for Christmas and were actually impressed with how clean & well maintained everything was, so without checking the reviews, we booked again this year. It is a mess. On check in our room (109) had dirty floors, a door without a functional deadbolt due to the door having a large gap between it & the frame, hair & skin flakes on the bed skirt which clearly wasnt changed, dark patches on the walls & ceilings which were water damage at best & mold at worst, and a pull out couch which was FILTHY. I lifted a couch cushion for a bed bug inspection (FYI we did not encounter any bed bugs) to find the couch has white mold inside it and my dog wouldnt go near it. That all was gross, but we've done alot of traveling staying in budget motels, it was manageable for 3 nights. We stayed anyway. Then our second morning I turned on the bathroom light and watched german cockroaches scurry. We packed up & left. I don't know what happened here over the course of a year, but clearly the owners no longer care at all & intend to just milk their patrons while letting the place rot into disrepair. The front desk guy was very nice though.

    Let me start out by saying the front desk was awesome. Your hotel is trash. I wouldn’t stay there ever again. First you had roaches my door and room 201 was not sealed. I can see the light you have someone sleeping in the hall doors to the entrance to your hotels on the side has no lock on them. The phone system in your hotel does not work, I’m sending you some pictures of your hotel. I will never stay in none of your hotels again. Oh yes, we stayed there for four days. The hot water ran for one day no running hot water. The bef frame had A piece of tim under the mattress for $89 a night it reminded me of motel six we leave the lights on. I understand that’s a hotel for the people that are doing construction in that area but your location is right next to a funeral home and people come in town for funerals and that’s where they got to stay in. Again, your front desk guy Brian Willoughby was great, but your hotel has safety problems stayed in a couple of your hotels before and felt safe didn’t feel too safe. I was in town for a funeral.

    When we arrived there were an extraordinary amount of dried boogers stuck to the walls. The bathrooms were dirty and pasta sauce or blood was on the wall. Cockroaches were through the lobby and common areas. The washers and dryers were broken and needed to be serviced. All of the metal was rusted. Paint on the walls was missing where a lot of dents that needed to be repaired. The light plate covers were filthy. The exhaust fan in the bathrooms were covered with mold and dust. We had to buy clorox wipes and clean the walls and the room. It was disgusting and filthy! The orange juice machine pumped out rancid juice and was unedible. Find another place to stay. I do not recommend this location.
