Carlton House Motel

This is a no frills motel/extending living/apt building that is that is outdated interiorly BUT has a small clean heated pool and a room with kitchen (has large fridge stove and microwave), dining room, small living room and sliding doors to our 2 beds and bathrooms. The best part is you walk 2 blocks and you are at upham park beach which is free. You save hundreds per night staying here versus the hotels on the beach. You cant beat it it was clean and staff and guests are friendly. There are also restaurants withinn walking distance

Basic but perfect for what we needed- comfortable beds and a close walk to the beach and restaurants.

The staff of this location was super friendly, very helpful. The facilities were very clean and had everything that you could need for a great beach visit.

Very small, very clean, great pool (don’t forget the jets) and a great location close to the beach other amenities. If you are driving, bring your own umbrella and beach chairs, if not, you should stop by a Walmart. It was a great experience overall. They provide pool/beach towels and they have a working laundry. It takes 8 quarters per load. They also have an nice machine next to the laundry.

The room was very clean, and I really appreciated that trash was picked up daily along with fresh towels. The kitchenette was the perfect size and had everything we needed—fridge, sink, and microwave. The flat-screen smart TV was a nice bonus too. Another big plus was the parking—it was easy and convenient, which made coming and going stress-free. One thing I loved most was how quiet the property is—it made for a really relaxing stay. Check-in and check-out were both quick and easy. I can’t wait to get back to St. Pete Beach and stay here again!

Nicely situated for walks to beach & eateries.

Our stay at the Carlton House was pleasant. The owner was accommodating when I realized we would b on the 2nd floor and would have difficulty climbing the stairs. She quickly made arrangements with first floor accommodation as well as handicap parking right in of front of our apt. The grounds were nice with a pool and several sitting areas along with gas grills. It was a short walk (aprox 3 min walk to the beautiful Upham beach on St. Pete. Several restaurants within walking distance. Thanks again to the owners as well as housekeeping for replenishing and keeping out apt clean daily. ☺️

The property owner called us at around 11am on the day of check-in to say that she had overbooked. She wanted us to stay 2 nights at a different property & then come back to Carlton for the 3rd night. We were very frustrated & quite shocked that we received this call. We hung up to discuss, called Carlton House back, & she said she figured it out. It really messed up our energy & enthusiasm about our trip.

Carlton House is a great place to stay. Close to the beach and lots of shopping, including Cory St. Wouldn't stay anywhere else!

We called the hotel multiple times to let them know we were going to be checking in a little late, after office would be closed. They did not return our multiple calls. Finally got a hold of them an hour before we got on our flight. Unnerving not to know if or how we were going to have a room for the night. Our tv did not work upon arrival. The staff was never in the office when we needed answers. Did not know if you just left keys in room and just left when you were ready to leave because no one was in office. We did get clean towels every day. Great location near beach and multiple restaurants

We had a wonderful visit to this small, but conveniently located motel close to the beach. We had no idea there was also an authentic Italian cafe at the end of the block with delicious coffee and pastries, sandwiches, etc.! Our room was a 1BR, with a bathroom, kitchenette, table for eating and a living room. It would help if there was a binder giving some local information, such as where to buy groceries, a good pizza place, etc. We had to buy dishwashing liquid and paper towels; it would have been nice if those were included. There were ample dishes, flatware, glasses, etc. Hair dryer in the room. Very nice, relaxing and wonderful. We hope to be back in a couple of years.

It was a very cute cottage! Enough room for one or two people. No elevator and many stairs (just 3 steps) Pleasant courtyard and right by the beach - 2 blocks - at the end of the streets. Definitely, I will stay there again...and free parking which is important by the beach.

Very clean comfy

We are locals who stayed here during our termite tenting. The rooms are super clean with all the amenities you need. The hosts are lovely people and we had a great time here. It's a short walk to the beach, restaurants, shopping and the bars so the location is just perfect. Great place for your out-of-town guests or a staycation of your own!

We did not sleep there is was terrible the carpet was gone many years ago. It was just half again of the carpet. In the bathroom it was rusty here and there.

The pool was very enjoyable> Beautiful room and very new> Plan to visit many more times for very exciting vacation>

Very quiet

The were renovating the office and no sign to tell me where to check in. Finally someone pointed me to one of the actual rooms. It’s old school, they use keys. The lady that worked there was a little hard to understand, did not even ask me for ID, just had me fill out a card. The room was like a one bedroom apt. Room could use an update. When checking out, there was no one to be found. I just left the key on the table as I found it, and sent an email to the property thru hotels.com

Nice little boutique motel near the beach. Newly renovated. Waffle House right down the street for breakfast.

Very safe area. Easy 2 block walk to a beautiful beach with amazing sunsets. Two good restaurants with live music and great food in easy walking distance. Still a lot of damage in the area from Hurricane Milton in 2024. The property is comfortable and mostly functional, including the pool.

The manager and staff were very accommodating! The room had everything you need : bigger fridge, kitchen sink and stove. It was a very short 5 min walk to beach .

Property was lovely with pool, no car needed as hoped. About $45 from tampa airport in lyft and $30 to PIE airport. About 3 blocks from beach access where food, bathroom, and shower available. You can purchase chair $10 & umbrella $45 on upham beach. Walgreens and gas station is a good walk about $7 lyft to beach. Enterprise car rental near Walgreens open only weekdays about $100 for 24 hrs. Waffle house, Bouy's Brunch restaurant, Smoking Monkey Restaurant & Live music, and 82 Degrees Bar/The Saints Stay were all walking distance. Would love to return.

Charming property. Very clean. Staff is friendly. Location is safe with plenty of restaurants within walking distance. Beach is a short walk away.

Awesome little place to stay.close enough to the hustle n bustle,but not in it.

Location was great. Due to weather, we wanted to come a day early & it was no problem. This was during the off season, but they were very accommodating.

The motel was clean, well looked after and the staff were friendly. Centrally located between the beach and restaurants.

Standard older style motel. Clean and comfortable but the room did have a bit of a faint weird smell

What a cute find! My boyfriend and I love trying new places for staycations.The office was locked when we came to check in, so we called and checked in over the phone and the lady was very nice and fast with our check in. It seems that no one was staying at the motel while we were there so we had it all to ourselves. It was clean, quiet, and near all of our favorite places we love to visit while we are here. Walkability is great, and a lot of the good breakfast and lunch spots are all within a 10 minute walk. You will not be disappointed!

Even though the office was closed upon my afternoon arrival and still closed upon my departure at 10 am they responded through the phone number they make available with my check in and check out. I would definitely recommend staying here and it is so close to the beach along with an array of restaurants within walking distance.

The staff here is amazing!! Everyone is very helpful, rooms are well kept. We will definitely be back!

Safe, clean and close to the beach

Super clean and close walk to bars and restaurants. Not a fancy upscale place. It is older but super clean, well maintained and in a great location. Would definately stay there again.

The room was perfect, very nicely decorated, clean and had a marvelous kitchen area. Paint, moulding, walls perfectly clean. Bathroom small but serviceable. Very nice place to stay. Nice amenities, BBQ grill, inviting pool, ice machine, good parking. Would definitely stay there again. Walking distance to great places to eat or enjoy a sunset. Such a nice surprise when you book a motel that is not a name brand. Room was as pictured or better

Spent my birthday weekend here with a few friends and had a wonderful time. Clean, lovely little grounds and very walkable to the beach and restaurants. Will keep in mind for a repeat stay!
