Very quaint and characterful. Loved the lobby coffee/bar and outdoor courtyard. The location is great, we didn't have to get in our car once except to take a boat tour out of Gulfport. We stayed in the old part of the hotel, which I enjoyed for its historic character. Could have done with an AC wall unit over the window unit and better mattress/sheets. We used the gym on the rooftop and appreciated the view and brand new equipment. I'd stay here again but opt for a room with upgraded amenities next time.

Location is nice, I like the lobby and some of the vibe. I can’t speak for every room but my bathroom had a god awful smell coming from the bathroom sink or plumbing that was nauseating.

It was really gross and not well kept, toilet was wet still from person previous going to the bathroom walls not cleaned base boards not cleaned, many dings in the walls, many stains, coffee stains on the furniture, bug debris in the window shades. Do not stay here.

Bar and bartender inside lobby was excellent! Room itself was very small, bathroom was small you almost hit your head on sink when sitting or standing from toilet. Shower very small as well.

Great location close to everything! We walked to a lot of the places we went to. Also there was a super cute bar inside the hotel that was a bar and coffee shop! We loved having a martini at the end of the night.

Location is great, the rooms overall are dirty. There were dead love bugs in our shower / tub after we waited for ‘housekeeping’ to finish cleaning our room so we could check in. They need to invest in re-doing the inn side of the hotel to make the stay more comfortable. Staff wasn’t very friendly/ inviting either. Will not stay or recommend this place in the future.

The restroom had a line of ants and the very old window AC sounded like a jet engine. The shower is no bigger than a phone booth and one person can barely fit at the sink. The hotel parking is free but you park in a garage down the street and around the corner. $40 “resort fee” for what? We were there overnight but I know this is not resort and it has no amenities. Our room in the old section was so small that the left side of the bed was right up to the edge of the door so there was no night stand to put anything on and no plug-in for your phone. The hotel has a newer section, but it was offered at $100 more per night.

The front desk staff were very welcoming, friendly, and helpful throughout our stay. We also loved that you can grab cocktails, wine, or coffee downstairs - such a nice touch and perfect for relaxing after a walk around the city. The location is wonderful as well - everything is within walking distance, including the waterfront, restaurants, and bars. Overall, this place has a special vibe that made the stay feel memorable rather than generic. The bed linens and towels smelled amazing, and the bathroom was stocked with different little bottles of shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, and other essentials, which felt very thoughtful. The hotel itself was also very clean and smelled wonderful throughout. The AC was a little noisy at night, and the bathroom showed some wear and tear, but honestly, that felt forgivable considering the age and character of the building. It’s part of staying somewhere historic rather than in a modern chain hotel.

I paid online and the they charged my card an extra 165!!! dollars to stay in a hotel with tape holding the wallpaper up.The floors were so dirty you couldn’t take off your shoes. You better bring some slippers if you want to take a shower in that filthy tube. The only thing I recommend about this place is the photographer.

Originally I booked my room through Expedia and it mentioned nothing about an “old part” versus the “renovated part” when booking a room. I got to the Cordova and checked into my room (thankfully they let me do an early check in, so nice of them) however upon entering my “old” room there was a dehumidifier with an air freshener sticking through the vent, when taking a closer look the vents were covered in black mold. Walking into the room it smelled very musty and was very warm. I asked to view a room on the newer side and to my surprise it was 100% different, very nice, clean, cool AC, so I paid the difference to upgrade. Would highly recommend the updated side, but I do not recommend the older side. Renovations are not finished - rooftop bar and restaurant to come. Only thing missing with this property is a pool! Staff was great, they made the swap very smooth and not stressful. The concierge gentleman was very knowledgable and kind. Bartenders make great drinks!

When we got to our room (in the “ historic section”) it was on the first floor. We found it convenient for access. Because it was in the historic section we could understand the age and some deteriorated parts of the facility and room. What upset me the most, for the price paid, were small things: 1. The lamps on the nightstand did not operate. 2. There was no remote for the TV to be found. 3. The shower curtain was a bit tattered. 4. There were ants in the bathroom. 5. There was no remote for the ceiling fan. To be fair, we were too tired to call these items in to the front desk. I am sure as helpful as the staff were they would all been addressed.

We love old historic buildings and especially hotels. We were very excited to get a room in the "old" section of this hotel. They are currently updating the hotel and the new section is beautiful too but we enjoyed the room we were in. Exposed pipes overhead, high ceilings, plaster walls, and the old sash-style windows. The air worked great. The only negative in our particular room was a leak at the base of our pedestal sink. We tucked a little towel around it and we were fine. Delicious Expresso martinis and yummy complimentary Pete's bagels in the morning. Close to everything, we enjoyed our stay.

We liked the convenience of down town and the Bay. Didn't mind the small room but did not have enough storage space for a weeks stay. Bathroom is in need of repair and remodeled. Drywall and plaster was in poor condition, smelled musty. The bar was adequate, could have had a better breakfast selection. Overall the price was too high for the state of the room.

In window air conditioner drops your score somewhat but not as much as having "Nancy, my special concierge" misrepresent her offer of a tour of the new addition. You should have more respect for your guests and tell them right away that the "Tour" is really a come on for a sales presentation for a vacation club. There are lots of couples who would indeed decide to come because it interests them. Other couples , not so much. In any case it cheapens your image when you resort to subterfuge to get someone to sign up. It is not consistent with the upscale image you are trying to present.

We reported what appeared to be black mold in the bathroom of our room, which is a significant health concern, especially for a pregnant asthmatic. The only action taken by the staff was to have housekeeping wipe the area, which did not address the underlying issue or provide any reassurance of safety. The only other option offered was to switch rooms after 4pm the night before our check-out which is unacceptable, inconvenient and would not resolve the disruption to our stay. We made multiple attempts—two in person, four via telephone, and twice by email—to escalate this matter and requested to speak with a supervisor, but unfortunately, no one has returned our calls or followed up with us. This lack of response has been extremely disappointing. We are extremely disappointed considering the unresolved health concern, inconvenience, and lack of proper/ANY customer service.

You put your towels in a basket in the hall on the morning, but they don't give you back enough towels for both people in the room and they dont have any extra to give you. The caulking in the shower was molding or missing, you couldn't use the bathroom sonk because the faucet was hige and blocked the sink, the shower was almost inpossoble to use without virtually ripping and ounching the knob into the wall (it was so loose that you.literally pulled the wall and pushed into the wall to turn on and off). The air conditioner was dirty, but worked. Our first room had a dresser with a broken bottom, a missing bottom, and a knob pulled off. The cable didn't work, so they moved us to another room (smaller) that didnt even have a dresser.

We stayed for a night in February. To start, the bath is best defined as minuscule with inadequate room to even turn around. The noisy window unit AC rattled like a subway. The bed was lumpy and the pillows flat as the service. The issue came when we went to use the shower which is the size of a small head on a sailboat. The mixing valve had failed and no hot water was available and then it was impossible to turn off the dripping water all night long. When told of this situation the young front desk operator simply said they would look into it and failed to acknowledge the issue or the great inconvenience. I followed up with management by email and didn’t Even get the courtesy of a reply. For what they charge and the highly inconvenient lack of elevator and remote parking and the antiquated facilities which aer not maintained to a level to be called quaint there are far better accommodations in this city. Do not stay here.

--- I rarely leave negative reviews, but this was one of the worst hotel stays I have ever experienced. The issues here are systemic, not isolated. The $33 per night resort fee is unjustifiable. It includes internet and parking, yet the parking is two blocks away, which is unsafe and highly inconvenient at night. The fee does not include housekeeping. Guests are required to place towels and trash outside the room for exchange, but rooms are not cleaned. Staff gave conflicting explanations about this, with one attendant stating room cleaning was included if requested and another later denying that. No one could clearly explain why an additional nightly fee is charged for services that should be standard. Staff knowledge and accountability were inconsistent. One desk attendant repeatedly deferred responsibility by saying the owner or manager made the decision without being able to explain policies or resolve issues. In contrast, Ariel at the front desk demonstrated genuine hospitality and competence. She was attentive, kind, and accommodating, and was the only staff member who effectively helped resolve problems when rooms had to be changed after a bed broke. Room conditions were unacceptable. One bed frame broke entirely. Both rooms had severely dented mattresses that cau

Cute idea to stay in an old hotel. Have done it before with great results at other destinations. First, parked just outside when arriving and asked the counter clerk is it O.K. to park there, pointing out our car, while we check in and then go find the parking garage down the street? Told it's fine and then got a ticket the next second. $55.00 worth as it was a private parking lot adjacent to the hotel. Bad signage. Great trap for the lot owner! Room had no counter space, a very wet bathroom floor due to the sparse shower curtain that did not go all the way around a clawfoot tub. The tub was peeling badly from old paint or sealant? Would not dare to step inside that! Lots of gross hairs all over, including the fridge? Very, very dusty room from furniture legs to the chair rails. At a quick glance, it looked quaint, but you didn't want to look closer. Old, almost used up toilet paper roll welcomed us into the room. Broken toilet seat. I understand they're adding on rooms. Hopefully they will refurnish the existing ones as the location was very nice. Staff was gracious getting us stuff that was missing when we arrived, soap, sugar and creamer for the coffee maker and swapping towels out for fresh ones the next day. They had a nice front porch to sit on as well.

The staff was amazing and the hotel overall was very cute and in an amazing walkable area, however the rooms did not match up to the photos/other reviews I had seen. Our ceiling fan and light didn't work. The wall AC unit was very noisy and the room heavily smelled like mold. Ended up having to check out a day early.

Excellent location, loved the architectural details, coffee shop downstairs offered excellent blend! Tub had stationary water, had to wash it before taking a shower. Blackout shades did keep most of the parking lot’s light out…not all. The mattress was bumpy.

The building is extremely old. The beds are terrible. the bathroom seemed to be clean but the only self in the bathroom was barely attached to the wall. When I used the toilet the handle just moved and there was NO flush. The gal that was on duty in the morning, was a peach of a person and very professional. She was a 5 star employee. That's why I gave them 2 stars. If I could give the check-in gal a negative, I would. As far as the lobby...One of the reasons I booked was because of the front covered porch. That was lovely. Also, there was a bar in the lobby. BUT, the tabletops were so extremely dirty. The floor had dried spots on the floor from spills that any of the employees ever bothered to clean. Needless to say we checked out a day early. I do not recommend.

Beautiful historic inn that has been refurbished and redecorated. The rooms are very spacious and clean. They have wood flooring, a nice bath with a clawfoot tub, and comfortable beds. It is air conditioned with window units that keep the rooms at a very comfortable, cool temperature, even on the 3rd floor. Just note that this inn has 3 floors, and no elevators, so if you have mobility issues, make sure to request a bed on the 1st level when you make your reservation. We didn't, and huffing and puffing up and down the stairs with heavy luggage was a bit difficult. There is a nice bar in the lobby area that serves coffee in the AM and cocktails in the pm hours. They close at 10 pm. Many really nice locals frequent the bar, and you can obtain a world of helpful information regarding the area and things to do and where to eat by sitting at the bar and engaging in a conversation. The bar tenders are very friendly and helpful, and make great drinks. Would definitely stay here again!

The room was uncomfortable — the bed lacked support, the linens felt rough, and only one towel was provided. The garden tub appeared appealing at first glance, but once in use, it was uneven and felt unstable, which raised safety concerns. The one highlight of my stay was the coffee, which was very good. Overall, however, the experience did not meet the standard I anticipated.

My partner and I arrived Friday for a special weekend, as I planned to propose. We noted this in our reservation. Instead of a memorable stay, we were met with neglect and unprofessionalism. The front desk attendant was on a personal call for three minutes before checking us in. Our room was unbearably hot, the AC barely worked, and the bathroom was covered in limescale. Hair from a previous guest was in the bed and shower. When we reported the heat, we were told to “give it time.” We tried, cold showers, lowering the thermostat, but it remained stifling. We left for dinner hoping it would improve. It didn’t. By 10 PM, there was no staff available to assist us. Some of my partner’s personal items were also missing from her bag. At 12 midnight, we gave up, booked a room at another hotel, and finally got working AC and basic cleanliness. We checked out the next morning. The room was still sauna-hot. This was, without question, the worst hotel experience we’ve ever had. We work in hospitality and expect the bare minimum, cleanliness, working AC, safety, and basic service. The Cordova Inn failed on all fronts. A full refund would be the least appropriate response. Until serious improvements are made, we strongly urge others to stay elsewhere.

The bathrooms are small (we had to move to a different room as the first room’s shower did not work). Staff was friendly and accommodating. Bar and outdoor seating were a nice perk for a small hotel. The history alone makes this hotel a fun place to stay. Parking garage is a little bit of a walk, and Google maps does not lead you to the correct place when you enter the garage address; so listen to the hotel staff when they give your directions! Overall this was a great stay for the price on the holiday weekend!

In the morning, the tub was unevenly balanced so when standing in it to shower if you stepped forward it felt like the tub would fall over. ‘Why not take a bath instead?’ You might ask. Becuse thee stopped wouldn’t fit the drain hole so … no bath. Tiny pedestal sink with not much room for toiletries. The Inn is located in the middle of everything downtown St. Pete with access to a lot including a great AMC theater. We had to park in a parking garage two blocks away - Cordova validated the parking which was nice. It was an experience … probably won’t return because at almost 60 we need accommodations that are easier. Maybe one day we’ll try the boutique hotel thing again.

The staff were all phenomenal. They were polite, helpful, and kind. The location was outstanding. We were in walking distance to all the arts district and many restaurants. The hotel was charming and being lovingly restored. There was mold in the upper corner of the shower stall that had been clearly treated at some point, but had returned. The bathroom was absurdly small. The toilet was situated so that your knees were under the sink to sit on it, which could be an issue if a person was larger or disabled.

This property was built in 1912... before elevators and central AC was thing...wink, wink. The 3 flights of stairs weren't as daunting after we lugged the luggage up them and the AC wall unit kept it pretty cold. They are expanding and I'm sure the newer section will have all the modern bells and whistles. Parking is around the corner, but it is free for hotel guests...so there's the win there. Would I stay again? Yes! The price was right, the property's cute with a nice vibe, the staff was wonderful, and the location is in the heart of a bustling night life that's extremely walkable. The level of cleanliness was not to a quality standard. There was black mold that appeared to be in the bathroom shower tile grout. I also noticed toothpaste lower on the faucet handles. There was no exhaust fan in the bathroom, and the window was painted/jammed shut. The carpet was not only dated, but visibly grimey looking from wear and bleach stains. There were no tissues, and the blinds on the windows allowed light to shine right into your eyes when the sun comes up. Even the cup I received my coffee in at the bar had lipstick stains on it. This level of attention to detail was missing during my stay.

The Cordova Inn was very disappointing. It is supposedly a "renovated" historic inn, but the renovation leaves a lot to be desired. A noisy window AC unit should have been upgraded to a quiet minisplit system - they are quiet, effective, and pretty inexpensive. The hairdryer didn't work. The old clawfoot tub had no grab bar and very hazardous slippery surfaces. There was no work desk in the room - you had to set up a laptop in a common area. The staff weren't particularly friendly or helpful.

The Cordova Inn is a charming boutique hotel dating back to 1921. The location is excellent, the staff friendly and professional. Only two negatives come to mind: Most windows are effectively blanked out, creating a bit of a cave-like feeling to the room. Secondly, window air conditioners rather than central. Both these issued will be rectified when the hotel's expansion is completed later this year.

We booked the Cordova Inn when we had to make a quick trip to St. Petersburg to visit our sister who is very ill. The hotel is old; pictures of the lobby and rooms looked quaint. I did not see anywhere that there was no elevator so we were surprised when we had to carry our luggage up and down from the third floor. No one offered to help. The room itself was adequate, but the bathroom was so tiny, you could barely stand in it. The lights were difficult to figure out, the TV remote buttons were worn and barely worked. We were exhausted from being at the hospital all day, and really did not appreciate all these little inconveniences. There was also construction noise in the morning as they are adding onto the hotel. Fortunately, we were able to move to my relative's apt. for the rest of our stay. The coffee bar in the lobby was very good for a light breakfast, so that was the one positive during our stay.

Overall the stay was good. I knew it was a historic hotel so I always have an open minded view of what to expect. Everything was good with the exception that the room that I stayed in was the first room (Room 108) as you enter the hallway from the lobby. You can literally hear everything happening in the lobby. There's a small kitchen and a coffee shop right there. That was the only issue.

Staff confirmed it's an ongoing issue. Windows now dirty and blocked by construction activity. Rooms small. Towels a bit dirty and aged. Oh well. Seemed like a charming place to be.

My room the door for room 104 does not shut proper and is barely catching the door jam. Since the bed is right next to the door it bothers me that this is a safety issue, and a brute bump would blow the door open. The TV did not work. The AC only has air and blasts high cold, no heat. I was there on a cold day 40's. The bed was a lumpy old bed don't want to know where it came from. Most importantly there is no customer service, only lip service. The Manager or no one ever called me back its been 6 days so far and no return call. I made a list of these issues and left it with the person of the day the next day. I was even told that due to this being a historical building you get the door as is and it won’t be fixed. That is the most backward answer on a safety concern I have heard. Sorry bro, that answer won’t fly. Stay away!

The Cordova is a great hotel, it has a nice old world feel with all the modern conveniences that you might need. I found everything clean and the area quiet. The staff are friendly and very helpful. I’m looking forward to staying there again whenever I visit Tampa or St. Petersburg area

Nice effort to preserve the old hotel atmosphere, great staff. Lamp didn't work and alarm went off at 5, which suggests a need for better attention to maintenance and housekeeping.

The property had some nice historic features and boogie areas, but there were many underwhelming things that overshadowed them. First it was under construction so the ground floor windows had blackout shades that could not be opened for daylight so you felt like you were in a small cave and there was a frefrigerator with a microwave sitting on top, just sitting on the floor, which felt like a college dorm room. The staff was a somewhat rude and not very welcoming.

This is a boutique hotel in every aspect! There are no modern amenities at all. No elevator, window unit air conditioners, no place to store your luggage or drawers to unpack. The claw foot tub is adorable but very inconvenient. The shower gel, shampoo, conditioner were on the back of the toilet because there is NO bathroom storage! Only a pedestal sink with no counter space, no where to put a bar of soap! I am glad we only stayed two nights. It looks like they are building a new boutique hotel Next-door but for now this is it! There was a small coffee maker, a microwave and a small refrigerator but they were plugged in to the loosest outlet I was scared to use it! Location is great very walk able! Unfortunately the inconveniences of no where to put clothes or suitcase, small not usable bathroom space for getting ready, and the dirtiest windows over ever seen makes this a place I will not return to!

We have stayed her before, but the place is definitely not in good shape. The availability of front desk workers and the hours that the coffee shop/bar is open is very limited. The walls are like paper and you can hear everything going on in the rooms nearby, the lobby and outside. I know they are building new rooms and I feel that is the reason the existing ones have lapsed into disrepair. We noticed that one of our windows has a bad termite infestation. The wood is literally turning into sawdust.

it is a older hotel with a lot of character. The bar is friendly and fun to hang out at. the bed was terrible. The bathroom was the size of a broom closet you cant close the door and stand in the bathroom. the shower is very old and the size of a camper shower.

Property being currently renovated! Noisy! Room next to staff storage room! Toilet was unseated! Barely fit in the shower! Coffee maker was poor! Cable TV had poor reception! Parking was a block and a half away! Staff was very helpful and friendly and at $300/night I would hope so! Go somewhere else!

The pictures online showed such a picturesque boutique hotel. I booked it for a surprise weekend for my husbands birthday. It was not. It was old and had poor amenities. In our room there was a window air conditioner that blew directly on the bed and kept going on and off every few minutes 24/7! The window coverings were awful. Some didn't work. The bathtub only had hot water out of either faucet and the clawfoot bathtub itself, while inviting, was chipped and appeared dirty. The windows were very dirty. We only saw one or two employees during our stay, but did get a sales call about joining the hotel chain. Parking was free but a block away. The construction next door started at 7 am, even on the holiday. There was no elevator. We asked for a first floor room and was told it was not available in our category. Overall all a very disappointing stay.

To start you will get several pushy phone calls to attend a membership seminar to join while you are staying there. Check in is a two hour window. 4-6. We checked in at 6:30 and they just leave your key out. You need to pay at a parking garage down the road and figure out the reimbursement when you checkout. We got in our room and there weren’t blinds on the windows. We tried calling the emergency line and they said there was nothing they could do. They said they were at full capacity and I shouldn’t have booked with a third party. The next morning after we hung towels over the windows they moved our room. They don’t actually rent bikes like it says. They are in the middle of a renovation. There are much better hotels in the area.

Don’t get tricked by the photos like we did. Other visitors had challenging words to describe this place. Subpar is the nicest that I could come up with.

They have nighttime security apparently but the security alarm was going off from 5 AM to 7:30 AM. The bartender at “The Scott” was cleaning up at 8:30 pm when the bar closes at 10:00 pm and I was rushed so I just didn’t get a drink. The rooms are really cute. The decor is really cute. Jaleesa at the front is very helpful. The morning drinks at “The Scott” were pretty awful even though the female barista was very nice. There was also a used bandaid in my first room (I later got switched to a second room which was much better but the lamp didn’t work). Also parking was TERRIBLE! It was like a 5 minute walk in a sketchy garage. Atleast the hotel gives you a parking pass so you can park for free. Go check in before you park so you can get the pass.

My room was gross. It stunk, it had a dirty little air conditioner that looks like it was 30 years old. It had a cracked window so it was very loud. The shower was 3' x 3' and very dirty. The entire property is disgusting. I would never recommend this property to anybody. I had a room reserved for two days and had to leave after one day. I could not sleep in that room again.

There was no power you would think at a hotel like that that is expanding in the future would at least have a back up generator and there was only one staff member available to help us, felt a bad for her . We left a day early gave immediate notice of shortening our stay and never got my refund, which I probably will not get, can’t get in contact with anybody no response.

Parking was atrocious and everyone told me “you can’t park here” but nobody gave us parking access assistance that was available! Loved the room and the price was about 30 dollars too high for the lack of amenities! No access to Tampa Rays tickets or Vy-Star C. U. Anywhere South of residential location. Might return, but probably not soon! Steven McLeskey. Room 308!

Cons: Super gross shower, VERY noisy public/pay parking lot right outside your window, and hotel parking is in a parking garage a block away so getting your bags to and from the hotel sucks!
