Reviews
The hotel is in a convenient location with friendly staff, but it is old and outdated with limited amenities. Parking is a common issue, with valet being the only option for many guests and street parking being difficult to find.

There is no self parking- only valet. That is a big no for me. The hotel is old, but very well maintained. It’s ok for a very short stay.
- 5/5
We will definitely stay there again.
- 4/5
Yes the breakfast was good and fresh, prices a little high. Coffee should come with meal if wanted. Our room was fairly clean. The wardrobe was very hand printed from little kids messy hands. Bathroom really needs a vent and fan! Also brighter lights there would be good. Our experience with Alex, Michelle, and the 2 Valet people we had were fantastic. Brian and the head lady I didn't get her name. Our stay was very good.Thx, a great weekend for the Blues Festival

Quick overnight stay. Really nice place. Shout out to the valet attendants, they were great and quick.
- 2.5/5
They charge you 10 dollars for an extra hour of check out later each hour. All other hotels I stayed at never charge a extra fee for a hour check out. No one was even in the hotel so that and the fact the location is near the homeless church. Overall wouldn't come back. The pool was only 3 feet deep wasn't even heated as stated.

Staff was helpful and knew the area. The bistro was a little fast food-like but had a bar and great staff. I didn’t have time for the pool or gym but they were close to an elevator that wasn’t crowded. The room was stocked and refilled with coffee pods. Only negative was the sound of wires or something banging in the wind outside my corner room on the sixth floor that woke me from sleep. PS. There is a daily fee for mandatory valet parking and relatively few alternative options (the Valet Staff was also great).

All of the staff encounter were extremely kind and helpful. My complaint with this hotel is that they charge you $37 to park. I feel like that’s just greed. Also, they charge me $100 and couldn’t tell me what it was for. I called twice and never got a call back. I’m still waiting for it to drop off as the front desk girl said it would. This charge was in addition to what I already paid for the incidentals. This is unnecessary stress and work. I have to do to get this resolved. The hotel it’s not helping.

I booked one night here for my in-laws due to an emergency, and their experience was a nightmare. They are extremely loyal to Marriott and have held Ambassador Elite status for as long as I’ve known them. They both said this is the worst Marriott property they have ever stayed at. The central AC is not working in most of the rooms. Instead, you’re given a portable AC unit in the room. These units are exactly as noisy and disruptive as you would expect. And here’s the best part: the portable AC is vented through the window. Yes, that means your window is left open all night in the middle of Downtown St. Petersburg. Humidity is a problem, as is outside noise. I’ve lived in St Pete for 13 years. Downtown is always lively, both from nightlife and traffic. This property sits on 4th st, one of the main roads in the city. At 3:00 a.m., there will still be traffic. If this were a roadside motel charging by the hour, maybe this situation would make sense. But this is a Marriott. If a room isn’t up to Marriott standards, it shouldn’t be offered for booking. I don’t enjoy writing negative reviews, but at $394 per night, this one felt necessary. If management is willing to offer rooms in this condition without any warning or proactive accountability, it raises serious doubts about how they handle other issues guests might encounter. I’m sure the staff are doing their best and are probably very kind, but there is simply no excuse fo

Clean room , great valet
- 3/5
Building was a bit old. Toilet seat sounded like it would crack with a loud clank when you sat down. Inside of elevator doors could have shined the brass much better. Was quoted wrong price of $25 for overnight parking and when spoke to irritable manager she refused to honor that price and continued to charge us $15 higher than quoted. Valet Parker who retrieved our car looked very irritable also. All in all we would not go back.
- 4/5
A slight problem is that the rate of flow of water into the bathroom sink was weak, and the staff were unable to fix this problem.
- 2.5/5
The location was convenient over all. But behind the hotel is a church for homeless. And theres a park the next street over which is also all homeless people and they were yelling and cursing causing chaos. The area isn't very good over all because of the homeless. The hotel is a historic district hotel. Reonivated into a marriott. But location is 5 blocks down to the pier and beach drive.

Room was spotless, bed was wonderfully comfortable! Staff was friendly and helpful. Overall a great overnight stay. But had breakfast in the morning…very disappointing. Eggs were dry and tasteless…perhaps powdered eggs? And bacon hard a rubbery…microwaved? Otherwise, this historical hotel is lovely.

Additionally, I found someone else’s hair in my room, indicating that the shower was not properly cleaned. The room also had an unpleasant odor.
- 5/5
The staff was friendly and welcoming. The location is excellent.
- 4.5/5
Lovely historic building. Nice touch to provide coffee, tea, hot chocolate and oranges near the holidays. Parking is too expensive.
- 2/5
Staff was nice explanation of charges horrible! They gave a receipt for parking received and explained, then another $118 just charged no explanation when received credit card bill and no receipt. They need new light bulbs to dark in the bathrooms.
- 3/5
Unfair to book hotel and forced to pay mandatory valet parking and no area for free parking or lower price parking!!
- 5/5
I was comfortable and I enjoyed the feeling of an older property upgraded with care and taste.
- 5/5
Room was clean, staff was great. Definitely would stay again.

Very clean , good customer service
- 5/5
Our room was super clean, with a great walk-in shower, nice room darkening drapes, and it was very quiet for sleeping. Everyone was professional, efficient, friendly, and very helpful when needed. From the valet staff to the front desk, and dining area, everyone was amazing. They have a perfect coffee, latte, and breakfast counter which was just what we needed. what stands out the most about our stay was the courteous staff. we were so happy and comfortable at this location.
- 5/5
The showers are a little small for a big guy. Other than that I have nothing but good things to say. Clean and comfortable. Convenient location. Friendly and helpful staff.

Location was great All the extra charges that weren’t mentioned when booking.

During our stay, the toilet in our room was broken the entire time, and plumbing staff did not resolve the issue while we were there. On one evening, there was a verbal disturbance at 2am in the morning. Police had to be contacted, and individuals were removed from the property. Each night after 10pm and early in the morning, vehicles arriving and leaving were blasting radios in Marriott property parking lot. Rooms have paper-thin walls, and one night, the person staying next to us was talking until 2am, making it impossible for us to sleep. Cannot recommend this property to anyone who's looking for a restful sleep.

Pleasant experience with valet, check-in, excellent small & convenient restaurant with awesome staff Everything was great

Great visit to Downtown St Petersburg - this hotel is right in the action. Great location and comfortable stay.
- 2/5
The carpet has a smell, the bathtub was dirty and the no parking beside valet. Luckily I got street parking.
- 5/5
All the staff were absolutely exceptional with their customer service
- 3/5
Good location close to the water and nightlife and restaurants. Rooms are ok. They didn't make up our room for some reason, which was annoying. Workout facility is fine, but the heat was turned up in the am and that was really not great. And they had coffee, but unlike most hotels charge $2 for it. Come on. It's coffee. Most hotels offer it free. Kind of obnoxious.

Nice hotel and staff was so friendly. But stool kept nit flushing but overall they took care of it . And yes I will stay again ! We at my daughter competition!
- 5/5
Perfect location with easy walk to the park shore grill and the pride parade.
- 5/5
Great staff… allowed me to check in early which was a big plus ! Staff and Valets very profession, only downside to the stay was their Bistro on site was only open from 7am to 10 am, had to find dinner at a local restaurant
- 4/5
Although clean and comfortable, our room was a bit dated and a little musty smelling.
- 5/5
Great place to stay.
- 2/5
No parking
- 5/5
The hotel is very well located, at a walking distance to the pier. The staff a the front desk was very helpful'Daniel went out of her way to help me find stores and get the Lyft service.
- 5/5
Very nice hotel in an historic building. Room was clean, staff was really friendly. I would definitely stay there again.
- 5/5
Great location just a few blocks to the shops, restaurants and bars on Central Ave. if you are a walker it’s a straight walk to the Pier. Nice size rooms and quiet.
- 5/5
Overall it was nice property
- 4/5
Proximity to dining and entertainment was benefitial.
- 5/5
First off the staff was very nice! The location was absolutely perfect. Close to the water close to the stores. The hotel itself was in good shape. It was comfortable and an overall seamless experience.
- 4/5
property was nice would stay there again
- 3/5
Totally disappointed that this hotel did not have a breakfast buffet. A mediocre breakfast sandwich, eggs, bacon and toast and 2 coffees cost $50!! An extravagant buffet beachside costs as much.
- 2/5
Room was just ok. Valet was slow. Food at bistro very limited. Did not service our room
- 5/5
Everything was very clean from the lobby to the elevators to the room. Modern and updated. I only wish that there was a safe in the room as opposed to keeping it at the front desk.
- 4/5
Rooms should be cleaned better, headboard and TV were both dusty. Bistro needs to be open more and offer room service. We didn't use the pool because it is too humid in the pool area.
- 3/5
We had 3 rooms reserved and one of our couples had to wait until 4:30 to get their room.
- 5/5
Parking was wierd. You either do valet or park in the garage across the street. Not a huge deal but slightly inconvenient if you want to save a few bucks. Other than that, hotel was fine. Nothing special….It did its job!
- 3/5
Bathroom was dirty.
- 5/5
Great location….. friendly staff…. Very confortable rooms
- 2/5
Charged for valet parking and we parked on street during entire stay. The pool was not tended to all weekend. There were dirty towels and garbage lying in the pool area as well.
- 5/5
The property itself was clean, well kept and accommodating. The staff was what made the visit though. Thank you Shay for your great service at breakfast.
- 4/5
Had a great stay, perfect for staying the night or weekend. Valet in the morning was held back so definitely recommend on having a bit more help with that. The GM or I believe the manager on site was very helpful, jumped in to help. Will be coming back for sure.
- 5/5
Everything was great hotel was clean.. My fiancé and I stayed here for a little get away nice bars and restaurants all walking distance from the hotel. Didn’t drive anywhere the whole trip.
- 5/5
I never been to a hotel that had better customer service. They treated with true kindness and genuine smiles. Thank you for making my family feel safe and welcomed.
- 2/5
Every time the AC came on you would have thought a hurricane was hitting. On the positive side, the people working there were very friendly and helpful but unfortunately it doesn't make up for how disappointing this hotel was. Its not a place I would recommend staying.
- 4/5
Beautifully updated rooms. Very comfortable. The valet service went above and beyond to be helpful and make our stay carefree parking. SHAMIKA greeting was courteous and inviting. She picked up the mobility scooter out back of vehicle and all its parts easily and graciously. The "bistro" was not open most of our stay , but there were plenty of great cafes and resturant within walking distance.
- 4/5
Location is very good
- 5/5
Very nice room. Convenient walking distance to Vinoy Park and all restaurants downtown and by the bay.
- 4/5
It was nice
- 1/5
The attitude of the employees towards guests was one of distaine, and complete arrogance. In particular the receptionists at the desk. We have always felt the Courtyard was a top hotel chain but this one was one of the worst we've ever experienced.
- 5/5
Everything smelled great and it had a classy old school feel to it. The lobby was unique and fun! The staff was kind and helpful. We would definitely stay here again!
- 4/5
Staff were cordial and welcoming.
- 3/5

- 5/5
Nice stay, greet Location
- 5/5
Very nice hotel. Check in staff was great. Expensive valet parking, although there is some off hours street parking for free
- 5/5
Great
- 4/5
was perfect for what we needed
- 3/5
The room was good and the location was ideal- close to the highway and lots of walkable options downtown. However one of the elevators was down for our entire stay and someone must have been smoking cigarettes because throughout the night we kept getting big wafts of cigarette smoke in our room when the a/c would kick on.
- 5/5
Great location
- 4/5
I like Marriott, but area maked us uncomfortable. Great staff at restaurant but closed on weekends for dinner. Terrible parking. Non functioning elevators. In Florida an outside seating area would also be nice
- 5/5
Great relaxing experience
- 5/5
Staff were so friendly, courteous and accommodating!
- 4/5
Fine hotel, good valet parking.
- 1/5
Horrible. Do NOT stay here.
- 4/5
Wished they had a smart tv and microwave
- 5/5
It was my second stay. No complaints. Rooms are clean. Valet does a good job. Hot coffee in the mornings. I will be back.
- 4/5
Didn't have a microwave in our room . Was the only thing missing.
- 5/5
Great stay
- 2/5
room smelled like smoke and had me annexing all night. the a/c was portable sitting on a table. I was not able to sleep all night from sneezing and congestion. The shower was very small and the water burnt my eyes. I thought I was coming down with something while I was there, but when I left to drive home, I was perfectly fine. I told front desk about it, and the person didn’t seem concerned and seemed very dismissive.
- 5/5
Staff was super friendly and helpful
- 4/5
The hotels was clean and a great place to stay. Very quiet. However, nowhere on their site or the booking sites does it mention you’re going to be paying at least $30 for parking, unless you can find one of their rare coveted parking spots around the building. We were going to park ourselves, so we asked the valley where we should do that and he informed us that it’s cheaper to valet than it is to self park, at $30 a night (also, this means you have no access to your vehicle throughout the evening).
- 5/5
Staff went above and beyond to help me and all with a smile
- 4/5
Meghan the valet supervisor was top notch and went above and beyond to assist me. She's the best person to have at the front door! If would be great if you could update your rooms. I typically stay at holiday inn express and they have you beat with their Dove hygeine products, microwaves in the rooms, and high quality k cups, coffee makers, and creamer/sugar packets. A breakfast plan for guests would also be nice.
- 5/5
Great location to enjoy downtown St Pete. Lovely spacious room and friendly staff.
- 2/5
Homeless were wondering inside the building in front of the front desk staff. Staff did get an average rating because they were friendly.
- 5/5
Room was very clean and comfortable love the bed!!!!
- 2/5
I reserved a specific room that came with a specific deal through Expedia but when I got there they said “we have two queen beds but we don’t have that suite or the deal that Expedia gave you” !!!!! Like why all these apps exist and you guys have a deal with them if you are not going to honor it ????? Not mad , but damn you expect me to cancel the deal at 9:30 at night while you didn’t even give me a heads up that deal or room doesn’t exist anymore ? What happened to customer service and communication?
- 2/5
Room in poor condition, no water was provided and when asked they stated it’s only for Bonvoy members! Front desk never answered when called them, one elevator was nonfunctional and the other very slow. Would not recommend staying at this hotel
- 4/5
It said parking available. I didn’t know that meant valet only for 35 bucks a night. I parked on the street and figured a parking ticket was only 25. Too many middle men
- 3/5
Room was next to road which was quite noisy even late at night after 11pm on the weekend. No room service and pretty basic fare if you want to eat on site

The evening staff Tamara and angel went above and beyond. They need to replace your morning staff. Wonderful experience with them. We will not be returning to this hotel or recommending.
- 2/5
Booked a King Room and paid for a larger bed and got out into a smaller double Gervais they were out of King... how do you sell something to a customer you can't guarantee. The so called diving is a very limited menu and closed early. Parking is not even on the property. If you self park you are going to park and walk 2 blocks down the road. Will not return to this properly.
- 5/5
Other than that it's a fantastic property.
- 5/5
Walk8ng distance to central avenue
- 5/5
Wonderful staff. Clean room, overall.
- 4/5
Free parking may well be available on the street within a couple of blocks, or even right next to hotel, especially on weekends when restrictions are looser. Otherwise, $35 valet parking is just too much. Avoid Room 308. Windows are very dirty, and ventilation noise in Room 308 is constant, very loud, and cannot be controlled. This was confirmed by hotel staff, who cheerfully provided me another room that was just fine for A/C noise (and had clean windows). All staff were friendly and helpful.
