The Vinoy hotel is generally praised for its beautiful property, excellent location, and friendly staff. However, there are several complaints about ongoing construction, issues with room cleanliness, and poor communication about room availability and changes.

Beautiful hotel with lovely amenities & friendly, helpful, professional staff. We enjoyed starting our mornings with coffee & delicious pastries from Lottie on the veranda. The grounds are beautifully maintained, beautiful trees, shrubs, & flowers. Lunch at Paul’s Landing was very good as was the room service. We rented a Cabana for the day & it was fabulous, like a little oasis! Beach towels are provided as is complimentary bottled sparkling & still water. We ordered food throughout the day from Para Sol & it was fun & delicious. Cocktails were perfect. It was a hot day yet the service was impeccable. Our family was really impressed. A complimentary fruit & dessert board was also provided. I highly recommend renting a cabana & enjoying a fabulous day by the pool. Even the gift shop is lovely. I look forward to our next visit!

The hotel was beautiful in certain aspects, but it could be maintained better. The original tile in the main area was a nice touch. The bed linens felt cheap and the AC wasn't very cold in our room. They allow pets so at times I felt like I was in a petting zoo. Overall, probably not worth the high rates they charge.
- 3/5
Disappointing as I bought 6 people from my company here as well. Great hotel, let down with staff in key areas. I should be clear that not all staff were sub standard. Staff attending folks on arrival are excellent and were visibly frazzeled also that my issues could not be resolved faster. I appreciated their concern.

We came for a concert felt very pampered and well taken care of . Didn’t have a lot of time to enjoy the hotel , but it was beautiful and location was perfect

Our room was very nice, with a great harbor view. Unfortunately, every evening there were loud parties on the lawn directly under our balcony. Thankfully, they were over before our bedtime so it wasn't a problem for us, but I could see this posing a problem for parents trying to get young children to sleep.
- 3/5
For over 1000$ a night, I would prefer that the bathroom be free of mold, mildew and not have broken fixtures. The staff (bar staff and valets) were always complaining about their jobs within earshot of hotel guests. The only redeeming experience was our spa visit, which was fantastic as always.

We got no maid service the last day. We left the room before 10 am and came back at five with a visitor. Unmade beds, unkempt room. Embarrassing. The next morning, we had no pods for coffee. Disappointing. We have come here for years and never felt so disrespected.

Loved hotel. Very disappointed that the main restaurant wasn’t open to celebrate my moms 91st birthday and no other bars to sit and have drinks and appies. Did sit at bar on Veranda but outside and too hot. But room was fantastic and ordered room service for dinner.

Excellent. Service was exceptional, from the front desk to the valet, room service and housekeeping. The Vinoy was very clean and comfortable, the room was nicely sized and modernly appointed. Restaurants on site were convenient and very good with the pastry shop/coffee bar in the lobby, a nice touch. The location was also great. so many restaurants, bars, parks and the pier within easy walking distance.

I had a lovely stay at the Vinoy. The hotel is beautiful, clean and has wonderful staff. The pool and spa were perfect for relaxing and the nearby park was tranquil and lush for morning coffee walks. Definitely check out the coffee and pastries from the lobby cafe - they are delightful!

🌴 The Vinoy is a true St. Pete treasure. From its stunning historic architecture to its unbeatable waterfront location, everything about this hotel feels special. The rooms are elegant and comfortable, the staff is warm and attentive, and the on-site dining is top-notch. Whether you’re relaxing by the pool or exploring downtown, The Vinoy offers the perfect blend of luxury and charm. Highly recommend for a memorable getaway!

- 4/5
Beautiful building and grounds. Nice location. Slow check in (long wait) and noisy room at night. Loud noise coming through vents. Overall, enjoyed our stay.
- 4/5
Renovation of the Vinoy is completed. A nice stay-cation for us Floridians.
- 2/5
- They charge $12.95/day for internet access. This is a $500+ per night property, and properties going for half this include free Wi-Fi. It's a shameful money grab. - The shower door track had mold/mildew (see photos) and the room smelled musty. Nasty. - During check-in we were told we would receive complimentary tickets to The Dali museum, which was the main attraction my wife wanted to see. They did give us tickets. However, it was pretty embarrassing when we approached the counter at The Dali, handed the tickets over and were told these were for a completely different museum (museum of history - see photos). Shelled out the $88 and began the tour. Annoying. - At checkout, there were almost $100 of "valet" charges on our bill. We didn't even have a car with us! - The view in the room was terrible. Basically looking at the delivery area and rooftop A/C units.
- 5/5
We love The Vinoy and have stayed here several times but didn’t receive housekeeping service when there for some reason and front desk just says sorry.
- 5/5
The amenities did not disappoint.
- 5/5
I couldn't be happier with my experience! My husband and I travel frequently, and I would say this place has one of the best services we’ve encountered. I was truly impressed by every member of the staff, including those from the golf course. The attention to detail in our room was also remarkable. After this wonderful stay, I moved on to the Don Cesar because of all the hype about it being a waterfront resort, but there’s truly no comparison when it comes to the level of service we received here. Thank you all for making our vacation so memorable!
- 4/5
Size of room staff was excellent pretty clean food was good Noise from elevator and loud people hanging out in the halls. Teenagers. I mean a little is to be expected but they were noisy and in hall for about 2 hrs. Bars and restaurants close to early. No microwave and website needs updates on parking
- 5/5
Great hotel, great location, excellent food choices, Veranda was my favorite spot. I received the best deep tissue massage ever at the Spa. Health club facilities are the best I’ve experienced in Florida. Highly recommend, will definitely return.
- 5/5
It’s the best Hotel in St Pete.

Just Beautiful!
- 4/5
The Vinoy resort is a great hotel. The room was fine except the air conditioner kept turning off and moving to 75 degrees everytime we left the room. I am sure it's an energy saver thing but annoying. When we arrived the room was not ready so decide to have lunch by the pool restaurant and the waiter was not good. Very slow and got half the orders wrong but we didn't complain as we didn't want to be there another hour. Check in was 4 pm and they said they would call when the room was ready but they didn't so finally went to the front desk and the room was ready closer to 430. I would go back as probably the nicest hotel in St Petersburg.
- 5/5
Beautiful The location Not easy to go to the pool or the restaurant for breakfast. No indication
- 5/5
Beautiful hotel renovations. Attentive staff.
- 5/5
Wonderful experience! All the staff was kind and helpful. Golf course was in great condition. Highly recommend!
- 4/5
Nice property. Was told room was ready. When we arrived it was not and we had to wait for an hr
- 5/5
Beautiful resort but valet parking is ridiculously expensive and didn’t see an option for self parking
- 3/5
We had a room in the original part of the hotel. The rooms have been updated and were very nice. The air conditioner had trouble keeping the room cool. My husband and I both could not sleep due to the warmth of the room and no matter how much we turned the air down, it never cooled. There was also noise coming through the vents in the middle of the night that was so loud it also kept us awake. Overall feel and experience, felt overpriced for this stay.

I like the staff and the way they're willing to help. Our first night the room was a newly renovated ans nice, but there were a lot of noises and the AC sounded like an engine when it started blowing air... I went to the front desk and they were very accomodating ans got us a very quiet room, the whole staff is very friendly and the hotel has history which I learned from one of the valet guys... loved my stay amd will be back soon!
- 3/5
For the money I would expect Ritz Carlton service and it was not at that standard.
- 5/5
Simply amazing. The property is beautiful and the staff were so nice. We will be coming back and telling everyone about The Vinoy.

Just not operating well. Very disorganized. Staff doesn’t seem to care much.

The staff is extremely friendly throughout. We were awakened both mornings around 8 however by hammering and then sawing. Some repairs being done near our room. Our location was great, near the pool and restaurant
- 5/5
Great place!
- 5/5
I love this hotel so much! We did a 3 week road trip all across FL from Tampa down to the Keys and back up the East side up to Ponte Vedra and this was hands down my favorite hotel. It's just gorgeous. I can't say enough good things about it. Close to all the shops and restaurants. We'll definitely be back.
- 5/5
The hotel is amazing. but who the hell put in this dei program that list ecco-friendly in this survey? Yes they had those crappy refillable water bottles that you hope are cleaned, that's about it. Everything else runs on oil or is made from oil, get it? Global warming is a left wing hoax!! BTW, all those bottles do is add to dehydration. Just like flushing the stupid toilet three to four times instead of once, so stupid....But I do think the Vinoy is indeed one of America's great historic hotels. I love it and St Pete!
- 2/5
Housekeeping removed phone charger and wife’s hair curlers when we left room after first arrival. Tip that we left for delivery of our luggage was taken but the coat room check it was sitting on for the delivery was left behind. Possibly thought the items were from previous guests but security could not determine who entered the room.

We had a great time at the Vinoy just before Christmas. It was beautifully decorated in the lobby, and we loved sitting in the comfortable chairs on the porch having pre- dinner drinks. Also sitting at the pool was so relaxing . The location is perfect-across from the bay and downtown. The staff were incredibly friendly, especially the kind man who waited on our table in the restaurant. The only downside was the high priced dinner at their restaurant. Also, I would add some warmth to the restaurant- maybe plants and comfortable chairs- to add to the ambiance…
- 5/5

- 4/5
But I really liked the Hotel, it's beautiful.
- 5/5
Location. Resort amenities. Main restaurant not open due to renovations. However many restaurant in downtown nearby.
- 5/5
Everyone who worked at the Vinoy were so friendly and made us feel at home. A shout out to Ishmail who, every time he saw us, yelled "hello" with a smile. The restaurant hostesses and wait staff were all wonderfully attentive and the chef gave us our exacting orders. All in all, a wonderful stay!
- 3/5
The bed was lumpy and the pillows and duvet were subpar for the price.
- 5/5
Every person I interacted with at the Vinoy was pleasant and so helpful! The hotel is beautiful.
- 5/5
The Vinoy is beautiful. It was decorated nicely for Christmas. The cafe in the lobby has the most amazing pastries. It was great to sit in the rocking chairs on the patio and enjoy a cocktail. Our room in the tower was very spacious and the balcony was a bonus. Staff were very helpful and cheery.
- 5/5
The phone operator hardly ever answer a call. Not good
- 4/5
They were still under construction due to damage from the hurricane, so when trying to enjoy the jacuzzi all I could hear was sawing and this was at 7pm Friday evening so I wasn't expecting that. Also my mini frig wasn't working and I called for them to come check it out and no one ever came.
- 5/5
Best place in St. Pete! Classy with style with a historic background! Perfect location. Staff is amazing. Property is beautiful! Highly recommend!!!
- 2/5
Our first assigned room had roaches in the bathroom. I saw suspected evidence on the bathroom counter when we first went into the room. Later that evening I saw additional dropping in the sink and I killed a roach in the sink. Later in evening my wife found roach in her makeup bag that was sitting on the counter. We called management and we were moved to an upgraded suite. The suite had issues the air conditioner / heater. It kept cycling power on and off with loud noise every time it cam back on. We refused to move again and told management to just the unit off which they did.
- 5/5
Staying at the Vinoy is such a magical experience! The room and the staff were outstanding!
- 5/5
Beautiful renovation with excellent location Nothing not to like
- 5/5
Beautiful and historic hotel.
- 5/5
Great stay
- 4/5
My husband and I spent a weekend getaway at the Vinoy. The property is beautiful and the pool is especially nice. The service, however, was not good. We waited at the restaurants for servers to take our order and when the order came it was not correct. Also, we were told drink coupons were not honored at the pool, but that the front desk would take drinks off of our bill at the end of our stay. That turned out not to be correct. I called the spa on Saturday morning to book a service and was asked to leave a message, which I did. Nobody ever returned my call. Finally, we did not receive any maid service at all until late Sunday when we asked for extra towels. We enjoyed our weekend, but expected better service from such a regal and expensive property.
- 3/5
THEN she removed our full drinks including TWO NINE YEAR BOURBONS and threw them away while we were talking to another table. Manager had to replace them! Made it painfully clear that she wanted us to leave. Too bad sis, we paid to stay here, and will use the bar during open hours. We bought three bottles of wine (because bartender told us he didn’t want to serve drinks and took his sweet time so people would leave. Waited on us ONLY AFTER we demonstrated we were hotel guests). While the bar was open, manager and the bar staff hovered over us, asking if we were done, insisting they would take our unopened bottles. Passive aggressive moves like turning off all the candles on the tables . I finally had to ask the male bar staff why people were acting like us spending money as paying guests was so off putting to the staff. Staff acted like they were royalty and we, the paying guests, were beneath them. Insulting and highly inappropriate attitude. Made to feel unwelcomed *while spending money*, by your night staff at Veranda on 10-31 after 10:00 pm.

The Vinoy was nothing short of beautiful. We loved the convenience of having so much food and shops to choose from within walking distance. The room was clean and was serviced multiple times a day to make sure we had everything we needed. The staff was very friendly and helped us with anything we needed.
- 5/5
Beautiful resort and friendly staff! Valet workers very nice!
- 5/5
Beautiful historic hotel, walkable to a row of restaurants. Room is spacious, elegant with a balcony looking over the marina/bay. There is a free city run trolley bus every 20 mins with this hotel as stop no. 1, which runs till 10pm on weekends. Love to visit again for the historic high tea tour which runs from Thu to Sun
- 4/5
The staff was excellent and did an awesome job. During the stay the property had just flooded a couple days before our arrival so downstairs were a lot of fans. The pool also was broken during the stay, so we were not able to utilize the pool. Charlie's landing (I think that was the name of restaurant on site) was pretty good. I would have preferred just a little more food options to choose from. I did try room service; it took about an hour, but it was still good.
- 5/5
Great area and Super Service
- 1.5/5
Lovely property but in complete disarray and arguably mismanaged on many levels. I was transferred to four rooms due to A/C failures. The pool was out of service, food was sub-par. II could go on but I’d rather not.

What a beautiful hotel! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Vinoy. Excellent amenities and very clean. We ate at Paul’s Landing, swam in the pool, rode electric bikes, enjoyed drinks on the veranda and in the coffee shop, and even visited the St Pete History Museum with tickets included with our room. The price was high but that’s what you pay for a hotel with this level of service. Concierge, front desk, valets, and bellhops were all very helpful and friendly. There is a beautiful Chihuly chandelier in the ballroom and a gorgeous grand arrangement of flowers in the foyer. We also appreciated the very well-done exhibit on the mezzanine about the hotel’s history.

EVERYONE who works at the property was incredibly professional, nice and so goos at what they do. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay!

Staff need tracing on customer service with a smile. Upon checking in we felt inconvenience more than welcome with a smile. Our first time stay at Vinoy and that was not even acknowledged. The only staff that was pleasant and accommodating was the girl at the pool.

This is gold standard of hoteling (yes I made up a verb for this) 😄
