Econo Lodge Airport at RJ Stadium

. This was the worst experience. Vomit on side of bed, roaches , no towels, active narcotics being dealt from the room beside ours.

Easy to get to the room and parking. The cleaning staff are the sweetest. Check in staff were very nice, the guy at check out was kind of don't bother me attitude.

The bed, your better off sleeping on a two by four. Room was full of spiders which means those spiders know where their food is at. Ice machine does not work. And if it is not bolted to your vehicle do not leave it outside. Cancel a month in advance or they will charge you every penny. Never again

The bed linen was clean. That's the good. The bad is the shower had pubic hair on it, the facet leaked. The whole place was overpriced and below standard.

This hotel was extremely disappointing and honestly felt neglected. The bathtub was peeling badly, stained, and had visible rust around the drain. The caulking and grout looked dirty and poorly maintained, making the bathroom feel unsanitary. Around the toilet there was rust, grime, and obvious lack of cleaning. For the price paid, I expected a clean and properly maintained room, but this looked like it hadn’t been updated or deep cleaned in years. Definitely would not stay here again and would not recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable or hygienic experience.

The AC didn't work, and the towels had what appeared to be mascara on them. The mattresses were hard and clumpy, and the pillows were terrible.

. The check in person was great and went the extra mile. The check out lady had a pair attitude. First thing in the morning I had to deal with a nasty employee of theirs. Real piss poor attitude that should not work with the public. Taping right in front of the door so customers that don't smoke have to deal with her nasty habits.

The room itself was fine and I checked in pretty quickly. The main issues were that the there were gnats/flies in the room from the moment I opened the door and that door handle of my room was broken so you could only open the door if you lifted the handle upwards.

Location, Location, Location!!! Good for the very basic needs. If you’re attending an event at Raymond James Stadium this is a great location. Nothing fancy, your basic needs are met. Close enough to walk to stadium.

Checked out right after seeing my room. Giant cockroach hiding in toilet paper roll scared the soul out of me, toilet wouldn’t flush, lots of dirty things in room. I can handle old and outdated, but not dirty with giant roaches (not beetles, but roaches…I know the difference.) No seals on door, baseboards popping off wall & dirty, chairs had stains. Bathroom cabinets sealed closed, nowhere to store clothes or anything. Room was very dark with just a dim lamp, but I had flashlight & blue light to inspect and it was all just gross. They still charged me full price for the first night but I just couldn’t stay there, I’ld rather sleep in my car.

On the up side, ten minutes from the airport. Easy to get to and convenient parking. Was clean, made what they had to make it work. The one staff member polite and helpful, the other… well guess they were always in the bathroom. Never had a chance to meet them

This place is very affordable but disgusting. I booked this hotel for my wife and myself for 3 nights since it's within a mile of Raymond James and we were attending back to back shows there on Saturday and Sunday night. I checked in on a Friday, walked into our room, and checked out 15 minutes later because neither one of us could breathe without coughing and sneezing.The AC was blowing a mixture of dust and mold all over the room, the carpet floor was nasty, the whole room smelled musty with a faint cigarette smell, and everything metal in the room was rusty. The bathroom wasn't any better and there were no amenities in the room. I asked the clerk if there were any newer rooms and he said they were all the same, so I asked to check out. We didnt sit on the beds or disrupt anything in the room. He was polite and said we would get 2 nights refunded but might get just a partial refund for checking into the room, but would check with the manager the next day about getting a whole refund for that Friday. Out of $423 we were refunded $264. We found a room at the Holiday Inn about 3 miles away and paid more for it, especially last minute. Expedia was no help in getting us another place or applying any discounts. But it was our decision to leave so I get it. If you’re the type who reads reviews and values cleanliness, you'll want to pass on this place. Otherwise enjoy your nasty smelling room and have have fun finding all the crawling things that come out after dark.

The staff were nice the area were very convenient my room was just ok the carpet has stained on it there was roach in the room noise outside was very scary but the beds were very comfortable and the water temperature and pressure was great I’m not sure what happened I’ve heard great things about the hotel but this one wasn’t one of it to say the least but the price was great

Well I went to check in for my second reservation and the nice lady checking me in was having trouble saying she could not find my reservation, I then showed her I had made the reservation 3 months ago and she kept saying it was weird and could not find it, very nice accommodating lady but I had to wait like 20 minutes just her trying to see what was going on until she realized the reason was the guy “DJ” had never checked me out. Thankfully I was checking in later that day, if not I probably would’ve gotten charged a fee. 100% do not recommend.

The two ladies that checked me in were nice, but the guy in the morning that “checked me out” was so disrespectful. I believe his name is “DJ”, when I told him I was checking out, he didn’t even look at me and shooed me away with his hand without even saying a WORD. I stayed there looking at him because I didn’t believe he was actually doing that to me, I also didn’t want to just leave and not properly check out, and so he saw I stayed and he then looked at me for the first time and said “You can go” in a very nasty tone as if I was interrupting him or something and so I said “well do I give you the key cards” and he said “leave them there.” again in a very nasty tone. I looked past it and left, but I was checking in again later that day since I had made 2 separate reservations. It was actually better than I expected compared to other experiences. The room was clean, when I checked in the staff was nice, once I walked in the young lady got up immediately to help me, but checking out dude look like he could care less. There was a lot of duck poop on the steps where I was but I mean there is a pond close by, but otherwise it was ok.

Building condition is terrible, A/C old and very noisy, need to try 10 times to open the bedroom door.... they charge 5 times the regular price when there is an event at the stadium...

Conveniently located asking distance to the stadium. No new installations but I will pick this hotel for any other events at the stadium.

The hotel served its purpose since I wanted something walking distance to RJ Stadium; but if you're wanting luxury, this is not the place. The staff was great and very accommodating. My room was upstairs and I needed to carry my luggage up 1 flight of stairs--so be prepared. The rooms did not have any of the extras (blow dryer, iron, ironing board, coffee maker, shampoo/conditioner) but did have a decent size mini fridge and you could get some of the extras from the front desk. My AC worked but my friend's did not. There are no restaurants in walking distance, so weigh out your preferences. For me, the EL worked great cause I had a car and didn't want to fight the parking lot after BTS concerts and the staff helped balance the rest out. There were also cute ducks all around the property so watch your step.

The property could use a little tlc. Theres no vending machine or stores super close if your not renting a car but there is a potbellys right across the parking lot.

Loved the motel because of the proximity to the Raymond James. Saw BTS!!!!! Walking distance was great. They let us sleep on the parking lot until check in time thank goodness we drove 18. Would stay there again! Only thing missing was a pool!

Stay away. Front desk clerk was lazy and rude. The place is old, run down, dirty. No soap of any kind in the room. The lock on the door needed to be fixed. Bugs on the wall. Spend a little extra and stay at the new hotel right next door.

The electric outlets were loose and we couldn't connect our chargers. The door was super difficult to open even other guesses had the same problem.

The parking lot was on the same kevel as my room and throughout the night I could hear car alarms and doors slamming. The AC wouldn't stay on fan mode, it kept coming on and off and I turned it off because it disturbed my sleep. I should have brought a noise cancellation pod.

The area is unsafe, the people are trafficking, smoking in the rooms and I asked for room service and they didn’t do it until the next day. When they finally got to it it still wasn’t clean. The air in the rooms are poor and there is no ventilation system

Room was clean but not well maintained property. Bed was from probably the 1950’s. Air conditioner sounded like it was making ice all night and very loud. Water kept running in the toilet all night too. Loud music playing at all hours in the parking lot. When I went to turn in the keys the guy was laying on a couch watching tv with his feet kicked up and made me walk the keys to him. Didn’t even bother to get up. Night shift guy was nice though.

At first, it started ok staff friendly enough when I walked in. It definitely seemed dated, but not terrible, but that was the extent of anything positive. There were a lot of unhoused people just sitting on curbs outside of the building. We decided just to take a peek in our room and immediately when we open the door, we were hit with the overpowering smell of Fabulosao. The carpet was damp, and there were stains all over the carpet. We stayed in our room all of 45 seconds and got back in our car drove to the nearest coffee shop to collect our thoughts and find alternative accommodations. When we tried calling the front desk. We were hung up on twice. The pictures did not match the rooms that we saw. Save yourself a headache and book a better property.

The staff was nice and the hotel was very convenient as I was attending the NHL stadium game at Raymond James. That being said, the room was not very nice. Poorly patched holes in the walls that weren’t painted over to match the existing color. The bathroom definitely needs a bit of TLC. All that being said, the price was great and it made my trip to and from the stadium a breeze.

The room was clean and most of the staff spoke english but like most central and southern motels, there was no heat in the room. I bought a space heater at walmart and then it was cozy. Rooms also lack things like micro waves, hair dryers and extra pillows. But I would staythere again. Great price.

We decided not stay at this property after checking into the room. The room was not very pleasant and there was a strong odor that was unbearable to stay in room. The parking area was not well lit and seemed unsafe. There are much nicer options for the same price, I would not recommend this property to anyone. The advertised pictures looked much nicer than the room we were given.

It's a simple please within walking distance of the stadium. Angel was very nice, but the receptionist on the morning shift was hesitant to provide a receipt. Overall if you are going to the Bucs game it is very convenient.

The most disgusting hotel I’ve ever been to. I stepped into my room and it was absolutely disgusting. I asked for a room change and it was the exact same thing. I ended up paying for that night but not even staying there because of how filthy it was. I went to the hotel next door. DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE!!! IT IS AN ABSOLUTE DUMP!!!!!

This place is a hazard and the people are thieves. First they made us leave a cash deposit, which I've never seen before. The door to our room, looked like it had been kicked in previously. From inside the room with the door closed you could see out into the parking lot through the bottom half of the door. The electrical plugs on the nightstands didn't work and the toilet backed up and didn't work. The room looked and felt dirty. The towels had stains on them. The keys stopped working and we had to get new ones. We were only there one night for a concert and there were no rooms available in the area. So we had no choice but to stay there. Oh and the door handle was so loose at one point it even came of in my hand. To make matters worse when we went to check out they told us we couldn't check out until they sent someone to check the room. Then 2 minutes later they came back with that the room smelled like w*ed. We tried to explain that we didn't smoke and the lady at the desk said okay we'll just call the police then and my husband asked is this about keeping the deposit and the lady said "yup". I've never been to a hotel where they asked for cash deposit and then didn't let you leave before the inspected it. It gave us that was the plan all along vibes. The place was literally falling apart and then made up a smell to keep the deposit. This place was a nightmare.

This property is old and it shows. Also very dirty. Don’t be deceived by the pictures! We found hair in the tub, a brown stain on the wall, German roaches and some crazy wet spot on the carpet. I think there may have been some other issue because the wet spot grew the longer we were there. If you’re desperate, this place will work. But if you have options, choose anywhere else.

all the doors to get into the rooms are broken, so it takes several tries to actually unlock it. on top of that the room was full of flies and the toilet was broken. i understand that this isn't supposed to be a luxury hotel or anything but i still paid 400 dollars and id at least appreciate if it was worth it.

Our nonsmoking room smelled strongly of smoke. There were hairs on the sheets, the shower leaked, the door had a huge gap in the seal, there was staining on the bedding, and we had a huge dark fresh stain on the floor that hadn’t been cleaned. You get what you pay for.

The office staff and cleaning staff were friendly and helpful but this EconoLodge is literally the worst place I have ever stayed in my life. Water leaked out of the toilet when it was flushed and the hallway leading to our room smelled like a combination of bleach and dumpster fluid. On a good note it’s very close to Raymond James Sradium and Metallica rocked out!

Many repairs needed, first room plumbing not functioning, second room AC failed, mattresses at the end of lifespan. Ice machines all broken. Great location for sports or music events, but needs a Lot of work. Staff friendly and helpful, just needs a lot of TLC.

While the room could use a good scrubbing, for the price and free parking, it was worth it. We parked for the AcDc concert, We only used the room to cool off and freshen up while waiting for traffic to die down. As we are local, we drove home. The staff at check-in was absolutely A+ wonderful

After reading the reviews wife was a little nervous. But.... Bed was clean and comfortable, no noise during the night and the air worked great. My only complaint was the shower, was very hard to find the hot water. We would stay again while at a concert.

I read the reviews on line and I was surprised how clean it was. It’s old they are updating. The guy that checked us in was so pleasant. The young lady that checked us out was so nice. I would stay there again. If you want the Ritz this isn’t your hotel. We slept very well. The ac was great. No complaints from me. Quiet close to the stadium.

Our room smelled like Marijuana all the time. My hair smelled like it when I woke up. The show pressure was the slowest I've ever seen. I had to manually get the toilet to flush by taking off the tank lid everytime. The staff was nice but tye person checking me in was smoking weed. The guy fixing my door card was too busy kissing his co-worker girlfriend. This is only gets 2 stars because they were nice.

There was a gap in the door frame, and patches of plaster on the walls, celing, and bathroom tiles, the sink was slow to drain, and the tv was snowy (my husband was able to fix that) the bed was not at all comfortable, didnt sleep well. Overall it was bad, and sidnt feel safe. definately not waoth what we paid for one night. We will never choose Econo lodge in the future!!

Only positive was good water pressure and hot water.

The man at the front desk was the picture of when lack luster meets uninterested. While on the way to thebroom, the place was dirty and then the lighting in the immediate accessway to the assigned room was very poor. We got to the room only to be greeted by roaches! We checked out immediately!

Worse than other reviews suggested, checked out 5 mins after checking in. Run down, strong smell of cleaning products, dirty beds and showers and broken down toilets. Extremely dark parking lot. Nothing about this place is acceptable. Needs to be gutted and completely renovated.

Never again people next door to us was smoking cigarettes and it was coming right through my room I went to the office they act like they couldn’t help me and plus it was a no smoking in the rooms the alarm went off and everything , it was roaches and it was more than 1 I killed at least 4 myself , the a/c unit was falling apart but we even tried to get comfortable. I had my lady and daughter and we were not satisfied

The staff was friendly but the overall experience was subpar. The rooms are in need of renovation. The furniture is worn. There is visible rust and peeling painting. The toilet in the room was not fully secured to the floor. The walls and door were dirty. The walkways were not lit at night .

The gentleman who checked us in was nice. This place wasn’t very nice it smells really bad and used some sort of air freshener that is horrible. This motel wasn’t very well take care the condition of the rooms is horrible.

You get what you pay for. Old. Dirty. Extremely noisy (guests). Don’t get a room by the housekeeping closet as the door gets slammed when going in and out.

Me and my family felt very unsafe at this hotel. And room was not like it was described on the website.

Property is run down room smells . The pictures post online for what the place looks like is nothing like the rooms . The rooms are old and run down. Nothing like the photos.

The reviews for this hotel at the end of Feb 2025 were almost all terrible. I would have never stayed there if I would've seen them before my reservation. But I didn't. To my big surprise, the place I found was exactly the opposite to what people describe in their reviews. The place was impeccable, fresh and clean everywhere. Very confortable and everything worked well. It was a real pleasure stay there. I would recommend it highly. Just one comment, please upgrade your WiFi. It is way too weak.

No one was at the front desk when we arrived. Then when he did show up was very rude. AC did not cool either. Would never recommend this place to stay for any reason

I had made the reservation a week ahead. When I got to the hotel the only room was in the very back of the place and I was not safe back there I am 78 years old and a widow. Also the smell of drugs was so bad. I was told when I checked in that was the only ground floor available. There was no microwave in the room. When I complained, another room became available. Very bad way to do business. Will not ever stay there nor will I recommend the place

The entire building looked old, moldy and door would close properly. Curtains couldn’t close properly. They only had a set of towels and rags for each unit on the property. Employees were very polite and cordial but that is all.

The rooms were definitely outdated. The parking lots are not little well. The lights that are in the parking lot are out or not working properly. The TV was very outdated and not a clear picture.

Not the best part of town. Even the nicer Country Inn & Suites next door had questionable activities taking place in and outside of the properties.

Also homeless people living in cars in the rear parking lot.

Adequate lighting would be nice. The parking lot was pitch black at night with people hanging around walking around the hotel that were not guest.

The room was perfect for the event one night stay.

It Great location. Its a little pricey for what the place is. But its a roof over your head been staying there for years so it dose its job

No hot H2O in the shower and no pressure!

Bed was soft and old, hubby and I kept rolling into the middle of the bed all night it was so saggy. Room smelled musty, sat outside most of the time with a drink. Show drain rusty and tiles caving in would not take a shower not mat on the tub. Bird poop everywhere does not look to have been cleaned in a long time. Homeless man slept outside near the wall at the electric box.

If you're simply looking for a place to sleep for one night, its fine for the price. Just remember you get what you pay for. I didn't check into the Hilton, so i didn't expect a Hilton experience.

Found 4 live roaches crawling on the walls of the bedroom and in the bathroom. Asked to be moved to a different room - which was better - but the damage was done.

Honesty I’m positive people were living there. There was definitely drug deals happening all afternoon and evening right outside my room in the parking lot.

Hotel was fine, but I happened to stay during a rare cold front, and there was no heat.

Would not recommend by far the worst thing about my trip staff speak little to no English shower drain was clogged so I requested a new room and they said no everything about this place is just disgusting
