What a cool place to stay! Lots of art and retro ambiance! They give you 2 drink tickets to enjoy a beer or wine. I want to come stay again! Not crazy about the oatmeal breakfast but there were other options you could pay for.

Very old hotel, freshened up with paint, rooms small, air conditioner very noisy, too hot to turn it off, queen bed only option, comfort OK. Staff were awesome, professional and very helpful, breakfast was limited, and oatmeal was lukewarm warm and gluggy. Location was great for the concert we attended in town. Easy on and off the freeway.

The property was nice, but management doesn’t know how to handle third party bookings. They had no WiFi in our room, had no explanation except that they were working on it, and then come to find out they charged me twice for the room. I never would’ve known if I did not check my bank statement. They told me they would only have my card on file for incidentals, but charged it anyways.

I was only passing through and picked this place to stop for the night. It was really one of the nicest little motor hotels I have ever stayed in. I can’t say enough good things about this place. It was absolutely lovely. Anytime I am in Tucson I will stay here.

This is our favorite hotel to stay in when we can afford the price . The price for each room will vary as much as $200 a night in just 3 days . The cleaning of the room seems to have fallen below their standards they have had in the past stays. The front desk staff took three of them to figure out how I was going to pay for the room

Cute artsy retro place! Very clean, with good amenities. Felt very safe staying here. LOVE that they allow dogs, which is why I chose this place because I brought both of mine. They have a small but convenient pet relief area out front, and they keep the pet waste bags stocked. The rooms themselves as well as the exterior have great, fun murals. I would absolutely stay here again.

Interesting decorations. They have murals on the outer walls. Photographs on canvas and other unusual heart inside the rooms. They have a saltwater pool. I would prefer a spa though. They have a bar and they give you two free drinks for your entire. You type in the four digit code it enter your room. They have pinball machines ice machines and an interesting vending machine with cactus in it but of course you can't buy any. One time they had live music but I don't think they do that in that often. They have a continental breakfast with oatmeal and other items. It's called the hotel but I would call it more a motel. It's pretty close to the highway. Individual AC unit motel room. We stayed there at 3 or 4 times. You have a classic Thunderbird car out front.

Love rehabbed, vintage motels. They just have extra vibe. Friendly staff. Easy check in. No room keys. Coded doors. Lobby is large with lots of space to enjoy snacks, beverages and some game time. We were offered 2 drinks (alcohol or non alcoholic) on the house when we arrived. Room size is super cozy. Bathroom, a bit tight. Mattress and pillows, in our opinion, were not the most comfortable. That's the only reason for a 4 star instead of 5. The art is inspiring. The pool area is funky and fun.

I liked the kitchenette included in the room, as it can be convenient for longer stays. I also thought the hotel had a unique and creative concept with a fun artistic atmosphere. The property has potential and a distinctive character that initially attracted me to book my stay. I was genuinely hoping to love Hotel McCoy, but unfortunately my experience was one of the worst hotel experiences I have had as a traveler. One of the first things I noticed is that pets are allowed throughout the property. While I understand some travelers appreciate pet-friendly accommodations, I observed numerous guests bringing dogs in and out of rooms during my stay. Combined with the condition of the rooms, this raised serious concerns about cleanliness and pet hair throughout the property. The first room I was assigned was unacceptable. There was blonde hair in the bathroom sink from a previous guest, dried urine spots underneath the toilet seat, and a throw blanket on the bed that was visibly covered in both human hair and dog hair despite being folded and presented as clean. Several dishes in the room also appeared unwashed. After I reported these issues, the employee assisting me had to check multiple additional rooms in an effort to find one that was acceptable. Even the third room I was ultimately given still fell below basic cleanliness standards. This indicates a much larger problem than a single room oversight. There appears to be a serious issue with housekeeping quality control and supervisory oversight. In addition to the cleanliness concerns, the Wi-Fi was either unavailable or not functioning properly during my stay. As a business owner, this significantly impacted me. I was unable to effectively manage my business, market my products, respond to customers, or complete work that depended on a reliable internet connection. The television in my room was also unusable during my stay. For a stay that cost approximately $200, the experience did not meet even basic expectations for cleanliness, functionality, or guest comfort. I have photographs and video documentation of the conditions I encountered. Because of the numerous issues I experienced, I believe a partial refund of $130 is reasonable and appropriate.

My gratitude goes to those who live life with heart, and to the operators who prioritize more than just profit. The hotel is imbued with an artistic atmosphere throughout, and the breakfast, too, is prepared with great care—featuring a wide variety of tea bags and excellent Arabica coffee beans. The network imposes restrictions on outbound bandwidth; it is recommended to switch directly to Starlink.

What made it more disappointing was that while some employees were warm and helpful, others came across cold and clearly unhappy to be there. Hospitality felt very inconsistent. We also received no compensation or consideration for leaving a day early, even though the conditions were bad enough that we chose to lose the money and leave anyway. That should say something. It’s a place with potential, but the comfort and service issues really overshadowed

Really great place to stay for a staycation. We visited for our son’s graduation and enjoyed it. Free arcade games are fun, pool is clean and well-stocked with towels, breakfast oatmeal bar was good, too. Not really a place for small children. Probably 10 years old and up is okay. The A/C was loud but worked and had a remote. Only thing missing was an iron. They have them, we just couldn’t seem to get our hands on one. The staff are super helpful and friendly! The rooms are laid out nicely and have artwork you can buy. Would stay here again. Check it out : )

Decent motel in southwest Tucson. Eclectic, artsy vibe with an onsite bar with local artists works on display and for sale. Room was clean with a comfortable bed, basic furnishings and a huge TV, but a bit small. Convenient to Route 10, but not much else. It’s in kind of an industrial/warehouse area (eg a FedEx distribution center across the road). There are no restaurants or convenience stores within walking distance. Property is completely non-smoking even outside. They had a nice salt water pool and musical duo playing live on Saturday night.

Oatmeal bar is a nice touch and appreciated. Artwork throughout complex is fun. Loved the token given at check in for alcoholic or nonalcoholic beverage. AC unit in my room was unbelievably loud, very hard to sleep with that racket. Shower faucet was a bit finicky. Had hoped to charge my car while there but it only works for Tesla’s.

We had an outstanding stay at Hotel McCoy! It has that catchy & nostalgic old travel motel vide… much like in Route 66. It is a great place to sit at the bar or patio & meet/mingle with people from all over the country. We only stayed 1 night, but vowed to book longer the next time we’re in that area. I would highly recommend the Hotel McCoy for your stay in Tucson.

The property was interesting. It was clean, though keep expectations within the details of the listing. Don't get me wrong, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Hotel McCoy and would stay again! I stayed for 4 nights. The accommodations were minimal but were up to speed with everything I needed. Breakfast included an oatmeal bar with all of the extras you would need, cereal, bagels, pop tarts, and coffee. The pool area was relaxing as well, a nice place to wind down before dinner. Parking was free and adequate. I was able to park directly in front of my room, or very near. Upon first arrival, I had questions on the typical guests that would stay here. After a few days, it mostly seemed that those traveling along I-10 would stay here, lots of older couples and families. This did put me at ease. I would consider this an option in my next travel to Tucson, and would recommend to others as a casual relaxing, affordable option to the area.

Everything. This place was fantastic. The rooms were so clean and creative. Nice big tv, fun art on the walls that you can purchase, super comfortable beds, and literally the best water pressure I’ve ever felt in my life. Tons of parking just steps from your room, and a code to get into your room so no need to keep track of a key! Books provided, as well as chalk for the back of the door, and an incredible welcoming clipboard with so much information about the hotel, history of Tucson, full menu for the lobby and bar, and great places to go during your stay!! The property was beautiful, and the artwork was incredible. Heated pool, ping pong, video games inside, bar area with food, arcade games, 24 hr gym, pinball room, etc. Our room had a nice kitchen with all utensils, dishes, sink, microwave, nice size fridge and even little stovetop warmers to cook your own food!! Free drink chip upon arrival, huge oatmeal buffet for breakfast, pool and front bar open later than most hotels, a vending machine to bring home Tuscon souvenirs, and neat items in the lobby for gifts as well. We walked around for hours looking at all of the different art, murals and facts about the area. The support of local artisans and the chill vibe of the place was so unique. The view of the mountains and dessert surrounded you, and it was great location to get to the dessert on one side, or to local gem shows and downtown area in the other direction!! Only thing was how loud it was when people closed their doors, and the noise from the highway, but we just turned the ac unit on high and slept just fine! The entire property is non-smoking, so you have to walk out to the main road if you are a smoker—but really didn’t bother me because I respect the vibe and not smoking around other people’s rooms and everything.

Room was clean but no kleenex in stock. Front desk staff was friendly although I was told I could get hot water early (at 5 am) by ringing the bell and no one opened up. However, the next day a coffee pot was found for me, an early riser, and that was great! Two requests- the door code for the room is very hard to see (no backlight on the numbers). and there are no clear directions for using the heat/a/c except for tiny symbols on the remote that are confusing.

Our room was ok, but very dark. The only lights were very small and dim. Bed was extremely comfortable, but the chair was metal. We would have liked a more comfortable chair for watching TV. Room was well equipped and clean. Floor is like a concrete floor, which was weird. But the place is very eclectic so weird is kind of the vibe. Common areas (pool, lobby, etc) were wonderful. We had fun playing the free arcade games and also we spent some time in the pinball room. Location was good, art was cool, people were nice, price was great. Throw an overhead light and a different chair in the room and I'd give it another star.

There was no body wash in the shower and the garbage containers were tiny. While they may call it the "Hotel Mccoy", it was unquestionably a motel. Breakfast everyday consisted of low-quality overcooked oatmeal, white bread which could be toasted, fresh fruit, Toast'em pop ups. It would be great to get away from the sugary pop ups and replace that with something healthier; just about anything would be healthier. Steel cut oatmeal would be a huge improvement over the low quality, overcooked oatmeal and replacing the supercheap white bread with whole grain bread would be great.

The room was clean, not fancy, and the staff were friendly. They had some fun activities you could do out by the pool like ping pong and giant Connect 4. They even give you a token for a free drink at the bar when you check in. The decor outside was bright and colorful. The included breakfast was just ok. Main choices were toast, pop tarts or oatmeal. They had lots of toppings to add to the oatmeal, but if you don’t like oatmeal, you get toast or a pop tart. Coffee and water were also available, but no juice. You have to remember that this is a motel. The noises outside in the parking lot at night can sound like they are in your room. Overall, it was a decent place for an overnight stay.

Everything was literally perfect. The only thing that kept it from being 5 stars was that they did NOT have a free continental breakfast, they had an impressive oatmeal bar with a ton of toppings. One issue, we arent fans of oatmeal. Cant please everybody, we get it. We just weren’t super thrilled about paying out of pocket for breakfast when they advertised a free CONTINENTAL breakfast. Other than that, solid 4 stars and we wiill return.

This is definitely an unusual hotel (motel?). This appears to be an old motel that has been creatively renovated to keep costs down. The flooring was removed to leave a cement subfloor with markings left from the old tiles. The kitchen area is nice and usable. The lighting was inferior, and this was my biggest complaint. Unless you request it there is no housekeeping during your stay. We had to request towels in order to have a reasonable amount. The hot water in our bathroom sink did not work, and we had to wait 3 days for it to get repaired. I appreciated being able to park right in front of our room. The mural painted on one wall and the poetry painted on the wall are a fun touch. The staff were all friendly.

Stayed here two years ago and it was fine. This time not as good. Staff is fine. Old motel that has been refurbished features local art. Two years ago our room was decorated soft bright colors and had a pleasant feel. This time it felt like side of an abandoned building with a mural of two people with dead eyes. Couldn’t shut the lights off fast enough to get some sleep except the noise from the air conditioner and the dueling refrigerator kept me waking up all night. Probably won’t try it a 3rd time.

Not clean at all. The pillows and furniture had a lot of dog hair on it. I couldn't even sleep on the pillows. The floors didnt seem mopped as they were dirty. The other issue i had with this motel was that it stated that it had a playground in the description of the amenities. I asked one of the motel staff where the playground was. She said that there was no playground. My 4-year old daughter excited when i stated that the motel had a playground all for there not to be any when we got there. I was really upset as this was a major reason we decided to stay at the motel. The pros are that you are able to park right in front of your door and its right off the freeway. Due to the dog hair all over the pillows i would never stay there again. So gladni did not have a dog allergy. Its fine to be dog friendly but the motel staff should also clean well if you are going to have many dogs at your motel.

Hotel McCoy is a modern, art-filled place to stay that has been remodeled from an old motel. Even though the rooms are not as large as those in luxury hotels, the entire property is full of art and great people. We loved all the public spaces, including the arcade and gym, the pool and outdoor play area, as well as the lobby and dining room. The staff were very nice and patient. No matter what time we needed help, they were always there and friendly. My family loved the breakfast, especially on Christmas morning. All the guests were together sharing the dining space, wishing each other Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, which made the morning feel incredibly warm and special. The property is pet-friendly and has no extra pet fee, which was amazing.

We arrived in the early hours of the morning. Although the front desk was closed, the experience was seamless because we had completed registration earlier through the online portal, which provided our door code. Late-night arrival was completely stress-free. The building itself is solid brick, which does a surprisingly good job of keeping exterior noise down and adds to the sense of durability you don’t always find in older motor inns. You can hear the nearby interstate, but it isn’t intrusive and didn’t interfere with sleep. One of the most charming aspects of the property is the abundance of murals painted throughout the grounds. They add personality, color, and a strong sense of place, turning what could have been a simple roadside stop into something memorable and distinctly Tucson. The flooring in the room is real tile—retro-inspired but still current—and a welcome upgrade over linoleum or faux finishes. It fits the aesthetic nicely while feeling solid and clean. We stayed in a king suite. The room is not overly large, but it’s thoughtfully laid out. There’s no traditional closet; instead, there are wall pegs for hanging clothes, which aligns with the minimalist, retro feel. The bathroom is small but efficient, and the addition of a compact, charming kitchene

If you like retro- this is your place - even the mini fridge was red. No micro or coffee maker (cause thats’s not retro, right?) Small one level, with parking in front of the room. One of the best breakfasts I have seen - but I love oatmeal- enjoy the walnuts, pecans, sunflower seeds, mini marshmallows, honey, granola. No diet coke and no herbal tea, unless you like pear blossom or something like that. A bar in the lobby - 2 dining/game areas. Didn't know about the small pet area until we checked out because it was upfront before the lobby and we came in at night. Room clean - no closet, but hooks on the wall. Small desk.

I had really high hopes for Hotel McCoy, but my experience was extremely disappointing from start to finish. My room was located at the very back of the property, away from nearly all other guests, which already felt odd. When I entered, the window was open, and the room didn’t match the description I booked. The bathroom conditions were unacceptable. The toilet seat was very loose and felt like it was about to fall off. Several towels looked dirty—one even had a small blood stain—and one towel literally tore apart while I was using it, as if it were dry rotted. The tub and shower walls were covered in pubic hair, which made it clear the room had not been cleaned properly at all. I notified the front desk, but I made it clear I wasn’t asking to be moved or refunded. Their only response was, “I’m sorry.” Then, at 5:20 AM the next morning, I received a text saying I had been moved to the room next door and to transfer my things to my “new clean room.” Ironically, when I checked, another guest was sleeping in that room. When I returned later that afternoon, I tried to enter my original room to get my belongings, but I had been locked out. A staff member had to walk to unlock the door so I could retrieve my things and finally move to the room next door. This stay was frustrating, uncomfortable, and the lack of proper cleanliness and communication was surprising for a hotel with such a positive reputation. Unfortunately, after this experience, I would not stay here again.

This motor lodge is close to the western Saguaro National park which is what I wanted. Check in was easy. The room was good. Most everything was clean and tidy, and things where you would expect them. Good lighting and mirrors over the sink. It is situated right next to the freeway, like right next to it which is the only part I really didn’t like. I was hoping to sit outside when there. It was not too loud once inside the room though. I liked the panel bar. The location is very accessible.

Room was clean, no frills, just what we needed for a night. Keep in mind this is an older hotel that was fixed up, so if your looking for fancy or a splurge, this isn't quite it. There were no amenities and the room was a bit muggy, but it had a window ac unit at the back of the room and when we turned it on it helped dry the room out. We wouldn't be opposed to staying the night again if we needed to, but if we wanted a weekend away we would definitely choose something a little more hotel-ish.

First time to Arizona, for a business trip, so I had no idea where to stay. I searched for days. Found this place and kept going back to it, finally pulled the trigger. Had my whole team book there, 6 of us booked rooms there for our 3 night trip. We all fell in love with this hotel. It is incredible. Not one ill word to say. They have an oatmeal breakfast bar, free!!! With all the fixins, delicious. The art everywhere was beautiful, decor, quirky and so southwest. I bought some prints to take home. Rooms were adorable and clean, bed is comfy! And we were able to come back after our work day and relax at the heated saltwater pool. I felt safe, taken care of, and I couldn’t recommend this place more. I love Tucson and will be back and definitely staying at the McCoy!

The bed was a futon mattress and the sheets and pillows may be the worst I've ever had to sleep on. The coffee too was horrible. And with the hotel right next to the freeway noise is to be expected, but the room I had was right next to the pinball room and it seemed like there was always someone (or 4) hanging about outside my window. It was creepy.

This is a super cute motel that’s easy to access off the freeway. The room was clean and comfortable. We were pulling a small trailer and they don’t really have any room for vehicles like that, so that was a little frustrating and tricky.
