Reviews
Guests generally enjoy their stay at this hotel, praising its cleanliness, convenient location, and friendly staff. The hotel's large rooms, landscaped grounds, and on-site restaurant are also frequently mentioned as positives. However, some guests have complained about minor issues such as bitter coffee in the room, high walls around the parking lot, and a lack of updates to the property. Additionally, a few guests have reported more serious issues such as bugs in the bedding and poor communication from management.
- Clean and conveniently located
- Large rooms and nicely landscaped grounds
- Bitter coffee in the room
- High walls around parking lot and sketchy surroundings

This is the first time we have stayed there in over 20 years. They have really expanded it since then. The facility is great and the staff were really nice! Main part about the stay was my wife really enjoyed it also. You know, happy wife, happy life. We will plan on staying there again in the future.

It was all terrific, including an excellent restaurant!
- 4/5
Lovely property, centrally located. Beautiful landscape on the inside of the gardens. We booked a casita, and while lovely (big/clean/modern but with character), it was a very long walk from the parking, and with many bags and over 100 degrees heat, we ended up changing rooms (massive downgrade) - close to parking lot, but could hear street/traffic noise and people working on the room next door. The pool is very small, water is way too cold, and definitely could use some TLC, didn’t feel inviting or relaxing. Always out of fresh towels. Few comfy chairs and 2 large day beds. Wish there were ice machines somewhere on the property. Ice was only available in the lobby (had to ask each time). The Restaurant within the hotel was ok, decent option if you’re staying in. Overall good stay, but with a few misses. Hotel has daily housekeeping, which was an unexpected plus, since many hotels do not offer it anymore.

The room was spacious, clean and quiet. The staff was friendly and helpful. The pool was clean and refreshing. Ordered a salad from the restaurant…. It was not very good. Just a bowl of lettuce .

Upon check in we noticed the room smelled , was dirty, no A/C and was nothing like the pictures advertised. We immediately checked out. But was still required to pay for one night. Completely disappointed

Love staying here! One of the best staycation in town!

Beautiful place, and beautiful pool area. Relaxing and quiet. I did stay during a weekday but everything was super clean and cozy N|A

Property is pretty however will never stay here again, the wifi wasn’t working and very crucial for me as I work from home the shower did not have a wall to cover the entire shower therefore the ENTIRE bathroom would get wet I used almost all the towels just to soak up the water it was terrible. The room was so hot and thermostat couldn’t go below 72 it just overall was not a good stay for how expensive it was I would NOT recommend there are more affordable and functional properties out there and this was not it.

The atmosphere of the place was nostalgic. Also, the accommodations were spacious and very comfortable. We couldn't get the internet to work. Also, I tried the quick check-out and the number on the phone didn't work.

I didn't like how small is pool is. There were too many people and jacuzzi was full. They close it early as well and I don't understand why. Its summer time and it should be open late. Rooms are cute and properly well maintained. I feel like pool area should be open longer. Its not retirement community lol. I probably won't stay there again
- 5/5
Had a good stay. All went well
- 4/5
Beautiful place and good location. If they put a little money into it, would be a 10/10. Our rooms deadbolt did not work, and the air conditioner could not quite keep up with the 100 degree temps.
- 5/5
If you like beautifully landscaped pathways through gardens full of succulents. This courtyard will not disappoint. The rooms were equally beautifully designed. Comfortable bed, spacious quarter, walk in shower, stocked with everything you need, except a microwave. But there's a great restaurant nearby. This was a beautiful place that we will visit again.
- 5/5
This was an unconventional pleasure Parking is not very convenient to the rooms, but not much they can do about it.

It's a very nice place, historic, exactly what it says lodge on the desert. Me and my husband got to spend the night on the patio we shared with others. We were able to see the stars. My children enjoyed the pool. The room had enough space for my kids to still be kids. I didn't enjoy that when I got to the room after walking down the path to get to my building and then up the stairs to my room number, that once I swiped my card the door still didn't want to open. I thought oh no something has happened to the door or the room or my card didn't work right. My husband tried over and over. I told him to stop before he broke something. The light kept turning green so I felt very confused. While my whole family stood there in the sun I tried to call the front office and I couldn't seem to get through. Just before I was going to walk to the office my husband got the door to finally peel open. It got stuck every time it closed. I got locked out or in my room every time. Also we were gone for a good portion of the day being in the pool then eating and when we returned and wanted to try and get some room service, I noticed my phone to the room didn't work. I couldn't call to get my margaritas for 2 sent to my room like we were promised and the restaurant wouldn't answer the phone to help me either. Also the description of the room I booked wasn't the one I actually received but I didn't want to make a big deal of things so I kept it cause we all still fit and it was still bigger then I regular sized room.

Room semi clean, no microwave, insufficient amount of available outlets, no smart TV, carpet torn and worn. Time to upgrade.
- 4/5
The only improvement I can think of is their water heater. I would have to wait a few minutes for my shower to have hot water. Other than that, everything else was great! I would definitely stay here again
- 5/5
Excellent place to stay. We loved it!
- 3/5
Fantastic place to stay and helpful staff, but there were a few minor issues. Animal scuttling on the ceiling and next door’s AC was slightly loud and the room’s initial cleaning seemed rushed as there was evidence of the last guest, for example an old cherry pit and hair in the bed. The restaurant was also amazing, and we got a free dessert for our anniversary!

Upon arrival, our room was only supplied with two washcloths. When I tried to call housekeeping, the in-room phone housekeeping feature was non-operational. I walked to the front desk to politely request more, only to be met with attitude. The agent balked at the request and actually lectured me on why I should reuse dirty washcloths for the remainder of our stay. The lack of upkeep across the property was also highly noticeable. The pool area—especially around the hot tub—was filthy, lobby trash cans were overflowing, and the exterior staircase leading to our room was so badly damaged it felt structurally unsafe to walk on. To top it off, the buffet breakfast is no longer included in the stay. It’s disheartening to see a place we used to rely on fall into such disrepair. We likely won't be returning.
- 5/5
This place was incredible! The breakfast buffet was a tad expensive for what it was, it should be included. Overall amazing place to stay though

The bartender was friendly and helpful. Wish I had gotten his name.

Beautiful property Housekeeping awful. We were there 3 nites and days with only 3 towels and 2 face clothes. Small rocks all over in carpet. Asked about it and housekeeping brought more towels and said they vacuumed but did not. I left a feather on carpet to test and it didn’t disappear. Bed not changed or straightened - only thrown the comforter on top of messy sheets. Sad

The pool and jacuzzi were really nice to have. Perhaps this is more of a Hotels.com thing, but the staff checking you in VIP access properties needs to be better trained on letting you know what those VIP access perks are. This one missed giving us our free drink voucher.

I love this hotel. It’s pretty and it’s quiet. The rooms are nice and the bathrooms are even nicer. But the room amenities aren’t amazing. There is no microwave and there is no coffee maker. So when you’re planning a “don’t leave the room” type of stay it’s inconvenient. The restaurant was cute but simple. Food was good but they were out of several items. Cocktails were very good

The small size and little condo style accommodation. The pool area the restaurant The check-in/checkout staff … no real thought into asking how your stay was - I had an issue mentioned it and was told sorry about that - they need some customer service training The rooms are basic, dark with no decor The pool area is too small in the surrounding areas as you are nearly sitting with other people I had no internet and called three times and they said they had no issues in the front so it should be working as though I was the issue! I had work to do and bookings to make and couldn’t

We had a very pleasant stay at this lodge! The place is charming, with beautiful Arizona-style grounds that really capture the true desert atmosphere. Our room was spacious, comfortable, and very clean. Breakfast was also very nice and a great way to start the day. Overall, it felt like a truly authentic Arizona experience. We would totally recommend this place and would happily return again!

Great location and helpful staff. Good sized rooms with a handy outdoor seating area. Decent restaurant and bar on site plus other good options either in walking distance or by a 5 minute uber ride. Good location for getting to anywhere in the city and convenient for many of the attractions. Would recommend and will certainly stay here when we’re back in Tucson.

Quaint but well taken care of hotel that feels like you've been swept away to Portugal when inside the property. The pool was not as warm as we'd hoped, since it said Heated Pool, but we enjoyed the serene atmosphere none the less. All of the staff were amazing. The food at Cielo's was very good. We enjoyed both a dinner and a lunch at the property. Finally, the property was quiet. And not just quiet, but the kind of quiet that brings you peace. We will return.

I had stayed here once before several years ago, and I loved it just as much this time, maybe more! It is the most beautiful property. Love it, love it, love it!

Our room was spacious, clean and quiet. The staff was friendly and helpful, however whenever I tried to call the hotel the phone rang and rang, with nobody answering. I had to call back a few times before someone actually picked up. The breakfast buffet was less than wonderful, however, we are spoiled by the breakfasts at most European hotels. The restaurant is nice with a very pretty outdoor patio.

Awesome room, balcony, pool, very pleased with our stay
- 4/5
The hotel is on a busy street, but once on property, it is comfortable and reasonably quiet. The king suite room was spacious, and we chose it to have a balcony. The direct view from the balcony was of another part of the hotel, but to one side was a view of mountains, and we could see the pool from the other side. Limited options for walking to restaurants, but overall a good base location for day trips in the Tucson area.

Place looked nice Front desk young girl couldnt crack a smile or be personable to save her life. I also asked for another robe and told her I was at pool and she delivered it to the room. Pool was too small and hot tub was really small. We tried to enjoy the facilities but was unsuccessful. And just when we got into the hot tub to finish our evening we got kicked out cause it was 10. Could have given us 15 mins since we just got able to use it after waiting for snotty kids and parents who don’t have any realization what a shared space is
- 5/5
Definitely Exceeded My Expectations! Wonderful Stay !

We loved this little desert oasis surrounded by strip malls and wide car-filled streets. The grounds are beautifully landscaped. We enjoyed the pool and a drink at the restaurant. The hotel has a lot of vintage charm.

The room was clean and spacious and the restaurant was nice. We could hear the traffic noise from our room and other guests. The bathroom didn't have a magnifying mirror.
- 5/5
They had a full-service fine dining restaurant but we didn't eat their breakfast. They had fresh coffee in the lobby. The lobby coffee was very convenient but if you wanted anything else or decaf...that's what the on-site restaurant was for.

The grounds were nice. Our room was large, comfortable and clean. The on-site restaurant was excellent- we ate dinner there both nights. Highly recommended. No breakfast included. The location was a 10 minute drive from the interstate.
- 4/5
We've stayed at several hotels with our dog, and most of them provided a dog bed, dog dish, etc for the extra fee - but we didn't receive any “welcome” for our pup. The hotel room was very spacious and overall fit our needs, but it was a bit dated, and we rarely interacted with staff again for the rest of the trip until check-out (when we had to wait for someone to return to the front desk to check us out). Overall, not bad but definitely not welcoming.
- 4.5/5
Excellent retro example of Tucson architecture. The coffee in the lobby was nice. The grounds and the pool were nice. Access required detours due to road construction.
- 5/5
The property was beautiful and nicely kept. We loved the grounds, pool and hot tub and Cielos Restaurant was a great place to enjoy breakfast before our excursions and dinner or a drink in the evenings. The cleaning staff was amazing, so nice to come back to a spotless room and clean bedding and towels each afternoon. We will definitely be back and will recommend Lodge on the Desert to all of our friends and family!

Great boutique hotel. Clean, older hotel . Beds are comfy
- 5/5
Beautiful as always. Front desk always fun and efficient. Beautiful grounds. Easy parking
- 2/5
Staff customer service was just bad. The person who checked me in was just rude and unfriendly to me on sight. I thought maybe that was just her personality but she was bubbly and great with other guests who came in. The morning shift guy was also strange - when I went to get a drink from the cooler, after asking him to put it on my room tab, he heavily eyed the cooler to make sure all I took was a bottle of water. Selective poor customer service from the get-go. Not a good way to treat guests. Maybe they need some more training.
- 4/5
The high sink in the bathroom was hard for me to use. The grounds are lovely and the location convenient.
- 5/5
Beautiful grounds. Friendly staff. Room was perfectly clean and very comfortable. Near the Locale restaurant that was very good. We would definitely stay again.
- 5/5
This is such a lovely property and so central to everything! We were glad that we could walk to things (we do walk a lot so, yes, it was a mile to Starbucks walking but that's fine.) We had a great casita at the back of the property away from the pool which was sometimes, walking past, noisy. But it's a lovely, lovely lodge and we enjoyed the spacious, clean, quiet room
- 4/5
This is a boutique hotel. It's an old property with a lot of unique charm. They give you a map when you check in and circle the room location. On the back it says what numbers to call from your room for certain services. Too bad my room didn't have a phone. :-/ We did find our way to the restaurant and discuvered an absolute gem! The service and food were amazing and the prices were fair. They even had liver entertainment starting at 6 PM.
- 5/5
The grounds were beautifully kept. It felt like a botanical garden. Excellent restaurant, Cielo's, on site. Pool and hot tub were small but very clean and comfortable.
- 4/5
We enjoyed the unique ambiance of this hotel and how it reflected the area. Not just another chain hotel. It was centrally located with southwest charm. The room was spacious and included a desk and a comfortable easy chair. Great bathroom.
- 3/5
We did have some issues but since we were only in town for the night, we didn’t bring them up with staff and were not asked about our stay when checking out. First, the shower was very difficult to turn on. You need some arm strength! I had to ask my husband for help. The water pressure was horrible, but could be due to the age of the lodge. They also only supplied 3 towels and when we attempted to call for more, we found that our phone wasn’t working. Lastly, on the morning of checkout, at 9 am, while we were still in bed, housekeeping knocked twice and then proceeded to unlock the door and enter the room! My husband jumped up and held the door to prevent her for coming in. She didn’t apologize, only asking if he needed anything. Based on the amazing reviews, which is the reason I chose this place, I’m sure my experience was unique, but we won’t be returning.

Tamales at the restaurant were the BEST!!
- 3/5
There was a strong smell in the room (like old abandoned cabin or rotten wood). We used some air odor fresheners to contrast the smell. Other than that, the stay was pretty much straight forward.

Facility was nice. But the room had a sulfur smell and the bathroom is really in need of an update.

Lodge on the Desert is quite a gem. We loved the private nature of this accommodation, a small oasis inside an otherwise very bustling city. The on-site dining was incredible. Ben helped us choose cocktails and tamales for dinner- so good! Our suite was 100% Arizona which was a great way to launch our weeklong journey across the state! Packed with history and modern charm we would highly recommend this location. Only feedback would be that the shower was poorly lit and didn't have great water pressure or ability to adjust the head for taller travelers.

Easy and friendly. Room was clean. Mattress need
- 5/5
The room was clean and very spacious. The staff was courteous and friendly. My husband and I enjoyed the charm of the place. We ate in the outdoor area of the restaurant enjoying the food and ambiance.
- 5/5
a very cozy, walkable campus.
- 5/5
Clean room and property.
- 5/5
The room was clean and comfortable; the spa and pool were great. Staff was friendly and efficient. Was here before and would come again!
- 3/5
It would have been great if I was given the room I Thought I reserved. Instead I was given a small room with an even smaller bathroom. Was disappointed because when I tried to ask the girl working she became very rude with her response. I left the hotel early all together

Loved the casita with 2 rooms, the beds are wonderful. Staff are so nice and the facilities were beautiful. Would definitely stay there again!
- 4/5
Great front desk. They were all very friendly and helpful. Room was good! The restaurant was top notch, no doubt. The only drawback was that there was no gym - other than that, it is a very nice hotel.
- 5/5
The area was beautiful. Building’s & landscape were lovely & the convenience of a restaurant was great & appreciated.
- 4/5
Only issue was the inability to obtain a room key upon check-in. Not the staff's fault as it was a system issue beyond their control. They did offer to let me in room as needed before key was finally avalable a few hours after check-in.
- 5/5
Everything about this hotel was great. Superb room with small fireplace, quiet bedrom, comfortable bed, convenient parking, friendly staff. Highly recommendeded!
- 4/5
Clean and quiet
- 5/5
The room was quiet and clean and had a big bathroom. The staff at the front desk were so friendly and helpful
- 5/5
We were only there for one night, but staff was friendly and room was charming and suited our needs (we were attending a concert at La Rosa nearby.) We will keep it on the list for future Tucson stays.
- 5/5
Clean room, lovely staff and nice restaurant.
- 1/5
Horrible. Changed owners, smelled like a dead body in my room. Never again.
- 5/5
Great location an oasis in the city
- 5/5
I hotel grounds are just so well kept. Room immaculate. Love the fire place ! What's better than sitting by a hot tub on a warm Arizona day ?
- 5/5
Very nice hotel. Great restaurant, although long wait even with reservations, but was worth it
- 5/5
We had a very nice stay. Check-in and check-out were seamless. Our room was cleaned and stocked with new towels daily, as requested. The grounds are beautiful, and the hot tub was a relief after hiking.
- 5/5
Everything was great 👍
- 5/5
Outstanding hotel with old style charm
- 5/5
Best stay with my pets loved the sui
- 3/5
Room was fine, just very dated. Staff was great. Need to update and freshen rooms
- 2/5
Bathroom smelled of sewer gases. Maintenance was called each of the three days. They came and resealed toilet, installed new tub closure all to no avail. All in all, avoided the bathroom and requested compensation, which they honored. Not sure I would return after this experience!
- 5/5
Thus lodge was so relaxing. Really enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere. The pool area is very very nice and inviting. The landscaping is very nice and the staff is very friendly. We will definitely return.

- 5/5
Lovely grounds and excellent housekeeping. Friendly staff and great location.
- 5/5
Room was beautiful clean. I felt like I was at a resort. I would come back in a heartbeat
- 4/5
Room was clean.
- 5/5
Lovely hotel with accommodating staff. The king suite was large and very comfortable
- 5/5
Clean, comfortable. Dog friendly. Great restaurant.
- 4/5
The room was clean. Staff was helpful, Jazmine.
- 5/5
The room was larger than expected. The hotel was beautifully maintained. Our fireplace didn't work at first but they sent someone right away to fix the pilot light. The staff were extremely friendly. I can't wait to go back to stay again.
- 5/5
The room was a decent size but a little on the older side. The bed was comfortable and there was a small seating area plus a desk and chair. The room didn’t have an overhead light only lamps, the windows had shutters which kept out a lot of light. The bathroom was small considering there is plenty of available room to allow it to be bigger. The shower had the best water pressure I’ve ever experienced, I believe the water heated via an on-demand water system so the shower takes a couple of seconds to heat up, the sink didn’t have hot water unless the shower was on. The room is 3-4 stars but the gardens around property make my rating 5 stars!
- 5/5
Clean
- 3/5
The place was really cool. Gorgeous grounds and landscaping. The room could use a fresh coat of paint and a deep clean but it is the original structure. The bedding and pillows are amazing! I didnt want to get out of bed! Check in staff was quick and professional but certainly not warm or inviting. My main reason for 3 stars was the strong odor of sewage between the bathroom and the mini fridge alcove. You didnt smell it throughout the suite, but in thar area it was quite noticeable. I would return and give it another try, though.
- 2/5
We have stayed here many times but will not be going back anymore. Wi-Fi didn’t work for 2 days, No USB ports in room, Room smelled of wet dog, No garbage cans available outside, which was needed due to maid service was unavailable for 3 days. Our carpet was torn and falling apart, there is no microwave. Basically this place is in need of updating and remodel.
- 5/5
Courteous staff
- 5/5
The staff was so helpful and kind!
- 5/5
Outstanding staff!!!
- 5/5
Great staff, adorable rooms, and really good food!
- 5/5
Absolutely beautiful and well kept. I would definitely book again.
- 3/5
Staff was friendly but I wish the room/property had been cleaner for what we paid
- 2/5
Welcome free cocktails we’re not given. The suite I reserved wasn’t available but I wasn’t told so went to the room and had To go change rooms. The front desk person was not apologetic and just said they were at 96% occupancy. No credit or any compensation was offered.
- 5/5
The staff was helpful. The fireplace was nice in the evenings when we got back to our room. The hot tub and the pool were clean. The restaurant on-site has a great happy hour every day.
- 5/5
Clean room, superior bathroom layout and function, comfortable bed, very helpful staff.
- 5/5
Awesome property and location very clean
- 5/5
Beautiful property in every way.
- 5/5
The room was clean, the grounds were well maintained, and the staff was courteous.
- 4/5
Room was spacious and clean. Staff was friendly and helpful.
- 4/5
We had continual problems with the WiFi.
- 5/5
The room was beautiful and incredibly comfortable.
- 5/5
The casita we stayed was so charming with a king bed, persian rugs on the floor and a kiva fireplace. The bathroom was spacious with a large tiled shower and excellent water pressure. Service was great. Beautiful pool and hot tub. I love staying at Lodge on the Desert!!!
- 5/5
Great breakfast and excellent service
- 5/5
Clean, comfortable with some really nice amenities.
- 5/5
landscaping quite impressive (also very close to Tucson Botanical Garden) fireplace in room was fun, clean, helpful staff
- 2/5
The next room was very clean and quiet. On our second night the ceiling started leaking water onto our bed at 10pm We were moved to another room right away The new room was very clean but again had a faint odor This is a cute older hotel with lots of charm and well kept grounds. But we were unlucky with room assignments. I wouldn’t stay again
- 3/5
The breakfast buffet was definitely disappointing and not worth the $40 we spent. We ate at the onsite buffet because it was convenient and we were pressed for time. I would have much rather found a Village Inn or Waffle House to eat at for that kind of money. Again, convenience won out for breakfast. The minor suggestion of needing your parking spaces repainted isn’t impacting my decision not to stay there again. And an actual coffee maker in the room would have been nice, as opposed to the electric kettle and “steeped coffee” that was offered. I don’t want to have to leave my room at 6 am in the windy cold to find a Starbucks in order to have what I know will be a coffee. Overall the room was clean and the grounds were quiet and pretty but next time we’re in Tucson we will probably spend the money ($350) on a two night stay in an air bnb.
- 5/5
The room was exceptional, however, the young girl that was the night clerk was very rude and unfriendly but i would recommend the Lodge to family and friends.
- 5/5
Room was comfy & clean. My wife and i would stay here agian.
- 5/5
The staff was amazing. Chris at the front desk was a very attentive and helpful, Great staff member! Wes at Cielos restaurant on property was also an amazing staff member. GREAT PLACE TO STAY!!!!!

- 5/5
Amenities are really great, rooms are spacious. Great place
- 5/5
Beautiful place, quiet, nice clean, staff are friendly and helpful. Located in a very convenient street. Definitely will come back again.
- 4/5
The property was beautiful. Pool was pretty awesome. Restaurant staff was amazing. The area was like a little village. Wish the room drama hadn’t messed it all up. And honestly if the staff or manager were interested in even communicating and caring about their patrons… would change a lot. I paid $200 a night and that was not worth it. A response or compensation is what I am looking for.
- 4/5
The grounds at the Lodge were very well kept. The rooms were clean and nicely appointed, but lacking a microwave. This is an important omission for anyone with special diet needs, or to simply reheat a cup of coffee. The breakfast was simple but well made. However, expect to pay over $20 if you leave a gratuity, for being served coffee or a beverage. The rest of the breakfast is a self-serve buffet. We enjoyed our stay, but not 5 stars.
- 3/5
I choose this hotel because of the ratings. I’m not so sure I agree. It’s a nice hotel. But it’s a long ways from the interstate. Front desk was so so. The restaurant was excellent. Lots of stairs.
- 5/5
Very favorable stay.
- 5/5
And... the dog charge is a daily charge. It should just be a one-time charge.
- 2/5
The front desk was not able to make us keys to get in to our room. Some system problem. They let us in our room two hours ago. Still no keys.
- 4/5
Hours are 7-10. got there at 9. Out of bacon/sausage. Pretty limited choices especially vegetarian. Rather disappointing, especially for the price. There is a variety better, cheaper breakfast places within a mile or two.
- 4/5
Nice sweet hotel to relax and enjoy.
- 5/5
Amenities, staff, grounds, sufficient parking,
- 5/5
Guest service was always prompt and helpful. Loved the charm of the hotel and thr room had everything we needed for a week long stay.
- 2/5
I booked a specific room and was given a down graded room. When i informed the check in clerk he said i could either upgrade for a fee or cancel my reservation instead of giving me the room i researved. Highly disappointed!
- 5/5
This lodge is fabulous, so welcoming. Rooms are beautiful. The grounds are gorgeous
- 4/5
Room was roomy, gorgeous grounds and buildings, easy location
- 5/5
We headed over to the restaurant, Cielos, which was very bustling. The hostess was extra accommodating and got us a table in the bar area. Our server was Benjamin, who was also the bartender. He was extremely busy but he did not miss a beat taking care of us. His service was impeccable and the cocktails he mixed for us were outstanding. We had the chips/salsa, Manchego cream pasta, green chile tamales, and cheesecake for dessert… everything was delectable! The room was clean and spacious. We relaxed in the oversized jetted tub and the fireplace made the room extra cozy. The super comfortable bed and pillows made it easy to get a good night sleep. The grounds are very beautifully landscaped with lots of native plants and desert wildlife metal art. This along with the building architecture, represent the heart of Tucson well. The highlight of our stay was the grey and white cat that greeted us in the courtyard upon check in, bid us a good evening after dinner, and wished us a Merry Christmas on our departure!
- 5/5
Clean and very pretty
- 4/5
Sound insulation of the room was not good.
- 4/5
Room was clean and staff was great
- 3/5
No microwave in my room. This room is a suite so I paid extra, and no microwave? Shocked by that. Weird coffee maker situation too. Also paid extra to be in a room with a jetted tub and the jets were VERY weak, and one wasn't working at all. Could have sworn the description said bfast was included, but the voucher I got was for free chips and salsa and a drink. Wasn't interested in that.
- 4/5
Overall experience was good. The property is beautiful with views of the Catalina’s from our room. The room could use a deep clean. We had a very good deep sleep. You cannot hear other guest on site at all which is a plus. We will stay again when we return.
- 5/5
Courteous young gentleman greeted me and provided me with detailed information. The room is spacious and clean. I especially enjoy walking to the restaurant Cielos on the grounds. Christmas morning buffet breakfast was top notch. The grounds are will manicured and a pleasure to behold. I always stay at the Lodge when in town
- 5/5
Beautiful room on beautiful grounds.
- 5/5
The only suggestion we would have is that the king suite needs a love seat or another chair so 2 people could enjoy the fireplace together.
- 3/5
It was good. Nothing more than that. One of the chairs in the room had torn leather and that just leaves a negative impression. The room was average at best. Pillows were like bags of sand. Wouldn’t stay here again unless I had too.
- 4/5
at first in noted the age of the unit and thought it looked a bit wore down, a bit! but when i see this place is almost 100 years old, i must say it is in amazing shape and my thoughts on the place changed. I love a ceiling fan when i sleep and was happy to see one in the room. unfortunately, the fan had such a severe wobble to it that i was unable to use it.
- 5/5
It was average breakfast food for the price
- 5/5
The staff was excellent and responsive. The grounds are well maintained.
- 5/5
Room upgrade-Wonderful!!!
- 5/5
Our room was wonderful and close to the bar and restaurant. We always enjoy our stay at Lodge on the Desert.
- 3/5
The rooms were very clean and the property is quite charming. The rooms however are dated.
- 5/5
room was clean and beautiful and the staff was outstanding.
- 5/5
Yes
- 5/5
This is my favorite place to stay in Tucson. The property is set up like individual, southwest casitas with a few rooms sharing their own outdoor courtyard. The rooms are large, feeling more like a studio apartment than a hotel and have rustic feel to them. The bed was super comfy and the towels are even thicker than most places I stay for business - such a treat.
- 5/5
The location and staff were very friendly! The breakfast offerings could be better!
- 5/5
Very clean, comfortable bed
- 5/5
Nice place, we will be back.
- 3/5
$20 a plate for what at a Best Western is free seems steep for the breakfast buffet. No room service was a drag. Very little privacy, our patio was at the entry to the restaurant, so hotel and restaurant guests were constantly walking by. But the room, fireplace, and spa were nice.
- 4/5
Room was great! The only missing was a microwave
- 5/5
Excellent
- 5/5
Wonderful room. Beautiful setting. Terrific dinner.
- 5/5
We have been staying at the Lodge for years. Great property and location.
- 3/5
We were first time visitors in Tucson and really hoped to spend some time “downtown”. The property was advertised as being 1.2km from downtown, but it’s not really. It’s more like 3 miles or an 11mins drive. There’s a bus (no. 8) that takes you into downtown but it’s a 30 mins travel, albeit free - or of course there’s the rideshare options but it’s not walkable - which was disappointing fo us. The room was nice and spacious but nothing that a popular hotel chain wouldn’t provide besides a bath robe and a double sink in the bathroom. In our room we had a bath and a shower but the bath plug was either missing or broken because we couldn’t fill up the tub. We also had a safe in the room which we tend to use in other hotel but in this one it wasn’t working. And disappointingly we only got provided one bath robe when the room was booked as a double bed with 2 guests. One of the towels was also a little dirty (not awful but noticeable). We are genuinely curious as to what makes this hotel so wonderful. Maybe we just had an exceptionally unlucky experience and we didn’t bother raising it with the hotel staff because we only stayed one night (we wanted to stay in a nice downtown hotel for one night).
- 3/5
Tap continuously dripped which was annoying at night. Sink was also stained and oxidized, gave the impression it was not clean. Our first room we checked into had a broken thermostat and smelled bad, they switched our room with no problem. Second room the door broke and they had to come reset it. Will not stay again but it was fine overall. Pool was cute and landscaping was nice.
- 3/5
Housekeeping ignored do not disturb sign and made bed, etc.
- 5/5
The room was beautiful and clean! We loved the fireplace and how spacious the room was.
- 5/5
Great hotel!
- 4/5
We had a great stay! The room was large with a cozy fireplace. We also loved the on site restaurant. The only downside was over our three night stay, our room was not cleaned once! Even after I asked the front desk person on day two at the front desk, we only got towels delivered. I asked the next day if someone could come and clean our room and someone showed up with a trash bag as I proceeded to empty our trash cans into the bag as they stood at our door. They really dropped the ball in that respect. Otherwise, I would love to stay there again the next time I visit Tucson.
- 5/5
Overall good experience
- 5/5
The Room was Fabulous and the Staff Awesome!!
- 5/5
Nice room and property. Good food and service. Check in was a bit impersonal.
- 5/5
Yes
- 5/5
Clean room and the staff were very nice. I really enjoyed my stay.
- 4/5
Rooms can vary dramatically. Fireplace room was more sparse and outdated than a smaller casita. Breakfast was not included for Expedia customers and not worth $18. Was told by waitstaff that juice was “extra $” and not included. Desk staff hard to reach. Don’t expect a romantic stay or luxury visit..but pool area was nice.
- 4/5
I asked if the breakfast was included. The person at the desk asked my room # and replied no you made your reservation with Expedia. I think Expedia and the property should be upfront that there is a 2 tier experience. Left with a negative impression of what had been a good stay.
- 5/5
Lovely old school Arizona hotel. Charming and unique, lovely room would stay here again when in town
- 5/5
Yes the room was spotless and the staff was very helpful
- 5/5
The property was absolutely beautiful; our rooms were spotless and so cozy. We will definitely be coming back soon!
- 5/5
Clean room, comfortable bar and great foos
- 2/5
Walked in to check in and the front desk lady says “weren’t you just here” no greeting or anything. As we walk to our room, door 219 doesn’t open even though it’s the right key. As we go back to tell staff she says “oh yeah the door is difficult to open”, wouldn’t you fix it or let the guest know?.
- 5/5
Clean rooms. Comfy beds. Great location.
- 4/5
clean room good staff
- 5/5
Nice, spacious room, great restaurant, fantastic pool and friendly staff.
- 5/5
Excellent in really every way every time we stay!!
- 4/5
Unfortunately we did not get the room I reserved. They only have 2 of those rooms and they were already booked. Communication and the Cielos restaurant website needs to be updated. The food was delicious but the ribeye on the website was not available at the restaurant. It was my husband’s birthday and he was disappointed. Also we were told there was live music on Friday night and there is not, only Saturday night. The breakfast menu is no longer available, it is now a breakfast bar. Minor things but a string of them. Needs better management. The Happy Hour was excellent.
- 5/5
Great hotel
- 5/5
Even getting to the room was a wonderful experience: I walked through a fantastic cactus garden that was beautifully landscaped and lit at night. The room itself was amazing - large, cozy with a gas fireplace. But the most important part was the linens - the sheets were the softest, nicest sheets I've ever slept in.
- 5/5
Room was clean, well decorated and updated. Bed was very comfortable, and the area was really quiet.
- 5/5
absolutely fantastic
- 5/5
Staff was wonderful. Room was huge and cozy. It was quiet and relaxing. Id recommend to anyone.
- 5/5
I had a good nights rest. Clean, and everything worked.
- 5/5
Clean, handicapped accessible, cute decor, good restaurant, nice pool
- 5/5
Great room and hotel location
- 4/5
Clean. Relaxing. Restaurant and bar staff were very nice.
- 5/5
Very lovely oasis in an otherwise barren location. Once you're inside the hotel grounds it feels like you are somewhere else. Rooms are spacious (though some casita bathrooms are small), it's quiet, the grounds are well kept, and all the staff was friendly and helpful. Great location for soccer tournament at Kino. Would stay here again!
- 5/5
Great place & a nice location. Picturesque hotel with clean spacious rooms.
- 5/5
Quiet, great staff and nice eatery.
- 5/5
Our stay was great. Everything was clean and the people were nice. In fact we came back for a 2nd night.
- 4/5
The breakfast, although not included, was much better than what is normally served as included.
- 5/5
Nice room clean private environment.
- 5/5
Beautiful lodge and extremely peaceful. The staff was amazingly kind and helpful, especially Christian. Cielos Restaurant had fantastic drinks and food. We will definitely be back.
- 4/5
We always stay at LOTD when visiting Tucson. We subtracted a point for this stay because the water couldn't get hot for the shower. That was a brisk wake-up!
- 5/5
We had a very enjoyable stay. We loved our fireplace.
- 5/5
Excellent service! Wonderful food.
- 5/5
Always Wonderful
- 5/5
This is a GREAT spot, it's rustic, beautiful grounds, quiet, peaceful. The staff is very nice and the room was amazing. A huge jacuzzi tub for 2 and a fireplace, so spacious the bathroom was gigantic and so was the room. We will return many times in the future, we just loved it!
- 5/5
Room was clean and comfy, staff are very pleasant and helpful, architecture is welcoming (Spanish colonial or maybe Mediterranean?). The pool and hot tub are crystal clear and warm even in cool late October. This is becoming our favorite place to stay in Tucson.
- 5/5
Nice place close to downtown.
- 5/5
The Casita room was great, and just steps away from the excellent restaurant where we had a ferfect meal with drinks. At all times the staff was professional and friendly. We will definitely be coming back for the hotel and restaurant separately and together.
- 5/5
Room was great & exactly as pictured.
- 4/5
Our room was a bit dated and musty, but the property amenities were nice and the location to campus was great.
- 5/5
This was a gem! Pretty grounds. Well cared for. Reasonably priced. Away from the busy area. The rooms were clean and super comfy bed. Generally a well cared for complex. And the Cielo’s restaurant next door had the unusual combo of amazing food and excellent service courtesy of Ben!
- 5/5
Everything has been excellent every time, from staff to room.
- 4/5
Pool wasnt heated.
- 5/5
Very convenient room layout, centrally located in Tucson but still felt like a resort! Had a very relaxing time here! Also great that there was not an additional cost for parking.
- 4/5
long black hairs on the ceiling above the shower and in the shower, kinda gross, doesn't make me feel like it was thoroughly cleaned between guests. other than that the facilities are outstanding, the resturaunt was amazing and parking is secure and safe.
- 4/5
Hotel grounds are beautiful. Our room was in a location adjacent to the road and a little loud at times. The rooms are nicely decorated but ours showed its age. We had a problem with our shower drain not draining but hotel staff fixed it very quickly and then cleaned the bathroom and provided new towels immediately after the repair. Wish we had not had the problem but their response time was excellent. Had drinks and appetizers at the restaurant and all were excellent. Had breakfast at the restaurant 2 mornings, it was buffet style and decent but lacked variety for the cost.
- 2/5
Breakfast area badly understaffed - the ones there did their best, but were overwhelmed. Overall poor - more concerned with saving money than serving guests.
- 5/5
Overall, I enjoyed my stay
- 5/5
I did a previous review in error - thought it was for another place we stayed on this trip. The place was nice, the front desk person checking us in was super nice, very friendly. There're only two complaints. The poor-quality pillows and the glass block around the bath. What is up with that? Whoever thought that was a good idea was clearly not inside when it was being done. lol.. That was a little disturbing. People could see into the bathroom, shadows but still see in. But I thought the space was nice. Roomy room. We could see where a big spill was on the carpet, not sure if it was from a pet or? We travel through twice a year and would stay again, another room and bring our own pillows maybe?
- 4/5
We had a really nice stay at Lodge on the Desert! The property has a beautiful, relaxed atmosphere and the pool area was definitely one of the highlights—peaceful, clean, and perfect for unwinding. We booked a fireside casita and while it didn’t quite match the photos (ours didn’t have the full couch and seating area shown in the listing), it was still a lovely room. The little fireplace added such a cozy touch, especially in the evenings. Overall, it was a comfortable and enjoyable stay. We’d definitely consider returning—just might double-check room details next time to make sure we get exactly what’s pictured.
- 5/5
Excellent facilities. Clean and quiet
- 5/5
Clean room - didn't use any of the other amenities
- 4/5
The grounds are incredible and beautiful, the buildings have a strong sense of authenticity and I really liked how the rooms were layed out.
- 3/5
The grounds are mostly beautiful and well kept. The restaurant was a bit understaffed. There was one person working the bar, a few tables and making drinks and one young woman as hostess, waiting and serving tables in the main dining room. She was very friendly and the food was good. The room was tidy, but there were several broken tiles. I called the office to let them know. There was much room left for decor improvements. The beds are bit uncomfortable, and I think the a/c wasn’t working properly. I woke up a few times during the night feeling too hot. I tried setting the thermostat as low as I could, and it’d cool down a bit, but I’d wake up to a warm room. This happened about 4 times.
- 5/5
Everything about our stay was very nice and worth the price.
- 5/5
Our favorite place in Tucson. Such beautiful grounds and rooms! So spacious too. Our doodle loved it as well.
- 5/5
Great property 10 mins from U of A. Will stay again!
- 4/5
The property was just as described! A great location, great dining option, and the staff was excellent!
- 4/5
My family enjoyed our stay, the only thing that was negative is there was a dirty towel hanging in the shower, the shutters were broken next to the bed, and the lotion next to to sink is watery and kind groce. We are simple people so we didn't complain, but just so you know where things can be improved
- 5/5
What a great experience! Close to U of AZ campus, quiet and clean casitas with friendly staff. Will be back for Mom’s weekend!
- 3/5
No view
- 5/5
Great place
- 5/5
Nice rooms. Convenient location. Fabulous pool.
- 3/5
Property rates an A. HVAC is an F. Slept with the patio door open both nights as room temp was over 80. Request to get it fixed for the second night was unsuccessful. With the door closed it was a sauna.
- 4/5
Nice and clean
- 5/5
It is a beautiful property, with lovely grounds. There is a restaurant on sight that has decent food. There are lots of other restaurants close by.
- 5/5
Everything was amazing. The room was fantastic. The staff was great. The grounds are immaculate and they are pet friendly.
- 5/5
If you like cooke cutter corporate america settings then pass on The Lodge on the Desert. My wife and I loved the history of this unique, tranquil oasis. We booked a suite and were very pleased with our stay. The rooms are filled with character and charm. There are not perfect walls or bathrooms. What you do get is clean and very comfortable. Every room is different. The walking paths from parking to all the rooms is laid out so uniquely with cactus and native plants. We were informed by hotel management that John Wayne, Jimmy Stewart and Bing Crosby stayed here before. The history of this place is so interesting. The staff was attentive and friendly throughout our two day stay. We loved Lodge on the Desert.
- 4/5
The surrounding areas on the grounds were beautiful with flowers and cactus.
- 4/5
No night clerk, was checked in by security; pool not heated
- 4/5
Second time I stayed here in the spa king. The room has a huge jetted tube nice for soaking and a fireplace. Overall I like the room but this second time they didn't clean the tub very good and they had built up dust in a corner around the tub. There was mold in the tile grout in the shower. The bed and the rest of the room was clean. I would probably stay here again I'm hoping it was a one time thing. I did let the staff know when checking out.
- 5/5
Quaint place, friendly staff. Will absolutely stay here on next family trip

Staff was very helpful and friendly. Room was comfortable and clean. Restaurant was great. I especially loved the enchiladas. Different (and better) than any I’ve had anywhere, and I’ve lived all over the country, currently in San Antonio.

Comfortable bed! Lovely pool.
- 5/5
The rooms are impeccably clean and well kept. The staff were friendly and very helpful. We loved our stay!

I had a much better time during my last visit!

At Breakfast my coffee was burnt and my parfait was warm, extremely over priced !
- 5/5
Great stay as usual
- 5/5
Great location
- 5/5
Nice stay.
- 5/5
Such a beautiful, exotic place. Absolutely loved the setting with the beautiful desert landscaping and cottages grouped together.
- 3/5
Grounds were clean and tidy. Breakfast was very bad. Whirlpool tub in our room was not clean, my wife had to clean it herself. All shampoo and conditioner in bathroom were empty. Need more attn. To room cleaning.
- 5/5
Staff was friendly. Restaurant was excellent. Room carpet is old and I wish they would have had some cheap sandals.
- 5/5
Thank you for a quiet stay

There were a few dead roaches in the room when we got there, not surprising, I’ve lived in Tucson, they pop up from the drains occasionally. At least you know the pest control is doing their job. Otherwise the rooms were nice for an older building. The A/C doesn’t quite keep up with the August heat but the room did get down to a passable 76 by 8 pm despite it being over 105f outside. The grounds overall were gorgeous, the hotel is almost dead center of Tucson so it’s convenient for anything you want to do, and the pool was great and open late to enjoy the stars. Staff was amazing, and housekeeping kept us stocked with fresh towels and neatly made beds our entire stay.
- 5/5
Really nice place with a great restaurant on site. Rooms are massive and clean. Highly recommend
- 4/5
Great staff & comfy beds!
- 5/5
Loved the meal and drinks at Cielo’s
- 4/5
A very nice, clean place with a professional, friendly staff. It is pet friendly and having a restaurant on the property added to the enjoyment of staying here. If you are tied to your technology, internet, etc, note that there are only traditional outlets in the room (no USB, etc) and we found the wifi to be weak. We did receive a strong 5G signal on our phones and used our hotspots to connect instead of the available wifi. Also, if you can't walk up stairs, there is no elevator to the second floor and there are two floors of rooms.
- 3/5
The hotel was very quaint and the room was nice. It was the front desk service that left much to be desired.
- 4/5
The room was large, very clean, nice television, staff was friendly and responsive. Bed was not comfortable. Iron was broken but was replaced promptly upon notification to the front desk. Extra toilet paper was placed in a strange place; it should always be in the bathroom within reach of the toilet.
- 5/5
Good location, nice and clean property, would stay again
- 5/5
Cielos is the restaurant was very good. Casita king was spacious. Location is in the middle of Tucson so no lights in the parking at night or security
- 5/5
Excellent place to stay. Restaurant was delicious, good wine options. It was quiet ans we enjoyed the pool innthe evening. The grounds are beautiful

I booked a room a month in advance, when we checked in we didn’t get the room we were expecting. The receptionist told us the pictures online are not going to match the rooms and admitted to false advertisement. We got checked into room 240 and it was disgusting. The bathtub was filthy and the shower had no work done to it, old and filthy. There was one wall unit with no remote and no ceiling fans, our room number was spray painted on, the only room that was like that and our door lock was loose. We then realized there was a bird stuck/living in the fireplace there was no cover/glass over the fireplace. We spent the first night there, the second night is when we realized there was black dust staining our shoes, clothes, towels assuming it was debris and ash from the fireplace. Morning after our second night, I went to talk to a receptionist about how filthy our room was. She was SO disrespectful, rude and also admitted to false advertisement about the room that I booked online and was expecting but didn’t get. Both of us raising our voices at each other in front of other guests and me finally asking when the next receptionist would be in so I could speak to him instead because a manager was not available until Monday. Monday morning we speak to a manager he took notes about our complaints and said “sorry for the trouble, and the bird? That was something”. We spent $693 on 3 nights and the manager was barely apologetic. There’s no way people like to stay here. ZERO recommend!

Very cute. Upscale southwest vibe.
- 5/5
Amazing staff, very responsive. Accidentally left my charger in the room after checking out and the manager (Scott) figured out a way to return it to me so I didn't have to go out of my way and come back. Great property, clean rooms, friendly staff, reasonable price. Will be back!

Always a pleasure! Lovely getaway with a wonderful restaurant, Cielo's.

No gym onsite. Local gym that coupon was good for was being cleaned during our stay.
- 5/5
Very friendly staff, beautifully kept gardens and quiet rooms. Loved Cielo too
- 5/5
The parking was close to my room and secure. The facility appeared well-maintained with good amenities for the cost. The room was comfortable and clean. The Wifi worked great!
- 5/5
My go to when visiting my daughter at U of A! Very close to campus and feels like you're at a resort even though you're in the city. Kindest staff and beautiful grounds. The rooms are older but it's part of the charm. Very clean. Love it!!
- 5/5
Very clean, friendly, incredible staff great food recommend anyone!!

- 4/5
Great place for someone who wants a Southwest experience.
- 5/5
Very clean and very southwest themed. Very comfortable stay.
- 5/5
This place was peaceful. The rooms are very spacious. Beds are comfortable and the towels are soft and fluffy. The pool is a little small and the room didn't have a microwave. The onsite restaurant food was great.
- 4/5
The place was nice the room was nice however it was warm the mini ac unit did not cool our room so we slept uncomfortably
- 4/5
Bartenders were amazing! Property was beautiful. The room was a bit outdated and the shower was tiny.
- 5/5
Given a free breakfast for anniversary, room was clean quiet and comfortable. Stayed in the room with the hot tub, perfect for two people and relaxing. Good staycation.
- 5/5
This hotel was quiet and peaceful and the staff was helpful and had a great demeanor.
- 5/5
Great as usual
- 5/5
Beautiful Sonoran property with large units and large beds. Pool and hot tub are a plus too. Would stay at this property again.
- 5/5
This property is such a gem and the price was reasonable. I would definitely stay here again.
- 5/5
I love this property. The rooms are large and comfortable, the design is desert modern. The layout is quirky and charming and based on the footprint of the historic lodge.
- 4/5
Very clean and many restaurants around.
- 5/5
Very nice, comfortable hotel, very spacious rooms and extremely comfortable bed, lots of room on the property to have a walk or some little privacy
- 5/5
Was a very good experience for my husband and I anniversary
- 4/5
Well kept grounds Wonderful restaurant “VIP benefits” consisted of a card offering free chips and salsa, and a free drink,” but the chips and salsa was crossed out. Not professional. Also the hours of the restaurant listed on the card were out of date, so when I went for my free drink, no chips, the restaurant was closed. Disappointed in Expedia and the hotel on that one
- 5/5
Loved it! Very nice place, very accessible. Restaurant was delicious
- 3/5
We had rented a casita for the weekend and when we arrived they said that they were upgrading us to a king room . We were tucked into a corner with no view or outdoor space . It has 1 small chair outside overlooking dirt and a big wall . I asked later about the accommodations being different than we had expected and I was told the rooms were the same . This wasn’t a casita by any means , just an ordinary room !
- 5/5
I LOVE staying here!!! Feels like home and is a true Tucson experience :)
- 4/5
It was quiet and peaceful!
- 5/5
Room was spacious and clean:) staff was very inviting. Great time! Will be back!
- 5/5
The accommodations were exceptional, and the restaurant provided a diverse and well-received menu. Our only area for improvement is the pool, which, while understandably impacted by high occupancy, could benefit from enhanced maintenance.
- 5/5
Very friendly front receptionist Lorien . She works days. She is great. Very helpful and very nice. Property is amazing. Rooms are big and clean. Landscape is amazing around room and pathways. I will definitely come back
- 5/5
This was such a lovely property. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was gorgeous. We will stay here every time we are in Tucson!
- 5/5
It’s so beautiful!!! I loved my experience so much! Nice staff. Extremely well organized and clean.
- 5/5
amazing hotel very cool very clean safe easy parking huge hotel room
- 5/5
The lodge was excellent. We had a very clean and comfortable room. The staff was friendly and fixed the small issue we had right away!
- 5/5
Great service!!!
- 5/5
I loved the charm and design of this property but unfortunately the types of people in this area make me feel unsafe. It’s a Tucson problem not necessarily this hotels problem, just the location
- 5/5
This property and the rooms are so beautiful and capture the southwestern aesthetic perfectly! Very comfortable beds, too.
- 5/5
Pool was nice, grounds were so pretty with many desert cactus.
- 5/5
Great little boutique lodging! Nice bathrooms, comfy bedding, nice grounds, good staff and a cute little bistro. All in the center of town.
- 4/5
Shower had hair and tile floor was sticky. Bar and restaurant closed one hour earlier than advertised
- 5/5
Loved our little staycation at the lodge on the desert!
- 1/5
Very old me dingy looking. The shower had hair when we got there. The bed was not comfy and overall I would not recommend this place. The room was big but overall did not feel clean. After we had to cancel our reservation after a day there we were told it was not a problem and a refund would be issue. Now that I’m trying to get that refund they are going back on what they said.
- 5/5
Great, historical hotel, really nice with a SW flair. The bar closed early because there was an issue in the restau=rant, which was odd, but highly recommend and really enjoyed our stay.
- 5/5
The bed was not very comfortable. To soft, it felt like we were sinking in. The lodge itself was very nice!
- 5/5
Excelente hubicacion y excelente para quedarse

We reserved a room that specifically had a bath with jets sort of like a hot tub and the tub did not work. The tub could not hold water and would automatically drain. The jets also did not funtion correctly. Minor damage and issues throughout the entire room i was very sad as this is the hotel we chose for our anniversary. The reviews looked stellar but our experience was not so.
- 5/5
Great
- 4/5
It’s nice but near nothing. We can tell the water is hard as the shower heads and sinks are terrible. Faucets leak.
- 5/5
Beautiful property! Great service
- 5/5
Love this property. We have stayed her multiple times. Great value, extremely well maintained in both the rooms and the entire property. Super clean. Restaurant has very tasty well prepared food.
- 5/5
Our overnight stay was not long enough. The bar and restaurant had excellent service, the menu and quality of food was amazing for both dinner and breakfast. The hotel grounds were very well maintained. Every employee we encountered was friendly. We will definitely be back to this resort.
- 3/5
I would have saaid all was great BUT and this was a big but. The last night of our stay we were awakend by someone powerwashing the outside of our building. We called the office to inquire about this and inform them we were trying to sleep. It coutinued for over an hour. We won't be back.
- 4/5
No ice machines at a hotel in the desert…come on!
- 5/5
Very spacious and beautiful room. Very relaxing atmosphere and great pool and spa. Great restaurant and bar on site.
- 5/5
Was an older place but was well kept. Quite and clean
- 5/5
The Lodge on the Desert was a great place to stay. Unique and had lots of offer. The staff were helpful and very friendly. Rooms were nice and clean. Would definitely stay here again. Only down side is we were only there one night. Would love to have had more time.
- 5/5
Very nice, quiet place. We would stay here again.
- 3/5
An old jewel. Lodge on the Desert was a beautiful place in its time. The bones are good. The place needs some love.
- 5/5
This was one of the best hotels we’ve ever stayed at, and we travel a lot. From the hotel it self the way it’s maintained, the staff, restaurant everything about this place is a 10 plus. We will stay here again
- 4/5
Good location and friendly staff. Rooms were a little outdated
- 5/5
My only feedback for improvement is to have a bell or something at the front desk, as I was waiting for several minutes to check in because nobody was at the front desk and I looked around as well as called out for staff.
- 5/5
Rooms are very cute! Nice property. Only thing was pool was very cold. I don’t think it’s heated. Otherwise I love the place. Will stay again!
