    We booked a deluxe sweet which came with a hot tub. Honestly, I really don’t understand the negative reviews this place has. The hotel is small but just right for a perfect couple getaway. It is a bit old but it did not bother us at all. Our last beach trip we stayed in a more updated hotel and wasn’t really impressed with it. We will definitely book again! It was a bit of a bummer there wasn’t breakfast but they have a breakfast buffet just nearby that was soooo good i’m still thinking about their homemade butter. The beach is so close and the mexican restaurant los palmas was such a hit and has amazing drinks.

    The room wasn’t ready for check-in so we had to pits around for a half hour, despite us being there after check-in time. Luckily there are numerous restaurants within walking distance to grab a quick bite.

    upon checking in our room wasn't ready after 4pm at checking in time stated. we were told at 530pm he didn't kno how long it would be and can't give a time. well 925pm is when I received my room the dude with the fake a$#afro apparently the owners son!! no I'm sorry or nothing just I will callu when it's ready that never happened I had to get another hotel just to get my kids out the car we drove hours over 5 hrs and not to have a room..they afro dude on 6-7-26 never called my phone amd said ur room is ready he says ur phone don't work. really bc at 739pm I called again in parking lot u told me it still wasn't ready this ruined our whole trip my autistic son was very upset the whole trip so I'm out hundreds of $$. I'm not the only one it was over 7 other families waiting this is horrible business I should have received a refund for my first night. becarful when staying here don't check in before 9pm u won't have a room and they even sent my pre check in and I called my property and Expedia bc they try to charge 639$ more to my card that I already paid for why didn't u tell us then our check in time was pushed back all night I hate this place ruined my whole vacation seriously so ppl don't have money to spend amd when we do I want the service I paid for horrible horrible business if u want good service try Seaview hotel instead walked right in no problems their at 730pm

    Room was clean and decent. View was amazing! However the room had a stale smell Like the refrigerator had been left open for days. The service from front desk staff was very subpar. Definitely did not try to meet guest needs whatsoever. Did not Respond to concerns in a timely manor.

    The location was perfect. The beds were comfy with plenty of pillows. The staff was amazing!!!! The coffee maker in our room nor the main one in lobby worked while we there. Parking was horrible and the overflow lot was a bit of walk with luggage. The rooms were clean but we did find a few random bugs, one alive, the rest dead. The TV was on the fritz, but my husband is a tech guy and got it working enough for us to see the Carolina Canes play. And the elevator was temperamental. You literally had to go up to get down.

    NOTHING! I didn’t even get a room…I took my business some where else…sorry not sorry Soon after I check in the clerks tells me that my room isn’t ready due to staff…and they would call me when my room was ready so I never even stayed there..I went to another hotel in Norfolk. THATS BED FOR BUSINESS.. plus the parking lot is too small…can barely squeeze in the parks…they need to do better.

    It's pretty basic, but for the price, for the location, for the size of the room, and for the view of the beach, It's very nice. Yes it's an old place, you'll notice if you look real close at the caulk around the tub, or the shower head, or see the touch up jobs on the ceiling, you get how old the place is. Although it is well kept, with everything working as it should. With only one elevator, it moves quickly, but at check out time you'll have to wait a bit for your turn. The water pressure is not great, but not terrible. Microwave, mini stove top, coffee maker, pots and pans are all there if you need them. Good sized refrigerator with large freezer on top in our suite. Only real complaint was the ice machine on our 6th floor wasn't working. Oh, and Bed sheets were very clean & fresh, mattresses comfortable. Our son said the mattress on the Murphy bed was comfortable also. This was our 2nd yr staying there for the North American Sand Soccer Championship, and was perfect location for son's age group. So overall, it was pleasant enough that we'll be back next year if our son plays again.

    The hotel was very nice but the other guest next door to me was very rude. They slammed doors and kicked the wall all night long. The next morning I immediately requested to be switched to another room and the receptionist moved me immediately.

    Construction on one side. Did not notice noise. Only entrance was very sharp incline drive. If you drive up and park, walkway is level. Walking sloped drive was challenging for me with cane. I would not dare try with wheelchair. Only one elevator with some wait time. My door was difficult to open and close and hardware actually became loose by time I left. Got discounted price thru Expedia and that made up for some of the inconveniences. With good price, I would stay here again.

    This was a huge room at a reasonable price. We got a suite that had a full kitchen and a balcony. The property had a nice and well maintained pool and it was within walking distance of absolutely everything we came to do. The place is definitely a little dated, but it was under construction for improvement. The parking wasn't the best but nothing we couldn't deal with. Overall it was a pleasant stay in a quaintly maintained hotel, overlooking the beach. We would completely come back!

Staff: Helpful, opened the overflow parking lot for us as there was no more parking in the lot right from the door. Hotel is old, not very well maintained. Lots of mold and mildew left in the shower and whirlpool tub. Floor is tile and feels wet and slipper when running the AC in the room. Bed is uncomfortable and our shower room's toilet paper holder was hanging on by a thread. Elevator shakes a lot. The balcony rail was loose on one side, we were on the 9th floor, if anyone where to stumble on it they will most likely fall and break their neck. The inside of the hotel is cramped and condensed in the hallways so you are shoulder to shoulder with other guests if you are coming and going at the same time. Parking is a pain, their overflow lot is closed (reasonable) BUT if the receptionist is busy, either they cant open it for you and you find other parking or you wait on them (depending on how busy their check - in is at the time).

    Before going to this hotel we heard that the oceanfront was on curfew. So to confirm that we tried calling the hotel before going only to not be able to reach anyone. When calling the number it says the number is unavailable. Upon arriving we asked the receptionist for a working number and was never giving a number. Staff could be more friendly, beach view (oceanfront) was perfect. The room was ok but, they need to turn the hot water temperature up. The TV’S need to be on the wall if beds are gonna the same height as the tv stands. There wasn’t any working ice machines or vending machines. Elevator wasn’t eye pleasing. When room was being book there wasn’t any information about renovation. And the last night of the stay at about 4:30am the fire alarm defaulted. Staff on sight didn’t seem to care that travelers were concerned and when taking stairs to evacuate there wasn’t any floor numbers on the exit doors for you to know where you are. Overall stay just for a getaway was ok.

    Pre season rental. Not really ready for the season. Under construction. Elevator even wrapped with cardboard to protect it and dirty. Could not get on our room. Door Handel need to be lifted up to open not down that’s why we could not get it. But inside it works any way. Balcony door won’t lock. Door toggle gets stuck and door won’t close. Have to play with it to get toggle to release. And a fire alarm accident. No hot water. Rooms were clean. Beautiful views. But zero amenities pre season rental For the money spent we could have gone to the big brands and had more.

    We had a suite it was very nice and roomy. I would recommend the suite to anyone. No breakfast of any kind offer. No lower access to the beach always had to go down a ramp. If you are not a young person could be tiring. The safes in the room cost extra money. Thought that should be included with the room.

    The only good thing was the view. The air conditioner worked. First the pool that was supposed to be heated was broken and cold as ice. We were assured before we booked that the pool was working fine. The smell of people smoking pot in the hotel was everywhere, in the elevators and coming from the other guests rooms. We couldn't even sit on the balcony and enjoy the view because of other guests on the second floor smoking pot and the smoke came directly up to our balcony. They also were supposed to have complimentary bikes as listed on their website, but we were informed that had stopped in 2021 due to covid. This is false advertising and I feel like I was ripped off. The hallways were not air conditioned and hot as hell.

    The room itself The housekeeper lied about cleaning before I left i took everything off both beds she made one bed and lied about the other bed saying I had clothes spread out on the bed that was a lie so she didn't make it saying she couldn't touch my belongings I had one bag with all my underwear and bras in it she went in my bag plus she went in my husband bag she also moved my medication she touched things I had in the bathroom because she clean the bath room and the head lady for housekeeper came in with her and said she's the best assistant housekeeper I have and they was trying to get off work well she lied about not touching our things my husband said she took something small that belongs to him but it can be replaced we felt violated

    Everything about this hotel needs upgraded. The sofa and chairs are very old. I've stayed in this hotel 3 or 4 times a year when a family owned the hotel. It got bought about 3 years ago. No upgrades were done in at least 10 years. The hotel closes in the winter. I was hoping it was for improvement, but no. I stay here because its familiar. I like the queen suit with the kitchen and murphy bed. But after staying this last time, I'm really disappointed. It took two days to get a working microwave. Some of the lights were out. I reported the issues and the girl at the desk couldn't have cared less. Come on Breakers, do better. For the same money there are better places to stay.

    After we missed the flight, we didn't cooperate with any measures. In the end, it was a system where only the type of robots made crazy noises, and in the end, it was impossible to cancel, refund, and rebok. When I called, your company said it couldn't do anything. In the end, I had to buy a new air ticket and travel.

    This is a great location as it is walkable to all shops and restaurants. Direct access to the beach and the views are amazing for direct view from your hotel room. I gave this place a 3 star because they don’t provide anything but good views. The whole pool area is mid! They don’t serve any food. FYI there is only one elevator and at times it takes forever!

    I have stayed at this location many times before and really didn’t have any issues. My state was nice checking in was easy but this last past day I tried calling multiple times to see if there’s any way to get an early check-in and the phone just rang when I finally was able to check in the person seem to have an attitude and was sitting down. Did not want to get up to actually check me in when I asked him questions about my stay. He gave me an attitude. As if I was making him do work that he did not want to do this made me feel uncomfortable and probably not want to come back to this location, which is sad because I’ve had like I said multiple other experiences that were great now it seems as if this hotel is going downhill Because of the people that they have working for them.

    I’m a smoker and although there was a balcony, I didn’t smoke on it because of the fee. I took many trips in the elevator to smoke out front the hotel. When I turned on the heater, the fire alarm came on. They instructed me to take the smoke detector down but I was afraid they would charge me for smoking and assume I tampered with it for that purpose. So I slept cold.

    The room was great but the hallways and property are rough. The most best up couch I’ve ever seen exists on the 5th floor. How hard is it to spend a few dollars to get new furniture? Disgusting. Definitely not coming back. Sad because it’s so simple. More things like markings on wall (simple paint fix) detract from overall appeal.

    With a king size bed and jacuzzii tub! What a surprise and a balcony overlooking the ocean! The AC worked great and we had a fridge that was so cold! I have no complaints at all. The staff was friendly and polite. We had a wonderful stay for 3 days! Don’t think twice about coming here. It is close to everything! We took advantage of that!

    Shopping options for beach souvenirs were good. View was exceptional. Did not interact with staff much, but they never asked was everything ok or about our stay there. Hallway lights were burned out at night making it unsafe and the entire hotel needs some updating. Would not be my choice in future

    The room was much cleaner and fresher than the lobby or halls appeared. The view was spectacular though. Couldn’t have asked for a better room with a view. We were right at the 17th street pier. The Staff was good and friendly. The only downside was that breakfast was not offered. Only coffee was available but the machine offered many brew options and grinder fresh beans for each cup.

    The balcony on the 7th floor was a fun place to watch the beach and boardwalk. And we were given a wonderful air show. Formations of fighters right over the roof. The kitchen we didn't use was the only actually dirty place, the shower was unimpressive. Pool was closed, couldn't find the beach access, had to leave the hotel from the parking lot driveway. It was a good deal and we had a wonderful couple of days

    Breakers is great for a quick getaway. Beachfront balconies. Great views. I cannot comment on the service. My wife and put the do not disturb sign up for our 4 night stay and that was it. All we needed were fresh towels which the room had plenty. Honestly we picked this place because it has rooms with HOT TUB’s, surrounded by mirrors, that has a beach view. Great for a romantic getaway. Dining options everywhere. Walkable. We had a wonderful time. Don’t expect a 5 star resort. This is an old outdated hotel. But most importantly it’s clean. Has great views and very Clean Hot tubs.

    The queen beds were nice and the bathroom was clean. The pool was convenient. The hotel was on the boardwalk with an oceanfront balcony. The soda and snack machines were on 2 different floors and I had to ask where they were two times to find them. The staff seemed bothered by me asking questions. The location was convenient.

    The location is PERFECT. The hotel was nice.... .the room was very nice. They did have an elevator issue 1 evening...... and had trouble opening the room door a few times but after several tries it worked. All in all i would recommend...... but little things would have a big impact. I Having a small breakfast would be nice.... they have an area for this that had nothing but coffee...... Some of the staff seemed not very friendly.

    The view is good, the room was just okay. There is no restaurant or bar nothing in the hotel! They do not give late checkouts so if you’re flying that could be an issue, the hallways are dirty and very hot! There’s no vending machines with water pop anything! Just one for snacks!

    We booked 2 rooms as adjoining rooms. Get there to check in and one room is on the 2nd floor, other room is on the 5th floor. They would not put our rooms together, even though it was booked and called to verify. Get to the room and we are greeted with this horrible smell, it looks like someone has puked all down the wall behind the couch, the stove and counter is covered in food crumbs, the microwave works but doesn’t get warm, the blinds in the kitchenette looked like they got into a fight with an angry cat and lost, the light above the bathroom mirror doesn’t work, the exhaust fan doesn’t work, the beds squeaked annoyingly every time you rolled over, the windows to the balcony are covered in hand prints on one side and butt check prints on the other side, there was mold all along the edge of the shower and dirt all along the edges of the wall in the bathroom. When I informed them about this, I was told “ok” and “it’ll be ok”. When I checked out, the lady working was very upset to hear this, so it was nice that someone cared, but we won’t be back. There’s tons of doors to walk through just to get to the extremely tiny hall for the elevator, which makes it difficult when you’re trying to walk in with all of your baggage. The only way to access the beach is to go out the front door and walk around the building. That wasn’t an issue for us, but did feel bad for the elderly couple and the wheelchair bound individual. House keeping was polite and helpful.

    To make a long story short, I was very disappointed and disturbed. Had a 4 day 3 night stay in a room with a kitchen, and killed around 10 roaches while others escaped. The only reason I stayed, the room had 3 queen beds and the roaches were only spotted in the kitchen. Upon leaving, I shook every Item and luggage making sure nothing came home with me, Also, when asked about an Iron for my room that had an iron board. I was told, they didn't have an extra one, I could wait for someone to bring it from their other hotel. ...smh

    only a half of a night, my daughter has asthma and she couldn’t tolerate the terrible smell of the hotel. We contemplated staying in our vehicle until sun rise. It was that bad. I got my refund and booked Comfort Suites which was a lot cleaner and nicer.

    The room we had reserved was really hyped up online. We were a little disappointed in how the room actually looked and how it showed a kitchenette and all we got was mini fridge and microwave. This was my first time back to VA beach since my childhood and I wasn’t impressed. We will be more careful looking next time. We did enjoy the view!

    The hotel is very much dated, but it's in a prime location just steps from the beach with plenty to see and do. The view of the beach from our room was amazing! The front desk worker did try to shake me down when I asked about paying for an additional parking pass. He said that I could tip security to ensure my car's safety. Um, no. Other than that my stay was great and would stay there again.

    Arrived a bit early, tried to check in the younger girl at the desk was absolutely against it. We did get our parking pass and she said we could use the pool or visit the ocean. We visited the ocean and by the time we came back a younger man was at the desk and was more than happy to check us in early. He was the nicest of all the people who worked the front desk. The others were flat out rude and you could tell they hated their job or dealing with people or both. The older guy with glasses would huff and puff when we went to get the free coffee offered in the closed restaurant part. He even told us if we wanted coffee our room had a coffee pot. That was truly uncalled for. We had the family suite which was suitable for our family of 6. Only issue was after we went to the grocery store ants invaded the kitchen. I had to throw so much food away but lesson learned store food elsewhere. There is lots of room for upgrades to the hotel especially for the nightly price we paid. The outdoor pool advertises that it’s heated but was like an ice bath. The location was ok. There is a decent sized hill you have to walk up and down to get to the beach or the sidewalk to visit shops, it was a huge inconvenience as I use a cane. There is only one elevator for 9 floors and a basement. The other guests we met were friendly and nice. Beds were comfortable and we NO housekeeping for our 5 nite stay. When we needed towels, trash bags, toilet paper we had to go to the front desk and get it.

    Over all the location was good and a nice view ocean front plus the front desk management was very polite and tired to help us since when we reserved a room we thought we were getting a suite with a kitchen and our room didn’t have a kitchen and the photos on Expedia was misleading when we made the reservation . Next time we will reserve directly from the hotel web site and reserve the penthouse suite and also the house keeping was extremely nice. Other then an older hotel everything was good other then our ac in the room wasn’t cooling well at all and we didn’t bother complaining since they were booked.

    Cut marks on toilet seat. Very bad stains in tub. Air conditioning didn’t work. We called about it and maintenance came and looked and said yes there was an issue and couldn’t do anything about it. Tried to get moved to another room, but nothing available. Called and had to request a shower curtain because we did not have one. And waited over an hour for it, but had to go to the front desk and ask again. And it’s suppose to be smoke free, but it was a constant smell of vapes, cigarettes and other. Stains on bedding. Front desk didn’t care at all about any of this when I told them at check out. We will not return this facility ever again.

    The hallways were uncomfortably hot, easily over 90 degrees, and there’s only one elevator, which means you’ll be waiting 10+ minutes just to get to your floor. Parking is another issue. They charge $10, but the lot was full, so I had to park elsewhere and walk back to the hotel. On the positive side, the place felt safe and I didn’t see any bugs, but that’s about where the positives end. This hotel either needs a full remodel or a significant price drop. Not worth the premium they’re charging in its current condition.

    Hotel rooms were nice. The elevator was slow and only one to service 9 floors. Staff was a mixed review of friendly and not so friendly depending who was at the desk. Hotel has potential, just needs a little work. Pool is small but gets the job done. Location was great for being at the boardwalk. Nice that there was a lower level parking to keep the car cool. Overall hallways and elevator was a little stuffy. But for the price it was a good place to stay.

    When I made my reservation thru Hotels.com they charged me for two rooms and it only supposed to be one room for one night. It took 2hrs to check in plus it took me a while to get thru to experian since I booked thru them. The front desk clerk was new so he didnt know much. I had to wait 30 plus minutes for someone to come in and fix the issue! Than when I checked out the next day the hotel tried to add additional charges I had to call my C.C. company and they reported as fraud because I didnt authorize the charge. FYI they don't take cash and they charge for parking. like really?!

    We rented the family suite with pull down bed. Couch and chairs in room were town and looked like they were picked up off the street in garbage day. The suite had a kitchen that was supposed to be stocked with dishes, utensils, etc. There was one fork, one spoon, beat up cooking utensils etc. The bathroom had missing tiles and just looked dumpy. I wish I had taken pictures but….it was just disappointing altogether.

    We were in town for a National wrestling tournament 2 coaches and 4 high school boys. The family double room was spacious and roomy for our crew. Everything was clean and staff was friendly. The hotel is a bit older and could use some renovation but nothing taking away from comfort and cleanliness. Perfect spot as it is on the beach and central of all the strip and boardwalk. Easy 5 minute drive to convention center and sports complex. Will definitely use Breakers again.

    I loved the fact that it had enough beds for my 2 kids not to share, and a kitchenette. The room smelled slightly musty but at least it didn’t smell like smoke. There were no forks in the room so I asked the front desk lady and she apologized but they had no forks left… okay… the hotel guests were fairly quiet, the road outside could be noisy but that’s not the hotels fault. The bed was okay but I wish their pillows were not so flat, I woke up with a neck crick. The blackout curtains didn’t totally close so a little sun came in, but the blinds in the living room/kitchen were ineffective for my kid on the Murphy bed. The elevator was slow, be prepared to wait. The outdoor furniture was not beach chairs as I thought and was instead pool loungers….Overall it was a good stay (1 night), and would stay again for a short trip, it was a good location, we loved the balcony and the view.

    The ceiling above the beds had water damage, and the ceiling in the bathroom was falling apart. There was a bedbug in one of the beds and a roach crawled up the backboard of the bed while I was laying down. The knob to turn the shower on was broken. We spent almost $500 for two nights and they only gave us an $80 discount. Very disappointed and unsatisfied.

    Check in was a breeze! Rooms are clean, and the AC is cold which is a huge plus for my family. The mini fridge is also very cold. Love the location, being so close to the peer is nice and you're right in the middle of everything. The staff has also been extremely pleasant.     Start with hotel was clean, there was a leftiver corona cap on the balcony and what looked like some bottle foil on the room floor. Sheets had a few blemishes, but you can tell they were washed. I saw people complain about balcony door, you just got to give the handle a little jiggle then it completely shuts just fine. The bed was the proper size, but not the most comfortable( not bad for a short stay) the jacuzzi did not have hot water right after it was done filling it was warm at best( but operated fine) and fit two decently. If the wife and I were a bit bigger we wouldnt have fit together. VB after 10pm with the weather having been nice is wild, literal shootout right outside the hotel ducked behind cars by their smoking area, because the staff was reluctant to let us back in while it was happening. Before 10pm it was great.

    I was there to celebrate my daughter‘s birthday. There was no breakfast options. The pool was closed, which we didn’t find out until we got there my chairs in my room or old and used to the point of where the seat was chipping we had to wait on a dryer to get fixed in order to get washcloths they didn’t offer us anything but a pizza that we had to go pick up for Grand opening they said a smokeless property, but the elevator smell just like smoke and the guy that was working at the front desk with smoking his vape at the front desk
