    The valets and the restaurant and restaurant staff was wonderful. The hotel needs a great deal of maintenance. It is well below the Hilton standard. The check in person was horrible. She did not want to be bothered, was rude & dismissive.

    The person checking us in was rude and made unnecessary comments. The tv was not working when we got to our room. The staff sent maintenance and it was fixed in minutes.The room was clean and had an amazing view. We watched the dolphins play from our balcony! An apology was made via AI, I guess,.for the rude behavior of the front desk.The valet parking guys were amazing and very helpful.

    Our stay was nice, but I left some clothes hanging in the room to dry after a big rainstorm. We were told we could stay until noon but at 11:00 the cleaning crew came in and told us we were not on the late check out list. In a hurry to get out of the room, I forgot to grab them and a few hours after checking out I called and explained exactly where they were left. Even though no one checked into the room after us, no one would go to the room to look for the items, and I was told I had to submit a lost and found form. Apparently, they were never found.

    Not the most modern property if you care about that. Also double bed rooms are full size beds not queens. If you have multiple guest stayin the same room the rooms are not that large. Perfect for two ppl. Any more isa little crowded.

    Be aware there were ants all over the bed when I arrived and the rude customer service rep advised she could send maintenance smh they arrived and placed a ant trap from Walmart she stated no other rooms were available I contacted hotels.com advised of the issue they contacted all of a sudden now there is a room available got to that room no hot water and they were aware moved to another room same issue no hot water the manager Katlin advised she would call be back never received a call poor service only wanted to refund a $30 parking fee will never stay there again!! They need to upgrade carpet coming up bathroom need upgrades

    So they sent a person to pick up the dirty underwear. There is no in room dining as said! I did call corporate…they said because we stayed the 2 nights instead of moving to another hotel….they did nothing! It’s our fault for staying! And it was memorial weekend! Ismael is who I spoke with from corporate! I said we stayed under the impression that your staff was to remedy the situation! He also said because we booked through Expedia…it’s partially their fault!! It was a horrible stay! They do not clean the rooms unless u OPT IN! Where as every other Hilton, is the normal…hang the door tag if you dont want your room cleaned! The hotel blamed the no in room dining on a new computer system!

    The rooms looked clean, but there was cereal under the sink. The water never got hot, and I hate taking warm showers! I also do not think you should have to pay for parking, especially when you are paying over $600 per night! I do appreciate getting a room at a good location for the Monster truck event. There should also be extra trash bags when you are staying longer than a day. The staff was nice except for the check in person who seemed like she had an attitude and that I was bothering her.

    The location was perfect, right on the beach and boardwalk, which made everything super convenient. My kids absolutely loved the indoor pool, and the on-site restaurant was amazing, even though it was a bit pricey. There were also plenty of shops nearby, so everything we needed was within walking distance. Overall, it made for a really nice and easy family weekend getaway. Staff checked me in and mistakenly gave me a key to an occupied room. When I entered, I walked in on guests who were already inside relaxing. Extremely uncomfortable and unacceptable situation. To make matters worse, on our final night, the hotel checked us out without notice and attempted to resell our room. I realized something was wrong when the TV and Wi-Fi suddenly disconnected, and shortly after, someone tried to enter our room using a key. I was traveling with my two toddlers, and instead of resolving the issue professionally, the manager acted as if they were doing me a favor by “allowing” us to stay claiming we were a no-show, even though we had already checked in and paid the previous day. This was especially frustrating considering the same manager had reassigned us to that room after the initial incident and even offered a “complimentary” night, which was bs since the stay had already been paid for. I stood there 45 mins in my pajamas for him to call other managers asking what to do. Additionally, beach access points were closed, forcing us to walk around the building to reach the beach, which was very inconvenient with small children. Overall, the experience was disorganized, stressful, and poorly handled from start to finish.

    I love Mahi resteraunt. So it was nice to stay in the same hotel. I prefer this side of the beach versus the higher up (17th on up). It is quieter. Nicole was an amazing hostess. She was so funny and very nice. Always making sure we had what we needed. Not having a microwave in my room. And a very tiny refrigerator, especially for the cost of the room.

    I liked that they had a parking garage to use across the street. I like that there was always someone at the front desk just Incase you needed something. I did not like the fact that you had to ask for everything. If you want your trash taken out or your towels exchanged. They never once cleaned our room while we were out. We were told if you want something done then you have to ask. Cleaning rooms should be automatic, especially if guests are there for a week. If you don’t want your room touched or disturbed, then you have a door sign to hang out. This was not our case. This was just the first place we have ever stayed that didn’t automatically check your room daily. For the amount of money charged, I shouldn’t have to ask.

    Cons: Bathroom is tiny. Door basically hits toilet, stumped my toe twice. Pool was cold. I was expecting heated. Although, that may have been my fault. I don’t know if it mentioned heated. No microwave in room but there is one in hallway. Pay to park. $35 a day to park in the parking lot, $15 a day to park across the street in parking garage. Would definitely stay again.

    Also, the water pressure was pretty low. Overall, my friends stayed in the Spark right nextdoor and had better water pressure and bigger beds so for the price, I'd stay at the Spark next time. The big thing it has that others dont is MAHIs rest/bar downstairs right on the boardwalk.

    The room was clean and it had a beautiful view of the beach but it was very small, we barely had room to open our suitcases. The pictures showed a soaking bathtub and a walk-in shower but it only had a shower. It was pricey for a basic room. There was no complimentary breakfast or even coffee except the one little cup you can make for yourself in your room! I’m a big morning coffee believer and it would have been nice to at least been able to go to the lobby at any time and get a nice cup of coffee. Every hotel I’ve ever stayed at had complimentary coffee and at least a piece of fruit. The parking lot is two blocks away so if it’s raining you’re going to get wet and the room is not big enough for your luggage much less your beach gear.

    The staff was rude at times when I asked why the room wasn’t being clean daily. They said you had to request it and then in order to get towels and things you have to lay them outside the door they don’t come and clean your room daily and they only have complementary coffee from 7 AM till like 10 AM and that’s it. That’s the only drink everything else you have to purchase and park across the street behind a gift shop.

    On the downside, the room itself fell short of expectations. It did not appear to be thoroughly cleaned, and there was noticeable paint peeling in the bathroom. An access panel near the toilet was left open, which was unsettling at first glance. The shower dispensers were empty - no body wash or shampoo - which shouldn’t happen at this level. Another challenge was the noise. There was a band playing on the boardwalk until around 11:00 p.m. each night. While this wasn’t the hotel’s fault, the sound carried significantly into the room and made it difficult to relax in the evenings. The elevator system was also frustrating. Having to use the room key to access floors is understandable for security, but the digital key feature never worked properly for elevator access, which became an ongoing inconvenience. That said, there were definitely positives. The oceanfront location is excellent, with beautiful views right from the room. The attached restaurant, Mahi's Seafood and Sushi Salads, was outstanding and easily one of the highlights of the stay. The hotel staff were also consistently friendly, helpful, and made check-in very easy. Overall, while the location and staff were great, the condition of the room and a few operational issues made the stay feel underwhelming for the price paid.

    I have NO idea how this hotel got such great reviews. I just got back from my trip there and I relied heavily on the reviews to book my stay here. I dont ever write reviews, but had to write this one. Our room was okay, but not the cleanest. There was balled up hair on the floor, and our room had some things that were broken. Nothing that halted our stay of going to the beach, but when you pay for something, you expect for there to be certain things you get. Cleanliness should be top priority. The pool was disgusting. Don't let pictures fool you. It looked like it is never cleaned, as there was AGAIN more random balls of hair on the ground around the pool. Gross. There was even a cockroach walking around at the indoor pool. Guests were having to run past it in hopes of it not jumping on them. Parking wasnt the greatest. There is no elevator so if you have to park on the 3rd or 4th floor, you have to walk up a flight of stairs to get there. We did enjoy the beach but sadly, will not be back to this hotel. I hated using our hard earned money to pay for a hotel that does not seem to get cleaned or maintained. Main door to the beach was also broken, so it stayed open allowing anyone to walk in, whether they have reservations there or not. Listen when I say to book somewhere else. We have stayed enough in VA Beach for me to know there are other hotels at this same price that actually care about what their hotel looks like. The cookies you get checking in aren't worth staying here.

    The bed had Fritos on the corner upon arrival. Side of the air unit and behind curtains had cobwebs. On the whole the staff was wonderful but one receptionist was on her phone both time I had to come down and ask for assistance, and she had a poor disposition. The location is great and view is wonderful, just wish they were a bit bigger .

    I gave this a 3 because of the house keeping. Each day we had to ask the front desk for towels after asking the housekeepers to provide fresh towels. Upon check out, the receptionist continued her conversation with her co-worker. I had to ask for the receipt and she never asked me if I enjoyed my stay or for my return business. I usually stay at Hilton hotels because I have never encountered this before.

    My husband and I booked a room with a king sized bed oceanfront for our wedding weekend. On check in we were told due to maintenance we needed to be downgraded to a double bed room. I was upset, but didn’t want to cause problems so we accepted. They claimed they would contact us the next day to move us to the room we booked. We waited all day and never received a call and no one said anything when we double checked at front desk that night. When we checked out the next day front desk insisted they called multiple times to move us to a new room (I never received a call neither did my husband) and then when I explained I never received a call and had a very hard time believing they did call us they claimed they just found out they had a wrong number on file. The room itself had a nice view but the bed was pretty hard and the shower water came out brown when we turned it on in addition the water pressure was incredibly weak. I also asked the front desk about compensation for the difference in price for the booking and they said it was only $10 difference a night and I’d need to contact the booking agency myself. I’m not normally the type to leave a bad review but this experience was definitely rough. Will not be booking with this hotel again.

    Had an issue with an unusual smell from a room on the top (8th floor). Evidently, it was related to the big storm a week earlier (8+ inches of rain). Once it was brought to the front desk staff’s attention they immediately agreed to move me. It was a minor inconvenience, but I appreciate them moving me as soon as I brought it to their attention. The front desk clerk told me that they had been having some issues as a result of the storm. Nice staff, and great location!

    I texted room service for batteries and cleaning product but was told would need to wait until morning so went the night with no TV. The next day received a text from a woman who was very nice and switched our room to 218 and said we wouldnt have any issues in that room... well the TV remote worked but that night was greeted by several golf ball size roaches out on the balcony! A red roach bit my partner, we couldnt even enjoy going outside to view the ocean in fear of the roaches! Also the room had tiny bugs in the corners of the ceiling and the bed frames were loaded with dirt and hair! Everything felt dirty and we still had to purchase wipes to clean while on vacation. The parking garage is filthy, the ground is black with more roaches and trash, walking from the parking garage accross the street to the room is a filthy experience! Also i was worried about my car sitting there over night. Finally, we wanted to get in the pool but it was freezing cold, cloudy, and the top had a layer of oil and particles like it isnt cleaned regularly. I would not recommend this hotel at this time. We were disappointed and was expecting much better from a hilton.

    This entire hotel from the time you walk in property is exquisite. We stayed in the 5th floor and our house keeper and his wife take such pride in their floor and guests.     I booked this property for 8/9 in April and got a good rate. When we arrived the gentleman was not very pleasant. They put us in room 205, I asked for a room higher up to see the ocean better cause I booked ocean view. Mind you, my niece booked a month ago and got put on the 7th floor ocean view. They said no they were all taken and then 1/2 hour later said we could move to 305 but I didn’t because we were already settled I. explained how far back I had booked this and I should be able to get a better room. Our room was on top of a restaurant with loud music playing until 11:15pm. The shower had hair on the wall from a previous person staying there. I will never stay in a Doubletree again.

    I loved the room and the view. The location to beach and boardwalk dining was perfect. I wish the rooms were serviced daily (I.e., make the bed, empty trash and replace towels).     When I checked in and went to my room there was urine on the lower wall of the bathroom and the bed comforter looked like it was filled with socks. Disgusting. I left horrified and called Expedia wanting a refund to cancel the stay which was over a thousand for two nights. Everything at this property is filthy, the elevators the trash cans the walls are coated in grime. I am beside myself that this is a Hilton property. After I was denied by Expedia and the property any refund whatsoever I was told I’d be paying whether I stay or not I did stay. I was placed in a different room with a better comforter but everything still has a musty smell. The band is LOUD and rattles through the rooms all afternoon and night. The staff was nice and moved me but I cannot recommend this property. It needs to be mopped, the walls WIPED down and the trash emptied. I left at sunrise Sunday morning and I feel as though I was bamboozled (scammed) from the photos of the property to what was offered. Do not stay here.

    I was a Hilton Rewards member because I booked through a third party I was told I could not redeem my points also I stayed 5 days and 4 nights I wasn't able to acquire any points for that stay being a Rewards member was the reason that I chose that hotel actually had another hotel that I booked that was cheaper and I had stated this hotel more than once was a great Hotel but I canceled that to stay at the Hilton and then accomplished anything as far as points when I did speak with the representatives there about it I was just told that's too bad no one even attempt to fix the issue or offering any other resolution but overall the room was great it was clean Services was great the hallways and the elevator was extremely hot it was hotter in those places than it was outside valet parking had the lot a mess you could not get in to check in I'm so parking garage good little distance from the hotel to walk also no lights whatsoever at night in there but overall everything was okay

    Then I booked this hotel for my family and I is so we could have beach access directly from the hotel. We got there we were not informed of the air conditioning in the building was broke. So the moment you stepped out in the hallway, you started sweating. I asked the front desk, lady you know why we had to walk out front in order to go to the beach because the door was broken and she replied to me that we could just walk through the five star restaurant. Which to me is just ridiculous. Why would I wanna walk my family in our bathing suits through a restaurant to get to the beach. The alternate was to walk around the building because like I said, the access door was broken. I will definitely not be coming back to this hotel ever again.

    The stay was peaceful. But you can’t used the back door after 10pm even with room key. The shower water was cool not hot at all..it’s hot in the hallway.

    I liked that this property was close to the beach and was oceanfront. It was very easy to get right to the beach which was nice for a quick weekend getaway. It was kinda a drag that some motorcycle club was having a convention or something at the hotel the night we were there. It set an uneasy feeling around the property, but I understand it couldn’t have been avoided. It was really packed and busy everywhere in the common areas. The room was nice, however the amenities in the bathroom were a bit lacking. The wall-mounted shampoos and stuff in the shower were broken off the wall and propped up on ledges. The toilet flushed really slow and we clogged it once. The bathroom just seemed really stark and outdated. The halls on our floor (7th) were extremely hot— like no A/C whatsoever. But our room was very cool and comfy. We enjoyed the perfect view of the ocean!

    Through the Hotels.com app, I notified the hotel in advance that I would be checking in on Friday, not Thursday. On the day of travel (Friday), I even called the hotel to confirm a late check-in due to my flight arriving around midnight. That’s when I was informed that my entire reservation had been canceled due to a no-show, and the hotel had no remaining rooms. Despite my clear communication, I was left stranded in a fully booked city during a major event. I had to spend hours scrambling to find a replacement hotel — eventually booking one 35 minutes away in an unsafe location, which ruined the entire experience. I later moved to a hotel closer to the venue, but it was still 20 blocks away from my original hotel, which had been just one block from the venue. Hotels.com declined to assist in any way. This was one of the worst travel experiences I’ve ever had, and it could have been completely avoided if the hotel had honored the reservation I paid for and communicated about. I am extremely disappointed in both the hotel and Hotels.com for their failure to uphold a confirmed booking with proper notice.

    The exit to the beach from the hotel needs to be repaired, its odd walking through the restaurant or out the front to access the beach. Cleaning the bathrooms is tricky, but special care should be given to the corners and nooks & tight spots where hair or cleaning agents buildup.

    It’s really close to everything! Parking is across the street for $5.00 daily. The employees were really sweet and there’s a great restaurant connected if you don’t want to leave the premises.

    The security features at the hotel were very much appreciated. You had to use your room keycard to use the elevator and to access the parking garage. The hotel staff was friendly and knowledgeable.

    Valet parked car next to front of Hilton door had window shattered. The front desk can literally see my car and still the window got cracked by a criminal. The hotel staff told me to screw off. they made no effort to take responsibility. The police arrived after 3 hours and gave me a report number. There were three cameras on my vehicle but the usual thing for them is to not take responsibility.

    We got locked out of our room for 30 minutes on day one and Mack didn’t hesitate to get maintenance on the issues. Our room was beautifully cleaned every day and if we needed anything from housekeeping they were always responsive. Thank you Mack and Vomi!

    Our room was disgusting! It was not clean and had gross urine stains in the bathroom which I had to clean myself with Lysol wipes I brought from home. The wallpaper was peeling off, torn carpet and there was dust and fingerprints everywhere. I was extremely disappointed considering I have been to other DoubleTree hotels and never had an encounter like this one.
