The location is great and the staff was fantastic. The pool was great and we loved the poolside bar!! My issues are: no coffee maker in room? We had the bag for the ice bucket but no ice bucket. No clock in room? Several screws holding items to wall in bathroom were pulled out.

It was very clean and loved the view . But when I got there check in was very difficult. She couldn’t find my reservation even I gave my name and reservation confirmation number also showed the email . After 15 min late she said she spelled my name wrong ? My name is only 3 letters ? Then she charged me twice saying one didn’t go through ? But showed her my credit card on my phone

For traveling to this hotel note that you have to pay for parking and you do not get a microwave in your room you have a shared microwave that sits out in the hallway. In the breakfast was very lousy only offering cereal, bagel, yogurt and it boiled egg. Cereal was soggy or was moist before eating it and the milk did not have a good taste to it. I've been to other motels where at least you do get a full breakfast light waffles eggs and sausage and you do have a microwave and other places I've stayed at and you didn't get charged for parking and other motels I stayed at as well. Not a whole lot to have to offer

The view and the staff are what keep me coming back. In October I had a room with 2 queens and the mattress was great, this time I had a king and it was so hard and miserable. The front desk said all the mattresses are the same & they are new. It was disappointing. The hotel is older & renovated, but it still doesn’t feel like a Hilton. Looks like they cut every corner possible, but the staff is great & the oceanfront balcony’s are nice. Could definitely use some better furniture for the balcony. I don’t plan on staying there again, but it’s okay in a pinch.

It was dog friendly but they asked to keep your dog with you at all times for their safety and then you couldn’t access the beach with them till 6-10 pm So we had to leave unsupervised in the room so we could get an hour on the beach the whole reason we went! But our dog was there when we returned phew!!!? The next morning we did bring him to the beach early not sure the beach policy but the sand had cooled down enough for him and we got some time in the evening with him on the beach as well! It was under construction The noise was constant Pool closed only morning we had to use it No towels No coffee pot Parking was difficult Patio door was locked sent someone to fix it but they just unlocked it and then we couldn’t lock it at night slept with the balcony door unlocked Tv didn’t work Had I known and got a better rate I’d have been fine but they were not very accommodating the rate was better than others but I only booked because it was dog friendly I’m sure it’ll be better once the Contruction is complete but I think it should have been disclosed and rates dropped

The hotel appears clean but dated, with visible wear such as rusted elevators and patchwork repairs on walls and floors. While the room size was adequate and the shower and toiletries were above average, several issues impacted the stay. Upon arrival, the room was not fully prepared, the TV remote was missing and the replacement did not work, and the bathroom sink was clogged. The bed was particularly uncomfortable, with a thin mattress and poor pillows, leading to soreness after sleeping. Breakfast options were minimal, consisting mainly of bagels, muffins, and hard-boiled eggs. Overall: This hotel may suit younger travelers focused on price and beach access, but it is not recommended for families or older adults due to comfort and maintenance concerns.

Room was decent but could have been better. Ocean view isn’t so great when the windows haven’t been cleaned in a while. Dirt in cracks and a few questionable spots on the ceiling. There were randomly propped open doors to the stairwell and the utility room which struck me as odd and a bit sketchy as a single woman traveler. Staff seemed stressed and overworked which didn’t allow them to be very attentive. Overall an ok experience. Good location, peaceful, quiet, sheets and towels seemed clean and were well stocked

Upon check-in, I was given a room on the bottom (ground level) floor. Once I immediately entered the room I noticed a damp mildew type of smell. That’s when I first learned from the front desk staff that there was a big storm the previous weekend and as I later learned there were several places that were still dealing with the after mass. I was very disappointed that the front desk clerk said there were no other rooms to move me to. They did agree to spray some air freshener in the room, however I told her that would probably not work due to my sensitive allergies. The smell appeared to be somewhat better when the AC unit was off.. so I just left it off. Great location on the boardwalk though.

Staff not very accommodating, pretty rude honestly, hotel in disrepair, couldn’t have our own drinks at the pool because there is a bar owned by a different owner and I guess that’s their agreement. The pool was only available 1 day and being worked on the rest, I understand maintenance is necessary but this was prime season and re-tiling should have been completed prior. The only plus was that it was on the beach, near where we needed to be. Parking isn’t on site and you only get one car, had to pay for the other despite booking a room for 5 people. Honestly my worst stay for this annual VA Beach event. If there are no other choices, I’d do it again for proximity but I’ll be looking elsewhere for sure. We were in a lobby full of dissatisfied customers with various complaints, we’re not hard to please and this is the first negative review I’ve written.

RUDE STAFF, OVERPRICED. Dirty common areas. Chose this hotel in part because parking was included, as listed on Expedia site. The hotel charged my wife for parking at check in. I called them and asked them to reverse the charge. The front desk person not only refused, but cut me off, yelled at me to take it up with Expedia and then hung up. The place is a rip-off. We love the beach. But this hotel was recently taken over by Sparks by Hilton and under new ownership. The employees or owners park their personal vehicles in the very small drop off driveway in front of the hotel causing back ups during check in . I booked a king size bed and was told it was overbooked . I was put in a room with 2 queens (not a huge deal) , but no compensation. The first night we had found a extremely large brown cockroach (the size of 2 quarters)on the bathroom floor. Went to the front desk and was told maintenance and housekeeping would be up to my room to clean and that didn't happen. The newly renovated bathroom had paint splatter on the toilet and the shower leaked all over the floor. The pool area is unkept and not secure. Anyone walking the boardwalk could walk into the pool area and utilize at their leisure. We personally watched a homeless guy walk in the pool area and jump in with all his clothes on. The bartender had to ask him to leave. The staff at the resort were very friendly. But this place needs to be shut down for renovations.

I do wanna know that the staff was extremely nice kind impatient with some not so nice customers, the parking is bad at all. It’s $10 and across the street in a garage, which obviously isn’t as ideal as on site, but nothing crazy. The hotel is in a great location and an easy walk to the beach has a pool area that kind of turns into a club at night, which was cool but maybe not the best for some families, they have a bar by the pool and an ice cream shop. All in all I think when the renovations are done, it’s going to be a pretty solid nice place to go back to just wasn’t a fan that I didn’t know it was undergoing these things or that certain stuff was left out in the halls.

Assigned spots taken by anyone who's not a guest and forget it if there's an event happening so make sure you don't move car much once parked

I understand they are under construction and still attempting to run a business but it was supply and very unprofessional. Construction going down the hallway leading to my room walking down the hallway on the first floor. My room had no microwave, no trash can, nor a blow dryer. But it's a oven view hotel, so why would you not a have blow dryer.

The property is in a great location on the boardwalk and steps to the beach. The issue is the particular room we stayed in. The doors do not reach the floors so you can hear the people in the room next door clearly . You can hear anyone in the hallways, the doors opening and closing were very very loud. The door when you enter the room is about a half inch too short. The door which goes into the other people’s room which would be open if you had adjoining rooms with family is about 3/4 too short and I had to put a towel down so I couldn’t hear the people so loudly- so it was hard to sleep. I did not feel safe with the door to the outside, I felt like anyone could come right in if they tried hard enough.

Hotel Quality Inn (Hotel Boardwalk 705) When I say the hotel was under construction-nobody should have been staying in the building. I watched the employees slap up the swim rules and guidelines while at the pool. Pretty sure that’s a violation. I wonder how long they were down… The outside pool bathroom sink was barely hanging on to the wall. They could severely hurt someone especially a child!! Our a/c was broken. The hotel elevators looked like a bear attacked the inside of the elevator and nobody picked up after it. They smelt like someone puked inside of there too. There was open wires and leftover debris from the construction zone everywhere. Our room had old food or other substance on the walls. The items inside the room still had construction stickers, the tv had plastic film that never been removed. The side tables had old liquid rings-like old beer or coffee stains. One of the beds was poorly placed. I could barely walk around to get to the balcony! Half the time our key-cards didn’t work. There were gaps/holes through out the railings in the stairwell that’s probably another violation. The list goes on. Find another hotel.

Great location! Hotel is under construction, which was not disclosed when booking. Upon arrival, the electronics in the room weren’t even hooked up or usable. I had just driven 11 hours and it was after midnight. The front desk clerk was able to get one of the construction workers to help. But he did not speak or understand English, so we had to communicate via an app on his phone - which complicated and prolonged a resolution until after 3am. Overall, the room was clean and amenities were all new. However, there is some construction noise and details I wish I knew prior to booking. It appears renovations are close to completion, so hopefully not an issue for future travelers.

The hotels under renovation to be changed to a Hilton Spark they had no breakfast they had to come in our room and physically take out our AC in it and put a new one in at 1 AM and then they triple charge us on our credit card. Also, I left a pair of work boots there and to call them the day that we stayed and the day after I was unable to get anybody on the phone at all. Once I was able to get them on the phone two days later, they said that no one had seen my work boots from our room.

When I arrived I came into a full on construction zone. Everything you can think of that you need to repair a home all over the front lobby like the place just opens that day for the summer. I informed the front desk I was early and around the area. I asked if they could call me when the room was as ready they said no. The elevators were scary and one reeked of vomit. Our room had NO AC and when we told the staff they pretended to not understand and made no attempt fix or give us another room. The second time we complained we requested they fix the AC but we were given a fan. The last and final time we asked to have AC fixed or new room it was completely disregarded. We had no room service not even the basics trash removal and towels. The cleaner refused to give us towels when they were in the halls working from cleaning cart. We asked for towels one day 4 times and we got 1 pool towel. That was the only towels we got the whole stay besides the 1 hand towel, and 2 shower towels that we began with. The pool can be used by the general public, big crowds lots of adult activities with bar and DJ on site. Checkout I reminded them how miserable and uneasy sleep was because of the lack of AC and having to keep the door open to get some of the hall way cool air. I was laughed given no type of attempt to make it right. There was no customer service at all. Make sure you don’t need to have the modern or basic conveniences that you would expect for the price paying here.

Parking was a nightmare, horrible customer service, room was not ready at check in—bed un made room not cleaned. Had to wait after check in time to actual get into the room. Hotel is under construction, tools and supplies everywhere, very unsafe and loud. Our back door patio door on the first floor did not lock—it was rusted so badly. At check out we were given a late check out by the manager, Cash, and then were harassed by the girl, Anna, at the front desk. She came to our room and said she was calling the police since we didn't leave in time. My two daughters were crying and scared and worried we were trouble—this was unacceptable! This was a horrible experience. They need to close, fix the hotel, rehire new staff that understand customer service and then re-open. Also they advertised a pool with the hotel—the pool was open to the public, super crowed and had a bunch of intoxicated people —we couldn’t even use the pool and the water was filthy.

We spent 500 on two nights to watch a festival on the balcony and they blared awful house music at the pool for the majority of the two days. The elevator's are half in construction and they were gross and terrifying. We were lucky to at least get one of the renovated rooms. Despite it not being the room we requested 3 times it was alright. Don’t go there if you think your going to be able to see any live music cause the pool music was so loud it drowned out all the stages and we could hear it blaring in the room.

The check in person refused to give me a pass until her coworker said it was ok. I'm here for a concert from out of town I would have just had to drive around for an hour I guess. I had called to confirm the day before and when we were checking in the other representative said the guest SHE was checking in could come back at 230 to check in my rep said 4. It's just crazy how you get different answers with different reps.

They should have issued me a hardhat, safety glasses, steel toed boots, and a hazmat suit the minute I entered this place! Once I got to my room, it was OK. Came up to my room at one point and my door was left open, and the whole floor was flooded. And no one was around. So I used the towels to mop up what water I could off the floor and went down to the front desk and made them aware. They said oh yeah we have somebody working on it. But no one was around and my door had been left open with all my stuff. I asked for some fresh towels and they told me they would get me one in the morning, which I never saw. That evening I asked again and it was a big runaround and finally I got one extra towel. There’s also a cooler of bottle of water in the foyer and I asked if they were complementary and they said no and tried to charge me three dollars for one so I had to put it back. I manage somehow to stay four nights. On Sunday night there was so much beating and banging and grinding and jackhammer all through the night up until morning. I thought the whole building was gonna come down !

The unexpected fees and the construction. The hotel is going under renovations on each floor. When i was walking to our room there was drywall, paint, cement, all of the walls and floors. Our room reeked like someone had just used the bathroom. You practically had to slam the door open and clothes. The balcony had a chair that had nails looking through and poked my back. The tv wasn’t working I called the front desk and said they were sending someone. No one ever showed up. They didn’t have breakfast. This hotel should have at least one floor ready for customers to use where there’s no construction going on or at least do construction one floor at a time. Our room had work done but you can tell it was just a rush. The only thing that made this hotel reasonable was the fact that parking was right there and we were right on the beach. Book this hotel at your own risk i would say if you’re only staying for a night that’s fine but couple days you’ll be uncomfortable the entire time.

Hotel is undergoing construction. This was not made clear when booking. They should be renovating sections of the hotel at a time but seems they are renovating the entire hotel at once so there are workers all over the hotel on every level and a mess and paint smell throughout. We were booked in a room that was clearly still undergoing renovation because painting was not complete, towel rack was falling off the wall, the faucet was loose and there was no TV in the room. Overall very disappointed.

If I could I would give this zero stars. This was by far the WORST place to stay. There was no breakfast as advertised on the hotel's website. Worker's came into the room and painted the room while we were staying there without warning. The room smelled so strong of paint fumes it made me and my son sick. We had to leave for several hours after already being out in the sun all day for an event that we were in town for. We had to pay more for parking than what was stated ($40 for one night). The amount of continued construction is disruptive. This was not worth the money we paid to stay for 2 nights. Really wish we could get our money back.

This hotel should NOT be open for business. The contractors started working at 6am-5pm Friday & Saturday. This was ridiculous. Horrible conditions, horrible price and horrible experience from booking to cancellation. The hotel is actively going through renovations, stacks of tile along the hall and ventilation fans lying about, that looks like some DIY projects gone wrong. Looked dirty and smelled of overwhelmingly like drug (MJ) activity. We had to leave and couldn't stay as there were holes in the ceiling of the room exposing pipes and different color paint smudges where the previous colors were covered. We were told we would get a full refund but they couldn't process it at the time, due hotel.com processing the reservation... To which, Hotels.com said the opposite. Called and asked prior to arrival if we were still coming (sounding like they wanted to give our room away). We called about parking prior to arrival and they said they had a parking garage across the street. Once we paid for nightly parking and walked to the hotel and they said we could've got a discount on parking there, but we had already paid.

Half the building is under construction and everything is covered in spackle. The building is unable to heat water to any floor properly and it will take you 45 minutes while running the sink and shower to get warm water. The staff is disrespectful, and very unprofessional. You will have to pay for additional parking that is not attached to the hotel but rather diagonally across the street from the property. However due to their recent construction half of that parking is actually occupied with construction vehicles. The rooms have very bad ventilation for the bathrooms so they will steam the room. Never once for almost a week did we ONCE have any sort of room service offered even upon request. The breakfast bar is very basic when it was offered at all for one day. There are no cameras on the floors or elevators . Overall I would NEVER recommend this hotel to anyone you have any care for! I would recommend taking your business down the street to the far more respectful and accommodating hotels and motels in the area if you would like to focus on the location rather than your hotel for your stay!
