Reviews
The hotel is praised for its cleanliness, comfortable rooms, and convenient location near the metro. The staff is generally described as friendly and helpful. However, there are some complaints about the front desk staff being inexperienced or unhelpful, and a few guests had issues with parking and overcharging. Some guests also mention noise from the metro or vagrants outside the hotel.

Worked great for the three of us to see DC. The sofa pullout wasn’t very comfortable even for a 10 year old but everything else was good. Access to the metro was only a 3 minute walk which was exceptional!

Clean room and breakfast

The toilet flush in my room was not working properly and their engineer looked at it and decided it was working fine leaving it to us to figure out how to get it work - which is unacceptable for a so called “3 star” hotel. The room was unmaintained and furniture showed wear. The location of the hotel itself is not great. There’s a train station right next to the hotel and there is no noise insulation so you can hear the trains from the room. The food at the bistro is average at best and highly overpriced. They didn’t have basic amenities like a dental kit. Would not recommend.
- 5/5
I stayed here for just one night (sat-sun). The room was clean, all staff I interacted with were friendly and helpful. This hotel's location was great with many restaurants/stores in a walkable distance. The train was literally 30 feet away from the hotel's entrance so we caught the train for most our travel and even when we ubered it was 10 minutes or less. Over a good stay for this one night I would definitely come back.

- 5/5
Nice place, good vibes, friendly and helpful staff.
- 4/5
Perfect location to Union Market and metro red line. The room was clean and very quiet being in the city. Very odd though that all mirrors were in the bathroom. One cannot not get makeup ready, if the bathroom was occupied. Check in staff said we got free breakfast as a random pick. She never entered the info in the computer. We got tired of telling other staff about said breakfast. Overall staff were friendly and helpful. Except a very unhappy bistro cashier the whole time we were there.
- 3/5
Easy access for places to grab a quick bite. Valet parking was sometimes late and sometimes was no where to be found when coming back o the hotel. Also food was overpriced.
- 0.5/5
Close to Metro station and shops They did’t show up to clean my room and make the beds—although it was included in the stay. They didn’t pay back my $200 room deposit—I’m still trying to get my money back!!! Terrible, terrible after stay service.

The shower didn’t close fully allowing for water to spray onto the floor. Upon arrival we had to navigate pass several unhoused men and women who were smoking marijuana and drinking.
- 5/5
The staff very polite and great service. Clean room.
- 5/5
The hotel was very quiet and clean. Every member of staff that we encountered were super courteous. If I could change anything about it I would have liked later hours for the pool. After going out to explore areas in and around the city there was little time to enjoy the pool due to it closing at 8pm. However, I knew this when booking and I'm so happy that we chose this hotel.
- 5/5
Great place, great location, easy access to several places nearby!!
- 5/5
It was the best shower I’ve ever had in a hotel
- 3/5
I thought breakfast was included.

Location is right next to subway.
- 5/5
Excelente ubicación y cuartos cómodos y limpios.
- 2/5
Next morning, breakfast was awful.
- 3/5
The light in the bathroom is terrible. The cabinet door in front of frig is half off. There were no carts available to help us with all our luggage. No staff offered to get us one. Just said there is none.
- 5/5
My experience was very pleasant; the room and bathroom were clean, and the space was cozy. The breakfast was spectacular. It is a very central location, close to everything.
- 4/5
It was fine. I was only there for one night. I like the fact that check-out is at 12 pm. That gave us time to relax a little and enjoy breakfast without having to feel so rushed.
- 5/5
My stay was wonderful . The room was very spacious and clean . The staff were very helpful. I definitely would stay again. Thank you!
- 5/5
Very nice and friendly staff. Good security setup. The room was very functional, comfortable and clean. The gym is a nice option. I appreciated that everyone I talked to was very nice and helpful.

- 5/5
Nice hotel. Convenient location.
- 5/5
Nice stay. Only issue was parking, or lack thereof. The best option is to pay for the Valet service, which was excellent. Unfortunately that can get expensive however. Otherwise great location and great stay.
- 5/5
The room was clean, cozy and tight size.

Clean Rooms
- 3/5
While the staff we interacted with were kind. The room was run-down, and the bathroom was not clean
- 4/5
I stayed here for a work trip. The hotel was nice and very convenient to the red line. I wish the breakfast options were better and not quite so ridiculously expensive. But overall, a good place to be if you have to work in this part of DC.
- 3/5
There was electrical trash on the floor upon entry, and the AC didn’t work, even after the front desk said they would fix it!
- 5/5
The room was exactly the same like the pictures. Place was clean and we had a good view. Location was ideal.
- 4/5
Indoor pool was great but cold. We generally seek places with continental breakfast included but none were available this trip. We also appreciate coffee in the lobby in the morning.

Parking was very expensive . The hotel was so noisy . People talking in hallway in the middle of nights.
- 5/5
Clean room and easy access to metro.
- 5/5
The staff was so kind, personable, and knowledgeable. I got to the site early & everyone helped to make sure I was comfortable while I waited. I like that they have a place to drop bags so I could do what I needed while I waited for my room. I was able to check in about 30 mins before 4pm and I was so grateful to get settled a little bit early. The room was very clean and I felt like I had everything I needed for my stay. The experience was so good, I signed up for a loyalty account.
- 3/5
Everything was fine. I would have given a higher rating not for the fact that the rate quoted on my reservation via Expedia was not consistent with the hotel rating. Simply put, I was overcharged by the hotel. This was determined when I compared the amount that the hotel deducted from my bank account. When I explained to the front desk staff member, he was very nice and did indeed determine that my account was overcharged. The overcharge still has not been reflected in my bank account.
- 3/5
The next morning when we went for breakfast (that I had prepaid for) we were told we did not have free breakfast. We went to the desk before heading out for the day and asked if we could get a suite for the remainder of our trip and were told to check back at 4:00 after check in. We did and were in fact put in a suite for the rest of the trip and the pre-paid breakfast was sorted out and was fine. The suite was fine, the bed was comfortable but the sofa was not good. Very small. There were some holes in the carpeting. On 2 consecutive days after sightseeing all day we came back to find out housekeeping had not been to our room. I went to the desk and told them and was told they'd have someone up in a few minutes. 40 minutes later I went down again to tell them house keeping was still not there and they finally came. The second day I went to the desk and calmly told them I was pretty pissed off and they sent someone

- 4/5
The hotel was decent and very close to the metro which was great for traveling to different sights. It was occasionally loud in the middle of the night when trains went through and honked which was not great. The hotel and rooms were clean and staff was friendly.

- 4/5
Room was clean and in good condition. Hotel itself is nice as well. Staff at the front desk for check in was super friendly as was their staff member Marcellus who was incredibly friendly and helpful throughout our stay, recommending places to go see and also to eat. He was very engaging!
- 1/5
I accidentally booked for april 12. Upon trying to change it within minutes to March 29, I was unable to without being charged for both nights. An Expedia representative misrepresented to me that I would not be charged for April 12 before I booked for March 29. Accordingly, in reliance on that statement I booked March 29. Days later after I stayed on March 29, Expedia retracted their statement and said I would not be refunded. Terrible business practice, terrible customer service. No one to talk to.
- 5/5
Bistro with bar service. Good choices, Excellent Service. Half a block to train station food nearby.
- 3/5
Staff was friendly, the rooms were clean yet worn
- 4/5
Cleanliness seemed to be important to staff. evrything was spotless. We got a corner room and it seemed a bit small. There really wasn't a place to put our luggage. Other than that, the room was comfortable, as was the bed. The shower had good water pressure and was easy to adjust the water temp.
- 5/5
Fresh clean room & site. Nice bathroom, spacious room. Helpful staff. Directly near subway & eateries. Walking distance to food hall.I would absolutely stay again & recommend

On my arrival at the hotel, Sunday, March 15, I was tall to leave US$100 for a security. deposit and it will return onto my account It’s now five days since I left and I have not seen my hundred dollars return on my credit card. I left the property just as I receive it. I haven’t drink no water. I haven’t drink the coffee. I am still waiting for my hundred dollars to return on my account Capital One quicksilver please looking for me. I left the hotel on Monday, March 16 6:15 AM.
- 5/5
Overall great stay, rooms were clean especially the bathroom! Staff was friendly upon check in and it’s a very convenient location.
- 5/5
Yes very good
- 1/5
I requested during booking and when checking in for a quiet room on a high floor. Instead I was given a room facing the railway tracks and i had to endure constant horn noise from the trains passing by every night. Management refused to let me change rooms.
- 4/5
Hotel was in a great location for us. Unloading was difficult due to traffic congestion and having to unload on the street, Valet parking was great but a bit pricey. House keeping missed replacing our wash clothes one morning but no big deal.
- 4/5
Had long wait time at the bar at night. Was only attempting to pay for a sweet tea. But the staff that was there was nice just not enough
- 5/5
It was a wonderful weekend
- 2/5
When I went into the room it had an odor the towels were not clean some looked dirty., I went to buy my own and I had to go out for food the second day because the food was not good. I would like a refund.
- 5/5
Great room
- 5/5
Rooms are always fantastic
- 4/5
Very friendly staff.
- 5/5
Staff were all amazing. Friendly, enthusiastic, and made our stay a pleasure. Special call out to Loretta who was cleaning the room, but every single person of the hotel was fabulous. We love the location, and in spite of some difficulties with the internet and the heating system, everyone's reaction to it and friendly response was just incredible. We will 100% be back.
- 5/5
The room was nice and spacious. The staff was incredibly polite from check in to the Valet Staff. Incredibly convenient location with the metro being so close and dominoes being attached for late night eats after the concert we traveled for
- 3/5
Staff was very friendly but the phone was not working and it was never fixed. Also, we had no hot water since a pipe broke so we had to sleep with no heating
- 1/5
Rude staff
- 5/5
The staff were super helpful. It is in a fun area accessible to the metro, shops, and good restaurants. The gym was very clean. Breakfasts were yummy. We found the staff exceptional.

- 5/5
Yes, they were very nice.
- 5/5
We liked the location.
- 4/5
The hotel's location is good. The hotel is close to train station.Hotel room is spacious. The stuff are nice. But room cleaning is not good enough with hair left on the bathroom floor.
- 5/5
Very good service
- 5/5
Everything was wonderful
- 4/5
Didn't love the $250 incidentals hold, W times square only held $100 so I don't understand why a lower end courtyard in DC needs such a high hold. The room was fine I had no real complaints, multiple opportunities to improve on cleanliness. I don't even comment on customer service anymore because it's extinct.
- 5/5
yes everything was great
- 2/5
The room was very loud and made louder by the fact that the heater was on the wall 6 inches from my head. I was jolted awake everyone the heat turned on. In addition, the “blanket” was more like a sheet and the pillows were small -like half the size of a regular pillow and hard as rocks. The bathroom lighting was very dim. All in all a very disappointing stay.
- 3/5
The hotel was beautiful and the staff was friendly. My room was clean. The reason I give 3 stars is that the valet is overpriced/very expensive! Customers should be giving the option to valet or not. Unknowingly, I parked my own car in the garage. The garage is sketchy. It's a small, and tight parking garage. The location of the hotel is a busy area since the city Metro is on the corner. Overall, the inside of hotel and staff 4 stars but the parking, and location 2-3 stars!
- 2/5
Bathroom toilet did not work. Staff seemed incredibly overworked and stressed therefore leading to
- 5/5
We also had an amazing bartender, her name was Dynasia. She was so kind and very welcoming to my friend and I that we came back in the same night just to see if she was still working.
- 5/5
Great hotel! Staff are very professional. Location is just off the red line and there are tons of restaurants at Union Market. The rooms are large and clean, and the gym has a nice variety of equipment. I'd definitely stay here again.
- 5/5
Great staff, got us into our room early, and the room was huge
- 2/5
Desperate for assistance, I went down to the second floor and found him seemingly eager to finish his shift. He glanced at my laptop and claimed that I was logged in, to which I replied that I was not. With a frustrated demeanor, he said he needed to wrap up his shift and that his colleague on the next shift would be able to assist me. Without even looking at me, he placed a small bottle of water on the counter, as if to say, "Here you go for your trouble," without offering an apology. While I didn't need the water, a more courteous gesture and verbal acknowledgment would have been appreciated. It felt as though he was dismissing me just to leave for the day. I felt insulted and did not touch the water bottle, and simple left to my room. Aside from that negative and unprofessional experience, the hotel room was excellent for the rate. I felt it was worth the price, and the bed was one of the best I've ever slept in.
- 5/5
Yes
- 5/5
Clean warm cozy room. Nice view
- 5/5
The rooms were clean. Staff were very nice. They had a cafe on the 2nd floor, really good coffee but pricy. Overall a great experience. I would def go again.
- 5/5
Wonderful experience all the way around! Will definitely be booking again!
- 5/5
The staff was very helpful, the food was good!
- 3/5
Shower barely got warm. fridge in room didn’t work. Other than that over all good.
- 2/5
The smell of the hotel resembles a locker room
- 5/5
It was so nice, the most friendly staff, all very helpful with everything and just really a great experience... will be staying there again when we retuen.
- 2/5
Staff support was lacking. The heating and toilet did not work in the first room I was given. The second room was not clean. Hotel staff was not responsive.
- 2/5
There was no closet and its replacememt was an old rusty armour that was too small to fit my garment bags. The front desk is on the 2nd floor. The set up was awful and i would never return or recommend this place
- 5/5
Staff was exceptional from check in to check out. Dynasia at the bar was awesome! So was the food and drinks.
- 5/5
Absolutely love DC will b coming back!!
- 4/5
Staff were friendly and efficient. The Metro station is conveniently only a few steps away. The only thing keeping me from giving 5 stars is the water pressure was rather weak.
- 5/5
Breakfast no incluyed

AMAZING PHENOMENAL STAFF
- 5/5
The room was spotless, the staff was very helpful, the amenities were very nice.

1. Sin jabón en la ducha por 2 días. 2. Sonido del metro (si bien no suena fuerte, es un sonido constante) 3.
- 4/5
No comment
- 2/5
During the stay staff wasn’t courteous at all. And seemed disengaged and bothered when approached for any questions specially at the front desk. We stay at so many Marriott’s all over and this was by far the worst experience
- 4/5
No free breakfast
- 4/5
The breakfast was ok. Bacon was over cooked. Coffee was cold. I was disappointed that when I asked about a tour information, your staff didn’t have much information. I was told to take the subway. I don’t reside in Washington and have no clue about the subway
- 4/5
Didn’t have breakfast
- 4/5
Everything was good.
- 5/5
Room was clean staff super friendly and very knowledgeable about the area…. Only downfall is theres no parking besides valet
- 4/5
We didn't stay for breakfast. Not enough coffee in the room for two people. Otherwise very nice place, staff super friendly and it was clean and quiet. Will stay again but bring my own coffee for 2 people
- 5/5
Room was clean and attractive
- 4/5
Great experience would recommend to others and would stay again.
- 5/5
just what we needed when we needed it
- 4/5
We saw a roach in our room
- 5/5
Our spacious room with a comfortable sofa was cleaned well daily (except one, not sure of) with complimentary water bottle and chocolates. The staff (both at the entrance and the second floor) were very nice. The hotel is right next to the metro station on the red line
- 5/5
Kind and polite people working all around the hotel made sure our stay was comfortable
- 5/5
The room was clean and tidy. Very comfortable bed. Staff was friendly and helpful.
- 5/5
Great stay, seamless check in. Nice and clean rooms and great staff. Accessible to the red line, and various places to eat.
- 5/5
clean room
- 5/5
did not have breakfast
- 5/5
Great Hotel and staff. Clean and comfortable. Not near the monuments or Capitol but NoMa is a few steps from the hotel.
- 5/5
There was no breakfast bar. We were told we had to pay for breakfast which we did.
- 4/5
Staff welcoming and helpful with providing stay information. Parking would be a negative as rates are ridiculously high. Not everyone staying is coming to town via flight or metro.
- 3/5
All frozen food. The facility is fine, but you need to change the menu make it fresh.
- 5/5
Everything was good. I will stay again.
- 5/5
Excellent and friendly service
- 1/5
My stay was extremely frustrating due to poor communication between the Courtyard and the Hilton Garden Inn. After arriving tired from travel, I learned my reservation was cancelled without notice and was sent—on foot, in the cold—to another hotel with a letter that didn’t even match my original two-night booking. I was sent back and forth between hotels multiple times, given conflicting information, and even locked out of my room despite being told everything was “sorted out.” Staff seemed confused, and a manager was never available when needed. I wasted time, energy, and patience over an issue that was not my fault. The level of inconvenience and disorganization was unacceptable.
- 1/5
Horrible experience.
- 5/5
Great location close to the National Mall... just a couple of Metro stops away.
- 5/5
Staff were amazing, warm and very hospitality. They also recommended great places to explore and enjoy. Staff made that property more enjoyable and I will be staying there again mainly due to the staff and location.
- 1/5
The tub kept clogging everytime I go to shower am I had to stand in dirty water . I left a day early , the staff one in particular names MARKO who does night shifts starting at 10pm was very rude and flamboyant and hung up the phone on me as I was inquiring about my refund for the extra day I didn’t stay !
- 5/5
Marquette and the staff there was phenomenal and they were very nice
- 5/5
Walking distance from the metro station. Great staff!

Room 517
- 5/5
amazing stay
- 5/5
This hotel appeared to be kept up well on the inside. The room was clean upon arrival and staff were friendly. Conversations with staff were frequent, easy and they were all very personable. Likely to choose this location often due to its proximity to the Red Line for the Metro. Literally steps away from the hotel and the 7-11 next door was an added bonus. We even had a room on the side where the metro ran and it turned out to be quieter than I thought. Other guests coming in and out of their rooms made more noise than the metro. Unable to review facilities as we didn't get the opportunity to use any of them but possibly next time.
- 4/5
The staff was Helpful & Great, Room was a little small but Clean.
- 3/5
Great location steps from metro station. Property itself was not up to standards for Marriot properties.

- 5/5
Yes breakfast was fresh.
- 2/5
the AC wasn’t working all of the sudden in the 1st room and it happened in the middle of the night. Our 2nd room started to smell so bad during our last night around 4 pm and it smelled like the gutters.
- 5/5
It was great!
- 5/5
First time staying at this property. The young lady who checked me in was so sweet; even went about and beyond as far as upgrading my room was I told her a story about a bad experience I had that day. She even let me borrow her charger after I had forgotten mine and phone was nearly dead. If in the area again, would definitely stay again.
- 3/5
The staff always seemed to be annoyed

I cant say enough to express how wonderful the staff at this hotel were during our stay. From Marco the night shift desk attendee, to the security guards to the Starbucks employees to the daytime desk attendees to the cleaninf staff, every single person working in that building deserves 6 stars. 5 is not enough. Pay them more! They work so hard! A special mention needs to be shouted out for the valets!!!! The street sotuation is chaotic and theres a lot going on in the narrow space in front of the hotel. I was fascinated. Theyre incredible at that job. Pay everyone double 😆 the facilites are kept very clean, housekeeping left us the sweetest persinal note from our cleaning staff and at every turn we were greeted with a little something to make us feel more at home there. It really showed how thoughtful each staff person was. They each showed us so much grace, patience and kindness and made is feel so well taken care of! The neighborhood is definitely urban, so expect it to be urban. Theres a train station, a 711 and a dominos in the same building. Our inly suggestion is to put step stools in the bathroom for kids to wash hands and brush teeth. Our only critique was that the pool was a little cold. A wonderful experience and the BEST customer service! I could go on and on. Great staff. ❤️

Clean, great customer service

I was happy to see that you couldn’t access the floors with the rooms unless you had a hotel key. However, the area of the hotel did not feel safe.

Will never again there again

Thank you. Kathleen O'Neill

We broke down before we were able to make it they charged us the full price for a room we never stayed it both hotels.com and the hotel could not help us we lost our money so. Don't let any issues arise before traveling it's a waste of money.
- 1/5
Sold out 60$ parking for 5 min check in
- 5/5
Great location near Union Market and Metro stop.
- 5/5
The room and hotel were clean and staff very friendly and helpful. The hotel is next to the metro which is convenient but can be noisy especially when trying to sleep of you're not used to train/traffic noise. Used a pair of sleep ear buds and was able to sleep well.
- 5/5
Clean room and good breakfast
- 5/5
The staff was super friendly and accommodating for my stay for Parents weekend at one of the Universities. I would recommend! Room was clean and quiet and good water pressure in the bathroom.
- 5/5
Great location right next to metro. Within walking distance of everything in the NoMa area.
- 5/5
The staff is friendly. The rooms are nice. Enjoyed it
- 1/5
This hotel was not that great. Parking is impossible and they know that, that’s why valet was $75. I paid less at a 5-star hotel. There are hundreds of rats running around right outside the hotel. The front desk staff had an attitude and the room itself was as regular as you can find. We only stayed here because it was finally a good price but we should have stayed at motel 6.
- 5/5
The Staff went out if there way to host thier guess
- 5/5
Great stay
- 5/5
Very convenient to metro and surrounding area. Staff was very helpful and friendly.
- 3/5
Great place and customer service. The $60 parking fee is the highest I've ever seen and lowered my rating.
- 1/5
I did not like anything about this hotel
- 4/5
Friendly staff; expensive parking and expensive food/beverages.
- 5/5
The he staff are great!
- 4/5
The staff was very helpful and the room was spacious. It was nice to be able to store our luggage before we checked in. The room AC was not working very well (would consistently go out and have to be rebooted) and the shower knob was really wacky (loose, not consistent.) Overall, I would stay again, however.

It was a great place to stay while in DC
- 5/5
The breakfast was not the best, especially for the cost
- 1/5
We had no hot water and they said bc it was third party there was nothing they could do
- 4/5
Excellent location,
- 5/5
The area around the hotel is as expected for an inner city. Just be aware of your surroundings, don't linger too long outside late at night, but if you do, just make sure you are not alone. Other than that, it's a fun and vibrant city. Upon arrival, the concierge was very nice and the check in process was smooth. However, just know that the damage deposit for more than 2 nights stay, is $250. I did not know this information before arriving. Also, they charged my card 2 days before arrival, even though I chose the "pay at hotel" option, so also be aware of that prior to booking. If I visit DC in the future, I would stay at this hotel again.
- 5/5
Decent hotel near subway station.
- 5/5
Did not care for the cashless feature.
- 5/5
Fine
- 5/5
Apart from that the hotel/stay itself was pretty comfortable. The rooms are relaxing with the extra couch that is a good addition compared to sinlge chair option that many hotels in that price bracket have.
- 1/5
We ended up relocating to another hotel.room was amelling musty/smoke
- 5/5
Hotel fica em ótima localização, do lado da estação de metrô. Quarto amplo, confortável, com boas camas e equipado com microondas, cafeteira e frigobar. Banheiro grande com chuveiro super potente. Staff atencioso. Recomendo fortemente.
- 5/5
Everyone was so amazingly sweet very informative and handle everything with care this is my go hotel for Dc when I visit again convenient to everywhere I love staying there
- 5/5
Very clean and convenient! The suite was great!

Customer Services
- 5/5
Everything was great
- 5/5
Great location
- 4/5
The room was as expected, but the air conditioning was not working in the public areas, not a major issue but made the gym impossible to use and the restaurant was also too hit to use.
- 3/5
Service was mostly good. One of the supervisors wasn’t the most courteous individual. My initial room had issues (A/C stopped working, tv stopped working), so they did provide me a new room. I also wasn’t a fan of the couple bums hanging out front everyday. Other than that, not too many other complaints. The cost was reasonable.
- 5/5
Great location, air conditioning wasn’t working in the lobby but staff and room were great!
- 2/5
Needs a renovation badly and please clean this place.
- 4/5
The valet parking was friendly, professional and caring. Registration was fast and friendly. The only disappointment was breakfast :(
- 5/5
Hotel staff had exceptional customer service skills, very professional, sincere, nice and accommodating. We will stay here again! Wonderful service!
- 1/5
I booked a suite and when I arrived. They gave my suite away. I asked how is that possible and front desk could not provide an answer. Also lots of homeless people in and out of the hotel lobby. It was very disappointing.
- 5/5
Awesome area! Lots of food places. I love that you can walk and dont have to drive!!
- 2/5
In front of the Hotel you can see a people under influence asking you for money some of them really scary. The train station is super closed that you can hear the train all night, and also the door and mirror om the bathroom door shaking due to vibration and it was scary when you are on the bathroom. They advertise parking but they doesnt have it and will charge $55 per day. Also the 3 days that we stay we couldn't use the indoor pool either. If you are looking for a good option on Washington this is not the one.she
- 4/5
Property is next door to the metro and a seven 11 and dominos. Staff is very friendly. Unfortunately our air conditioning in the room broke and we had to change rooms. Got to the new room and the main light was out but didn’t feel like having to deal with another issue so just used lamps. Door to get into pool didn’t work but could use a different door so did that. Air conditioning in the gym was broken. Hotel would of been perfect if all the maintenance items were updated
- 3/5
Janky Marriott, far from the norm
- 4/5
Didn’t like breakfast too expensive. Also the parking.
- 5/5
This stay was great. The location was ideal and it was modern and clean.
- 4/5
Enjoyed my stay
- 2/5
It is very well located, near the metro etc,etc
- 4/5
I was happy to have access to many fun restaurants in the nearby union market district and generally felt like a more fun neighbourhood than other areas where I’ve stayed closer to the Capitol. Charging for the in-room water bottle when the tap water is too warm feels like something from a long gone age. Also one annoyance was the long time it took to get around using the elevators without an obvious stair option.
- 2/5
Front Desk could not find room registration after checkin. Continued serving other guests.
- 5/5
We were able to check in early and the location was very convenient for transportation to all the places we visited in DC. Oir room was kept clean since we were there for 4 days.
- 5/5
The Valet was amazing. He remembered me and my daughter, and the saying her birthday. He told her happy birthday and asked about our days. The whole staff was wonderful. Will definitely stay here again.
- 3/5
Really close to the train and staff were nice
- 4/5
The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. The location was great, and the metro was within a short walking distance. The only issue was that there was a pungent stench that ran through the hotel. As soon as you walked in and into the elevators, there was a scent that so overwhelming that it made you sick to the stomach. We were told it was coming from the loading dock, and the staff tried to cover the smell with air fresheners, but that only seemed to make it worse. This is the only negative thing I can report about our stay, other than that we were very pleased with the hotel.
- 4/5
Stay was not bad. The pool was closed, limited ice machines, the restaurant was less than desirable, a/c barely worked. Other than that it was ok. The bright spot was the staff, all of the staff were amazing.
- 5/5
Staff was so nice
- 5/5
I really liked the staff. Very helpful- especially the bartender mo and kitchen staff for assisting me (Mohammed)
- 4/5
Accessible to trains and food stores!0
- 4/5
Overall great property for the price, loved the location and it’s located right beside the train station which made our commute pretty convenient. Please 7/11, subway, dominos etc are all right beside the hotel which is a big boon. There are 2 things I did not like due to which I’m not giving 5 stars - firstly we went during peak summers so pool should’ve been open as we really wanted to take a dip and we specifically booked a hotel with a swimming pool and secondly, we called the room service to bring towels, we had to call 4-5 times and it took more than an hour to get towels (it was our last day and we were getting late for our flight)
- 2/5
The only good thing about the location is that it’s right near the metro station. However, that also attracts sketchy people. Saw what looked like a homeless person wandering around on the 3rd floor. Hotel is decent. Nothing special.
- 3/5
The hotel itself is good, nothing to complain about. It's located conveniently next to the subway, and walkable to the union market as well as the Capitol. One thing though is they refunded the deposts really slow. All the other hotels I stayed in refunded instantly, but it is apparently different from the rest...
- 5/5
The location was great and not having to worry about parking eased some stress.
- 3/5
We were disappointed with our room. Room was dark and entry light was not working. Asked everyday to have it fixed and it was never done. Also safe was not working - also asked everyday. Not fixed. No response to requests. This is supposed to be a better than average hotel. Been there before - but this time was not okay.
- 5/5
Clean room
- 5/5
While this hotel appears a bit older, the rooms were clean and the staff/service was excellent! Emily at the front desk was very friendly and helpful and made our stay so much better. The pool is decent, and the food from the restaurant was delicious! Overall, a very nice stay!
- 5/5
Nice and clean
- 4/5
The hotel was clean and the beds were very comfortable.
- 5/5
Valet was great, first floor and second floor front desk had great customer service. Room was nice, pool was nice. Very quiet. Even the metro passing by wasn't loud. We got great sleep.
- 5/5
From the arrival with the valet service, through the friendliness and attentiveness of the house keeping staff and restaurant workers, to the welcome and personalized touch of the concierge, I felt appreciated and am thankful that my children picked the Marriott Courtyard at the Capitol.
- 5/5
Clean rooms, great location next to Metro station for easy access to most attractions.
- 5/5
The Marriott Courtyard Washington DC Capitol staff shine. They remembered our names, helped us with restaurant locations and told us the best way to get around. They personality was a plus for the hotel. Always smiling and speaking when they saw us. Food was good as well.
- 5/5
We fell in love with the night security Marcetta
- 4/5
Hotel was...fine. Definitely more expensive than it was worth. In a convenient location for metro travel..parking is non existent. Your options are $55 vallet or $30 in a parking garage across the street, $30 each time you leave. If youre lucky, you can park in one of 6 spots in front of the hotel for free on a first come first serve basis. Elevators were in and out of service over the weekend. Overall it was a fine hotel, but too expensive for what it was.
- 4/5
Great hotel. Very courteous staff
- 3/5
All good
- 5/5
Convienient
- 4/5
It’s was good
- 5/5
Really clean. Really well organized was totally worth my time.
- 3/5
Great location. Hotel is somewhat dated. The big issue was the fluctuating water temperature in the shower. If you like your showers freezing or scalding hot, this is the place for you.
- 5/5
Experience was overall great! Only issue was getting car with valet. Curb parking is extremely limited and valet was not immediately to take vehicle. Took a few minutes for valet to arrive and in meantime vehicle was partially blocking traffic on main road. Check in on 2nd floor, no issue.
- 4/5
Convenient to the places I chose to visit.
- 2/5
Staff were friendly, but understaffed. Disliked unauthorized restaurant charge on my credit card. Still unresolved after 30 days, called back today…staff sent for “investigation”
- 4/5
Staff is friendly and helpful. The beds are comfortable and clean. This was our second year staying at the Courtyard and the 7th floor ice machine has not worked either time.
- 3/5
The people who work here are extremely friendly. Thank you very much.
- 5/5
Its great for traveling around the city since it has a subway station nearby. Plus, staff are friendly and helpful. The valet is great and overall, it was a good experience. Would come to visit again.
- 5/5
Incredibly welcoming and friendly staff!
- 5/5
Front desk associate, Marquette was fabulous! Amazing employee and I observed how wonderful he treated everyone that walked through those doors! WOW! Amazing human being!
- 1/5
Non functioning toilet. Non functioning sink drain.
- 5/5
Great location! Close to Metro, so easy access to everything! Comfortable room, consistent with expectations of the Marriott brand. Decent food options nearby.
- 5/5
I loved the rooms very comfortable and the bed soft
- 4/5
We hope to have a better experience next time.
- 4/5
Hotel property was well kept. Biggest plus was that the hotel was close to stores and metro. Ice machine was broken but room had a fridge. Interesting that the Evian water was $8 a bottle in the room.
- 5/5
Staff was friendly and helpful.
- 2/5
The air conditioner in our room was VERY VERY noisy - the room was cool but still impossible to sleep because it rattled all night long. My husband took a video and showed it to the front desk staff, who was shocked by the noise level. Given what we were charged by Expedia (that was a lot more than the rate that appeared on our bill), this was an unacceptable experience.
