Reviews
Guests have mixed feelings about their stay at this hotel. While the location and staff are often praised, cleanliness, room conditions, and maintenance issues are frequently criticized.
- Convenient location
- Friendly and helpful staff
- Poor cleanliness and maintenance
- Outdated and uncomfortable rooms
- 4/5
Staff was very helpful, breakfast was good and rooms were clean and well maintained. Bar selections were minimal.
- 5/5
It was awesome!!!
- 3/5
Several times, I left the hotel and returned to find the room untouched, with the bed unmade and no fresh towels provided. I eventually spoke with the front desk, and I was informed that housekeeping is only scheduled every three days. While I understand that some hotels have adopted different housekeeping policies, I believe fresh towels should be provided more frequently, especially for guests staying multiple nights. One of the staff members was very kind and helpful, and I appreciated his courteous attitude. However, overall, the service was average and did not stand out as exceptional. What concerned me the most was that my niece’s LED lighted mirror went missing from our room during our stay. I reported the missing item both to housekeeping and to the front desk when I checked out. Unfortunately, this situation left me disappointed and concerned about the security of personal belongings. While the hotel was clean and the stay was generally comfortable, the limited housekeeping service and the unresolved missing item significantly affected my overall experience.

Better breakfast options
- 4/5
Excellent location. The Metro station is only a couple of blocks away and there are plenty of restaurants and stores close by.
- 4/5

We liked how close it was to the metro/subway also we loved the Hot breakfast and the whole staff was very friendly and helpful. A good variety of food choices : eggs, meats, potatoes, all kinds of breads or bagels, & fruits. Great toppings for your yogurt from fruit to granola and old fashioned oats with nut toppings , brown sugar & berries. Coffee was great as well as juices, plenty of seating to eat. The room was a nice size the window was as huge and the bed is right next to it if on the street side you can see the people across the way we kept screen closed but we could still see through it we wished they would have put the large sofa next to the window for more privacy. The comforters need an upgrade they seemed very washed & worn and I felt like I needed more blankets and this was summer . If they would have been more padded it would have been nicer & warmer. It could have been an easy fix if I would have requested more blankets or comforter. I really liked the location.
- 5/5
The location, staff, amenities, breakfast bar made our family stay well worth the stay. We were close to the metro, accessible to restaurants and sights. We would definitely stay here again.
- 3/5
The stay was okay. The trash wasn’t taken out of the room throughout the stay. Never got clean towels/sheets for the next day. Very dissatisfied.
- 4/5
Location Breakfast Valet parking was not available and when we checked in system was crashed and did not get a room key
- 3.5/5
Close to the American Mall No parking—had to pay $15 a day to park. It advertised parking but didn’t say you had to pay extra and walk a block to park. Also, the pillows were old and uncomfortable and the pull-out sofa was very uncomfortable
- 5/5
The staff were very helpful and nice, they offered extra bed sheets, pillows and blankets with no extra cost.
- 5/5
Front of house / Reception was excellent and very helpful. Especially Kaylin. Thank you very much.
- 2/5
It took at least 20 minutes to find the valet as he was walking around. Once we got into the room we noticed it was hot and humid with the thermostat set at 74 degrees. For 2 hours we tried to get it working with no luck. By the time we checked out it was 77 degrees in the room. 3 of the outlets between the beds were broken and wouldn't hold plugs. The curtain was broken on one end, took every bit of 10 minutes to get it down. There were 3 ice machines of which the ones on floor 4 and 6 were broken with no signs and no warning from the staff at check in. It took 15 minutes to figure out the only working one was on 12.
- 3/5
Nothing great about this property
- 1/5
Nothing really. Location; cleanliness, age of the rooms; bathroom quality and shower water pressure was poor. Bath towels the size of large hand towels!
- 4.5/5
Beakfast had good healthy choices. Room size was very good. Number of towels was great. Nothing to complain really.
- 3/5
Decent location- close to red metro line Ubers to most DC attractions easy and about a 10 min ride Breakfast was good 1. Bathroom door would not lock as lock was broken and front desk said that is how it is. As we were a family traveling, it was not comfortable 2. The shower head was not good! Forced water at speeds that hurt your body. All options on shower head were similarly uncomfortable to use. Common Hyatt...over 200 dollars a night charge should make stay more comfortable 3. There was some kind of a leak outside our window on 8th floor. Kept dripping and falling on a metallic structure all night creating a constant noise.
- 5/5
Room was great. King bed with a large sofa. Bathroom was spacious. Breakfast was excellent. Short walk to the Metro.
- 5/5
Breakfast was amazing. Parking fee.
- 4/5
Very clean room Great bed and facilities Great big window city view Parking in the street Near lots of restaurants Crowded breakfast Crowded lobby
- 1/5
Terrible customer service
- 4/5
Breakfast
- 2.5/5
Location was good The room had no USB port. I have not stayed in a hotel in years that does not have a port to charge your phone or your laptop. That was super inconvenient. There were also no curtains to keep sunlight out. The only thing that we had was a pulldown screen that allowed the 5:30 AM sunlight to shine in. Both are easy fixes.
- 1/5
Not clean too experienced for the quality
- 4/5
Nicely laid out and close to food and trains. The pool wasn’t open. I had messaged months ago asking if the pool would be open, and they said it usually open mid May. So my kids were very disappointed. I probably would have booked a different hotel with a pool.
- 4.5/5
It rained all weekend and nothing else to do.
- 3.5/5
Overall The Stay was good
- 3/5
The hotel staff was nice. Check in was easy. Breakfast was decent with lots of options. Our room was very hot with only 1 small wall vent for cool air to come through. I assume the hotel is older. Location was convenient to the National Mall which is why we were there. Overall, not a bad place to stay.
- 1/5
The positives first — the room cleanliness was good, and the bedsheets and linens were fresh, clean, and comfortable. However, several aspects of the stay were disappointing. The rooms felt quite small and lacked comfort for an extended stay. The shower experience was poor due to inadequate water flow and drainage issues. The AC vents could not be properly controlled, making room temperature management difficult. There were also constant creeping/cracking sounds coming from one of the room panels, especially noticeable at night. Despite raising concerns, the response from the staff was delayed, and no alternate room was assigned, which was disappointing from a hospitality standpoint. Housekeeping service was also limited, with cleaning reportedly done only once every three days, which may not suit many travelers. Breakfast was below expectations — very average with a limited spread and much less variety compared to other Hyatt Place properties. Overall, while the hotel maintained decent cleanliness standards, the service responsiveness, room comfort, amenities, and overall guest experience did not meet the expectations typically associated with the Hyatt Place brand.
- 3/5
Location. So many homeless people
- 2/5
Room was big. No advertising that the pool was closed. Also breakfast was average and served on plastic plates, cutlery, cups etc. Like most hotel rooms the room was dark even with all lights on
- 5/5
Breakfast was hot and fresh. Rooms are clean and not outdated. Hotel close to NoMa metro station.
- 3.5/5
Location I am not much of a traveler and haven’t stayed in the hotel in a while. Not used to new protocol. Would be nice for a staff to stop by and see if our needs were even if they did not clean the room in between. Like the old-fashioned system of having brochures printed about amenities. Did not know how to scan barcodes left in the room to access information.
- 1.5/5
. .
- 1/5
Location was ok. All other services were very poor. Will not recommend this hotel to friends. The room service, the front desk staff and the cleaniness was not upto the mark. No one came to make up the room during our 5 nights stay. The front desk staff was very arrogant and non polite.
- 5/5
Very nice, the valet was was exceptionally good!
- 1/5
They do not clean the rooms and when you ask they act like you’re crazy for asking. And phone in the room was not working place appears to be falling apart.
- 4/5
I stayed at this hotel for my daughter’s college graduation over the weekend. One morning for a short time the water was shut off temporary. The room was clean, good breakfast selection, and I didn’t rent a car due to the hotel deposit was for $500.00! It would be ideal to explain the deposit before reservation.
- 5/5
The staff was truly attentive and kind. Cozy room and the breakfast was very good for buffet style.
- 5/5
Staff ..
- 5/5
Wonderful stay, I have nothing but good things to say I would absolutely stay here again
- 4/5
The room was clean, one of your staff members went over and beyond and breakfast was served hot and ready. The only hiccup was the double suite I was in had blinds covering a wall, I thought it was a window to look out of, however it was glass with wood boards behind it. I don’t know if they were doing construction or what, but very weird. It didn’t affect our stay.
- 1/5
Not clean hold fournitur
- 3/5
The breakfast was very good! Not parking just valet parking very expensive. We use a parking in front of the hotel. The room was clean and the location near the subway station .
- 5/5
All of the staff we encountered were great. Standouts included Cleaven and Joseph in the breakfast area and Jerome at the front desk. We also thank the morning and evening valet attendants. They were always prompt and friendly.
- 5/5
Good
- 5/5
The staff are the absolute best! Everyone was so friendly and willing to help us. We could not have had a better stay.
- 5/5
Nice and fresh breakfast.
- 4/5
Breakfast was healthy. Staff were kind and courteous. Location was good way to find an a quick scooter ride to the capitol.
- 4/5
It was a nice hotel. It was pretty clean. Stay was friendly when they were at the desk.
- 4/5
This hotel is within a short walk to the subway, and this makes it a GREAT spot for tourists! We also were a short uber ride from some locations. The building itself seemed a bit old (some cracks in the wall) but it was clean. Staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast will suffice. Overall, a good stay & I would stay again.
- 2/5
The staff was AMAZING, 100 percent not there fault. But our original room was extremely hot (79) when we came back in the day, had to come fix the ac. The window had no black out blind or curtains and there was spotlights so it was crazy bright. The glass was broken on the shower so they just put a curtain that didn’t reach the bottom of the shower so it leaked all over the bathroom, couch was crazy stained, mirror had peeled off the glass, everything was rusted, scratched etc. Second day they couldn’t get us into another room because they were sold out. Third day they got us into a room that had basically all the issues fixed so than was nice.
- 5/5
Front desk’s staff was very helpful in everyway the morning crew was on it. I had a train delay, they were very accommodating. Extra stars for them😎
- 3/5
no hotwater that time, transfer to different hotel
- 5/5
Excellent service. Clean rooms
- 5/5
Breakfast was good, my son loved the pancakes. The staffs were very friendly and helpful whenever we needed something. My son loves to stay in as much as he loves to explore outside. Overall we had a great time during our stay.
- 5/5
The location is really convenient for exploring the DC area. Breakfast was a step above a normal continental breakfast. The hotel pool was closed because we were too early in the season.
- 4/5
It’s a family friendly place and staff are accommodating. They just need to follow cleaning schedule. Overall it was a good experience staying there ❤️
- 5/5
Clean room, great staff, nice breakfast. Thank u
- 4/5
This is an older hotel, but it is clean and well kept. The location is about 2 blocks for NOMA metro stop and about 1 mile walk to Union Station, which makes us super convenient to see the DC sights. Wish there were more food options within close by, but there are options 4+ blocks surrounding. There is a great pizza place across the street and Mcdonald's on the corner! The staff was helpful and friendly. Breakfast was a perk, it was fresh and hot and there was plenty of food offered for the entire breakfast hours. There were scrambled eggs, potatoes and sausage, and pancakes, french toast and waffles would alternate days, plus the traditional continental offerings.
- 3/5
Staff were attentive, air conditioning didn’t work on our room so they moved us to another room. Towels were thin, pretty clean, breakfast was standard.
- 3/5
Rooms were clean. Lobby was dirty and stained. They only offer valet parking for $65 a day plus 18% sales tax added to it. No close public parking. I had to call the front desk at night to address the yelling from the room next door and they never addressed.
- 4/5
Breakfast is good
- 3/5
The breakfast was very limited and not very good. At other hotels I have seen muffins, yogurt and hot chocolate, even waffles. None of these were offered - simply eggs, pancakes, toast and sausage every day. The variety was limited and did not change in our four day stay except one day they had french toast sticks.
- 3/5
Hotel is in the well worn side. The heat didn’t work in my room. Staff seems busy with everything else except being helpful.
- 4/5
Quick trip stay with my older kids for a visit at Howard University. Room was very nice, great views, & clean. Not to keen on the parking situation & having to pay for parking, but I guess we have to consider it is DC. I would recommend them to have 2 valet parking people, not 1. It would help from guests having to wait for long periods of times on their vehicles even after calling ahead to have it ready before leaving. Overall, I would definitely stay again!
- 5/5
The hotel is located in a wonderful area, close to the Metro, excellent restaurants within walking distance.
- 5/5
Our stay was excellent!
- 1/5
Waiting on front desk for like 15 minutes it’s nowhere you can park your car in the front to check in then the valet dude tell me I have five minutes to check in when I was sitting waiting 15 minutes for somebody to come to the front
- 1/5
As soon as i got the eleveators it smelled and going to our room there were bags with trash in the hallways. The sheets on one of the beds and sofa bed were dirty and stained. I went downstairs and the young man at the front desk was nice about it and apologized. When the housekeeping went to the room they were not so nice and talking in spanish like if we didnt understand with an attitude saying nothing was dirty. Instead of changing the sheets and blankets only one sheet was left. I felt so uncomfortable and disgusted that i did not want to eat the "free" breakfast and ended up checking out 1 day early and going elsewhere for the rest of my stay. Very disappointed as this was a familt trip and expedia had good reviews for this place and its cleanliness, must if been fake or paid reviwes because this place is far from clean.
- 5/5
Very clean and nice. Staff was super helpful and very nice.
- 5/5
Great customer service
- 5/5
Good
- 5/5
Clean. Great location.
- 5/5
Very nice property and great friendly staff. The breakfast had a nice selection.
- 2/5
I stayed at this location in VA Beach and it was great, but this location in DC was not so great. The other party that I booked a room for had to change their room twice due to finding dirt and blood in the other two rooms. Staff was friendly and accommodating
- 4/5
I reserved this hotel last minute for my husbands birthday weekend and it did not disappoint. We were greeted by the sweetest young man named Jerome. He was so pleasurable and personable. The only thing that I disliked was the parking (the only reason I gave 4 stars), it was impossible to find a parking spot. But they do offer valet! I would definitely book here again!
- 1/5
Staff was good. The rooms were not the best. Had to change my room twice as the first one was very stuffy and noisy from the vent and the second room had molds.
- 2/5
Andrew was amazing, however the room was less water pressure
- 5/5
Staff was nice. Breakfast is good, and Hotel is clean and in a great location.
- 5/5
The Staff was knowledgeable and helpful, Room was nice and clean
- 5/5
The room was clean and the staff was very accommodating.
- 5/5
Nice
- 1/5
- fridge didn’t work - toilet broke - our hotel room didn’t work - shower water was cold and wouldn’t get hot
- 3/5
A lot of things were broken, the shower door was barely movable, the sliding door to the bathroom had a broken bottom track, there was no hooks or areas to hang towels, both the bed lamps were broken on their hinges so they just hung there. Like I said though, the staff and breakfast were both wonderful.
- 5/5
Staff was great
- 4/5
The gentleman who checked me in at about 8 PM was extremely helpful
- 4/5
Everything was fine. vallet parking only. would not help you find cheaper parking options.
- 5/5
Great experience!
- 3/5
Tiny snack bar and ahop items. Not as nice as most Hyatts. Had Heater issues that weren’t fixed. Huge charge up front for deposit and room.
- 5/5
everything was perfect, and they found out the way to make check in earlier than supposed
- 3/5
I travel to Washington often to meet legislators to advocate for ALS and will have to think twice before booking a room at this hotel.
- 1/5
The only thing good about the hotel was the staff, they were very friendly. I had to change rooms because my tv didn’t work in the first room, then they gave me a new key for my second room and it didn’t work. They created a new key and escorted me up to make sure I could get in. Then I got in the room and that TV didn’t work either so I looked behind it and it wasn’t plugged in to power. Then I got ready to go to sleep and realized it was freezing cold in the room 63 degrees and the thermostat didn’t work so I couldn’t move it up. I ended up sleeping in my heavy coat under the covers because I wasn’t going to change rooms again. I am requesting a full refund for this reservation, it was the worst Hyatt experience I have ever had.
- 1/5
Thank you for the opportunity to speak with you about this. To answer the question was our room neglected? In a word: Y E S !!!!!!!! Several missteps culminated to dampen our stay in the Hyatt House in Washington DC was room number 1415. After a long day of air travel, we arrived to our room to find there was no darkening Shades or drapery. We didn't find this out until later after we had unpacked and the room darkened. By that time the front desk and apologized vut offered us the option to move to another room. We were exhausted abd had to be up eatly the next day. Being very tired so we stayed.. We were booked for three nights and received no housekeeping service. There was a knock on the door at 5:00 p.m. one evening and housekeeping offered room service. At that point we are in our pajamas taking a nap and declined, with a request that they return in the morning; they never returned. This was deplorable service to offer guest of Hyatt House. It was our first and last time staying with Hyatt House.
- 5/5
Clean rooms
- 5/5
Yes.
- 5/5
Solo travel for business…clean upscale room…the staff at front desk and others were extremely helpful, friendly and professional.
- 5/5
Outstanding staff, clean and spacious room, great vibe.
- 5/5
Yes
- 5/5
The front desk staff was the friendliest bunch of people I've ever come across in DC. They were kind, thoughtful, generous and caring. Jermaine made check in seamless and the girl in the morning offered ideas of things to do in the area. They made the checkout and check-in for insurance stay an easy process. The GM store stopped to say hi on his way in for the day, I could tell he really cared about the guests but also his staff. Everytime I called the desk, they were helpful and accommodating. The gym was really useful and I hope that I can come back and check out the pool sometime. With the snow, deliveries were hit or miss, so having 711 and food spots close was really helpful. The Metro isn't too far, probably some street parking without snow and there's a day parking lot across the street but I found the valet worth every penny. Breakfast was surprisingly good and others guests were so friendly too. I would recommend to anyone staying in DC. I will be back!
- 5/5
Friendly staff & nice, clean and comfortable room.
- 2/5
Hotel needs to be upgraded, worn Carpets, worn towels, paid for Valet. Had to get my own car. (They Refunded valet). Staff was nice.
- 5/5
Clean room, pleasant and helpful staff, excellent complimentary breakfast
- 5/5
The room was great, breakfast was amazing and staff was courteous and most helpful. Definitely use this hotel whenever i visit DC again. It was close to monuments and museums.
- 2/5
The room wasn't properly cleaned, there were tissues covering the smoke detector and crumbs on the sofa bed with old sheets. They also charge you for parking without telling you up front.
- 1/5
horrible never was our rooms change bed only bathroom even I went to reception area and complain about other room they took blankets out and leave on hall floor for all day that is out of mind, I request for bar soap, and they told they run out of it, and I answered what???
- 5/5
The service was impeccable… friendly staff and great breakfast choices.
- 4/5
Yes but there were a few scratches on the furniture.
- 2/5
The breakfast is good, and most of the staff are friendly. However, the check‑in process needs improvement, I had to wait about 20 minutes because no one was at the front desk.
- 5/5
High recommend
- 1/5
The service from the staff member at the front of the hotel was very poor.
- 5/5
Clean room, good staff, sufficient amenities.
- 4/5
Everything was, overall, very nice. The valet parking is excessively expensive, even in comparison with other nearby options.
- 4/5
We had to relocate hotels, but definitely enjoyed my stay
- 5/5
Yes it was and yes they were!
- 5/5
The room was clean. The bed was comfortable and the staff was amazing.
- 5/5
Just one small inconvenience—they don’t give complimentary water bottles.
- 5/5
Staff was great
- 5/5
I never went
- 5/5
Great place. Clean and affordable. Complementary breakfast was excellent and they even allowed my daughter to visit and enjoy breakfast too. I’ll definitely be going back.
- 1/5
Room smelt like marijuana smoke and the heat did not work, the room was colder than the hall way stuck at 64 and 65. Its the winter, the family and myself had to sleep with our jackets on. Told the counter… they were not interested in giving me another room or helping resolve it. Horrible experience for the first time with a Hyatt location. No Parking either… had to risk parking my Canadian Plated Luxury Vehicle on the road. Do not travel with family to this location. This hotel is for smoking in rooms and getting Uber’d to, does not uphold a Hyatt standard.
- 4/5
Room smells like cigarette
- 3/5
The pillows were uncomfortable and very hard.
- 5/5
Convenient location and very friendly staff make our trip to DC pleasant.
- 5/5
Great breakfast. Goid city view.
- 5/5
All of the staff were wonderfully friendly and helpful. Especially Joseph and Jerome.
- 5/5
Nice location, convinient room, good service
- 4/5
We got sent to sister hotel Hyatt on 2121 George Washington. The hotel was good. There was some sheets and pillows cases that was stained. We asked for fresh ones and got better ones.
- 4/5
Courteous staff
- 4/5
I enjoyed my stay at Hyatt Place. My room was clean and had everything I needed. It is an easy block and 1/2 to the metro and a couple blocks to
- 5/5
Padilla and reciption staff all are excellent cooperative answers all questions thank you very much
- 1/5
They had no hot water. The toilet was leaking around the tank. It was water coming in my the window somehow! The staff was nice but nothing could be fixed!!
- 5/5
Everything was nice except that at one night, some people were smoking marijuana which from other rooms which distorted our sleep.
- 4/5
It was nice but parking sucked very limited and i did not want to pay 65$ to park
- 1/5
This forced us to accept the offer of moving to the Georgetown location in early morning.. the room lacked linens for the sofa bed, and the room also had an unpleasant musty smell. The location in general is somewhat forlorn..
- 2/5
No hot water torn carpet and the room phone was not working. Never again
- 3/5
Very basic
- 3/5
Clean room, very friendly staff. However, the water pressure for the bath was way too low, and the parking was inconvenient.
- 3/5
The water temperature during our stay was freezing. We did call the front desk and they stated they were working on the boiler to give them 30 minutes but the water temperature never changed.
- 5/5
Room darken shades made sleeping late wonderful
- 3/5
Well pretty average, if u ask me
- 4/5
With an advance reservation, was quite economical. The free breakfast and the 24hr fitness room was appreciated. Was a bit of a long walk to downtown events, but the nearby metro stop was convenient.
- 3/5
The staff was amazing! The on-site parking was misleading and I got stuck paying $65 for parking with their valet. They were having an issue with their hot water so my husband had to take a cold shower before his surgery (which is why we got a room to be close to the hospital) our room was clean but smelled like marijuana. If not for the staff I would’ve rated this lower but they were professional and friendly.
- 5/5
Excellent
- 4/5
The room was nice and the staff was friendly. easy access to public transportation two blocks to metro. Breakfast needs help its on the level of seven-11 and wear a coat the area was freezing in December. Parking. $65.00 lol. Public lot P across street for 20.00. So this is the good and bad. Keep it real review.
- 4/5
For all the money they asked for they could've gave us a cleaner room, then we get there no where on the app did it say anything about a $100 deposit so we had to get that together and then there's only 1 microwave for the entire building. The people are ok but not great, the breakfast could've been better. The ice machine in the 4th floor was broke so it was only 1 ice machine for the entire building which is on the 12 floor. The elevator was making noise when we was in it
- 5/5
Check in was smooth. Room clean and spacious.
- 4/5
I had a nice stay at Hyatt Place US Capitol. The location is convenient. The subway stop is less than 5 minutes away. There is a nice grocery store within easy walking distance as well as multiple restaurants, CVS, liquor store and a cool beer garden. The hotel is not brand new, but my room was very clean. The breakfast was generous, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The valet parking was expensive, but convenient and safe. I would stay again.
- 5/5
Clean room and nice rooms, excellent stuff.
- 4/5
Staff was amazing! Sad that there was very little hot water for a shower and the heater wasn’t working properly but overall was happy with my one night stay
- 3/5
The front desk staff was the most disappointing part. I felt like I was bothering them most of the times. The staff member that checked me out was very helpful and pleasant but the others were not as pleasant.
- 1/5
I hated staying at this hotel. The front desk attendant who checked me in was extremely rude. I paid for a high floor and she put me on the sixth floor, even though the hotel has fifteen floors. The breakfast has a very limited menu. They didn’t clean my room, and the heater made a very loud noise and wasn’t working properly.
- 5/5
Great location; friendly staff; excellent breakfast; nice room
- 5/5
The room was clean and nice the breakfast was nice and clean. staff was friendly and nice place to stay.
- 5/5
Clean room, welcoming staff especially the front desk workers who were eager to assist and make my stay as pleasent as possible.
- 5/5
Plates etc at breakfast are disposable. Need better environmentally friendly options
- 5/5
Great customer service, clean room.
- 3/5
If my room is any indication of the overall hotel, it can use an upgrade and cleaning. Sofa stained, bathroom tiles slapt together, vents dirty with lint.
- 4/5
It was amazing!
- 5/5
Great location, sleek and comfortable room with airy light filled high floor view. Great breakfast. Thoroughly lovely stay.
- 3/5
no parking
- 4/5
A window blinds pulley hard to put
- 5/5
Very friendly and accommodating.
- 5/5
Friendly staff, clean room
- 5/5
Breakfast was super awesome in comparision to many other hotels I've stayed at. Quite the variety... pancakes, eggs, grits, fresh fruit, etc.. The room was great. The view! Everything was nice and clean. Spacious. Will definitely be staying here again for my random trips to DC.
- 5/5
Clean room good staff
- 5/5

Great experience
- 3/5
Not great
- 4/5
It was close to Union Market and other dining options
- 2/5
Our main issue here was that the neighborhood felt unsafe. That being said, the front door of the hotel is kept locked, so I guess once we were inside we felt pretty good.
- 3/5
The lobby was dirty, the hallways were dirty, the room was clean. The bedding was clean. They need to do some updates in the worst way. Our fridge was putting off heat in the way they have it stored. If you want the bare minimum this would be ok. Parking was not really an option so you should plan to valet.
- 2/5
The room I stayed in had damages to furniture. The bathroom door dented/scuffed, a lot of chipped paint on desks, the carpet was ripped, the chaise lounge was ripped/scuffed, the couch had cigarette burn marks as well as the bed sheets. This wasn’t an ideal room. I was not satisfied with this room stay and I’ve stayed a numerous Hyatt hotel locations.
- 5/5
Young lady at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. She did amazing both with the check-in & checkout process. The gentleman working at valet, Emanuel was above and beyond when it came to helping us get our car situated both coming in and going out. As busy as he was he treated me and I noticed everyone else with kindness, patience and love. God bless Emanuel, the young lady at the front desk and the staff. You all were great. 🙏

It's my go-to hotel for when I'm in DC
- 4/5
quiet, good breakfest
- 4/5
The stay was okay, but all the money we spent for staying ! They still wanted parking for $72 for overnight! I thought that was crazy!
- 5/5
Is ok
- 4/5
Staff was nice and friendly. Only issue was bathroom sink had a leak.
- 4/5
Shower backed up and had to be plunged. Dark black stuff came outof thedrain. Looked disgusting. Shower head and water pressure was awful. Hotel really nice tho. Room nice. Had a good stay actually. Wish the hallways did not smell like weed tho
- 3/5
The Hyatt stay was… fine. The continental breakfast was okay, nothing to write home about, and the coffee matched that energy. The real stars were the night shift staff — friendly, professional, and genuinely helpful. The morning crew could take a few notes from them. Big downside: safety and parking. The area didn’t feel particularly secure at night, and there’s absolutely nowhere to park unless you go with valet (and yes, we tried looking). The room itself was serviceable but dated — the sofa bed had definitely seen better decades, and cleanliness wasn’t its strong suit. The bathroom and fixtures could use some attention; rust on hangers and in the shower isn’t a great look. All in all, decent service (depending on the shift), okay comfort, but too many small issues to overlook. Would I stay again? Maybe — if the night crew ran the whole show.
- 4/5
Encountered a not so nice staff at the front desk. She is not friendly, not really willing to help. She helped but not kindly. Close-by restaurants are convenient to go to.
- 5/5
Excellent
- 3/5
The entire room was covered in ketchup... like everything was sticky, it was so gross. Clearly a toddler had put their little hands on everything. There were tiny handprints all over the mirrors and window.
- 3/5
Parking was awful and difficult to figure out. Was not easy to get back out to car after we realized we had forgotten something. Front desk seemed annoyed and was not very friendly with us or the guests in line ahead of us.
- 5/5
Front desk staff was amazing! Super nice and accommodating!!
- 3/5
Shower stall tiles old and looked dirty. Carpet dingy and worn. Room had moldy smell. Staff was polite and professional.

The neighborhood was a little shady on one side whereas the other side was great. For the price I paid it was a great stay
- 4/5
Stay was good. Unfortunately, the breakfast wasn’t that great. Jerome was nice and helpful.
- 1/5
Me an my husband went to Hyatt to have a romantic anniversary get away. The ac didnt work. 65 dollars a night for valet. When you would call the front for your car, they dont inform anyone else about the customer needing there car. I was there to relax n enjoy my anniversary. I was stressed out an very disappointed.

The staff was super accommodating. Andrew, Jerome, and the Breakfast crew were exceptional and ensured we were taken care of during our stay. I will definitely return here again. Great job everyone and thank you.

Evry thing good but can do best. Check the all lamps, sofa not comfortable to sleep.

Rooms are not
- 2/5
I stayed two nights at this location. I had issues with the AC, I called service before leaving the room, I came back 3 hours later, no one checked it. I called again, someone showed up, did nothing and left. Next day, I called again, a technician came in. after about 30 mins of intervention he couldn't fix it. I spent the night with the noise of the fans i was supplied with. I wouldn't stay again here no would I recommend to anyone to stay here.
- 1/5
Over all the hotel was great. However, they do not offer parking except valet for i think it was 65 dollars per day. The hotel do not even offer some sort of discout on parking the patking knowing the hotel is aware. Total incovience the whole weekend.
- 5/5
The hospitality was great very good people working there. Excellent service.
- 5/5
The comfort and cozy vibe is great, but the pool floor cut my toe
- 1/5
I have more picture For the pillow On the sofa and mattress It’s very very very black and dirty
- 4/5
The location was not clean, the hotel was nice
- 4/5
Bed was smaller than king and the sofa bed wasn’t clean
- 5/5
I would like to express my sincere appreciation for the staff at this hotel. The check-in process, facilitated by Jerome and his colleagues at the front desk, was both efficient and informative. As a single parent, I found Moola from the valet service to be particularly considerate and helpful. His efforts contributed to a sense of safety during our stay, and his kindness did not go unnoticed.
- 4/5
I didnt get the womans name but she was an african american woman, she worked all night an day an was always pleasant
- 3/5
Clean , spacious but noisy area
- 3/5
Customer service was not so good.
- 4/5
STAFF WAS VERY ACCOMODATING
- 5/5
I was highly impressed with everything the hotel has offered to its guests. First, rooms are spacious with extra furniture, the bathroom was clean, and the service was great. Most importantly, they offer free breakfast with so many options. Staff are professional and the environment is safe.
- 4/5
One thing we were very disappointed in was that their parking fee was more than double than what is stated online.
- 5/5
Very good
- 1/5
The hotel did not allow my son to check in because he was under 21, a condition I didn’t know at the time of booking. They could have been friendlier and more accommodating after I told them he was on travels for 30 hours before arriving at the hotel.
- 3/5
It was a little run down for a Hyatt
- 1/5
I was given a dirty room with unmade beds. The couches were horrendously stained. The new room they put me in was a bit cleaner but it was disgusting honestly.
- 5/5
Tremendous breakfast with lots of helpful servants moving around trying to fulfill any request
- 4/5
It was our first visit to Washington, DC, traveling from Florida. My family and I were disappointed about how dirty the city was. The fact that we had to use our room keys to go in and out of the property gave us a feeling of being unsafe. Parking was not only very limited and expensive but totally unsafe as each morning when we got out of the rooms cars parked outside had been broken into. Also, there were lots of people walking on the street using and dealing drugs without hiding it. There were people sleeping in tents in the middle of the city and lots of people asking for money to use drugs. There were also several very large signs posted downgrading the country's President (however we feel about politics, I think we should always be respectful to a country's Commander and Chief, especially in the nation's capital). The hotel is walking distance from the U.S. capitol, the White House, the National Mall and many monuments; also, there are lots of eating options nearby, and the city is pedestrian and bikers' friendly. Although we had those outing options, we felt unsafe to go eat or walk, so we limited our stay to daytime hours during busy times.
- 5/5
The location and seem sketchy but we were fine with it. loved how close it was to the metro, variety of restaurants and pharmacy. the breakfast buffet was delicious and even had some gluten free options. The only thing we didnt like is that there is no parking, except for valet for $65/night!
- 4/5
We had a nice stay. There were no sheets for the sofa bed and no food at night. Besides that it was great.
- 4/5
The valley parking is too expensive
- 2/5
I stayed in room 1108, and I must express my concerns regarding its cleanliness. There were food crumbs present within the sofa bed, indicating insufficient attention to detail during the cleaning process. Moreover, the wallpaper in the bathroom was peeling, which detracts from the overall aesthetic. Additionally, I observed rust on the shower, towel rack, and basin, which further suggests a need for maintenance and improvement.
- 3/5
The staff was nice.
- 3/5
Valet charges were outrageous
- 5/5
Had an amazing stay! Close to Metro, comfortable beds, loved the security features to get to your floors.
- 3/5
Nothing much in the area ni parking lot, you will pay to park your car as a guest
- 4/5
The area around the Hyatt did not feel entirely safe in the evening. We saw several cars with broken windows and a few strange characters. The hotel itself is ok but does not offer enough seating for breakfast, there is very little space right next to the buffet and they squeezed in too many tables and chairs. Come early for breakfast and bring a sweater the aircon is set really low. The gym had Peloton bikes which I really liked. Overnight parking at $65 is way too much and should be offered at a lower rate.
- 3/5
Breakfast was terrible
- 4/5
The hotel was in a great position, staff friendly, room very nice. Breakfast area totally inadequate for number of guests. Very long queues. We stayed 3 nights.
- 4/5
Check-in was bad. I initially reserved one room with two beds for me and my mother, and I made the payment online. However, when I checked into the hotel, I was told the room is not available for the evening. I made my disappointment known to the hotel receptionist and he gave us two rooms, each with one bed for free due to the mess created by system discrepancies. Other than this, we enjoyed a great night.
- 3/5
Only spent a night here with my husband and kids. Overall it was good. We were unaware of the 65.00 charge a night for parking until we arrived and found out the hotel sits on a very narrow street and you either have to download an app or use the valet, which is$65 a night. The pool was nice and the complementary breakfast was pretty good.
- 4/5
Make sure the AC is working in rooms.
- 2/5
The only saving grace was the staff. Everyone was helpful especially Jerome. They are helpful and they follow through.
- 1/5
First couples vacation in over 20 years without children. Unfortunately, accommodations were extremely disappointing. The lack of cleanliness was not fit for a brand such as Hyatt! We refused to use the shower without shoes due to the mildew and water damage in bathroom was the whole ceiling. Water damage in hallway by the door with peeling paint. Carpet was dirty. Stayed 3 nights, no housekeeping. We asked the front desk, they said they clean every other day, but they DON'T and DIDN'T. Hallways were an inferno with water dripping from the ceiling and garbage can placed below where people used as garbage gone unemptied in 4 days. Breakfast buffet was impossible to get into, not enough space to accommodate people to sit and eat. Floors were sticky. Coffee caused heartburn from the first sip. Although valet people were extremely kind, they were over worked, and we waited 45 minutes to get the car. Front desk personnel complained about being overworked and understaffed. No one monitoring the cleanliness of the common areas, including downstairs conference rooms and bathrooms. Sadly, this was a truly unpleasant experience, unexpected from the Hyatt brand. We can only attach 1 photo, otherwise we would include the dozens others taken. Property feels neglected and only there for revenues. Don't use the rusted pool either.

Great place friendly staff!
- 1/5
Friendly staff!
- 4/5
Nice property, paid for a high room and they put me on third floor! I mentioned it to the guy checking me in and he did change it to 9th floor, still thought I should have been up higher considering there was 15 floors! Me and my wife went down and each had 3 beers! Kinda our mistake too for not asking how much they were but they should have something with price cuz $11 a beer is kinda ridiculous! And valet parking says $65 but it was actually 76.70. But overall nice place to stay!
- 4/5
Friendly and very helpful staff, great breakfasts, area is quiet and safe; strategically located with walking distance to essential locations.
- 5/5
It was great very affordable for a night no complaints.
- 3/5
The breakfast was really good and the lobby was always cold and welcoming after a hot day. The staff was good too.
- 2/5
We arrived and the staff were friendly and helpful. Outside the entrance to the building smelt of urine as homeless people live on the nench outside and use the area as a toilet. The room was ok but coffee cup was dirty and the shower didnt work properly. The divert valve was faulty... beeakfast was good. Parking was expensive considering there was parking near by for a fraction of the price.
- 5/5
Great breakfast
- 4/5
Dangerous people around
- 2/5
The location looked very unsafe. There is always people standing outside. All the hotels I stayed had room service everyday, this place is every other day.
- 3/5
Lobby was clean but room was not clean at all...hair in the shower blankets were nasty and there was a huge stain on the couch... breakfast was nice and man that took our bags was very nice! There was a domestic argument when we returned one night that resulted in them breaking a wine bottle...not in a great location for walking had to Uber everywhere....
- 3/5
I did not like that there was no parking garage. Valet parking was extra. We had to park further and pay for parking and it didnt feel safe walking from parking lot to hotel. There was no microwave inside room. We couldnt adjust AC. And the curtains were too thin. Breakfast was delicious, tho. Check in was fast.
- 2/5
Due to no on-site parking, I was forced to park on the street. After finding a parking spot on the hotel side of the street, we walked up the street towards the hotel, I noticed a car with a broken passenger window and glass on the ground. Though I was less than thrilled with parking on the street, I thought nothing of the broken window and glass on the ground. When we returned to the car this morning (7/26/2025), we noticed that there were several cars parked on the hotel side of the street with broken passenger windows, and that my passenger side window had been cracked in an attempt to break in. Apparently, wherever it was it was that breaking into cars had struck again. The hotel property should at least warn its guests of the dangers of the area when parking on the street unless they want to pay the $65 valet parking fee.
- 5/5
Some of the area was a little sketchy at times. But no more than most cities. We didn’t feel unsafe and most everyone was just living their lives. There were far more friendly people than anything. We enjoyed it and would stay again.
- 3/5
Bathroom inside my room did not feel very clean. There was discolored caulking in the shower, floors dirty and the overall condition of the bathroom fixtures were poor. The mirror was badly peeling and my room had an odor of marijuana. Was a little disappointed considering the price abs location. Check in processes a friendliness of staff was on point.
- 1/5
Bathroom condition is bad, other than that it’s very good
- 3/5
Difficult to park car
- 5/5
I enjoyed staying at Hyatt Place in Washington D. C. I wished I could have stayed another night or two.
- 3/5
The hotel staff was wonderful. We arrived from Idaho early and because our rooms were ready they let us check in. My room had no air conditioning and they would have given me 1 rooms several floors down for my granddaughter and I, however, the rest of the family was on the 15th floor. I took a room with one bed and a sofa bed, for that night and the next. My granddaughter could not sleep on the sofa bed so she moved into the other room with family. I was told I would be comped for 1st night, and half price for 2nd, however, I have yet to hear anything. Other than that I would definitely stay here agin. Close to Union station and a great sandwich shop with shakes around the corner!
- 1/5
COSTMER SERVICES WAS VERY UNREASONABLE AND ONLY CARES ABOUT NEW BOOKING
- 4/5
After a couple of hours of display, the code water tank is put away to sell the bottled waters.
- 5/5
Great breakfast, clean, very spacious bathroom.

Worst , dirty room, dirty linen, no romm facilities, bad experience, i don't recommend this hotel.
- 5/5
Everything is good overall. They don't have free parking.
- 5/5
Nice and clean
- 5/5
Staying here for the night part of an extended road trip, I’ve been here before it’s very nice. The valet parking is too high! But overall a good place. Breakfast gets a bit crowded and the place is clean. One thing if u order delivery make sure you include the name of the hotels otherwise it’ll end up in the building across the street
- 5/5
Would book again
- 3/5
Our stay was not good the hotel is old our bathroom tub /shower old and the cost of parking is outrageous
- 4/5
It’s really hard to find a parking.
- 5/5
It was nice
- 5/5
Good service at check in
- 5/5
She send us a lot of towels, thank you .
- 2/5
The only good thing about this place is the free breakfast buffet, everything else is terrible. The AC doesn't work, the rooms are run down and dirty, asked for extra pillows and was told there were none, the elevators sound like they will break at any time. Overall it's a 1 star hotel masquerading as a 3 star
- 5/5
It's clean room, quiet ,it's location is very good, I didn't like the expensive price of parking and the other parking ti roo far, I didn't like the long lines for breakfast and poor quality of breakfast , too much oil
- 5/5
Staff were all friendly and helpful, bed was very comfortable, breakfast was great and pool was perfect!
- 5/5
It is at nice place and have so many nearby places to eat.. walkable to metro. But room had issues.. main door won’t lock properly, bathroom door was broken.. long lines for morning breakfast but overall it was nice experience.. staff was supportive and tried best to fix but some issues were not resolvable
