Reviews
The hotel is praised for its excellent location, with many guests highlighting its proximity to the National Mall, museums, and the metro. The staff are frequently described as friendly and helpful. However, there are several complaints about the cleanliness of the rooms and bathrooms, with some guests reporting issues such as mold, dirty floors, and lack of hot water. The condition of the rooms is also a common complaint, with guests mentioning outdated facilities, uncomfortable beds, and noisy air conditioning.
- Excellent location
- Friendly and helpful staff
- Cleanliness issues in rooms and bathrooms
- Outdated facilities and uncomfortable beds

The rooms were really quiet. The carpet was worn but it was still clean. Most of the front desk staff were very courteous and friendly. We wish the pool hours were a little longer.
- 5/5
We stayed here for one night after a concert. The entire facility and room was very clean and well-kept. The staff were super friendly and helpful. We LOVED that there’s a Starbucks right off of the hotel. The only complaint was that there was no shampoo or body wash in the bathroom, the holder where I assume they would have been was broken, which is probably why there was none, but that was minor and didn’t really matter since we only stayed for one night. Would definitely stay here again.
- 5/5
Very conveniently located. Friendly staff

Excellent location for museums. Not a lot of restaurants nearby. The hotel though is excellent and very clean. Would definitely stay here again

When we first arrived in our room, the A/C was not working properly and the room was quite warm. The front desk was responsive and immediately sent maintenance who solved the problem within a few minutes. Check-in was smooth, staff were friendly and engaging. The breakfast buffet is fine, with plenty of options, but being in a major city, it isn't cheap. The parking situation is adequate, although it can be tight to maneuver with larger buildings in the underground garage. Again, being in a major city, parking isn't cheap. One thing that is often under-noticed, but certainly a nice commodity, was that the elevators were quick. You rarely had to wait. After a long day in the sun, when you just want to relax, that was a nice bonus. Overall, we had a good experience. With a little TLC, this place would be a fantastic property!

Location was excellent Cleanliness of room
- 5/5
The rooftop pool was great! We also liked the breakfast buffet. The air conditioning units needed some attention. We had to move rooms once because it quit working. Once moved, the unit still sounded terrible but it did work! Overall though it was a very nice hotel and very clean.

Run down hotel with poor utilities and service from staff.
- 5/5
Parking in underground garage with elevator access to hotel. Staff was courteous and helpful. Room was clean and comfortable.
- 3.5/5
Great location, close to everything we wanted to see. Room, hallways were outdated, could use upgrades.

Best about the place is location. Very accessible. Easy walk, Uber or metro. We mostly walked. Very nice breakfast buffet, pricey, glad it was included in my booking package. Rooms are a bit outdated but didn't really matter as we were out and about sll day. Pretty quiet. Would book again.
- 2.5/5
good location. staff was unhelpful. the check in was supposed to be at 15:00 but the room wasn’t ready until 4:30. we asked about a parking place, and were guided not to the cheapest possible one. very slow elevator.
- 4/5
The breakfast buffet was delicious, full of different selections every morning. Room was cleaned daily. It was a little difficult getting 1 taxi for a party of 6, but the other Taxi cabs would try to accommodate us.

Loved the location! We were able to walk to all the monuments and museums that we were there to visit. Room size was good and the staff were friendly.
- 5/5
We loved having a real Starbucks in the hotel. The rooms are nice, and the location is excellent. The only problem is the pool needs to open earlier. It was 93 when we stayed there in mid-April, but the pool hadn’t opened yet.

Faint smell to room but tolerable Overall, good stsy
- 4/5
Great location. Very slow elevator. Carpet needs to be updated.
- 3/5
It had a great location Walking distance to museums and monuments. We arrived after check in time and had to wait 45 minutes for our room to be ready. The bed was very firm, too hard for our liking.
- 4/5
We had to switch rooms due to an odor in our original room. We were put in a smaller room for the night then upgraded back to a king bed room. The staff was very helpful in doing this and even comped our breakfasts for the stay. The concierge was a very helpful guy with all of our travel and sight seeing plans and restaurants. We enjoyed seeing National Guard troops at the hotel.
- 5/5
We loved the pool on the roof and spent every night there. The rooftop bar only seems to be open certain days of the week, but they have both non-alcoholic and alcoholic drinks to enjoy. The gym had quite a bit of equipment and was clean. The only thing to note is the carpet in the hotel needs to be replaced. My only bit of advice is that the location is great for walking to the mall, and sights around DC, but there aren’t a lot of restaurants nearby. Just the hotel restaurant (which is a great choice), a pizza place and McDonald’s. Otherwise it’s about a 1 mile walk or uber ride to get to restaurants. Overall I would definitely stay here again for our next trip!! Thanks for a great stay!

location and helpful, friendly staff

This morning, I decided to respectfully let the receptionist know that there’s a mouse on the 4th floor. She just said “mhmm” and nodded, clearly not surprised by this fact. After what felt like a whole minute, she finally said she will let the cleaner know. I’m not sure what the cleaner will do, as the hotel already appeared clean! I did the right thing and didn’t even get a simple thank you from staff. I guess the only way to get the hotel to care is to get angry and make a big scene…. TLDR: if you dislike mice, look elsewhere

Pool was not in service.

- 3/5
Good location for the mall’s museums, but over-priced with few amenities. No complimentary breakfast or coffee in the lobby
- 4/5
The breakfast was good. Lots of choices and friendly staff. The carpets in the main hallways are outdated and wrinkly. Almost as if they are coming up and I watch several other patrons trip over the wrinkles. The water pressure wasn’t very good in the shower.
- 5/5
Appointment at Smithsonian. 15-minute walking distance. The room was very clean and comfortable. Staff were curious and helpful with my questions concerning the area. Asked for the menu for breakfast. Buffet only, which I don't enjoy.

The pool was closed due to “weather” but the bad weather did not happened and the pool should have opened on Memorial Day as planned. The game area was fun.
- 5/5
Great location to most attractions. Staff were all great, especially Chris at the front desk. He made the trip for my grandson very memorable and even considered Chris as his new best friend. Will definitely recommend to others.
- 5/5
Very nice hotel
- 4/5
We did not have breakfast in the hotel, the rooms we had were connecting (as requested) and the hotel location was good. Prices in the market were a bit high.
- 3/5
The only reason to stay at this hotel is the location and they know it. The room was not worth $400 a night!!! Needs updating... mold in the bathroom, shower vents where you can see into the next room 😮, not even a microwave in the room!!
- 5/5
absolutely love the staff and there’s so many families there that we met and played with in the courtyard. They were giving away free wine to the moms in the lobby and the air space museum is behind it so literally the next block and then the national mall is right there you don’t need an Uber or you don’t need a scooter or to rent a car you just walk everywhere. And there’s a free shuttle across the street that will take you to the wharf

AC did not work. They came once to fix it, but it went right back out, and even though, I asked 2 times, they never returned to fix again. Sink leaked--one night, it leaked all over everything! You could hardly turn on/off the shower. I had to go turn it off every time for my mom. Breakfast was expensive and really not great, unless you like runny eggs, then you should be fine. McDonald's is next door. I would choose a bacon, egg, biscuit any day over this breakfast. Location is very good. 5 stars for location. People were nice. I think the place is just old and needs some work. I would not return there.

Free Breakfast was one of the criteria in searching for hotel, plus checked box for free breakfast on 3 different lists. I selected from list of hotels that matched that criteria. During our stay, we went down to breakfast bar area & had breakfast. An attendant asked for voucher, so I went to hotel checkin to get voucher & told they didn’t offer free breakfast. The cost for breakfast was $60 for 2 adults. I contacted Hotel.com for assistance & was told our reservation at hotel didn’t include free breakfast. Nothing was done to resolve the problem or offer full/partial refund for cost of breakfast. Very disappointing!
- 5/5
My room was very nice, hotel service was fantastic every day. A concierge was in the lobby to assist with any D.C. visitor questions.
- 5/5
The location was PERFECT! Very close to National Mall. Easy to get yo via Metro. The hotel itself was great. Very clean. Super friendly staff, especially Kenny. We bought the breakfast buffet one day & it was adequate. They had free wine tasting in the lobby each night we were there. I would stay again.
- 4/5
Unfortunately, the pool was still closed when we were there is the last week of March. I used the onsite fitness rooms once and they were adequate, but not spacious. We weren't impressed with the hotel's restaurant/bar or the breakfast buffet. Both are overpriced and service was mediocre. There is a Starbucks which can be accessed from the lobby - very convenient. There is also a McDonalds, a carryout pizza place and a deli breakfast/lunch sandwich place all on the same street block the hotel is on. The hotel is not close to a metro station, although you can walk to/from in a reasonable amount of time if you don't have mobility issues. Cabs are constantly parked out front. Get the Curb app to get a cab to come get you for your return trip. And of course, there are Uber drivers everywhere. Would I stay there again - for sure, but I would also explore other options first, now that I know what to expect with this place.
- 5/5
Excellent location, professional staff, clean quiet room : )
- 3/5
Check-In was miserable and later than posted check-in times online. We expected to check-in at 3pm and weren’t allowed access to our room u til after 4pm. We were asked to wait and check-back repeatedly—not great. The Lobby was not properly ventilated, which made the wait more uncomfortable in high temperatures.
- 5/5
Hotel was very accommodating by keeping our bags safe until 3pm check-in. So much is in walking distance. Staff were friendly, professional & informative. Room was very spacious. Check in & out was a breeze. A staff member texted thru out stay to make sure all your needs were met. Highly recommend & will be back.

- 4/5
It is actually in a great location next to the Smithsonian and National Mall. The rooms were clean but a bit dated. However, had no problems with the stay and staff made sure we were comfortable. She even comped out breakfast and gave us a few waters to take with us. Also the neighborhood, although a little deserted at night seems very safe. There is a bunch of federal law enforcement stuff nearby.
- 4/5
The bed was hard as a rock. After seven nights, I was ready to go home to my bed. This mattress needs to be changed for your next guest. The breakfast was good. Overall we enjoyed our stay. It was very convenient to all the museums and sites. Really appreciated the concierge Rickey helping us with tours and suggestions.
- 5/5
This was a great place to stay while visiting the nations Capital. It was very central to the mall, museums, monuments and many food trucks. The staff was great when needed. Being able to park our car in the garage and either walk, take the many electric bikes/scooters or hop on the Big Bus tour (which has a stop very close by) allowed us to fit in much more than expected on our trip. Would definitely stay again!!!

Not matched with the rate of $500+ I paid for a regular room for one night on weekday.
- 4/5
Everything was great! My only observation was that the shower diverter, that valve that shunts water from the tub to the shower, was faulty; I ended up having the tub and shower working at the same time. ;)
- 5/5
In room coffee and refrigerator. Heard conversation from next door, but largely quiet. Clean. Good location. They took us in before check in.
- 5/5
Very comfortable beds and real coffee in the rooms. 🏆
- 5/5
My kids and I were just here for a short time, as my girls had a concert to attend, BUT the hotel service was the highlight of our trip! From check in to check out, everyone was incredibly engaged, welcoming, and friendly…which is not easy to find! The room was clean and comfortable, and the hotel was in a fantastic location. We were able to park in the garage and walk almost everywhere that we wanted to go.
- 1/5
Room was very outdated, half the lights didn’t work, electrical outlets are worn out, tv stations were static.
- 5/5
Breakfast on weekends is 26.95 per adult but up to two kids eat free with each adult meal, so it’s somewhat affordable for families that can take advantage of the free kids buffet.
- 5/5
Perfect!
- 4/5
Great location for walking the National Mall. Staff was very friendly but the restaurant service for dinner was terrible both nights. The food trucks down the block where excellent. The room was nice and comfortable. The parking garage and Starbucks were very convienent. I would stay here again.
- 4/5
The staff was wonderful especially the concierge. The rooms are a bit dated and the shower did not drain. The toilet tank cover was cracked and difficult to flush. You could see the dust around the edges of the room and behind and under the furniture. Parking was outrageously expensive. There should be a lower price for those staying at the hotel.
- 5/5
We enjoyed everything about the hotel. The only thing they have no control over is people slamming their doors. The doors work just fine without slamming.
- 5/5
The property is very conveniently located near the National mall and Capital. The room was straightened daily and every thing was clean. Only down side was the pool was out of service and the in house market was over priced.
- 5/5
Good experience
- 5/5
Clean room staff was very helpful
- 4/5
The room was great. I reserved a king and they gave us two queen beds instead. But turned out good just used for suitcases. What wasn't great was walls thin, another guest was arguing very loudly all night the first two nights. After that not so noisy
- 3/5
Pool was closed end of April advertised open. No coffee available in lobby, just little packets in room. Bed was lumpy. No microwave in room. Outside of window was very dirty. Main reason i booked it was it was close to Metro subway, good. McDonalds was end of block otherwise not a lot to choose from nearby. It was ok but nothing special.

Every time we travel to DC, this is the Holiday Inn Washington Capitol is the first reservation we make. So close and convernient to everything at an unbeatable price. We've been here many times before and will continue coming back in the future.
- 2/5
We had a third floor room that was 15 feet from train tracks. It made it very hard to sleep. Older hotel that’s pretty outdated. Much better options around.
- 5/5
Great location; Clean; Staff friendly and helpful; Starbucks in the building.
- 5/5
Conveniently located near the metro station and mall making it ideal for sightseeing. Although the facility has some age, it was maintained well and the staff was very helpful. Excellent breakfast bar.
- 5/5
The staff here were excellent. Big shout out to Keeda (I’m so sorry if I spelled it wrong) at the front desk. I absolutely loved her! She was so friendly and so welcoming. Really all of the staff here were great. I LOVED that there was a Starbucks on site and that it stayed open all day. BIG points for that. The room was large and the beds were pretty comfy. We had everything we possibly needed. The restaurants on site were surprisingly good. The breakfast buffet was one of the best hotel breakfast buffets we’ve had in a hotel state side. There was a great selection and the eggs weren’t sad frozen cheese omelettes, but actual eggs! The dinner restaurant was surprisingly good as well. We were too wiped out after a day of sight seeing to go anywhere else and we were really pleased with how good the food was. The food was a bit spendy, but the convenience and the quality were worth it. All in all, we were really happy with our stay here and look forward to coming back soon.
- 5/5
Breakfast buffet was spendy but the hotel has a Starbucks and restaurant in it that had great food and service. Great location close to the Air and Space museum and the mall area making it very easy to walk from or take an electric scooter from and be anywhere on the mall in minutes for only a few bucks.
- 5/5
Very helpful staff. Nicely positioned hotel just a little annoying hearing the trains roll by all night. A little frustrating to wait in a line for breakfast each morning but very grateful for the buffet when we got in. Warmest regards!
- 4/5
Beds are very hard to sleep on. Breakfast at $30 was not worth it. Should have an egg station where they are made to order instead of watery eggs. Beware that parking is $65 per night. The restaurant is ok. Had a very dry hamburger. But the staff are nice. People are the front desk are not.
- 5/5
Breakfast was not included. Confusing sine iffer continentak and buffet. For the weekend we had to pay cash since they told us that the system was down so we could not charge to our room.
- 4/5
Great location to the National Mall for walking back and forth. Nice to have the Starbucks right next door. The concierge was very helpful with information on sights to see and visit and helped us with the electric bikes. He was so friendly and helpful. The hotel was very busy when we were there, and there was always swarms of people coming and going, and somehow the noise levels from neighboring rooms filtered into our room each night. It seems like it isn't made with sound barrier material. All in all our week long stay was awesome.
- 5/5
Perfect location and clean room. Slept like a baby every night. Just wished they had more variety in the breakfast buffet, it seemed like they had the same thing every day.
- 5/5
Great staff all around. Clean rooms and great location.

Staff were amazing. Rooms need updating and carpets cleaned. Otherwise it was a great place in great area
- 5/5
He room was clean and sheets changed daily, close to Smithsonian museums, close to metro, the concierge I think Ricky was her name was very helpful
- 2/5
The kitchen/buffet staff were really accommodating, but the front desk attendant I dealt with was unfriendly and unwelcoming. The rooms were clean, but the furniture needed fixing or updating; the shower was outdated; they had no hot water for tea anywhere except the kitchen; and there were no water bottles in the fridge. I'd book here again if I HAD to or everything else was too expensive.
- 4/5
We loved the location. Close to the Metro and all of the museums. We had daily maid service which was different from the weekly maid service posted on the website. No breakfast and no close grocery stores. It was nice that we had a refrigerator/freezer. Really needed to have a microwave in our room.
- 5/5
Great location, easily accessible, clean, great staff...

- 5/5
The room was clean, and the staff very friendly and helpful.
- 4/5
Great property close to walk to museums and historic buildings. We arrived early and were able to leave luggage with the front desk. I was surprised there was no microwave
- 4/5
Breakfast had a good selection and was worth pre-purchase plan for breakfast before heading out for the day. The staff was Great. Amendment 21 restaurant was good. Rooms could use a refreshing as curtains had frayed bottom hems and several outlets are loose and sloppy connections. Very clean and suited our needs for rest each night after long exhausting days out on the town. Love the location near transportation hub and national mall.
- 4/5
The staff was nice and the room was clean. It was very close to the sites we wanted to visit.
- 2/5
Dinner at the restaurant was also disappointing; a $18 salad consisted primarily of lettuce, with minimal toppings. While that meal was refunded, the overall experience remained unsatisfactory. We were offered a room change, but declined given we had only one night remaining. Additionally, a manager indicated that one night of our stay would be comped; however, I have not yet seen that adjustment reflected. The only positive aspect of this hotel is its convenient proximity to museums and major historic attractions.
- 4/5
Had some hospitality issues with rude staff during check in. It has a great location. Walking distance to Capitol, National Mall, Smithsonian exhibits, memorials and monuments. However, this location came at a price. Almost no after hours (5:00 PM) places to eat and hotel restaurant was very expensive. Parking was extremely expensive also. No indoor pool.
- 5/5
Goo location…
- 4/5
Its dated but reasonable clean.
- 5/5
Clean room, wonderful activities fo the kids on Easter morning.
- 3/5
Card readers in the elevator were intermittent, indicator lights not always working. No hot water in the bathroom sink, although the shower was great. Beds, linens, towels, housekeeping staff were all very good.
- 5/5
Spacious clean rooms
- 2/5
Very noicy room, wifi is a joke. Congestions everywhere.
- 2/5
It was clean and the staff was great, but the room condition was horrible. I gave it two stars because it at least kept any potential rain off our heads but the air conditioners were so loud that the bed actually vibrated when the compressors kicked on. Now, to the bed, it was unsleepable, the mattresses was literally bowl shaped that must have taken years to get into that condition. After letting the staff know they brought up a foam pad that was not the right size so the bed turned into a bowl with sharp edges. Every day my back pain got worse and my sleep quality degraded. Noise is sometimes a challenge for a hotel and I understand that but to have such a poor sleeping experience is inexcusable, they have full control over that and chose to not replace a mattress that is obviously way past its expiration date.
- 5/5
The hotel was nice, clean and comfortable. I would definitely stay again.
- 4/5
Hotel is conveniently located to attractions. Lobby and common areas are clean, well kept and updated. Rooms are dated and need renovation. There are no USB ports for mobile devices. You can use the one on the back of the TV. Wait staff in restaurant were slow and inattentive. Although a continental breakfast and parking are advertised, they are not included with the room fee.
- 2/5
For the price point, this place was well below average. The floor was barely vacuumed, bed was hard as a rock, shower smelled like mildew every time we turned it on, outlets were loose or missing covers, they didn’t refresh our linens or take our trash away, and the TV kept cutting in and out. The location to the metro itself was convenient, but be warned that train whistles will start blowing early AM (one night the train came through at 350 AM). My husband and I wish we had booked at another hotel. We will never come back here.
- 5/5
Super friendly and helpful staff. Quick check in. Walkable to most everything.
- 4/5
The best part of this hotel is the location. 3 blocks to Air and Space Museum, 3 blocks to the Metro, 10 min walk to the spy museum, and 18-20 minutes down to the Warf. Plus several rental bikes & scooter outside. We would return for the location alone. The locati

Cleanliness is not so good. The room I stayed in was pretty outdated. The tv signal SUCKED, we went on a sunny day and it kept going out. Lobby room was extremely hot not sure why. But over all employees were very helpful and friendly!
- 4/5
everything a traveler asked for is around. just one thing, why no toothpaste? and the second elevator is not working really or is it just we have to wait?
- 5/5
Our stay at this Holiday Inn far exceeded our expectations largely due to Ricky the concierge that helped with choosing sights, tours, transportation, and restaurants. His cheerful, professional guidance was invaluable for our six days of touring WA DC for our 45th wedding anniversary. Buffet breakfasts were delicious! Being close to National Mall was very helpful.
- 2/5
Bathroom is rusty and moldy. Horrible bed. Super hot lobby. Only one main elevator.
- 5/5
We stayed there for two nights and our third time staying. The staff are very friendly and professional. The room is clean and spacious. Location is very convenient and close to museums and monuments and public transportation. We will definitely come back and stay again.
- 5/5
Clean room friendly staff. The negative i have we were on the train side. Can be loud ar times
- 5/5
The breakfast is excellent with many choices. The staff were very friendly when serving the drink during the breakfast. The hotel location is conveniently close to the national mall and capital. We had a good stay, will come again.
- 5/5
Friendly staff and perfectly located for sightseeing.
- 3/5
Beware that staff will forget to give you your breakfast vouchers. There were two families being charged for breakfast, although we had paid for breakfast included. The vouchers were ready, but not handed at the time of check in. Also we were assigned a room that had not been cleaned and had to move.
- 3/5
Building was older and could use a refresh.
- 5/5
Rooms and workout facility are old and worn out.
- 4/5
Can’t beat the location near the mall and capitol. Building is fine.
- 4/5
The best feature of this hotel is the proximity to the National Mall. Parking in the underground garage is convenient but difficult to manage in a large vehicle. Continental breakfast is fine but pricey. Beds were hard. Be sure to ask for a room opposite side of the train tracks, the trains are frequent in the morning.
- 4/5

The only problem was the bathroom toilet was so very low. Loved having the Starbucks right there. The staff was fabulous and beyond just helpful. They really went toe extra mile,
- 3/5
We were told over the phone that parking was included with the price of the room. This false information cost us an additional $65.00. The parking garage was like catacombs and poorly marked with no space numbers. The TV cut off more that it worked; that is, the channels could not be picked up by the dish or cable. There was no sci-fi station.
- 4/5
Front desk staff was very friendly.

Clean and great location

Comfortable beds, close to a lot of attractions.
- 5/5
Everything was great.
- 3/5
We found other people’s items under the bed that hadn’t been vacuumed. Q-tips stuffed all around the window edges. And clean sheets on the pullout couch. The refrigerator still had a half emptied Dr Pepper drink in it. The accommodations were for a king suite with a tub and we received a queen suite handicapped room with a walk-in shower that sprayed all over the floor. They did try to fit us into another room of a lesser quality and cost so we could get a tub. I told them no thank you it was a small smaller room. I should have made note when we walked into the room as we checked in that this was not the right room. Sad

if you want to walk to the national archives for research or walk to the monuments you’re in prime location for that. I also loved the beds the room was really clean, the shower was hot lots of amenities in the room the restaurants were amazing! Pay an extra few dollars for the buffet when you book, it’s totally worth it
- 5/5
Had problem with no hot water the first night. Staff changed our room and everything wonderful after that. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Perfect location to see the National mall and all its sights.
- 3/5
This hotel is in a great location and it is nicely appointed. As with most hotels I visit, the bathroom is indicative of the care and attention staff and ownership give and, almost without fail, there are shortcomings in the caulking either around the sink or the tub. Sometimes both. The beauty of the countertop in this bathroom does not overcome the ugliness of the caulk around the sink. It looks and feels unclean. I also fail to understand why the more expensive hotels do not provide a hot breakfast like Comfort Suites and similar hotels. Such a hotel as this Holiday Inn charges more and provides less. A room is a room and I found very little to recommend this room over many Comfort Suites I have stayed in. The biggest improvement over a Comfort Suites was an appropriate step up in security; as is needed for a downtown hotel.
- 5/5
Service was wonderful. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. Loved the texting communication.
- 5/5
Extremely clean. Very friendly staff. Great family plays just a couple blocks from the mall and various museums.

- 5/5
Near Air and Space
- 5/5
The room, hallways and common areas were clean the beds were super comfortable. They constantly checked in to see if everything was okay. Marcus and Melisa were great as well as the front desk personnel. Grateful for there service and commitment to excellence. Close to metro and various museums to include the Museum of The Bible. We were in town to see the theatre production of “God meant it For Good” amazing production and outstanding stay at the Holiday Inn.
- 5/5
Great location, great staff clean rooms. Perfect.
- 2/5
Front desk gentleman was very short and seemed bothered by by minimal questions. There was a large group checking in so that might be why? But he should at least let me know where the parking garage is!! The layout of the hotel is confusing and it's a lot of walking to get to your room. Room was outdated and 2 of the lights didn't even work, and with all of the rust in the shower, I certainly wasn't going to use that.I won't be back and warn others! P.S. $ 55 to park for 1 night is ridiculous 🙄
- 3/5
Expensive
- 5/5
Great! Close to everything!
- 5/5
Very clean and good location.
- 5/5
Very clean
- 3/5
Needed some cleanliness and some TalC around thenpeoperty
- 3/5
in our room was not working and the duvet had what I believe to be gum on the top. There is not a fan in the bathroom therefore when you shower it steams up pretty good. The front desk help was fantastic and very kind. I love having a Starbucks in the lobby. The proximity to the train is convenient for sure.
- 3/5
The staff was AMAZING! Just really wish there was some kind of usb charger to buy or use in the room and the only 1 elevator working was very annoying, every channel on the tv was very blurry or pixelated and the volume on the remote didn’t work. The room was very clean and as expected.
- 5/5
Perfect location. Clean and comfortable.
- 3/5
Was good but the room wasn’t cleaned throughly. The carpet was very dusty and there was some garbage laying around.

Walk to Smithsonian!
- 4/5
Clean room and close to metro station
- 4/5
Room was clean and we requested connecting rooms which was granted.
- 5/5
Place to walk to the Smithsonian museums. The breakfast buffet had a large assortment of hot and cold foods each morning. Our suitcase broke in the flight to DC and it was no problem for me to have another one sent to the hotel from Amazon. I don't write reviews often but this hotel. Especially the staff, really stood out. I would highly recommend this hotel!
- 5/5
Great location!!!!! 10/10!!!!!! we were able to walk to get to monuments and museums!! Staff at breakfast area and front desk EXCELLENT! VERY HELPFUL AND PLEASANT! I would recommend HI Capitol to my family and friends and - if i have the chance, i would go back! KUDDOS TO THIS EXCELLENT HOTEL!!!!!
- 5/5
Staff was very hospitable and welcoming.
- 5/5
Room was exactly how I imagined! Perfectly located.
- 5/5
Clean and nice staff
- 5/5
Clean close late checkout
- 4/5
Room was amazing with great view. Smelled little of cigarettes when walking in but quickly went away. Heard our neighbor some nights, but overall great!
- 5/5
The location was great and the staff were very nice.
- 3/5
Staff was excellent! Fast check in and out. Shower and sink water smelt moldy at first but went away after day 4 of 6. There seemed to be lip stick stain on the comforter cover. Housekeeping provided a replacement.
- 5/5
Yes
- 3/5
Evening staff was nice. However the room was just “loud”
- 2/5
I was on the 7th floor and it was okay I heard people running in the hallway, the pillows were bad, there was not hot water in the bathroom, the tub was clogged
- 5/5
The staff were very knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. As someone from out of state visiting for sightseeing I was impressed by how helpful their advice was. Made my trip easier and more enjoyable!!
- 5/5
Couldn’t believe how convenient, clean, and affordable it was. Great stay!
- 5/5
Luis at the front desk was most helpful!
- 5/5
Everything was great!
- 3/5
Room was not cleaned properly, we adjusted because we were already tired and didn't want to wait until it's cleaned. Hair dryer was not working, breakfast was ok
- 5/5
Close to the metro. Close to the mall. Starbucks on site. What more could you ask for. Room was clean. Plenty of coffee or tea. We even got an early check in.
- 5/5
room was clean and quiet, explained the bed needed help, they put a mattress topper on it along with harder pillows and I slept great the next 2 nights. Appreciate management doing it for me. otherwise, everything was great hotel in great location south of air and space museum and got the trolley from there. It was all good enjoyed the trip
- 4/5
Good location close to national mall and metro. Clean, noisy ac with no room control. Very adequate but nothing special. Friendly staff.
- 2/5
Very expensive breakfast included the continental breakfast, very expensive parking room without microwave or coffee area very different to the other holiday inns that we had stayed
- 2/5
No mention of parking fee until checking in, then charged me $50 per night for parking. When I left after checking out was charged another $50 dollars at the gate! Will be disputing that for sure!
- 4/5
Beds werent very comfortable. Conveniently located. No food options close by besides pricey hotel restaurant and mcdonalds down the street. A few food trucks with a bit of a walk. Close to metro entrance.
- 5/5
yes. bellman helpful
- 5/5
Excellent location to visit the museums and memorials.
- 4/5
Great location and overall a good place to stay. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was clean and spacious. A few negatives were that the beds were pretty hard and most of the outlets in our room didn’t seem to work. However, I would stay here again!
- 2/5
Avoid this Hotel… this is a terrible place to stay the room was so dirty the staff was rude It’s my first and last stay at this hotel. I

The hotel was very nice inside and the courtyard was pretty. The staff was friendly and very accommodating.

- 5/5
Clean room, great location, good restaurant & bar in the hotel.

The hotel is great . The staff is so nice and helpful and we will be staying there again . The hotel was clean and located near the metro and national mall. The beds were so comfy , the water was nice and hot ! It was perfect and we will be coming back !
- 5/5
The room was clean and we had a great view outside our window. The staff was great and the hotel a a short walk to the Smithsonian museums.
- 5/5
Very friendly staff, great location, close to the National Mall
- 5/5
Room was clean, though a little outdated. Plenty of heat and hot water. Staff was exceptional in all areas. Food was good, breakfast and dinner. Cabs plentiful.
- 5/5
The property was perfectly located for our walking tour of DC. The staff was very helpful and professional!
- 5/5
All good. Fastest elevators around.
- 4/5
Clean room, convenient location, friendly and helpful staff. On the negative side, overpriced parking.
- 4/5
Room was always cleaned and staff very friendly and helpful. Close to enfant plaza with a few places to eat and subway as well. The negatives would be government district, alot of things in immediate area close 4-5 ish. No continental breakfast, 1 of the only holiday inns ive been to that doesnt have the breafast bar. There are options for Breakfast like the restaurant and starbucks, but at more expense. Would stay again only from the learning i did this last time. Pool also is outdoors and not open during colder season.
- 4/5
Yes
- 5/5
The hotel was clean and close to everything we were interested in doing. We took a short walk down to the Wharf and all of the Mall was walkable. Our heater was a little loud but other than that everything was perfect. Other hotels might be fancier or cleaner, but this hotel was a bargain! Would definitely choose again.
- 5/5
Location was good
- 5/5
The room was clean and comfortable. The location was great.
- 5/5
Good location. Clean rooms.
- 5/5
Very conveniently located. We would stay again.
- 4/5
Great location to the Metro and Smithsonian Air & Space
- 4/5
Overall it was good, rooms were clean and staff was very friendly and accommodating
- 5/5
Yes all 5 star
- 5/5
Quick check in, friendly staff, great location
- 5/5
Clean room, friendly staff, great location
- 4/5
Beds are firm. The hotel is close to metro transit system and the national mall. Staff was friendly. Rooms are a little dated, but they are clean.
- 4/5
The room was clean and people and staff were very courteous. What I didn't like were there were no prices on separate items in the "Market" and when I bought a raspberry square it came to $10.60. We wanted two. There is NO way they are worth that much.! And they attendee couldn't find the price so it makes me wonder if we were charged correctly
- 4/5
Yes
- 4/5
Room was fine. I’d stayed before and the breakfast changed for the worse. No more omelet bar. No more gluten free pancakes. No more waiters or menu. Only garbage buffet. Had to find other options for breakfast and none were close by.
- 5/5
Fabulous location. Loved the street parking too
- 5/5
This was a great location. Nice walk to the wharf. Super close to the metro.
- 4/5
Front desk staff very pleasant. Restaurant bar staff unpleasant.
- 4/5
2 blocks to the National Mall. Perfect location for sightseeing.
- 5/5
GREAT
- 5/5
Great location, helpful staff, clean room
- 4/5
Walkable to attractions
- 5/5
Room was great, staff wonderful!
- 5/5
Room was good, no issues except the chairs are uncomfortable. Restaurant on 1st floor has excellent food, huge portions. Friendly staff. Nice handy Starbucks right there. Super close to National Mall.
- 1/5
The hotel isn’t very honest about their prices and whatnot , was told parking would be included in our trip, however that was an additional $118 , they knew parking was free on the street. They are very slick and that’s not using the honesty principle… as well as there was a roach in our room .. we do have pictures , bathtub had scum residue and was dark and not bright white like a clean hotel is normally… for over $800 bucks for 2 days , we don’t recommend this hotel unfortunately
- 4/5
Shower leaked, TV didn’t work properly, walls were very thin - could hear snoring through the walls
- 5/5
Good
- 4/5
I would stay here again. The location is great.
- 5/5
The service was great! The hotel is very clean and conveniently has a restaurant and a Starbucks downstairs. Aside from that the location is outsta
- 4/5
The hotel room was clean but the towels were rough and the TV remote was barely responsive to input. The Continental breakfast is a good deal at $14.99 and the restaurant provides good food and friendly service. The service everywhere was excellent. We would stay there again!
- 5/5
Restaurant/bar was very good.
- 2/5
Shower took work to turn of dripping as the toilet required 2 flushes terrible pillows
- 5/5
Clean room, great location, and friendly staff!
- 5/5
Wonderful stay. Extremely clean, friendly staff. Great location for sightseeing.
- 4/5
The staff was polite. Cleaning crew was on point. Excellent information about the tours.
- 4/5
Hotel can definitely use a facelift. But the staff were nice and had housekeeping everyday which is a plus and haven’t seen at a lot of hotels we have stayed at since covid.
- 2/5
The mattress was very old and very uncomfortable. We didn’t sleep for the whole four nights. The blanket was to small for the bed , it was a king bed with what was a queen bed spread. There was no bottled water for the coffee. The hot water in the shower and sink took at least 15 min of running to get hot. The staff was very nice. Location great close to many things. Not really any restaurants near by. Starbucks was there and very efficient Restaurant was ok. But the waitstaff was very nice. We had a great visit to Washington DC despite the shutdown of all museums. So hotel was conveniently located and staff was. Igreat. We are ver disappointed in the fact we were exhausted from lack of sleep due to very bad mattress. Thank you. Linda Johnson 602-920-2279
- 4/5
Very friendly staff
- 5/5
Great
- 4/5
The concierge, Ricky, was fantastic!
- 5/5
Room was comfortable and clean .. nice walk-in shower.
- 5/5
Location!
- 5/5
The room was clean and everyone was friendly and respectful
- 5/5
Friendly staff, clean room and hotel, very close to everything. I would definitely stay here again!
- 4/5
room and staff were excellent. only disappointment was no outdoor seating available. Weather was great, we asked if we could get some chairs to sit outside on the patio. We were told the outdoor chairs had been put away for the season and not available. It was very disappointing. Lovely patio and no way to enjoy it. Outdoor chairs should be available when weather is great. Should not have to leave the hotel to look for outdoor seating.
- 4/5
The room was a bit dated but our stay was great! The staff was friendly, the location was perfect for what I needed. All in all, I would stay here again.
- 4/5
The location was great. Getting off the metro exit B will get you close to the hotel.
- 4/5
Centrally located.
- 4/5
Staff were all very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and for the most part comfortable.
- 5/5
The staff was fantastic. Everyone friendly. Room was clean. Close to so many things and easy walk to the Metro train station. Would stay again next visit to DC!
- 5/5
I like that you have to use the key cards to access the floor because it seemed like a way of maintaining safety and security.
- 5/5

- 1/5
Room dingey dark not well kept or updated
- 5/5
We enjoyed our stay. The guy wjo checked us in was very helpful abd kind. The location was perfect dor our needs. Close to a metro stationans to the National Mall. Our room was clean and comfortable. The daily housekeepers took good care of us.
- 5/5
Staff was friendly, rooms were clean and a great location to all the museums and sites within walking distance. Close to metro as well.
- 3/5
The elevator closest to our room did not always work which was inconvenient. The hotel restaurant breakfast was exorbitantly priced for average offerings. The only thing good about the hotel was the location and proximity to the metro station. I would not stay here again.
- 4/5
Overall clean hotel, staff were very pleasant and helpful. There is not much around as far as shopping and dining.
- 5/5
Staff was very attentive and customer focused.
- 4/5
Nice pillows but the bed was not comfortable. Parking was very expensive at $59. Very accessible to the Smithsonian museums and the capital mall.
- 5/5
This hotel is close to both the Smithsonian and the metro. You can get anywhere in the city from this location. Rooms are exceptionally clean. My only feedback is they are a little dated... however the location and cleanliness make this a great stay!
- 3/5
Our room did not match the pictures and our WiFi was in and out. Upon check in our front desk person was training someone and neglected to tell us about the WiFi passwords, my phone connected immediately but was later told that I needed to go in and put in our name and password to prevent it from “the no internet service” I got all the time. It made it very difficult to get info about food and stuff in the area.
- 3/5
Room was clean, staff helped when we needed extra pillows.
- 5/5
Amenities were superb, staff was very helpful
- 3/5
Rm 325 has a very noise toilet. Bathtub drains very, very slowly.
- 3/5
Daily housekeeping was hit and miss but the overall property was clean, all staff were polite and friendly and the location to the main visitor attractions can't be faulted.
- 2/5
We had constant noise coming from somewhere I think our room was close to the laundry or maintenance room,,
- 5/5
The staff was very helpful and friendly. They saved our bags when we needed it. Clean and organized rooms everyday. The breakfast buffet is 10/10. Amazing.
- 3/5
The TV had no guide and no apps. There were NO USB ports.
- 5/5
Luis at the front desk was very helpful.
- 4/5
No dislikes
- 4/5
good rooms and friendly staff. great location station and nationals mall all walkable.
- 5/5
Great location if you want to visit Smithsonian museums.
- 5/5
Hotel was nice and easy to walk to the museums around the location.
- 5/5
The staff were super friendly and helpful (particularly on the front desk and in the restaurant) - thank you for having me!
- 4/5
Good location
- 5/5
Staff was just wonderful I hurt my knee really bad the bells man and staff at front great around 10 am on October 10 were just wonderful I was out of town they help me put my crutches together and made sure I made it in my Lyft okay 10/10
- 3/5
The shower did not work properly so the water came out as a drizzle, the room cards did not work on half of the elevators, the beds were hard. The secret service had a room on our floor I guess a good thing? Overall it was okay. Would I stay there again? Probably not
- 2/5
Front desk staff was efficient but not very friendly upon check-in. It was our first time in DC and it would have been helpful to be able to ask for some input / recommendations but it's definitely not approachable. Checked into the room to find the refrigerator not working. Huge hairball on the bathroom floor. Almonds scattered on the floor under the desk. Was more than obvious this room had not been cleaned after the last guest left. If I was paying $99 a night for her room I would expect this, but it over $300 this was totally unacceptable. I was texted during my stay to see if everything was okay I responded no, and there was absolutely no follow-up. Definitely would not recommend
- 1/5
Didn’t like it
- 4/5
Close to National Mall. Walkable. Checkin was delayed. Front desk staff were often busy talking to each other or reading stuff on computers.
- 1/5
I was given the noisiest room facing the train tracks, with windows that were sealed and couldn't be opened. The space under the headboard remained uncleaned for 3 days. Worst of all, the staffs were the rudest I've encountered at any hotel, including all IHG properties I've stayed at.
- 4/5
Room was decent for a night stay .. bed was very uncomfortable but staff was very friendly and accommodating
- 4/5
Was locked out of my room went to front desk explained what happen..waiting for someonr to finally come and help
- 4/5
The location was great! Only 2 blocks to the Air & Space Museum and the National Mall. Too bad most of the buildings were locked down due to "lack of funds."
- 4/5
No complimentary water in my hotel, store stuff was overpriced and hotel restaurant menu lacked any good appetizer items and food was super expensive. Room was nice and service was excellent.
- 5/5
Very clean rooms. Very friendly staff. Perfect location for us.
- 4/5
Tv was contantly going in and out making it hard to watch after walking all day. Condition was nice but bathroom ceiling had a hole in it.
- 3/5
Front Desk staff was not very friendly. Unresponsive, spoke with head down, no eye contact.
- 5/5
Clean and.quiet
- 5/5
Best location to stay if you plan on seeing all the museums, monuments. Only bad thing about the hotel was the pool...Nevertheless it was a great accomodation.
- 5/5
Great location
- 5/5
Quite property. Good eating options, great maid service. Nice people. Taxi's right there. Super close to the Mall.
- 4/5
We were given the keys to someone else's hotel room upin check-in
- 3/5
Room was dusty and water pressure was low. No microwave. Remote cover was broken, with batteries exposed which was dangerous for my toddler. Food in the hotel restaurant was very dry.
- 5/5
Walkable to national mall and bible museum. Clean convenient, friendly staff. Breakfast buffet only. Food ok but better dining within a $15 to $20 taxi ride.
- 3/5
Booked this hotel for its position and the swimming pool. However, very disappointed to find the pool wasn’t open for September.
- 3/5
Breakfast is expensive but good variety and options. Elevators are slow, and always packed with guests.
- 5/5
The only complaint would be the breakfast, it’s not good and overpriced but it doesn’t affect my review because there are so many other options.
- 5/5
If you’re in DC for the museums and monuments, this is the place.
- 3/5
Bathroom had no ventilation
- 5/5
Great location, room was King, staff was great and helpful when ever we had a question. Went with the breakfast and was one of the best we've seen anywhere.
- 5/5
It was very nice hotel Very close to the National Mall where you can see all the sights Within walkable distance
- 5/5
The staff working the front desk were fantastic!
- 4/5
Front desk staff was great
- 5/5
I had a wonderful experience at this hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful, the room was clean and comfortable, and the location was perfect — close to everything I needed. The check-in process was smooth, and all amenities worked well. Breakfast was fresh and tasty, and housekeeping did a great job keeping everything spotless. I would definitely stay here again.
- 4/5
Room was clean and staff were helpful. Having guest laundry on our floor was great.
- 5/5
Nice
- 4/5
Great access to many attractions. Room was clean and quiet. The only complaints would be that the bed is literally inches from the air conditioner so it blows right in your face all night, the shower constantly dripped, and the tv had horrible reception.
- 4/5
Clean room, large room. Bed uncomfortable
- 5/5
Great location. Clean comfortable room.
- 5/5
This was honestly one of the most pleasant experiences I have had staying at a hotel.
- 5/5
Thank You Washington DC 🇺🇸
- 5/5
Great location. Clean, friendly, spacious rooms. It is $57 a night for parking at the parking garage.
- 2/5
Very noisy room. Toilet extremely loud and didn't work well. Very limited dining choices. Old and tired furnishings.
- 5/5
Nice
- 4/5
Right in the middle of it!
- 5/5
The room was clean and comfy beds. We stayed for the TXT concert in capital one arena. Recommend!
- 4/5
Starbucks was connected,
- 5/5
Staff were great and walking distance to museums
- 5/5
Very friendly staff as well as all the people around the entire area. Will definitely recommend staying here!
- 5/5
We really enjoyed our stay at the Holiday Inn. Close to all the sites. Walkable distances and you can’t go wrong having a Starbucks right next door.
- 5/5
Loved that the hotel has a parking garage! Very walkable too!
- 3/5
The room not smell good
- 5/5
Clean room, good safe area. Very walkable to museums and attractions
- 3/5
Long check in line with only one person at the desk. There were three other employees but none of them helped check people in. They were busy in the backroom. The bed was hard as a rock. The restaurant is mediacore. The plus side is that it is very close to the national mall, walking distance. But dont expect a luxury stay. They also charge for parking.
- 4/5
Pool closed for season in September. Major disappointment. But otherwise a great experience
- 5/5
Overall a very good experience
- 5/5
Close to metro, Outstanding front desk staff, really good value hotel. Bar food downstairs was good as well.
- 3/5
Overpriced for what you get.
- 3/5
Staff not so fresh when I arrived. There bar area closes at 10 pm so good luck trying to finish a game on TV. They need to upgrade there TV’s in the room to smart TV’s, so bring an IPad or laptop to watch your Apps.
- 5/5
Staff is very friendly and helpful. Close to all the Smithsonian museums. Ton of food trucks 2 blocks away!!
- 3/5
I’m not a fussy traveler by no means but my three day stay there was ok at best … no mention of 59 dollars a night parking there when I booked which was shocking.. the staff is excellent minus the short gal who checked me in on Tuesday afternoon the 23rd. She wasn’t pleasant and I had to deal with her one more time.. she isn’t horrible but basically does the minimum to satisfy her job requirements.. almost like I inconveniencey her when I had questions.. like buddy just check in and go.. fortunately the tall dark man in a suit was absolutely wonderful and honestly saved a horrible review..
- 5/5
Outstanding hospitality
- 5/5
Great location, helpful staff.
- 4/5
The shower had very little water pressure and only sometimes would give hot water after fiddling a lot with the faucet. But they were prompt to respond and fix it when we reported it.
- 5/5
Good
- 5/5
Excellent location for seeing all of the DC historical sites room is very centrally located and walking distance to most everything. The only complaint I had of the hotel is the shower. First off the water is extremely hot like too hot that it will burn you. The second issue with the shower is you have to open the door away from the handle to turn it on so when you turn the shower on the water comes down on you and get you wet with cold water, which doesn’t feel good.
- 5/5
The front desk staff was amazing.
- 3/5
Train Tracks and road noise disturbed sleep
- 4/5
Lovely hotel. Close to the Smithsonian
- 5/5
Planning another visit next year.
- 5/5
Loved how close the hotel was to the National Mall! We used the e-bikes outside the hotel to get around and it was fabulous! Room was clean. I wish the restaurant was open on the weekends for breakfast.
- 5/5
Great location for visiting DC sites. The rooms are a good size. Convenient to metro. Staff was professional and personable. I’ll stay here in the future.
- 5/5
Great hotel. Easy access
- 5/5
Great hotel location in DC for visiting many of the museums. Staff was very friendly and helpful, and the hotel and our room was very clean. Bed is fairly firm but overall comfortable. Only thing that could have made it better is if they would offer an economical breakfast option.
- 2/5
hotel staff was rude not all but one lady was..older
- 2/5
Pool was closed and it didn’t stood at the website
- 3/5
The tv and remote were very poor. After channel 15, the signal was poor. The room would not stay at the temperature you selected.
- 4/5
Bathroom was kinda gross. But everything else seemed fine.
- 2/5
The cleanliness was super poor such as the bedding had spots and stains. Also, the TV and electrical outlets didn’t function well. I wouldn’t recommend anyone to stay at this hotel.
- 3/5
First off it wasn't cheap for this place. 2k for five nights for a basic room with two beds. Service was great and the room was clean but the room was just in bad shape. Furniture is on its last leg. Carpets are old, stained and just a little nasty. Same thing with the carpets in the hallway too! Bathroom was old and needs to be touched up. The water pressure in the shower was amazing though. They definitely get props for that. The wallpaper was peeling off everywhere. Look, I know I didn't book a 5-star hotel but I felt like I booked a 1-2 star hotel. Walls are thin and you can fully hear your neighbors above, below and to the sides. Breakfast for $26? Really? Not worth it.
- 4/5
The breakfast buffet needs more option. It’s the same stuff every day and was usually cold.
- 5/5
Great price for the value.
- 4/5
The property is old
- 3/5
The front desk clerk charged me incorrectly. Her language skills and tech skills were inadequate. Something similar happened with the parking attendant, who had to call someone and speak in another language to resolve a problem. Also, had to return a dish in the restaurant because it was so poorly cooked and had a chemical taste. The breakfast was not outstanding either, for $29.00
- 4/5
Check-in was quick and easy, our room was clean, everything worked fine. Only stayed one night, didn't take advantage of any amenities like breakfast, etc.
- 4/5
CONS: Could here the child next door talking and running around at 1145pm. After a long day my husband and I are trying to sleep. The maid walked in on my husband and I naked in bed. NOT COOL! No fan in the bathroom, now normally that's not a big deal, but it is after potty.
- 5/5
Front desk Mr. Kenny! So friendly so helpful!
- 4/5
Staff was friendly, particularly housekeeping staff. Room was clean and included appropriate amenities. Was not so impressed with the restaurant or service for the evening meal. After having dinner there one time we chose not to return again.
- 5/5
Would always like more food choices 😁
- 4/5
Air conditioners were to loud
- 5/5
The staff was so nice and accommodating. Perfect location.
- 5/5
I Truly can't get over how great the hospitality was at this hotel was though. The staff was so professional. They are the epitome of what amazing service and hospitality stands for. They set the example. It was so refreshing after coming from a bad hotel in Ocean City. I cannot thank you enough!!!
- 5/5
The staff were all so nice, loved the walkability to L’enfant Place metro stop, the National Mall & Capitol Hill. Really loved that there was a restaurant on site and ate there two or three nights in a row while doing some training.
- 5/5
Great location! Super friendly staff! Very walkable distance to the national mall! Easy location to drive in and get too quickly!
- 5/5
Close to mostly everything around Washington DC
- 5/5
I come to Washington several times a year and always stay at this facility. I am most impressed with the friendliness of the staff. They are aways helpful and pleasant.
- 2/5
Will not stay again
- 4/5
This is a nice hotel, convenient and well maintained. Walking distance to most things. I would NOT recommend the restaurant for Dinner, I did not try the breakfast as it seemed over priced.

Checkin took 30 minutes as there was only one person working and for some reason each person took 10 minutes to check in. Best thing about it was the location, close to the Smithsonian.

Check-in was easy, lobby has decent space to hang out. The whole hotel feels like it’s a few degrees warmer than you’d expect, slightly uncomfortable. The room was worse, hard to keep it bearable despite the wall AC unit chugging away 24/7. The room is in need of a makeover; the carpet was beat, wallpaper was peeling in several places, only some of the power outlets worked and the satellite service on the TV was very poor even though the weather was clear. Service in the 21st Amendment restaurant was very slow and the “roasted” broccoli was very hard and crunchy. Having said all this, the location is great if you want to be around the National Mall and monuments, just be advised there are not a ton of restaurant options nearby. For DC, the price we paid was reasonable however. Just don’t expect to be wowed by this property.

Two blocks from National Mall and 2 blocks from Metro make it easy to get around town.

It was a hotel

My family and I enjoyed the location of the hotel. It was close to the subway transportation, while being walkable to the wharf, many restaurants, and a lot of the local museums. The room was comfortable and fine. We were a little upset to find out that breakfast was not included. The room was kept cleanly, but the TV had minimal channels and the sink faucet was difficult to completely turn off and had a link all over the sink area daily. There was not enough staff in the restaurant so service was slow. while the buffet was good, I felt it was overpriced and set up Ben in the $15 range instead of $25. Use of checkout and check-in was great and I would recommend this hotel as long as you know that breakfast is not included at this Holiday Inn

A good clean hotel with helpful staff. A travel pass made it easy to get around the city from this hotel.

Location to museums and monuments is great, not a lot of food options or restaurants nearby. Starbucks downstairs and restaurant onsite was a plus. Room cleanliness could have been better.

The location was excellent.

Everything was great except the person who checkes in and out bags was shockingly rude the two times we used the service.

This hotel was such a pleasant surprise. It’s not fancy, but it’s simple, clean, and perfectly located — we were able to walk everywhere with our children, which made things so much easier. One detail that really stood out was the Dove products in the bathroom — such a thoughtful touch! Even at higher-end hotels, I often don’t care for the toiletries, but here I was genuinely impressed. The staff were courteous and very helpful, and having a Starbucks right downstairs was a huge plus. Overall, a great hotel, and we would definitely stay here again!

I already submit my review about this hotel. Why the review request email kept sending?

It wasn’t clean the day one specially the toilets.

The hotel itself was just okay, it was your typical old Holiday Inn. The bed was extremely hard and the air conditioner sounded like a diesel truck and was told it was normal. That combination made it for a rough couple nights of sleep. The bar tender at the hotel bar was extremely rude seemed like she just didn’t want to be there. The proximity to the national monuments was great everything was reasonably within walking distance.

The stay was great. Proximity to our event was perfect. The hotel needs better water pressure and more television channels but the staff was amazing and checking in and out was easy.

I had a wonderful experience staying at Holiday Inn Washington DC. Very friendly staff , warm and very welcoming to all. Neat and clean rooms. The one recommendation I have is that the bathrooms should have toothpaste. Apart from that I and my entire family had a wonderful stay and would like to thank the hotel staff.

Location was great. Mattresses, pillows, linens, bath, pool, and gym were all very good. But the carpets, my lord, get a steam cleaner. Hall, elevators and the rooms especially were just vile. This place would have been excellent, but the carpets…

The in-house dining options were limited despite what they advertised. Otherwise, the stay was good.

First time in DC and this hotel was great. Convenient to everything walking distance.

Great location!

The pool was wonderful, low key place and near everything.

Great hotel for a quick trip! Decently clean and quiet for a relaxing night. Could have had a few more updates in the rooms as far as TV and charging stations, but these are not necessary for everyone!
